My best friend Vanessa told me, "Congratulations on your marriage," and she smiled as she gave me a tight hug, making me blush.

"I hope all the surprises that follow will be enjoyable for you." She repeated herself, but I did not get what she was saying.

I repeated, "Thank you, darling," as I turned to face each of the guests who had congratulated my husband and me.

I had always imagined the day I would walk down the aisle with the man I loved. Fortunately, even though I come from a wealthy family, my parents did not force me to marry wealthy men because that was what they wanted. Instead, I chose Finn Gold because of our shared love for one another and because, well, he was rich, which was a bonus for me.

Because of this, it was very simple for me to give up my heiress rights as the G-gold group's heiress, but since Finn is involved, it was all worthwhile.

But while I was holding his hands, my husband seemed to occasionally glance at the door's entrance, as if he were expecting someone.

"I need to head out and make some calls. He said, "I will be back soon," and left before I could reply.

Instead, as the guests praised me, I grinned.

However, I was left wondering what it was when someone approached me and gave me a wrapped piece of paper.

I squeezed it firmly in my left palm and welcomed the guests, not wanting anything to ruin my day. I had no curiosity about anything.

The guests would not stop asking for my husband, so when it appeared that Finn would not be arriving anytime soon, I decided to see how he was doing.

But then, the moment I walked out of the hall, I heard some moans at a dark corner of the environment while I shrugged.

Guests and their impatience! They could have waited till they got home before they did anything. I thought and smiled but then, I wanted to know who they were so I could gist with my best friend, Vanessa and we will have a good laugh about it.

Then, I walked towards that side and was shocked at what I saw. My husband and Vanessa were fucking each other!

I could not imagine what I had said as my eyes were widely opened and my hands shook. They did not even care if anyone could see them while my husband did his thing. He had never even gone wild with me to this extent.

I was a very emotional person and before I knew it, tears streamed down my cheeks and I squeezed my mouth and ran away as far as my legs could carry me towards the end of the big building and cried my eyes out.

That was when I realized that a small paper had been with me. Sighing, I opened it and my eyes shook again.

"I can't imagine how much of a fool you are to see that your husband is cheating on you with the woman you claim to love as your sister. Well, good luck in knowing!"

I gasped. Was I so in love with Finn that I did not know what was going on? I didn't even understand how this happened, right under my nose.

Two years ago, I met Finn at college and we fell in love with each other at first sight. Then, I introduced him to Vanessa but they never talked too much when we were together. How come?

I couldn't even hold any tears as I continued to cry so hard that I wanted nothing more than to divorce a man who was a liar, pretender and a cheat!

Then, I cleaned my eyes and walked to the car that would convey us back home. My phone rang identifying my husband as the call.

"Where are you?" He asked the moment I picked up the call.

"In the car" I said and hung up. I couldn't believe that I was so much in love with a cheat all these while.

Few minutes later, he got to the car while I wondered how best to confront him.

"Why did you cheat on me?" Was the first question I asked him. "I loved you so much and even trusted you"

"What do you mean?" Finn asked in pretense.

"Vanessa and you..." I couldn't complete the sentence as I broke down in tears again. He just stared at me.

I hoped he would ask for my forgiveness. Because of the love I had for him, I could still let it go but this man scuffed.

"Do you think I wanted this marriage?" He suddenly asked.

I looked at him in shock. What happened to all the proposals he made? The vows?

"What?"

"I never loved you. All I wanted was Vanessa the moment I laid my eyes on her but because we have been there for each other and the fact that she is understanding, I got married to you"

What? He could have just let me go!

Now I understood what Vanessa meant by the surprises that came after my wedding.

"Why did you have to break my heart?" I muttered, gasping for breath as I looked at him.

"Well, this was the easiest route before I saw my name and Vanessa's all the news claiming that your best friend stole your husband. I love that woman so much and will not let anything happen to her" He said again.

I was dumbstruck. This was the silliest thing I have ever heard.

"Let's divorce. I will have my lawyer prepare that and..."

"You must be kidding!" He said and walked out of the car while I broke down in tears again.

What the hell is going on? He cheated on me and did not want to divorce me?

I was not getting myself anymore as I walked towards the driver's seat and drove myself home. I needed to get changed and go to the club to relieve myself. This was damn crazy!

Few minutes later, I was already in the club, dressed in a halter white top on blue wedges as I sat down at a very scheduled part of the club and drank my ass out.

But I still wasn't drunk as I had a very high tolerance for alcohol. I could still reason things but not to that extent.

Then, an handsome man dressed in a black tuxedo suit who seemed to have been watching me all these while walked up to me and smiled.

"Hello pretty" He said and sat across me while I smiled back. Maybe this was better than Finn.

"You shouldn't be here alone. Come on, let me take care of you." He said and winked while I chuckled.

It was rare to find hardworking men around the club these days.

At least, they had more sense than my husband.

"Have this" He said and handed me a glass. Without thinking twice, I gulped it down and seemed like I was drowning. I thought I had a high tolerance for alcohol but this was something else.

"Let me take care of you" He said again while I smiled and nodded. We talked about a lot of things and he took me to the dance floor while we danced together.

That was the last thing I remembered before I passed out immediately.

The next morning, I opened my eyes slowly to the ray of sunlight which seemed to penetrate the room through the windows and shone down my eyes.

Then, I sprang up only to discover that I was naked all alone on the bed with some bundles of cash on the bed and a note which stated that I was very sweet. Then, memories of the previous night dawned upon me as I realized something - I slept with a total stranger on the eve of my wedding ceremony.

"You didn't sleep at home all night which makes me wonder how I did not know that you were a whore all these while" Finn said the moment I entered our room, filled with hatred.

A part of me was happy that something had happened between a stranger and me which was a payback on my behalf and another part of me was sad that I cheated on my husband.

"And what business of yours is it if I do not sleep at home?" I asked him. Now, he wanted to play the role of a strict husband?

"It's none of my business after all. You aren't Vanessa. We will be having a family dinner in the next ten minutes" He said and was about to walk out of thr room when I muttered something I did not expect him to hear.

"At least, I will get to let them know how much of a cheat you are and I can finally divorce you with their support" I muttered even though I had never seen his parents before.

They did not attend my wedding because they were out of the country and in other for them to make it up to me, they had promised a family dinner.

Before I could comprehend what was happening, Finn had rushed towards me like a flash and held my neck tightly while I struggled to breathe.

"Let... me ... go!" I mutter while his eyes were fixed on me, not wondering if I could choke or not.

Honestly, if anyone had told me that Finn would be like this, I would never have believed such person. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut instead when I found out about them..

"One word from you to them, I will make sure that you and your family go downhill. No one will ever hear about you again!" He said in anger while I closed my eyes and nodded my head strongly. I was not ready to die after all.

He pushed me to the wall and left the room while I coughed out so loud and held my chest. On a normal day, when something like that happened, all I will do was call Vanessa.

My mom will not help matters because she will remind me of her advice. She had once advised me to find someone of highest class than us but all I wanted was Finn. In the end, they did not pressurize me and succumb to my ordeals.

In the end, the maids had brought out a very nice attire for me to wear while I showered and wore the clothes. Somehow, I wanted to see that man I got intimate with last night.

Few minutes later, I was all set up for the dinner and came out of the room with Finn holding my hand, looking all lovey-dovey as my father-in-law and mother-in-law came inside.

"Hello darling," My mother-in-law, Teresa said and smiled as she gave me a hug.

"She's beautiful" My father-in-law complimented.

"Thank you for choosing Finn. He will not stop talking about you on phone, telling us how lucky he is to have you" Teresa said while I laughed.

If only they know how much of a liar he is! I thought.

"Why's your brother not coming in? The loads do not seem too much, do they?"

"Mom, what loads?"

"Oh please, I brought a lot of gifts for my daughter-in-law. I couldn't attend her wedding and I decided to make it up to her" She said.

"You shouldn't have let my brother do that. You know how lousy he can be" Finn said.

Finn had a brother? He didn't tell me that.

That was when I realized that I did not know so much about him.

"Should I check up on him? The gifts may probably be too much" I said and was about to walk out of the door when his brother came in and I froze in shock.

The same man I wanted to check up on was the same man I got intimate with!

He stared at me, trying to figure out where he had seen me and his eyes twitched. I knew he also recognized me that instant!

To think that Finn had also said that his brother was a lousy man made my heart beat. I began to think of the blame and shame I will face all because of what I had done.

Maybe I should not have walked away from that party yesterday. Maybe I should have endured the pain.

"Do you guys know each other?" Finn asked and looked at me suspiciously.

One thing about Finn was that whenever he had a suspicious look on, he would try to get to the root of the matter!

"Oh no! Your wife is dashing!" He said and laughed awkwardly and dropped a big box at a nearby corner of the living room while I trembled, wondering what to do.

This seemed more complex than I thought.

"Edwards, stop that. That's why you should also get married soon and stop complimenting women"

Teresa said while he nodded and smiled but glanced at me.

After a while, we all settled down on the dinning while I seemed distant. Edwards sat across me while I had my face buried in my food, not daring to look at him.

"I have something to say" Edwards said while my heart skipped my I threw my fork on the table helplessly with eyes widened.

He was lousy as his brother had said, what if he wanted to talk about what happened between us last night?

Then the headlines could go like this; Finn Gold, billionaire genius of XX city divorced his wife over infidelity after brother confesses to get intimate with her.

My heart thumped the more when he stared at me and I shook my head.

"What's it you want to say?" Finn asked, staring at me. Now, I was sure that it was evident he was more suspicious of me because of my actions.

"I like the meal and will like to get more" He said.

I knew Edwards was trying to play games with me but I felt relived as I sighed, happy that he had not said anything yet.

"Is that it? Can you let us eat out meals in peace?" My husband said.

Finally, we were done eating while Finn's phone rang. He went ahead to pick up the call while Teresa and her husband went ahead to check if the gifts were complete, saying that Edwards could be sometimes careless.

Then, I was left with Edwards.

"Funny how you are my younger brother's wife. That doesn't mean anything. I will like to have another taste of you again" He said while I scuffed.

Before he came, I wanted to meet the stranger who made me happy last night and now that I met him again, I felt irritated.

For some time, I wondered if this was also a surprise from Vanessa because if she knew about it, my life will never remain the same again.

It didn't take so long before Finn started to suspect that something was wrong as soon as he was back. However, Edwards did not seem like he cared about that instead as he kept flirting with me.

It took everything in me not to scream out as I hurriedly left for the kitchen.

To even think that Edwards wanted me was what I did not fancy.

But then, my phone beeped while I checked it out and turned around in shock. How did Edwards get my contact?

"Beauty, I know that you are scared because you do not want anyone to find out what happened. Don't worry, your secrets are safe with me so far you do what I want. It's a fair deal, right?" He had sent while my mouth became slightly opened for a while.

In the end, I had to pretend I had aches all over my body before I went to the room.

Few weeks of not responding to Edward's advances, I fell sick truly and had to visit the hospital.

My doctor called me the next day to let me know about my results. I had prepared my mind because I was definitely sure that it would be nothing but a normal sickness.

However, he smiled and handed over a letter to me.

"What's this for?" I asked in confusion.

"I am happy to let you know that you are three weeks gone"

I gasped in shock the moment he said that and my heartbeat accelerated than ever.

If I was truly pregnant, it only meant one thing, I was carrying Edward's baby.

My hands shook as I was all cringed in a position as if I had seen a ghost.

Finn hadn't slept with me for the past few weeks since we got married. Letting him know that I was pregnant was way out of it.

And I couldn't let Edwards know because he would use it against me!

"It's a happy news. You should let your husband know about this also. In just few weeks of getting married, you are already pregnant" The doctor added.

"Thank you. Please let this stay between us" I said and left the hospital in shock as my heart raced.

Sitting down in my car, tears streamed my cheeks as I buried my face in my palms. Right now, my life was fucked up because I had committed two grave offences.

I slept with my husband's elder brother and I was carrying his child.

My heart would not stop racing faster the more I thought about it.

Then, Vanessa's call came in while I sniffed. For a while, I wondered if picking the call was truly worth it.

Ever since I caught her and my husband, I had deliberately ignored her because as soon as I was done divorcing that man, I will not have a cause to see her again.

Now, she was calling again. For what exactly?

"What do you want?" I asked her coldly.

"Gina, let's talk. Meet me at Cc coffee shop" She said and hung up briefly.

I drove off to the coffee shop which was not too far away from the hospital and met her all seated, looking all lovey-dovey as she had a ring on her finger.

My husband had proposed to her? So fast?

"What do you want?" I asked her again.

"That's mean," She said, pretending.

"Listen, I know you are dating my husband and..."

"Finally!" She muttered and exhaled out as she dropped her coffee abruptly and then, focused her gaze at me sternly.

"Listen, I am glad you finally found out." She said. I looked at her in anger, wanting nothing more than to crush her for all the pain she had caused me.

"Of all people? My husband?" I said, being angry at the fact that she was not remorseful for her actions.

"I loved him and the feeling became mutual. Let me advise you, just divorce him because he doesn't even love you"" She said while I squinted.

How come I never realized how much of an enemy this woman was?

"Why did you do this to me? I took you as my sister and..."

"Oh please, just shut up. I care for you more than you do. That was why I asked Finn to get married to you because I do not want you to be unhappy if you see that we get married. Not like you have men coming after you!" She said while my heart thumped hard again.

That was a fact. I did not want Finn to slip out of my fingers because it was very hard to get a man to ask me out despite the fact that I was very beautiful.

"Did you call me to insult me?"

"Divorce him" She said again firmly and slowly drank her coffee while I scuffed again.

Did she think that I did not want that also?

"If you called me here to think that I will listen to you, you are truly shameless. You cheated with my husband behind me and you are crazy" I said and was about to leave when she laughed lightly.

"Here's a chance to give you the free life you deserve. Fred does not even want you. I guess you think you can change the way he feels about you, huh?"

"Has he promised you marriage?" I ask and smiled shortly. Even though I badly wanted a divorce, I still will not stoop so low to make this woman see that I am vulnerable.

"You don't have to ask me that. I am carrying his baby. Don't you get it?" She screamed out while I froze in shock.

In few seconds, I regained my balance.

"I will not still divorce my husband. For him to have chosen me, he wants me, not you. Whatever happens between the both of you will fade away"

I said and walked back to my car while it suddenly seemed like I started having a splitting headache.

How could Vanessa be pregnant? I wondered as I thought of the past when Vanessa had gone to the hospital after feeling unwell only for the doctor to have told her that she could not mother a baby because she had issues with her fallopian tube.

What exactly was going on? I wondered as I sat down in my car for a while.

After a few hours, I went home only to meet my husband in the living room, pacing around. The moment he sighted me, he sent his palms flying across my face and I staggered.

"How dare you?" Finn screamed out while I held my face in shock and touched my tummy. The impact of the slap scared me so much, hoping that it would not affect my baby.

"What's going on?" I wondered.

These past few days, I have decided just to be alone, wondering how I will get the divorce that I wanted but now, he just hit me?

I couldn't take this anymore as I resolved to call my mother. I needed the service of the family lawyer.

"What's going on? Vanessa is carrying my baby and you threatened to kill her? Are you crazy?"

I laughed lightly even though I was not feeling too well. He hit me because of Vanessa?

"You hit me because of Vanessa?"

"Just shut up. Vanessa isn't as desperate as you are. You badly wanted a marriage and I gave it to you. What exactly do you want?"

He asked.

"Tomorrow by 12 noon, I want us to meet someone" I said.

All these while, I never knew that Vanessa was around. The moment I said that, she rushed to hug my husband from behind.

"You should not scold my best friend too much and besides, we have a family gathering by that time. Remember your baby needs you?" She asked while Finn nodded.

I stared at the both of them furiously. No matter what, I will find a way to divorce this man.

"Expect a call from me" I said and walked inside.

Gasping for breath, I dialed my family lawyer's contact. After a few rings, he picked up.

"Schedule a divorce before I lose my mind"

I had said while he acknowledged and hung up.

Then, my door's knob was unlocked and Vanessa came inside. I watched her stare at everything in my room and suddenly, she brought out a knife.

"What are you trying to do?" I asked in fear, thinking of the many ways to save myself just in case anything happens.

Suddenly, she cut her right hand and applied a red ointment on a part of her tummy and threw the knife at me and screamed out.

"Finn, help me. I'm dying"

"What? That's childish." I said but she wasn't kidding. I immediately sensed that Finn would actually not let this go.

"Let me go!" She screamed out while I stared at her, unable to say anything.

It didn't take up to few minutes before Finn got into my room and hurriedly sat beside her.

"What happened to you?" He asked in fear.

"My best friend did this to me. The moment I came into the room because I wanted to explain things, she immediately brought out a knife and attacked me"

"What?" He said and looked at me with bloodshot eye.

"I loved you so much as my best friend, Gina. How could you do this to me?" Vanessa asked as tears dropped down her eyes while I scoffed. She really should be a good actress because it suited her.

Immediately, Finn called his best doctors to come treat Vanessa.

And almost immediately, he helped her to his room while he ordered his guards to make sure that I must not escape.

Not wanting anything to happen to my baby, I thought of what to do in fear but couldn't do anything as the guards were in front of my room.

Then, Finn came in, walked towards me and held my neck firmly, making me gasp for breath.

"How dare you?" He screamed out.

"I didn't do anything, I swear" I yelled.

"You think hitting her will change my feelings for you? I don't love you!" He said and pushed me to the wall in a fury.

"If anything happens to her, you will pay for it!"
