"So you never loved me!" she raised her voice, still on the verge of crying.

He looked down. Getting no reply from him, she stood up. "I think this is the end"

"No... look, Hailey--"

"I have looked enough, I have seen enough and I have heard enough" she calmed down as she felt all the urge, all the stamina draining. "I really had enough"

He sighed. "Look, you still--"

"I said I looked enough!" She raised her voice and he heard sobs from her side. He looked at her as she hid her tears with her hand, and tried hard not to break down. "Just leave" her voice broke.

Seeing her condition he stood up. "It is your decision--"

"Now don't do what everyone does! Don't break me and make me feel like it is my fault!"

He looked at her and then at the floor. He didn't know what to say, he didn't wanna hurt her more. "So what do you want?"

"Just... leave"

"But... I don't wanna..."

"Is it my fault that you don't wanna! Just leave!"

He sighed. "Okay..."

And then she looked at him, walking towards the door at the slowest speed possible. His footsteps made a numb sound, the shattered breath of both of them was audible, and the tears complimented the sobs that escaped their mouth. They were broken.

She heard the footsteps fading, followed by the closing of the door. She knew it. It could be the end or could be the start. It was in her hands, and only hers.

Robert

I was sitting outside of her room. I was completely distressed and didn't know what to do. I was getting excited, but at the same time scared.

I was waiting for some good news, but it was much time and my heart was swelling up. I needed to hear those words now, it has been so much time.

I got up and took a round of the hospital and came back to my place. It has been one year since our marriage and I was happy, I am happy and I will be happy till she is with me. But right now, I am so stressed out that everything seems to be completely blurry.

I have to find a way out. I know that after this may be a big heap of happiness awaits but right now, this time is too difficult. The worst part? I can't be with her; she can't be with me.

I waited for the doctor to come out. Finally, a nurse stepped out but seeing her face, I knew something wasn't right. That moment, my heart broke because even before she could say anything, I interpreted everything that would have happened.

No... her pain, her everything, it shouldn't have ended without any fruits. It shouldn't have gone in vain!

"Tell me what your face is saying, is wrong," I said to the nurse.

She looked down. "We are sorry, Mr. Robert... but there is something you should know"

"Yes?"

"It seems like she took, or given, in any circumstances, abortion pills"

"What?"

She sighed. "We can't say anything, but she needs you right now, she is having a mental breakdown. She doesn't seem to have taken them herself"

I nodded slowly and went inside. I went to her and sat beside her. She was crying badly.

We were finally gonna get our first child... but... I don't know what happened. Everything was perfect! She was gonna give birth to it soon! But what happened?...

I didn't have time to worry about it right now, because Hailey was completely breaking down. I wanted her to know it was okay, but she was crying badly. She was going through so much pain and it all resulted in nothing at all!

"Hailey... it is okay..." I whispered to her and took her hand. "It is fine. It is gonna be fine"

She cried more. "How! How is it gonna be fine Rob!!" she sobbed. "This is so wrong! What did I do to deserve this! I have been waiting for it for almost nine months and now!!"

I wiped her tears. "first, calm down" I caressed her forehead. "See you are having a fever. Calm down"

She wiped the rest of her tears. "R-Rob, I don't know! I am so scared... I am so tired... I am so sad..."

"Don't be scared, Hailey" I took her hand. "I am gonna find out who did it, soon, okay?"

She sobbed and nodded. "But... now what... Robert... you were so excited for this..."

"I know. And I know that you were more excited, Hailey... but we can't do anything about it... so don't think much, okay?"

She sobbed and nodded. "Okay"

"Now, just have rest, and we will go back home soon"

She nodded again. I sat by her side.

In the last year, if we see from a perspective, nothing has changed but in reality, all has changed. We are closer than ever... she loves me, I love her... and we started living like the happiest couple.

She has proved that she is the best wife and well, it took time, but I tried to be the best husband too. I left the Mafia then and there when she had asked me to, so I haven't contacted any Mafia leader, or minor, since then.

I have been living with her and being the CEO tried my level best to ensure that I spend time with her, give her the love she deserves and we were going pretty fine with no obstacles. We didn't have anything to worry about, and I had no enemies that would make me worried about our child too.

But who did this? Who can?

Alex has been living with her mom, well, he married someone two months back. Her name was Summer. She had gone to South Korea back then... when everything was crashing down... and well, Hailey did accept her too, so who was I to bring up the past.

I think Alex wouldn't do anything to us again because he is happy with himself and his wife. Summer has been a good girl since she married him. She behaves nicely with all of us, and it has been a great pleasure to all of us that finally, Alex settled down too, leaving everything behind.

But something was wrong. Somewhere, something was definitely off because everything didn't seem to be the way it all seems. Everything was perfect, at that moment, it felt too perfect to be real, and right now, suddenly abortion pills?

I have protected Hailey really closely in these months so I don't think that anyone can reach her. And I don't think that anyone can make her abort it either. She loved the baby more than herself.

I don't know what is happening or why. But I don't want this all to start again. We are happy, our life has been dramatic enough.

But that doesn't mean I am not ready. If there is a danger coming, then you should know. I am the same Robert, but this time, I won't be against Hailey but will do anything and everything to save her and our future. If this is our fight, then I am ready. Hailey

I finally stopped crying after a long time. I don't know what to even think anymore.

"R-Rob" I still stuttered while I tried to speak.

"yeah, Hailey?" he asked.

"When will I be able to go home?"

"I will ask them. Maybe two days"

"Okay..."

"I will be here, don't worry" he smiled at me. "Okay?"

"Yeah. my perfect husband"

He smiled again. "yes, my perfect wife"

We smiled for a few moments. He can only make me smile even in these worst moments. I am so blessed to have him.

"Has Alex contacted you?" I asked him. Alex has been supportive of our child from the start, but strangely he wasn't here today.

"Nope. Summer did; she said that he is sorry that he is busy and he can't come"

I sighed. "Ah, I will kill him. You are even busier than him! You are the CEO of the biggest company! And still, you are here, aren't you!"

He smiled. "Oh okay calm down, baby, it is alright"

I sighed. "Well! I am tired!"

"Then sleep"

"Really?"

"Why not?"

"I wanna talk to you"

"We will talk later"

"Really?"

"Hailey!" he laughed. "Yes"

"Okay," I smiled back. "Stay by my side for at least ten minutes and then you can go"

"Okay"

I smiled and closed my eyes. I feel safe whenever he is around.

Robert

I was sitting beside her and watched her close her eyes. She looks so beautiful when she sleeps. I mean, she looks beautiful when she is awake too, but even cuter when she is asleep.

I watched her and she slowly drifted to sleep. I have noticed that she is so used to having me by her side that she doesn't sleep if I am not here.

And if I am here, she would sleep no matter the conditions.

I took out my phone and decided to address the matter to the Police: I am not the Mafia anymore, I would not get involved in all that ever again.

I told the police everything and then they asked me to ask these questions to Hailey because she should know if someone who gives her something to drink or eat, could mix the abortion pills.

I told them I was the only one who ever gave her anything to eat and drink and I told her that no one else should do that. And I of course took all the measures and all the safety precautions!

"So, I hope you can ask her and inform--"

"Yeah sure," I ended the call. Well, do they really think I am gonna do this shit? When I know that she didn't take anything from anyone? She knows how dangerous it could be because I am an ex-Mafia. She wouldn't be so careless.

I stood up and went out.

"When will she be discharged?" I asked the doctor.

"Possibly, tomorrow, if all reports are normal"

"Okay"

I went out.

Cassie

I was in Nicholson's house. A lot has changed in the last year. Oh yeah, I still do call him Nick sometimes, but he tells me to call him Alex. Well, you can't change someone's habit!

I came to know that Nick also had another sister. I was really shocked. They explained to me some of the things, which went totally above my head. I didn't know that I had a sister!

Well, the house where we lived was sold out and then I shifted with Alex and his mom. Hailey was surprised to know about me too, but that's okay because I was adopted. But I still can't believe that Alex had a sister and he never told me!

Well, it brought good because to calm me down, they promised to give me something and I asked for education in Russia and they agreed!

I will go there in almost one month. I am damn excited.

I was at my new house with Alex. Well, he married Summer two months back. I was happy for them. I knew Summer always loved him and well, I didn't know if he did that much to her, but I guess I was wrong. He wouldn't marry someone he doesn't love!

I walked out of my room and Alex was working on his computer.

"hey" I wished him and he looked at me and smiled.

"Hey Cas"

"What's up?"

"Same old business" he sighed and closed his laptop. He looked at me. "How are you?"

"I am better"

"Take care of yourself"

"It was just a fever"

"And next time, it will just be a slap"

I sighed. "Stop being so overprotective"

"Why would I?"

"Because!! It is too much"

He laughed. "You are so cute. Go and have rest, I have some work"

"Ah, you always want me to go inside!"

"I didn't say go inside. I just said have rest which means sit down"

I sighed. He is so difficult to understand!

I sat down and he opened his laptop and started working again. Summer brought the breakfast and we ate the food.

Summer makes awesome food. At least, I get such good food because of her!

We were eating the food when Alex's phone rang.

"Hello?" he picked it up.

"WHAT? WHY!?"

"Oh... I will be there soon..." the call ended.

"What happened?" Summer asked him.
