Chapter 1 One

SARAH'S POV

I adore his eyes, his charm, and those captivating lips. I long to feel his touch. He approaches me, and I grow impatient. 'Come closer,' I whisper. His body presses against mine, sending shivers down my spine. Our lips meet in a passionate kiss, and I feel my heart racing. I deepen the kiss, and he responds with equal fervor.

His hands caress my skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps. I feel his warm breath on my neck, sending shivers down my spine. He whispers sweet nothings, and I melt into his embrace. Our bodies entwined, I feel a connection like no other.

In this moment, time stands still. All that matters is the love we share. He whispers, 'I love you, Sarah,' and my heart skips a beat.

I wish. I wish he could even spare me a glance or look at me with desire burning in his gaze.

I rubbed my eyes as I sat on my bed with a smile on my face. It was the same dream I've been having ever since I was a teenager. Making love with the man of my dreams, I never get tired of having those dreams since they were the only times I get to see what I want to feel. I've been in love with my father's best friend ever since I was a teenager; he is so handsome, more handsome than my father, in fact, he can't be used to compare to my father because he was on a whole different level.

"Sarah." Yep, that's my father calling. I woke up late again, my sweet dreams wouldn't let me wake in time as I wanted it to last forever. Even after waking up, I still daydream about him.

"Sarah." Oops, I better get going before I get into trouble. "Yes, father, I'm awake, I'm coming." I rushed over to the living room, and I saw my father already dressed for work.

"Father, you're leaving this early, won't you have breakfast first?" I said as I tied my long hair in a ponytail.

He chuckled, "this early, do you know what time it is?"

I glanced at the wall clock, and my mouth formed an 'O'. I knew I must have woken up late, but this late. It was already 9 a.m. for God's sake, how was I meant to make him breakfast? "I'm sorry, father, I'll wake up in time from now on to make breakfast before you leave for work," I apologized sincerely.

"It's okay, I knew you must have studied late last night," he said stroking my hair.

I smiled because I knew what he thought wasn't true. Before I go to bed every night, I always imagine him in my head making love to me before I fall asleep and repeating those moments in my dream. I am really obsessed with his best friend.

"I'll get going now, take care. And don't mess around," he said before leaving.

I rolled my eyes, 'mess around?' My father always told me that many times before I leave for school. I won't blame him though, many college girls mess around, but I, well, I go to parties and have fun, but the messing around he was referring to, I don't do that.

I sighed and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. I was really starving to the extent my stomach growled loudly. I ate and washed up before leaving for campus. It was not that far from our apartment, but I still needed to take a cab to get there. My best friend Helen was already waiting for me at the class entrance.

"Hey, I was worried you wouldn't come, I was even about to call you. What took you so long?" Her hands were on her waists as she spoke.

"What's the event?" I asked, not sure why she was so desperate to see me.

"Duh, lectures will soon start, that's the event," she replied abruptly and walked into the classroom. She was also my desk mate, we've been friends since high school, and she loves partying and dating. She has never dated a guy for more than six months as she will leave them for other new hot guys.

"Helen, is there something else you want to tell me, and you are trying to say it indirectly, cause I know you." For certain, she has something else to say, when did she ever bother about missing classes or coming late to class.

She glanced at me before sitting down. "Sit." I knew it, I hope it's not about the topic I hate the most. "Look over there." She gestured. "I think he's a perfect match for you."

I knew it, the topic I hate the most. I belong to someone else, to the man in my dreams. I blinked at her, and she understood without me saying anything.

"Fine, then I'll take him." She poked her tongue at me before removing her phone from her purse.

"Um, Helen." I called her, and she completely ignored me. I placed my hands on my chin as I stared at her conversation with her boyfriend on her phone.

"I miss you."

"Me too, when are you free?"

"Tomorrow."

"Why not today, I really want to see you, I'm dying.

I coughed, and she glared at me. He will be dumped very soon. It's been over five months now since they started dating; I even lost count of how many guys she has dated. After having sex with them, she will move over to the next hot guy. She's a real bitch....

After chatting with the soon-to-be-dumped boyfriend she turned to face me, pumping her cheek. "I think he is tired of me."

I chuckled, what an understatement. Tired of you or you tired of him? My friend always seems to surprise me. "Please be honest." I grinned, poking her arm.

She pouted and then smiled. "There is this guy in his third year that attends this college, he is very handsome, his eyes... aaaaahh." She is planning to ask him out. I shook my head, not ready to listen anymore. As I was about to rest my head before someone approached me.

"Hi, beautiful." It was the new transfer student, Helen wanted me to meet, 'perfect match'. The opposite. I gave a fake smile and replied: "Hi." "Do you have time after today's class?" He asked, and I knew what he wanted.

I kept the fake smile and replied: "I'm sorry, I'm already taken."

Chapter 2 Two

I know it sounded crazy to say I was already taken by a man who doesn't know I harbor feelings for him. I am too obsessed with him that I can't think of going out with any other guy other than him.

The transfer student stared at me with disappointment in his eyes; I could see he really wanted to ask me out. I wouldn't blame him though, as I've got the perfect body most men want: big boobs and curves that send out waves whenever they set their eyes on me. But I only have eyes for the man in my beautiful dreams.

The lecturer finally arrived, and I was thankful he came at the right time to save me from the next couple of sentences he would have said to persuade me to go out with him.

After class, Helen offered for us to go shopping, and I gladly accepted. I really need a new set of jeans, a crop top, and also some colorful bras; my old ones are already getting bad. We stood ready to leave the classroom, and I could see the transfer student winking at me. I ignored him and followed Helen out of the class.

"Sarah, wait."

I turned to see who just called me; it was the same transfer student who wants me to spend my free time with him. I hate guys like him who keep trying to win girls over even when they've made it clear they are not interested.

"What is it?" I was tempted to glare at him but refrained. It might be rude to treat a new student like that on their first day.

"I, um, I just want to know when you'll be free tomorrow." He was trying to act cool with me. I chuckled inwardly and looked away, still trying to act cool back at him.

"I don't have time."

"Oh, I get it. You are serious about being taken. Well, let me know when he dumps you." He smirked, and I finally glared at him. Here I was trying to act nice to the new student, and he just said something rude to me. I walked away annoyed, slamming my foot on the ground.

"What did he say?" Helen asked as she could sense my anger.

"Something I could get him beat up for," I said and got into her car, sat down, and crossed my arms.

"I hope your mood wouldn't ruin shopping," she said while putting on her seat belt. "Put on your seat belt; you complain I drive too fast, it might save you if we get into any accident."

I glanced at her; was she planning on getting me killed? I immediately opened the door to get out of the car before I die by accident without saying goodbye to my crush.

She snickered when she saw my reaction. "Hey, I was just joking."

"It was an awful joke." I wasn't ready to die now, not before kissing the man I love on the lips and making love to him in real life. I heeded her caution and put on my seat belt; if putting on my seat belt would save me from dying, I will do it. She still continued to laugh at my silliness as I ignored her and told her to start driving.

"Sarah, which mall should we go to? I'm tired of shopping at the same mall over and over and over and..."

"I get it," I cut her off before my eardrums get torn with her complaints. "There's a new shopping mall downtown, but their clothes are expensive."

"No problem at all; I just want someplace new," she said in excitement. "Do they give a discount?"

Something must be wrong with her; I just told her everything sold there is expensive, and she wants a discount for probably one pair of clothes she was going to purchase.

I didn't reply, and she tugged my sleeve, waiting for my answer. I yawned to irritate her, and she pulled my hair.

"Bitch." I clung to her fingers, pressing them together.

"Ouch, it hurts. You... ouch..." She tried pulling her hands away, and I let go. She gave me a stern look before focusing on the steering.

"You don't want to die, and you were holding onto me while I'm driving."

I chuckled before resting my elbow on the car window. We arrived at the mall, and Helen's eyes widened.

"Holy sh*t, it's much bigger than the other one," she patted me on the back while nodding her head.

"Well done, girl, well done." Her praise made me burst into laughter. She has no idea how silly she looks.

"I can't wait to get my hands on a new dress," she clapped her hands together while admiring the beautiful dress display on a mannequin.

We went inside the large mall, and Helen couldn't keep her mouth closed as she gasped at all the attractive outfits and commented on each one of them.

"That one will make me look sexy, and sexy's good."

"Colorful."

"Nice matching outfit."

"That skirt is beautiful, Sarah. It will look great on you, try it on."

I sighed; I want jeans, not a short skirt. "No, thank you." I rolled my eyes at her and continued with my search for jeans.

"I'll buy that one. And Helen, which one are you buying?"

"All of them," she replied, fascinated by the outfits that she hasn't decided which one to pick yet.

The sales rep smiled, "Are you really buying all of them? Let me round up all the prices for you."

"No, no, I wasn't serious about what I said. I just love all of them, and I haven't decided yet." She explained herself immediately, not ready to go bankrupt I'm sure even the money in her account combined with her dad's can't afford to buy all of them.

After the long shopping, we finally exited the mall, and Helen couldn't stop smiling.

"This is the best shopping I have ever had in my life."

Yeah, she always says that every time we go shopping; I've also lost count of that one.

I turned my eyes, and my gaze landed on a figure I recognized very well. My heart skipped a beat, and my head spun with excitement. I haven't seen him for a long time, so I thanked the heavens I accompanied Helen today; otherwise, I would have missed the beautiful opportunity to see those glowing eyes and sexy lips.

It's the love of my life, Xavier, my father's best friend, the one in my wet dreams, the man I really want to kiss right now. I feel like running to him and kissing those captivating lips of his that are driving me crazy.

I noticed him wave at me. I clutched my chest as my legs weakened; he just smiled at me and waved. He is tempting me; I can't hold it in any longer. I might jump over him and steal a kiss. The next seconds, he began walking towards me, and my brain collapsed.

Chapter 3 Three

There is so much elegance in him and that is one of the many things I love about him. I really want to see what is hidden behind those clothes. Oops, I'm thinking dirty thoughts again. I tried steadying my breathing so he wouldn't notice, but it was proving to be really difficult. Could my heartbeat stay steady in his presence? No way in this world.

"Hi Sarah, how have you been? It has been a long time since I last saw you." His monotonous voice soothed my heartbeat to the extent I was gazing at him with dreamy eyes.

"I...I've been good," I managed to reply while still gazing at his beautiful eyes. "I..." I wanted to say how much I miss him before his phone interrupted me.

"Sorry, I will take this," he said, answering the call, and I felt like pulling the caller by the hair through the phone for ruining my moment.

Ten seconds later, he hung up and gave me an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, I would have loved to treat you to dinner, but I have to go now, it's work."

I smiled at him and shook my head while my fingers clung together. "It's okay, maybe next time." I hoped there was a next time as he hardly paid a visit nowadays. Even when he visited, I wouldn't be at home. When will I ever get this same opportunity? My dreams tonight will be very steamy since I saw him today. "Goodbye then, take care," he left and got inside his car.

"Sarah, Sarah." I snapped out of my daze and turned to see my friend giving me a questioning look. I completely forgot someone was beside me the whole time.

"Are you into him? Or are you just playing a sick joke?"

This was kind of awkward; my friend noticed my behavior just now. I can't tell her I am in love with a man far older than me, or she will think I'm crazy. Well, I am crazy, but only crazy for him.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, pretending to not understand what she said.

"I saw your face flush red when you were talking to him." She saw well, I really did blush; why wouldn't I? His presence produces many effects in me, and she just saw one of them. If only she knew what is going on in my mind.

"I'm hungry, let's have dinner in this newly opened restaurant," I diverted her to the conversation she loved.

"Where is it?" She asked, amused. I knew how to deal with her; just tell her stuff she loves, you'll cling her over to your side.

"Not too far away from here, let's go." We left the mall for our new destination, a fancy restaurant, and we ordered the cheapest meal they had.

Helen dropped me off before going home and saved me the transport fare. My father was already home when I arrived and I found him preparing dinner.

I sighed, I was supposed to make dinner, not him, but I came back late. How should I explain to him? Maybe I can lie that I studied in school until this evening, or say we had a small, interesting contest in school to find out who is best among us. What terrible lies. I sniffed the air and caught the smell of my favorite food.

"Oh father, it smells delicious," I gave him a hug from behind.

"You're late again," he said that without facing me, and I knew I broke the rules again, because I will never get punished for it.

"Father, lighten up, I'm a woman now, give me some freedom," I rested my chin on his shoulder, looking at the tasty meal he was preparing.

He rolled his shoulder to get me off him and turned his gaze towards me. "You know I care about you."

"I know," I smiled and gave him a hug. My father has been so protective of me ever since my mother passed away; the way she died stung his heart that he always made sure I came home early before 8 pm.

It was a cold night, and she just wanted to surprise us with something I couldn't remember, and she came across some robbers in the garage. Just because she refused to let go of her purse, she was stabbed in the stomach and left to bleed. Before the ambulance arrived, she had already lost a lot of blood. She left us just like that. I cried a lot when my father told me I would not be seeing her anymore; he said those words with tears in his eyes, and I understood my mother was gone. I was only nine back then and still in the 5th grade. My father decided not to remarry, and I was glad. No other woman could take the place of my mother in my life.

"What's wrong, father? Why so blue all of a sudden?" I noticed his change in demeanor.

He sighed. "Let's eat dinner first before we talk about it."

I hoped it was good news; I had been longing to receive one for a long time. We ate while he was busy with his laptop. He must be working on some important stuff that might give me headaches. He has worked for a manufacturing company for years now; he loves his career that he wanted me to study automobile engineering, but I refused. I love medicine, and that's why I chose to study nursing in college rather than studying automobiles. So boring. I prefer taking care of patients than vehicles. After having dinner, I sat on the sofa, waiting for him to tell me what got him worried. He sat beside me and stared deeply at me before speaking.

"I'll be leaving the country."

"WHAT!" He just dropped a bombshell on me. I stood up immediately I heard him; he is leaving the country to where?

"Hey, hey, hey, calm down," he chuckled at my reaction. "It's a job transfer, and um..."

"Um, what, father?" I think he wants to drop another bombshell on me. I widened my eyes while tapping my feet on the floor, awaiting his next words.

"I would really love to take you along, but..."

"You want me to leave college? I just started my second year," I cut him off before he could finish. "And why..."

"Sarah, calm down. You aren't coming with me; you are not a kid anymore to follow me around. But after you finish college, you will come over," he explained.

"Do you really have to leave?" I pulled a cute face and blinked.

"Yes, next week," he replied.

"So I will be leaving alone?" I gave him a side glance.

"Oh, I know what you are thinking. But I'm sorry to burst your bubble; you won't be leaving alone," he saw through me; I'm defeated.

"So you want me to leave in the dorm." I raised my eyebrows, expecting a yes.

"No," he replied, and I frowned; it was clear he doesn't want me to live without guidance, but I wonder who...

"You will be staying with Xavier until you finish college," he said as he stood up, ready to end the conversation.
