Slave to Free

Author: : Katone Tsume
Genre: Werewolf
I don't know if I'm the only one, but it sure feels like it. My mother and father are Alpha and Luna, but I'm nothing to them. I've been forced not to shift, I'm a slave and I am not allowed to speak to anyone in the house.

Chapter 1 First

I'm not your normal girl. I'm too smart for humans, but too dumb for the pack I live with. My parents may be the Alpha and Luna of the pack, but I'm just the slave who works there. They say my wolf form is disgusting, but I think she's beautiful.

"Leto Amara! Pay attention!" The art teacher Mrs. Canne, a ruthless teacher. She's been convinced by my parents that I am a curse. She hates me just as much as my parents do. I tend to stick to the back of my classes just to avoid my teachers.

I sighed inwardly. "I'm sorry Mrs. Canne, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Could you explain it again please?"

I watched as her nostrils flared. "I suppose I could explain it again to those of you who don't understand what you are supposed to be doing."

"Leto, why would you make her angry like that? You know she's going to go back the our parents to complain."

I ignored Demeter like I always did. She was still annoying to me since I met her. Yeah she's my other half, but her whimpering and cowering gets very annoying. Well, I guess I'm kind of like her too. I'm too shy to speak to any one my age. Doesn't matter if they come up to me first or not, I just run away. I guess that's what happens to people like me. I sighed again and opened my mind link to her. "Demeter, you know I have to make it look like I'm human to everyone around us. If they find out that we aren't human, that will be the end of us. Mother will kill us if we reveal our secret again. I know it was an accident, but you know how mother is."

"I know, but still. If we get good grades, we can get into a good collage and get away from the pack."

"You know they won't do that for us, Demeter."

"But we can do it ourselves. If we get a job now, we can save up enough to get into collage. Come on Leto, I don't want to be stuck in this cage anymore. I want to run free. I know you do too."

"Demeter, please. Just wait a little longer. I'll find a way out of thi--" Demeter's growling cut me off and I looked around. She never growled unless I was in danger. I looked at everyone, but they were looking at the door. I followed their stares and saw a male standing at the door. I knew this male. This was my father's Beta, and my major tormentor. I felt the hair raise on the back of my neck. This isn't good. What was he doing here?

"May I help you Sir?" Mrs. Canne straightened her self. I could tell that she liked him. I mean, if he wasn't such a fucking asshole, I'd say he is a good looking man.

"I came to get Leto. Her family wants her home immediately." I didn't spare a second and gathered my stuff. I kept my head down and walked to him.

"I'm h-here." I didn't look at him, but I felt his sneer for speaking.

"Have a good day, Mrs. Canne." He turned and strode out of the room. I followed behind him, but not too close. I stopped at my locker and grabbed my bag. "Hurry up. I don't have all day." He kicked my locker door into my shoulder. I didn't cry out. If I did, he would just do it again. I learned that the hard way.

Once we got outside the school, I noticed at least four others around in the trees. I kept my head down and followed Darrian to the trees. Something felt off. I don't like this. The trees didn't give much protection, but with everyone in their classes, it didn't matter. Darrian stopped and turned to face me. "Strip." He growled at me. I felt my body start to tremble. Not this again. Please anything but this. "Now!" I could see his K9's forming in his mouth. I closed my eyes. This was something I hated to do the most, but if I don't do what I'm told, the punishment is much worse.

I let my bag drop to the ground and with my trembling hands, I removed my clothing. "Good girl." Darrian growled. He may sound like he is praising me, but he wasn't. I kept my boobs and my vagina covered by my arms. "On your knees." I let my already weak knees drop to the ground. I kept my eyes cast downward. I could see all the bruises and scars on my body. I will never get used to anything like this. I heard a zipper and was forced to look up. Darrian's dick was already hard and throbbing in front of my face. "Open up and suck me off whore."

I slowly opened my mouth and he shoved his dick in, making me gag. He laughed as I used my mouth on him. I knew what he liked already. This isn't the first time that he's done this to me. I pushed his cock deep before pulling back to swirl my tongue around the tip. It doesn't usually take long for him to cum. I closed my eyes to hold back my tears. I will not give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry. He put his hand on the back of my head and forced himself down my throat. I felt him pulse as he came. He pulled back and I gasped for air. "Get your clothes on. We are going home." I stood and dressed quickly before he could change his mind. When I turned around, he was already in his wolf form. His fur was a mixture of black and white. He had his clothes already tied around his front legs. I felt him open a link to me. "Get on." In his wolf form, his back was level with my waist. I climbed on, careful not to pull his fur too much. The only reason he carried me, was because he liked the feeling of my boobs on his back. I leaned forward and held on as he took off to the pack house.

It didn't take long to get there. I slipped off his back and brushed his fur back to the way he liked it. I had to do this every time or her would sick his fangs into my arm again. I liked how soft his fur was, so I took my time to make sure all his fur was in place. Once I was down with his fur, I headed inside. The moment the door closed behind me, I was greeted by a slap across my face from my mother. "Who the hell told you that you could go to school before your work is done?" She growled.

I shrunk back from her. "I-I'm s-sorry.. P-please f-forgive m-me M-Mother."

She growled and grabbed my hair. "Who told you that you could call me Mother? You are not my daughter!"

"I-I'm s-sorry M-Mistress."

She threw me to the ground. "Get to doing your work, and don't even think about going back to school until it is all done! I want everything washed twice!" She turned away from me and walked away.

I slowly stood and headed toward my room. I put my bag down and looked in my small mirror. My raven black hair was knotted and my royal blue eyes were dull. "I don't think I'll ever see my eyes bright and my hair shine again." I muttered to myself. I let out a sigh and clanged from my uniform to my dirty rags for clothes. The one thing my mother allowed me to have was a cellphone that didn't work for anything other than music. I put my headphones in and scrolled through my songs. With no games or phone number saved, I had room for thousands of songs. I picked one of my favorites and got to work.

There's a place in my mind

No one knows where it hides

And my fantasy's flying

It's a castle in the sky

It's a world of our past

Where the legend still lasts

And the king wears the crown

But the magic spell is law

T-Take your sword and your shield

There's a battle on the field

You're a knight and you're right

So with dragons now you'll fight

And my fantasy's flying

It's a castle in the sky

Or there's nothing out there

These are castles in the air

Fairy tales live in me

Fables coming from my memory

Fantasy is not a crime

Find your castle in the sky

Castle in the sky

Castle in the sky

You've got the key

Of the kingdom of the clouds

Open the door

Leaving back your doubts

You've got the power

To live another childhood

So ride the wind

That leads you to the moon cause

Fairy tales live in me

Fables coming from my memory

Fantasy is not a crime

Find your castle in the sky

I liked what was called Nightcore. I never got a chance to look up what it was, but that was okay. I liked it so I listened to it. I scrubbed every dish until I shined. I moved on to the laundry then to cleaning the carpets and floors. I dusted and organized everything. When the sun shined through the window of the kitchen, the dishes sparkled. Just like my mother liked. I headed out to the backyard to pull the weeds and water the garden. I wasn't allowed to speak inside the house, but I never got in trouble when I would sing outside.

"In a town in the woods at the top of a hill

There's a house where no one lives

So you take a big bag of your big city money there

And buy it. But at night, when the house is dark

And you're all alone, there's a noise upstairs

At the top of the stairs, there's a door

And you take a deep breath and try it.And the flashlight shows you something moving just inside the door

There's a tattered dress and a feeling you have felt somewhere before."

I struggled to pull a prickly weed out of the ground. I gritted my teeth and pulled as hard as I could. It came out and I fell over, landing on my butt hard. I groaned and stood up. The hair on the back of my neck stood. Someone was watching me. I looked around, but I didn't see anyone. I shrugged and got back to work. I squatted down and fixed up the flowers that got disturbed. I took a look at the garden to make sure that everything was in order before turning away. I grabbed the green bin and headed around the the front yard. I would have to refrain from singing out here. My mother liked to check to make sure that I was pulling weeds and not her flowers. I squatted down again and removed more weeds.

Once I was done watering the flowers after the weeds were gone, I pulled the green bin behind me to the back yard. I rounded the corner and bumped into someones chest. I gasped and pulled my headphones out as I shrank back in fear. Please don't hurt me, was the only thing that went through my mind.

When I didn't feel any hits, I opened my eyes and looked up. "MATE!" Demeter screamed in my head. It couldn't be. Not him. I can't be mates with the Prince of werewolves. He stared at me wide eyed. I quickly dropped to my knees and lowered my head.

"Mate." He said. I flinched at how he said it. Soft. I'm not used to soft. I don't think I ever will be. "Stand, please." I hesitated for a moment, but slowly stood. I kept my head down. The accident that turned my parents against me when I was three, left me with a nasty scar across my face. "Let me see your face." I froze. No. Anything but my face. "Please, let me see your face." He tried to get me to look up, but I stepped back away from his hands. I was starting to get scared again, so I grabbed the green bin and quickly took it to the shed.

"Leto! That was our mate! Go back!" Demeter yelled in my head. I opened my link to her.

"We can't have a mate. Our mother will be angry. I can't. I'm sorry Demeter."

"No! Go back now!" She growled at me. I closed the link. She was going to be super mad at me later. I opened the shed and pulled the bin in. I looked up at the spider in the corner of the dark shed.

"I bet you won't hurt me." I thought, but I turned away and left it alone. I needed to go see mother for more work. I was done with what I usually had to do every day. I headed in the house through the back door. I heard voices coming from the front room. I went in and stood at the door with my head down. The talking stopped and I felt eyes on me. "I-I'm d-done m-my c-chores. I-is t-there any-anything y-you w-want me to d-do n-now M-Mistress?" I was trembling again.

"Yes. Fetch the King some tea and biscuits." Mother sneered at me. I gave a small bow before walking quickly to the kitchen. I washed my hands from the dirt and got to work in making the tea that the King drinks while he is here. I pulled out cups and sugar and biscuits. I walked back to the front room and set down the tray and gently as I could with my trembling hands. There was a light clink from the tray hitting the table. My mother growled and slapped me across the face again. I stumbled back but gained my balance once again. "How dare you!" My mother raised her hand again, but the hit didn't come. I opened my eyes to see the Prince standing between my mother and I.

A growl rippled through his chest, making my mother drop to her knees. He turned to me and gently took my chin with his fingers. I couldn't stop my trembling from my mother hitting me, but with the Prince being so gentle to me, made me tremble even more. My heart was pounding and I'm pretty sure he could hear it. I stepped back and accidentally knocked the tea tray to the floor. I gasped and dropped down to clean it. I was trembling so much that I sliced my fingers on the broken glass. I winced, but I had to clean this up. Mother will punish me after the King and Prince are gone. "Jacin, why did you stop this maid from being punished?"

"Father, she's not a maid, she is my mate." The room went silent except for the clock that ticked the seconds away on the wall. "Plus, she's actually her daughter." Silence fell again. I caught a glimpse of my mother's horrified face from the corner of my eye.

"I'm going to die. 16 years old, and I'm going to die." I thought. I quickly cleaned the glass and headed to the kitchen. My finger were cut up pretty badly. Normal wolves would have healed already, but since I am not allowed to shift, I couldn't heal like a normal wolf.

"Mate!" Demeter yelled. I turned and looked at Prince Jacin and his father who were now standing in the kitchen door way.

"Come with us girl. We are leaving." The King's tone was final, but I was afraid. Mother was going to hurt me again. They were just toying with me. They are just going to take me and hurt me like mother has. Oh Moon Goddess.. I trembled even more. Jacin stepped toward me, but I stepped back. When I looked up, I knew they saw the fear in my eyes. "Child, we are not going to hurt you." King Ty's tone had softened after seeing the fear in my eyes. I shook my head and pointed to the fridge. They furrowed their brows and looked at the fridge. Darrian had left a note there for me. "Leto, after you have finished with your chores you are to meet me by the river." King Ty read aloud.

Jacin read the note again before looking at me. "What does this mean?" I shook my head. I couldn't tell him. I couldn't tell anyone. The pack turned a blind eye to what Darrian was doing to me. Jacin took a moment to think before looking at his father. "Father, I would like to stay for dinner here." My jaw dropped, but I quickly closed it and turned away. He was going to try my cooking and not even know it. I steeled myself as much as I could and ushered them out of the kitchen. I pointed to the front room and turned away to go back in the kitchen.

I cooked and served dinner before heading back to the kitchen to clean. My stomach growled, but I ignored it. There would be time to eat after I was done my work. I might be able to get a little bit off the bones tonight. it would have to do. The dishes piled up as fast as I washed them. "Hey, Slave!" I turned and looked up at the pack member that called me. He threw a grape tomato at me. It bounced off my head and landed on the floor. I bowed and turned back to the dishes. "Who the fuck said I was done with you?" He grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled my head back I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth against the pain. Any noise would get me punished. "Get down and suck me off whore." He pushed me to the ground hard. I felt the bruises forming on my knees. I slowly opened my mouth. He slapped me. "Faster." He growled.

"What is going on in here?" I heard Jacin. Tears blurred my vision.

"What the fu-- Your Highness. I.. I uhh.." The tears slipped down my face as I heard him coming closer. I hadn't moved when Jacin looked at me. My bandaged hands hanging at my sides, my head pulled back by Bruce and his dick forced into my mouth as tears rolled down my face. Jacin growled at Bruce. "Th-this isn't wh-what it looks like." Bruce pushed me away before kicking me in the stomach. The air in my lungs was gone.

Chapter 2 Second

I gasped and struggled to get air in my lungs again. I heard the tearing of clothes and the growls and yelps of a fight. I forced myself to my feet and ran for my room. The only safe place I had in this house. I gulped down air, trying to get my heart to calm down. I slowly walked over to my small mirror. My face was bruising from my mother and Bruce's slaps. I sighed and turned away. I sunk down onto my small mattress. I could still hear the fight going in the kitchen. This was bad. Why did I have to be done with the gardens when he was outside.. Mother was going to punish me for sure now..

My door opened. I looked over and saw my father standing in the door way. Oh no... "You have caused us enough trouble." He growled at me. "First shifting in the school, now having the Prince fight for you? How dare you run away and hide while His Highness gets hurt!" Father strode across my room in two strides. I shrank back, but not fast enough. He grabbed me by the throat and held me against the wall. I couldn't feel the ground. I couldn't breath. "I'll make sure you don't cause anymore trouble for anyone ever again." He squeezed my throat. I felt something pop. I tried to cry out, but it wouldn't come out passed father's hand.

The darkness was closing in on me fast. I heard someone coming up the stairs. It was Mother. She stood in the doorway with her hands balled into fists. "My turn." She growled. Father let go and I dropped to the floor. I gasped for air. Mother stood over me now. I began to tremble. My room was no longer safe. Mothers foot connected with my stomach. Tears filled my eyes. I was struggling to catch my breath when her foot connected with my throat. I felt a second pop. The darkness was still taking over me when her foot connected with my temple. Everything got very blurry after that. I couldn't move. I could barely breath.

Someone.... help me... I couldn't feel Demeter anymore. She was hiding. A harsh growl vibrated the floor. I couldn't quite tell, but I think it was King Ty in his wolf form standing at my door. The darkness kept coming. Father growled and stomped on my head. The darkness took over completely.

I felt like I was drifting.. No.. I think I was being carried. I could feel warmth around me in this darkness. I couldn't hear anything. I couldn't smell anything either. At some point, I could hear beeping, but it would get very quiet. I think I was waking up, but slipped and went back into the darkness. I couldn't tell what time it was. I didn't know what day it was. Day or night, I didn't know. All I knew was that I was floating in the darkness unable to do anything. "Ure she will be---" What was that? I concentrated on trying to hear. "Doctor, I need you--- the best." I slipped back into darkness again. I floated for what felt like years. I felt like I wasn't going to wake up again. No, I had to wake up. Mother and Father were going to be mad if I didn't get my work done on time.

I heard the beeping again. It kept getting louder and louder. I slowly opened my eyes. It was dark outside. How long was I asleep? I looked around slowly. The room I was in was huge. Two sofas, a comfy looking chair, a coffee table and they were by a huge window. I slowly sat up. "Where am I?" I thought. I opened my link to Demeter. "Demeter, are you awake?" There was nothing from her. I was alone. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood up. Pain shot through my stomach. I gritted my teeth and pushed myself to walk. I didn't go to the window, I walked right to the door. Something pulled on my arm. I looked at my arm and saw an IV, I pulled it out and pulled the sticky things on my chest off. An alarm went off on the heart monitor. I jumped and pushed all sorts of buttons to turn is off. The door opened and I turned around. I was already trembling.

"You are awake. How do you feel?" A woman in a white coat asked me. Her smile was friendly, but I couldn't be here. Mother and Father were going to be very mad if they found out that I caused more trouble. The woman took another step toward me. I took a step back, and tripped over the IV tube, landing hard on the floor. I cried out, but it only came out as a very weak squeak. "Oh Darling.. Please be careful.. I swear I'm not going to hurt you." My heart was pounding again. My breathing was erratic. I was shaking so much that my teeth were chattering. She came closer and reached her hands out to me. I scurried back until I hit the wall. Tears rolled down my cheeks and I couldn't stop them. I was so afraid. "It's okay Sweetheart. I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." She reached for me again. I held up my arms to block my head. My bladder gave. The woman stopped moving and looked at the floor. I did too. A large puddle was forming under me. More tears came. I couldn't stop them. I was causing so much trouble..

The door opened again and there stood Jacin. He was looking at me and the woman crouched in front of me. His eyes went to the floor under me. I saw his cheeks turn slightly pink before he cleared his throat and stepped into the room so he could close the door. "Are you feeling okay, Leto?"

I shook my head and pointed at the woman. He furrowed his brow. He couldn't understand me. My eyes burned with a new wave of tears. It looked like he felt bad that he couldn't understand me. He pulled pout his phone and walked over to me, handing it to me. I shrank back away from him. "It's okay. I want to know what's wrong. Use my phone to type it to me."

I snatched the phone from his hand and typed out my message. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" I threw the phone back at him. He caught it and he looked hurt again.

"Who do you want to help you?" He handed me back his phone.

I snatched it again and typed another message. "LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!" I hesitated for a second but typed a but more. "Causing trouble gets Master and Mistress angry. Please, leave me alone." I threw it back at Jacin. He read the message. I saw his eyes go dark. My fear spiked at the sight and I ran.

I ran through the halls. I realized now that I was in a hospital. I kept running until my bare feet hit the cement of outside. I looked left and right before running to my left. It was darker that way and smelled worse. They wouldn't be able to find me. When I felt like I was far enough away, I hid behind a dumpster and opened my link to Demeter again. "Please Demeter, I need you." I felt something then nothing.

"Leto." Demeter called out. She sounded so scared and disoriented.

"Demeter, please, let me shift."

"I can try." I closed my eyes and felt the shift. It has been so long since my first shift. I wasn't allowed to shift after that. It hurt like hell. I wanted to cry out, but I couldn't make anything more than a measly squeak. I laid there panting for a moment when I heard something. It sounded like claws clicking against the pavement. I whimpered and took off. My black and gold fur wasn't good for hiding, but I was fast.

I risked a look behind me. I was right. There was a dark gray wolf running after me. I whimpered again and put on speed. Father's wolf form was dark gray except for his solid black tail. I couldn't see this wolf's tail. I ran straight to the forest. There had to be somewhere I could hide in this forest.

I found a small hole at the base of a tree. I dove into it and kept my eyes open. The forest was too dark to see much. Dark colors are hard to see here. I heard a rustling not far away. I pushed myself as far back as I could. I was trembling again. I hate being so damn scared all the time.. The rustling came closer. My tail tucked between my legs. The dark gray wolf popped its head in. I growled and it whimpered inching closer. I flared my teeth at it, but it kept coming closer. I growled again, warning them to stay away. "Leto." Demeter's weak voice spoke. "Mate." Again she fell silent. There was something wrong with her.

The wolf, who I knew now was actually Jacin, inched closer. He was halfway into the hole now. I snarled at him, but he wouldn't stay away. He kept getting closer. I closed my eyes for a second. When I opened then, he was right in front of me. out snouts almost touching. I felt panic rising into my chest. I yelped and snapped my jaws at him. I had no intention on actually biting him, but I did. I could taste his blood. He yelped and jumped back, taking that second, I ran again. I ran until I couldn't run any longer. My legs were burning. I was panting heavily. I fell over. My eye were so heavy. I closed them for just a moment.

I opened my eyes slowly to the rising sun. I looked around. I was still in my wolf form, but I wasn't alone. Jacin was laying a few feet away, watching me. My ears went flat and I stood up, my tail tucking between my legs. He stood and shifted. He watched me with worried eyes. I couldn't help but let my eyes wander over his naked form. His chest, his stomach. My eyes wandered down a little farther down. My eyes widened. I had no clue that a male could be that big. He wasn't even hard either! I gulped and forced my eyes back to his face. "May I come closer?" I looked around quickly to see if I could get away, but I was in a clearing. I couldn't hide anywhere. "I'm going to take two steps forward." He did as he said and took two steps and stopped.

He stood there for a few minutes. I was shaking, but I took one step forward. Jacin smiled slightly. "Two more." Again, he took two steps and stopped. I wasn't shaking as much anymore, so I took a few steps forward. Jacin blinked a couple times at my brazen move, but I think he noticed that I was shaking. He was no more than five steps away from me. "I'm going to take three steps. If that's too mush at once, take a step back." He took his steps. I felt my fear rising again. I went to step back but a twig snapped behind me making me jump and cower behind Jacin's let. I smelled him before I saw him. Darrian.

"Leto." Darrian had opened his link to me.

"Darrian.. W-what are you doing?"

"Help me.. Please Leto." He sounded like he was hurt. I whimpered and slowly walked closer. I sniffed the air, I could smell blood. I stepped through a patch of tall grass and saw Darrian laying in his wolf form bleeding out. His breath was labored. I whimpered and shifted back to human form. "H-Help!" My voice was a harsh whisper, but Jacin heard me. He came through the grass.

"What the fuck?" He knelt down next to Darrian, checking how bad his wounds were. "These are bad.." He looked at me. "I don't think he will make it back to the hospital."

I growled and shifted. I tried to get Darrian onto my back, but I ended up getting help from Jacin. I took off back to the hospital. I know he is my biggest tormentor, but he doesn't deserve to die like that. He only ever picked on me, so, I'll make him deal when he's all better.

Jacin had shifted and was given some clothes to wear, but I remained in my wolf form. It still hurt to shift. "I have no idea what you are thinking, but I do hope you know that I do not trust him." I glared at him. I knew what I was thinking and I had a plan.

"He's right. What are you thinking? You know who he is and what he's done to us." Demeter sounded angry.

"I know what I'm doing. I have a plan." I huffed.

"And what's that? Let him kill us when he recovers?" She growled at me.

"No. I plan on making a deal with him. He works for us for a year or I kill him myself."

She growled again and closed the link. She was pissed. "Leto, please tell me something. I want to know what is going to happen." I looked at him then shifted back to my human form. I watched his eyes travel over my body. His cheeks went pink. He pulled off his shirt and handed it to me. I hesitated for a second before I took it. Our fingers brushed together. I gasped at the tiny sparks that exploded across my skin. He blushed a bit darker. "That's normal for fated mates. At least, that's what my father told me would happen."

I felt heat rising in my cheeks. I was beginning to blush like he already was. "Do you uhh.. Do you accept me as your mate?" He was a brighter shade of pink now and it reached his ears. I slipped his shirt over my head. It was way too big for me. The hem of the shirt landed mid thigh. He wasn't a big guy, but he was tall and had muscles, where as I, small and too skinny for my own good.

I took a breath to calm myself and went to give him an answer, but the doctor came out. "Alright, I have good news and bad news. What do you want to hear first?" The doctor was looking right at me. I opened my mouth to answer, but all I could get out was a squeak.

"Let's hear the bad news first." Jacin spoke up.

"Well, his injuries were too severe. He will not make it." I whimpered. "The good news, is that he will not be in pain when he passes and, he is a wake. Would you like to see him?" I nodded. The doctor led me to his room and I pushed the door open.

Darrian was laying on the bed, blood already seeping through the bandages. I opened my link to him. "Darrian?"

He opened his eyes and looked at me. "Leto. Come here." I stepped closer. Darrian took my hand gently. I flinched at the touch. He was gentle. Something that never happened. Something I was not used to. "I'm so sorry, Leto. For what I've done to you. How I treated you. I know I will never have your forgiveness, and that's okay. I don't deserve it." I knew he was speaking out loud for Jacin. My eyes burned. I blink to keep the tears away. "I know I'm going to die here."

"Shut up." I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. Sadness crossed his eyes and he touched my cheek. I flinched at his touch again. Gentle was still something I never knew. I don't think I'll ever get used to it either.

"My sweet and gentle Spring. I wanted you as my mate. I told your father so many times that I loved you, but he never allowed it. An Alpha's rule is absolute. I had no choice but to treat you the way I did." A faint smile pulled on his lips. "I want to give you something. Something I know you like. I know you took extra time to put my fur back to the way I like it. I made sure to keep my fur extra soft, just for you." Tears rolled down my cheeks and Darrian used his thumb to wipe them away. "I love you, my sweet Spring." He smiled and began to shift. I heard the snap of his bones and reform themselves. Soon enough, Darrian's wolf form was laying in front of me. "I will always watch over you after I die."

"You stupid idiot." I ran my fingers through his fur. His breathing became labored again. Sobs ripped through me as I felt his breathing become slow then all together stop. He was gone. My body shook as the sobs rippled through me. Jacin placed his hand gently on my back as I buried my face in Darrian's fur.

"Come, let's go home. I'll have him sent back to his pack for burial." I let Jacin pull me away for Darrian's body. I know he was never gentle like that to me. I know that he had no choice because of my mother and father, but I still don't think that he deserved to die like that. I don't know what happened and I doubt I'll ever know. Same as no one knows what happens at the river. No one will ever know. "You'll be alright, Leto. I have you. I promise to keep you safe and give you anything you want."

I reached my link out to Darrian again, but there was nothing. He was completely gone. I took one more look at him. He looked like he was sleeping. I stopped at the door. Jacin looked at me, but I wasn't looking at him. I was looking at Darrian. I walked back to his body. "Leto?" Jacin sounded worried that I was going to do something stupid. It may have looked like it, but I wasn't. I grabbed a pair of bandage scissors. "Leto, what are you doing?" I ignored him and took a handful of Darrian's fur, cutting it away. I turned back to Jacin who had a confused look on his face.

I tired to speak again, but I still could only make a squeak. He pulled out his phone and handed it to me. "This way he can find me and protect me like he should have while he was alive." Jacin smile slightly and nodded.

Chapter 3 Third

I was not expecting to have such a huge room, but I did. A huge bed, a large vanity, a walk in closet filled will clothes and a bathroom with a huge tub that only I was to use. According to King Ty, I was not allowed to call him anything but Dad. Jacin's room was next to mine, He told me that if I were to ever need him for anything, at any time, that I could just walk into his room and ask. I don't think I would ever be able to get used to this. I had yet to meet Jacin's mother, but every time I try to ask, he would change the subject. I found that odd.

King Ty had handed me my old phone and a brand new one that was already connected and had two number programmed in. One under Daddy, which I assumed was King Ty's number and the other under Jacin.

I spent that afternoon transferring all my songs over to my new phone. I had forgotten just how many songs I had. It took over two hours to complete. I kept testing my voice to see if it would work again, I missed singing, but it didn't work. Just harsh whispers and squeaks. I let out a sigh and headed to the bathroom. There was cherry blossom scented shampoo and conditioner and, what I think, was lavender soap. I ran the water until it was nice and warm. I removed the shirt Jacin gave me and folded it on the counter. After stepping into the tub, I let the water wash away everything. Jacin told me that I was safe now, but I still felt like they were going to turn on me. I would have to keep my guard up at all times until I truly felt safe.

I washed quickly and got out of the shower. I checked all around for a towel, but I couldn't find one. I let out a sigh and just walked out of the bathroom, holding Jacin's shirt. I didn't notice that someone had entered my room until they cleared their throat. I jumped and used the shirt to cover myself. A man in a twin tail dress coat stood with his eyes cast upward, held a pile of light blue towels. "I brought you your towels Ma'am."

I couldn't speak, so I slipped the shirt on and typed a message on my phone. "Thank you. Please put them on the vanity. Also, please just call me Leto.."

He read my message and did as was told and bowed to me. "I do apologize, but I am required to call you Ma'am."

I typed another message. "Stop that! I am of no royal blood! Please call me by my name." I stomped over to him and shoved my phone in his face. Just by the scent, I could tell that he was human.

"I apologize Miss Leto." He bowed again. I growled in frustration. He didn't flinch. He must be one of the few humans to actually know werewolves exist. Before I could type another message, he had already turned away and left. I let out a sigh.

I opened the doors to the closet and walked in, looking at all the beautiful dresses and designer clothes that were neatly put in there. I picked out a light pink dress. I slipped the dress on. It was a bit big, but that was okay. I fell to mid thigh. I stepped out of the closet and jumped back in. Jacin was standing in my room. "Hey." He said. "I didn't mean to startle you. I did knock."

I stepped out and smiled, spinning in a slow circle. When I looked back at him, he was turning the same shape of pink as my dress. I couldn't help it, I giggled. It was the first sound I made since I woke up in the hospital other than harsh whispers and squeaks. Jacin smiled. "A sound. That looks promising." It was my turn to blush now. "I heard you singing in the back yard at your parents pack house. I liked it. I'm not sure what you were singing, but it sounded lovely." He put his finger on his chin in thought. "I think the lines I heard were something like, 'In a town in the wood at the top of a hill there's a house where no one lives'. Something along those lines." I quickly dashed to my bed and snagged my phone putting on the song. I could not stop the huge smile that was spreading on my face. He smiled at the song. "Yes that one." He looked at the title. "Creepy Doll. Well, I would say dolls are creepy." He laughed.

I tired to test my voice again, but nothing. I let out a sigh and paused the song. I typed out a message to him. "Jacin, I want to sing, but my voice won't work. Do you know what the Doctor said about it?"

He read the message and gave me a sad look. "The Doctor said that you could get it anywhere from 24 hours or a year.. He said that you suffered from a lot of trauma that night and it will take time for it to heal fully." I looked down at the floor. "I know how you feel. I can feel what you feel."

I blinked back my tears ans squared my shoulders. I was not going to let this get me down. I was going to try to be happy and outgoing. At least as much as my fears would let me. I reached out and took Jacin's hand. The sparks exploded on my skin. It was an addicting feeling. He looked at me and I could see the surprise in his eyes. He must have not thought that I would ever touch him. Don't get me wrong, I was terrified that at any moment, he would turn and hurt me. I pulled him to the door with a smile. He followed with ease. "You want to go somewhere?" I nodded and pointed to the window.

"Why not try to link him? It might work." Demeter spoke. I knew she was fascinated by him. Same with ever other she-wolf and human girl.

I took the chance and opened my link to him. It was barely there, but I managed to take a hold of it and form a connection. "C-Can you h-hear me?"

Jacin jumped and looked at me. "How did you do that? I've tried to link you for a while now but I couldn't find you."

Heat rose in my cheeks. "I usually don't keep my mind open. I always have my mind closed."

He smiled. "I'm glad I can talk to you now. Even if its only one side that can be heard to others." He laughed.

I couldn't help but laugh too. "I want to meet him!" Demeter shouted, throwing herself against the cage in my mind.

"I don't know Demeter... He may not be ready for you yet."

"Ready for who? Who's Demeter?"

I felt my face go very hot. I had forgotten to close the link to him. "S-She's my wolf."

"Kane wants to meet his mate." He was blunt, but I could see the pink in his face get darker. I took a deep breath and let Demeter take over. I knew her eyes were a very bright green, but I didn't think Jacin would react to the difference. "Oh my. That is a very beautiful shade of green." I just hoped that Demeter wouldn't do anything stupid.

"H-hello. I... I'm Demeter."

Jacin's eyes turn from there usual brown to a bright gold. His wolf was out now. "Mate." He growled.

Demeter shrank back. Her and I have never seen how mates were supposed to do anything. We were literally in the dark on everything wolf related. "M-Mate." Her voice sounded like it was trembling.

He stepped closer to us and Demeter coward away. She was becoming afraid. Kane didn't seem to notice. I forced Demeter back and took over. "S-stop!" I screamed into the link. My scream seemed to have knocked him out of his trance and he stepped back with a whimper. His eyes went back to brown.

"A-are you okay? Did Kane hurt you? Did he scare you?" Jacin was so worried. I began to tremble. It was very noticeable that I was shaking. "I'm so sorry.. Leto, please forgive me." I gave him a small smile, but I could tell that he was hurt that I had gotten scared of him.

The rest of the walk out of the house, or should I say palace, was slow and quiet. I kept my link open to him, but no words were said. He kept a step or two away from me. I wanted to close the space, but I was still shaking so we just left the space there and kept walking.

We walked for a while on the palace grounds. A couple of brawling males bumped into me, and I fell. I squeaked at the pain of being cut open on the rocks. The males stopped at rolled to their back exposing their bellies to Jacin when he growled at them. I looked at my bleeding hands and scraped knee. One of the males, a black and brown fur color crawled closer to me and exposed his belly to me. I knew it was only an accident. I wasn't mad at all. I put my head down on his belly, not wanting to get my blood in his fur. His fur was soft. When I lifted my head, he rolled and gently rubbed his snout against my cheek. I guess this is how it was to be accepted into a pack. To be one of them. I looked at Jacin. "Tell him that I'm okay please?"

He gave me a slight nod. "She says that she is okay."

"And that he needs to make his fur a little softer." I giggled.

"She says that you need to-- Wait, what?" He looked at me, and I giggled. He shook his head and sighed. "And that you need to make your fur a little softer."

The black and brown wolf tilted his head and gave me a strange look. "I like soft fur, and if you keep it soft I'll come care for the mats."

"Do I have to say that?" Jacin's cheeks were pink again. I nodded. He sighed. "She likes soft fur. And if you keep it soft, she will come care for the mats." He paused for a moment. "Of course she is! I would never take a mistress! She is my fated mate." He cheeks and ears looked like that would feel hot if I touched them. I couldn't help it. I burst into laughter. They all looked at me.

I pulled my phone out and typed. "Jacin, you face looks like it would be hot to the touch. Mr. Almost soft, I am Leto, pleased to meet you. And Mr. White fur, please stop laying on your belly. I won't hurt you."

Jacin read the message out loud. "The almost soft one is named Bowen and the white one over there is his brother Kody. They are training to be your guards."

I furrowed my brow. "My guards? Why? Bobo and Koko don't need to be my guards."

Jacin burst into laughter. Bobo and Koko looked at each other than at me and tilted their heads. Jacin recovered from his laughter. "She's calling you Bobo and Koko." Their jaws opened for a moment before they covered their snouts with their paws. "You need guards because you are my mate. Many will want to kill you just to weaken me."

I looked at my hands again, but they were healed, same with my knee. I was healing like a normal werewolf now. That made me smile. Jacin bent down and wiped the blood away so I didn't stain my dress. "Run? Please?" Jacin smiled.

"Sure. Let's go for a run."

I smiled and stood up. I hadn't put shoes on so that was easy enough. I lifted my dress over my head to reveal that I had nothing on underneath. Bobo and Koko turned away. I giggled and shifted, which still fucking hurt! I yipped and pounced at the freedom. I didn't know which one was younger, but I was sure it was Koko who was. I pounced on him. He yelped at the impact. "Could you not act like a pup!" Demeter yelled at me.

"Shush! I haven't gotten to play with other wolves ever. If I wish to act like a pup I will." I growled at her. She huffed and went back into my mind, closing the link. When I looked back at Koko and Bobo, they were watching me with curious eyes. "Can you hear me?" I opened my link to them.

"Yup." They both said.

Oh Goddess.. They heard what I said.

"You really haven't gotten to play with other wolves? Like, ever?" Koko asked.

I lowered my head. "Never.. I wasn't allowed to.."

"Who the hell said that you couldn't play?" Bobo spoke up. He sounded angry.

"My mother and father.." My ears went flat and my tail went between my legs.

"Is your mother some sort of slave driver or something?" I nodded. Three wolves growled. I whimpered and lowered myself to the ground. "Oh don't be afraid. We won't hurt you. If anything, us two goofy brothers will help you experience a whole lot of things that you haven't before." I wagged my tail. I liked that idea. I wanted to know what it was like to live in a pack for once.

"Come on, let's go for a run. I sadly don't have much time left before I have to go to cram school." Jacin said.

"School.. Where would I be going to school? This place isn't anywhere near my old school.."

"You'll go to school with us. You'll be in all our classes but one." Bobo yipped happily.

"Why only one that I won't be in with you?"

They laughed. "Because you are a girl. You girls don't normally enter males gym class."

"I don't care for that. I'd rather not be alone in a new school again.."

They looked at Jacin. "Alright I'll talk to father about it." I yipped happily and pounced around. I liked this. These two brothers were my first friends and Jacin was my mate. I couldn't be any happier. Except for going for a run. I yipped at them and took off into the trees. They struggled to keep up with my small size.

After returning from our run, Bobo and Koko had to go off and get their clothes. I, however, shifted and slipped my dress back on. "I'll take you to the kitchen. Bowen and Kody will meet you there." I followed Jacin to the kitchen. It was huge. I mean, this kitchen held five industrial sized fridges and freezers. How big was this pack!? Jacin leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on the top of my head. I froze. "Find something to eat. I hate how skinny you are." He said then left the kitchen.

I sighed and walked around the kitchen, but I was too afraid to open anything, so I just sat on the counter and waited for Bobo and Koko. I don't know how long I waited, but I got bored of waiting and jumped down. I squared my shoulders and opened everything in search of something to eat. I settled for making stake and eggs. Something that I knew would be filling. I pulled out my phone and turn on some music. I tested my voice again, it came out better. Scratchy, but a whole lot better. I settled on just humming with the tunes as I cooked.

I guess it was a good thing it was about dinner time anyways. I ended up cooking for the entire pack because they liked the smell of my cooking. Bobo and Koko came into the kitchen last. I opened my link to them. "What took you so long?"

"Sorry. We got asked to see Uncle Ty." It turned out that these two were actually twins. That was rare for werewolves.

"King Ty?" I was confused. Did they mean the king or someone else.

"Yeah. He's our uncle. He asked us to move into your room for a week. He has a bad feeling. When he has a bad feeling, he doesn't take the chance. Kinda why he went to your parents territory."

He came to my parents house because of a bad felling? Now I have to sleep with these two brothers in my room for a week because of a bad feeling? I opened my mouth and closed the link. "Are you sure his feeling has something to do with me?" My voice was raspy, but It was starting to work again.

"Yeah. He knows just by the feeling he gets. It also depends on how strong it is. He's able to tell where that person is just by that."

"Strange." My voice cracked.

"We are used to it." They tended to speak in unison. I've heard that human twins did this often, but I never thought werewolves had that thing too. What was it called again? I glared at them as I thought. I never noticed that they were starting to fidget nervously under my glare.

"Twin telepathy!" I blurted out. They jumped and tilted their heads.

"What?"

"Twin telepathy. Twins are often able to speak in unison without trying. They can also tell where and how far away their twin is. Also if one was to get hurt, the other would know where and how badly." My voice was getting clearer. Apparently the longer I was not stressed or afraid, the faster I healed. These boys would be good for me.

"So.. Wait... You're saying because we are twins, that we have some sort of super powers?"

"No. It's not exactly a super power. More something that only twins can do. 98.4 percent of twins have this ability." They even blinked in unison. "Do you two share a bed?"

"Yes. We have always shared a bed."

"That explains everything. You're bond is extremely strong. That also explains why I can link one of you, and both of you will hear me." I bit my bottom lip, realizing just how much of a nerd I sounded like. Heat rose to me cheeks. "I-I'm sorry. Do you want some dinner? I made plenty if you're hungry."

"You're a nerd? Awesome!" I groaned in embarrassment and served them their plates. "We will not eat until you have a plate of food in front of you."

I sighed and grabbed a plate of food. "I have mine, now you boys eat."
