Ray's POV

My parents secretive nature was something I didn't like but had to put up with since they are my parents.

My name is Raven but my friends call me Ray for short, I am blonde and I have black long hair, my eyes are luminous green in colour, I'm a type of person who likes fun and I'm social too.

I have a vivacious personality which kinda made me unique I guess and I have this pet cat that I adore, her name is royalty, named her after my dead pet rabbit.

The name of my two best friends are Hiedi and Justin and they both live next door making our friendship Stronger than any friendship I've come across.

I've heard of stories which says that mermaids, vampires, witches and werewolves are all real, maybe mermaids are real but vampires, witches and werewolves, I'm not so sure if they actually exist. I mean how can a bloodsucking personality, a spell casting person and a halfwolve halfman exist, I mean it's not possible.

If they do exist, didn't they go into extinction or something?

RAY'S POV

6:45 am at my house which was inhabited by just me and my parents

"Ray! ain't you done getting ready for school?, come down and have your breakfast" Ray's mom said as she set the table for three.

"Coming mom!" I said as I carried my bag pack to the dinning table down stairs.

"Ray, where is the amulet I gave you?" my mom asked as she passes me a plate of vegetable salad.

"Mom it's in my bag pack" I said as I sipped my juice.

"Didn't we tell you never to take it off, now put it back on Young lady" My father said with this commanding voice I hated and immediately I took the purple glittering amulet from my bag pack then put it on.

This amulet can be quite confusing sometimes, once it felt like it was green in colour and when I told my mom about it she said something about it being the sun's problem.

"The diamonds in it can change with the weather darling, it's nothing for you to worry about" she said to me that fateful day but something in me didn't really go with that but I had to act like I believed her.

When I was done with breakfast that morning, I waved good byes to my parents but that was after they've given me five dollars to use for the day, I came out of my house then I saw Justin already on his way to my house.

The both of us went to school together after finding out that Heidi won't be coming to school today because she's got the flu.

"Men that's nasty" I said to Justin as he told me about Heidi's flu.

When we got to school students kept on talking about me and Justin being girlfriend and boyfriend.

Most if them said really nasty things to us as we walked down the school's hallway.

It really got me so angry and pissed off that I had to make my own investigation to find out who started the rumours and just as I suspected Clara to be the one, it turned out she was the one.

I almost got into a fight with her after finding out that she was the one who has been spreading those rumors about Justin and I dating each other, it even got worse when it was lunch time.

Some of them will throw this piece of food at me laughing or they would just touch my hair.

Infact some of them just wanted to get on my nerve, especially those guys that I had turned down one time or the other.

"Are you guys dating?, I knew it , OMG you guys have gone viral" Natly said as she sits next to Justin, Eddie and I.

"Natly stop!, Justin and I are not dating" I said trying to convince her.

"How many times, the T is silent", Natly said trying to correct me on the pronunciation of her name which I keep pronouncing wrongly all the time.

"If it's not meant to be pronounced then why put it there?, I asked sarcastically then took a bite off my burger.

"Well that's not my doing", Natly said to me then folded her arms around her chest.

"Can you guys just stop, here comes Clara, maybe you can confront her but without starting a fight with her this time around" Eddie said before he called Clara to sit with us.

"And why are you guys inviting me to sit with you at lunch today?, you don't wanna try fighting me again or do you?" Clara said as she turned her gaze at me.

"And why are you looking at me like that?", I asked as they all stared at me for a second which made me feel like this monster that have refused to turn good

" Jeez I don't wanna fight you well not any more I just want to talk." I said to Clara before I gave Justin a sign for him to continue.

"Clara why did you spread rumours about Ray and I dating each other?" Justin asked her

"I didn't just spread rumours, I posted pictures too", Clara said with a content smile on her face then left for another table giggling like a small demon.

"aghh!, I hate that girl" I said in anger then rolled my eyeballs.

Natly smiled

"Hate is a strong word Ray, besides we were the ones who offended her last week, remember?". Justin said as I glanced through my phone".

"Oh I remember you guys pranked her at gym class, men she was so mad". Eddie said then began laughing.

"Yh, you can't do that to anyone without expecting a revenge and for the prank it was Epic" Natly added laughing so hard

"Oh I remember, but that was so funny and humiliating for her, and I still have a picture of it". I said with a smile then showed them the picture as we all laughed.

"How many times do I have to say this before you children finally learn to obey, phones are not allowed in the cafeteria". Dawn who is our lunch lady said as she gave me a stink eye.

I looked at her and gently put the phone back into my bag.

Lunch period came to and end so we all went back to class, the rest of that day was not really normal for me and I just couldn't wait for the day to be over so I can finally have some peace.

When school was over Justin and I finally walked up to Clara to talk.

"Hey Clara wait up, mind if we join you in walking home?" I said as the three of us went out of the schools gate.

"Look Clara we're sorry for what we did to you last week" Justin apologize to Clara who kept on snobbing him.

"Hey Clara wait a second and just here me out, look I know I was mean to you last week and I just want you to know that I am sorry for pranking you, the both of us are really sorry, are we cool?", I added

"Oh just stop, you guys are not sorry you just want me to stop spreading rumours about you both, what you guys did to me is gonna be Petty compared to what I'm going to do to you both, got it" She said trying to leave as I held her back.

"Hold on, I'm serious. Okey calm down now look at me, please... please forgive us". I said trying to make her feel sorry for me.

"Okey I've forgiven you guys" she reluctantly said

"Are you serious?" Justin asked

"yes I am" she replied

"Wow that was easy". I muttered to myself as I watched her Walk away.

Later when I got back from school I went up to my room had this short shower before I wore my comfy clothes.

As soon as I was done, I took up my phone and started scrolling through it as I gave my pet cat a stroke.

It was starting to get hot in my room so I stood up to open the windows but before I could even get to the windows they opened by themselves. I fidgeted a little bit and I was also contemplating if I should freak out by what just happened or wave it off because it probably would have been the wind or something.

Few minutes later as I stood looking at the curtains, my dad walked into my room without even knocking.

RAY'S POV

"Honey come down for dinner". my dad said immediately he walked in.

I followed him immediately as we both went downstairs to have dinner.

"How was school today hon?, hope you didn't get into trouble today my mom said as she passed me a plate of Caesar salad.

I wasn't paying much attention to my parent's instead I was paying much attention to the fork that suddenly moved on its own when I was about touching it.

"Mom, Dad, did you guys see what just happened?, my fork just moved on its own", I said still shocked myself looking at the fork that had just made me a lier by staying still like nothing happened.

"I'm sure you must have imagined it, it's not possible for an object to move on its own" My dad said to me then changed the topic almost immediately.

"That reminds me your birthday is near", he added as my mom continues.

"Yeah it's next two weeks Saturday right?" my mom said as she sits down next to me to eat.

"What are your plans for your birthday?" she asked me but I wasn't paying much attention to them.

I kept looking at the fork hoping it moves again so I can show them, maybe they will take me seriously if they see it themselves but unfortunately it didn't.

I reluctantly picked the fork up and started eating hoping I imagined it all if I didn't then Maybe the house must be hunted, I thought.

Later that night, after having dinner I went up to my room, fed my cat then decided to go online.

I took up my phone and started chatting with my friends on Picsta, which was the most popular social media amongst students in Los Angeles.

As I was chatting with Natly a messaged popped up and it was from this guy in my class named David Roberto, he is really cute, he has this black short hair, a bright sea blue eyes, attractive red lips long cannines which I admire the most and he also has two piercing on each ear.

He was really a cool guy and almost all the girls in my class are crushing so hard on him.

Seeing his message my heart really skipped a beat because I didn't expect him to text me.

"Hello pretty" it read

He actually called me pretty, I couldn't help but blushed as I quickly replied the message

"Hi" I sent.

I wanted to send 'Hi handsome' to him but I didn't want him having any clue of my admiration for him so he won't take it the wrong way and just like that we started chatting like we've been friends for a very long time.

He was really good in keeping up with a conversation and I really got to know the reason why girls were head over the heels for him.

He was not just handsome but also very good in flattering someone and raising up interesting topics.

At a point in the chat he sent a voice note and OMG his voice sounded so good even better than I thought it would.

We chatted for hours and suddenly he did the unexpected, he asked me out just like that.

I literally freaked out, I was so glad that he actually likes me but on the other hand I didn't want to accept his proposal So I said No to him.

I mean that was so sudden and besides I really don't like him that much to be his girlfriend, I just admire him and would want him as a friend that's all.

Few minutes later I went offline without a goodnight, laid my head on the pillow and slept off..

It's Tuesday morning the next day and I'm getting ready for school, I had my bath, brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and styled it like I saw on one Picsta video last night, and it turned out better than I expected.

"Wow I'm really good" I said to myself as I looked at the hair I just did in the mirror with a satisfying smile.

I wore my school uniform, the shirt was a short sleeve which was purple in colour and the uniform came with a pink coloured tie and blue jacket with this kneel length purple socks and a kneel length flare skirt that is also blue in colour and I wore it with a pink shoe that complemented the tie while most students chose to wear their uniforms with either blue or purple shoes few people wore theirs with a pink shoe and I was among those few people.

When I was done with dressing up, I took my phone from where it was charging and kept it in my bag pack which I took downstairs to have breakfast.

After the breakfast I headed out to meet up with my friends who were waiting for me in front of my door.

We hugged and left for school.

Justin and I told Hiedi what happened in school yesterday as we walked to school together.

She laughed at us and it was not funny at all.

She made fond of the both of us as we got to the school gate and kept wishing she came to school to witness it all by herself.

When the bell for lunch time has been rang, something unexpected happened, Clara wasn't friendly to me at all, she kept on laying abuses on me.

Yesterday I made sure that the both of us would be friends but I don't know what happened today, and at the point of her laying abuses on me she called me a bitch.

I reacted to it by raising my hands to slap her but before I could know it she fainted right in front of me, every body gasped and they all blamed me for what happened to Clara while I couldn't even tell what happened to her.

I froze in shock hoping she was just faking it, I know I didn't hit her, maybe she has a heart disease I concluded.

Few minutes later she was revived and I was also called to the principals office immediately.

"Raven you've gone to far now, I mean you knocked out your fellow classmate" principal brown said disappointed in me.

"But sir I didn't, maybe I did but I didn't do it intentionally" I said trying to convince him.

"Remember the time when you were caught starting a food fight, and the time when you knocked out a shelf from the library because you were trying to kill a bug, can you remember"? he asked as he gave me a hard stare.

"Sir I remember that, but why are you reminding me of what I did last three weeks ago?" I said with my head bowed in shame

"Look the point is you did those things without thinking, and it's possible that you did that to Clara without thinking too, what am I even saying of course you did that intentionally, I mean you almost fought her yesterday". the principal said meanly to me

"But sir I didn't do it intentionally, how can I...", that's what I said before I was caught off by the principal.

"Enough, Raven don't forget what I told you last section, I hate lies" he said firmly

"Sir I'm not lying" I said trying to convince him.

"You know I'm a good student", I added.

"No you're not, also it's detention for you Missie, you may now leave my office", he said as he pointed at the door and immediately I stood up in anger and left.

When I was coming back from the principals office, I saw Dave bullying two younger students, I never expected that from him I walked pass him heading for the cafeteria to tell Hiedi and Justin about my purnishment.

"Ray, do you know the teacher in charge of detention today?" Hiedi asked me as I got a little bit tensed.

"who?" I asked terrified hoping it's not Mathews

"It's Matthews" Heidi replied

"Matthews?, that man hates me", I said with a frown on my face.

"I think Clara fainted on purpose so that I would get detention" I added in a fit of rage.

"I don't think that's what happened" Justin said with food in his mouth.

"Ray guess who's in the cafeteria right now". Hiedi interrupted with a smile on her face.

I didn't even reply her since I was still furious at my whole situation.

"It's Dave", she added stealing glances of him.

"What was the point of you telling me to guess when you won't wait for me to guess". I reluctantly replied

" I was just excited" she said still smiling.

"Ray, gist us, what's going on between you two?" Justin asked me looking at me keenly with his face like he was so much interested in what I would say.

"There's nothing going on between us and there is no gist for you guys, you know what it's time I clear things up, I don't like him one bit and I will never agree to date a guy like him, you know why, because I don't have any feelings for him, I mean who does he even think he is?." I replied in frustration.

That scene of him bullying those boys really made the little likeness I had for him as a person to disappear

"Okay Okay, you can calm down now Ray, you can stop now" Hiedi said to me as they both tried to make me stop whining

"No let me finish, the guy's a jerk and a big baloney, yeah I said it." I added then finally turned just to see him standing behind me.

"Oh no I said it", I said with a low voice as my morale went low.

"So you think I'm like that, don't ya?", he said with a frown on his face.

"No, No it's not like that I didn't mean to say that, what I meant was a baloney sandwich, I mean who don't like a baloney sandwich" I said as I giggled nervously alone.

"I don't", he said as he left the cafeteria.

I could sense he was so angry at me.

"Oh men, I now have two enemies", I muttered to myself as I used my palm to smack my forehead.

"We tried telling you to stop", Justin stated.

"Really" I said in this doubting tone

"Yh, but you didn't listen" Heidi said

"You could have pinched me or something", I said as I smacked my head again taking my seat immediately.

There was this little silence between us before Moonlight and Twilight walked to us to invite us to there birthday party coming up on Saturday.

When our school over, I was in detention with four other students including Dave, I wasn't surprised when I saw him in detention since he was one of the notorious students in school.

During the detention I was so glad Mr Mathews acted like he wasn't noticing me, he just gave us the long lecture on how to behave more nicely and kept telling us it's not right to knock out a classmate and I know he was just referring to me through out the class as he kept looking at me anytime he talks about hitting a classmate and looking at others when he talks about a different thing.

Before detention was over I told Dave what I saw him do to those two students and he explained to me why he that, I apologized to him for the misunderstanding, and for the way I insulted him earlier.

I didn't really know he was defending someone against them, and they are the bullies.

Later when detention was over I went home with him and my three remaining classmates who were in detention with us.

After just few minutes of walking home later we all went our separate ways while I went home to prepare myself for the next day of school hoping it turns out better than today.

RAY'S POV

Getting to my house and relaxing in, I told my mom everything that happened in school that very day and all she did was brush her fingers through my hair telling me not to overthink it too much.

That was a bit weird but as long as she was not scolding me for making a student faint I'm ok with it.

We talked for a while before I finally told her about the birthday party I have to attend on Saturday and she gave me her permission to attend without asking further questions and that really made me happy.

Finally it's Saturday and strange things have been happening this past few days, I also tried staying away from Davis as much as I can but sometimes it was just impossible because he was always around me.

But despite the hard week I was focusing on having fun today without thinking of anything else, I just wanted that one day when I'll just be living without thinking of anything bad happening.

Justin, Hiedi, Eddie and Natly came over to my house that afternoon inorder for us to attend the party together.

It was almost summer time and I think that's why they were having a pool party which was awesome!.

I wore purple shorts, flip-flops that were blue in colour, a blue sun hat, a green coloured singlet and a purple

shawl, I just like mixing my colors as much as possible because that's my thing.

I wore my hair in a bun then the five of us went to the twins house.

when we got there I saw many of our classmates, some were in the pool, while some were hanging around and a few were eating, drinking and dancing to the loud music.

The five of us went to the pool to swim since that was what we all decided to do.

Shortly as we were having fun in the pool with my friends having less worries, I was summoned, more like called out of the pool.

I came out and dried myself with one of the towel hanging beside the pool.

Moonlight was the one who called me out she told me her cousin Shawn wants to see me, I was so excited when she told me that, I have always wanted us to cross paths and that day the wishes was going to be fulfilled.

Moonlight directed me to where he was and I wore back my shawl before I rushed to meet him.

The thing is almost every girl in school are also crushing on him ever since he was said to be an exchanged student and I won't lie, I myself have been crushing hard on him ever since the day I saw him walk down our school hallway.

Shawn's appearance is so mesmerizing, he has a pale skin, a set of perfectly white teeth, his hair is as white as snow, he has a calm voice, he also has this unique bloodshot lips and his charming hazel eyes are so Captivating talk more of his lashes which are so long, he is a typical example of one with a devilish charm, and he also have long and pointy cannines just like Dave's but more pointy and outstanding.

Oh, He is so so dreamy.

"So you're Raven right?", he asked me and immediately I stopped day dreaming about him then nodded like a happy lizard.

"Em, my name is Shawn" he added.

"yeah I know", I said as I tried getting my self together.

"At least come closer or am I scary" he said to me with a devilish smile on his face which made him look evil especially with his long cannines and to think of it that smile registered in my head for so long as I couldn't get over it even after that day.

"It's okey, I'm good staying over here" I replied a little bit nervous and scared too.

"Come on I'm not gonna bite you or anything, are you shy?". he grinned

"Shy, do I look shy?", I said as he came closer to me.

"It's beautiful", he said then smiled.

"what is?" I asked lost.

"your amulet", he replied as I blushed.

"So you called me, may I know why?"I asked

"Yeah, actually I've been wanting to talk to you, but I've not been able to get your attention, so I asked my cousin to call you for me instead". he replied

"Okay so what's it you wanna talk to me about?" I asked boldly

"First I want to say, you are very beautiful" he said then smiled at me.

"Thanks" I said wandering

"So..., would you like to go out on a da..."

"Ouch! aahh!" I screamed in pain.

"Are you okey?", he asked with a concerned look on his face.

"I'm okey, please excuse me for a second", I said as I quickly left for the bathroom.

Oh no, not again, Ouch! it hurts more than before, I took off my shawl so that I can get a better look at the mark on my collar bone.

When I was seven years old, I honestly can't remember but my mom told me that I fell down from a tree which led to a deep cut on my right shoulder, I believed it then but at some point when I was growing up it sounded impossible because it left a mark on my shoulder, a mark that looks like I was beaten by an animal, but I don't know why I can't recall the main incident, the mark hurts sometimes and other times the pain makes me dizzy or uncomfortable, I do tell my parents to take me to the hospital but to no avail.

They would just bring up another topic and wave that one off.

Even Hiedi and Justin have told me that it needs to be treated to avoid serious damage to my skin but my parents just don't see things that way.

I'm always wearing clothes that covered my shoulders, because I don't want people to stare at the mark or call me a freak.

Well right now I don't know why it's hurting me more than before but I just have to endure it and go back to the party so I can at least forget about the pain if possible.

When I got back to the party Hiedi and Justin were worried because they had seen the way I left for the bathroom in pain.

"Hey it's hurting again isn't it?", Hiedi asked concerned about me then I nodded

"Can't it be treated?", Justin asked worried then I gave him a hug as tears gathered in my eyes.

"And what about me?"Hiedi asked a bit jealous but I extended my arm for her to join in the hug.

"It's going to be fine ok" Justin said to me

While hugging them Shawn came by to know what was wrong with me.

"Hey are you okey?" he asked concerned, then I stopped hugging Hiedi and Justin to answer him.

"It was nothing, just a slight headache" I lied

"Okey if you say so"

Also did I forget to mention how bad I am in lying, well I'm horrible at it so using headache as an excuse was so lame, I know but I couldn't think of anything else.

Just as we were all standing Dave came by and informed us that our presences is being needed at the pool side.

"Why?" Heidi asked

"it's time to sing the happy birthday song to the celebrants" he simply answered and left and immediately Hiedi and Justin and I exist the place leaving Shawn all by himself.

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Well, Well, Well, Shawn or should I say Shadow" Dave said.

"it's good to hear someone call me by my old name again. Question, how did you get to know my real name?". Shawn asked

"You're one of the remainders of your kind, soon you'll vanish like the rest", Dave said with a devilish smile on his face,"

"Now about how I got to know your real name, I wasn't spying on you but I over heard when your cousin sister called you Shadow", he added as he gave him a hard glare.

"Okey, but why does it feel like you hate me, I mean we are not enemies are we?, or do you want me to be your enemy?" Shawn said

"I'm not in the mood to talk about our difference's, but I'll give you one warning, stay away from Raven okay" Dave warned with this firm angry tone

"Woah there, are you guys dating?" Shawn asked

"Not exactly". Dave replied

"Weirdo", Shawn said then laughed at him mouckingly

"Whatever, but I'm warning you now, stay away from Raven" he stated as Shawn yawns.

"I've said enough, bye never wanna see you again" he added as he left for the pool side.

When they were done singing happy birthday to the celebrants, Shawn held Raven by the hand just to make Dave more angry and of course it worked.

"Hey can we go for a swim?" he asked Raven who was already about to leave.

"I would love to but I have to be back home now, it's almost sunset" Ray replied

"Em, it's okey can I at least drop you of?" he asked

"Actually I'm going back home with some friends"

"how many?"

"they are four"

"okey I'll drop the five of you home if that's ok by you"

"Wow, that's okay, thanks", she said with a sweet smile on her face.

Dave was about moving over to Raven, but she had already entered Shawn's car.

He glared at the car as it drove off

"what is this guy up to?" Dave said to himself before he got on his car then drove off.

Raven sat down at the front seat where she continues to admire him.

she saw his handkerchief lying there alone so she decided to take it.

She stretched her arm hoping to grab it without Shawn seeing

"Are you stealing my handkerchief?" Shawn asked her with his eyes still on the road.

"No I'm not" she stated as she hurrienly folded it and kept it in her purse.

"Are you satisfied now?" he asked then smirked, as Raven couldn't help but blushed.

There was silence between them as Shawn drove the car to Ray's house.
