A lady of 18, possessing black hair made into a bun and wearing a floral yellow gown that seemed a little loose on her, hurries into a restaurant named Melrose sweating heavily. It is about 6: 00 pm and there are no customers in the restaurant which was unusual.
Waiting for her on a seat was her boss, Mr Chuks. He clapped while smirking on seeing her enter the restaurant. The young girl trembled at this sight. She knew she was done for!
"Brianna, what's with you?" said the man in his fifties.
Brianna immediately knelt
"Boss, I'm sorry. Forgive me just this once. I will never come late again" Brianna said close to tears.
"How long will you keep saying that? I no longer need you. Please use the door." Mr. Chuks spoke coldly.
"Boss, please give me one more chance. I will never be late again. I promise! Please, sir, have mercy." Brianna cried but her boss only laughed coldly.
"You know Brianna you are surely funny. You want me to go bankrupt before you understand? What am I saying? Just go! I don't need you any longer.'' the man barked.
Brianna got up slowly and replied with a hoarse voice
"Boss I... I understand... I do. I promise I won't ever appear before you again.'' she then removed her badge and placed it gently on the table.
"There! Boss, I'm leaving. Goodbye" she walked out of the store never looking back.
Mr Chuks sighed and for once more he surveyed the shop with his eyes and gave off a bitter smile.
"Girl, I am sorry but this is the best I can do for you. I cannot let you suffer for no reason. I hope you find a better job. I'm bankrupt and cannot even feed myself well. I hope you don't hate me." Mr. Chuks said as he got up from the seat after putting the badge in his pockets. He then locked up the shop and walked away.

The Parkers' mansion.
This building is one of the best in the city. The parkers are the 2nd richest family in Tivxa city. They own 20 companies that deal with cosmetics and bags. Only one deal on real estate. At this moment outside the mansion, a car pulls over stopping near the gate.
This car looks rather cheap but it is definitely luxurious inside. A young man alights from the car wearing black sunglasses with gold rims. He has curly, short red hair, pale pink lips, and a mole on his neck.
However, his fashion taste is bizarre! he is wearing a tight red t-shirt, black leather jackets, sandals of different colors and brands, and a green hula skirt with black tights underneath. At one glance, you will question this otherwise handsome youth's mentality. His cheap-looking phone rings and he answers the call while chewing gum.
"Hello! Who am I speaking with? Oh! Secretary Layla! I forgot. Right now? Fine! But be sure to answer to me when I arrive" He ended the call quickly and threw the phone into a trash bin.
The majestic black gate, slowly opened and out came a little girl of about 8 years. She has blonde hair of shoulder-length and looks really pretty and is soft-spoken. She happens to be the apple of her parents' eyes. Seeing the bizarre-looking young man, she smiled brightly.
"Big brother! You're finally here as promised. Take me out for a crazy ride. I'm all set." she said with a big smile, fiddling with her white gown. "Don't you dare go back on your words big bro! Big brother?" she yelled to get his attention as he was lost in thoughts again.
"What?" asked the annoyed man.
"I love you. You are the best in the world" she cheerfully said. The little girl excitedly entered the car while the young man shook his head before entering.
Suddenly, the little girl wore a frightened expression.
"What is it now Amanda?'' asked the man.
"Err...em..there are no millipedes or earthworms inside here right? I detest them." the little girl uttered. The young man of 23, sighed.
"In your eyes, am I that disgusting?" he said expecting a good answer from the little Amanda.
However, there was no reply.
"Answer me, Amanda. tell me! Am I disgusting?" the man said again with a tone of anger in his words.
"No...no...no...its... I...no...its...that...you see..." Amanda began to stammer while trying to give a reply to the cold-faced man that she had for a big brother.
Seeing this, the young man smirked evilly.
"Baby Amanda, you know how much I detest stammerers. Just be straight forward, little drama queen." the man said in a calmer tone when he noticed her fear.
Amanda finally calmed down and found the words she wanted to say.
"Okay! Big brother, I'm scared of those creeping animals. They look so scary especially the earthworm and termites." she finally spoke up.
"Thankfully, you hate them and I've got families of them in here. Well, are you still gonna stay or get out?" said the man. It was obvious he wanted her to leave but there was no way his wish would be fulfilled in any way.
Amanda pouted. What kind of Big bro did she have? Doesnt he know how to pet a baby girl? Hmph! she's not letting him have his way this time.
"I won't! I still want a ride. And I know that you won't dare bring them out or Papa and Mama will not let you sleep." the girl confidently replied and folded her arms proudly as if saying 'Do you dare to kick me out?'
Seeing this, the man sighed and started the car.
"Kids are sure the hardest to deal with. Just one little Amanda and I've aged by 30 years. I'm such a pathetic person. Poor me!" The young man thought and then zoomed off, not caring about whoever was on the road just like a mad man.
An elderly couple fell into the shallow drains due to his actions. They began to rain abuses on him but the object of trouble had sped off far, far away from their sight.
Brianna's grandmother's home
The now jobless Brianna, sat on a chair beside her Grandmother who was coughing every 2 minutes. Brianna handed her water in a mug.
"Here Grandma, drink this. Be careful it is hot,'' said Brianna, a worried expression on her face. Her Grandma drank the water carefully and gave it back to Brianna.
''I'm ok now. Er...Brianna why are you not at work today? Or did you get a morning shift or day off?" Grandma asked concerned.
'Now this is bad. How can I tell her I have no job at the moment? She might get a heart attack.' Brianna thought and before answering her grandma.
"Oh yes, Granny! Boss was really kind today. He let me go home to rest tonight" Brianna said with a smile. Grandma readjusted her glasses and lay on the bed again.
"Why do I feel that you are lying to me?"said Grandma.
"Grandma, come on! I'm really fine.I...I mean I still have a job."Brianna defended. Grandma shook her head full of white strands of hair and sighed.
"My child, I know you very well as I raised you. Every time you go late to work. I've always told you not to worry about me.'' she said.
"But Grandma I...I just..." Brianna said in defense again but was stopped by Grandma.
"Ssh! Enough of it. So-...what are you plans now, Brianna?" Grandma asked.
Brianna sighed and shook her head.
"I haven't really thought much about it," she said sadly as her head hung low. Grandma was really worried.
"Brianna, I know you care about me.You don't want to leave me alone but then, I am an inch closer to my grave while you..." *coughs and pats her chest*.
"Sorry Grandma". Brianna pacified Grandma.
"It's ok. But you still have many years ahead of you. Use them wisely.". said Grandma.
Brianna teared up.
"Grandma...I really..." she was stopped by her Grandma.
"You may not be a graduate but I'm sure you can work as a messenger or do any clerical work of your level in a good company. You know being a waitress...I don't like it. Go for something better child'' Grandma advised.
''I've heard you Grandma " suddenly her phone rang. It was an unknown number. She picked the call after some hesitation. She walked to a corner.
"Hello! Who's this? Yes, it's Brianna speaking. How may I help you? What?" Brianna became worried and agitated.
"I'm coming over right now. Listen...listen to me! Sir, please don't touch him. Do you hear me? Fine! Give me ten minutes." Brianna ended the call and then hit the table in frustration
"Hey! That table wasn't easy to buy. Can you please show some mercy to it? It's innocent." her Grandma complained.
"Grandma, I gotta go right now"Brianna picked up her small bag, kissed Grandma's forehead and rushed out of the house.
Grandma sighed.
''Tsk, tsk, tsk. It's a pity! Kids these days" she coughs and then takes off her glasses.
"Brianna, go well in peace." she then picked up a paper fan and admired the anime cartoon on it with a smile.
"Anita, can you see how big our Brianna is now? I don't wanna make life hard for her anymore" she then sighed again as she stared at a picture on the wall giving off a weak smile.
"Anita, I'll soon join you over there," Grandma said in a firm tone. After not a long while, she took a pen and a notebook and then she starts to write.
