Selene Goddess of the Moon

In the year 1706 in Eastern Europe people were known to be polite and happy even if their life is not as wealthy as those of Westerners.

People's way of living is by doing mining for the men and taking care of the house chores for women

A single gemstone is worth many coins that can help a simple family have a better life.

Selena and Ambrogio, a newlywed couple that chooses to live in the 3rd section of the small village of Algura where they decided to start their family.

The past two years were a happy life for a couple especially when Selena is already pregnant.

A few months later when Selena delivered her baby, he is healthy and a very strong baby boy.

The baby grows and becomes a kid, a jolly and witty boy who always goes with Ambrogio his father when doing his mining job.

A couple never loses their hopes until Ambrogio gets even a single gem for their boy's future, so after a series of struggles and hardships, Ambrogio finds the green shiny gems that the Western called emerald.

They quickly bring the gem to the market to know how much it's worth and the shop owner presented them a seven hundred thousand worth of coins, which is more than what they expected, so then the couple exchanges the gem for the coins and then go back home bringing a piece of happy news to their son.

In the middle of the night, Ambrogio heard a footstep around their house so he picks up his axe and woke up Selena to hug their son and make sure he is safe then a loud bang at the door when the five corporal men enter their house.

"You, you need to come with us along with your wife and child, we got a complaint about the gem you sell that you stole it at the church which is originally the gem of the April"

The Corporal said that shocked Ambrogio.

"No, that is not true! The gem was found in the mine! And he digs it!"

Selena said tried defending her husband.

"We will know about that, but the three of you need to come with us for an official investigation!"

The second corporal said with authority, so the family quietly obeys the command and goes silently with the corporals.

Along the way, Ambrogio notice that the road they are taking is not heading to the corporal headquarters but to the other way, at this point Ambrogio starts to feel that something is not right and tries to find a way to escape his family from the impending danger.

He pushes away the two corporals beside him and grabs Selena's arm holding their son but the corporals manage to run over them.

"Please.... whatever you want to do with us, just do it to me, please spare my wife and my child"

Ambrogio pleaded in tears but instead of listening to his plead the 3rd corporal grabbed Selena's hair and pull her away from Ambrogio and her son.

A not-so-distance apart, Selena is now lying on the ground while the 3rd corporal starts disgracing her, easily taking off her clothes and covers.

Ambrogio can't do something to help Selena since there is a gun pointing at their son's head, the other corporal kick and punch him in front of his child and his wife who has been raped by the other two corporals cannot any more move her body.

After a few minutes, Ambrogio who is lying on the ground with blood on his face can barely move, Selena despite feeling weak and exhausted as the four corporals disgraced her throughout the time, she managed to crawl back to Ambrogio and to his son that is continuously crying.

They believe that the corporals will let them go after what they did and already feel satisfied by raping her, but she was shocked when in front of her eyes the loud sound of the gun surrounds the whole place.

Her husband and child were gunshot by the 4th corporal that takes their life in just a minute.

Selena cannot contain her tears and even though it is hard for her to move she hurriedly ran towards her son and husband who are currently lying on the ground lifeless.

"aaaahhhhhh.....my baby......Ambrogio!!!!......aaahhhhh"

Selena shouted in tears while hugging them.

Since it was dawn, the 2nd corporal immediately shot Selena in her back, making her unconscious and seemingly dead.

Then the corporal leaves them behind.

With the ray of the sun touching her face, Selena manages to open her eyes and found herself inside the cave, she still not feeling well but tries to move and find her son and husband and then heard a voice of an old lady sitting beside her.

"Better have a little more rest, my child"

The old Lady said looking merciful at her.

"Hmmm... w-where is my family?"

Selena said in her very weak voice looking straight at the old lady but she just holds her hand to express her condolences.

Selena understands the gesture and starts to cry hard, she cries and cries the whole day and the old lady never leaves her side.

The days pass and Selena's condition gets even better, the old lady brings her to the other side of the cave where Ambrogio and her son were buried, and tears fall from her eyes while kneeling on the ground in front of her family's grave.

After spending a few hours at her family's grave the old lady invites her inside the cave to have a small talk.

"So what are you planning to do now child?"

The old lady asks but Selena is just sitting silently staring at one corner, she doesn't want to listen and talk so the old lady asks her again with another question.

"Do you want revenge?"

The old lady asks and this time it caught Selena's attention.

"How?"

Selena asks and the old lady gives a meaningful stare at her before she speaks.

"This world is full of mystery my child, there are things that are way unexplainable within our minds, but it is up to you what would you prefer to do, at the second mountain from here there is a narrow cave where you can find the blood of the cursed"

The old Lady explains.

"I heard about that, but is it real or just a mere legend that my mother used to tell us for a nighttime story"

Selena said but the old lady just smiled at her and starts to speak again.

"Your mother must be so special, no wonder you are special too, the blood of the cursed is not a myth, nor a legend, it is real, but every power has an equivalent to the person who will drink it, it will either cause chaos to your life or make a better life out of your misery, but one thing is for sure every power we take has something in return so are you ready to pay for it?"

The old lady asks her but Selena is determined to take a step to avenge her family, she will take lives if it is needed.

She did not answer the old Lady but she knows that her determination reflects the gesture of her eyes so the old lady understands it.

Selena travelled five days just to get to the second mountain; the cave is so narrow that you need to lower your head to get in.

After she successfully enters the cave she found a little altar with a golden cup, she knew that it is already the blood she is looking for.

Before she drinks the cup, the old Lady suddenly appears in front of her which seriously shocks her.

"I hope you are doing the right thing, my child, revenge cannot bring them back, and it will only cause so much more pain to you"

The old lady said trying to remind her of the consequence.

"I don't care I like this pain I will live with it and die with it, nothing will stop me"

Selena's statement makes the old Lady disappear into thin air.

After drinking all the blood, her body starts shaking and then moves up and down throwing herself around the cave, she shouts in pain due to the heat that she felt which flows through her vein and to her system then suddenly, she passed out.

It has been one day passed when Selena woke up, she felt weird within her and notice that the color of her skin becomes pale but much brighter than before, her face becomes more stunning and her hair is much softer and silkier, she start walking and climbing up to get out of the cave but was stop when she gets burned after a series of sunlight touches her skin, she is now asking herself what is going on but later then realized that maybe it is the result of drinking the cursed blood, so she decided to stay for a while inside the cave.

When the sun goes down, Selena felt the need to eat so she try to find something she can eat like fruits and bread, she manage to go back to their house despite the memories it has, she try to eat the bread but it didn't taste good for her and as well as the fruits, they are all dull in taste for Selena, then suddenly, she smells something very nice, the smell is coming towards her house and then heard a familiar voice that made her hand formed a fist.

"We need to get back a thousand coins they get, it should be inside the house, and we cannot fail!"

The familiar voice said and Selena's body starts shaking in anger as she knew who they are so when the two men enter the house, they were stunned to see a beautiful woman standing in front of them, they never even recognized Selena her appearance changed from her normal look.

The two men are the two corporals who killed her family so Selena finds a way to grab the neck of one of the corporals, she was amused by the strength she has, she can now even lift him in one hand just by holding him on his neck and when the other corporal was about to attack, Selena grabs him as well and lift him together with the other.

Staring at them filled with anger in her eyes, she can no longer control a sudden emotion inside her until she felt her gums pushing out two fangs while staring at the neck of the two corporals, she can smell their blood and it is addicting, she felt a need to drink it.

Like a hungry animal, Selena sucks all the blood from the two corporals until it kills them, they become dry with only bones and skin left.

After a few minutes, reality hits her, and she begins to realize what she has done, she is no longer different than an animal or even worst, a monster, so Selena begins to cry.

It takes an hour before she gained her composure and she decided to embrace the monster she became.

Then days turn to weeks, and Selena begins to track down the other corporals but they are a bit hard to find, so along the way, for her to live she manages to drink the blood of the people she encounters, those people whom she thinks deserve to die.

It takes several months before Selena masters her ability, she also realized that she is already immortal and that even hundred guns shoot her, her body can heal naturally, she also gains some wealth and now living a different life, she left the east and live in the west where all the luxury can be found.

Selena tries her best to be able to blend in with the high society people attending the elite member's meeting and there she found the two remaining corporals.

Out of anger, she did not hesitate to suddenly attack the 4th corporal in front of the people, she suck all his blood until he can no longer breathe, the crowd was stunned and was afraid of her, but little did she notice that the curtain behind her has been accidentally pulled down and the sun immediately strikes her skin, then the people start opening all the windows and Selena start shouting in pain, her skin is melting like a candle and before she explodes, the old lady appears in front of her then hug her tight.

When she is about to escape Selena a loud gunshot surrounds and the old lady's back has a shot that makes her fall to the floor.

Selena grabs the old lady trying to lift her out of the hall but she is very weak to make another move at the same speed she has due to the damage she gets from the sun.

"Hey, please old lady, don't die on me please"

Selena pleaded in tears.

"My child, I tried to make up for my sin by at least saving you, please have a life after this, drink my blood and become me, be the goddess of the Moon, and live your life, a little of my blood can make you a half-human who can live again in the daylight like what normal people do, find the dark book where all the information is written down there, the day will come the blood of goddess of the sun will be born, it will turn you back to human, find it, promised me, find it"

The last words are said by the old lady before she turns into ashes.

Selena gained her strength after biting and drinking the old lady's blood and standing again in front of all the elites with the open windows, she knew that something inside her changed and that change makes her stronger than before, her speed is undeniably amusing and her eyes turn into red when she is turning and silver for normal days, she can now have the control of her fangs, and that moment on, she manages to kill every elite that is inside the hall.

After the horrific incident, Selena suddenly disappears and all she is left in the eyes and memory of the people she helped over the people she killed is a sad story of a mother and a wife who becomes the goddess of the moon with cursed blood.

IN THE YEAR 1800 FRANCE

Selena finds her way to live peacefully with the humans, it's been almost one century had passed and she still looks the same, the 30-year-old face was the one thing that remains from her past.

After the incident of the elite member massacre case which the people used to call it, Selena flew out of the country and live her life in a simple village in France.

This time she became one of the great professors/doctors who have ever lived.

She manages to create lots of cures for certain illnesses that endangered all the people in the village.

Despite embracing her new life, Selena never stops looking for the person that the old lady told her about, the person with the blood of the goddess of the sun.

For the past century, she fails to find it, but she believes that it was not yet in this era and she will wait until this person will be born.

Selena receives different offers and suitors but she never had any feelings for anyone, as for her, the time when her family died is the time that her heart comes after.

Her wealth begins to the uproar as she has a lot of businesses and owned lands in different areas and countries.

Being famous in her field she was recognized as the woman of the year and begin to receive awards.

Although achievements and wealth are just beneath her, she still mourns over and over again the death of her husband and child.

On the other hand, Selena continues killing all the people who get in her way, the people who are dirt on society, those people who oppressed others and people who kill for money.

Since Selena became half-human again, she pleasures herself with a lot of coitus, doing one-night pleasure to any person she wants since she was able to control the person if she wants to.

It is becoming a habit since she already accepts the fact that she can no longer conceive she manages to do it anytime she wants to any man she likes, for those who get emotionally attached; she uses her ability to erase their memory.

Agustin asks giving her a seductive look.

Selena said while returning the seductive look of the guy in front of her.

Agustin said while kissing Selena's hand.

Another response from Selena while drinking her wine and Agustin just smiled at her and invite her to dance but Selena offers more.

She holds Agustin's hand and sweetly mouthed him to follow her.

Then Agustin takes a step following where Selena goes, at the end of the hall there is a hidden exit door where Selena enters.

Although it creeps him out, he manages to see where Selena goes, a dark small room with elegant tables and chairs, a pair of golden candles and a red silk-covered king-size bed.

Agustin swallow his throat and stepped toward Selena who is now lying on the bed when Agustin is near the edge of it he was surprised when Selena grab his hand and place him on the bed while Selene is pressing her body to him, Selena is now on top of him.

Agustin suddenly felt cold when Selena caress his jaw down to his neck.

Now Selena is holding Agustin's neck, at first, he feels fine with it but as the minutes go by it is getting tighter until he can now barely breathe.

He is shocked to see Selena's eyes turn red and her fangs begin to appear, he wants to shout but he can barely move since Selena is way stronger than him.

"You, you are the one who spread those illnesses to those women you have sex with"

Selena said in a very serious tone.

Agustin is so scared that he can't even start to talk but Selena loosened the grip of her hand from choking his neck.

"Ah....ahm....I-I'm sick...it was their fault....those women in my family keep making me do what they want, they sold me to a different woman, most of them are the old ones, but they don't even know that I don't like it! It is disgusting! Inside me is shouting hard, yelling that I can't do it with a woman that I am different but they never listen until I got this illness and so I want my revenge, so just kill me now, I don't mind anymore"

Agustin said in tears looking straight into her eyes, Selena take off her hand to free him, she felt his grudge and hate that she has in her heart as well.

"You are going to die anytime soon, how about I am offering you a deal, will you listen?"

Selena said that is now sitting on the couch in cross arms and legs.

"Ahem...I am listening"

Agustin said while wiping his tears then Selena just give him a sweet smile.

Midnight at the MANSION OF MADAM MITRA

"Hahaha! I have all the men you like but of course, it comes with a good price Santana"

"Fair enough Mitra here, now give me my man!"

Santana said after giving the money.

"Good! Now follow me and I will give you-"

"-baaagg!!!!!!"

A loud sound of a broken door falls to the ground.

"Ahhh!!! Ahhh!!! Help!!!"

People are now screaming when they saw Agustin who broke the thick large door of Mitra's Mansion.

"You insolent and rubbish child! What do you think you are doing?"

Mitra said in her very loud voice.

"It's simple Mitra, I am here...to...eat you alive!!!"

Agustin said with a wide smile on his face and before Mitra could respond, Agustin is already at her back and then quickly bites her neck.

Everyone was shocked by what he did to Mitra, people inside the mansion takes every way they can to escape and get out but suddenly Selena appeared in front of them and all the windows and doors are now closed.

The two powerful being indulged themselves in their mouth-watering feast for dinner.

THE YEAR 2010 PHILIPPINES

In the middle of the night of July 8, 2010, you will hear the whine and moan of the people suffering in pain inside the big laboratory that was hidden in the middle of the forest.

This laboratory was conducting human dissecting research, where they cut each and every piece of the person's veins, arteries and organs alive.

"Sen, five civilians are inside the lab, you only have 10 minutes to get them"

The assistant said.

"That is just enough Gust; prepare the car at the exact time"

Sen said.

She fixes her hood and then quickly enters the laboratory, by the guidance of her assistant, she manages to get in at the exact location where the five civilian stays.

"Sen, what is the status now?"

Gust asks.

"Those fucking bastard who made these people their guinea pig"

Sen said in her strong and anguish voice then she manage to get out of the civilians and make them safe, having the rage of anger and madness inside her, she killed all the security and those people who manage the laboratory until she found the doctor's office who conducts the horrible activity to the innocent victim, then she walks towards the office and saw the doctors she has been looking for, hiding below the chairs and tables, Sen walks slowly towards them.

You can only hear the sound of her boots, a creepy sound that you hear when a killer is only a step away to kill you.

Sen already notices the hem of the doctor's coat that is hiding on their tables so she starts sitting above it on cross legs.

"Doctors are the person who keeps people alive, do you all agree?"

Sen said while sitting relaxed at the table but no one tries to say something so she starts talking again.

"I am not a fan of waiting for doctors...how rude to make a woman wait who only wants to talk..."

Sen said in her seductive voice then slowly the three doctors came out from under the table where they hide.

When they saw the woman who is sitting pretty while facing them, they couldn't believe their eyes how beautiful the woman is.

"You are so young to threaten us, young lady!"

The first doctor said and he was about to continue what he is saying when Sen is already standing in front of him, his jaw almost drop seeing how fast she moves.

"Do you know what I really hate most Doc? Is when someone is calling me a lady!!!!"

Sen said while playing with his necktie until she grabs his head and crashed it with her bare hand which shocked the remaining two doctors, the second doctor almost pees his pants and the third cannot move an inch out of fear.

"One down, two to go! Hahaha! Well, how about we play a game doc because this is really getting boring, how about hiding and seek?"

Sen said wearing a sarcastic smile while looking at the two doctors their faces lightened up with the idea of the game after hearing her suggestion, they want to take the opportunity to hide or escape.

"I-I guess that is...that is a great idea!"

The second doctor said trying to control his fear.

"Okay, I am going to count to three and then hide until you can!"

Sen said then the two doctors quickly run for their lives.

"One...two...three! I am coming... coming doctors!"

Sen said acting like an insane predator.

The doctors are shaking while trying to find their spot to hide; they were wondering who is this evil woman with unbelievable strength and ability.

The third doctor hides near the employee's closet where all their things are placed it was more than two sections away from their office.

The same goes for the second doctor who hides in the cellar since he feels safe there than hiding in any corner of the laboratory.

Sen move fast from section to section and enjoyed the game she started.

Walking in the hallway of the lab, Sen already smelled where the mouse is hiding and at the exact spot of the CCTV camera, Sen broke the ceiling and pulled out the second doctor who is so shocked.

"P-Please, please don't kill me, I was just forced to work here, I-I really don't like doing it, that is the truth"

The second doctor pleaded for his life.

"Uh-huh sure, but... the truth is...this is my favorite, killing some rat who pleads and to tell you what...mercy and pity words just died on me thousand years ago!"

Sen said then grab the doctor's head while facing her and with her stiffed and stretched arm, she crashed the doctor's head and the brain and all the organs inside are now scattered around the floor.

Now the third doctor is the last one on the list, he knows that the second doctor is already dead after listening to the earphone that was connected to them; he almost peed on his pants while his body is shaking in fear of hearing what Sen did to the second doctor.

Now Sen is entering the employee's closets.

"Yoo hoo...doctor...where are you...hahaha...know what doc, I want your opinion about this...I have this fascination about something and I loved doing it, they said it is not a good thing to do...but...ahhhh...hmmm...I am loving it doc...so, do you think I'm insane? Hahaha"

Sen said trying to tease the doctor where ever he is and she continue talking until reached where the third doctor is.

"Don't you want to come out doc? Come on... let us have a chit chat...oh...you're boring...!

How about...a little game...called...PICK A BOO...!!!"

Sen said then suddenly appears in front of the closet where the doctor is and pulled him out.

"Y-You're a crazy bitch...you are not a human!"

The doctor said in fear trying to let go of Sen's grip.

"Oh...I am not a crazy bitch...I'm insane...MONSTER!!!"

Sen said appearing in front of the doctor's face with glowing red eyes and pairs of fangs, Sen sucked every little amount of blood in the doctor's body until he was just bone and skin left.

"Crazy asshole"

Sen said while wiping her lips, and then a smile formed on her face seeing what she's been looking for, the files she needed.

"Sen, all the civilians are already free, I have erased all their memories about what happened to them but where are you now?"

Gust asks into his earphone.

"Well...I am here at the place where no one can find...."

Sen said then turn off her earphone connected to Gust.

THE YEAR 2016 PHILIPPINES

MARTHA'S POV

"Thank you all for coming, thank you!"

I said with a smile, a lot of visitors came when it was not even my 18th birthday since I am already 23; everyone is always present whenever my mom and dad send an invitation.

"Hi, Marty! Happy Birthday!"

Megan my best friend greeted me.

"Come here Martha, I'm going to introduce you to Mr Alceron"

Dad said who never stops introducing me to everyone.

So far this is the happiest birthday that I have had; it is perfect since my both parents are present this time unlike before when Dad was always busy minding his work in his laboratory which is located in Paris.

The party is almost done when a woman with a formal pencil-cut dress enters the house, along with four masculine men.

I noticed Dad's reaction upon seeing the woman and I am sure it is not a good reaction at all!

"Dad...who is she?"

I ask him while sweats all over his face.

"Hi there Professor Alfaro, remember me?"

The woman said with a devilish smile.

"Ahm...who are you? I'm pretty sure you are not invited to my party"

I said in cross arms facing her.

"Oh hello there, you must be Martha, look at you, you've grown very pretty, and by the way, I am just seven years ahead of you so you don't need to be so formal dear,"

She said wearing those smiles that I started to hate!

"Hey Sweetie, you can go with your mom to your room, I just need to talk to them about work..."

Dad interrupted us and asks Mom to bring me to my room while my eyes remain staring at her.

The moment we get to my room, Mom holds my hand and we both agree on what Dad said and stay in my room for a while.

"Mom, what's going on, who is that woman?"

I ask upon entering my room but Mom seems hesitant to say a thing to me so I look at her straight in her eyes trying to convince her.

"She is Natasha David, Senior Apollo David's daughter, the chairman of David Laboratory and Technology,"

Mom said while looking so bothered.

"So what does she want to dad? He seems distracted seeing that woman"

I furiously ask.

"Look Sweetie, hmmm...your dad is really great in what he does, most of the company wants to get him and be part of them though, I know David wants more than that from him"

Mom worriedly said.

"And what is that?"

I ask again holding tight her hand.

"Your dad study human life...he is currently developing this medicine that can cure all the illness even viruses in the whole world and I know he is near to fulfil it"

Mom explains, and while having a conversation with mom, our maid knocks on the door to tell us that Natasha and her men forcedly grab my Dad to go with them and so I hurriedly go outside.

" Dad!!!! You Bitch, let go of my Dad!!!"

I shout and approach Natasha but her men suddenly appeared in front of me.

"Hey, kid...if I were you I will step aside or else you will regret it!"

She said fiercely looking into my eyes that somehow shook me a little but I did not mind what she said and held my Dad's arm to pull him back a loud gunshot suddenly surrounds the whole house and everyone was frightened.

Then I saw my mom lying on the floor...she was shot in the head by Natasha, I was shaken all over my body seeing my mom showering herself with her blood.

"Mom...Mom...hmm...please don't leave me, Mom"

I pleaded in tears while hugging the dead body of my mother.

While crying hard, I saw Natasha make their way out of the house like nothing happen to bring my Dad, I run towards her and try to stop her by pulling her hair but her men stops me and forcedly put me inside the car while Dad is in another car.

Natasha sits beside me and holds my chin.

"You...starting today you will forget everything about your life and your father since you will no longer see him again, I am still nice Martha, and while I'm still am, better follow what I said, be gone, don't ever come back to this place because once we meet again I will surely end your life like what happens to your miserable Mother"

She said warning me wearing those scary eyes and away from our place, the car suddenly stops in nowhere, I don't even recognize where we are when Natasha just kicked me out of the car made me fall to the ground where I can barely move out of fear, and with all that happen suddenly I felt dizzy and passed out.

IN THE YEAR 2020 PHILIPPINES

MARTHA'S S POV

"Savage love got somebody breaks my heart...!"

My cousin named Jan-Jan always loves TikTok.

"Hey Jan, enough of that, Justin will arrive soon, you know the drill once he caught you still not preparing for breakfast!"

I shouted while silently smiling since I always enjoy seeing him doing the TikTok and then interrupting him, his reaction is priceless!

Justin and Jan are siblings, they are my cousins the sons of my mother's eldest sister, and they only have a normal life and live simply, so far aside from my other relatives only these two helped me and let me live here.

It has been 4 years since the incident, and currently, I need to help Justin with all the bills, since he still owes money from Mr Mando for that, I present myself to work there as a waitress in Mando's Bar to help him.

I also work as a promo girl or promo staff at malls in the morning starting 8:30 am until 2 pm then as a waitress in the evening until midnight, I perform two jobs a day, I can't go back to school anymore due to financial reasons.

If I were to describe my life, it is much better now that I am living with them than what I have experienced in Pampanga, here in Manila, I feel safe though I never have any more information about what happened to my father and it hurts me every single day when I think of it, I just spent my time and focus on my new life now.

"Hey Jan, I'll be going now, inform Justin that I have prepared breakfast for him and mind your voice or music since your brother needs to take a nap"

I said before going to work.

Justin is a call centre agent on the night shift so he will arrive home in the morning then take a nap and prepare himself to work in the evening.

It's kind of hard to take a commute since I don't have a car; I need to ride a public vehicle to get to my work which is hard especially when traffic is all over the place and so most of the time I am late.

I arrive at the mall with only 30 minutes left before my shift; I prepared all the stuff that I need as a promo agent.

"Hello everyone as of now we have a 50% discount on all our products, the 14 thousand worth of magic sing microphone is now down to 7 thousand so what are you waiting for grab one now with our promo discount!!!"

My everyday tagline, sometimes I do a sample on it, and I sing a different song just to catch the customer's attention.

I was about to sing when I heard my name being called by one of our supervisors and a close friend to me.

"Hey Martha, I have a favor to ask, there will be a meeting later with the bosses including all the department heads and Ms Ma-an is not here to be with me this is the first time I would join this meeting, so can you go with me later? You see I am not comfortable with these kinds of stuff I don't know if I could understand everything about the meeting, I know you have a very good comprehension, so please, save me!"

She explained and of course how can I say no to my supervisor...

After saying yes to her, she immediately goes back to her office to prepare her report for a later meeting and so I continue to sing when I return.

While singing, I suddenly remember my parents to this song, we used to sing this together, and my emotion arises as I hit the high notes, every lyric fills my head and a few tears are now forming in my right eye.

After singing the song I heard the crowd clapping and whistling, I was surprised to see that there are already crowds formed while I am singing.

One hour later, my supervisor already approaches me to come with her to the meeting which will be held at one of the big convention rooms that this mall owns, I heard that the owner suggested it.

As we enter the hall, most of the department heads are there and other employees, we manage to place ourselves at the back though we can still see the front.

The door opened and a handsome guy with a grey suit enters, I can't believe that this guy is the owner of this mall, I mean he is too young to be the owner if I will be based on his looks, I guess he is just two years older than me.

My eyes were buried on him, Gosh!! He is handsome as a CEO, I met a lot of CEO in different companies and organizations and most of them were old and worst, in a wheelchair!

The CEO starts his speech and his accent sounds like old English, British like if I will describe it and the amazing part is he also knows how to speak well the local language.

After his speech, all the department heads were introduced one by one and explained their function and drop their updated reports.

Most of the products and shops inside the mall were also owned by the CEO and only a few stores and shops are owned by private clients.

The meeting last almost two hours, and my legs starts to hurt since I remained standing at the back when my supervisor needs to blend in with the other heads.

After the meeting, I quickly prepared my stuff to go home, I can't waste time since I still have another job to do at Mando's bar which is in the evening, 2 pm is the end of my shift here at the mall, I can get home at two-thirty in the afternoon so I still have enough time to sleep before evening.

Instead of riding and going home, sometimes I take a walk save up my money and enjoy my thirty minutes of walking, I always make sure I have a snack with me and eat it until I get home.

I also enjoy watching Jan's Tik-Tok compilations on my messenger which he used to send me and seriously I love it.

Hooked up by what I am watching, I am suddenly bumped by someone that makes my cell phone drop to the ground, I am shocked to see that the screen is cracked so I try to look at whom that person is but he continues to walk.

Hmmph! I don't care if he is taller than me but I would not let him go just like that!

I ran towards him and then pulled the hood that is covering his face just to see him wearing a mask and only his bare eyes.

Looking at him, his eyes are red like ruby stone, it is indeed fascinating to look at but I am stunned when he pushes me to the wall and it hurts my back, I throw a death glare at him but he suddenly disappears.

Dang!!! My back hurts! I am pretty sure it will swell later! Tsk!

When I got home, Jan is already sleeping on the sofa, I quickly get some linen and cover him and stared at him while sleeping I kind of felt at ease as he is sleeping peacefully if only I could go back to being a child again I would do so!

Still staring at him, I noticed his hand holding a paper, I check on it and it is his tuition to be paid, suddenly I felt sad since we really have a tight budget if only I could find a better job that would sustain our everyday living.

"Mar, I prepared lunch for you so you can eat and have your rest, I will transfer Jan to my room,"

Justin said seeing me just got home.

"Yep, thank you, Justin, you can eat first before you go to work, I will just have to change my clothes"

I said then about to head into my room when Justin said something.

"Alright, by the way, Grace came here earlier and looking for you"

Justin said before preparing for his work.

I kind of wondered what she want unless she has another short job for me; well Grace always helps me get a sideline job sometimes.

After taking my lunch, I head my way to Grace's house.

"Hmmm, Grace...? Knock-Knock!"

I knock and the door opens and it's Grace.

"Hey, Mar! Good thing you come here! I have a new sideline job, come in let's discuss it"

She said and then let me in.

"Really? Gosh! I was just thinking of how I can earn extra this month for Jan's tuition"

I said as I sit on her couch.

I feel safe every time Grace would offer me a sideline job since it is usually legal and simple like the last time when I was just commanded to deliver the suitcase at a certain hotel and I was paid 5k pesos! And the other one was when I am hired as a whole-day driver of an old woman who can't anymore do the driving, she pays me 10k PHP!

"Well Mr Asthon who is the son of the millionaire Ashton Senior needs someone who can be with him and be his date at the upcoming grand auction this Saturday, the catch is, he wants a girl that can make his ex-girlfriend jealous since he wants to win her back and since I always find you gorgeous and elegant even in your simplest attire, I believe this job is an easy thing for you! His ex-girlfriend will also be present at the auction"

Grace explained though little, I felt worried for my safety; I don't want to be involved in any other people's matters.

"Wait, are you sure it is safe?"

I ask again feeling doubtful and nervous.

"Well, I am not sure but what I am sure of is, the 50 thousand pesos that he will pay, also Mr Ashton will provide you with all your needs like dresses, shoes, pieces of jewellery and I think he is a good man I mean he is so romantic by doing this, you see he just only want to win her back and that is sweet"

Grace explained that makes my eyes wide hearing the 50 thousand pesos that I will surely receive! Well, maybe Grace has a point, he should be a good man since his goal is really sweet and romantic and besides, I need this job for Justin and Jan.

"When it's going to happen then?"

I excitingly ask.

"On Saturday, you still have two days to prepare, I will inform Mr Calisto so he can inform Mr Ashton about this"

Grace said and I confirmed that I will do it.

After dealing with Grace, I head back to the house since I only have a few minutes left to at least rest for one hour of sleep before going to Mando's Bar.

I am glad that somehow Mr Mando pays me 2 thousand pesos even though Justin still owes him money.

I take a nap for one hour still thinking of the job that Grace offers me, I hope it will turn out well so I can get the payment fine!

At exactly 7 pm when I woke up, I quickly take a bath and prepare all the things I need to go to my evening job.

Jan is waiting for me on the couch since I always bring him with me whenever I go to work at the bar; no one will look after him at the house since Justin will also need to go to work.

"Hey, Mr Ren, where is Mr Mando?"

I ask Mr Ren the bartender here.

"Inside his office Mi Amore"

He said in his adorable Spanish language, Mr Ren is just 2 years younger than Mr Mando and so we all respect him as well, after that, we head our way to Mr Mando's office, me and Jan.

"Mr Mando. Can I-"

I cut myself from talking when I saw a man coming from Mr Mando's office that just went out straight but as I look at his face though it seems he tries to hide it, at some point he looks very familiar.

"Hey Mar, do you need something? Hi little Jan!"

He said and then greeted Jan

"Oh yeah, as I was saying, can you lend your couch again for Jan so that he could sleep, he still has school tomorrow, sorry for this but you see I have no choice, I can't let him alone in the house"

"You know Mar, you are always welcome here and also Jan, I know you are aware of a great friendship I have with your mother and Jan's mother, I always see her in you, how adorable you are, If only we could find the lead and mastermind of that tragic event that happens to your family at least we can still get revenge for your mom and save your dad"

He seriously said.

I can see his sincere concern for what happened to my parents, and that is why I am thankful that Mr Mando becomes my second father in so many ways.

"Hmmm, no need for that Sir, you, Jan, and Justin are the only family that I have now, I can't lose any one of you to those bad people, and I love my life now especially being with all of you"

I sincerely explain even though tears start forming in my eyes.

"Look, Martha, Almira, your Dad, and Fiona, we are all best friends and we all promised to defend and take care of each other as well as our children from any harm and since they are all gone now, I will take care of you as well as Jan and Justin"

Mr Mando said and now I can't hold it, tears fall from my eyes as I suddenly saw my Dad in him, the sincerity and love for his children.

I hugged Mr Mando and thank him for being a father to me at some point, Aunt Fiona also died a long time ago, her children are Grace and Misty, and Grace is the eldest.

The Mando's bar just opened and as usual same and new customers filled the whole area; it's always been like this every night.

Other customers are already familiar with me, and so far no one tries to take advantage of me or cause some trouble since they are all scared of Mr Mando.

It's no joke making Mr Mando an enemy, people here in our place know him well, most of them said that Mr Mando has a powerful and influential person on his side which is his previous boss, and they also believe that he works as a butler for this person ten years ago.

Still, he is getting protection from them even though he is already retired.

So far this business of him earns a lot, not just a simple people and people who used to go here but those well-known people, this bar accepts different celebrations since it has its own set of bands and singers for entertainment.

Almost five hours have passed and it's going to be the end of my shift for tonight, I wake up Jan for us to go home and Mr Mando always offers us a ride to his motorcycle going home for our safety.

As we get home, I place Jan inside Justin's room in his bed, then I managed to take a bath when I look in the mirror, I saw my back the part that hit the wall earlier, it is seriously swollen, tsk! That bastard!

I need to cure this before Saturday; I can't go there with this condition! What if I need to wear a backless dress, I can't be like this with that gorgeous dress! No way!

I really hate that man! So full of himself! He didn't even say sorry despite that I am a girl! I hate him even though he has those beautiful ruby-gem-like eyes...

Well...I can't do anything about it anymore; I just hope I don't see him again anymore!

TONDO PHILIPPINES

SELENE'S POV

In the 4th section street of Tondo where the Factory for plastic was being made, hides a dirty secret that kills a lot of children in the city.

"Sen are you sure you want to do this?"

Gust asks a million times again!

"Just lead my way for me to get in"

I said in my most authoritative tone.

"Alright fine! I can see that there are two men in the front, three at the back and a few scattered inside, the boss are inside too and the children"

Gust explained

"Good! Now it's my turn to enter!"

I said then jump from roof to roof until I get near the gate of the factory, the gate is big and had a barbwire attached at the top but I ignore it, I just jump at the top of the gate over those dangerous wires around.

Landing in front of two men guards, I manage to slit their throats before they can even use their guns, I slowly enter the factory and it has a lot of different rows where all the plastics are placed.

At the bottom part of the factory, you will hear the sound of a raging machine and chainsaw, when I try to look closely at what is going on, I saw the face of the kid with no life being cut open by those men and gently separating the organs from the body.

I begin to feel angry and aggrieved for those children; the anguish inside me is getting into my nerves which makes my eyes turning into red.

Almost five men are assisting the cutter and two men are on the lookout.

With my ability, I quickly slit the neck of the two lookouts and then crashed the head of the rest who is assisting the cutter.

The cutter does not know what is happening due to the loud sound of the chainsaw he is using to cut the limbs of the child.

When he noticed that suddenly no one is assisting him, he slowly turns around to check on them but he was shocked to see me wearing black standing in front of him.

"W-Who are you?"

The man shockingly asks me, I know that they believe no one can enter here or else they will be killed so confusion is all over his face right now.

I get silent while looking at the face of the little girl lying on the table with only her upper trunk left.

"I said who you are!? W-What did you do to my men?"

The cutter yells while shaking in fear but he never gets a response from me as I slowly walk towards him and then hold his hand, creepily caressing him while my other hand is reaching the chainsaw behind his back, I can see that he suddenly stiffened as I continue caressing him.

I can see the confusion on his face with the gesture that I am showing him, and when he tried to throw a look at the side corner of the factory his eyes widened seeing his men lying on the ground with crashed heads and a slit throat.

Out of fear, he tries to run away from me but he can't even do a single move, I grabbed his hand tightly while placing the chainsaw at the back of his head and when he turns around the chainsaw cuts his face between his upper and lower lips.

The upper part of his head drops to the ground while his body remained standing with a gushing burst of his blood.

Having the same anger inside me, I walk towards the office of the factory owner.

I try to open the door but the owner pulls a gun and shoots me in the forehead, I passed out on the floor for a minute.

"Look at you now bitch! No one can stop us even a slut like you!"

The owner said while looking down at me lying on the floor.

When the owner is about to escape bringing his bag of money, he is stunned to see me ahead of him, I am already standing in front of him still having a hole in my head.

"H-How come you were still alive!?"

The owner confusingly asks fear drawing on his face so he shoots me again but this time, I move fast like wind and am already an inch away from his face, he is shocked to see me having my red eyes and the bullet that is slowly coming out from my head as nothing happens.

Sweat dripping down from his temple, he kneels in front of me, pleading for his life.

"P-Please spare me, I will surrender myself to the police, just don't kill me. Please!"

The owner is crying for his life but I instead grab him and put him at the table and only his scream surrounds the whole factory.

Dawn sets in as I walk away from the factory, an old woman screams her lung out seeing a chopped body of a man that I hanged at the gate of the factory like a puppet with all barbed wires attached to his limbs and trunks.

I manage to save all the children from the factory.

"Sen Where are you?"

Gust asks,

I did not reply instead continuously walk on the side part of the road and bumped into a woman.

I was stunned to see her face looking closely at me but then I realize that my eyes are not yet coming back to their normal color.

I push her away and walk fast as I could.
