"You saved me, so I'll have my daddy pledge himself to you!" Ada unexpectedly saved a cutie, and in return, she got the cutie's heartthrob father. After their marriage, Gray doted on his wife, always obedient and loving. "Boss, are you really going to let the boss lady take over the company? You won't stop her if she wants to sell it?" "Sell my company? I have plenty of companies. The most important thing is to make my wife happy." "Boss, it's bad! The boss lady says she wants to tear off the roof!" "Go help her with the ladder, protect her well." "Daddy, thank you for the toys, dolls, and cake you bought for me!" "That was for your mother." "Honey, I really like this script. Can I take the role?" Gray remained calm. "Do whatever you want." "In this script, there are some steamy, passionate scenes with another man." "I will always support you, and I won't restrict your freedom." That night, Ada scrambled out of bed. "Gray! You liar! You're just jealous!" The next day, Ada had to stay home to rest because of the intense bedroom activities.

Chapter 1 Seven Months Pregnant

The temperature felt like volcanic magma, steaming...

She felt like a lonely boat stranded in the blazing sea of fire...

Floating aimlessly, unable to escape-

"Hey, wake up... the air conditioning is strong here, don't sleep and catch a cold-"

The pressure on her shoulder startled Ada awake. She met the nurse's concerned eyes, and immediately felt a blush of shame, quickly averting her gaze.

Damn, it had been quite a while, yet the image of that night with Bill still haunted her dreams.

Thankfully, she was too drunk to remember, otherwise, she wouldn't know how to face Brother Bill.

The nurse handed her a document, "You forgot to take your pregnancy check-up report. Doctor James asked you to come back next week!"

Ada took the report with a sweet smile and carefully placed it into her bag.

Bill was overseas for an inspection and was supposed to return today. Ada couldn't help but feel nervous as she thought about their meeting tonight.

Because Bill's location was so remote, she had only managed to contact him now, seven months into the pregnancy.

Thinking back to Bill's shock when he learned she was pregnant, Ada grew uneasy.

Was it because of pregnancy hormones making her overly sensitive? Ada felt like Bill wasn't as happy as she was.

The doctor had reassured her, saying that when men find out about their first child, it's hard for them to adjust their mindset. It's always like this!

But... she couldn't possibly be the one to bring up marriage, could she?

She left the hospital and stepped into the scorching sun.

Ada struggled to support her waist, ready to hail a cab, when suddenly, a glaring red sports car sped towards her.

Ada's heart jumped in alarm, and she quickly stepped back.

With a screech of the car's engine, the red sports car narrowly brushed her clothes and came to a sudden halt.

Ada's heart almost stopped, and as she steadied herself, she saw Adele stepping out of the car, her large wavy hair and tight red dress accentuating her curves.

"Adele, are you out of your mind?"

Adele looked at her with a meaningful smile, crossed her arms, and strutted towards Ada, using her high heels as an advantage to stand proudly over Ada, who was heavily pregnant. "What? Are you afraid I'll crash into the bastard child in your belly?"

Ada instinctively protected her belly and took a step back, looking at Adele warily. "Adele, don't go too far!"

Even though she knew Adele had always been antagonistic toward her, Ada never expected her to say such malicious things.

"I'm going too far? What about you? You're pregnant with someone else's child but pushing it onto Bill's head. Tsk tsk... Ada, don't you have any shame?"

Ada froze. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

"Oh, did you really believe the person you were with that night was Bill?" Adele laughed hysterically. "You've been saying you and Bill grew up together, childhood sweethearts, but you don't even know what his body looks like?"

The more Ada listened, the paler her face became, and she felt a chill under the scorching sun.

Now, with Adele's malicious reminder, she suddenly recalled that apart from the body, the person from that night had many differences from Bill...

Chapter 2 Who Will Pay for Her Life

"Let me tell you the truth! That night you drank the spiked wine I gave you, you were so unsatisfied. I kindly found two strong men for you. Who would have known that you, ungrateful, wandered into a stranger's room and shamelessly-" Adele spoke with a tone of disgust. "Brother Bill is just too kindhearted, afraid you couldn't handle it if you woke up, so he told you that it was him!"

"You..." Ada trembled with anger, unable to hold herself back, grabbing Adele's wrist. "Why are you doing this to me? Why? Haven't you hurt me enough?"

Adele, initially frowning and about to push Ada away, suddenly softened when she saw Bill behind her. Her voice turned sweet and pitiful. "Sister, I know I was wrong. You can hit me, scold me, but don't blame Brother Bill..."

Ada froze. The next moment, Adele suddenly fell to the ground, and it seemed like she had been pushed.

"Ada! What are you doing-"

A scolding voice sounded from behind.

Ada turned in surprise to see Bill, his face cold as he walked past her and helped Adele up. "Adele, are you okay?"

Adele practically clung to Bill, "Brother Bill, I didn't mean it, I really know I was wrong... I'm so sorry for everything, it's all my fault..."

"Alright, it's fine now, I'll handle it." Bill patted Adele's shoulder and ushered her into the car. "I'll talk to Ada."

Ada's mind went blank as she watched Bill approach her, watching his mouth move.

He spoke for a long time.

He talked about their childhood together, about his struggles with falling in love with Adele, about his anger when he learned of Adele's betrayal, about his shock and guilt when he found out about Ada's pregnancy, and how he accepted Adele's apology...

Finally, he said, "Ada, I'm sorry, I can't marry you. It's not because of that night or this child, I'm not rejecting you. It's because I can't hurt Adele any more, and I don't want to deceive my feelings anymore."

He had traveled abroad with Adele these past few months, and after spending so much time together, he couldn't bear to part with her. Even though he had admitted that it was him with Ada that night to make up for the hurt, deep down, he had already chosen Adele.

So when he learned Ada was pregnant, despite his reluctance, he immediately went to the Turner family to explain everything to the two elders and told Ada the truth.

"So... Bill... you knew all along that Adele drugged me and ruined my innocence? You told me that it was you that night to protect her?" Ada, regaining her voice, looked at Bill with a hopeless expression.

"Ada, Adele didn't mean it. She's young, impulsive..."

"And what about me?" Ada looked up at Bill, despair etched on her face. "Did you ever think about me even a little bit?"

Bill said nothing, and after a long pause, he reached out to pull Ada. "The sun is too strong, let's go home..."

"Don't touch me-" Ada shoved Bill's hand away and suddenly started laughing.

Living up to this point, Ada felt like she was nothing but a joke.

She worked herself to exhaustion to get into B University just to be with Bill.

She gave up her dream of acting to please Bill.

To match him in status, she left her adoptive parents and returned to the Turner family, awkwardly trying to please these so-called elites...

In the end, all she got was: "I can't betray Adele."

Adele not only took her identity, her biological parents, but now... she had also taken the man she loved!

Adele was young, so her mistakes were forgivable?

Then-who will pay for Ada's life?

She didn't even know who the man that night was!

Ada covered her face, trembling like a sieve, her despair reaching its peak.

Bill saw Ada walking aimlessly toward the road, dazed, and just as he was about to catch up, Adele grabbed his sleeve from behind. "Brother Bill, where are you going?"

In that brief moment of hesitation, a loud crash rang out. Ada, walking across the crosswalk, was thrown into the air and crashed hard to the ground.

"Help! Help-someone hit a pregnant woman-!"

In the blinding light, Ada saw the people swaying and those two faces that made her sick. The tightening pain in her belly made her consciousness slip away. She blinked once, and blood poured from her forehead into her eyes... The world fell into darkness...

Chapter 3 The Little Boy in the Bar

Five years later.

Eton Bar, the empty corridor on the top floor.

Ada had spent the entire night drinking with an investor, and her head was pounding. She had planned to find a quiet spot to sober up, but Grace followed her, so she had to gather her energy and deal with her. "Sister Grace, what's up?"

"Ada, I'm asking you, did you sign up for the audition for the lead female role in Throne Game?"

"Yes, why?"

"Don't go tomorrow." Grace, as her manager, was preventing her from auditioning for a role that many entertainment companies were fighting for.

Ada wasn't surprised by this. She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Reason?"

"You made decisions without consulting me. Didn't you know the company already arranged for Adele to audition for it?"

"Seems like that's not in conflict with the company's arrangement." Ada smiled faintly. "Did Adele ask you to come talk to me? Is she afraid I, a nobody with no fame, will steal her role?"

"Do you really think you can steal Adele's role? That's wishful thinking! Let me tell you, the company invested 30 million in this project, and Adele has already been pre-selected!"

"If that's the case, why are you so nervous?"

"You're my artist, so you have to follow my arrangements!" Grace said with an air of authority.

"Heh, so you finally admit I'm your artist."

"Ada, I don't have time to argue with you. If you're going to act this way, don't blame me for what happens next!"

Before Ada could respond, a sudden force pushed her into the bar's storage room. At the same time, her phone was snatched away.

With a loud bang, the door was slammed shut.

...

The footsteps outside grew fainter.

Ada knew calling for help was useless. She sat quietly on the floor against the door, her face expressionless.

When she first joined the company, Adele was somewhat restrained, at most assigning Ada some villain roles. Recently, however, she had become increasingly reckless, resorting to low-level tricks like this...

If she couldn't get this role, Ada would have to find a way to leave Star Shining Company.

Lost in thought, a faint noise suddenly reached her ears.

Was it a mouse?

Ada followed the sound and froze.

Behind a pile of boxes, she saw a little boy.

The child appeared to be about four or five years old. His features were delicate, and he looked like a soft, white cutie, trembling in the corner, his dark eyes full of caution and wariness.

Wait, what was a child doing in a bar's storage room?

Surely, no irresponsible customer would bring a kid to a bar?

"Hey, cutie, who are you? How did you get in here?"

"Did you sneak in?"

"Were you locked in here too?"

"Want some candy?"

After a while, the child remained silent, only shaking even harder, like a scared little animal.

Ada decided not to ask any more questions, it wasn't her business.

The two of them quietly occupied opposite corners.

Suddenly, the light above flickered, then went out.

In the dark, Ada vaguely heard a creaking sound, and after listening closely, she realized it was the sound of teeth chattering.

Ada chuckled and spoke to the little one, "Afraid of the dark?"

The chattering paused for a moment, then became louder.

Heh, what a timid little one.

Ada stood up, patted her backside, and walked toward the little one...
