Supernova

In a hospital, a woman with beads of sweat on her face wailing could be seen.

I can see the baby coming, you can do it, just a little push ma'am." the doctor gave a her s little encouragement, urging her not to give up.

"I can do it, I can do it." the woman wailed, screaming using all her strength to push.

The baby came out and the woman fainted due to stress.

"It is a girl, she is so pretty." One of doctors there said feeling elated that the delivery was a success after how many hours.

* Somewhere in a cave*

A man could be seen bending his head chanting some words, suddenly, he felt strange vibrations all over his body as he rose his head up, he notice some words written on the wall that he could not comprehend.

After it was done, sparkles of light emitted from the wall and went out of the cave. He followed the light as it hits the moon with a mesmerizing appearance.

He saw the moon shining so bright surrounded by stars twinkling round it like they were dancing. The light continued it's journey after hitting the moon.

The man continued to follow it, till he met himself in Corer hospital. The light stoped as it reached ward 119, then he heard a cry of a baby, some words appeared again on the door then he understood, the prophecy had been fulfilled.

He went inside and saw a man and a woman looking at the baby with love. They turned their heard towards the man and were wondering what a seer is doing here. The seer went towards the baby, chanted some words and kissed the child's forehead, he sensed a great power from the child then it dawned upon him who the child was.

He took a bracelet and wore it on the child and dropped it in a cradle, while looking at the child with respect, he said the prophecy had come to pass, this shook the child's parent. The seer looked at them and said "she is a supernova."

"But the supernova died 1000 years ago, did he rebirth into our child ?" asked the father while shaking with fear.

"Yes, the supernova died but your baby is not the same as the other ones." The seer said

"What other ones ?" The mother questioned him

"There were other supernovas but they are dead ,every hundred years the title of the supernova is always given to another supernatural but after the last supernova, it was not given until now. So your child is the next supernova but there is a prophecy attached to it only the gods can protect her. That is all I can tell you." The seer told them and he left the ward.

"Hun, what will happen to our baby now ?" The mother carried her baby from the cradle, holding her tight to her, visibly shaking. She looked at her baby with love, wondering what the seer meant. He did not explained to them in details.

"Don't worry dear as the seer said the gods will protect her." The father assured his wife and kissed the baby's forehead.

"I know the gods will protect her, let us leave the city for safety, she's still a baby, she can't handle these things." The mother lamented bitterly.

"Okay, I will do anything to put your mind at rest." He said.

"Thanks Hun , so what shall we name her ?"

" What do you want to name her ?"

"Alyssa."

"Alyssa, I like it." The father looked at the child and said "Alyssa welcome to the world."

Alyssa's POV.

" Mum, please." I beg my mom, carrying the tray filled with apples, hoping she will just heed to me. I have been begging to let me go visit my grandparents ever since I knew them or ever since I knew about their town.

I have heard a lot of things from my parents and my grandparents anytime we video chat, it's been I have talked to my grandparents all thanks to mom.

I don't get why she can't send to me to the town she and dad grew up in to visit my wonderful grandparents. I huff in annoyance as I followed her like a puppy wanting to collect it's treat but in my case I want to persuade her in agreeing to let me go.

Oh God, my mom can be infuriating sometimes. It is not like I'm going to spend all my life there.

" Don't start again." She let out a groan as we walked inside the parlour.

Oh trust me I'm going to start all over again until you say yes and take me to your town. This is my tenth try, I think...I guess I've lost count.

" What are you begging her for again ?" I heard dad asks, he is siting on a rocking wooden chair, reading the current newspaper. He stares at me as he adjusts his glasses.

" If I tell you, it is not like as if you are going to allow me since the love of your life does not want me to go." I say with a pout as I drop the tray on the small stool which is infront of him.

He smiles, " You can never know if I might allow you or if I can influence her decision."

" Can you ?"

" I will try, just tell me what you want."

I look at mom who gives me an intimidating stare, her eyes dared me to tell to dad and see the consequences of my actions. She knows dad have a soft spot for me and he will do anything for me just like he will do to her.

I smirk at her knowing fully well I'm daring her.

I turn to dad with a teary eyes, " I want to go and visit grandpops and Nana but mom won't allow me, I just want to see how your town looks like, please do agree to it." I plead with him.

" I'm sure she did it for a reason, to protect you." Father says like he is trying to reason with me.

Don't tell me him too does not want me to go, what kind of overprotective parents do I have ?

Oh God !

Thank God I took acting class. I let my bottom lip jut out as I force tears to flow down to my cheeks, thinking about the sad movie I watched last two weeks aid in my tears. " I...just...want to see my grandparents..."

" You are seeing them, aren't you ?" She interrupts me.

I look at her with a teary eyes, " Not like that, I want to feel them, touch them, hug them, do a lot of things with them. Most of all explore the town you grew up in." I say with a smile on my face but quickly wipe it off.

" I won't be able to do that if you don't let me go," I tell my dad, I walk up to him then kneel infront of him. " Dad please do let me go, please." I bend my head lowly as my tears drop to the floor. I hope he is moved with my tears and if he is not then no more going to their town.

I heard him sigh then I brace myself for what he is about to say, " Okay, I'm letting you go visit my parents but you have to be careful, that town is not a safe place."

My eyes lit up in happiness as he said that, I can't believe after all this years of begging I have finally get to go to Alhezia town.

" Do you really mean it ?" I ask him to be sure of what he said, looking up to him.

I'm a damn idiot, I should have not ask him. What of if he change his mind... What was I thinking ?

" Yes I meant it." He says with a smile which I return back.

I did a little happy dance in my head. Yay! I'm going to Alhezia.

I let out a squeal in happiness as I went to hug him " Thank you Pappie." I tell him while hugging him, he laughs patting my back, he said " It's no problem."

I smile as I pull away, I went to hug mom who is frowning at dad. I laugh silently as I hug her. " Mom don't worry, I will be fine. I'm not staying there forever." I tell her, it felt like I'm reassuring her that I will come back to her.

" You better don't." She says.

I let out a smile and thanked them once again before going upstairs to my room.

Immediately Alyssa went upstairs, her mom turn to give her husband a disappointed stare, angry at him that he got moved by his daughter's tears.

"Darl, frowning does not suit that beautiful face of yours." He teases her with a smile, hoping she won't scold him for falling for his daughter's tears. He could do anything for her just for her not to be in tears again.

Her face blushes crimson red but she quick to figure out what he was doing, trying to make her swoon with sweet words then let her forget about scolding him. " Don't you dare tell me any sweet words, I can't believe you told her you allow her to go to that dangerous. What of if she get killed ?" She shouts in anger.

"Darl, lessen your voice," He tell her trying to hush her, " I know you are mad that I agree to let her go but what can I do, if I don't accept or let her go, it would be worse. She will find a way to go there with or without our permission at least we can know about her whereabout, how she is doing and coping. She will be in safe hands even if my father is not the best person for her to stay with, she will still be safe. Let her go Emma," He calls her name calmly, standing up to meet her. " we can't tamper with the prophecy, it will always find its way to her. I know you are scared but there is no need to be, God will surely protect her." He says trying to convince her.

"But I don't want her to get hurt, that world is too dangerous for her. " She tells him with tears in her eyes, afraid of what might be waiting for her daughter as soon as she enter Alhezia.

"Neither do I, but do not worry Darl, God will surely protect her. It is her destiny do not let us tamper with it." He gave her reassuring kissed on her forehead.

She let out a smile with a hope that all will be well.

Alyssa's POV

I walked upstairs to my room humming happily as I entered, the first thing I went to do was to pack my clothes, shoes and the things I might need in my suitcase.

I still find it very hard, they accept to let me go. Maybe I'm dreaming, it better not be. I can't believe I'm finally going to meet grandpops and Nana and see the town, I'm going to explore every corner of the town.

I smile as I fell on the bed, spreading my arms. I started thinking of the things I will do when I get there soon I drifted to sleep wondering how the town will be like for me.

"Alyssa," A voice called my name softly out of nowhere, I strained my eyes in the dark trying to look for who called my name, maybe if I can see a figure but all I see is nothing but darkness.

"Oh great one." it came again, there was respect in his tone like he is giving eulogy to a highly person.

"Come take your place." the voice said.

"Take it now," the voice came out sharp and bold. " It is time." That was the last time I heard before I woke up.

I sit up breathing heavily, and started fiddling with my bracelet to calm my nerves. I glance at the clock, it just 12:05, I really do need to stop watching horror movies. Thank God this one is not as terrifying as the other ones.

I get down from the bed walking to my closet, I took a sleeping bag with a pillow and went to the veranda since its raining, I don't know why I find pleasure in watching the storm, the flowers bloom, and the trees wither away and grow, also burn when being strike by thunder, it gives me unimaginable happiness, weird right. Well you can't blame me I'm weird.

During cold season I don't feel cold like I'm immune to the weather even during hot season, it is like I am abnormal, so weird. Not quite long the rain stopped. The moon was now visible. Looking at it felt like we were smiling to each other.

I shake my head with a smile, then tuck myself in the sleeping bag still staring at the moon till I fall asleep. I slept without having any other dreams, it was calm and peaceful.

The sun shone brightly on my face and I woke up due to the sun rays reflecting on my face. I stood up, pack the sleeping bag and went to my room. I unclad myself and covered my body with towel then entered the bathroom. After bathing, I apply my body cream, I put on sweat pants and a baggy hoodie then I curled my hair and pack it in pony tail. I took my luggage downstairs to the car since I am going today.

I did a happy dance before going downstairs to have my breakfast, mom and dad were already having their breakfast when I got there.

"Good morning mom and dad." I greet them, pecking their cheeks before sitting.

I pull out the chair that was near mom and sat down.

"Morning dear, how was your night? " Mum asks with a smile.

" It was fine mum." I reply, dishing out pancakes on the plant infront of me.

" I can see someone is happy today." My father teases wiggling his eyebrows.

" I'm going to your town for the first time, so I'm happy." I tell him smiling.

"Is that only your reason you are happy?"

"No, Pappie that's not the reason, I am excited to see grand pops and Nana ( that's what I call my grandparent) but maybe I am very excited to go to your town." Immediately I said that my mum's mood change, don't know why.

"Why can you not stay ? You can video chat them instead of going to see them." Mom suggested, trying to convince me.

I rolled my eyes."Mum, I know you will miss me, that's the way I miss Nana and grand pops, I want to spend time with them also."

"Baby, they could come here." She said.

"No mother, nobody is coming here, I am going there and there is nothing you can say or do to convince me of not going." I retort , feeling angry that she is trying to stop me from going.

She better not try to convince dad unless she won't like the other side of me she despises.

"I am not trying to..."

"You are not trying to but you are doing it, let's end the discussion here, I will be waiting in the car." I cut her off rudely, I stood up walking out of the house taking my plate filled with pancakes.

Hey you don't expect me to leave it just because I'm angry, I don't joke with my stomach.

I don't even know where that boldness came from to tell my mom off.

During the journey, nobody talked to each other after what happened at home. The atmosphere was tensed between I and my parents, well I appreciate the silence because I did not even know what to say to them. Up till now I don't know where the boldness came from to reply my mum back, I have never talked back at her, I am the type that does what my mum says. I put on my headphone out of boredom, then shut my eye.

It felt as if someone was hitting me, go awaaay you agent of disturbance, go awaaaaaayyyy.

That stopped but then came another. It began to rain and it felt really weird.

I don't understand why weird things were happening so suddenly. The world began to shake, after the rain there came an earthquake. I said a silent prayer for safety.

I heard soft murmurs, the voice sounded familiar but I could not point out whose voice it was.

" She is not waking up, no matter what I do, I hit her and even sprinkled water on her, she still did not wake up. I don't know what to do." The person sounded worried, listening to the tone you could feel the panic in her voice. It sounds feminine.

After all that, the person did not wake up, the person must be a deep sleeper.

"Do you think she is in a trance?." a different voice spoke this time, it sounded manly.

" I don't think so, I don't know if she is." The voice I heard earlier replied,. " If she is, we need to wake her up."

" I think I have an idea on how to wake her up but you are not going to like it."

" What is it ?"

" One of my tricks."

"Which one?"

"Thunder slap."

"What ?! Do you want to kill her ?!" The person screeched.

"It may or may not kill her. We can never know if we don't try it." The manly voice said like as if he is convincing the other person.

" I don't even want to know, I am not taking that risk, is there not less dangerous trick that you can do?"

"I assure nothing bad will happen to her even though I am not 100% sure but still nothing will happen to her and there are not other options, my other tricks are far more dangerous than this one and maybe it won't hurt her for the fact that she is my blood."

"I am not sure about this, its our daughter's life we are talking about, don't you remember the last time you used it, you put the person in a coma, coma, commmaaaaa!!!. So what do you think will happen if you use it on her Huh ? "

"Okay, I get your point, you don't need to emphasize on it. But that time I was angry, trust me when I say nothing will happen to her or don't you trust me?"

"I do trust you, is just that.......

He cut her off "Then let me do my stuff, okay ? "

"Okay."

The person was mumbling incoherent words that I could not comprehend.

I was thinking about the person sleeping until something cut it off, I meant someone.

It felt as if I was being struck to death, like billions volt of electricity entered me. I saw death waving at me, I didn't know my eyes were closed until i opened them.

"Am I in heaven?, I looked round. I saw cars trees birds...... Are there cars in heaven too, wow heaven is modernized." I said.

"Thank God you are awake, I thought you were going to sleep forever." The person chuckled.

What is making this person laugh ? i thought to myself. I was slapped by thunder, I swear it hurts.

I turned my head towards the direction of the voice, then it dawn on me that the voices I heard were my parent's, no wonder it sounded familiar.

"I am still alive." I sigh in relief.

"So I was the one sleeping ? I'm the rock, I should have woken up when I heard their voice." I screamed in my head.

"Darl, you see it works." My dad said feeling so proud of himself.

My mum rolled her eyes at him.

"That slap hurt." I whined in my head.

"Dad, is there f**king electricity in your hands ? It felt like was being struck by thunder, billions volt of electricity is in my body. Mum why do you even trust him?, I'm going home already, the gate of heaven is coming closer." I said faking a snob.

My dad chuckled.

I was moved to glare at him but I was afraid of receiving another slap.

"It is not that painful." My dad said with an eye roll.

"Yes dad. It is not that painful." I said sarcastically.

"Darl, you see I told she won't be hurt, she confirmed it herself." He said looking at my mum.

"Dad, don't you understand when someone is being sarcastic, what I said is an irony, iiiiiiiiroooooony. The slap hurts." I whined as I rubbed my face.

"For a moment, I thought I lost my touch but I still have it." my dad said as he high fives himself.

My mum glared at him.

" I meant sorry, here take some ice pack to reduce the pain." He said as he took a block of ice from the cooler and wrap it with a nylon since there was none, he improvised.

My mum collected it from him glaring at him. She took it from him and place it on the spot that hurts then she moved it circularly.

"Sorry dear, let me help you with the ice pack on your face, it will reduce the pain." She said as she placed it on my face.

"We are sorry, we woke you up like this. It is just that we try waking you up normally but you did not respond so your dad suggested that he should try waking you up which he did." She said.

" I can't blame her. I'm not normal at all, I'm a rock." I said in my head

"Well on the bright side, it did work." My dad said earning an knock from my mum.

" That hurts." Dad whined rubbing the place on his head she hit.

Mum turned to me.

"Hope the pain has subsidized?"

Even though, it is still hurting. I couldn't say so because it would make my mom feel more guilt.

" No mum, it's no more painful"

"That's nice" she smiled, I took my time to look round the environment then I saw a big gate, something was written on it. ' Welcome to Alhezia town'

"Wait , are we there already ? " I asked no one in particular.

As if my dad read my thought, "we are already there, that's why we woke you up so you can see the entrance "

"Oh, okay." the gate was huge and really pretty, I wondered how the environment would look like. We entered the car and drove in. I turned back to see the gate one last time.

"Welcome to Alhezia."
