Chapter 1 The first night with Roxy

"Taz, guess what? I found the perfect woman for you!" Perry happily announced to his friend, but Taz in his drunken state didn't even care about what his friend was saying.

"Just leave me alone, I need to drink myself to sleep, I don't need any woman I'm done with all of this" he responded with a slurred accent.

Perry was worried that his friend would die from drinking too much so he arranged a very nice package for him, all that was left to do was talk him into accepting it.

"Taz, it's a good idea, trust me this is going to cheer you up, this woman will take your pain away," Perry assured him with a naughty smile plastered on his face.

Taz opened his eyes halfway and stared at his friend,

"Nothing can cheer me up" he snapped.

"Wait until you meet her" he insisted and took out a card from his breast pocket,

"She's one of the most mysterious women in this town, she's an escort. Her services are top-notch. You are emotionally unavailable, I know, that's why you need an escort. They don't work with emotions; they only come for a good time, they make you feel good, and get paid. What could be better than this?" Perry said convincingly.

He shook his head, "I'm not in the mood to see anyone, I can't. I'm still not over Louisa" Taz shook his head trying to reject the offer.

"I'm not asking you to date, that's even crazy! I'm asking you to engage the services of this escort and have fun. It will help you feel better,"

"You are asking me to sleep with someone? How insensitive can you be? I just lost my wife" Taz yelled.

Perry frowned, "It's been a year already, get dressed and get the house in order, she may not spend the night but the house still needs to look good when she arrives."

Taz wanted to refuse but didn't want to argue so he just nodded, and closed his eyes to continue with his slumber but Perry continued talking.

"Get dressed, at 10 pm she will be here," Perry said without listening to his protests, "If you are not ready by then I will bathe you myself and force you out of this room" he threatened his friend.

By 10 pm Taz had taken his bath put on some casual clothes and covered it up with a trench coat, he had also paid for the house to get cleaned up and had set the table for a date. Perry's car honked outside so he stepped out and met him in the front yard. Perry came out of the car to meet his friend,

"Listen, the woman will be arriving in a few minutes, she wears a mask, she's mysterious and she likes to keep it that way. She's also great at what she does but it doesn't mean you should fall in love with her, I know how you can be. This is her job so don't mistake it for interest else, your heart will be greatly broken."

"I'm not stupid" Taz replied and headed back for the house.

When he got back inside he sat behind the table that had been beautifully set as if he was preparing for a date night. As he thought of his night with the escort he kept getting scared, the idea of hosting a mystery woman in his house brought tight knots to his stomach. He was a few minutes away from cancelling the whole arrangement when his doorbell rang, he scampered to the door and met a slender dark-skinned woman standing at the door. She flashed him a charming smile and said,

"Hello handsome, you want to have a good time right? I'm Brianna, the one who does inspections and security checks before Roxy comes in" she said with a wink.

Taz looked outside uncomfortably, "Okay, come in," He said opening the door for her all the while wondering what she would do if he attacked her. Maybe she was a trained black belt you never know, he tried to convince himself.

"You do well in keeping this place neat. That's lovely!" She praised him as she went up the stairs inspecting the place to see if it was safe for Roxy to come in. After checking the living room and just one bedroom, she said, "I would like you two to keep it in the living room and nowhere else, that way I can assure the safety of both parties"

Taz nodded in agreement, he wasn't ready to argue with anyone, he wanted to get it over and done with. She smiled and winked again and headed to the exit. "Enjoy your evening Taz." she said as she exited the building.

Taz went back to sit at the dining table, and a few minutes later the door flung open again.

"Come on, pretty boy, you can't wait for a pretty maiden with your clothes on" a low-pitched feminine voice suddenly said as the door closed slowly behind her.

Taz looked up at the doorway and saw a woman dressed in very tight black leather clothing wearing a mask that covered her eyes and the upper part of her face. She stripped off the leather clothes revealing her lingerie.

Her body was to die for, her chest was ample and her hips were broad, her belly was flat with a ring dangling down her belly button. Taz gulped, as the woman approached him and slowly sat on his lap with her hands running through his hair.

"You seem like a good boy, haven't you done this before?" She whispered when she noticed how jittery he had become. She got up from his lap and squatted, then started unbuttoning his trench coat. "This isn't a night for chit chat come with me," she said and dragged him to the couch

She looked up into his eyes and her lips curved into a smile, "are you afraid to admit that you're a good boy? You shouldn't be, let me spoil you tonight. You'll love it" she said in a seductive voice that sent shivers down Taz's spine.

She pushed him on the couch and then slowly glided on him, taking off the rest of his clothes.

He grabbed onto her waist and tried to push her off him, she misinterpreted his actions and took it as him getting into action, so she started to take off her lingerie while dancing in a seductive way and making eye contact with him.

He stared into her eyes worried about what he was about to do, was it wrong or right? His wife had died a year ago but what if her ghost was watching? She would definitely be mad, but what this woman was doing to him was wild and he loved it, it had been a long time since someone provoked such intense feelings within him he wanted to grab her and do nasty things with her but what if Louisa was watching? Her ghost would haunt him.

Before he could pick himself up and leave, this woman was seated on top of him whining her waist slowly.

"This is it!" He thought. "I'm finished, I'm done for"

Chapter 2 Who will love an escort

Before he could pick himself up and leave, this woman was seated on top of him whining her waist slowly.

"This is it!" He thought. "I'm finished, I'm done for"

but with strong willpower, he pushed her off, and sat up on the couch, he started to dress up while Roxy sat down watching him totally surprised and confused at the same time.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked. "Why are you acting like I'm some sort of predator?"

Taz sighed, "I'm sorry for startling you but I'm scared." he shivered.

Roxy chuckled and got up, she started to get her clothes and put them back on, "I can't believe this, are you married or something?" she inquired as she put her leather jacket back on.

"I used to be" he replied.

"Oh so you are divorced?" she snapped feeling annoyed and slightly agitated. No man had ever been able to reject her seduction, every client had one compliment for her, 'temptress' She was irresistible and she knew it, not just because everyone told her but because it was evident when she looked at herself in the mirror.

"I lost my wife, and I know this is childish but every time I try to move on, I feel like her ghost is in the corner somewhere ready to attack me," he replied and laughed uncomfortably. Roxy got up from the couch, and marched to the door,

"That's not childish it's perfectly human," she responded. When she got to the door she turned around to ask him a question.

"You paid for my services, are you willing to watch me go without getting any action?" she asked, still unable to believe the rejection she had just suffered.

"Do you mind if we talk?" Taz asked.

"Talk? You paid all that money so we could talk?" Roxy asked.

"It could compensate the money somehow" Taz replied.

According to her job description, she wasn't allowed to have any discussions with her clients, hers was to pleasure these men and get paid, nothing more, nothing less. Talking was out of the question but something about Taz made him look pitiful, it wasn't his innocent brown eyes or his soft pink lips. Maybe it was his lonely home and life, perhaps that was it.

"I don't get paid to talk... but I will make the exception for you. Just make sure that my management doesn't hear about this do you hear me?"

Taz nodded, sighed, and watched as she sat at the dining table, he quickly joined her thinking she would take off the mask and he would get to see the face underneath the mask but she didn't.

"Tell me about your wife, what happened?" she asked.

Taz sighed sadly, "We had been trying for a child then one day she got pregnant, we were so happy to finally be parents, but she started bleeding during labour, she couldn't make it and so did the baby. That was how I lost both my wife and baby on the same day."

Roxy felt bad for him, "I'm so sorry to hear that. How long were you married?"

"5 years, we were together for 7 years but married for 5 years" he replied.

"So sorry to hear this, is there a way I can make you feel better?" Roxy tried to find a way to console him because his story sounded horrible and sad to her.

'I'm fine, thanks for listening to me, sometimes it gets lonely here and I just want someone to talk to" Taz replied.

"So do you live here all by yourself?" She said.

He nodded, "I do. Sometimes I feel like she's still here with me and it makes me feel better. I started to talk to the walls hoping she would hear me and respond."

Roxy shook her head, this man needed saving, it was one thing to talk to the walls but expecting a reply was a new level of delusion.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Taz" he responded.

"Taz, I think that you should either move out of this place for some time or get a maid or a friend, let someone move in here with you. It will help a lot." She advised.

Taz was sceptical, he wasn't ready to let anyone in yet,

"Thanks for the advice."

Roxy got up and said, "I have to get going, if my management realizes that I was chit-chatting they will punish me for it."

"So sorry to take your time, but thank you so much for listening," Taz replied, getting up.

He followed her to the door and waved her goodbye. It was after she had left that he realized that he hadn't asked for her name but that was okay, he wasn't sure their paths would cross again.

However, the next morning, made him realize how much their conversation lifted some burdens off his chest. He felt lighter and less depressed. It had been a long time since he had sat down to chit-chat with someone, he needed someone to talk to, someone who would listen. As a neurosurgeon, there were days when he was swamped and there were days when he was free.

Today was one of those days when he was between busy and free so he sat in his office examining his next case for the next patient, when Perry barged in, he was still in his operation gown which made it obvious that he was just from the theatre.

"You ungrateful child, why didn't you call to tell me how your night went?" he screamed.

Taz rolled his eyes, he was about to talk about how the night went when he remembered what the escort told him, she had said she wasn't allowed to chitchat with customers.

"Can you call her again for me tonight? I want the same escort" he found himself saying.

Perry looked very impressed, "great! But I'm not paying for you this time, she's expensive."

"Give me her details," Taz demanded.

Perry looked impressed, "looks like Roxy did a great job last night."

Taz eyes lit up, "It was great!"

Perry frowned, "Taz, I hope you have my warnings at the back of your mind. I've already told you, this is her job. So just do your part and let her go. Don't develop feelings for her, do you hear me?"

"Just give me the damn number, I'm not a child!" Taz stubbornly replied. He needed to see Roxy again and these warnings meant nothing to him. Who in their right mind would fall in love with an escort anyway? Certainly not him.

Chapter 3 Spider must never know

Roxy woke up late the next day but instead of getting out of bed to exercise and prepare for the night, she sat on her bed thinking about the previous night. She was working in an industry that forbade her to have human relations with other people.

It was strictly forbidden for her to befriend the men she was called to pleasure. Because of this, she had no permanent friends. Just a few loyal customers who she had good customer relations with.

Then there was Taz who paid a huge amount of money not for pleasure but for company. At first she was offended by his rejection, but now she found it sweet and different. She had been craving that kind of company for a long time. The pure kind, the kind of friendship where you don't feel judged but accepted and treated as a fellow human being.

The door flipped open and Spider her manager walked in, he frowned when he saw her seated on the bed,

"Do you know what time it is? Why are you still in bed?" He barked.

Everyone called him Spider because that's what he demanded to be called. Nobody knew his real name and everyone was too afraid to ask.

Roxy looked up with fear in her eyes, "I'm not feeling too well sir..."

"Do you know that you couldn't meet your target for this month? You haven't met your target for about three months, you made only 200,000 bucks when you're supposed to be making 500,000 it only means one thing. You're getting old and that's why fewer and fewer men are booking you. If you continue like this I will be forced to drop you off my team. You can go work in a brothel if you want."

She was only 22 so what did he mean by she was getting old? The only reason her customer base had dropped was because the management had greatly increased her services while she was still paid peanuts. How was that her fault?

She got out of bed and went into her closet to put on her workout clothes.

"Make sure you stay fit, nobody wants to make love to an old woman." He said with vileness.

As she struggled to put on her workout clothes The Spider remembered an important information to give her.

"Tonight you have a client, he paid for the full night and even added a huge tip. He's the first one in a long while to make full payments beforehand and even add a tip: don't go and embarrass me." He yelled and then walked out of the room.

Roxy trembled with fear, she was afraid that whoever had filed for her services would require her to do something degrading, whenever someone left a huge tip it meant that she was going to have a tough night as if her work wasn't difficult enough.

Soon the dreaded night approached, she got dressed up in clothes that would enhance her sensuality, a red cleavage-showing dress, slit all the way up her hip, then she wore her mask. She gave herself a look in the mirror.

"Roxy, I hope you're ready tonight?" She asked herself and headed out. She was driven to the location, and when her eyes saw the familiar street she beamed with smiles, this was the man who paid to have a conversation but her smile quickly faded when she remembered what Spider said.

He had said that this customer had paid a lot of money, so it could mean that Taz wasn't looking for just chit-chatting. She began to get disappointed, why did she think so highly of him? He was just like all the other customers. She slowly got out of the car and rang Taz's bell.

Taz opened it and smiled then quickly let her in, Roxy looked around, he had turned off the lights and lit some candles on the dining table he also had some dishes set on the table.

She frowned, was he into some kinky stuff? What was this man up to? Taz closed the door and said in a lowered tone.

"Last night I enjoyed our talk. I'd love us to talk some more tonight. What do you say?" Taz replied.

Roxy's eyes lit up but Taz couldn't see it behind the mask, "I will turn off the lights so we can have our conversations in pitch darkness because last night you told me your agency doesn't allow you to chat."

Roxy smiled. "You paid for the whole night. So you deserve a great conversation. Come and let's talk. What do you want to talk about?" She said, leading him to the table.

Taz sat on one side and Roxy on the other,

"You cooked?" She asked while opening the plate. "Did your wife like your cooking?"

"She did, I'm a great cook, I was her favourite cook till she caught me ordering from a Chinese restaurant." Taz recounted happily.

Roxy laughed, "Oh dear what did she do to you?"

"Ah Louisa, she laughed just like you are now, but then she started to write down some of her recipes for me." He replied.

"So did you ever cook them?" Roxie curiously asked.

"I tried them tonight, taste them and give me your opinion," he said.

Roxie opened her dish and tasted the meat sauce and fried potatoes. She nodded and gave him a thumbs-up.

"Louisa was a great cook!" She remarked.

"She was! I try her recipes from time to time and it makes me feel like she's still here." Taz replied.

She stared pitifully at him, "I'm glad you still have her recipes, she's a great cook. This food is great." She dropped one more potato in her mouth.

"You should come over so I can cook you more of her recipes," Taz replied.

"Wish that could happen but I don't think it will, my agency doesn't want me gaining any more weight and if they find out that I've been here making friends I could get in trouble."

Taz scrunched his face in confusion, "Why can't you have friends? Aren't you a human being? You're just hanging out with a friend, why should that be a problem?" He asked. He was trying to make sense of her unusual working conditions.

She frowned and her warmth faded into coldness within a matter of seconds.

"Don't ask for answers to information you won't be able to handle."

Her icy tone scared him more than the ghost stories he had heard about Louisa.

"Spider will kill me if he finds out I am making friends. So you better not let anyone hear about this" Her stern warning made Taz gulp with fear and trembling.
