Author: : Gale Kaaya
Genre: Romance
I dreamed of my ideal guy, but when I opened my eyes, I found that he was the Christopher I usually can't stand. As I gradually opened my heart, he revealed that he was in a relationship. Furious, I went to catch him cheating, but he cornered me step by step and pushed me onto the bed. "Take a good look-do I have any kiss marks?" "Touch my face-are there any lipstick stains?" Huh? Why is this jerk only bringing up things I don't want to see?

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

I spent the night with my dream guy, but when I opened my eyes, it was actually Christopher, the guy I usually couldn't stand.

As I gradually opened my heart to him, he revealed our relationship to everyone.

Furious, I went to confront him, but he cornered me and pushed me onto the bed.

"Look closely. Do you see any hickeys on me?"

"Feel my face. Any lipstick smudges?"

Huh? What sneaky tricks is this jerk up to?

Just as I turned my head, I was met with his magnified face right in front of me.

There was even a hand draped around my waist.

Ethan, asleep, seemed far more approachable without his usual stern demeanor.

Thinking about last night, I couldn't help but smile. The cold and aloof CEO had shed his icy exterior, making him irresistible.

I carefully reached out and touched the abs I'd longed for.

Before I could go any further, my hand was caught.

"Touching me will cost you a hundred grand!"

I looked up to see him staring at me with a smirk, and my smile froze.

Because Ethan would never say something so shameless.

I kicked him off the bed and threw a few pillows at him to vent my anger.

"Christopher, I'm going to kill you!!"

This jerk actually dared to pull off such an underhanded substitution trick!

Christopher got up and walked to the bathroom, not even bothering to put on clothes.

"Clearly, I'm the one who lost out here, Lady. You clung to me and wouldn't let go, forcing me into this! Poor me, an innocent guy~"

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. I tried hard to recall the events of yesterday. Where did it all go wrong?

I was tipsy and fell into Ethan's arms, that was right.

He held me and walked to the room, that was also right.

How did my cold and unattainable love suddenly turn into this despicable Christopher?

It wasn't until Christopher slicked back his hair that I realized where the problem was.

They had the same face, but the biggest difference was their aura. Ethan always wore a custom suit and had slickedback hair, exuding calm and coldness.

When Christopher styled his hair like that, I mistook him. It was all because the lighting was too dim at night, yes.

I pretended to be nonchalant and handed him a card.

"Last night's fee, I don't owe you a dime. Don't you dare tell anyone about this!"

Christopher flashed photos on his phone, all of me taking advantage of him last night. I couldn't bear to look, feeling my face heat up.

"Unless you agree to be my assistant for a month, I'll send these to Ethan."

What a sly move, hitting me right where it hurts.

Just as I was about to say something, he continued to tempt me.

"I can also teach you how to pursue Ethan. Twin telepathy is the strongest; no one knows him better than I do."

Alright, as the saying goes, pride can be swallowed but not dignity, but his offer was too tempting.

So, I started my new job.

Christopher was a top-tier star in the entertainment industry, with many female fans. There were hardly any female fans around him, let alone people.

On my first day, I received many curious looks, like I was some exotic creature.

I silently put on the mask I had prepared and kept a three-meter distance from Christopher.

But he wasn't satisfied with that either, walking over to grab my arm.

"Are you crippled? Can't even keep up a few steps?"

Some things never change.

If we weren't in public, I'd have punched him.

When we arrived at the set, I realized his co-star was Melody. No wonder he wanted me to be his assistant.

She was notorious for stirring up scandals and would stop at nothing. Ordinary people couldn't handle her.

As soon as we entered the makeup room, Melody came over with coffee.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

The character she played was the innocent type. Her makeup made her look pitiful, and she spoke in a soft and weak voice.

"Christopher, can I ask you a few questions? There are some things I don't quite understand."

Before Christopher could respond, I stepped in front of him, flashing a practiced smile.

"Sorry, Miss Moore, but Christopher is getting his makeup done. It's not convenient right now."

Christopher, from behind, suddenly chimed in.

"It won't be convenient even after I'm done."

Melody's face almost fell, and she hurried away.

I thought that was the end of it, but when the director called for a cut during filming, she started playing tricks again. The behind-the-scenes photographer was holding a camera, and she leaned into Christopher's arms.

In a moment of quick thinking, I took a step forward and caught her, while Christopher discreetly stepped back. He gave me a thumbs-up.

If Christopher had caught her, it could have been used to generate buzz and attract shippers. If he hadn't, people would accuse him of being arrogant.

A win-win plan.

The last scene of the day involved the female lead's servant climbing into the male lead's bed, getting caught by the female lead, who then heartbreakingly confronted the servant.

The problem was, we were short one servant.

And so, I became the servant.

According to the script, Melody's character called me into the room, tearfully sharing her struggles and how we had to rely on each other at the Barnes Residence.

But as soon as the door closed, Melody slapped me across the face, furious.

"No wonder you're always making eyes at Master Barnes, you shameless wretch! People like you are only fit to be servants for life. Don't you dare dream otherwise!"

I was stunned by the slap and couldn't follow the original lines. Instead, I played the role of an ambitious servant.

"Why don't you think about why you can't keep Master Barnes? Even without me, there will be others in the future."

"You little brat, I'll tear your mouth apart!"

She raised her hand again, clearly intending to slap me again. I instinctively closed my eyes.

Christopher stepped in, pulling me aside and gently pushing Melody away.

"Usually so frail, but turns out you're a jealous woman. If you keep this up, I'll give you divorce papers!"

The plot was getting messier, and the director finally called for a cut.

As soon as we stopped, Christopher grabbed my face, inspecting it seriously.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt?"

I glared at him. "How about I give you a slap and you tell me?"

Melody also came over, looking at me with a guilty expression.

"Sorry, I had a sudden burst of inspiration and didn't get a chance to discuss it with you."

I've seen more drama than she's had hot dinners, so I could tell she was lying.

But as Christopher's assistant, I couldn't risk his reputation, so I swallowed my anger.

"I understand. I still have a lot to learn from you, Miss Moore. Your improvisation is impressive."

Christopher stood beside me, looking at me with frustration and gritted teeth.

After the shoot resumed, he gave Melody a loud slap, making her face turn red.

Meeting Melody's gaze, he shook his hand and lightly repeated.

"Sorry, I had a sudden burst of inspiration and didn't get a chance to discuss it with you."

Suddenly, Christopher's image in my mind grew much more impressive.

I only had a walk-on role, so my part was quickly done.

Christopher, the male lead, was in the studio from morning till night, with no end in sight.

Feeling sleepy, I decided to order some desserts for the crew, helping Christopher build goodwill.

It wasn't until after ten that we finally wrapped up.

Christopher, looking exhausted, slumped into the car, closing his eyes to rest.

For the first time, I directly experienced his workload and suddenly understood his mental state.

Who wouldn't feel overwhelmed with such a workload?

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Music suddenly blared in the car, loud enough to startle me. Knowing how Christopher couldn't sleep through any noise, I quickly grabbed his phone from his pocket to end the call before he could wake up annoyed.

The rest of the drive was silent, marked only by his shallow breathing. Even after I parked, Christopher remained still. I gently nudged him.

"Christopher, we're home. Time to head to bed."

He grabbed my hand irritably. "Shut up. Keep talking, and I'll throw you out."

Something was definitely wrong. I reached out to touch his forehead and felt the heat radiating off it. Christopher had a fever.

I managed to drag him inside and scoured the house for fever medicine. After much coaxing, I got him to take it. Just as I was about to fetch an ice pack to cool him down, he held onto my hand tightly.

"Can you stay until I fall asleep?"

Christopher was incredibly vulnerable when sick, often needing someone close. I tried to pull my hand back, but he clung to it.

I sighed. "I'm not leaving. Just getting an ice pack."

He looked at me with those pleading eyes, making it hard to refuse. "Lie down. I'll stay right here with you."

He immediately lay down, clutching my arm like a pillow.

"Move closer. It's uncomfortable to hold you from here."

"How about I lie in your arms instead?"

His eyes lit up, full of hope. "Really?"

"No, you can't."

Fortunately, Christopher's fever broke the next day. As soon as he recovered, his demanding nature reappeared, ordering me around non-stop. I didn't have a moment to relax.

After work, I noticed a message from Ethan. "Lynda, want to have dinner together? Are you free today?"

I called him back swiftly. "Ethan, where should we meet? I'm done with work."

There were rustling sounds on the other end, likely Ethan packing up for the day. He rarely extended such formal invitations, making this feel somewhat special.

"Ethan, are you ready?"

A woman's voice suddenly came through the phone, and I froze. Before I could ask, Ethan reassured me, "I'll send you the location. See you soon."

Christopher nudged me, breaking my trance. He overheard everything and shamelessly invited himself along.

"Just one more seat. The private room is already booked. I'll be your wingman and help you win him over!"

Christopher always had clever ideas. Hearing the woman's voice in Ethan's office, I decided to bring him along. I wasn't about to let someone else steal my moment.

We arrived early and played a game while waiting. When Ethan finally showed up, I kept an eye on the door. As it opened, I rushed over but stopped dead when I saw him holding a girl's hand.

"Ethan, who is this?"

The girl shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "You must be Lynda. I'm Ethan's girlfriend. I've heard you two grew up together. It's nice to finally meet you."

Ethan pulled her close, his gaze tender. "Come on, let's sit. We'll catch up properly in a bit."

I barely registered what was said after that. My mind replayed one thing: Ethan had a girlfriend. I had counted on Christopher to help me navigate my feelings, but Ethan had already moved on.
