The journey of a girl named Selina Cortez and how she changed her world

Chapter 1 The beginning

Selina watched her lifeless body from afar. She wondered how it all ended. Her life had been short and full of misery not untill she was knocked down by a car.

Selina had grown up in an average family. She had an elder sister named Mitchell and a younger brother named Juan.

The Cortez family was a happy and united family. They enjoyed peace untill death took their father Andre Cortez. That was when the family trauma started.

They lost their balance as a family and everything fell in.

Selina was just eight when her father died. She had to go through school without a father. She wished her father could be there for her but he wasn't.

Mrs Cortez had to struggle to provide for her children and this drive her to prostitution.

The negativity around Mrs Cortez influenced the children in such a way that they involved themselves in illegal acts so they would make ends meet.

All this while they prayed to The Author for His help but none came so they all gave up hope on Him.

Selina grew up in her own world. She carved out a world of her own from the one the Author put her in. She lived a silent life watching all that was going on but not involving herself. She grew up into a very beautiful lady, got a respectful job and lived her life in safety - or so she thought. At the age of 20, Selina got her apartment and thus moved out of her family's house where her family were wasting themselves and that was where she met Andrew the man who ruined her life.

Andrew was Selina's neighbor and close friend. Over the time. Their friendship developed into love and they planned to get married only for Andrew to dump Selina in the day of the wedding.

That almost killed Selina. She was emotionaly traumatized for the rest of her life.

She tried reaching the Author but it all felt like her prayers were blocked.

All was terrible for Selina and she endured till the day she died.

The day she died, She was trying to cross to get other side of the road. She didn't inspect the road througly before crossing.

A car out of nowhere lifted her from her from the floor and she landed with a terrible clash which killed her instantly.

Selina tried to get the attention of the people around but she couldn't. They ignored her like she wasn't even there.

Whenever she tried to touch them, she just went through them like smoke.

Selina didn't understand what was going on. It was like she was invincible to others.

Suddenly, she started floating upwards like an invincible force was carrying her. She tried all she could to stay down but she couldn't. She kept going up till she passed the clouds. She continued upwards straight towards the stars.

Selina found herself in a beautiful garden. The place was filled with peace and beauty. She looked round for anybody but she saw none.

Where was she?

Selina had forgotten about all that had happened to her in Earth. All her sorrows seemed to have passed away.

The place couldn't be described with words. Trees of different kind filled the place

Had she made it to Heaven? She asked herself. Why would a sinner like her make Heaven, she had read in the book where the Author said Heaven is for the righteous only.

"Do you like this place?" a voice asked from behind.

Selina turned to see who it was and she saw a blonde man with silver hair and huge golden wings.

"Who are you? " Selina asked him while scanning him with her eyes.

"I am Shemuel, one of the glorious sons of the Author. " He said.

"what is this place?" She asked him again.

"This is paradise, an eternal place for wearied souls like you." Shemuel replied

"Can I see the Author?" She asked.

"No, even I have not seen him."

"Then how do you know he exists?" she asked him.

"Faith!" He replied."What you humans lack."

"So we should serve a Creator whom no one has seen? Sorry but isn't that the same with Idolatry?"

"The Senior sons of the Author have seen him."

"But you haven't." She queried him. "That's fascinating."

"Why do you wish to see him?"

"So I can ask him to explain why he let my life be a terrible one." She replied. "For the fun of watching it all?"

"The Author writes in mysterious ways." He replied before disappearing.

Selina looked round her, all the joy was gone now and reality had dawned on her. She needed to get out of here.

Selina strolled round paradise, looking for a possible escape route. She couldn't stay there anymore. She noticed some places guided by the sons of the Author.

Selina couldn't help but notice a large gathering of souls like an announcement was being passed to them.

A man approached Selina. "who are you?"

Selina replied. "I am Selina."

"I have been watching you and I know you have been searching for something. What is that? "

Selina looked at the man Wondering if she could trust him.

"I do not know you, so I can't tell you."

"Then it's something illegal, let me help you. " the man spoke. "please."

"I need a way out of here."

The man scoffed. "So you are trying to escape paradise?"

"Are you helping me or not?"

The man was silent.

"I knew it." Then she walked away.

Selina found herself in a room furnished with gold.

"Where am I?" She asked herself.

"A safe place. " A voice replied.

She turned her back and saw the man seated on a chair.

"Whatever we say here can't be heard by the Author's sons. "

"So you will help me." She said.

"About that, escaping from paradise would make you a fugitive and everything that the Author gave life will seek you including the Author's sons."

"Just do it." Selina replied. All she could think about was leaving Paradise. She couldn't or rather didn't see the consequences.

"Very well, " The man drew a circle on the table. He took a leaf which glowed and sliced it. He cut himself and let the blood drip on the circle. He chanted some things."

"Like every other thing created by the Author, Paradise also is flawed. " he put the sliced leave in the circle and it started spinning. Selina was shocked at what she was seeing.

"Time to go." the man said.

Selina found herself standing in he middle of a busy road. A car driver saw her and tried to avoid hitting her and thus ran into a moving truck.

The man got out of the car but Selina was nowhere to be found

Chapter 2 Mitchell

The Charles family were celebrating the eighth birthday of their youngest daughter Chloe. They had just cut the cake and shared it for the family members.

Little Chloe walked up to Daddy and asked. "daddy, I have a request. "

Mr Charles lifted Chloe from the floor.

"Tell Daddy your request and he will make sure he does it."

"Really?" Chloe asked him.

"Daddy never goes back on his word, does he?"

"Okay Daddy. I wish you would take some of the cake to the Petersons next door. "

Mr Charles was not pleased with this request at all. The Petersons were a creepy family of two old couple and a teenage daughter whom is hardly seen. Mr Charles knew he couldn't go back on his words.

Mr Charles dropped Chloe and said. "Let me go cut some cake for them." He headed straight to the fridge.

Mr Charles entered the Petersons yard. Goose bumps surfaced on his skin. He was kind of scared even as a man the place gave him the creeps. The staircase leading to the balcony creeked as he stepped on it. The goosebumps surfaced again as he knocked on the door.

No answer came from within. He tried knocking several times but no answer came. Then the strangest thing happened.

The door opened itself. Mr Charles was scared but curiosity got the better of him. He stepped in and the door closed behind him. He tried all he could to open it but to no avail.

"Come!" A voice spoke from a dark room.

Mr Charles dropped the cake. His arms were trembling, his pulse racing.

"COME!" The voice said with anger this time.

Like he was enchanted, Mr Charles walked into the dark room.

What was heard next was his scream.

Mr Petersons got home and was surprised to see blood everywhere in his house. What had happened? He followed the blood to whatever was left of Mr Charles. Only Mr Charles shirt remained and Mr Peterson recognized it.

"What a poor soul." Mr. Peterson said out of remorse.

Selina was confused on what to do next. Going to her family might put them in danger. She reminisced on this as she walked down the alley.

People were moving about minding their own business. None even took notice of her or recognized her as the girl who appeared in the middle of the road.

Selina took a curve which led her to the open fields.

She sat down trying to clear her head. What had she done? Did she just escape from paradise? It was all still like a dream to her.

Who was that man who helped her? Maybe he was a rebel son like Sirach or maybe he was just a soul like the others in paradise.

She felt like praying to the Author for direction but she restrained herself by making herself believe that the Author is a Creator who doesn't care about the world.

The sun was going down and She needed a safe place to sleep. She got up and started walking. She was embarking on a journey of no destination.

Selina had not gone far when she heard howls coming from some metres from where she stood. She looked up; it was a full moon and this meant that the Werewolves were already transformed. Her being outside by this time outs her in grave danger. Selina quickned her steps.

She had not gone far when she heard a growl behind her. She didn't need to turn to check what it was, she already knew what they were. Selina ran with all her might hoping to outrun the Werewolves but that were faster and had better night vision than her

A wolf pounced on her knocking her down. She fought to break free but she couldn't. Was this going to be her end? She thought as the wolf was going for the bite. Suddenly a loud gunshot was heard. It sent the wolves running. Selina just laid there unconscious but before she passed out she saw her rescuer an old man with grey hair and a rifle in his hand. Then she passed out.

Selena opened her eyes slowly. The first thing she saw was a tiled roof. Where was she? She asked herself while trying to recall what had happened.

First, she recalled the Werewolves attack and then her savior. Is this his place? Or someone's.

Selena tried to get up but she felt a sharp pain coming from her right arm. She checked the arm. It was bandaged because of the Werewolves scratch.

A man walked in holding a tray on which there was a glass of orange juice and a plate of hot bean soup.

Selena recognized him as the man who saved her.

"Oh! You are awake." Said the man.

Selena took note of the man's physical features; His hair was grey indicating that he was full of years, his eyes were swollen out of their sockets.

The man dropped the tray on a shelf close to the bed where Selena lay.

"Thank you." Selena said as she grabbed the cup of juice.

"What was a young girl like you doing out that late? " He asked her.

"I can't explain." she replied. "You won't believe me"

A loud scream came from the next room.

The scream made the man feel uneasy and Selina took note.

"Please, excuse me. " The man excused himself and left.

Selina was invited to have dinner with the couple in the dining room.

The couple were glad to have someone live with them. According to the story they told Selina, nobody associated with them.

"Once again, we are glad to have you with us, Selena." Mrs Petersons said

"Thank you." Selena replied. She felt grateful for their help and kindness.

Selena laid on the bed thinking of her predicament. Had the sons of the Author already found out of her escape? She then thought of her family. Selena knew that going back would put them in harm's way.

Selena was distracted by the same scream she had heard earlier. What or where was it coming from?

Selena stood up and left the room. She walked through the passageway heading for the source of the screaming. Luckily for her, the Petersons had gone to church.

She got to a room whose door was locked. She tried opening it but she couldn't. After series of tries, she gave up and was about heading back to her room when the door mysteriously opened.

The interior of the room was dark. Selena stepped in. "Hello, is anyone in here?" She asked. She walked further in. The door bolted itself after her.

She ran to the door and tried opening it but it was bolted.

Selena heard croaking sounds behind her. She was scared to turn back knowing she might find something horrible there.

She felt a hand on her hair. Before she knew it she was landing on the floor with her back.

Then she caught sight of the thing, it had the shape of a girl who's just reaching adulthood. Her hair were all standing, her eyes red for blood and her clothes stained with blood.

The creature was about pouncing on Selena when something invincible flung it towards the ceiling. It tried to come for her but it was flung towards the wardrobe this time.

The Creature tried to get up but it couldn't. Then something fascinating happened; the creature face became normal. Selena was shocked at this.

"Where are my parents?" She asked Selena.

The Petersons entered the house holding a Bible in their hands. Mrs Petersons dropped hers when she saw her daughter looking normal and sane.

She ran and hugged her daughter.

"Mitchell, you are back." She said with tears in her eyes. "The Author has finally answered our prayers."

The father also was happy. "How did it happen?"

Selena came out. "We don't know."

The Petersons were surprised to see her.

Selena noticed the shocked expression on their faces

"What? Were you expecting to find a dead body?"

Mitchell let go off her mother. "You both promised me you wouldn't provide food for that demon." She sighed. "I trusted you both and you let me down."

"We had to, cause we would have lost you if we didn't." Mr Peterson replied.

"YOU ALREADY LOST ME THE DAY I GOT POSSESSED!!!" She yelled. "You had to sacrifice innocent souls just for your selfish interest."

"We are sorry." Mrs Petersons apologized.

"Sorry won't bring back the innocent souls you killed." Mitchell replied. "You both are worse monsters than the demon in me." she stopped talking and cried out in pains. "He's trying to take back control; I can feel him."

Mrs Petersons tried to help her but Mitchell told her to stay back.

"Bring me a bowl of salt, water and a knife." Mitchell requested.

In a matter of minutes the things were ready.

Mitchell poured the salt in the water and cut herself with the knife allowing her blood to drip into the water.

"With this I exorcise every demon in me." She drank the potion. At first it seemed nothing had happened then she started crying out blood from her eyes. Her ears were bringing out blood and. Her nostrils also brought out blood. Then a huge figure jumped out of her. The lights went off instantly.

Mrs Petersons tried to find a way to hide herself. Suddenly she felt a hand on her leg dragging her into the darkness.

Mr Petersons was going for the door when a force held him and dragged him back. He cried out his daughter's name as he was being dragged.

Mitchell was at the door with Selena.

"Shouldn't we help them?" Selena asked Mitchell.

"They fed him with souls and that made him grow stronger than he was when I was possessed. They deserve what they are getting and beside that there's nothing we can do to help them."

The girls went out of the house and locked the door behind them.

"What next?" Mitchell asked Selena.

"We go our separate ways." Selena replied.

"Really?" Mitchell chuckled. "So you plan on doing this alone?"

"Do what?"

"Escape the forces after you."

"What forces?"

"I know, Selena; Why do you think the demon wasn't able to harm you?"

"I don't know."

"Every soul in paradise has a mark which keeps darkness away from them." Mitchell replied. "You have that mark." She added. "I know you escaped from Paradise and I know you can't handle what's coming next alone."

"What is coming next?" Selena asked.

"A big change in the game you are playing." Mitchell replied.

Chapter 3 Cupid love

It's half past midnight. This is a time most people go to sleep but the little town of Greenfield was not. Night was day for them and day night. They loved night parties and activities. The nightclubs in the city were so much that a stone throw was the only distance between two night clubs.

Jimmy sat at the counter taking his drink. He was in a very good mood that night. He had been promoted in his place of work and his pay increased. He felt he needed to celebrate and thus he found himself in the bar.

Jimmy sighted a beautiful lady dancing with a guy some metres away from him.

He was attracted by the girl's beauty but it seemed she was already taken. He took another sip from the glass cup in his hand.

"You like her, don't you?" Someone asked him.

Jimmy looked at the person who spoke to him. It was an handsome man who wore a black leather jacket and blue jean. He had blue eyes and a full hair which was properly combed.

"Excuse me? " Jimmy spoke.

"I mean you like the girl, don't you? " He asked again as he sat down and requested a drink.

Jimmy scoffed and replied. "She is Beautiful and all but I can't have her. "

"Why? Is it because of that dude dancing with her? " The man asked pointing to the guy dancing with the lady.

Jimmy scoffed again. "I don't want to start a fight. "

"Well, I think that you should go there and tell her about your feelings "

Jimmy felt a burning desire to have this girl. He couldn't control it do he stood up and went over to the girl.

He dragged the girl's hand from the guy she was dancing with.

"Who are you? Let me be! " She told him but he refused to let her go.

"You are mine, so no one can have you. " Jimmy told her.

Her boyfriend whom she was dancing with intervened. "Dude, she's my girlfriend. "

Jimmy looked at him straight in the eye. "And so what? "

The whole club had gathered round them watching to see the outcome.

Jimmy faced the girl."I don't know what you are doing with this loser, here."

The lady's boyfriend lost his self control and attacked Jimmy but jimmy was smart as he dogged his flying fist and gave him an uppercut which landed him on the floor.

He got up and rushed at Jimmy, then it happened. Jimmy stabbed him to death with his pocket knife.

Immediately he was dead, Jimmy recovered himself and saw what he had done. His hands were full of blood. He looked back to find the man who had advised him but he wasn't there anymore. He was gone. He had foolishly listened to a stranger and look where it had landed him.

Selina dropped her bag in the motel room she and Mitchell had rented.

Mitchell entered with her things.

"Do you think this place is safe enough?" Selina asked Mitchell.

Mitchell unzipped her bag.

"We can't remain in one place for long."

Selina sighed."My life is no worse than it was before I died."

Mitchell slapped Selina's left arm gently. "Don't worry, hopefully help will come soon."

Mitchell left to the bathroom in order to inspect it.

"There's not a single tissue here." She cried out from the bathroom.

Selina was thinking of her family, how she missed them. What would they be doing now? She asked herself. Their usual business, she also replied herself.

Selina was still lost in her thoughts that she didn't even notice when Mitchell walked out of the toilet.

"Didn't you hear what I was saying?" She queried Selina.

Selina was cut off from her thoughts and was back to reality. "Sorry, I didn't."

"There's no toilet paper available in the toilet."

"That's bad."

Mitchell recalled the supermarket they passed by on their way to the motel.

"I think there's a supermarket close by." She searched her bag and brought out her credit card.

"Let me go with you." Selina requested.

"No, stay at home."

"Why?"

"Cause whatever's looking for you out might be out there."

"Is that not dangerous for you also."

"Chiqita, you are the only one they know not me." she opened the door. "And whatever you do, please do not go into that toilet cause you might not like what you'll see."

Selena's faced showed expression of disgust.

Mitchell pushed her trolley to the tissue section of the supermarket. She took all she needed and went over to the counter to pay for the goods.

After scanning her goods, the salesman took her credit card and tried to perform a transaction with it.

"Ma'am, your credit card is invalid." He told Mitchell

Mitchell's face could not hide her shock.

"Why is it invalid?"

The salesman looked at her and smiled.

"What?" She asked the man.

"Its just that asking me a question only you and your bank can answer."

Mitchell calmed down. "So what will I do now?"

"Since you do not have the cash, you will have to leave the goods behind. I'm sorry." The salesman said

A man walked up to them. "Let the lady have her goods, I will pay for them."

Mitchell looked at the strange man. Who was he?

The man offered her a hand shake. "I am Andrew."

Mitchell shook his hand. "I am Mitchell."

"Mitchell, such a fine name for a beautiful lady."

Mitchell found herself blushing, something she had never done before.

"I have to go now. It was nice meeting you, and thanks again." she carried her goods and left the supermarket.

Mitchell met Selina sleeping on the bed.

She silently walked to the toilet in order to clean her mess after which she went to bed.

A loud knock on the door woke Selina up. It was early and the sun was not even up yet. Who would knock on the door if not a supernatural entity.

She tapped Mitchell.

Mitchell sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"What?" Mitchell asked her.

"Someone's at the door."

"Then go get it."

"Who would visit us by this time of the day?"

"I don't know, motel service?"

Selina frowned at Mitchell's reply.

Mitchell noticed it. "Okay! I will go get it."

Mitchell opened he door. She found no one. On the floor laid a package with her name written on it.

She took it in, locked the door and dropped it on the bed.

"What's that?" Asked Selina.

"I don't know." She replied.

She unwrapped the package. In it was a golden necklace. It's pendant was the statue of a baby holding a arrow.

She held it up. "It's beautiful."

Selina was irritated."Who is it from?"

Mitchell picked a note from the package which says; WITH LOVE FROM ANDREW

"Who is he?" Selina asked her.

"A guy I met at the supermarket, yesterday."

"You met at the supermarket?" Selina asked with surprise written all over her face. "That was just yesterday!"

"And so?"

"All I'm saying is that it's a little bit too early and besides you can't settle down."

"Says who?" Mitchell asked with anger written all over her.

Selina sighed. "With the whole supernatural beings saga, you still want to settle?"

Mitchell stood up. "I didn't escape Paradise, you did. So don't drag me into your problems."

"I didn't drag you into this, you offered to be part of this and now you are backing out?" Selina sighed. "Thats so -" She took her jacket and walked out.

Selina entered a bar and sat at the counter. What had just happened? It all seemed bizzare to her.

A man rushed into the bar, yelling."This place's cursed! It's cursed!" Then he ran out.

"What was that all about?" She asked the barman at the counter.

The Barman replied. "That's Earnest Xavier son of Timothy Xavier the mayor of Greenfield. He became like this when his wife suddenly left him for another man. His heartbreak led to his madness."

Selina noticed a little similarity in her story with the man's.

Selina searched the streets of Greenfield looking for Earnest. She felt something had happened to Mitchell that needed attention or else she could be in danger. Finally she found him in a corner of the street living inside a trashbin.

She went over to him but when he saw her approaching, he ran and she chased after him. They continued running till they got to Greenville's scrapyard.

Earnest got tired of running, so he hid himself.

Selina looked all over for him but she couldn't find him. She was about giving up but her instinct told her to check an abandoned school bus closeby. There he was hiding at the last row.

"What do you want from me?" He asked her.

"I just need you to tell me what you know about the curse in this town."

"It's Cupid the pagan god of lust."

Selina had watched movies and cartoons about Cupid but never had she thought of him as a being.

"Cupid? Does he truly exist?" She asked him.

"Yeah, he does and he is in this town."

"How do you know this?"

"Cause I've met him."

Earnest couldn't believe the fact that his lovely wife Charlene just left him like that for that fool who doesn't even have a name. After all they've been through together, he just couldn't believe it. He poured the bottle of whiskey on the floor. Something was wrong, earnest felt it. He didn't believe in voodoo or hoodoo but the situation required him to do so. He was going to monitor that man for any suspicious activity. If indeed the man was using any sort of magic, he would find it and destroy it.

Earnest sat on his car outside the club waiting for the man to show up.

The man stepped out and started heading home. Earnest got out of his car and followed on foot.

Earnest followed him to his house and hid behind the trees outside.

After doing some things, the man left the house seemingly heading for another club.

Earnest entered the house looking for anything suspicious but found none.

He was about going when he found a door in the man's wardrobe.

Earnest opened it and followed the staircase in it down to the basement.

There was blood and human parts everywhere. Ladies parts were all over the place.

"Charlene!!!" He called out.

A weak voice answered. "Earnest, what are you doing here?"

Earnest traced the voice to where she was. Charlene was tied, bruised and left naked.

Earnest could hardly recognize his wife.

"I am getting you out of here, Charlene" he said.

"No don't!" She protested. "He will be mad at me."

"This man is killing you, Charlene."

"He's not. He loves me and I love him."

"Can't you see what he's doing to you?"

"She can't see,or feel any other thing than the desire to have me." A manly voice replied.

"You son of a bitch!" Earnest tried to attack him but with the wave of his hand, the man had him glued to a spot.

Earnest tried to move. "What is this?"

The man walked to Charlene and opened his mouth wider than normal. Something like light escaped Charlene's mouth and entered his mouth.

"Ha, delicious." The man said

"Kiss me," Charlene begged. "Please, I beg of you."

"No,no,no, Charlene," The man replied."We might enrage your husband."

"I don't know him neither do I love him. It is you I love."

Even with the inhuman treatment Charlene was still in love with this man.

"Who are you?" Earnest asked the man.

"I'm Cupid,"

"Cupid As in the pagan god of love?"

"You know those babies with little arrows with a love sign at the edge? That's me."

"I will tell others about you."

"That is the spirit." He said. "Go on and see how many will actually believe in you." He snapped his fingers and Earnest found himself back in his house.

Present Day

"Do you know how to stop this thing?" Selina asked him.

"With the blade of the Author's sons."

"But we don't have that."

"There is another way,"

"Which is?"

"We have to break his bow."

"I don't know but I do know that it will render him powerless for a certain period of time."

"We have to find that bow."

Selina received a text from Mitchell saying she was going out with Andrew.

Andrew led Mitchell into his house. He blindfolded her.

"Where are you taking me to, Andrew?" She asked him.

"To a secret place." He told her.

After some minutes, he untied the cloth from her face.

"Where am I?" She asked him.

He snapped his fingers and within seconds she was tied to a wall.

"WHO ARE YOU?" She asked him.

He was surprised that his charm had started wearing off.

He sat on a chair. "Fascinating. My charm is wearing off quicker than it should." He got up and walked to her. "I think the question here is; who are you?"

"I don't think she has the answer." A voice spoke.

Andrew turned and saw Selina standing with Earnest beside her.

"Look what the cat dragged in!" Andrew exclaimed.

"Your reign in this city is over." Selina spoke

"Is it? Cause I think it just started." He replied.

He snapped his fingers and Earnest disappeared leaving Selina. Then he squeezed his fists and Selina started coughing blood.

"There was a time I was once worshipped as a god. Everyone prayed to me, feared and respected me, but now I'm just a character in children shows. No one even remembers me as the god of lust. The most funniest thing is that they portray me as a naked baby shooting an arrow but the truth is I never had a bow that shoots love into people. All I do is heighten the lust that is already there and I feed from that negative energy they give out and become stronger."

Selina could feel her organs being compressed. She looked up and laughed.

Andrew was curious. "Why are you laughing?"

"He's at your back." Selina said.

He turned back and saw Earnest there. Earnest then stabbed Andrew's eyes with a knife therefore blinding him. He cried out in pains.

"Lust starts from the eyes before the heart. So there is no bow actually, but your eyes." Selina said. "Now you are powerless."

"Not forever, my eyes will heal." He replied. "And then I will come for you three!"

"We will be waiting," She bent close to where Andrew lay. "Please, do us a favour; don't keep us waiting."

They all untied his victims and left him there in pains.

Selina and Mitchell were packing their things because they had to move to somewhere else.

Earnest knocked on the door and Selina opened it for him.

"I just wanted to thank you for your help last night." He said.

"That was something we all benefitted from," Selina replied.

"You are leaving?"

"Yeah, I have to."

"If you ever visit Greenfield again, my place is available."

"Thanks"

He hugged her and then left.

Selina then shut the door and went back in.

"I'm sorry for the things I said to you whe-" Mitchell was cut off by Selina.

"That wasn't you but the Cupid's charm speaking."

"I know but-"

"Uh - uh, let bygones be bygones."

Mitchell stared at her for some seconds. "Thank you."

"You are welcome." Selina smiled at her and she smiled back.
