She's My Problem

"I'm so sorry!" I gasped when I saw my chocolate milk spilled on Ben's project. I looked at him completely shock. I wasn't looking at him when I'm walking. He looked at his project in horror and then he slowly turned to me.

I can't believe this, I just made my crush hate me for my clumsiness. I've been crushing on Ben since forever. He's extremely dreamy and cute. When I first laid my eyes on him, it was like a scene from a movie. Everything went blur and all I see was him. I mean I like him and he is the most popular guy at school.

He's good looking, plays piano and he sings too. God was in a good mood when He created Ben. Too bad, in his eyes, I'm just an ordinary girl. I'm not a nerd, not a bitch, just an ordinary girl.

I can't believe I just made my highschool life miserable. I only have 2 months left before highschool ends, yet I made my crush hate me instead having him like me.

I mean I'm going to Paris in 2 months so I guess Ben won't hate me for too long right?

"I'm sorry." I said it again.

He looked at his project and it's ruined. It's an essay about history and we have to write it for 10 pages. I already done it and collected it but now I'm ruining Ben's.

He threw the paper on the floor and looked at me with hatred in his eyes. Great, he hates me. He really hates me. I took his project from the floor and saved it before it gets worse. I opened the book and it's not all ruin. It's just the front page that got stain on it. Now I have to go to Ms. Row to beg her forgiveness.

I ran to the office to find her.

"What's the problem Lauren?" She asked when she saw panic all over my face.

"Uhmm.. Ms. Row, I'm sorry." I said looking at her nervously.

"What? What did you do? Didn't you already collect your project?"

"Yes but.. I'm.. I accidentally bumped into Ben and I spilled my chocolate milk on his essay. Here!" I said as I gave him his essay with spilled chocolate milk. She opened it one by one and sighed.

"It's only the first and second page that has stain on it." I added and she looked at me rolling her eyes.

"Can I re-write his essay? He did it and I ruined it so.. please allow me to do so.." I begged and she nodded.

"Fine. Re-write it and give it to me tomorrow morning. I'm giving this chance to because you're a good student and you want to be responsible for what you did." She smiled and I nodded.

"Thank you so much!"

"Okay, you can go now." She said and I walked out from the teacher's office. I walked back to class and put Ben's project in my bag. I made a note to Ben apologizing again and explained the situation. I just hope he forgive me.

"Where were you?!" Tania asked as she waked towards me.

"I'm doomed."

"What? What's wrong?" Tania looked at me panic.

"Hey girls." Nancy joined.

"Lauren got into trouble." Tania said and Nancy snapped her head to me.

"What happened?" Nancy looked at me seriously.

"I spill my chocolate milk to Ben's project." I said and they looked at me disbelief.

"Damn."

"You're in so much trouble.."

"I know."

"So what are going to do?" Nancy asked as I took out his project. They looked at it in horror.

"I asked Ms.Row for a chance and she gave me. All I need to do is rewrite it."

"Rewrite? Girl!" Tania looked at me in horror.

"I have to, I did this to him."

"I know but- goodluck." Even Nancy got speechless.

"Will you two help me?" I asked

"No."

"What kind of bestfriend are you two?" I hissed.

"Sorry but I can't feel my hands now. I can't work double." Nancy said.

"Me too! Sorry!" Tania said and I sighed. They might be my best friend but they're evil sometimes.

"Please."

"No."

"Goodluck." Nancy said.

"You better work harder this time, your crush just hate you for ruining his project." Tania said and she doesn't need to remind me about it.

5 years later..

"Nancy!" I hugged her as I found her holding a card with my name on it. I miss LA and I'm glad that I'm back for good. After graduating from Paris, I miss home. I never came home after 5 years and I miss everyone.

I miss my family, I miss my bestfriends and I just miss California.

"I miss you so so much!" I hugged her so tight.

"Oh my gosh, I can't breath." She said and I chuckled. I pulled away and she looked at me from head to toe.

"Girl, you lose a lot of weight!" She said and I chuckled.

"The walking and the stress made me lose my appetite." I said and she chuckled.

"How's life?" I asked. We rarely catch up with each other because we always busy with college but our friendship never stops there. We always stay strong and always keep in contact.

"Life has been so fun that I'm engaged." She showed me the ring and I squealed. I'm so happy for her! She's been dating her brother's best friend, Will. He's a doctor and he's 5 years older.

"I'm so happy for you! How did he propose and when?" I asked.

"A week ago! He made me go to his apartment and he already prepared it with a lot of roses. It's like a dream come true!" She squealed and I'm so happy for her.

"That's so cute!"

"I hope you will find your own soon, Lauren." She said and I nodded. We walked to her car and go straight to Tania's house. She's already prepare food for us. We got into the car and drove out from the airport.

"How's life there?" Nancy asked.

"Quite fun but I don't want to live there. I miss home." I said as I looked out the window.

"Still dating that guy?" She asked. I dated a cute guy name Jason in Paris. He's nice and really romantic but we broke up a few months ago. We met in Paris through mutual friends. He moved to Mexico and the relationship just didn't work out.

"We're completely done."

As we arrived at Tania's house, I pressed the bell. She walked out and hugged me real tight.

"I miss you so much! You don't know how much!" She said and I chuckled.

"Same, I miss you too!" We all back together at last. She pulled me into her house.

"Hey Lauren!" Tammy, Tania sister, greeted me.

"Hey! OMG, are you pregnant?" I asked looking at her small bump.

"Yes! 3 months.." She chuckled and I hugged her.

"Congratulations!" I said, "I know you will be a great mother. I'm sorry for missing your wedding last year." I pouted.

"It's fine and I completely understand." She smiled.

"Tania, I can smell it. Smell of success.." I said after smelling her cooking. Tania laughed and Nancy sat down on the dining table.

"Now, sit down all of you." Tania said and I sat down to see a lot of food on the table. I love having a chef as my friend. I miss my friend and my family but too bad my family is currently in San Fransisco. I'll see them soon.

"We have a reunion." Nancy said and Tania nodded. I looked at them both confused.

"Reunion?" I asked and they both nodded.

"With our highschool friends, we're planning to stay in Hawaii for a week. This is so exciting!" Tania squealed.

"You both can go."

"You're going to!" Nancy hissed.

"No, why should I?"

"No excuses!" Tania said shaking her head.

"Lauren, highschool reunion will be fun! You should go." Tammy said.

"But.."

"No buts! We are going there!" Tania smiled and I sighed nodding.

"You're going to see Ben again by the way and some hot guys." Nancy smirked and wiggled her eyebrows.

"Ben?" I mumbled and I remembered the last time I saw him was graduation. He was glaring at me with hatred.

"Yes, your crush."

"Hey!" I glared at Nancy.

"So any boyfriend in Paris?" Tammy asked.

"We broke up a few months back."

"Was he cute?" Tammy smirked.

"Yes, he was but you have a husband so.." I said and Tammy laughed.

"I'm telling Rick." Tania threatened.

"I don't mind, I love when he's jealous."

"Weirdo!"

"Why didn't it work out?" Tammy asked curiously.

"Long distance and we're kinda tired with each other so.."

"Sorry."

"It's okay."

"We'll find cute guys for you at our reunion or maybe you can go back having a crush on Ben." Nancy teased and I shook my head.

"I'm not interested in dating now."

"Come on! Where the fun is that?" Nancy protested.

"We're going to Hawaii next week and this time will be different." Tania said looking straight at me.

"I don't think so-"

"Why? Are you afraid facing Ben? Girl, you're beautiful. He will fall for you instantly."

"Nancy.. I'm not interested."

"Lauren, you will never know when a cupid throw his arrows. You better prepare yourself!" Tammy said and she's completely excited for me.

"We booked the flight together?" I asked them.

"Yeah."

"Like all of us? Together? Like together together?" I asked again not believing it.

"Yes."

Today, I'm so excited but at the same time, I'm pretty nervous. Nervous to see Ben again to be exact. I don't think he will remember me though. I went to the toilet to check myself. I looked at the mirror and gave myself a nod. I walked out from the toilet.

"Come on!" Nancy said and we walked inside the airport and have to wait for 2 more hours before we board the plane.

"There they are!" Tania said as he pointed at the small group of people. We walked towards them and I looked at my friends. Most of them changed, they all looked more mature. They greeted us and I tried to make small talks. I don't see Ben anywhere and I hoped he doesn't show up.

"Do you have a boyfriend now?" Sam asked. He was our basketball captain and he's cute.

"No." I said and he smiled. Sam is a really nice guy and he helped me at lab class.

"Good to hear it."

"Still play basketball?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, still playing but with a bunch highschool kids, sometimes with my college friends if they're not busy." He answered.

"Nice to hear that you still play, you have talent."

Suddenly I heard someone mention Ben's name and I ignored it.

"Have I told you that you look beautiful?" Sam said and I smiled.

"Thanks, you look-"

"Lauren Coleman!" Someone caled me and I turned around to see who but Ben caught me off guard. He pulled me into his embrace in front of everyone.

Did I mention everyone? Did I mention too that I hate attention? Since when we're on this.. level? Last time I remembered, he hates me.

I was shocked to see Ben acting like we were best friends. I saw Tania lookng at me completely confused and I sent help but she was too busy looking answer.

"Hi?" I said as I pulled away.

"Long time no see." He said giving me his best smile.

Long time no see? Now, everyone has their attention on us. I don't like it a bit. I pushed him away.

"Yeah." I just said without looking at him. Everyone was whispering something and I bet it's about my relationship with him. I looked at Ben and he's wearing a black hoodie with black sweatpants and a sunglasses which hide his eyes from me.

I walked away from him because I don't like this situation. I bet my bestfriends are as confused as me.

"What was that?!" Tania asked.

"Don't ask me! I don't know! I don't even know if he knows my name.. let alone him noticing me breath the same air as me." I freaked out.

"Okay, calm down." Nancy joined.

"That's the weirdest thing.." Tania said and I sighed.

"What is he up to?" I looked at him suspiciously but he was busy talking to other friends.

"Maybe he likes you?" I turned to Nancy disbelief.

"That's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever heard. Last time I checked, he hates me because I ruined his project."

"But you already re-write it and you told him about it right?" Nancy asked.

"Yes but when we're graduating, he still gave me his cold glare."

"Maybe he likes you, maybe he can't resist you now." Tania said and I shook my head.

"I sense something weird and I know he's up to something."

"Stop the negative thoughts, he's not that type of guy." Nancy said and I shook my head.

"He is! He hates me and now he's acting so weird." I can't believe my friends are trying to be nice.

"Let's check in our luggages first." Someone said and we all walked towards our check in section. Everyone walked first and I followed them from behind.

"Faster Lauren, why are you so slow?" Ben said and everyone turned their heads to me. I sighed and I looked at Ben coldly.

"Here let me help you." Sam said as he walked to me.

"No, it's okay! I'm good.." I smiled and rejected him politely.

"It's fine, Lauren." He said and that's when I noticed his deep dimple on his right cheek.

"It's quite heavy though."

"I know and it's okay." He grabbed my luggage and I can see my bestfriends grinning on the side.

Ben Harrison

"Faster Lauren, why are you so slow?" I said as I saw her struggling with her luggage. I wanted to make her uncomfortable and annoyed with me. She deserved to be treated like that for what she did in the past.

When I hugged her, she pushed me away pretty quick. She hates attention and I can see it through her eyes. I bet she knows something was up. Everyone started to look at her after I called her out. I laughed at her and she glared at me.

Suddenly Sam walked to her and offered to help. He was smiling to her and they seemed to argue about something. I saw her smiling at him and I can see her eyes light up. I scowled hating what I saw.

I need to make her feel annoyed and uncomfortable so she will get out of my sight. I hate her guts, pretend to be innocent when she's far from that.

Lauren Coleman, you should have not come. I'll give you hell.
