When the moon goddess destined me to be matched with Taylor Robinson, I discovered that Taylor was having an affair with her ex-boyfriend Ennik. I spent my frustrating night getting drunk at a bar and ended up having a one-night stand with a mysterious man. I thought he was just another Alpha or Beta. But after escaping from those harsh realities, I learned that he was Timothee Hemsworth, the Lycan of the Silver Armor Forest. When Taylor and Ennik were about to bully me again, Lycan Timothee came to my rescue and realized that there was a new life he created because of the one-night stand incident 5 years ago.

Chapter 1 Prologue

BARBARA PALVIN POV'S

I first developed a crush on Alpha Taylor Robinson, who would later become the leader of the Moon Glazed Pack, when I was just starting high school. He was a senior, while I was still a freshman.

We never really interacted with each other, but one day he came to my aid when I tripped during our school's annual cross-country event. Although he didn't say a word to me or even make eye contact, I couldn't help but admire him from afar. I would often sneak glances at him whenever I saw him around.

I was completely fixated on him, spending a lot of time daydreaming about him. It's likely I was being a bit overzealous because I would write his name on a piece of paper and keep it under my pillow.

I would imagine that we were meant to be together, that the universe had brought us together, and that he was destined to be the Alpha, while I was destined to be his partner.

Every day, I would watch him with optimism, hoping that one day he would come over and express his feelings in front of everyone.

I wasn't a popular girl at school, unlike Ennik, his stunning blonde girlfriend, who was always the center of attention. She was beautiful, intelligent, and every guy wanted to be with her.

Everything changed when I turned 18, just after I finished high school. I was walking along a path leading to a lake near my home when I caught a whiff of something really nice - a scent that reminded me of freshly heated herbal oils, which was similar to the perfume Taylor often wore.

My mind immediately jumped to thoughts of him, and as if I had summoned him, Taylor suddenly appeared from another part of the path, as if by chance.

He looked so tall and towering and full of dominant confidence, his body chiseled after 3 years of training and his messy black hair made him look rugged. His sharp hazel eyes held a calculating gaze, reflecting his hot-headed nature.

He blocked my way, staring into my eyes sharply. "Mine." He growled in his deep voice.

I felt a rush of excitement and wanted to slap myself repeatedly because I couldn't believe what was happening right now. This was everything I had dreamed of for so long, even though I never dared admit it. Now it was happening! Finally my pillow method manifested successfully!

Since that day, my world revolved around him even more. Even though it had been a year, I still couldn't believe he was mine. I still couldn't believe we were mates.

But everything wasn't as perfect as I had imagined before.

We were busy preparing ourselves for the positions we would hold later when he turned 21 and officially replaced his father Alpha Drake as the next Alpha successor. My dream of becoming his Luna would become reality. I would be right by his side as his Luna.

My heart always fluttered when I thought about it and it made me very excited. I still couldn't believe this was real. I still looked at him like I did before, full of longing and desire. One thing was different, now he returned my gaze in the same way, because he was mine. Only mine, and I was his.

But everything turned bad.

One day I visited his mansion, which was quiet, intending to deliver the food package I had made all day. I didn't find anyone in that Mansion except for a strange sound from Alpha Drake's room.

"Oh! Damn... Taylor... make it faster!" It sounded intimate, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I hesitated whether to find out or not.

Half of me seemed to already know what was happening along with the sudden pain that made my body feel electrocuted. I didn't dare face that reality.

Eventually, curiosity consumed me, and I opened the door slightly. There was nothing, but Taylor was in front of me, his back to the door.

He was with Ennik.

Engaged in an intimate act.

I covered my mouth, dropping the food package I was carrying with a noisy sound. Taylor noticed my presence, they stopped doing it. Taylor froze and tried to reach for me.

"Barb..." he called me dearly, as if what he was doing hurt him too. "I can explain all this, Barb....."

He tried to reach for me but I ran from his mansion, locking myself in the car. I felt betrayed and heartbroken. Taylor kept chasing me, but I ignored him.

"Leave me alone, Taylor!" I cried in pain.

Eventually, he succeeded in stopping me and tried to comfort me.

"I said leave me alone! I don't wanna talk to you!" I screamed and pushed him away.

"Barby, I... I don't know how to explain this to you." He struggled for words.

"Why? Why did you do it?! Why did you cheat on me with another woman?! Why could you never love me the way I love you?!" I demanded to know why he did it.

"It just h-happened. I'm sorry." He struggled to find the right words and apologize.

My tears kept rolling down my cheeks as I looked at him with eyes of sorrow and hatred. "Kick her out if you want me to stay by your side. Kick her out right now!" I insisted, but what he said broke me even more.

"I can't, Barby... I-"

"You choose her over me? You still love her, don't you?" I couldn't stop shaking. Hot tears sprang into my eyes.

"I-I... uhm." He rubbed the back of his neck; he was rarely at a loss for words.

"You can't give me an absolute answer. That means it's true, you haven't forgotten her yet." I shook my head, and the tears continued to stream down my face. "Say it now! Say your rejection now!"

"Barby... I-"

"Say it, Taylor!"

Taylor shook his head, rejecting my request which only made me more heartbroken.

"Do it as you fucking her!" I shouted.

"Well!" Taylor shot back. "

I left him just like that, running away to the farthest bar from the pack house.

In frustration I leaned against the bar wall after downing five glasses of wine, but I was still holding a glass of martini in my hand. It wasn't enough to reduce the pain and bad memories of Taylor's affair. I wanna be numb now.

"Mind if I join you?" A mysterious man slurred, his voice thick with the remnants of alcohol.

I shrugged.

He chuckled and leaned in closer, his breath carrying the scent of martini.

"Just looking for a good time," he admitted, his blue eyes searching mine for any hint of judgement.

A sly grin formed on my face as I responded, "You came to the right place.""You're unlike anyone I've ever met," he confessed.

I smiled, staring at him seductively. I wobbled on my feet, as I swayed to the music. I couldn't tear my gaze from him. His chiseled jawline seemed to call out to me, and his blue eyes hypnotized me.

"You look perfect." My bleary eyes stared as I leaned in and pressed my lips against him.

Kissing him so passionately, as if it was a means of pouring out my pain.

I thought he would push me away, but instead he returned my kiss in the same hungry way, starved for a woman's touch.

The next thing I remember was waking up in a magnificent bed and magnificent room. I don't even remember how I got there.

Chapter 2 Escape While Pregnant

With a confused and fearful mind, realizing that something was wrong with the earlier events, I quickly fled from the Moon Glazed Pack. As I emerged from the forest, struggling to navigate, I encountered an elderly couple with a flat tire in the middle of the road. The forest indeed cut through the long stretches of roads across southern West Virginia.

"Are you okay, dear? Calm down, call me Mrs. Richardson. Why are you out here in the middle of this deserted road? Are you with someone?" the bespectacled grandmother held my hand.

"I-I..." I stammered.

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Richardson asked, noticing my inability to respond due to exhaustion. Eventually, she ushered me into their car.

"Where are you from, dear?" Mr. Richardson checked on me, then whispered to Mrs. Richardson a moment later.

Afterward, Mrs. Richardson stroked my hand. "Sweetie, do you remember where you live?"

I fell silent, frozen, and then shook my head. My current intention was to escape and forget everything.

"What if you come with us? We have a spare room; you can stay there temporarily until you remember where your home is," Mrs. Richardson sighed.

I nodded in agreement. "Thank you so much."

They took me to a modest apartment in a residential area. I also sought multiple side jobs to survive after escaping from my unfortunate fate. Leaving Taylor, who rejected me after he cheated with Ennik. Leaving my parents who were surely confused looking for me. But here, I had my own choices.

After saving a bit of money, I decided to find another place to live, not wanting to inconvenience Mr. and Mrs. Richardson. I also enrolled in a fashion design course, pursuing my childhood dream. I tried to forget my past as much as possible, keeping myself busy with worldly affairs. Everything went smoothly for a few months, living with better personal and spiritual development than before.

However, after a few months of being busy with coursework and side jobs, I encountered a slight problem. I hadn't had my period for several months. I also felt frequently fatigued, like someone anemic waking up every morning. Even so, I thought it was just a normal thing because I was so tired and stressed. I ignored it.

I decided to take a day off, one day, planning a small picnic to a lake with Mr. and Mrs. Richardson. I decided to repay their kindness by making food.

"This is delicious lasagna, dear. You're very talented," Mrs. Richardson nodded as she tasted the lasagna I brought specifically for them.

"Indeed, very tasty. The man who will be your husband will surely be happy to have a wife who can cook so well," Mr. Richardson added.

Those words brought my thoughts back to Taylor. I shook my head, trying to erase the memories of Taylor.

After we came back from that small picnic event, I went home with the intention of resting. However, Marley, my course mentor, called and instructed me to go there to complete a task that would be submitted in a competition in a few days. Despite being very tired, I eventually went there.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" I asked, surprised.

"This is an opportunity for you. You can become a famous designer if you win that competition. You'll be contracted by their brand," Marley left me.

I slapped my forehead as I hadn't brought any fabric from the storage room. I searched for some fabric to use in creating a dress.

"Are you sure you'll win the competition without enough experience? You haven't even designed it yet, have you? You can't make a dress without sketching it first," a girl sneered.

"I'm not expecting to." I shrugged.

"Then give up." The girl walked away.

I ignored her and walked to the storage room. Suddenly, I felt a headache that I couldn't explain. I staggered, leaning against some standing fabrics in front of the storage room door.

"Are you okay? If you're not feeling well, you can go home," Marley raised her eyebrows and faced me.

"I'm just a little tired. It's okay." I shook my head.

"Alright. Finish your work." Marley shrugged.

After that, I only completed the sketches late into the night at the course place. The next morning, Marley immediately woke me up and said I had to finish the dress before the day of the competition.

Reluctantly, I worked hard to complete the dress and quickly packed it. I immediately set off to deliver it to the company. After waiting in a fairly long queue, I finally finished my task.

I planned to go for lunch, but as soon as I left the company, a really strong headache made me freeze and stand still. Everything became blurry in my vision.

The only thing I remembered was a woman's ear-piercing scream. I opened my eyes in a room filled with the scent of antiseptic. The throbbing headache persisted, and I felt even more faint. The woman's voice continued to echo in my ears, urging me to confront a truth I was not prepared for.

"Who... who are you?" I managed to stammer, my gaze searching for familiarity.

The woman sighed, her eyes reflecting a mix of concern and disappointment. "I'm Dr. Turner, and you're in the hospital. You fainted outside a company building. Do you not remember?"

A wave of confusion swept over me. The events leading to my collapse remained elusive, like fragments of a dream slipping away. I nodded weakly, unsure of how I ended up here or why.

Dr. Turner continued, "You're pregnant, and it seems you didn't know. You should have been more careful, especially considering your condition."

"P-pregnant?"

"Yes, in your first trisemester."

As I grappled with the shocking revelation of a possible pregnancy, questions swirled in my mind like a tempest. Was this the consequence of a night I could barely remember, a choice made in the haze of alcohol and vulnerability? The fear and uncertainty weighed heavily on me.

Did I really have a one-night stand with the mysterious man under the influence of alcohol, and now I'm pregnant?

Pregnant with a stranger's child?

Chapter 3 Chased By Him

"Sorry, Lycan. I couldn't locate the girl you mentioned in any of the Pack territories."

I clenched my fists tightly, absorbing the news. Since the mysterious girl disappeared from my chamber, I had instructed all my subordinates to find her. The last I heard, an Omega from Moon Glazed Pack lost his daughter that night. Perhaps, the girl was his daughter.

However, some reports from my subordinates suggested that the Omega in question wasn't married to a werewolf but to a Fae. Moon Glazed Pack might be searching for her because they wanted to exploit her, as Fae blood was highly valuable to any shifter. The girl would be a secret weapon.

"Lycan, we'll try searching in other forests and-"

"Stop the search in the forest. Look for her in the human world," I interrupted, slamming my hand on the table.

"All right, Lycan." They bowed simultaneously.

"Chase, prepare everything. We're going there to check on our businesses." I dismissed them.

I had organized a few competitions this month to provide assistance to some struggling packs and shelters for orphaned werewolves. When I arrived at my first company, I could catch a familiar scent. A natural aroma of citrus and fresh berries. The scent of the girl.

However, I found no trace of her in the company.

In the evening, as I planned to head home, I saw her walking unsteadily, as if severely injured. I ran to stop her, but it seemed like she could catch my scent, and she fled.

"Hey!" I called out, my voice cutting through the ambient noise. The scent of citrus and berries lingered in the air, guiding me through the maze.

She quickened her pace, glancing over her shoulder, eyes wide with a mixture of fear and desperation. The chase intensified, the rhythmic click of heels on the tiled floor echoing the urgency of the moment.

As we burst into the open air, the city's chaos swallowed us whole. People hurried past, oblivious to the clandestine pursuit unfolding in their midst. She stumbled, her steps faltering, but determination burned in her eyes.

I closed the gap, my hand reaching out to grab hers, but she eluded me with a swift sidestep. A tantalizing fragrance of wildflowers and something untamed filled the air as she darted away.

In pursuit, the city transformed into a relentless backdrop, buildings blurring into streaks of color. Her figure danced ahead, a mirage in the twilight.

"Wait!" I called again, the word lost in the cacophony of the city. A fleeting glance revealed a glimmer of recognition in her eyes, as if a distant memory stirred.

I lost track of the mysterious girl in an instant. She was indeed a Fae, she ran like she was flying.

"Damn! Hurry up here and split up!" I ordered all my subordinates to split up to look for her.

Barbara's POV

Not wanting to waste too much time at the hospital, I decided on outpatient care. However, as I walked towards the bus stop, waiting for Marley who intended to pick me up, a strong scent of sandalwood jolted me awake-there was a werewolf around.

I realized that a werewolf was targeting me, and I ran as hard as I could, even though running felt incredibly difficult. My feet stumbled, and then I was sent sprawling by a mound of rocks I hadn't seen.

"You..."

I looked up and realized it was Taylor. He gripped my hand tightly.

"Come with me to Moon Glazed Pack, you rebellious wolf!" He snarled.

Despite the pain from the fall and the tight grip on my hand, adrenaline surged through me. The urgency of the situation propelled me into survival mode.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" I retorted, wrenching my hand free.

"You have to go back to Moon Glazed Pack! Or I will tell everyone that you became a Rogue!" he threatened.

I shot him a defiant look, my resolve unwavering despite the threat hanging in the air. "I'm not going back, Taylor. I won't be a pawn in your pack's games."

His eyes flashed with frustration, the intensity of the situation escalating. "You think you can just run away? Do you know what they'll do to you if you defy the Alpha? You'll be an outcast, hunted down by every werewolf in the region!"

I squared my shoulders, meeting his gaze with determination. "I'd rather be an outcast than submit to their control. I won't let Moon Glazed Pack dictate my life."

Taylor's jaw clenched, his grip tightening as if he could force compliance through sheer strength. "You're making a big mistake, Barby. You have no idea-"

Swiftly, I step on his foot and pushed him. I maneuvered away from Taylor, utilizing every ounce of strength to distance myself.

His eyes narrowed, and he lunged for me again. The chase unfolded through the bustling streets, the city becoming a blur as I sprinted, fueled by a mix of fear and determination.

People around us noticed the commotion, but the urgency of my escape took precedence. Dodging obstacles, weaving through the crowd, I pushed my body to its limits.

Taylor's growls echoed behind me, and his pursuit intensified. I could feel his presence, the pressure of the situation urging me to run faster.

"Comeback or I'll kill you right at your place!" Taylor growled.

I emerged from the alley onto a more open street. Spotting a cab, I flagged it down with desperate urgency.

"Drive! Just go!" I shouted at the cab driver as I jumped in, leaving Taylor behind in the chaotic cityscape.

"But where we going, ma'am?" he asked.

"Just go somewhere, anywhere, but get away from here! They're chasing me and they might kill us!" I replied quickly.

The mere thought of returning to the Moon Glazed Pack filled me with dread. The judgmental stares, the whispered accusations-being labeled a traitor. Taylor's arbitrary judgments and inevitable comparisons to Ennik, his favored one, loomed like a dark cloud over my escape.

Taylor didn't stop there. He wanted to stop the taxi. Taylor transformed into his wolf form and crashed into the taxi. My body was thrown around repeatedly, blood gushing from my nose after shards of glass tore my skin. Everything became blurry, but I could see a fleeting shadow lifting me up before everything went dark.
