I'm afraid that feeling is slowly seeping into my heart. That's an appropriate phrase on Leo's mind right now, but it turns out an alana can create a far greater fear and Leo never suspects it. "So what are we doing today?" alana said as they finished their lunch. "You can do whatever you want, but don't bother me today. "Leo answered, turning his own wheelchair, but alana in her stubbornness interrupted him. "How about you read a book in the back garden? I'll accompany you." "No." "All right, we'll go there." alana blurted out Leo's refusal. "Don't you understand the meaning of no" "You're welcome." "Hey crazy lady, stop pushing me." "No way." "You got a death wish?" Leo pissed him off

Chapter 1 .Alana’s arrival

Leo stared intensely at the woman sitting in front of him, her head bowed, unwilling to lift it as if the man before her might pounce the moment their eyes met. More than ten minutes of silence hung between them, and neither wanted to utter a single word. The woman nervously squeezed her fingers on her lap, which grew increasingly sweaty.

"Different," Leo spoke, causing the woman to finally raise her head and meet the piercing gaze. However, just a few seconds later, she lowered it again, pondering the words the man had spoken.

Different? What's different? the woman wondered.

"It seems the sorceress is getting smarter," Leo said, then smirked. "Turns out she changed her tactics after her plan failed by throwing a cunning wench at me. This time, it's a housebound wench she's thrown at me. Clever."

Leo continued, making the woman in front of him grip her fingers tightly, her body trembling, and her eyes welling up. Her heart raced painfully. For the first time, someone called her that, and worse, it was her own prospective husband calling her a wench.

"Lift your head!" Leo said in his flat and cold tone, making the woman struggle to swallow her own saliva and slowly raise her head.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Alana," she answered softly as if whispering.

"So, what mission did she give you?" Leo inquired.

Mission? Alana furrowed her brow, not understanding.

"Is your mission to kill me?" Leo guessed, causing the furrow on Alana's forehead to disappear, replaced by widened eyes and a vigorous shake of her head.

"I didn't..." Alana was cut off.

"Then, what task did she assign you?" Leo interrupted.

"Aunt Rose just said she would arrange a marriage with her son," Alana explained, still speaking as quietly as possible.

"Who did she say her son is?" Leo asked.

Alana bit her lower lip before responding to Leo's question.

"Someone named Leo Smith," Alana answered, prompting a cynical laugh from Leo.

"I," Leo said, pointing to himself. "She's not my mother, just so you know," Leo continued, his cold expression returning.

"Yes, I know deep down, Alana. 'So, you better ask that woman again who the son she meant is,'" Leo said.

"I know you're not Aunt Rose's biological son, but she clearly mentioned your name," Alana replied, gathering courage despite her rapidly beating heart.

"So, do I have to accept you as my wife?" Leo asked, staring intently at Alana, making her more fearful and nervously nod her head.

"Stand up," Leo commanded, and Alana immediately straightened her posture, standing upright in front of Leo.

Leo scrutinized Alana from head to toe. Leo knew that Alana's appearance was different from the previous women Rose sent as potential wives. Most of them were beautiful and voluptuous, adorned with all the luxuries attached to them. Whereas Alana, she had an innocent face with simple and unassuming clothing. Leo admitted, Alana was somewhat charming.

"Why should I accept you? What advantages do you have?" Leo asked, making Alana furrow her brow again.

It's like I'm applying for a job, Alana thought. "I will take care of you well."

"In that case, just be my maid," Leo quickly replied, making Alana widen her eyes, but only for a moment.

"M-maid?" stammered Alana.

"Yes, isn't the one you mentioned earlier capable of being a maid?" Leo replied, causing Alana to grip the sides of her simple white dress.

Silence lingered for a moment, and Leo could see the fear and increasing confusion on Alana's face. However, Leo's next words furrowed her brow even more.

"Never mind, just tell the sorceress to set the wedding date," Leo said, immediately getting protests from his secretary and friend Pedro.

"But sir,"

"Just take me back to my office, Pedro," Leo cut him off, making Pedro grumble and reluctantly comply with his boss's wishes. Annoyed, Pedro pushed Leo's wheelchair back to his workspace.

oOo

"How was your meeting? Enjoyable?" Rose asked as Alana dropped her body onto the sofa and immediately massaged the bridge of her nose. Rose sat beside Alana, waiting for her niece's answer.

"Hey, answer, Aunt is waiting," Rose said, shaking Alana's shoulder. Alana instantly turned her head towards Rose with a disheveled expression.

"Don't you see my disheveled face?"

"No."

"Oh, come on, Aunt just threw me into the lion's den. I almost died standing there just from his gaze," Alana complained because that was exactly how she felt. "And you know, my fear increased when he agreed to this arranged marriage," Alana continued, massaging the bridge of her nose again, but unlike Rose, she didn't wear a happy expression.

"Really? Are you teasing me, dear? Come on, Alana, it's not April Fools."

"Do you think I'm in the mood for jokes right now?" After Alana finished her sentence, Rose suddenly screamed right next to Alana's ear while hugging her.

"Kyaaaa, finally, he's willing to get married," Rose shouted joyfully while shaking Alana's petite body.

"Aunt, stop shaking me," Alana grumbled while trying to release herself from her aunt's hug.

"So, when are you two getting married?" Rose asked.

"He leaves it to you!" Alana lazily replied.

"Is that so? Then, you'll get married next week."

"What?!" Alana shouted in disbelief.

"Why?"

"Is Aunt joking?"

"Do you think Aunt is in the mood for jokes right now?" Rose replied, turning Alana's previous words around, causing Alana to squint her eyes at Rose.

"What is Aunt planning, actually?" Alana asked, now with a serious tone.

"What is it? Aunt just wants you to be his wife."

"Come on, Aunt, don't pretend in front of me. Even he accused me of having a mission to kill him. How bad is your relationship?"

Of course, because two weeks ago, Rose suddenly visited her family, which hadn't met for more than ten years. Suddenly, Rose asked permission from Alana's father, who is also Rose's cousin, to marry Alana to her stepson. That's the only story Alana knew from her father. Somehow, her father agreed immediately and let Rose take her away. Ah, did she burden her father and brother's lives so much that they easily sent her to Rose?

"There's no mission at all. You just need to be a good wife to him and serve him wholeheartedly," Rose answered, dispelling Alana's momentary reverie.

"But he..."

"He's flawed," Rose interrupted.

Yes.

"No, he sees me like prey ready to be pounced on anytime."

"That's because you appear weak in front of him. Be yourself and conquer his heart," Rose said.

Chapter 2 . Wedding

Occasionally, Alana massaged her very sore calves. The guests seemed unending since two hours ago. "Who exactly did the sorceress invite?" grumbled Leo, causing Alana to turn and narrow her eyes.

Sitting, Leo felt irritated, especially since he had been standing with his wide smile for the guests. Alana even felt like her feet couldn't touch the ground anymore.

"Pedro, take me to the room," said Leo, making Alana turn quickly.

"Where to?" asked Alana, causing Pedro's movement to stop as he was about to spin Leo's wheelchair.

"I'll escort the master to the room," Pedro replied with a thin smile.

Matching superiors and secretaries, thought Alana, both equally expressionless. "What about me?" asked Alana, finally making Leo look in her direction. "Your first task is to welcome the guests. After all, I don't know them; only 1% of all the guests I know. The rest are that sorceress's gang, so you have to take responsibility," Leo's answer made Alana widen her eyes.

"Me, how can I? Especially since I only know 0.01% of all of them. So, this is not my responsibility." "Do you want to argue with your husband's first task, my wife?" Leo replied with an evil smile, making Alana reluctantly choose to stay silent and comply. "Pedro, let's go, I can't take it anymore," Leo continued, finally leaving Alana alone to welcome the guests at their wedding.

Alana hurriedly walked towards the elevator that would take her to the room designated for her and Leo. With quick steps, lifting her heavy dress, Alana finally entered the elevator and looked at her reflection in the elevator mirror before letting out a rough breath.

"Huff, how can he leave me alone to handle those people? Arghhhhh, my body!" Alana exclaimed at the end of the sentence while hitting her aching back. "You have to conquer his heart," those words suddenly crossed Alana's mind, Tante Rose's words that always encouraged her. A moment later, Alana smiled bitterly.

"Haha, what exactly needs to be conquered? Is Aunt Rose sure he has a heart? I doubt it," Alana muttered, but it couldn't be denied, Aunt Rose's idea was indeed correct. Conquering that wild lion required attacking his heart.

The elevator door opened. Before Alana actually stepped out, she took a deep breath and steadied her heart. "Okay, Alana, now it's time to be a good wife and conquer that wild lion," Alana muttered, encouraging herself.

Meanwhile, in a different place, namely the room where he was, Leo was busy dealing with a stack of files in front of him. Although it was his wedding day, Leo didn't care at all; for him, his work was the number one priority.

After a few moments, Leo lifted his head as the sound of the nearby door opening caught his attention. Leo raised an eyebrow, casually watching a woman walk into the direction of the bed. It was unclear what she was doing as she bent down for a moment. However, the next moment, Leo's eyes widened as Alana nonchalantly removed her wedding dress in front of him.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked angrily, making Alana quickly turn around, surprised. "Aaaaaa, what are you doing there?" Alana asked, crossing her arms over her chest, even though she knew it was entirely useless.

"I should be asking that, why are you entering this room?" "Of course, with this!" Alana replied, showing her cardlock. "Get out!" Leo commanded with a firm tone.

"No," Alana quickly replied, slightly surprising Leo. Apparently, this girl dared to defy his orders. "Moreover, this is the bridal suite, so it's also my room," Alana said, trying to normalize her heartbeat, and she turned her gaze back to her suitcase to choose sleepwear.

"What are these clothes?" Alana thought when she saw that her suitcase only contained thin sleepwear and Leong Leong, whose function Alana didn't know. Of course, Aunt Rose prepared it. Reluctantly, Alana took one of the sleepwear dresses and put it on right in front of Leo.

Meanwhile, Leo could only remain silent, watching Alana's movements in front of his eyes. Leo's face turned red as he tried to contain his anger and the pounding of his heart. Leo wasn't lying; Alana's body might not be as sexy as some of his ex-girlfriends, but just imagining it, in a certain part, Alana's body would fit perfectly in his hands.

Damn.

Leo cursed as his dirty thoughts started invading his mind. He should have turned his gaze to the stacked files in front of him, not watching Alana changing clothes. Was she intentionally trying to tease me, thought Leo. Indeed, maybe this was her tactic to tease him. Leo didn't expect Alana's outward appearance to be so deceiving; it turns out she had the audacity like the other vixens, Leo thought.

And what's even more nonsensical is himself. Even Leo continued to stare at Alana, who had finished changing, and now she walked towards the table where Leo was inspecting the pile of papers. "On our wedding day, your secretary still gives you this much work?" Alana asked, shaking her head.

"That's none of your business," Leo replied, then picked up one of the files and began reading it. "Are you hungry or do you want to change clothes?" Alana offered with her sweet smile, making Leo raise an eyebrow.

"Are you playing the role of a good wife now?"

"Of course, it's my duty, isn't it?" Alana replied, winking at Leo, making Leo squint his eyes. It turns out the girl in front of him is wilder than he thought.

"So, what do you need, my husband?" Alana asked, still offering her help.

"Nothing, I'll call Pedro."

"No, Pedro, the secretary, has gone home, so tonight I'll be the one serving you," Alana's answer made Leo grumble and quickly reach for his phone to contact someone, and Alana was sure he would call his personal secretary.

However, from his annoyed expression, Alana could guess that Aunt Rose had successfully made the couple part ways for a while. Leo roughly tossed his phone onto the table and reached for the documents he was reading.

"So, what do you want now? Eat, change clothes, or go to the bathroom?" Alana offered again, making Leo annoyed and glare at her.

"What I want is for you to get out of my way and let me concentrate on work."

"Oh, come on, it's our wedding night, isn't it."

"Do you expect me to touch you?" Leo asked with a raised eyebrow.

No, of course not.

"Yes," Alana answered, making Leo slightly startled. "I mean, not like that, I just

want us to rest now. I know you must be tired," Alana whined.

"Get out before I get really angry," grumbled Leo, finally making Alana start to feel afraid again. "Okay, okay, I won't force you, but if you need anything, call me," Alana replied, but Leo didn't care and started focusing on the documents in his hands. However, the next moment, Leo's heart seemed to truly stop as he felt a soft hand touch the side of his face. Leo could see Alana up close. Alana casually pressed her lips against his, then nibbled on Leo's lower lip. After that, she walked to the bed and immediately lay down, leaving Leo still standing there, stunned with a heart that seemed to leap out.

Chapter 3 .Alana’s existence

"Hey, wake up, Sleeping Beauty." Alana could hear someone trying to wake her up, but the drowsiness urged her to keep her eyes closed, ignoring the sounds she heard.

"In the count of three, if you don't wake up, I'll splash you until you're soaking wet." Again, Alana ignored the voice. And in a few seconds...

"Aaaaaa...!!!" Alana's scream echoed throughout the room. Alana quickly sat up and wiped her face, which was now completely wet.

"What are you doing?"

"Waking you up, what else," Leo casually answered, making Alana shift her gaze to the clock on the nightstand, then back at Leo.

"You poured water on me and woke me up in the middle of the night?"

"So, what if I did?"

"If you need something, at least wake me up gently, like giving a kiss on my forehead or stroking my hair."

"Are you still dreaming? Your talk is nonsense. Quickly get up and get out of my bed," Leo said, making Alana look at him with a question mark.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"I've been tortured enough sleeping in the same bed with you for this week. Tonight and onwards, I want to sleep soundly. So, get out quickly," Leo explained, making Alana grumble in disagreement.

"What's wrong with my presence? You're exaggerating. Every morning when I wake up, I see you sleep very soundly. Even if there's an earthquake, I'm sure you won't wake up."

"Of course, because I can only sleep after midnight due to your sleeping style. So, get out!"

"Why do you have a problem with my sleeping style?" Alana continued to ask, unwilling to back down.

"You always hug me tightly, and your legs never stay still. Do you think I'm your pillow?" Leo, irritated, explained, though not everything. It's not just that which prevents Leo from sleeping. He doesn't want to keep looking at Alana's face while she's asleep. He doesn't want to give his heart even a tiny crack for Alana because, to Leo, Alana and his stepmother are the same. He just wants Alana to die quickly and inherit all the wealth left by his father.

"It's normal; I'm sure every wife in the world hugs her husband like that while sleeping," Alana said.

"Yes, but they will sleep gracefully next to their husbands, not like you who snores loudly," Leo quickly replied, making Alana startled and laugh, surprising Leo.

"Hahaha, what are you saying? I snore? That's impossible; I can't be like that."

"How do you know you're snoring when you're asleep?"

"Anyway, I don't want to move. I'll keep sleeping next to you," Alana answered, then turned around, facing away from Leo, and went back to sleep, while Leo tousled his hair in frustration. It turns out the woman who officially became his wife a week ago is not only wild but also very stubborn. Leo slightly regrets accepting this marriage.

Finally, whether he likes it or not, Leo gives in and struggles to move his own body onto the bed. Alana immediately turned around when she felt movement next to her. Alana saw Leo beside her with sweat dampening his temples. Alana knew Leo must have struggled to move his own body onto the bed.

"Why don't you ask for my help?"

"I can do it by myself."

"At least, I can help by holding your hand," Alana whispered because Leo had never asked for her help unless Alana insisted persistently.

"Look, you're sweating," Alana said, wiping away the sweat on Leo's temples, making Leo quickly push away Alana's hand.

"Don't touch me randomly."

"I'm just wiping away your sweat. What's wrong? You won't die just because of my touch."

"Yes, I know because it's still early. I already know your wicked plans with that sorceress. After our marriage has been a few months, I'm sure you'll start plotting my murder," accused Leo, making Alana sigh heavily.

"It's up to you. Are you into watching thriller movies now? I suggest starting to reduce watching things like that. It affects your brain."

"Did you just lecture me?"

"No, forget it. I'm still very sleepy, so let's end the debate for tonight," Alana surrendered because this time her eyes were really heavy.

"Fin..."

"Yes, okay, good night, my husband."

Kiss

Alana then kissed Leo's cheek and went back to sleep with her back turned to her husband. Meanwhile, Leo, once again, fell victim to Alana. Leo has lost count of how many times Alana easily stopped his heartbeat. Leo is sure Alana doesn't need poison or sharp objects to slowly kill him. With her carefree attitude, Leo has felt his heart almost stop several times.

"Are you okay?" Pedro asked, looking at his boss intently.

"What's wrong with me?" Leo replied, still focusing on the laptop in front of him.

"Is your insomnia acting up again?" Pedro asked.

When alone, Pedro and Leo often chatted casually like close friends, but Pedro would turn into a submissive subordinate in front of others.

"No, but someone really makes it impossible for me to sleep."

"Is it your wife you're talking about?"

"Yes, who else. I want her to stay away from me tonight. I want to sleep soundly, Pedro," Leo said with a tired look in his eyes.

"Is her performance in bed so great that you can't match it?" Pedro guessed, immediately receiving a pen thrown at him by Leo.

"Watch your words. I don't even want to touch her, so I don't care about her Leong-Leong in my room today either!" Leo ordered firmly.

"Haven't we tried that method several times but failed? She'll come back to sleep in your room."

"In that case, make sure she doesn't get a duplicate key to my room. I'll lock myself in the room after coming home from the office."

"Ah, we've tried that method too," Pedro replied, trying to remember the methods they used to keep Alana away from Leo, but the results were always the same, and it made Leo frustrated.

"Ck, you can even conquer our competitor company, but you're defeated by a woman like Alana. I really question the effectiveness of your performance this time, Pedro," Leo said with a mocking tone, making Pedro grumble.

"It's your wife who is too slippery to handle, so don't blame my performance. Moreover, during this week, I've been observing her, and she hasn't shown any signs of danger at all. She's really learning how to be a good wife for you. Even from the reports of several cooks, she's willing to spend a long time in the kitchen just to make your favorite food."

"Ck, ck, ck. Now, even Pedro, the untrickable secretary, has started to be fooled by that snake-like woman, and I won't let myself be fooled by her like you, Pedro. I'll make sure her disguise and that sorceress are exposed. Just wait and see," Leo said, convincing himself.

"Well, it's up to you. I'll just keep an eye on her. If anything suspicious happens, I'll report it to you."
