Witches and Sorceresses, a woman thought to have magic powers were born in different parts of the world and formed a sisterhood, bringing under their influence. They are powerful and magic exists for them. Indeed, the witch represents the dark side of the female presence.

My name is Thana and I belong to the family of witches, yes we all exist. We are living in Zalla or other called the town of witches, it's a town located in the province of Biscay, in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, Northern Spain. My younger days began in this town.

I grew up in the care of the witches, my mother, my aunt and my grandmother came from the race of witches. I grew up where magic is my world, my life and my grandmother always says to me that I should be proud of my existence, I am different from the others and soon all the power and magic will suddenly emerge in my personality.

On that day I didn't understand what my Grandmother wanted to say to me. My mother said I would fully understand if I reached the right age. But there is always a question in my mind, why I am not allowed to mingle and talk to other kids like me, as my Grandmother always says I am different from them, I am special and the magic is living in me.

But, as the years go by my family thinks about moving to another city and my mother convinces my Grandmother.

Until I reached the age of ten my family moved to another city to start a new life. My mother said that I need to go to school to learn what she never used to do when she was a child, she convinces my Grandmother to move to another city but, in one condition that keeps myself distance from the people, to the other kids like me, the mortal as like my grandmother called them.

As I grew up, there were so many questions that I kept asking myself why I should not talk to other kids like me. I wanted to make friends with them but my grandmother doesn't allow it.

Time flies too fast. I survived for so many years being alone and I kept myself a distance from the others until I got used to it. I have nothing to do with anything but my grandmother, my mother and my aunt and that's how my life has gone on as the days and years passed by.

A lot of things changed when I reached the age of fifteen. On the night of my birthday, my mother gave me a box she said it's her present to me, for the first time in my life my mother gave me presents on my birthday.

It was wrapped in red cloth with a black ribbon tied on it. There was the excitement I felt as I started to open the box. I was almost amazed at what I saw.

It's a spell keeper necklace that features a beautiful deep, blue cock topped glass vial containing a blend of herbs and its vial is suspended from a Tibetan triquetra charm that was hand made from their ancestor and a spellbound bracelet filled with a mixture of hand-blended magical herbs.

It is believed that it should be passed to the next generation of witches who are younger to be protected from witches who practice evil deeds. I wore the necklace and the bracelet. On that night everything changed.

There was a light coming from them, it sparkled within my eyes. Those lights make me feel renewed and powerful, those lights that I admire a lot, they are like a pill that makes me alive. I don't know why, but I felt it, there was so much inside of me.

I felt inside my being a powerful source that binds inside my body, that night I felt that the magical power suddenly emerged in me.

On that night, I felt that I am completely different from the others, just like my Grandmother always said to me.

365 Days Past

I was standing in front of St. Claire Academy, one of the prestigious schools in the town of Huesca. My heart is full of excitement as I step on the grounds of the St. Claire Academy. I heard that many people my age are studying here for so many years, I had never been with other people around me.

I always keep a distance from them, but, right now this is the day to mingle with them. I had promised Grandmother that I would take care of myself and I wore the bracelet and necklace that my mother gave to me on my birthday last year. Another thing is Mia is just around, so I will be safe at all times.

Mia is my guardian all of a sudden she was coming into my life on the night of my 16th birthday, she suddenly appeared maybe because of the light coming from the necklace and bracelet.

Mia is a creature who is only a shadow and often she is just like a smoke-shaped human. My mother told me that I should not be afraid of her, she's my guardian and my other half.

As I walk in the hallway of St. Claire Academy I can sense Mia is following me, I stopped for a moment and closed my eyes.

"Come on out, I know you are here".

After a while, a shadow comes out in front of me and I am never getting wrong that Mia is with me right now and I know that Grandmother sent her to protect me.

"I'm sorry, your Grandmother wanted me to be here."

"Oh, yeah! I know as always she does that".

"How's your school?"

"Hmm... I don't know yet, it's my first day so I don't have an idea what kind of people they are, And....

She turned to Mia to remind her not to do such crazy things here in the St. Claire Academy.

" What? "

" I just wanted to remind you that don't do any crazy things inside the campus, Okay?"

Mia doesn't answer her and she had no idea what its reaction would be or if it would follow her.

They just kept walking towards the building of her classroom and while they are walking Mia was still talking to her and she doesn't notice the young man run towards on her way, they bumped into each other she lost her balance, causing her to fall and she dropped her belongings that scattered along the hallway of the campus.

"Hey!!!!" as I called him in my loudest voice.

He turned around and looked at me from head to toe, he was just smiling. I was stunned when he smiled at me.

"You better watch your steps, baby". He just walked away and left me stumbling to the floor and not even helping me to stand.

"Oh, damn!! This is the way A boy treats a girl?"

I can't believe what he showed to me so arrogant, boastful and not even a gentleman different from what I heard and watched from a movie.

"Did you see that Mia? He's so arrogant!"

Mia just circled in front of me as I picked my belongings one by one.

"Do you want me to teach him a lesson?" Mia asked me.

"Oh! No, no... Don't you dare to do that, remember what I have said, okay?

Mia just disappeared and she loses in my sight, I tried to stop her, but it's too late.

" Mia came back here. "

I picked off my things one by one and hurried walking towards the building of my classroom, all of them were staring at me and some were just laughing and mumbling.

I just ignored them and continued on my walk towards the building of my classroom. I tried to use my magic power to stop the hours and freeze all this place. It doesn't matter to me anymore if it is forbidden to use my magic powers in front of other people.

Who knows that I am a witch and my name is "Thana the Teenage witch" and I can do whatever I want.

Five minutes before my classes started, I entered my classroom and at that moment I realised that their world stops, the time has stopped and they are all frozen like ice.

I flicked my fingers three times to get everything back to normal.

I sit in the back of a row of this room and observe all of the students here inside my class. I wanted to know them all and hopefully, I can make friends with them.

After a moment a woman entered the room. She's not looking too old at her age and everyone became quiet as she entered the classroom. It will not be a surprise to me that everyone here is afraid of her because she's one of the terror teachers here on campus.

And of course, I know her, hmm... Not totally but, I had to know her. She's an English literature teacher who hates cockroaches (laugh a little).

She loves dancing and likes to watch stage drama every end of the year all of her students need to perform like an actress and actors on a stage and many hated it but, I still like her and maybe I should practise my acting skills just like I am always doing to my Grandmother and my mother (chuckles) and yes. I am a good witch actress.

I have noticed that everyone in this class all ears on her yet, she sounds too bored reciting the famous Romeo and Juliet.

"Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;

being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers eyes;

being vexed a sea nourished with lovers' tears.

One of the famous lines that I'd love, I joined her in reciting each word and she noticed me saying it.

"The girl in the back row stood up."

I used to point at myself and look around, I stood up in my seat and all of the students were staring at me.

"What is your name? I guess you're a new student here?"

And nod is my answer.

I stand in the front of the class and started to introduce myself in front of many people, they are all staring at me and waiting to hear my voice. I clear my throat before I start to speak a word.

"Good morning everyone, I am Thana and I am a new student here."

I feel a bit timid when I started to introduce myself. I don't even know how will I start or I am thinking that if they will want me to know well. Oh, I guess they are. Well, sometimes acting a normal person is a hard thing to do.

" So, Ms Thana can you explain to us about the line I am reciting a while ago... The famous Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet line?"

I feel my knees tremble and my voice rattles with nervousness. I am a witch, but, I can't take this kind of situation I am in right now.

Ms Traveleyan is waiting for me to say a word and all of my classmates looking at me with excitement in their eyes. I don't know why maybe they want to hear my voice or another reason is to laughs at me?

I clear my throat before I speak.

"Ahem... It's like... Li... ke... a"

I looked behind me when I saw Mia as if she was taking a walk. I wanted to stop her but I couldn't do anything.

And another that surprises me is the young man that bumped into me earlier. The two of us looked at each other and his gaze penetrated me. I turned my gaze to other students to avoid his eye. I don't know, but I feel this way, I shouldn't be overpowering his looks.

"Common, Thana I know you can do it." Ms Trevelyan cheers me.

"Well, it's like a... Saying that love.....can be a source of great....hapiness or great e... I...sadness depending on how it is handled."

"Good very well said, Ms Thana."

I impressed Ms Trevelyan with how I explain it and all of the students my classmates followed me by look as I back to my seat.

The young man, I earlier that bumped into me staring at me, I don't know why. I wiped my face maybe he could see dirt on my face and I still see Mia circled on that young man. I flicked my fingers three times to call Mia's attention.

"What are you doing?" I asked her in a low voice.

"I am trying to know him."

"What? Why did you do that?" My voice gets louder because of the surprise and apparently, they are all looking at me.

"Oh, sorry... I was overreacted to what Ms Trevelyan said. ( chuckles, breath heavily)

" Are you crazy? "I started to talk again to Mia in my soft voice.

" His name is Lucas, I have been following him all the time. "

" Stop it, Mia, otherwise... You know what I mean."

All of a sudden Mia disappeared, she was afraid of what of the things that I will do to her she's a crazy and naughty girl. Sometimes I need to put her in the bottle just to stop her.

I feel so uneasy, I could feel his presence and I could see his eyes staring at me. I wanted to use my magic power to make him stop staring at me.

Until the time of Ms Trevelyan class end. I left alone in the classroom and at that moment he is coming over to me. I flicked my fingers again, I need to use my magic power to stay away from me.

And... Thanks, it works. It was as if he had lost himself and didn't know where to go, he just scratched his head and looked at me as if embarrassed. My power work in just twenty-four hours let see what will happen tomorrow.

I decided to go outside of the classroom and I went to my locker room to get the books I needed for my next subject.

I almost melt in shame as I walk down the hallway, I feel all their eyes are staring at me. I walk in a hurry to avoid them, there were voices that constantly I heard asking who I am? and others laugh because of my personality.

I am not like the other girls here who we're in fashion dresses. Well, I am different from them. I just wear a plain blouse and a long skirt that almost reached my heel and a sneaker that makes me feel comfortable.

As I reached my locker I see Lucas standing in front of my locker leaning against my locker, flirting with one of the students here.

"Excuse me, can you step aside for a moment. I'll just get something from my locker."

He doesn't say any word he just moves away to my locker and continuing flirting with one of the students and just a moment they are kissing each other, they don't care if everyone sees them.

I see how he kisses the girl and he almost gasps in-breath and it almost he unbuttons the blouse of the girl he flirting with.

I just shook my head and quickly picked up on my book and walked away from them.

As I walk back to my classroom someone is following me and calling me.

"Hey, Miss..."

I turned to see who was calling me.

"Oh, thank you." He was almost out of breath because of following me.

"You walk too Fast, how you do that?"

"Me?" As I asked him.

"Yeah"

"Oh, I just want to get back to get back in my room."

I thought about what he had seen of me earlier. Maybe I use my power without knowing it.

"Oh, the classes start in thirty minutes, would you like to join me."

I can't believe that he invited me this may be a good sign that I can make friends.

"You must be new here."

"Yes, I am."

"Want to join me?"

"Hmm...yes, sure."

"I'm Andy, and you are?"

"Thana."

"Oh, nice name."

He took me to the cafeteria and he ordered something for us to eat. He looks so nice and kind to me, he's a bit funny well, yes, he got looks every girl will notice it.

Andy is too funny he has a lot to talk about. I feel so at ease with him, he made me laugh and I never felt that I was different to the other.

Right now, I like him. Oppss. I mean I like him to be his friend and I feel that he is a good guy and a weirdo? I guess, maybe?
