Chapter 1 What's this

"I can't believe I'm soon gonna get married, Loraine."

Loraine chuckled. She turned away from the mirror and looked at her beautiful five months pregnant sis sitting on the bed. "Well, you better, Leslie. I just wish mom and dad were here to see it."

Leslie let out a sigh and lowered her gaze as she remembered her parents. Their death was disheartening, though it's been two years. She cursed the day they decided to go on a vacation and boom, on their way back, the plane exploded with them in it. It was hard to contain the cries. Losing both parents at once was difficult to process, to handle.

Luckily, she still had Loraine who was always there as her big sister. Though she's adopted they've been sisters since she could ever remember.

It was even around the year her parents died, and when their will was pronounced that she discovered the truth about it. Everything her parents own, almost eighty percent was given to her. The company, the mansion, and some lands and properties with just a few given to Loraine.

Although, she's planning on soon giving Loraine all the properties. She deserves it.

Loraine walked and sat beside Leslie on the bed. "Why don't we go out, Les?"

Leslie looked at her. "To where?"

"Uh, a bar," Loraine answered unsurely.

Leslie chuckled. "Loraine, you can see I'm pregnant, right?"

Loraine nodded. "I know, but you won't be taking any beer. Just juices and we could just have fun and laugh away."

Leslie smiled. "Well, do not take beers either, 'cause I don't have any strength to carry you.'

Lorraine chuckled, shaking her head. "Don't worry about that, Marcel will be there."

Leslie's eyes brightened. "Really? He's coming too?"

Lorraine nodded. "Of course. Let's celebrate you both getting married in the next five months."

"I just can't wait to give birth," Leslie uttered excitedly.

Lorraine smiled. "Well, we all can't wait." She stood up from the bed and turned to her. "So, dress up, sis. Let's head out."

Leslie nodded and Lorraine left her room.

Arriving at the bar, they met Marcel already there with a glass of beer in front of him. He stood up and walked toward her, holding her waist. "Hey, babe."

She smiled and wrapped her hands around his neck. "Hi." They both kiss affectionately.

Lorraine coughed. "People are looking." She uttered, before passing by and taking her seat.

Lorraine and Marcel both pulled away from the kiss with smiles on their faces. She dropped her hands from his shoulder and he took one of them. "Let's go." He said before leading her to the seat.

It was a long nauseous day for Leslie. She let out a groan as she felt a serious headache. Her head was pounding.

She opened her eyes weakly and looked around the place which happened to be her room. She looked at her closed window and at the brightness, with small light streaming out of the curtains, realizing it was morning already.

She gently sat up from the bed and looked at her clock to see it was eight in the morning. "Whoa." She muttered in surprise, wondering how she got back home.

She remembered clearly, that she was last in a bar with her sis and her fiancee. How did she get home without her realizing it? Or did she sleep off?

She sighed, shaking her head. What pregnancy do to her. She left the bed and got up from it with a sigh, hoping Marcel had just slept beside her instead.

She freshened herself up, put on a white beautiful long gown, and tied her hair into a ponytail before leaving the room, knowing she was supposed to be at work for a board meeting in an hour's time.

About to head down the stairs, something stopped her in her tracks. The sounds she was hearing sounded like moans. The kind of moans filled with pleasure. She walked away from the stairs toward it and the sound seem to be coming from her sister's room.

She just shook her head with a smile as she stopped in front of it. "Wow." Her sister doesn't normally bring men to the house, even at all, so hearing this was surprising.

And as she was about to leave, she heard something. A very familiar voice. She faced the door once again in confusion and eavesdropped in case she heard the voice again.

"Oh, fuck yes, Lorraine." She heard, making her jaw drop. "This is so funny having to do this so free."

She blinked with a frown on her face laced with absolute confusion. The voice was definitely Marcel's. She let out a shaky breath, wondering what to do. She was really hoping she was wrong, cause she wasn't sure how she'll react to it.

She raised her fist up, and knocked on the door softly, hoping to get a response.

"She's awake." She heard her sister say which made her stomach churn, and her heart uneasy.

"Then let's go to her." She heard Marcel's voice again.

In no time, the door opened, her widened gaze was filled with shock, disbelief, and betrayal as she stared at the both of them. Lorraine was wrapped with her bedsheets while Marcel was wearing pants, his torso bare.

"What's this?"

Chapter 2 Pushed out

"What's this?" She asked with shaky breaths.

Lorraine looked at Marcel before looking back at Leslie. "Oh, this...we were just having some fun. I don't see anything wrong with having fun with my man."

Leslie blinked in confusion and looked at Marcel. "Does Marcel have a twin that I don't know about?"

Lorraine chuckled and shook her head. "No. This is Marcel."

Leslie swallowed and shook her head, a hard ache seizing her head. "I don't understand, Leslie. What the hell is going on here? You both have been doing this behind my back?" She attacked, even though she was still in disbelief.

Lorraine was her most trusted person. Her sister. Her light when she's in the dark. Always there for her. What the hell is she seeing in front of her?

"Behind your back, ah?" Lorraine scoffed. "He was never yours, Leslie. You both being together is just a means to an end."

Leslie looked at the both of them in confusion. "What?"

Marcel grabbed Lorraine's waist making her giggle, and placed a kiss on her cheek in front of Leslie who was shaking where she stood. "Lorraine has always been my girlfriend. The woman I love, not you."

Lorraine nodded in agreement. "Yep."

Leslie stared at the both of them. Feeling like the confusion was about to explode in her brain. "This isn't...this is all confusing, I'm probably still on the bed dreaming."

They both laughed like it was a joke. "You're not dreaming, sissy. Remember yesterday evening we went out?"

She gave Lorraine a dull expression.

"We spiked your juice a little, enough to make you so dizzy and confused." She informed.

Leslie furrowed her brows. "And why?"

Lorraine handed over a file. "Because of this."

Leslie took it and opened it. It was a deed of sale. Her mouth fell open as she saw her signature under it. "What?" She flipped all the pages and looked at her with widened, glossy eyes.

Lorraine nodded and snatched it from her hand. "Yeah. You blindly handed everything to me, Leslie. I've tried so many ways to achieve that but nothing ever worked with you, until yesterday."

A vortex of amplified sadness engulfed her, tears rolling down her eyes at the realization that seem to be heartlessly dawning on her.

Lorraine shook her head and walked back into the room.

Marcel leaned himself against the door frame. "I'm sure you know that's enough to know you've lost everything."

Leslie looked at him and gave him a sound slap on the face, causing his head to hit the frame of the door. "How dare you? How could you do this to me, Marcel?"

Lorraine came out of the room, dressed in a pajama gown. "You have no right to put your filthy hand on Marcel, Leslie." She lashed out, standing face to face with Leslie.

Leslie's face contorted as she stared at Lorraine with eyes blinded by tears, brain filled with images of betrayal and deceit. "I...trusted you, Lorraine. How could you do this to me?"

"How could I?" Lorraine asked like she's heard the most absurd thing. "I was supposed to be the new CEO of PatelCorps, but instead it was handed to you, Why? You were the biological daughter. They adopted me when they thought they couldn't have kids, and voila, you appeared and ruined it all! It was all supposed to be MINE!!" She yelled out loud.

Leslie was breathing heavily and shook her head. "I didn't know you felt that way, Lorraine. You could have..."

"Told you? Because that sounds okay in your ears? Or you're gonna give me everything that I want?" Lorraine questioned in anger.

"Lorraine..."

"Leave this house." Lorraine dismissed, pointing at the door.

"What?" Leslie blurted out.

"This house now belongs to me, everything belongs to me, so when I tell you to leave, you leave." She said with anger flaming in her eyes.

Leslie was short on words to say. All she could do was stare.

Lorraine chuckled darkly. "So, you want me to do it the hard way, ah?" She dragged Leslie's hand unexpectedly and walked her toward the stairs.

"What are you doing, Lorraine?" Leslie asked as she was forced to walk and then they both stopped close to the stairs with her breathing heavily. "Are you pushing me out of the house? My own father's house?"

Lorraine chuckled. "A shock, right?"

Marcel walked toward them. "Maybe we should let her give birth first."

Lorraine looked at him in disbelief. "Give birth? Who said I needed the child, Marcel? It was a means to our plans and it has served its purpose."

Marcel sighed. "It's still mine, Lorraine."

Lorraine shook her head. "Any child that's gonna be yours will be coming from me and no one else." She uttered with a hardened gaze and looked back at Leslie.

She felt like a fool at that point in time. Realizing all these while, she was used. Her pregnancy was also planned. It was all baffling. Her own sister and a man she thought loved her. It was all planned. The coincidence of how they met, everything. Her hands tightened into fists as she boiled in anger and resentment.

"Leave, Leslie. This is no longer your father's house but my house. I do not want you here."

Leslie frowned. "How can you be so heartless? After everything..."

Lorraine grabbed her hand and almost pushed her down the stairs, thankfully, Marcel stopped her as she was about to slip. Leslie was in shock at that moment, her heart beating painfully in her chest.

Lorraine pushed Marcel off Leslie and dialed some numbers. "Since you want it the hard way, then, I'm calling security to drive you out of my house."

Leslie looked at her in disbelief, the hatred oozing out of Lorraine toward her. It was like they were never sisters. For twenty-one years she's been with her, it was like even the love she felt from Lorraine was all fake.

She heard the door downstairs open and she turned, seeing the security was different from the one they had. "You changed them?" Leslie noticed, looking back at Lorraine.

"One thing about being a boss. You have the authority to fire anyone." Lorraine said with a smirk written on her face.

Leslie blinked and looked at the both of them. She didn't know what to do. She was helpless.

"Take her out," Lorraine ordered the men behind Leslie.

She quivered as she felt their hand on her hands, her eyes glaring at her so-called sister and so-called Fiancee.

"Wait..." Lorraine stopped them as they were about to turn. "Hand me the ring." She demanded, stretching her hand.

Leslie sighed, removed the ring from her hand, and threw it on the floor. "But before I leave, I need to take my things with me."

Lorraine chuckled. "Your things? Everything in this house is mine. Get her out." She said, before walking away.

Leslie sniffed, her gaze meeting Marcel before she was taken off the stairs and dragged outside, trying to struggle out of their hold, but she couldn't.

They locked the gate against her and her sobbing began. She felt lost at that moment as she stared at her own home. It was unbelievable. Everything that happened was shocking.

How could she have let this all happen? She felt like a fool. She shivered as a sudden breeze passed by her, looking her left and right as she wondered where to go. She had nowhere since she had nothing.

Even everything under her name was given to Lorraine. What kind of a thing did they give to her that made her easily succumb? How didn't she notice it all? How was she so stupid?

She placed her hands on her waist and dragged her legs toward the main road and out of the street. She could try to meet a friend for help in the main time, and try her best to completely wrap her head around what happened.

No matter what, she won't let this slide.

As she walked, getting to the main road, she was getting weaker, trying her best to keep her mind away from it but she couldn't. Her eyes were heavy with tears. She used her hands to cover it, trying hard to control herself from crying, but her heart couldn't take it.

All of a sudden, she heard a screech making her stop on her track, bringing a shock that turned her whole being to jelly.

She froze at the spot, staring at the car in front of her that almost ran her over, everyone around was watching.

A man alighted from the backseat of the car and walked closer to her, but as he got to her, she fainted.

Chapter 3 Saved by a stranger and a prince

Eric Maynard walked into the dining hall which was opened for him, his hand rugged in his pant pocket, arriving at the table before taking a seat.

They were all looking at him, trying to hide the laughter bubbling inside them, especially his stepbrother and sister-in-law.

"And here, I thought you were special." His brother, Frederick joked, chuckling throatily.

He stared at Frederick but still kept quiet. He never once had the time to answer anything that comes out of his brother's mouth.

The big oak door opened once again and his father and stepmother walked in. They all stood up, acknowledging his presence.

His father, Gregory patted him on the shoulder and walked to sit on the master chair, his wife sitting by his left hand, while he was at his right.

Gregory stared at the types of food prepared on the table and nodded, looking at everyone sitting. His wife, two sons, daughter-in-law and cousins from his wife's family who visited the kingdom. "Let's eat." He gave the go-ahead.

They all nodded and began to eat.

Gregory looked at Eric who still kept quiet as usual, but this time, he was thinking. He's got so many thoughts in his mind.

"Is she not awake yet?"

Eric looked at his father. "No."

"What did the physician say?" His father asked.

"She'll be fine," Eric answered.

"And what are you gonna do about her? In my opinion, reject her." His stepmom, Stephanie asserted.

He glared at her. "I never said I needed your opinion."

She just rolled her eyes away.

Gregory sighed. "So what are you gonna do, son? Bringing her here means you're in for it."

Eric looked away and leaned on his chair. "That's my business." He stood up. "If you'll excuse me..." He bowed at his dad and walked out of the hall.

"I think the universe is saying something, my king. I mean how can Eric be blessed with a human mate who's even with child?" Katherine pointed out.

Gregory sighed and picked a fork of beef, chewing it, and gulped it, before looking at her. "Let's just wait to see how things pan out."

Meanwhile, Eric sat on a chair in the training ground, with his right leg on his left, his hand buried in his pocket, watching the fields as his guards trained and beat themselves up. He watched with his face void of any emotion.

"So, I got information for you. Thankfully, I was able to find you."

Eric looked up at his second in command, Levi Walter, his soon to be Beta and a guy he trusts, even though he doesn't show it. "What information?" He asked, his gaze going back to the guards.

"Vanessa came to me. She said your...your mate is awake."

Eric blinked and looked at him, then he nodded. "Okay."

Levi equally nodded. "Yeah."

Eric lowered his gaze, and let out a sigh before standing up. He walked back into the mansion, up the stairs, before arriving at the room he kept the girl in.

Entering in, he locked the door shut, she already sat up, looking confused and scared which is expected since she doesn't know where she is.

"Who are you?" She asked, staring at the tall, black-haired unfamiliar man, his eyes pale-blue, he was wearing a grey shirt, his muscles obvious, and black trousers.

Eric nodded at the fair question and walked up to her. He sat on the bed, facing her. "I saved you."

Leslie lowered her gaze remembering the seconds before she fainted. "Oh." She looked at him. "I'm...I'm so sorry. I must have inconvenienced you."

He shook his head. "No. It's fine."

She looked around the room and behind her at the window. The place was unfamiliar. "Where is this place?" She asked, looking back at him.

"My kingdom."

Her brow raised. "Kingdom? Weretopia?" She asked, knowing it was the only kingdom in the country.

He nodded. "Yeah."

"I...I thought it was out of bounds from outsiders." She wondered out loud.

He nodded. "Well, not to you."

She blinked in confusion, a small frown evident on her face. "What do you mean?"

His eyes dropped on her stomach and back to her pale face. She was beautiful though, her raven straight, silky, long hair, and blue eyes were elegant. "You...must be hungry. I will get someone to get you something to eat." Then he stood up.

"Who are you?" Leslie asked, looking up at him.

He sighed, realizing they haven't been introduced. "Eric Maynard."

Her eyes widened. "Wow. The prince, am I right?"

He nodded. "One of. And you are?"

"Leslie Patel."

He narrowed his eyes at her, hearing the name somewhere. "PatelCorps." He uttered.

She nodded, sadness engulfing her. "Yeah."

He equally nodded. "I'll get someone." He said, before walking out of the room.

Leslie let out a loud sigh and tried to move away from the bed but she felt a sudden overwhelming pain in her lower back, causing a groan out of her, with her teeth gritted as she tried withstanding it.

She felt shivers down her spine at the feeling and decided to just relax back on the bed, her back resting against the headboard.

Her eyes wandered around the room, it was big, just like the room she had. She closed her eyes shut, remembering everything that happened. It felt so painful. Her family legacy just like that was gone from her hands.

She was left without anything in the span of just one day.

The door of the room opened causing her to open her eyes weakly. She saw a lady walking in and two others dressed like maids. One was carrying a tray of food in her hands, while the other one was holding a beautiful blue gown and walked to drop it close to her on the bed.

She wondered what was happening. She wasn't even a visitor but an inconvenience.

The lady which seem to be of some kinda rank walked closer to her with some kinda pride. "I'm Vanessa, your assistant. The prince said I should give you food to eat."

Leslie nodded. "Yeah. But I'll need to freshen up first."

She scoffed. "Duh, we know that. So, get up. We'll show you to the bathroom."

Leslie could tell the rudeness in the girls' voice but she just nodded, not wanting any trouble. After all, she's not in her territory.

She removed the duvet cover from her legs and finally sat up from the bed, Vanessa staring at her with a frown face on. She looked at the servants. "Lead her to the bathroom and help her with her bath."

"I think I can help myself, thank you."

Vanessa looked at her and nodded. "Suit yourself then." She said without care and looked at the servants. "I think she knows what to do, one of you remains here, the other one, follow me," Vanessa ordered and left the room.

Leslie walked toward where the bathroom obviously is and proceeded to have her bath.
