"The boss is coming, he's coming!" Someone whispered so as everyone could adjust papers on their tables and stood up straightening their clothes.
A tall guy made his entrance, walking in like a male Alpha. His cologne could be perceived from a distance. He was known worldwide for buying and shutting down a perfume company because he wanted the scent only for himself. So that made him appear in newspapers and was most talked about.
As he walked in, so did the silence. He wore a navy blue suit on top of a white v-neck pullover, his ? demarcated his falling brown hair from his face, hiding his eyes. His pointed nose sprouted out like a rose on top of his well-aligned pink soft lips.
His sneakers explained his quiet entrance.
As he walked past everyone, they bowed in reverence. He was the next in line to inherit the whole company. His male assistant followed him behind with his briefcase, as they made their entrance straight into the elevator without even making eye contact with anyone else. They looked so serious and arrogant, but as soon as the lift closed, they looked at each other and smiled..
Then it opened right into the office, which was labeled 'Mr Carter, CEO of Carter Associates' - Carter Associates was a family business which controlled many big industries in and out of the country, such as; oil, food, banks, etc... They were into every business in and out of the country. All this was owned by one single family. They were the most powerful and well known family in the country.
Mr. Carter was an old fine-looking man who feared his days were coming to an end on earth, so he wanted his grandson to take over the family business before it was too late. He wanted him to understand how things were being operated.
"I'm sorry for calling you unexpectedly. I just don't trust anyone around here right now. I feel like someone wants to sabotage our name, and I can't tolerate a stain on our legacy."
Mr Carter started talking as soon as his grandson stepped into the office.
"Won't you hug your grandson first before diving into business?" With that his grandfather stood up and gave him a tight hug.
"Of course, why won't I hug my grandson?" Immediately, he turned to face the secretary, Sean, who was standing just by Harris's "And of course my other grandson" he added.
Sean was adopted into the Carter family from the day he was abandoned at their front gate
when he was just about 9 years old. They took him in and eventually adopted him. He grew alongside Harris and they had a very loyal bond between them.
Mr. Carter looked at Sean and asked.
"Is he still a womanizer or has he found a permanent one?"
Sean laughed and answered:
"I don't think there will ever be a girl who will change his mind." Then he added, "If there is such a girl, then I'm giving her my..."
Just then Harris intruded.
"No need to promise anything because it's never going to happen, - not in this life. All those girls are only after my money, for they are too superficial." He said and his grandfather laughed.
"Young blood, a time is coming when you are going to refuse food because of a girl." Harris laughed hard, before saying anything,
"Not in your wildest dreams, grandpa".
"We shou-"
"You are never going to give up, are you? You've organized about 70 dates and it never worked out, so don't bother, I won't go!" Harris said.
Mr Carter gave him a gentle tap on the shoulder.
"This is the last one, I promise. Just go this last time and I will never bother you again." Mr Carter insisted. Harris looked at him with a grin.
"The same lines you said last time and here we are again." Harris spouted.
"This is the last I promise. This is from a wise man to another man." He kept on insisting until Harris had no choice but to finally accept.
While walking out, he said 'the last one grandpa, don't forget, - the last one!' Then, he walked away...
Harris Carter was a seductive young man with a pair of dark sparkling eyes. He could give out orders just by a glance. Harris didn't care about being in a committed relationship since for him, no lady was worth having him all to herself. His ego was way too high, however, his smartness and intelligence backed it up.
He had over three master's degrees from well-known prestigious Universities (but he is only 27... it makes it quite unreal to the point of not fitting into any story. He was a business- oriented person and hated any form of failure. Though he acted tough and difficult to please, he had a soft heart and was a sweet person when needed. And once he considered someone a friend and family, one better not mess with them.
When Harris and Sean were in high school, Sean was a very timid and reserved person. He never picked on anyone who attracted and bullied him. One day after school, a feared bully followed Sean and beat him up. Sean had bruises all over. He was in pain, yet he did nothing. He was too scared for that. The next day in school, there was a 911 call, which came to carry a student, - the bully to the hospital. His face was all swollen from being bitten by bees.
Harris was the one behind that. He took his pack bag and collected a whole lot of bees in it and took them to school. There, he pulled the bully to the back of a building and he opened his bag, sending the bully's head to the side... Since then at school, no one ever messed up with Harris and Sean.
Also, Harris had a very bad experience with women that made him lose trust in all of them. He even vowed to himself never to fall in love or get married. However, he decided to go on a date with Sandra as his grandfather asked him to. Little did he know what was awaiting him there.
~~
"Don't go Aliya", everyone in the Van froze as Dave shouted at Aliya.
"Sammy, how many more minutes?" Dave asked restlessly.
"Thirty minutes," Sammy answered.
Sammy's alias Sam is Aliya's son (wait, her son? If the kid is adopted, you better put it here something about it). After Saya's disappearance, Sammy took her place as the fourth member of the crew.
"Stop ignoring me, Liya" Dave shrieked as he faced her back.
"No one is forcing you to be here. You can leave if you wish." Aliya said and Dave busted into laughter.
"What? Come and say that to my face" he challenged her. Then he added "The man you are trying to con, do you even have an idea of who he is, how powerful his family is or what he might do to you if he happens to find out... huh? That is Mr. Carter, from the most powerful family in this country. One cons them and goes free of life in their bodies" Dave said it nonstop.
"Dave, darling, I'm not a child anymore and I know what I'm doing. I'm the one going there to
meet him and not you, so chill." She said "And more to that, we have a whole team with us." she added.
"We are barely four!" Dave chided.
"And so? As you can see no one here is under pressure, we are ok. I think you should leave with your bad energy out of here. I don't need that around me." she slurred without minding how he was going to feel about it.
"It's Mr Harris we are talking about here. Just hacking his security is something thrilling, not to talk about how much we are going to make out of this heist," Sammy said with so much
enthusiasm as he continued pressing buttons on his machine.
"Fine, I'm out of here. Nate, what about you?" Dave asked with so much hope.
"I'm staying, bro" Nate eagerly replied without any second thoughts. "Six minutes are left, Liya, you can start going.
"Miss Sandra just got up and is about to take her bath" Sam said.
It was 9 pm on the dot when Harris entered the restaurant and Aliya was watching him from a distance as he walked in with his hands in his pockets, dressed in a black suit with a striped tie. The aura around him was a turning point for every lady he bypassed.
Aliya froze when she saw him in slow motion. His eyes sparkled in the night like the only array of light, it was like he was the only person in the restaurant at that time. He shifted his hair to the side as he revealed his fine face completely.
His lips took her breath away. She was in a trance as she looked at him.
"Liya, Liya, are you there?" Sammy asked and she shuddered.
"Yes Sam... Sammy, I'm here" she retorted.
"What's going on? There's only two mins and you are not reacting..." he asked.
"Just had a minor setback, but I'm fine now," she said. Nate seized the microphone from Sam.
"Whatever! Just stay focused on our mission. You know what to do and now it's time to start doing it. That lady is getting ready faster than we anticipated".
"Noted!" she retorted.
Harris settled down with his head glued on his phone when suddenly a hand was extended
toward him. Harris looked up with shock. He was blown by her innocent but beautiful face.
Indeed or perhaps his grandfather was right about this particular date.
"Hello, I'm Sandra, your date." She presented herself and for a moment in his life, like never
before, he was startled by a woman's beauty and his breath got caught in his throat...
"So, will you shake my hand or keep me hanging, Mr Carter?" For a moment, he was mesmerized by her beauty but he quickly realized he was probably looking very silly. Slowly, he took her hand and kissed it. He stood up, went to her side of the table and pulled out a chair, like a gentleman, and she sat on it.
She put her phone on the table just by his, for Sammy to copy his password and QR code to access his apartments. However, this was just the phase-one of a long revenge plan.
"What are you staring at, or you have never seen a beautiful lady before?" She was so bold that he couldn't help but smirk, a very brief one though. For the first time, he had a false first impression about someone. When he saw her, she looked so soft that he thought she was going to be a shy type.
"You don't make my eyes shine, young lady, but I must admit that you're intriguing me though," he said recklessly.
"What's the difference?" she glared at him with a slight confusion asking herself if his statement was really necessary.
"Why don't we talk about more interesting things?" He ignored her question.
"Oh, so I'm not interesting enough for you?" She pouted.
"Not really!" he sneered. She frowned.
"Great then, no need to waste my time here, then."
She pulled back the chair without using her hands in the process and stood to leave.
He smirked as he watched her move away. She looked young and very bold. As she left, she didn't even turn nor wink back.
"Interesting!" He murmured to himself with a nasty grin on his face as he added.
'I know her type, always playing hard to get but I bet it won't take me up to a week to lay her in my bed. Trust me, baby, I will fuck you harder for the stress you will put me through!', he thought, since saying this kind of thing in a public place wouldn't sound very... charming.
"S.O.S!"
"Aliya, what are you doing? Why are you living? The download isn't completed!" Sammy wondered aloud. She could hear him from the wireless earphone she had in her left ear.
"Chill, Sam, I know what I'm doing." She whispered back.
'I hope it works!', she was whimpering deep within herself...
"I'm sure I'm not thinking what I'm thinking, - I'm not going to go after her!" he said to himself as he remained seated and tapped his legs on the ground, thoughtfully.
Suddenly, a lady walked up to him eagerly smiling.
"Hello, Harris. You must have been waiting for too long? Seriously, I don't know what happened to my alarm, then the electricity went, oh my gosh, it was horrible..." She spoke non-stop then she glared at him asking. "So will you ask me to sit or not?" She frowned then she smiled "It's fine, I will sit anyway!"
Harris glared at her with shock.
"Who the hell are you? Miss you must have surely missed your table. Excuse me, I have a business to attend to." He said as he Immediately, stood up and stormed off.
"Like seriously?" Sandra exclaimed with shock as he snubbed her and left.
"To think that I canceled all my programs for this evening just to come and see this jerk..." she pouted. "Waiter!" she called and ordered, because since she was already there, she was not going to waste the trip.
"Why did you leave, Liya? That was not our plan and this was our only chance!" Sam cried as Aliya was already out of the restaurant.
"Don't worry, he's soon going to come running after me like a dog. Just stay where you are. ]Watch and learn. " She said confidently then she added, "No man can resist my charms." she smiled.
"I can't wait to see that, hahaha... So you truly thought that the most wanted bachelor in this country would come after you?" Sam taunted.
"Yes of course, why wouldn't he?" Aliya stood by the roadside waving at occupied taxis passing but ignored the unoccupied ones.
"Liya, not to offend you but that dude can have all the ladies he wants so why would he waste his time running after you? It's over we messed up, - I mean you mess up. Come back in the van and let's go home, it's cold outside." Nate said, backing up Sammy's point.
"Hell, no!" She yelled. Just then, her 'prey' came outside.
"Hey, Sandra!" He said while moving towards her. She said nothing as she pretended to be stopping a cab.
"I told you, guys!" she happily murmured to her friends.
"Hey, I thought you would be gone by now."
"And I thought you weren't going to follow me," She furiously glared at him.
"Geez! Why don't we take a walk and start everything over, huh?" he suggested. She hesitated, but finally accepted. He extended his hand. "Harris Carter". She smiled.
"Sandra." She retorted, looking straight into his eyes.
They walked for a couple of minutes then Sandra (Aliya) insisted to stop by the fast food Van and she happily ordered burgers and fries, with sausage.
"I'm sorry, you are surely not used to this kind of food but trust me you will like it," She said.
"You don't know me so stop assuming things. You will be shocked to know all the things I have done." He seriously glared. She was about to retort but just then his phone rang and her heart started pounding.
"Shit!" he frowned. "Just a sec." He excused himself as he took a few steps away from her to answer his call. Fear had taken control of her body, perhaps they were calling to report an infiltration in his database and/or apartment.
He glared at her furiously and he answered the phone call.
"What! How on earth could that happen?" He yelled before dropping the call and moving back to her. "What did you say your name was, again?" He asked. She glared at him reluctantly with her trembling. "Oh, my bad, Sandra, right?" he barely grinned.
"Yeah!" she nodded her head.
"Ok, Sandra, something very important just came up and I need to leave. Will you excuse me?" He asked as he was about to leave but she clutched his wrist softly.
"Please, hold on. What happened?" She curiously asked. It could be about her!
"It's private!" he coldly said. "So where is your car parked?" he glared at her impatiently. She scratched the back of her head as everything got heated for her.
"Oh, my car, - I didn't bring it. Erm, I left it home... Haha, I didn't want to drive today. Remember... I was trying to get a cab...?" She lied shamelessly.
"Hmmm..." he grumbled. He ordered an Uber as they moved back to the restaurant. By the time they arrived at the front of the restaurant, the cab was already there waiting for them.
"See you, soon!" he said as he helped her into the cab he ordered. He locked the door. The car took off while his car was brought to the front of the restaurant. He got in and drove off immediately.
"Car, turn back!" Aliya said to the driver and his eyes widened in which he hesitated. "Ma'am but, he..." He tried to speak but she shut him up immediately.
"Take me back, right now!" She yelled and the driver didn't try to argue anymore.
*The day before the date*
The sunrays shooted from the dark clouds, and she took some calculated steps like she was going to deliver a speech. She had a pair of white loose trousers under a white opened middle jacket with a red half-verse that matched her lip balm and shoes.
Her shadow gave her a great bossy look. Her walking pronounced her elegance with style as she held a diamond purse. Each step she took, everyone turned around and gave her at least two minutes of attention.
Her perfume was the most drawing factor. As she bypassed two old ladies and they whispered to one another, 'Why is such a beauty walking under this harsh sun? She deserves a car. She needs to do justice to her outfit by driving in one of those expensive sports cars', they murmured.
Indeed, she was a Does it mean she is a swordswoman? A fighter with weapons? Because if that is about her looks, I don't think this expression will make sense
It was already about three to four years since they ran out of the orphanage and only three of them were left. That was a very tragic moment for the crew...
Aliya 22 years old, even more stunning than before, stood about 10 meters from the building she exited running when a middle 50s round shabby-looking man shouted,
"Stop there, bitch!" She dialed a number.
"Damn, where are you Nate? Not another one of yours again. Come and get me out of this mess!"
"I'm just behind you, Liya love." Was Nate's answer?Just as she dropped the call, 5 men in black were already tailing her, and she started running.
Damn, she was so good running on needle-like heels with no hitch like they were sneakers.
However, this wasn't her first time. She had done this countless times. Just then a sports car popped out from the corner.
When she was about to find a way to get in, -- in style, Nate whirled the car at a very high speed, smashing the brakes and accelerator at once. As the door swing opened, she jumped in like it was a circus ring.
"The day I get caught, I'm going to keep your life savings with me in jail to feed my dogs and, I-"
"I'm a last-minute man and you will never get caught, love," He said smiling with his dimples as they went deep inside like a dark hole. His coffee brown eyes could melt a mambo stick, along with his dark hair falling on his forehead, almost reaching his eyes.
His well-shaped brows aligned one after another, with his well-structured white block teeth as it lies beneath his pink soft lips, his upper lip smaller than the downer part. All these extra features aided to give him such an alluring smile that could warm every lady's heart. Except that of Aliya, of course, because she has always told him that he was ugly.
It was a long ride that gradually came to an end as Nate slowed down when they approached a duplex, -- all glassy with an oceanic view. Just the breeze from it was priceless and healing.
The place was jointly owned by Aliya, Dave and Nate. They just wanted to have something together, like a warehouse where they could come back together as a family before going to their own houses. It was like their private repository and it was a little far from downtown.
They stepped out of the car and walked into the house.
"And how did my best girl handle today's business?" Dave asked.
"If I'm not in jail right now, that means it was great, thanks to my skills, - and heavens. Once more, Nate made his grand appearance, underestimating how fatal it could be" she complained.
"Not again, Nate. I have warned you against your hero rush hour swag," Dave frowned.
"I'm best at what I do and there's no way I'm ever going to miss my moment bro," Nate said then he added "I know you guys want me out of here to catch up, I'm gone. Don't just break a table today. Your room is upstairs not downstairs" Nate screamed as he exited.
"Shut up, Nate" Aliya and Dave all shouted at once then they laughed and looked at each other, as they slowly drew closer.
"I missed you all day," Dave said and Aliya just smiled as she gave him a seductive look.
"Did you actually miss me or the features beneath my dress?" she asked. He pulled her to him and her chest jammed his hard broad's one. Dave had grown into a very handsome-looking man.
When they were done, she was lying on his chest.
"You are my heaven, Liya," Dave said with a heavy smile on his face as he added, "I love you so much, Liya and I don't see any further future without you. I mean, I don't know what my life will look like without you." Words honestly escaped his mind.
She said nothing and simply smiled as usual. Then, she leaned on his bare chest facing the ceiling.
"I love you too, Dave" She finally said and Dave's eyes widened with shock. He was happy but still, he had to contain his excitement and behave like a gentleman.
"So how did it go?" he asked.
"It went well, just a bitmore and we will never need to steal cash again in our entire lives," she said.
"I thought we had discussed this Liya and this was the last mission," Dave said...
Aliya immediately jerked her head off his chest and faced him.
"Says who? Who told you that you could decide for me?" she scowled. She hated being given orders and worse, on how to live her life.
"Why do you think you went on this quest alone?" He asked.
"Because it's what I do best!" She bragged.
"No, Liya, it's because I wanted you to enjoy the whole game without any interruption and
distraction. I wanted you to have your moment the way you love so that you could be satisfied for once. What else do you need? We already have all we need to have; a healthy life, a beautiful house, money, ..., Everything we ever prayed for so, what else do you really need?" he chided.
"I'm not satisfied! I need more satisfaction than you could probably never give me! So it will be over for me only when I say it's over. And right now, I'm not ready to stop!" With that said, she got up and stormed off to her room upstairs in her panty and breast wear.
"Come on Aliya... Come back here!" he screamed, in vain.
"Never!" she said as she banged the door behind her.
"Fuck!" He furiously hit the floor in dismay...
....
Nate was seated in the compound sipping whiskey with a sort of heavy heart, feeling so sad. So bad that unconsciously he clasped too tightly the glass, breaking it into his hand, cutting his palms.
"Ouch! Shit!" and he was bleeding...
Just when he got up to go clean his hand, his phone rang and he immediately picked it up. It was a private number on the Id caller.
"Who are you and what the hell do you want?" Nate asked rudely..
"So what have you decided: are you giving us the girl or not?" Nate's eyes widened in shock at the sound of his voice rendering him speechless.
"And you know what it means to tell me no!" the voice said confidently and Nate still had nothing to say. Which girl was the voice talking about?
