Eira could only stare at the man. Hiding her anger. Were on earth did her mother find such a man to send her on a blind date with.

Eira clench her fist. She was holding herself back from punching him in the face.

"First my wife, need to stay home. And give birth to three sons." The man said. "She also can't be wearing such outfit in public."

Eira knitted her brows. What wrong with her outfit.

Eira was wearing a white tube dress, her hair was let down. She look like an calm and obedient girl. Opposite of her personality.

Edgar Miller, have high standards in woman. When his mom mentioned that he have to going on a blind date. He wasn't putting to much hope on it. But after seeing that it was the beauty of the Kings family, he was over the moon. To marry into such a family.

Edgar like the way she dress. Showing her shoulder off. But Edgar wanted Eira to wear such clothes only for him to see.

"I see that you're a man who knows what he want, Mr. Miller?" Eira swirl her wine and took a sniff. She then brought it to her lips and took a sip.

Edgar smirk proudly. "Yes, I am. You know from my handsome looks and your beauty, our kids would be stunning."

Eira raise her hand showing her beautiful manicure nails as she cover her mouth. She couldn't help but chuckled.

This man really thinks he'll marry her. Eira find him irritating and amusing.

Suddenly a phone start to rung. With out beginning excuse Edgar answer. He didn't even got up to take the call. He answer the phone right at the table.

Edgar listen to what the person on the other side said. He utter and okay and got up.

"Look, I have something to attend too." He drop his business card down on the table. "Call me."

With that he walk out.

Eira gaze harden this was the second blind date she been on, that she was left to pay the bills.

Eira pick up her phone and dialed her secretary number. "Nami, I want information of Edgar Miller."

"Okay, just give me a couple minutes," Nami answer.

Eira end the call. Eira lift her glass, she stare out the window as she took a sip of wine. Such a beautiful night, waste on such a man like Edgar Miller.

Sitting alone staring out the window with a glass of red wine in her hand. Eira, look like a innocent girl. Anyone one who saw her was attracted to her. Such a beauty all lone.

One man couldn't help but walking over and taking the seat that was firstly occupied by Edgar.

Eira pieceful mood turn dark.

"You have some guts," Eira turn to face the man. The man simply stare at her.

His face didn't show any emotion. But his eyes clearly held amusement. He only came to this restaurant because of Eira. He heard about Eira blind date. He heard everything Edgar told her and wanted to do nothing but beating the crap out of Edgar.

"Thompson, why are you here?" Eira ask her gaze harden on Max handsome face.

Max tilt his head, "It's a free country, King."

"Tsk," Eira turn her gaze back to window. "Of all the tables you just have to sit at the one I'm sitting at."

Max chuckled before raising his hand signaling for a waiter. "Get this mess clean up. And bring a a bottle of wine here." He point at Edgar mess.

The waiter nod. After the waiter left Eira open her mouth.

"I hope you not expecting me to drink that with you."

"Don't flatter yourself, King. When will I give you the honor of having a drink with me," Max laugh.

Eira face flush in anger. "Fuck you Thompson." Eira got up and walk away.

Max stare at her. The way her hips sway, from side to side as she walks made him lick his lips. Max couldn't help it. He just love seeing her get angry. He finds it amusing.

Eira paid the bills and went to her car, she then drove home.

At the Kings residence. Lana was waiting impatiently for her daughter. She wanted to know how the date went.

Lana always sends Eira on blind dates but Eira never like them. Lana wanted grandkids.

"Lana stop pacing around." Dexter sigh seeing his wife inpatient face.

"Dex, I really hopes she likes this one. He is the son of a very good friend of mine." Lana sigh, "I wouldn't get any grandkids from Rune, so I have to go at Eira."

Thinking of that Iceberg she have as a son. Lana sigh heavily.

"Do you really think he's gay?" Lana turn to her husband. "That boy will be thirty in three more years. And he still have yet to touch a woman. The rumors must be true."

In the Kings Group, rumors spread that the young CEO Rune King, is gay and his boyfriend is his secretary Ben.

When Lana payed Rune a visit, she over heard the employees gossiping.

Dexter lips turn up. His wife was so amusing. Dexter could only imagine how his son would react after hearing this, from his own mother.

"Lana." Dexter gently took her hand and kissing the back of her palm. He look up at her lovingly. "You shouldn't believe rumors, my love.

Lana face turn red. They been married for over a decade. Dex always done these kind of things, yet Lana still get shy.

"Eira's still young, she's only twenty two." Dexter said.

Lana scoff and pull her hand away. "How old I was when I give birth to Rune?" Lana glare at her husband.

Dexter, went mute. He recalled that Lana was only twenty. Plus she had gotten pregnant on their honeymoon sooner then they planned. Dexter, recalled how angry Lana was but after she give birth her anger set aside.

Lana, didn't wanted to get pregnant so soon into her marriage. And five years later she give birth to her second child.

"My love. I'm sorry." Dexter apologize.

"Mom."

Lana face lit up hearing her daughter. She completely ignore Dexter.

"Mom," Eira walk into the living room. She gaze at her mom. "I never want to see that man again."

Lana face falling. She took Eira hand and guided her to the couch. Lana have Eira sitting next to her.

"Why? I thought you would like a man like Edgar," Lana ask.

This wasn't the first time her daughter came like this after a blind date.

Eira scoff, "me liking a man like Edgar. Would be the day I lose all my common senses."

"Then how about, I send you on another blind date tomorrow." Lana was desperate.

Eira sigh, running her fingers through her waist length raven black hair.

"Mom, tomorrow, I'm going to the company. And the day after I'm spending with Pri." Eira grab her bag and walk up the stairs to her room.

Lana sigh. Getting a grandchild would be harder

Then she thought. Lana eyes went on her husband, she suddenly became irritated.

"Dexter, I want a grandchild. You better talk to that son of yours." Lana glared at her husband and walk up the stairs.

Dexter gulp. Dexter is a man that would do anything to please his wife. But this would be difficult.

Rune King, is a man that have never been seen with a woman. He doesn't even have a scandal out. The man doesn't even make a mistake, that his enemies could use against him.

Dexter know that his wife friends are already grandparents. And she who have a twenty seven year old son and a twenty two year old daughter isn't a grandma yet.

The next day.

In the CEO office of Kings Group. Rune sat in the chair behind the desk reading and signing some documents.

The office door was push open coming with the voice of his secretary.

"Miss you can't go in there-" but it was too late. The door was already close.

The woman who walk in smirk. She wore a black suit, with black red bottoms. Her wavy blonde hair hit her shoulder.

Rune didn't look up. Nor did her acknowledge her presence.

The woman press her lips lips together. Sure the man was cold and instant. But that what she love about him. She started following Rune at the age of thirteen.

The woman walk behind the desk. Standing behind the chair. She wrap her hand around from behind.

"Runy, why aren't looking at me. I just came back from California you know," she whisper seductively in his ear

Her hand began to trail down his chest. When she saw that she wasn't getting a reaction from him, she stop. She look down at his pants. She reach out to touch that area, but her wrist was held in a firm grip.

She couldn't hold back her smile. Looking down she saw Rune giving her dirty look.

"What do you think you're doing." Rune ask in his deep magnetic voice that always give the woman butterflies.

She look at his big hand that hel her wrist. The veins on it made it look so darn sexy.

"Oh my, what strong grasp you have," she tease.

Rune left disgusted.

Mavis Thompson always come to get on his nerves.

Mavis burst into laughter. "I am going to have you one of these days, Runy."

Rune face darken. "Don't call me that."

Even though Rune stare at Mavis with a look of disgust. Mavis still find him adorable.

"What do you want?"

Mavis sat on his desk looking at him her lips curled into a smirk. "Do you even have to ask? I want you."

"Tsk, you such a shameless woman. Didn't the Thompson learn there daughters any manners."

Mavis roll her eyes. "You know the conflict between our family is bullshit."

"You shouldn't said this to me. Go say to the man you call father." Rune eyes went back at the documents.

"Runy, I become a lawyer for this reason. Maybe I should have become a detective. If I had probably I would have found out what really happen between our grandfather and how one ended up dead."

Rune said nothing.

"I bet if our family didn't hate each other. You would have fall for my beauty." Mavis smile smuggly.

Rune was annoyed. "Ben." He called.

Ben open the door. "Sir."

"Take this thing out of my office and don't let her step her foot inside ever again." Rune order.

Mavis eyes wide. The way he address as a thing made her heart ache. "Rune." She called. She didn't care about the way Rune address her she's use to it. But not being able to come visit him. Really.

And just like that Mavis Thompson 2as thrown out of Kings Group.

Mavis clench her fist glaring up at the building. "Runy, I swear when I become your wife. I'll make you pay for embarrassing me."

The employees stare at the young Mavis. They all was thinking the seem thing. "Beautiful yet so stupid."

Eira yawn. She look at the time it was already five pm. Eira turn on her phone and found she had a miss call from Priya.

Eira called Priya.

"Hey Pri."

"Ira," Pri soft voice came from the other side. "Are you busy right now."

"No," Eira lied. She still had alot of documents to go through. "What is it?

"Can you come to my apartment? I have something to show you."

"Okay." Eira answer. "I was planning on visiting you tomorrow anyway."

"Okay I'll be waiting." Priya ended the call.

Eira stood up and walk out. She went to the underground garage getting her black Mercedes-Benz and drove off.

Priya was pacing around her apartment. When she heard the doorbell, Priya dash to the door. Open it and saw Eira.

Priya invited her inside.

"What Is it that you want to show me," Eira ask getting straight to the point.

Priya walk pass her and pick up an envelope that was on the couch.

Eira knitted her brows. "What is this?" She ask.

"Read it." Priya said.

Eira open the envelope and saw an invitation inside. She took it out. Her whole demeanor change as she read the content of the invitation.

"After what that bastard did to you. They dare to invite you to a party." Eira snap. Her gaze went to her cousin. "Priya don't tell me your going."

"I thought it through and yes I am going." Priya answer.

"What?" Eira hiss. "Pri that bastard cheat on you with that bitch. The party are to welcome her to their family."

"I know that Ira. But I have go to show them that they don't bother me at all." Priya shrug. "Plus auntie and uncle said that you and Rune would be there."

The dinning table was quiet. None of the Thompson ever speak while eating.

Maela the youngest of Thompson siblings. Gaze at the empty seat and press her lips.

After putting ther utensils down.

"Mae, how's your study going?" Nicholas Thompson ask his youngest daughter.

The eighteen year old blink. "It's going good." Maela answer.

"Father, tomorrow is the meeting between the Hans group." Matthew start.

"Your brother will deal with that." Nicholas said,

Mathew eyes darken. "Father, Rune King will also be there to collaborate with the Hans."

Mavis roll her eyes. "Are you questioning our brother ways he deals with business. I admit, that Run-I mean Rune is a formidable apponent. But Max have his ways."

Matthew stare at his older sister and scoffed. "The two of you are the same. Your infatuated with Rune while Max is infatuated with Eira."

"That's enough." Nicholas snap, glaring at his son and daughter. "Mavis I told you million of times. To stay away from those Kings."

Mavis glared at Matthew.

"Tomorrow I'll accompany Max, so he doesn't do anything stupid." Nicholas stood up and walk away.

Esther stare at her husband back. She then turned to her daughters and son. "In a few days the Davis will celebrate Anna Davis birthday. So be prepared." She said this to Mavis and Matthew.

They both nod.

Esther got up. "Mavis, let Max know."

"Yes mother." Mavis answer.

When Esther was out of sight, Mavis and Matthew got up and went there separate ways. Only Maela was left at the table.

She let out a sigh.

"Young ma'am," a maid came into the dinning room. She bow slightly showing her respect. "Your piano teacher is here.

Maela got up and walk to the music room.

"Mae," Mavis called.

Maela stop. "Yes?" She ask.

"What are you doing. Why don't you and I go shopping?" Mavis grin.

Mea stare at her sister. She was confused. Mavis never taking her shopping why now all of a sudden.

"I can't, I have piano class." Mae refused.

The corner of Mavis lips turn upward slightly. "So they're doing it to you. Turning you into the prim and proper daughter. After I rebel." Mavis laugh. "Mother and Father are so predictable."

Maela stare coldly at her sister. She's the youngest daughter, aren't the youngest suppose to be the one that could do anything without getting in trouble? Maela resent her sister.

Nicholas and Esther feel to turn Mavis into a respectful daughter, so they turn to Mae. Maela who had to abandon all her dreams just to please her parents by taking her sister place. While her sister live so care free.

Maela had no word to say to Mavis. She turn and continue walking. "Sister you should watch yourself."

"Excuse me?" Mavis ask.

Maela stop but didn't turn. "I heard you were thrown out of Kings Group today. Your shameless action is going to ruin our family. You and brother Max taking interest in those Kings. Ha" Maela laugh slightly. "Mind you get stab in the back. After all they are the grandchildren of a murderer."

Mavis stare at Maela back in shock. Did those word just came out of her quiet sister mouth. On top of that Mea tone of voice wasn't friendly at all.

Mavis shake her head.

Standing by the floor to ceiling window, shirtless. Max glow a puff of smoke. The scent of tobacco filled the room.

As he stare at the window. Max mind was only on a certain someone. "Eira," he called her name. A soft chuckled left his mouth.

"Sir, you sister called," Jason, Max's assistant walk in the living room of Max's mansion.

"What did she want?" Max ask turning slightly to see Jason. He didn't have to ask which sister Jason was talking about. Only one of them call him.

"Ms. Mavis said that your father would accompany to tomorrow meeting with the Hans group." Jason answer.

Max scoff.

"She also said that your mother want you to go to Anna Davis birthday party." Jason said. He went quiet.

Max never did like social events. "Isn't Anna Davis, Tyler's grandmother?" Max ask.

Jason nod. "Yes sir. I heard that the Kings were also invited.

"Ha," Max laugh. "The Davis have some guts. After what Tyler did to that Paris girl."

Jason clear his throat. "Her name is Priya, sir."

Max ignore Jason words. He was amuse.

Every elite family in New Orleans knows that Priya was loved by the Kings family.

"Call her and tell her I'll go." Max said.

Jason eyes widen in surprise but he quickly dismiss it and nod.

The Kings family is to proud to reject the invitation by the Davis family. Even if they don't like them, they would show their face.

Max lip crawl into a smirk.

Eira sat cross leg in Dexter study. She stare at the two man in front of her.

"What is it?" Eira ask getting annoyed.

Rune sat a cross from Eira giving her a dirty look. Eira stick out her tongue at him.

"Immature brat," Rune mutter.

Rune roll his eyes.

"Eira," Dexter started. "Tomorrow is the meeting with the Hans Group."

"Yeah, so?" Eira ask. She couldn't understand what the meeting with the Hans Group had to do with her.

"Rune is going in a business trip tomorrow-"

Eira cut in, "so you want me, to be a step in for my dear brother."

Dexter glance at his son who had a straight face then at his daughter.

"Dad, I have my own business. Why can't Ben take the meeting off Rune's hand?"

"Secretary Ben is also going on the business trip." Dexter said.

"Ha," Eira snorted and turn to her brother. "What is it Rune, a romantic vacation?"

The aura around Rune changs drastically. He turn to his sister giving her a death glare.

"I'll accompany you," Dexter smiled. "Don't worry."

Eira stood up, walking to the door. "Yeah." She open it and walk out.

Dexter sigh and turn to his son. "Rune don't pay any mind to your sister words. She's still young."

Rune stood, "whatever." He turn and walk out. Closing the door, he turn to walk away only to see his mom.

"Rune," Lana called his name in a less gentle voice.

"Mom," Rune greet Lana and start to walk pass her.

"Rune stop," Lana grab his wrist.

Rune stop and turn to stare at his mom.

"You have to go meet a woman five days from now. I don't want to hear that you sent secretary Ben again. Do you understand?" Lana ask her voice holding authority.

Rune blink his eyes and sigh. Every time he come home his mom always wants to send him on blind dates.

Lana smile when Rune nod.

"Okay, come let's go talk with me. We'll have tea and cookies." Lana drag Rune to the backyard.
