Supreme Alpha's Craving

CHAPTER ONE

Karen's eyelids felt very heavy to open and all she could do was listen to the voices that were speaking close to her. The voices were that of a female and a male. The voice of the male appealed to her and had this soothing effect it offered her injured body but most importantly, it sounded WORRIED!

She decided to listen to the on going conversation and see if she could get a tip on what was going on.

"She should be awake soon. We just need to exercise patience" the feminine voice spoke.

"It has been solid four days Kate and there is still no sign from her" the soothing masculine voice said.

Karen remembered being so excited to see the sunlight and feel its warmth on her skin after being deprived of it for three whole years. Then, she arrived in a valley and there was no single soul around, till a ferocious looking beast of a car rounded the bend and hit her . It sent her flying some yards away and just before she was sucked into the void of darkness that was closing in on her eyes, she saw a man come out of the car and run towards her. As he crouched by her side, she blanked out.

"Her vitals are stable and she should be...oh, her fingers just twitched" the voice assumed to be 'Kate' said.

Karen felt Kate by her side and immediately her eyes flew open and she widened them challengingly.

"Not one finger on me" she said with emphasis.

"I see you have been awake for a while. I just need to do some basic check ups and you should be good to go. What is...?"

As Dr Kate was yet speaking, Karen jerked up to a sitting position and she felt her head twirl and the room suddenly become brighter. She began to cough and she placed a hand on her chest to calm herself down but the bouts of cough only increased.

"Easy there little one" she heard the soothing voice say by the other side of my bed.

How did he get there?

He handed her an opened bottle of water and she chugged it down greedily.

Some drops of water flowed from the sides of her mouth as she drank the water but she could feel her parched throat receiving life. She sighed in relief and turned to her side as she heard a chuckle.

It was the mystery man!

She turned to face him and his facial appearance was as appealing as his voice.

His black shiny hair was packed to the back of his head in a slick fashion and a strand was out of place and fell over his eye. His eyebrows were dark and thick and the left brow had a clean slash almost at the middle.

Karen's eyes travelled to his piercing and captivating eyes that had her fixed in a spot.

He was looking at her and it was like he wanted to search the depths of her sad soul. Her eyes journeyed to his Roman nose and he tilted his head as if to give her a perfect view of his jaw that sported a Balbo beard. The advantage of the Balbo beard was that it gave him a well trimmed moustache.

She looked from the moustache to his thin lips that were set in a straight line and when a smile grazed his lips, she was released from whatever trance she was in.

"Like what you see little one?" he asked or more of teased and his voice fully brought her out of her reverie.

"Hi, I'm Ralph, Ralph Hernandez. Nice to meet you!" he said and stretched out a hand to her.

She dropped the empty bottle on the sheet that covered her and shook him. Her hand felt so small in his as he shook her firmly.

"Hi, I'm Karen Zayn" she said and withdrew her fingers from his hold as he continued to have her hand in his.

"Karen" he breathed, barely above a whisper and his eyes dimmed.

"Sir, I think I should properly check how she is now" interrupted Dr Kate.

"Alright, I would get going now. I have some things I should handle in the pa..." Ralph began but stopped like he was trying to correct his statement as he gave Dr Kate 'the corner eye'.

"...in the parish. See you later Karen"

"Yeah Ralph" Karen replied and watched as the black coat he had on, swayed behind him before the door was shut and she was left with the Doctor.

The room was now in silence.

"So you are Karen, right?" Dr Kate asked.

With a nod she answered in the affirmative.

"You don't seem to have a concussion and you can remember your name but can you remember what you were doing in Brooks Valley?"

"Brooks Valley? That is where I am? So the tunnel from my pack led to Brooks Valley, the valley between werewolves and humans" thought Karen

"I am in Brooks Valley?" Karen asked.

"Yes you are. That means you don't know how you got here?" Dr Kate asked.

"I remember being hit by a monster size car and my body in the air for about five seconds before slamming the asphalt floor" Karen said trying to rack her brain to ascertain if it was truly through the tunnel that she arrived in Brooks Valley that was about three hundred miles away from Grey Woods Pack, her Pack.

"That would be all for now. In two days, you should be fit to leave the hospital. I would send up the meal Al... I mean Sir Ralph, has prepared for you"

"Sir Ralph prepared a meal for me?" Karen asked in disbelief.

"Yes he did. I'll be on my way now" Dr Kate said.

As Karen was left alone, she took the opportunity to look around where she found herself. She knew this was a hospital as Dr Kate had mentioned earlier but the room looked too luxurious to be in a hospital. For starters, the sheets that covered her were super fluffy, there was a large television on the wall that faced her and the painting on the walls didn't look like some rough paint that could be easily purchased down the street.

There was a mini table by her side that held a telephone, the remote for the television and a white bedside lamp.

She looked to the left of the room and she saw a door, that likely leads to the bathroom.

As if on cue, she felt like taking a leak. She peeled the sheets off her and swung a leg downwards to the cold time. Her other leg joined the other and she straightened up.

She took a step and then another and then another before her knees wobbled beneath her and she dropped to the floor.

Her legs were still weak after all!

"Stupid human body! So freaking weak!" Karen cursed.

She remained that way for a while before she began to use her elbow to crawl and drag herself towards the bathroom as she cursed her cousin, Luke Zeref for being responsible for the situation she was in. With every drag and pull on the cold tile, she began to remember it all.

The killing of her parents, her imprisonment, how he made her lose her wolf, how he is responsible for making her run away from her Pack and making her get hit by a vehicle that led to her being in this detestable situation.

"I swear by the death of my parents that Luke Zeref was going to pay someday" Karen said again as tears gathered at the run of her eyes.

She dragged, crawled and pulled herself till she was close to the bathroom door. She stared at the knob of the door and tried pulling herself up to turn it but the lower part of her body still felt weak and she was in pains.

Suddenly, she heard a knock but before she could give any response, the person behind the door kicked the door open.

The door opened to reveal a boy who should be at his late teens. He had a grey coat on, some black pants and a pair of black boots. He ruined his outfit with a purple scarf he had around his neck.

She watched as his eyes went to the hospital bed and confusion stretched on his face that looked so much like...like Ralph's!

" Is he Ralph's son? Is Ralph married? Why should I care?" She asked herself.

The boy entered the room with a tray of what Karen supposed as Dr Kate's promise before kicking the door shut again. The boy turned around and raised his head to the air, he took two sniffs of the air and his eyes abruptly went to Karen's form on the cold tile.

"Do I look that small only to be noticed now or are you just stupid?" thought Karen

"There you are! But what are you doing on the floor?" he asked.

"Can you just help me to the bathroom first?" Karen asked in a desperate tone that didn't sound anything like her.

She was really pressed

"Oh sure, pardon my manners! I was only concerned with carrying out the Pack Doctor's order" he said as he rushed to her side. With his help, she managed to sit up.

"By Pack Doctor, you mean Dr Kate?" Karen asked unsure.

"Yes Dr Kate...Oh cripes!" he exclaimed and his hand flew to his mouth.

"What's wrong?" Karen asked, alarmed.

"I wasn't meant to refer to her as the Pack doctor before you. You weren't supposed to know that..."

Katen cut off his rants by saying, "she is a werewolf. That means Ralph also is a werewolf and...and"

"You mean Alpha Ralph?" he asked

"Ralph is an Alpha?" she blurted sharply.

"This isn't good for me! When Luke discovers that I have escaped, he would order for neighbouring packs to search for me and Ralph, also being an Alpha, would gladly give me up. No wonder I felt a dangerous aura from him despite the fact that his voice seemed to soothe me." Karen thought to herself.

"Miss, you look kinda pale," he said.

"Oh, it must be the aftermath of the accident" she lied glibly.

"Alright. Please I want to plead with you, do not let Alpha Ralph know I spilled the fact that he is a werewolf"

"Why? Did he not want me to know?" I asked as possible explanations encircled my brain.

"Well Dr Kate cannot make out if you are a werewolf or a human because even though your bones healed properly though not as fast as a werewolf, no wolf can be sensed within you"

"Oh that! Right now, my focus should be escaping from this place. This is Brooks Valley, so I have a chance of mixing with humans and escaping" Karen said to herself.

"Let's get you to the toilet" the boy said as he tugged under Karen's arm and pulled her up. He turned the knob of the door and helped her to the very seat of the toilet.

"Thanks, I did call you when I'm done" said Karen

She peed and a satisfied sigh left her lips at the feel of the release.

She tried to stand on her feet as she rested her back on the wall and pulled her pants up.

She wanted to call his name when she realised she had not asked for his name.

"Hey! Hey!" Karen called

"You done in there?" The boy hollered back at her.

"Yes I am"

He came in but as he was about to help her, her knees wobbled again but he caught her before she could hit the cold tiled floor. He bent down and scooped her into his arms. Karen wanted to protest at the proximity but decided against it as she felt so exhausted already and she felt comfortable in his presence compared to Ralph's presence that felt dangerous. Only his voice and his eyes made her feel a little safe.

"I never got to ask what your name is" Karen said.

"Oh! I'm Taurus by name but everyone refers to me as Safe. You want to know why?" Taurus asked with a playful smile.

"Because I make people fe..." started Taurus but a cold, bone chilling voice filled with menace resonated through the room the next second.

"Que esta pasando aqui?"

It was Ralph and he looked pissed.

Note: Que esta pasando aqui? - What is going on here?

CHAPTER TWO

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" Ralph's wolf brawled and chanted in his head.

Oh, how long I have searched and waited for my chosen mate.

Four mornings ago, his wolf had been feeling very antsy and his mood was unstable. He had lashed out on anyone who went unduly out of order in the mansion and even nanny Freya, the only woman who he listens to, was not exempted.

He had a very important meeting that morning in Brooks Valley with some humans and the mood he found himself was not an appreciable mood to be in since he was going to be in the same room with humans.

Despite the fact that he is a werewolf, he is widely known to humans as he owns a lot of business empires in their lands.

He had urged his Beta and only friend, Stephan Stone to drive very fast as they were a little behind time already.

As they rounded a bend, the car collided with something or rather someone. At the point of collision, his wolf had cried within him, 'MATE'!.

He jerked out of the vehicle and the next second, he was squatted by her side.

Mate? Like the other part of me and the completion of my existence?

He couldn't concentrate on anything as he saw her unmoving body till Stephan came by his side and tried to lift her.

He bared his fangs at him and he was sure his eyes were bloodshot at that moment. He lifted her and ran to his car and soonest the car was fast eating the asphalt road.

She was covered in dirt that stuck to her hair and skin but he wasn't bothered in the least. She still smelt like blue orchid with a hint of vanilla and he placed his nose in the crook of her neck.

He caught Stephan glancing once in a while at them through the internal rear mirror, probably thinking of who she could be that Ralph was acting that way with her.

"Quit staring at her, she is your Luna! You should focus on the road ahead as we would like to avoid another accident!" Ralph said and he saw Stephan's eyes slightly widen in surprise at the revelation. He caught a glimpse of his own eyes in the mirror and they were red, his wolf was on the surface.

He mind linked his pack Doctor, Dr Kate that works at Brooks Hospital so she could prepare for his arrival.

When they got to the hospital, people inside the hospital stared at Ralph, probably wondering who the girl he was cradling was and as the stretcher was arriving, a shutter clicked, indicating that someone had taken a picture of them.

"Damn humans and their lack of sense for some privacy!" thought Ralph.

Stephan went off to handle the person whi took the picture while Ralph waited outside the Intensive Care Unit.

"If anything happens to her, don't bother coming out of there" Ralph mind linked Dr Kate.

Ralph knows Dr Kate is more than capable but at that moment his heart was palpitating so hard, he felt it would soon leave his chest while his wolf was making things worse by suggesting he shifts and go after his mate but he restrained him.

Few excruciating hours later, the glass doors slid open and he saw Dr Kate leading a group of other doctors and they were coming out.

Dr Kate came to face him and she was jittery standing before him.

"She is out of critical state for now and should be awake in the next twelve hours. Is that...is that all?" asked Dr Kate.

"Yes, that would be all for now and...thanks for your assistance" said Ralph.

Dr Katelooked at Ralph a little surprised before replying, "Thanks Alpha"

"Can I go in and see her?" Ralph asked before she could scurry away.

"Not now but soon, Alpha"

"Why can't I see her now? I demand to see her now!" Ralph growled with his nostrils flared.

Dr Kate bowed down and went on his knees immediately.

"You can't enter the room to see her but you can see her through the transparent doors " she spoke hurriedly.

"That would do" Ralph said as he walked towards where his mate was.

Looking at her through the transparent doors, he grew angry at the fact that he was responsible for the state she was in. Her skin looked very pale but she looked beautiful still.

He remembered when he had held her in the car, how her bow shaped lips were slightly open and her button nose released some carbon dioxide. It thrilled him and he wondered how old she could be. He came to the conclusion that she could not be any older than nineteen. The only thing he didn't like we're her hollow cheeks and frail body but she still looked beautiful.

Ralph had waited for three more days before Karen could wake up and he was the happiest man Selene had ever made when she woke up.

"Karen" Ralph said when she told him her name and he felt like he could taste her name on his tongue.

The meeting he was supposed to attend to on the day of the accident had been postponed till today and he could not delay the humans any longer so he had to excuse himself.

During the meeting, his thoughts were solely on her. Her blue bright baby eyes, her perfectly proportioned lips and her oval face. Immediately the meeting was over, he headed to the hospital and to her ward You but what awaited him and his wolf was unexpected.

TAURUS HAD HIS MATE IN HIS ARMS!!!

Ralph has been the one having sleepless nights and all he has been able to have was a brief handshake with her and he splendidly recollect the warm spark that flooded his body at their skin contact and that was all but he,...Taurus was carrying her like she was his while she is conscious, meaning she agreed to it.

"What is going on here?" Ralph asked thunderously and their heads turned in unison to his direction.

"Tío!" Taurus acknowledged.

Ralph ignored him and arched one of his thick brows, demanding an explanation.

"Dr Kate told me to bring your visitor some food since she can't trust any other person to do it" he answered.

"It doesn't seem like you are doing just that" lashed Ralph.

"Actually, I don't really mind at all. I was the one who allowed him to since my legs are a bit...weak for now" Karen spoke up.

"She asked him to? If only I was here!" thought Ralph.

"Alright then. I'll take over from here" Ralph said and went over to them.

"It's no biggie, I kind of prefer Taurus carrying me" insisted Karen and Ralph's insides coiled, he began to exude more of his overwhelming presence and the hairs on Taurus' body began to stand and it seemed like the wind was moving in a different direction at that time. Karen could feel it also, but not as intense since she has Alpha's blood running in her and for another reason unknown to her.Unlike Taurus, he seemed to have read the room at that moment and he immediately sooke up.

"I have to hand you over Lady, I kind of have somethings to do right now" he said and placed her in my outsretched arms.

"Right now?" she asked with a tinge of sadness in her voice.

"Yes" Taurus said and began to head for the door.

"Would you come back to see me?" asked Karen.

Ralph's brain did a flip at Karen's question, he could not register why she would be needing Taurus again. If she needed anybody, he was here!

Taurus looked from Karen to Ralph for a go- ahead. Ralph could not say 'no' as Karen's eyes were on him, so he gave a curt nod of affirmation that was not from his heart..

"I guess that has settled it then. It's a yes" said Karen, mirth dripping from her voice and the blue orbs of her eyes beaming brightly.

"Yes it is. I'll be back tomorrow" Taurus said before running off.

As Taurus closed the door behind him, Ralph sent him a message through the mind-link, "I agreed to you coming back to see her but never permitted it to be tomorrow. You really are becoming brave Taurus"

Before Taurus could render an apology, Ralph shut the mind link and moved to the bed to place Karen.

Karen's hands around Ralph's neck were loose and Karen wasn't looking at him, her eyes roamed every part of his chest but didn't meet his eyes. This irked Ralph and he began to feel jealous because Karen was so care free when she was speaking to Taurus some seconds ago but now, with him, her mate, she is so uptight.

As he was about to place Karen on the bed, he noticed a bug on the bed.

"How did a bug get into such a luxurious room? This hospital is definitely in for a lot of trouble! What if it had bitten my mate?" thought Ralph.

"Hang on Karen, there is a bug on the bed" Ralph said as Karen was about to slide from arms to the bed in a hurry.

The next moment, Karen's legs were tightly wrapped around Ralph's waist like a koala bear and her arms circled his neck tightly.

He didn't mind though, how could he?

He used the television remote to push the bug down from the bed before using his Tomaso Italian boot to squish it.

Karen was breathing rapidly in the crook of Ralph's neck and her breath came out in hot puffs on his neck, as she whispered, "No! No! No"

"What exactly happened to her? This was beyond random fear for bugs?" Ralph thought

Ralph hiked her higher on his waist before settling down on the bed, with her still in his arms. He began to gently tap her back and whisper reassuring words to her.

About five minutes passed by and they just stayed that way till a knock interrupted the moment and this seemed to jolt Karen out of whatever phase she was in and away from Ralph.

Ralph felt like tearing the head of whoever was behind the door, far from his or her neck.

Karen pulled away from his neck and Ralph saw when recognition clicked in her eyes on who she was with and the position they were in.

She jumped up and off him.

Ralph wanted to pull her back to him but he didn't want to scare her away.

Dr Kate came in and Ralph stood up from Karen's bed and smoothened the creases of his Italian coat.

"Uhmm, sorry to interrupt but I just came to check how she is because Taurus said she couldn't walk properly on her own" Dr Kate said.

"Alright run your check ups" Ralph said and chose a chair close to the window and watched as Dr Kate did her thing.

As he watched Dr Kate and Karen, his mind reeled back to how Karen was some minutes ago and he felt a tightening in his chest.

"When my car hit her, she was covered in slimy dirt from the crown of her head to the base of her feet. Something must have happened to her or someone...someone did something to her. If I find out who this person is, I did make sure I rip his heart right from his..."

"Alpha, I think you did like to...to uhm, cool off" Dr Kate said.

"Why?" Ralph asked and when he heard his growl-like voice and saw the look of shock on his Mate's face, he understood that the color of his eyes must have changed. His wolf needed to run free or either sink his fangs in some flesh to calm the anger he was feeling.

Dr Kate said nothing more and he decided to think of something else so he could create a warm environment for his mate and to also cool off.

Dr Kate was raising Karen's left leg and when she reached a certain height of the raise, Karen let out a suppressed cry but Ralph heard it. Ralph was by her side the next instant.

"Can you guys stop making it so evident that you are werewolves?" Karen asked with a crossed look on her face.

Dr Kate and Ralph stopped in their tracks and looked at her stupefied.

Note: Tío means Uncle

CHAPTER THREE

"Can you both stop making it so obvious that I am in the midst of werewolves?" Karen asked, unable to contain the anger she was feeling.

Dr Kate looked shocked but Ralph just bore an unreadable expression.

"How did you know?" Ralph asked.

"Well, my Doctor here, has addressed you as Alpha two times in a row" replied Karen as she folded her arms on her chest.

"I'm sorry Alpha" Dr Kate said and bowed her head towards Ralph.

"It's alright Kate but what are you Karen?" Ralph suddenly asked.

"Me?! Well, I am a werewolf"

"You have no wolf, how can you claim to be one? There is only one explanation in case what you say is true. You were tortured until..." Dr Kate began to say and Karen became angry.

"I don't need you or anyone prying into my business" Karen said and raised her face defiantly towards the both of them.

"You need to..." Dr Kate began but Ralph stopped her, "It's alright Kate, let's leave Karen to have her meal" Ralph said and Karen watched his hand go to Kate's shoulder for about three seconds.

They turned around to go but Karen asked a question that had been troubling her "What pack do you lead Ralph?"

There was silence for about five seconds before Ralph answered, "You should rest now Karen. We would discuss about this tomorrow".

When they left, the loud grumble from Karen's belly reminded her of the fact that she had not touched her food as her mind was devising plans on how to leave the hospital. She leaned on her side as she lifted the tray and brought it to her laps.

The food was plain porridge and if not because she was so hungry she would not have touched it. She took a spoon of the porridge and contrary to the taste she was expecting, it tasted nice.

She ate more than half of it and when she was satisfied, she returned the tray. She wanted to continue her thoughts but she became dizzy and her eyes couldn't concentrate on anything. She soon slept off as she could not fight it!

"How long are you going to be like this Karen? I am moved with so much pity whenever I see you in this state, but you brought this upon yourself, you know? Accept me as your Alpha, kneel before me!" shouted Luke behind the gate of her cell.

"Never! I would never kneel before you freaking bastard" Karen screamed.

"Very well then. You brought this upon yourself." He said and walked away.

Karen began to quiver as she knew what was coming next.

Two huge pack warriors entered into her cell and they pulled her up roughly from the ground she was seated on.

"Let me go! I am Karen Zayn, daughter of Alpha Thomas Zayn. I command you to let me go now!" she screamed and tried to kick them but they only guffawed at her efforts.

"We are not warriors of your pack Lady Karen" one teased, "so we do not take orders from you" the other completed.

They yanked her arms apart and connected her wrists with the silver chains on the wall.

She yelped in pain as the silver ate into her skin and her already weak wolf whimpered within her.

They did the same thing to her ankles and the bigger of the two used his fingers to trace her skin from where he connected the chain to her inner thigh while the other watched on and her skin was lined with goose bumps in utter disgust.

She threw her head forward till her mouth could reach his ear and she bit it hard. She didn't let go until she tasted blood on her tongue and the other punched her belly hard.

"You maniac!" the man that got bitten screamed and Karen smiled as she saw his eyes open as wide as saucers as he clutched his ear. He punched her belly and Karen spat out blood as tears gathered at the rim of her eyes.

"That's more like it bitch!" said the other and he grabbed a huge tuft of her hair and pulled it back. Karen's skin was on fire and her scalp was burning and the tears she had been holding finally streamed down her face.

They let her go and left her cell but Karen knew that it was beyond over. Soon, water began to pour into the cell, how they did that, Karen had no idea. She saw as the water rose to her ankle and proceeded to her belly and then to her neck before it passed her head and she had to hold her breath. She held her breath for a while and tried to pull her wrists and ankles out from the chains but they did not even budge. When she could no longer hold her breath, she began to gag and fight for life beneath the water but it would seem like the pool of water suddenly turned into a pile of bugs that covered her and the bugs were climbing every part of her body.

She was hallucinating!

As she struggled in her dream, she was holding unto someone very tight but she had no idea who she was holding.

It was morning and Ralph had come to take her to his pack where he felt she would be more protected but when he came there, she was still fast asleep. It was like the drug he had asked Dr Kate to put in her meal was very effective. He was about to let her sleep on when she began to whisper, "No! No! No!". Ralph rushed to her side in a flash and saw how she shut her eyes very tight and how sweat broke out on her forehead.

He tapped her hand to wake her up but she held unto his hand tightly and her fingers pinched his skin and blood trickled out. Ralph knew that she needed to be woken up from whatever she was dreaming of at the moment, so he released his hand from her hold and scooped her to his lap. He was scared when despite the movement she did not wake up. He shook her as he began to call her name, "Karen! Karen!"

She opened her eyes to that voice that has a soothing effect on her and immediately Ralph saw that she was awake, he hugged her. Karen felt warmth and not the extreme cold that was enveloping and crawling on her some seconds ago so she embraced the warmth. Ralph felt her small hands around him and he hugged her tighter.

"Don't let me go" Karen said in between her sobs and Ralph was shocked at what she said.

After a while, Karen seemed to have calmed down and was about to release herself from Ralph but Ralph held her in place.

"What...what are you trying to do?" Karen asked confused.

"I won't let you go Karen. Even if you let me go, I won't" said Ralph.

"What insane gibberish are you saying? Let me go this instance!" Karen demanded.

The next moment, Ralph placed her on the bed and held her hands above her head and brought his face close to hers.

"What do you think you are doing?" Karen asked as she tried to release her hands from his grasp.

"Listen to me Karen Zayn, You.Are.My.Mate and I.Am.Your.Mate. Whatever is happening to you automatically concerns me, so stop trying to push me off every freaking time. Do you hear me?"

"What manner of stupidity is this? I have no mate, you... you can't be my mate" she said and Ralph felt a pain in his heart like she was rejecting him.
