Levante Giordano kidnapped Jenna Deborah Brown after she witnessed him kill a public figure, and he vowed to do anything to her but to kill or fall in love with her.

Chapter 1 The Capture

Levante's POV

I pulled my car to a stop and shut my eyes as I let my thoughts run. George Wong. 53 years old. Corrupt politician who engages in child sex trafficking. For that alone, he did not deserve to live.

I opened my eyes and let out a deep sigh. I looked up at the only room with the light on in the office building. Levante Giordano, I thought to myself, this is going to be an easy one.

I put my gun in my pocket, got down from my car and locked it. I walked into the building and used the stairs to George Wong's office on the 6th floor. I made sure to avoid the cameras as I walked to it. I opened the door and walked in.

He was confused to see me. He frowned a little. "Jenna Deborah Brown?" He asked softly.

I squinted my eyes at him.

"You certainly are not Elizabeth's daughter." He said.

I opened my eyes when I understood his confusion. He was expecting someone, a female to be precise. Maybe another young girl he was going to sell for sex. I frowned at him.

"Who are you?" He finally asked me.

I pulled out my gun, turned the safety off and pointed it at him.

He gasped with his eyes wide open as he lifted his hands up in the air.

Jenna's POV

I walked into the office building of Mr. Wong and used the elevator to get to the 6th floor. Mr. Wong had promised my mother he could help me pay for my final year of grad school, and he asked me to meet him in his office tonight for the money. Mom said he was an old friend and a good man. But he made sexual advances at her, so she thought it best that I go and see him for the money myself. She felt he would be ashamed to demand sex from me.

I was grateful to mom for helping me pay for my tuition for my final year. She had been there for me in my first year as well. However she didn't have enough to assist me this time. I was also laid off from my sales executive job a month ago, so gathering funds was difficult. Mom remembered Mr. Wong, and now here I was.

I let out a soft sigh as I walked out of the elevator towards Mr. Wong's office. I got to the office door and it was open. I saw a young man standing and pointing a gun at an older man who defenselessly sat in the office chair. My jaw dropped and my mind went blank.

Levante's POV

I pulled the trigger of my silencer three quick times and left the bullets in his chest. I watched him take his last breath, his eyes seemingly asking me why.

I picked up the shells and put them in my pocket. I turned to leave and saw a woman standing behind me with her mouth wide open.

I squinted at her. Jenna Deborah Brown, I assumed. Then I raised my gun at her head.

She put her hands up in the air immediately and tears flowed in her eyes. "Don't shoot. Please." She whispered in a shaky voice.

Just then I heard the sirens of police cars from a distance.

"Fuck!" I muttered under my breath and moved past her to the corridor.

She stood rooted at the door.

I looked back at her. "What are you doing? Let's go!" I screamed at her.

She shrieked and ran towards me with her hands still up.

"Follow my footsteps. Avoid the cameras." I said sternly as I ran out of the building to the back where I parked my car. I could hear her behind me. How did I miss her walking up to me earlier on?

"Wait, wait, wait!" She said just as we got to the car.

I turned to look at her gravely.

She was panting. "Please let me go. I'll keep my mouth shut and you'll never see me again." She tried to convince me.

I squinted my eyes at her. "What's written on my forehead?" I asked her softly as I subconsciously pointed at my forehead with my gun.

She stared at my forehead blankly.

"It's obviously not 'stupid'. Now get in the car before I blow your fucking brains out!" I said sternly.

She sobbed softly as she sat in the backseat.

I turned on the safety and put the gun in my pocket as I rushed to the driver's seat and quickly started the ignition. I turned to tell her to buckle up just as her phone vibrated with an incoming call. "Throw it out, now." I said sternly.

She ignored me and looked at the screen.

I saw 'Mom' written as the caller ID.

I grunted. "Look here young lady, you do not want to get on my bad side."

She looked up at me with a sudden braveness. "Or what?"

I raised my eyebrows at her. "Do you think I have time for rhetorical questions???" I asked her harshly and snatched the phone, threw it out of the window and buckled her up myself.

In an attempt to fight me off her, she slapped me.

I tried to control my temper because I wouldn't hit a woman. I turned to face the steering wheel. "Lay down." I said and sped off.

I heard a loud thump in the backseat and turned to see her holding on to her forehead.

"What the fuck did I say???" I screamed at her.

I pushed her down and slowed down just as the police cars sped in the direction of where I took out my target.

Chapter 2 The Dungeon

Levante's POV

I sped on and was home in 5 minutes, a drive which should have taken 25 minutes.

Immediately I stopped the car, she rushed out and fell on her knees to throw up. She was car sick because of the speed I had used.

I walked over to her side to watch her. She was a beauty: tall to about my shoulder level, chocolate-skinned, soft black hair which was an afro, and a nice African beauty shape. She wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and sandals. I swallowed as I admired her features.

She was quite weak when she was done. I lifted her up in bridal style and walked to the house. One of the guards opened the front door for me before I could ring the doorbell. I stepped in and saw Chrissendo.

Mm. Chrissendo Bruno, 32, my best friend. Always there. Literally.

He stood up immediately he saw the woman in my arms.

"Who's this?" Chrissendo asked.

I laid her down on the couch gently and then looked at Chrissendo. "I don't know. Liability." I said and walked past him to the stairs leading to my bedroom.

"Hi, Liability." Chrissendo joked.

"My name is Jenna, you jerk!" I heard her say angrily.

I stopped at the bottom of the stairs.

"Oooohhh, Levante, she just called you a jerk." Chrissendo teased.

I turned to look at her slowly. Why was she suddenly fearless? She was pleading earlier. Or was it because I had a gun pointed at her then?

I brought out my gun, turned off the safety and pointed it at her as I walked back to her.

"Levante, chill ..." Chrissendo tried to calm me down.

She stood up and folded her arms on her chest. "Do it." She beckoned me.

I squinted my eyes at her just as I got to her.

"Do it." She said again. "You already killed my last hope. You might as well kill me too. Finish it. What good is it to me to be alive?" She continued with tears in her eyes.

I blinked as her words sunk in.

She moved closer so that my gun touched the middle of her forehead. "Do it, you jerk!" She shouted at me without blinking, tears rolling down her face. "You snatched my dream of finishing grad school from me when you killed Mr. Wong." She said as she cried.

I swallowed, the gun still on her forehead.

"He was supposed to pay for my final year tonight." Jenna explained. "I've been able to gather part of the fees, and Mom remembered Mr. Wong could help. He demanded favours from her ..." she continued.

I squinted my eyes at her when I heard her last sentence.

"... since he's always been into her. So she thought I should go myself because he wouldn't want me ... " She added.

I scoffed. "Yeah, right. Because he wouldn't want a younger and hotter version of your mother." I let out as I turned the safety on and put the gun back in my pocket.

She stared at me wide-eyed. "Are you insinuating that my mom was selling me off to get what she wanted?" She asked in a shaky voice.

"Well, to get you what "you" wanted." I said.

She frowned slightly. "My mom would never do that. And he wouldn't have asked me to sleep with him." She said in a shaky voice as more tears filled her eyes.

I stared into her black eyes deeply. She sounded so naive. I chuckled and turned to walk back to my bedroom.

She hit me in the back.

The guards in the room moved at her attack.

I gritted my teeth and continued walking.

She ran after me and continued to hit me in the back with her hands as she sobbed.

The guards moved towards me, but I raised my hand to signal they shouldn't touch her. They stopped moving and stayed close.

Her hands didn't hurt my back. But for some reason, I was pained. I could feel her pain.

I sighed out as I shut my eyes. I opened them and they fell on Chrissendo who was already looking at me in shock. He knew I took nothing from no one, and he was wondering why I brought this woman home in the first place.

I also don't know why I didn't kill her back then, or why I was letting her hit me while I did nothing about it.

I stood still till she stopped.

She dropped down on her knees and sobbed hard.

I sighed out and walked past Chrissendo to the stairs. "I'm taking a shower," I told him without looking at him.

I climbed the stairs to my bedroom to take a shower.

Chapter 3 Trapped

Jenna's POV

I sobbed hard on my knees when he didn't shoot me or hit me back. I felt my life was over. I sobbed till I couldn't anymore, then I sat back up on the couch. I stared straight ahead as I let my thoughts run.

Levante walked down the stairs after his shower.

I looked up at him. He was already staring at me with cold eyes.

I didn't notice this before, but he was a beautiful handsome man. He had a broad chest for his slender body and tall height, dark curly hair, and brown eyes. He looked and walked like a Greek god. I became awe struck.

"Are you done crying?" He asked harshly and cut through my thoughts.

He had a deep voice and a slight Italian accent. Levante. It was an Italian name.

I swallowed and blinked. His harshness suddenly made me lose all attraction to him. I remembered that my mom tried calling earlier when he snatched the phone and threw it out of the car. I frowned a little. "Can I call my mom to let her know I'm fine?"

He stared at me blankly.

"You killed her friend and he's a public figure. News about his death should be all over by now. And because I was supposed to go and see him, she'd think something happened to me too. She'll be worried sick." I explained.

He sighed out as he looked away. He called out to one of the guards to get him a phone. They obeyed and returned with a burner phone. He asked the guard to hand it to me.

"Thank you." I said tearfully as I took it from him.

"One minute." He said sternly.

I nodded and quickly dialed my mother's number. She answered after the fourth ring. "Mom!" I screamed.

"Oh my God, Jenna, where are you?" She screamed into the phone.

I sniffled. "Mom, I'm fine. I just wanted you to know I'm fine." I said tearfully.

"Jenna, where are you?" She asked again. "It's in the news that George is dead!" She screamed in a croaky voice.

I nodded and sniffled again. "I know." I almost added "I was there."

"The police found your number on his phone as the last person he spoke to, so they came here looking for you ..." My mom was saying. She was loud enough for everyone in the room to hear her.

I raised my eyebrows. "The police came to you?" I asked as my eyes fell on Levante.

He was already looking at me gravely.

"Yes. They found your phone behind George's office building and ..." My mom was saying.

"Time up, hung up." Levante said angrily.

"Mom, I need to go." I looked away from him and said. "Just know that I had nothing to do with Mr. Wong's death and I'm fine ..."

"Jenna, I'm really worried about you. You need to tell me where you are." My mom said.

Just then Levante snatched the phone and hung up. He turned it off and broke it with his bare hands.

I was startled.

He looked into my eyes sternly. "Let's eat."

I stared at him blankly.

He turned and walked back to the dining table to join his friend.

I snapped. "What are you, a robot?" I asked as I followed him.

He ignored me and sat at the table.

"Hey!" I screamed into his face just as he sat at the table.

He closed his eyes softly, trying to remain calm.

"The police are after me now and they probably think I killed Mr. Wong!" I screamed at him.

He kept his eyes shut.

"But here I am, your hostage, taken for no good reason!" I screamed.

"If you do not keep mute and sit your crazy ass down, I will fuck you up." He said coldly.

His voice and words sent chills down my spine. I quietly sat down next to him at the table.

He sighed out deeply and opened his eyes. He avoided my gaze. He also avoided his friend, who had been staring at him this whole time in shock.

His friend sighed too. "Aye, Levante, what are you doing? Why is she here?" He said softly.

I swallowed and tears formed in my eyes as I asked myself if this was going to be my life forever. I sniffled.

Levante continued to ignore both of us.

Just then the househelp served us.

I thanked her softly and ate slowly as I tried to hold back my tears.

Levante ate quickly. He stood up from the table when he was done.

Both his friend and I looked at him.

He looked at his friend. "Show yourself out when you're done, Chris. I'm going to bed." He said to him then he looked at me. "And you, I'll be waiting for you in my bedroom. And you better not say anything to bring out my bad side." He said sternly and left.

I looked back into my food and ate with tears in my eyes.

Chris watched me quietly. "He's a man of few words and he takes his peace seriously." He said.

I looked up at him slowly.

"I don't know why he didn't kill you," Chris continued. "But I think you should stop pushing him to."

I swallowed the lump in my throat and blinked out my tears as I looked down on the table. I opened my eyes and looked into my food.

Chris finished and told me he was leaving.

I nodded quietly without looking at him.

I finished and went up to the room Levante went into. He was asleep and had laid some pyjamas on the other side of the bed. He had his back turned to that side.

I quietly walked over and picked it up. I quietly reached for my shirt to take it off so I change into the pyjamas.

"Are you not going to shower first?" He asked sternly.

I was startled.

He pointed towards the bathroom. "That's the bathroom. I set a towel and sponge in there for you. Toothbrush too." He said with his back still turned to me.

I swallowed, not wanting to fight. I was drained, and I knew he was too. I picked up the pyjamas and quietly walked to the bathroom to take a shower.

Levante's POV

I watched her reluctantly go to the bathroom to take a shower. I breathed out softly.

What was I going to do with her? I couldn't let her go because she's seen too much. And I don't need any more cooks or househelps. She couldn't be a guard either. She did mention she was in grad school. I wondered what she was studying.

I shut my eyes and tried to catch some sleep.

She returned after some minutes and quietly climbed into bed. She turned her face to the other side and tried to cry quietly.

I sighed out deeply. "Stop it." I said softly but firmly.

Her breath hitched.

"I am aware of my surroundings while I sleep, and you're disturbing me." I explained.

She sniffled. "Too bad I can't kill you in your sleep." She joked.

"Hm." I chuckled.

I heard her turn to face my back. "Did you just laugh at my joke?" She asked, a hint of joy in her voice that she was able to get a chuckle out of me.

"Quiet, Jenna. I'm trying to get some sleep." I said softly.

I felt her try to tickle me.

I jumped out of the bed and squinted my eyes at her, fighting the urge to scream at her so bad.

She smiled at me. "Why are you so stiff?" She asked. "Are you a robot? Did the government plant a chip in your brain to control you?' She joked.

"Do I look like I work for the government?" I asked her sternly.

She knelt down on the bed and used her hands to signal that I should calm down. "Breathe Levante, breathe." She said. "You're too angry."

I squinted my eyes at her. "Why are you full of smiles all of a sudden?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "I can't cry forever. Besides, who knows if you'll put a bullet in my head tomorrow? Let me laugh my last laugh tonight." She said sadly.

I swallowed. "I'm not going to kill you." I said firmly. That I was sure of.

She nodded as she looked away. "Yay, good for me." She said sarcastically and laid back down. "Good night, Levante." She said and turned her back to me.

I sighed out and climbed back into bed. I turned my back to her.

"Just so you know, I'll make life a living hell for you while I'm here." She whispered.

I chuckled. "Good luck with that." I said and shut my eyes to get some sleep.
