DALINA'S POV

This is so fucked up, I've been searching for hours now for the perfect lingerie I will wear tonight for my mate, Kane. But here I am still rummaging in my walk-in closet in confusion.

I just wondered which one would be perfect for this surprise. I needed something alluring, mind blowing and sexy at the same time.

I wished I could send some of the samples of the ones I have here to Kane for him to choose the one he likes, but that would ruin the surprise.

I just want to appear before him unaware. Then I will offer him what he had always wanted. I told him it should be after our marriage though but deep down I had a plan to offer it to him on his birthday.

Just then something perfect, hot and alluring got my attention. It was a lace bodysuit with sheer panels and strap details and it was red in color which is Kane's favorite color.

The joy I felt at that moment was priceless. I hugged it with a beaming smile on my face. Kane would definitely be thrilled tonight.

I folded it carefully inside a designer bag. And zipped the bag up. My closet was in a mess, I just don't like it when I mess it up, but this mess wasn't intentional.

I didn't have time to clean it up right now, maybe I will ask my maid Lucy to clean it up for me later.

I had to go and freshen up before I would be late.

I dashed into the bathroom and had my bath quickly. I am not really a fan of heavy makeup, that was why I applied a little makeup that matches my skin.

I chose to wear a beautiful red gown, the length was above my knee and a neckline that was elegantly draped, off my shoulder. I smiled at myself trying to picture how Kane's face would look like seeing me in this gown, more especially the red lingerie.

I picked up my car keys and my designers bag which the lingerie was in and walked downstairs. I couldn't wait to be in the arms of my beloved mate, Kane.

When I got downstairs to the spacious living room, all the servants stopped what they were doing and started staring at me.

I was kinda embarrassed with their stare. "Princess, you look so stunning tonight". said Mr Patrick who is the chief chef.

"Thank you very much chef Patrick". I replied with a blush.

"Princess, it's raining heavily outside". Mr Patrick called my attention as I tried walking outside.

"Oh, I didn't notice. Please get me an umbrella". I said politely and waited for him to arrive with the umbrella.

"Here you go princess". Mr Patrick said, handing me the umbrella.

"Please be careful out there princess". Mr Patrick said with a worried tone.

"Don't worry I will be fine". I replied with a smile.

Chef Patrick has always treated me like his own daughter.

I walked outside with the umbrella on my right hand. The rain was heavier than I thought but nothing would stop me from going to Kane's mansion tonight.

The rain would make everything more romantic anyway.

I entered the car and drove off. The road was kinda lonely, but I didn't care. I turned on my music and swayed to the rhythm of the music as I drove.

I got to Kane's mansion in an hour. The rain was still falling, but not as serious as it was from Evercrest.

"Good evening princess". One of Kane's guards, whom I don't know his name, greeted me.

But something was off about his greeting and facial expression, but I didn't give much thought to it.

"Thank you very much". I said and was about to walk past him, but he stopped me with a bow and didn't dare to look me in the face while he talked.

"Princess, I'm sorry but Alpha Kane is not at the mansion at the moment".

That was strange, where could he be at this time of the night, it's 8: pm already and Kane is not a night hunter.

I smiled the next minute, because this is just a perfect opportunity, I will go in and get myself ready in the bedroom before he arrives. Yes!.

"In that case, I will go in and wait for him". I said to the guard and continued my walk, but he blocked me again.

"What's wrong now?". I asked, getting pissed at the guard's behavior.

"I'm sorry princess, but I can't let you in. Can you wait, let me go in and inform him first that you're around?".

"What the fuck is this?. You just told me that Kane wasn't in the mansion and when I decided to go in and wait for him, you are telling me that you want to get his permission to let me in?".

"I want to go in and see what's going on because there is something definitely wrong". I said, cutting him off and walked past him, but this time around, the guard didn't stop me.

I walked into the mansion with my bag. I had to use one of the guest rooms first to freshen up because I was kinda wet.

I walked upstairs and I got to the passage of the guest room, and entered one of the guest rooms, because there were about four guest rooms on that floor.

I didn't waste much time, I got myself ready, wearing my sexy lingerie. I smiled at myself when I saw how beautiful I looked.

I might not have a wolf power but at least the moon goddess blessed me with beauty.

Now it was time for the surprise, my heart was beating fast but I had to calm myself down.

Kane's room wasn't far from the guest room, it was located at the right passage.

I walked towards the room with my sexy lingerie, the light was not that bright, so I wasn't afraid that anyone would spot me.

As I walked closer to his room I heard some weird noise, but it was very faint.

I continued walking without giving it much thought, but as I walked closer to the room, the noise became much more clearer.

DALINA'S POV

I suppressed my cry and couldn't stand the sight anymore, I ran as quick as my legs could carry me, not minding the direction my legs were taking me.

I heard him cuss and called out to me.

I just wanted to run far away from this building. As I ran, the pain I felt tried to consume me whole.

I passed the guard I saw earlier and I heard him call me. That only fueled my anger but I didn't care about what he wanted to say to me.

I didn't even bother to get my umbrella and my car keys, the rain was still falling outside. But I didn't give a fuck about that.

I didn't know how long I ran, I was out of breath and energy. The memories of what I saw earlier flashed on my mind as I slowed my pace.

It was an excruciating pain, I bent down with my head in between my legs and my hands hugging my knees.

I was sobbing uncontrollably now. When I remembered his facial expression which showed no remorse, it only brought more pain to my heart.

Suddenly I heard a faint sound that sounded like that of a wolf.

The rain was still pouring, making it difficult for me to hear the sound more clearly.

I stood up weakly and observed the environment I was in, fear gripped me, I was lost in the woods. I couldn't even see a thing, except the giant trees that looked like monsters.

I regretted ever running like that without a care for my safety and oh shit!. I was putting on only lingerie.

I began to feel cold and shiver at the same time. I had to find my way back to Evercrest before I ended up in serious danger here.

But how can I go back now?, I asked myself. I can't see the way out of this forest.

Suddenly I heard a low snarl pierced the silence, causing my heart to leap into my throat. My breath caught my chest as I spun around with eyes wide open in fear. I saw a pack of werewolves emerge from the shadows.

Panic surged through my veins as I tried to run as fast as my legs could carry me, branches scratching at my skin as I ran towards an unknown direction.

I didn't know how far I ran but kept on running until I stumbled upon a rock and I fell forward and in the process I sprained my ankle.

I couldn't even express my pain, because I was afraid of being discovered by the hungry wolves.

I muffled my cry as rain washed away my tears. I tried to stand and continue running but the pain I felt in my legs was so excruciating that I had no choice but to sit at a place.

I was surprised when I didn't hear any sound of the wolves,could it be that I've outrun them?. But that was impossible.

Or has the goddess gotten rid of them for me because she knew I was powerless?. So many thoughts ran through my mind within minutes.

But just as my heart relaxed a little I heard a hoarse voice from behind me.

"You thought you could outrun us?. You are really overestimating yourself". The wolves have shape shifted already.

I cowered in fear as I heard his voice, it was dominating and powerful.

"Please don't hurt me". I said in a low voice out of fear.

The muscular one, which I'm sure must be the leader of the pack, bent down and lifted my chin with his index finger. He observed what I was wearing.

"You look so alluring. You just packaged yourself and entered into this forest and expect to go back safely"?. He said with a sinister smile.

"P-p-please spare me I-I-I I wasn't thinking straight when I entered t-t-this forest" I stuttered.

The muscular man laughed in a mocking tone. "Spare you?, if you were in our shoes, would you spare us?". He asked with a mocking smile.

I am sure even if they give me twenty hours, I will still not be able to run.

But I had to at least move my body. I started crawling and I heard them laughing uncontrollably at my actions.

Before I knew it, the muscular one spun me around and he was lying on top of me.

"I can see you really want us to devour you tonight, since that's the case, then the pleasure is all mine.

Who could have rescued me?. Am I in a bigger danger?. Did the stranger rescue me for good or for bad?. So many questions were running through my head that I couldn't ignore.

"Are you still waiting to be devoured by these mini creatures?". A manly voice came from behind me, the voice was calming and soothing but still dangerous at the same time.

I turned to see who it was. Oh my goddess!. How can someone be this handsome?. He had these rugged yet refined features that tend to capture my attention.

I sat there admiring this god before me forgetting he could be another threat.

"Are you done admiring me?". He asked with a proud smile.

I came back to my senses and that was when I realized I was in pain. I covered myself with the torn lingerie suit, though it didn't cover me from the cold I was feeling, but I had to cover the exposed part of my body.

As he walked closer to me I didn't feel any danger. He bent down to my level and gathered me into his arms effortlessly like as if I was like a feather in his arms. His body was warm. It eased the cold I was feeling.

Where could he be taking me to?. Is he going to take advantage of me?. Should I struggle out of his arms or ask him where he's taking me to?.

I was battling with my thoughts. I summoned the courage to finally ask him where he was taking me to.

"Please where are we going?".

"I thought you would never ask. I'm taking you to my cabin". He answered nonchalantly.

"Thank you for saving me".

"What makes you think I won't hurt you when I get to the cabin?". You should be more afraid of me". He said, looking directly at me.

My instinct is telling me you won't hurt me". I replied boldly.

"Is that so?. Then I must confess your instinct is wrong this time around.

"My instinct is never wrong".

"I can keep you here and leave you to be eaten and taken advantage of by wolves again?".

"I'm sorry, please don't leave me here". I pleaded with my eyes lowered to my stomach level.

"Then shut up and stop arguing with me". He said with a touch of irritation.

I pressed my index finger and my thumb together and zipped them across my lips in a symbolic gesture indicating that I will remain silent.

Suddenly I heard him laughing, I was almost forced to laugh along with him but what if that gets him angry and he dumps me here.

This stranger might be extraordinarily beautiful but he is not someone to be trifled with. So I had to ask him instead what was amusing him.

"What's funny?".

"You looked so cute when you did that". He said and continued to laugh.

"Oh I didn't know that would be funny to you".

"I think I should keep you as my pet, you would definitely entertain me and I don't think my day would be boring having you around". He replied with a smirk.

"I-I-I have a family that would be worried about me, and I need to go back to them". I said in a low voice enough for him to hear.

"We are finally here". I heard him say and I turned my gaze from his chest to the cabin he spoke of".

The sight was so beautiful. The exterior has a rustic yet stylish design with a combination of wood siding, a stone accent and large windows. The hanging flower baskets and a porch swing which could accommodate two people hung beautifully at the side of the entrance

As I observed more I noticed a tranquil lake with beautiful swans swimming inside and little colorful flowers decorated around it.

He opened the entrance door with a creek sound, and carried me in. The interior of the cabin was breathtaking, it was romantic to behold. It had an open floor with a vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and a stone fireplace which was surrounded with three rocking chairs.

He carried me inside a small room which was enough for two people. The bed was neat, adorned with soft linens, fluffy pillows and a beautiful faux fur throw blanket.

He tried to place me down on the bed but I stopped him.

"I am in a mess, please can I bathe first?". I asked him.

"I will change the sheet later, sit on the bed while I boil water for you to bathe with". He said and placed me on the bed.

I felt pain in my ankle, he seemed to have noticed my discomfort.

"A wolf doesn't take that long to heal, why are your wounds taking long to heal?". He asked curiously.

I was speechless at the moment so I didn't know what to answer him. I sneezed and that diverted his attention from the question.

He placed his hands on my ankle and the pain vanished. I knew some wolves had healing power but they were very rare.

"Thank you". I said with a grateful smile and stood up from the bed. I was facing him, oh goddess, he looked so breathtaking, his long lashes and alluring lips which I was so curious to taste.

"Ahem!. He coughed lightly bringing back my attention to him.

"Stay here while I boil the water for you". He said and I nodded without a word.

He came back in about two minutes later. "The water is ready, come with me, let me show you the bathroom". He said and I followed suit.

He brought me to a small bathroom which barely could accommodate two people.

"He showed me the towel and soap. I don't have a female cloth here, so you can manage my white long sleeve, I'm sure it would cover you".

"Alright thank you". I took it and placed it in a hanger. When he left I started bathing, the water was so warm, but it wasn't a bathtub so I didn't really enjoy it.

The soap smelled so nice, I washed my hair and scrubbed my body, washing away the mud which was on my body.

In about five minutes I was done bathing. I wore the clothes he gave me, it made me warm.

When I walked to the living room, the table was already set with food. My stomach rumbled at the sight of the food.

The guy came out from the kitchen holding cutleries. He stopped on his track as he saw me.

We stared at each other until......

"You look so beautiful in these clothes". He commented with his face an inch from mine.

"Thank you". I replied with my cheeks turning red already.

"I wonder how your lips would taste". He said with a smirk.

"I'm as curious as you are". I replied shyly.

He cupped my face and lifted my chin, he inched closer until his soft lips landed on mine.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare?".
