Chapter 1 Divorce

"How about you file for a divorce on the grounds that she is infertile?"

Rebecca Dixon stood outside the door. And she felt a chill all over when she heard the woman's voice from the room. She couldn't believe those words came out of her loving mother-in-law's mouth.

Infertile?

Rebecca and Yosef Swain had a marriage of convenience. A month before their marriage, he had a car accident. His leg was so seriously injured that he almost had an amputation. Everyone persuaded her not to marry him. But she wanted to keep her promise, so she still married him regardless of anything.

They had been married for more than a year, and during this period, she had been taking care of Yosef. They never had sex, but he and his family would make her the scapegoat and accuse her of being infertile.

"A big incident happened in Dixon Group, and the company is in debt of more than one billion dollars. Since Timothy died in an accident when he went to deal with the matter, I'm afraid Rebecca will have to shoulder the debt by herself. If you don't divorce her as soon as possible, it will affect us. You married Rebecca so that the two families could support each other. I don't want the Dixon family to drag us down. Yosef, what do you think about it?"

Rebecca gritted her teeth, and she couldn't help trembling all over.

Yosef should refuse, right? After all, she had been taking good care of him in the past year.

"No need to rush."

Rebecca was lost in thought when she heard Yosef's deep voice.

But before she could breathe a sigh of relief, he continued, "Although something happened to the Dixon family, Timothy left a lot of things for Rebecca. I'll try my best to persuade her to convert everything she has into money, making her believe that I only want to help her. After I get the money, I'll divorce her."

Rebecca couldn't believe her ears. She didn't expect Yosef to be so cruel.

Her mind went blank for a moment. She took a step back, forgetting that there was a stair behind her. She missed one step and rolled to the floor.

"Who is it?" Yosef asked.

Rebecca hurriedly stood up, turned around, and ran away.

"It's Rebecca. She heard everything. We can't let her run away," her mother-in-law said.

The night was dark outside, and the rain was getting heavier, making the surroundings gloomy and pitch-black.

On this rainy evening, even cars could not be seen on the normally busy street.

Rebecca's head was blank, and the rain blurred her vision. She didn't know where she was, and she just kept on running numbly.

Suddenly, a light shone in front of her. It was so dazzling that she had to stop and raise her hand to cover her eyes.

The car suddenly accelerated and ran towards her.

Rebecca had no time to dodge. As the loud bang rang out, her body was thrown a few meters away. She felt like her entire body was crushed. It was so painful that she could hardly even scream.

The car stopped, and someone got out. The person walked up to her and checked her condition.

"Mr. Swain, she is still alive. Shall we hit her again?"

Yosef's cold voice came. "Yes."

Yosef walked up to Rebecca step by step.

Rebecca's eyes widened in shock. She didn't know that Yosef could walk again.

He squatted down and looked at her. "I don't intend to kill you. But unfortunately, you heard our conversation. At first, I only wanted to divorce you. But now I realize it's not bad to tell the public that my wife has died in a car accident. In this case, everything that is yours will be mine. I can declare that Dixon Group has gone bankrupt. I won't be responsible for its losses and debts. It's only a fair deal, right?"

Yosef paused and smiled. "By the way, I'll tell you another secret. You are going to die anyway. Actually, after the Dixon family's accident, I have already found someone to replace you. And it's your best friend, Paige Potter. She loves me, and she seduced me before we got married. Some time ago, she always came to our house to comfort you, right? We had sex and now she is pregnant with my child. After you die, I will marry her."

Yosef looked at Rebecca's face. He couldn't help licking his lips and saying, "You're so beautiful. But unfortunately, your family's trouble came at an inopportune time. I haven't even slept with you yet."

As he spoke, he stretched out his hand and pinched her chin. "How about I take away your virginity before I kill you? After all, if you die a virgin, you won't know what a man tastes like."

Rebecca glared at Yosef, thinking he was a bastard.

Her eyes turned red, and her heart was filled with pain and hatred.

Yosef's hand slide down, going deep through her body. It stimulated her nerves, and she subconsciously resisted. She suddenly saw a car coming not far away.

She bumped her forehead against Yosef's, making him dodge in a hurry.

Rebecca took advantage of the opportunity. She tried her best to get up and rushed towards the approaching car.

A sharp sound of brakes sounded. She rushed over, opened the car door, and got in.

"Help me... Please drive away. They want to kill me. They want me dead."

No one spoke. When Rebecca raised her head, it was only then that she saw the situation inside the car. There was a partition between the front and the back, and a man was sitting on the other side of the back seat.

The man had his head down, and it was dark, so she couldn't see his face clearly. But she saw that blue veins stood out on his forehead and hands on his knees. It was as if he was enduring great pain.

"Sir? Is something wrong with you? Are you sick?"

The man, who seemed to be holding back his emotions, finally said, "I don't want to hurt anyone. But you throw yourself at me."

Chapter 2 Sex In The Car

Rebecca was stunned for a moment. What did this man mean?

Before she could react, the man suddenly made a move. He was like a hungry wolf when he pounced on her.

"Hey, wait! What are you doing? Ahhh!"

Rebecca couldn't help screaming when the man pressed her under him. Then he lifted her long dress, stretched his hand down her smooth leg, and finally stopped at the sensitive part of her body between her thighs.

Rebecca couldn't help trembling all over. Even though she had no experience in sex, she immediately realized what he wanted to do.

"Don't... Please, no... Let me go..." Rebecca struggled with all her remaining strength.

But the man was too strong for her. He held her two hands tightly and pressed them on top of her head with one hand. Then he forcibly parted her legs.

When she was hit by the car just now and ran to escape, she had exhausted almost all her strength. Now, she was not that strong to resist anymore.

But she didn't want to lose hope. They were in the car, so a driver was in the front, and someone might pass by outside. She might be saved.

Rebecca felt so shy and anxious at the same time that her face flushed like a freshly-picked peach.

"Help! Help me!"

The car seemed to have been driven into a hidden place, and the driver got out. She also heard a click, which meant the doors were locked.

There were only two people left in the car. The man's heavy breathing and the woman's crying voice were audible. These sounds did not subside for a long time.

Rebecca was so weak that she fainted twice during the process. When she woke up again, it was still dark.

The man had fallen asleep because of exhaustion. And the driver was nowhere to be found.

Rebecca opened the door carefully, trying her best not to make a sound. And the moment her feet touched the ground, her legs became weak. She stumbled forward and fell. But she had to escape. She hurriedly got up and staggered away.

After a while, the man in the car moved and slowly opened his eyes.

At this moment, the pain was no longer as intense as before. But his face looked a little terrible.

He turned his head and saw the mess on the seat next to him. As he looked at it, his eyes darkened at once.

The driver had already come back, but he didn't dare to get in the car. Instead, he stood respectfully outside the car, waiting for the man's order.

The man rolled down the window and asked in a low voice, "Where is that woman?"

The driver looked at the empty surroundings and quickly lowered his head. "I'm sorry, sir. I went too far just now, and I didn't keep an eye on her. She should have left."

The man pinched his glabella, feeling a headache.

"Find her. Make sure to find her for me."

Rebecca wandered on the road aimlessly. She was lost in thought.

She didn't know what to do. After what happened last night, she would never go back home anymore. But her father's house had already been sold to pay back his debt.

Fortunately, she still had her mother. Her parents divorced when she was a few months old, and her mother left her to her father to marry someone else. Still, her mother was her only family now.

Rebecca decided to find her mother. But as soon as she arrived at the door, she heard a roar from inside. "You are forcing me! Everyone knows that Martin is blind and short-tempered. It is even rumored that he has killed someone. Why do you want me to marry him? There's no way I'll marry that lunatic! I'd rather die. You can marry him if you like."

After this, the door was forcefully pushed open, and a fashionably dressed woman rushed out.

She was Rebecca's half-sister, Rosina Lynch.

"Rosina, come back here!" Her mother, Casey Lynch, chased after Rosina. But Rosina had already got in the car, started it, and driven away quickly.

"Mom..." Rebecca called out softly. She bit her lower lip, feeling a little uneasy.

Casey turned her head and was surprised to see Rebecca standing outside. She looked Rebecca up and down and asked, "Rebecca? What are you doing here? What happened to you?"

With Rebecca's messy appearance now, it was not surprising that Casey looked so shocked.

Upon hearing Casey's question, Rebecca could no longer hold back her tears. She sobbed and said, "Mom, Yosef wants to divorce me. He wants to kill me."

"What?" Casey asked in surprise and let her in.

It took Rebecca almost half an hour to tell Casey everything. "So, because of the mess your father left behind, Yosef plans to divorce you on the grounds that you are infertile? And because you overheard their conversation, he wants to kill you?"

Rebecca nodded. "Yes, Mom."

Casey frowned. "What does the debt left by your father have to do with you? Do you want to take over Dixon Group?"

Rebecca lowered her eyes, and her eyelashes trembled. "The company was founded by Dad. I don't want to give it up."

Casey was silent for a while. Then she said in a low voice, "But you have to be burdened by the heavily indebted Dixon Group. Yosef not only abandons you but also wants to kill you. Although my husband is rich, we probably have no way to protect you."

Casey pursed her lips and seemed to be thinking. Then she said, "I have a way to make Yosef not dare to hurt you. Maybe it can also solve the crisis of Dixon Group. But I don't know if you are willing to do it."

Rebecca looked at her in confusion and asked, "What is it, Mom?"

Chapter 3 Replace Rosina

Casey coughed lightly to clear her throat. Then she said, "Do you know the Stevenson family? It is the richest and most powerful family in the country. My husband wants Rosina to marry into their family. But she strongly opposes it because she loves someone else. As you saw just now, she ran away from home because of this matter. We have an appointment with the Stevenson family two hours from now, but Rosina is not here. Why don't you replace her and marry into the family instead?"

Rebecca's eyes widened in shock. "You want me to replace Rosina and marry into the Stevenson family? But Yosef and I haven't divorced yet. Just now, I heard from Rosina that the man is blind."

Casey's eyes turned cold when she heard this. "Yosef is going to kill you. Are you still not going to divorce him? Don't worry. If things work out right, the Stevenson family will help you get rid of him. Yes, Martin Stevenson is blind. But you have already been married. And when you married Yosef, he was also disabled, right? But you still married him anyway."

Rebecca felt cold all over, and she couldn't help trembling.

She thought what had happened last night had already made her fall into hell. But what her mother said made her feel like she was at the bottom of hell.

"Martin is a Stevenson. His family is much better than the Swain family. Besides, you have no choice. Marrying into the Stevenson family is your only way to solve your current predicament."

Rebecca's eyes turned red. "But Mom, although Martin is blind, he is still a Stevenson. Will he be willing to marry me?"

Complicated emotions flashed through Casey's eyes. "Compared to Rosina, the Stevenson family might prefer you."

Rebecca was stunned, not understanding what her mother meant.

Two hours later, Rebecca, Casey, and her current husband, Howard Lynch, sat in a private room they had booked in advance.

The man sitting opposite Rebecca was Martin Stevenson.

Martin was good-looking. His eyebrows were well-defined, and his facial features were charming. However, he looked so cold. And his empty and glassy eyes didn't match his face.

Sitting next to Martin was a lady with exquisite makeup. She was Grace Stevenson, his mother.

Since she sat down, she had been silently observing Rebecca. And this made Rebecca feel a little uncomfortable.

Rebecca bit her lower lip and moved her body. But her waist was so sore that she couldn't help frowning and gasping.

"That's probably the case. What do you think, Mrs. Stevenson, Mr. Stevenson? Rosina is a bit willful. I'm worried that she can't take good care of Mr. Stevenson. So after careful consideration, I think Rebecca is more suitable."

Grace smiled. "Her name is Rebecca? She is very beautiful. I already liked her very much when I first saw her. And at such a young age, she has encountered so many things. She is a poor girl. She looks gentle, so I believe she should be good at taking care of people. If she can take good care of Martin, it will be great."

Rebecca felt a little strange. Logically speaking, any mother who cared about her child would not agree with this situation. But why did Grace show her such a positive attitude?

As far as she knew, Grace was the first and only wife of the head of the Stevenson family. And she was Martin's mother.

"But it depends on Martin," Grace continued. "Martin, what do you think? What do you think of Rebecca? Do you want to marry her?"

Everyone turned their eyes to Martin, holding their breaths and waiting for his answer.
