Shielding Her World

Vivian, a bright and ambitious young professional Designer, has been searching for her dream job for months. She lands an interview at a prestigious company, TTC for her ideal role in designer . As she prepares for the interview, Vivian researches the company and practices her responses to common questions.

However, she's still nervous and unsure if she'll make a good impression.

Vivian stood outside the sleek glass building, smoothing her dress and taking a deep breath.

She had been searching for a job as a designer for months, and this interview at TTC was her best chance yet.

As she entered the lobby, a friendly receptionist greeted her and led her to a conference room.

Vivian sat nervously outside the conference room, she was shocked! She tightened her grip at the files that she was holding her gaze never left the man who is sitting in the front of the CEO's table.

Vivian don't know whether to walk closer to the table or to walk out of the room!

She just stood rooted on the ground!

She couldn't believe her eyes, the man is very familiar to her!

She knew him very well.

Vivian just stared at the man, he's wearing a white long sleeved polo shirt, black tuxedo and a black necktie. He looked like a Business man, his expression is as cold as ice. He looked as aloof and stern.

His eyes are pitch black, his hair is slicked back which made him looked more respective and his red thin lips are tightly closed.

He looked so different from the man that she knew five years ago.

He looked more matured and masculine now.

"Why are you just standing there Miss Vivian?" Daniel said coldly.

Vivian didn't respond, she just stared at the with her blank expression. She can't explain what she feels, she's nervous, surprised, scared and hurt!

"The way he speaks....also changed! He's so cold to the point that Vivian can feel the Chill in her bones.

"It's....its....it's...you." It's the only three words that Vivian was able to blurt out in a faint voice.

The man didn't respond, he stared at her coldly.

Vivian can't look at him straight to his eyes, so she just lowered her head to hide the pain that she felt inside.

"So...so you're the CEO of TTC." It was not a question but a confirmation.

TTC( Today's Trend clothing) is a clothing company that was founded two years ago. But she had an interview to work as a designer, she didn't expect that Daniel, her ex lover is the CEO and founder of the company.

Vivian never thought that they will meet again after their breakup.

"Are you just going to stand there?" Daniel asked again but now, his gaze sharpened.

Vivian swallowed her saliva!

"Miss Vivian stop wasting my time." Daniel said in a calm voice.

Vivian snapped back to her sense. She lifted her gaze and looked at Daniel's expression.

"I'm .... I'm sorry sir."

A breakup is always difficult.

Anyone who says it doesn't hurt is a liar.

Those who are dumped know better than anyone how much it hurts. And I speak from experience.

When I was dumped by the boy I was madly in love with I felt awful.

For days I wouldn't leave my room, I said then that I would never see him again and that I would never fall in love again.

But how did I find myself in front of my ex-boyfriend.

Five years ago...

Everything started here.....

There's a banquet inside the mansion of the Gabriel's family. Every guest is wearing sophisticated and luxurious gowns and tuxedo as if they are going to attend the red carpet awarding.

The Gabriel's family has only one child and tonight they are celebrating their only child's 18th birthday party.

In the middle of the crowd, the 18 years old lady is dancing with her 18th roses. She is wearing a white gown, she is like a princess in the fairytale, she has everything that every girl in the world could wish for.

Her father is the chairman and the owner of the Ms clothing company.

Their company is one of the competitive clothing companies in the entire country and even abroad.

They are rich and she can get whatever she wants.

Luxurious bags, dresses, jewelry, cars she has everything she wanted. She even had four bodyguards with her wherever she goes. She's a beauty!

After her 18th roses dance, Vivian sitting in the chair to take a rest. She feels tried from dancing and she already gets board with this party.

There are guests with the same age as her, they approached her to greet her a happy birthday.

Of course!

Vivian has to smile at them and say thank you!

But for her, all of them are fake and pretenders! They just want to be close to her to gain some benefit!

Yes! It's just because their family is rich.

"Heyy, pretty lady! It's your birthday but your expression looked like you're going to a funeral!

Vivian knitted her brows when she heard the familiar voice of a woman from behind her. She turned her head to look behind her and there!

She found Bella su! Her best friend!

Bella is four years older than her, she is twenty two.

Bella she's a good looking lady, she has an American physique because her mother is half American and half Chinese.

Her mom is Sandra Su the CEO of SU corporation, she took over the position when her husband passed away five years ago.

Bella could catch every guy's attention even if she is just walking in the street. She's not just good looking lady, she's also smart!

In fact, at a young age, she already established her own business!

She owns a bar in America and she's making money from it! She's also the heir of the SU corporation which exported high quality dresses across Asia and other parts of the world. Aside from exporting high quality dresses they also have another line of business.

Every young man from rich families is willing to do everything just to catch her attention.

"Hey, Bella!" Vivian gets up from her seat excitedly and embraced Bella.

"Why do you look so lonely on your special day and where's Daniel?" She asked.

Vivian took a deep breath, "I'm not lonely, I'm just tried seeing their fake smiles!" Vivian pointed a young lady with her mouth pouted. "Daniel should be on his way, I don't know what is keeping him." She added.

"Hehe." Bella let out a short laugh "you're such a rude girl!" She rubbed her head and messed her hair.

"Hey!" Vivian lightly slapped Bella's hand. "You! You ruined my braided hair!" Vivian complained and she looked like a kid throwing tantrum.

"Hehe. Bella laughed again. C'mon, let's go to a quiet place!" She said and then she grabbed Vivian's wrist.

The two of them went to the garden. The party was held in the event room inside the mansion, so the noises are not heard in the garden.

After five minutes, Daniel driver came in the garden with a flat wide box in his hands.

Vivian gasped! "Where's Daniel and is that his gift for me?! Vivian asked the driver with a surprised expression.

"Daniel sent me to you, he said he will be with you within a short time." The driver said as he placed the box in front of her.

Vivian instantly teared up the gift wrapped and opened it.

Her eyes went wide open when she saw what's inside the box.

"Oh my God Daniel! This.... this is the "Starry Night Gown" that was designed by the famous designer Rachel! And this is the only design of this gown! Vivian exclaimed!

Then she saw a small piece of paper sticking out from the gown. With a horrible gut feeling, Vivian scanned the paper reading the words written in his handwriting.

I nearly choked when i read it. Tears were falling down my cheeks and my vision instantly became blurry.....

"Oh, Daniel you are back! Come here, take a look at this photos." Daniel mother, Mrs Grace Mason put her eye glasses down on the tea table and held a photos in her hands. She asked Daniel who had just come in to come over.

This was the nagging Daniel hears at home almost everyday. He heard detailed introduction again and could not help but shone his head and laugh.

"Mom, why are you such in an hurry to marry me off?"

"Eh, Daniel, it just happened that your father and I have found a girl we like. So we want you to consider her." Mrs Grace glared at him.

"Why are you going upstairs? Come back here and take a look of the photos of this cute girl!"

However, Daniel continued to walk upstairs.

"How long are you going to be like this? You have to find the right girl to marry. How long do your father and I supposed to wait? We really want to hold our grandchild. Do you want to wait until one of us dies before you get married."

Mrs Grace stood up and walked toward him quickly. "You are my son, do you think i don't know what you're thinking? If we don't think this girl is suitable for you. We won't introduce her to you."

Just as Mrs Grace was about to return to her sofa to sit down, she suddenly heard Daniel voice from upstairs. "I'm free Sunday , you can arrange for me to meet her."

She immediately beamed happily and called out to Daniel who was already walking towards his room. "Good boy! Mom will arrange the meeting soon.

Hearing his mother's cheerful voice, Daniel shook his head with a smile on his face . He pulled out his cellphone and looked at the email he had received. He then went straight to Facebook

I got home after the interview, everything that happened came flooding back,"what an unlucky day," i fell asleep thinking about what happened.

I woke up 12:30pm and checked my Facebook account and there where friend requests.

One that caught my attention was Daniel's name.

Daniel sent you a friend request.

Confirm. Delete.

Of course, I clicked delete, but before i closed the app
