Rise of the immortal Alchemist

Alchemy and magic have always been something that people have always admired or feared to have but even amidst all of this, there was a place that was separated from the eyes of the human and it was called The Wasteland.

Wasteland was filled with fairies, humans with supernatural abilities, witches, also alchemy. They all lived there without any kinds of conflicts.

At this time in the human world,

In the small town of Lavender, there lived a scientist August Jones along with his son Arthur Jones, who had a friend named Layla. Arthur is eight-year-old now.

As usual August was spending his days researching during this he discovered Alchemy. ''Arthur come here look what I have found '' he called out. '' What happened dad ?'' Arthur came rushing out.

'' See this I was doing some work on this and this metal it has turned into a little bit of gold '' said August pointing towards his desk.

''What how is this possible this is iron isn't it? how can it turn into gold '' asked little Arthur wondering how this happened.

''Yes, this was gold. So it is possible to turn base metals into gold now as it was told in the myths, then the philosophers stone it also exists which can drink along with Elixir of life which will give us eternal youth and life curing all kinds of diseases, this is miracle '' August said overexcited.

'' What are you talking about dad ?'' asked Arthur. ''My research throughout these years were not in vain after all yes it wasn't '' August said picking up his son on the lap.

'' I am so much close to my goal now yes we will be immortal '' August said . ''pUT ME DOWN I AM GOING TO PLAY WITH LAYLA '' said Arthur struggling between his dad's arms.

'' Okay now go and play '' saying this he put down little Arthur.

''I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO DAD HE'S ACTING SO STRANGE NOW '' Arthur thought to himself while coming out of his house. ''Hey Arthur come here '' said Layla calling out to him.

''How are you, Layla? how's your health now ?'' asked he.

''I AM FINE NOW IT'S ALL THANKS TO THE MEDICINE GIVEN BY YOUR DAD '' Layla replied. '' Great but my dad is becoming strange day by day I wonder why ?'' said Arthur in confusion.

''And why is that ?'' asked she. ''Today a little while ago he was talking about alchemy, philosopher's stone, the elixir of life and what not '' Arthur replied.

''You mean the professor is researching on the ancient myths of the past ?'' asked she. ''Yes, do you think it's possible to bring back dead people to life? and no person can have eternal youth we will all grow up and die someday '' Arthur replied.

''YOu are dumb there must a reason behind all of this is all he's left with now after your mom has gone away '' Layla said looking away. '' Yes you're right after mum has gone away he has gotten himself indulged into more and more research he doesn't cry also '' Arthur replied.

''Your father is the best doctor in this town cause we don't have any kinds of doctors here so don't say anything bad about him or else I will get angry '' said Layla looking away from him.

'Don't get angry at me Layla I will play with you today '' pleaded Arthur.

'' I was just teasing you '' she laughed out.

''Why you after I was so much worried about it I won't forgive you come here '' saying this Arthur ran after her. '' Stop or I will call your dad here '' saying this she was running too.

They both ran up to the hill. ''I can't run anymore let's take a break '' saying this she was lying in the green grass. ''No, I can't stop '' saying this Arthur fell on top of her.

''Hey, what are you doing I am suffocating '' complained Layla. They both looked at each other from eye to eye. '' Hey I have a question for you answer me honestly okay ?'' he asked.

''Okay I will try not to laugh '' she said.

Arthur was blushing a little bit. ''Will you marry me when we are older ?'' he asked with honest and passionate eyes. Layla looked at his eyes and said I won't.

''But why? cause I don't have a mom ? ' asked Arthur getting up. ''That's not it it's because you are not grown up yet first become a grown-up at least eighteen '' said Layla.

'' Eighteen ten years from now on, so then will you accept my proposal ? '' asked Arthur. ''Yes, I will '' replied she.

Ten years have passed after their agreement. Today is Arthur's Eighteenth birthday. August has died the previous year on his birthday. on his deathbed, he said to Arthur '' make my research successful find the philosopher's stone, the elixir of life you have to please '' those were his last words to him.

''I will propose to Layla today '' saying this Arthur was walking towards the flower shop. After looking for a while he bought a bouquet of forget me not along with red tulips and roses.

Then he headed towards Layla's house her mother has also passed away two years ago so she has to handle everything by herself now as her father left her.

It was around evening now Arthur is heading towards Layla's house on the way he bought a ring quite plain but he thought this will be enough to make her fall for him.

He reached her house in ten minutes. ''Hey Layla are you home '' he knocked on the door. Even after knocking for a while she didn't respond then Arthur checked and the door was not locked.

''How could she be this careless to leave the door open '' saying this he went in and again called out her name. ''Hey why aren't you responding ?'' saying this he went to her room.

''I am coming in you aren't changing right ?'' he came in seeing that the door was not locked. He was horrified at the sight of it. Layla was lying on the ground helplessly.

''Are you okay? what happened? please answer me '' he rushed out to her. ''Arthur you are here happy birthday sorry I cannot greet you now '' she uttered.

''You don't have to but why are you like this are you suffocating? tell me '' he said to her. ''I have something important to tell you I don't have much time left to live now I am sorry I haven't said this to you earlier forgive me '' she uttered breathlessly.

''What do you mean by that? do you have a disease or something ?'' asked Arthur.

''Yes this is an unknown disease your father used to treat me but now he's not here to cure me now '' he uttered ''I can treat you tell me '' he said.

''No you can't cause ... your father has told me that I can't live for much longer but because of these medicines I have survived all this while but this year was the last I thought that I would tell you all of this after your birthday but look at me now held in your arms '' she whispered

''But why haven't you told me these before? cause you couldn't trust me ?'' he said looking down''No cause I didn't want to make you worry cause I know that you love me and care for me '' said Layla touching his face

'' I am more hurt by hearing about it now '' Arthur said crying. ''Don't cry please you have to live even without me be strong please for my sake '' Layla said looking at his face

''No please don't leave me please even dad isn't here anymore not my mom you are my sole reason for living now even you are gonna leave me don't please '' Arthur cried out.

''Silly boy even I don't wanna leave you but this is the destiny we all have to die someday that's the cycle of human life '' she said. ''No you can't die I will also die along with you '' said Arthur.

'' No you can't or else I won't be able to die in peace you have to live for my sake for our sake understand ?'' she said looking at him ''How can I do that if you are not here with me ?'' he asked

''You have to succeed your father right? then free yourself from me or else you won't be able to go forward you have to promise you will be successful in line in life and also take care of yourself ?'' said Layla.

''Layla '' he uttered her name crying '' I can't breathe this is goodbye f-for n-now see you again in.. next life '' she said crying.

''I love you I had always loved you '' Arthur cried and wiped the tears off her face and kissed her.

''What's the use of this life but I have to live as I had promised her '' he uttered. He put her down and then put the flowers he had bought for her on his chest and left her house

then he went to his house and sat down on the table his father used to research all dusty cause he hasn't come here since his father's death.

Documents were scattered all over the place all research papers own them looking at the wall remembering all of his memories with her and his father had very few memories of his mom cause he was very little when she died of an illness

He was depressed and doesn't know what to do anymore. ''Why did all of this have to happen to me ?'' he thought to himself blaming himself for everything.

Then moment he felt like that he had lost everything that moment began his journey. He looked around and noticed the research papers left behind by his father. Then he got up and took one in his hands.

He noticed the word ' alchemy ' written on it. '' Alchemy ?'' he suddenly realizes the thing left behind by his father the secret of alchemy, the research which his father put all his life into.

Then he had read all the documents there. He learns about his research and among them he finds his lover's diagnosis, which was done by his father. It was written that '' She had no more time left so he experimented the elixir of life created by him n her, but as a result, her life was more shortened. But this was the only solution that could save her to cure her unknown disease ''.

He was surprised. '' So dad was behind all of this ?'' he uttered. '' Layla I will save you the thing that has killed you it will bring you back to life '' he mumbled. '' I will use alchemy to cure you, wai for me, I will bring you the elixir of life, surely '' he stated.

After that, he began researching alchemy studying and researching about it all night and day. Then one day he finds it on a different shelf where his father used to put his old books while cleaning it he found a book. The title on it was 'wasteland '.

''Wasteland '' he uttered taking out the book from the shelf and reading the first page. After some minutes he was reading through the entire book, .'' So wasteland is a world where mythical things like fairies live? do they exist ?'' he was confused.

Then in the middle of the pages, he found a note. Being curious he unfolded it. There was coordination written there along with a symbol. '' What is this coordination? and this symbol looks like a full moon doesn't it ?'' he mumbled.

Then he began finding the coordinations after a while he found the location it was a place near the lake in Lavender town, it was a mysterious lake flowing for over five hundred years.

''But what do they have there ?'' he asked. Then he started reading the book again. It was written there '' When the moon is full near the lake there is an entrance to the other world once every full moon ''.

'' Is this then this lake is the same one we have here when is the next full moon two days from now on then the entrance will open '' he said.

'' Maybe in that world, I can find the elixir of life then ?'' he said. '' Lyra '' calling her name he went to her. She has been staying there with him. After her death, he put her in a coffin under cold temperature so her body won't compose but can it bring back her lover ?.

'' Lyra I can save you, I can even if your body is no more I can still bring you back by summoning your soul and transfer it onto someone else's body '' he said to her whispering in her ear.

'' I will try everything no matter what it takes '' he said to her. Then he closed the coffin and went back to research wasteland again.

According to wasteland, whoever stays there can gain supernatural powers and there were some records of the philosophers stone and elixir of life which can give eternal youth and life.

Later after two days, it's finally full moon Arthur was waiting for that night. He went out into the evening waiting for the moon by the side of the lake.

The full moon was reflecting the light onto the lake making it glittering that was a full moon. Arthur touched the water surface He could make his hand go in and out without making it wet.

'' So this is the entrance '' he smirked. First, he put his head then, his entire body. On the other side, he saw a world different than the world he was living in.

There were two suns and the sky was connected with the land and the river was also flowing onto the sky. '' Wow,'' he was amazed. '' I had never seen something like this in my entire life '' he exclaimed.

Suddenly someone bumped into him. '' Hey look out mister '' said the man, he had one horn along with a huge body. '' I am sorry '' he apologized.

'' Hey, I have not seen you around here? are you now ?'' asked the man. '' Yes I had just arrived here '' Arthur replied. '' I see then I should take you to the person in charge here Mr. Richard comes with me '' saying this he dragged Arthur behind.

He was not able to say anything in response. They passed the lake. Going towards the central castle-like building. They arrived at the front. Some people were coming out most of them had horns and wings.

'' Let's go inside '' he said taking him in. All were looking at him. '' One woman came up to him saying '' Who's this young man quite handsome ?'' asked she, she had wings on her back.

'' He's a recruit here I am taking him to Mr. Richard '' replied the man. '' I see go then '' she said. We both went along. We came in front of his room. Arthur was feeling quite nervous about what kind of a man that he's going to meet is.

'' I am coming in '' said he entering along with me. '' Oh it's you wombat, what' up ?'' asked the man sitting on the throne. '' Yeah and I have brought another rookie here see '' he said.

''Oh, and who's this young man? and why is he dressed so strangely ?'' asked he. '' I don't know myself '' replied the man with horns. '' Please introduce yourself '' he demanded.

'' I am Arthur, I have come here in search of alchemy and I am a human '' he replied. '' A human how did you come here ?'' asked he be surprised. '' I have come here from the human world through the lake '' he replied.

'' That's why I didn't see you around here before '' asked the man with horns. '' I need to talk with him personally Mr. wombat leave now and don't say anything to anyone about this matter okay ?'' he pleaded.

'' Okay then ''' saying this the horned man left.

'' So Arthur how did you learn about this place ?'' asked the man sitting on the throne. ''From my father he had a book with the title wasteland on it there were the things written there about this place '' he replied.

'' On a book? but how's that possible? who wrote it ?'' asked the man getting up from the throne. '' I think that the writer was ' Evergreen ' '' he replied.

'' Evergreen ? she wrote only two books and one of them is in our library and the other I had it did I lost it somehow ?'' he asked. '' I don't know but my father had it but unfortunately, he has died so I can't ask him anything now '' replied Arthur.

'' So why did you came here even though you are a human ?'' asked the man. '' My father researched alchemy and he wanted to find the elixir of life which can give eternal youth and live along with the philosopher's stone '' Arthur replied.

'' Alchemy? but there's no one here who can use alchemy '' the man replied. ''' Then why was in the book written about an alchemist and a legendary one ?'' Arthur asked.

'' There was one alchemist who had achieved immortality in the past his name was Alexandrite but no one could learn alchemy after him and he had no successor also, then how did your father learn to use alchemy ?'' asked Richard.

'' I don't know he must have learned from the book I don't know '' Arthur replied '' So what do you want ?'' asked the man. '' I want to learn alchemy and wants to gain elixir of life to revive my lover and childhood friend who has died, Layla '' Arthur replied.

'' I see but there's an arena there's a chance that you can find it still will you search for it ?'' asked Richard with a serious look on his face. '' Yes to receive her I will ''' Arthur replied.

'' I understand your will power okay let me tell you something then, no one knows where is alexandrite whether is he alive or dead cause he went to the valley of Death and never returned from there still you want to find alchemy ?'' asked Richard.

'' Yes I have promised her '' Arthur said with a smile on his face. '' I will help you young man welcome to wasteland '' he said excitedly

Mr.Richard then explained everything to Arthur how this world works and about alexandrite. Richard took him to meet other people who can help him, but as he's a human they would be wary or cautious of him.

So he decided to show him to everyone. He sent the word around that he has something important announcement for people at wasteland so they all should gather in front of his place.

Then everyone came. Richard was sitting on his throne. '' People I have called you out here for an important matter, I have a new friend to introduce who came from the human world '' he said.

''A human ''' they whispered. '' No need to be cautious come here '' said he. Arthur came. '' What's this about ? what is a human doing in this sacred place ?'' asked one werewolf.

'' Yeah, answer '' said one fairy. '' Silence, this human is a special one he has the book which has things written about wasteland here that's why I have decided to let him stay here and he won't cause us any harm I guarantee '' he spoke loudly.

'' If he does can I kill him ?'' asked the one-horned man. '' Yes tear him into pieces '' replied Richard. Arthur was quite frightened by all of this but he kept his head high.

'' Why did he come here then ?'' asked one witch. '' To research on al; they '' he spoke. '' ALCHEMY '' they all whispered. '' Are you daydreaming you want to learn alchemy? no one can use it here '' said one giant.

'' But my father discovered it I can too '' replied Arthur. '' Yes as he says his father August did find alchemy so I have decided to help this young fellow, will you all help him and work together hand in hand ?'' Richard asked.

'' I have no problem '' replied the fairy. '' No problem '' the other replied. '' Will someone show him around then ?'' asked Richard. '' Me '' said a squealing voice among the crowd, it was the fairy who was hitting on him earlier.

'' I am counting on you then, Arthur goes along with him than'' Richard said. Arthur nodded and went with her. The crowd all moved eventually. On the way, the fairy asked '' why do you want to learn alchemy ?''.

'' To save my lover she has died '' he replied coldly. '' Such a romantic guy you are, I will show you around let's go '' she said taking his hand. She took him to the guild where there are many people wizards, werewolf's fairies, and magicians.

'' Now we have arrived at the wizard guild where you can meet many people there and make new comrades '' she said taking him in there. When he went in everyone was looking at him.

Surely the announcement must have reached their ears too. '' Hey Mitty where is guild master I have someone to introduce to her ?'' she asked. '' She's now working you can find her in her room '' the woman with horns, looked like she was in her mid-twenties.

'' So he's the recruit I see '' '' she smirked looking at me. She took me to the guild master. When we were about to go in suddenly something came out of the room, it was a wand.

I fell and heard someone calling me. '' Hey open up your eyes, look at me are you alive ?'' a woman's voice asked. I opened my eyes. '' Great you are alive '' she sighed in relief.

'' Where am I? who are you people ?'' Arthur asked in a low voice. '' You are in my guild Wizards guild and I am the guild master, Shelly, am sorry for throwing the wand at you '' she apologized.

'' No it's okay '' Arthur said getting up from the sofa. '' So you are the guild master '' he said, gazing at her intently as she looked quite young. '' Where are you looking at? do you like what you see ?'' she smirked proudly showing her chest.

Arthur looked away '' NO it's nothing like that '' he replied. '' Oh how cute you are, I just love your reaction it's just like how Stella had said '' said Shelly.

'' Oh you are awake now, drink some water then '' said Stella coming into the room. '' Are you picking on him again ?'' asked she. '' I just love it '' replied the guild master.

'' I am also here if you both haven't noticed yet '' Arthur stated. '' We haven't forgotten newbie '' the guild master came close to him and sat beside him. '' So what are you doing here ?'' asked she.

'' He wants to learn alchemy to revive his dead lover '' Stella the fairy replied. '' Alchemy? so you mean that he's the famous boy of the town ?'' asked the guild master '' Yes, he is '' replied the fairy

'' Are you prepared to face the difficulties that might come your way ?'' asked the master. '' Yes I am '' he replied proudly. '' I can see the resolution in your eyes, ok then welcome abroad '' said the master

'' But he's a human I forgot to tell you '' Stella said. '' A human? now that will be tough how will you learn alchemy then? do you have any clue as I know there was only one alchemist here Alexandrite and he's been missing for years '' the master said.

'' I know that's why I will go to the valley of death to search for him Richard said '' Arthur replied. '' You cannot go alone unless you are trained enough '' the master said.

'' So I need to train ?'' asked Arthur. '' Yes, and don't worry I will train you personally there are many people here who can be your training partner here '' she said.

'' I am leaving then you guys talk '' Stella left saying that. '' It will be tough to teach you alchemy but I can teach you magic which can help you in alchemy '' said the master.

'' Don't you worry I will do everything that can help you '' she said hugging him '' And I am one hundred years older so don't fall for me okay ?'' she laughed.

'' I won't '' said Arthur moving away from her. '' I don't know why you feel so much closer to me have we met before ?'' she asked '' How would iI I only came here today ?'' he grunted.

'' I know anyway let's with me I will show you around '' she said taking her hand. '' Attention, we have a recruit welcome him'' said she shooting throughout the whole guild house.

'' Anew face I see '' said one boy, he had dark hair with blue eyes '' Yes treat him well '' she said. '' What's your name ?'' asked he '' I am Arthur '' he replied. '' I see I am Adam I am a magician, what about you ?'' asked he

'' I am a human I want to learn alchemy '' Arthur replied. '' Alchemy ?'' he questioned. '' You heard it right I think he needs to form a party ''she said some people gathered around them.

'' I know Celia, Adam, Stella, Albert and lastly you Noir you all will form a party with him '' the master said. '' I am so excited '' said, one girl. They all came near Arthur. '' Nice to meet you all '' said Arthur.

''HI, I am Celia '' said one long-haired girl, she had blond hair and green eyes. '' I am Adam '' said the dark-haired boy. '' I AM Stella you know me already though '' said the fairy she was short with brunette hair and blue eyes.

'' I am Noir '' said one tiny girl with white hair, shining like the moon, along with purple eyes. '' Albert, will you come already ?'' the master grunted. '' Okay okay '' said one boy with light brown hair curly at the tips, along with deep blue eyes.

'' I am Albert, spell caster'' he said with an annoying face. '' Celia is a witch, Stella is a fairy, Adam is Swordsman, Albert is a spell caster '' the master said.

'' What about that little girl ?'' asked Arthur. '' I am not a little girl am one hundred years old you fool I can erase your existence from this world '' she shouted

'' Calm down, Noir is, her existence is closer to gods in this world she's the god, there's no magic or spell that she cannot use '' the master said. '' And what about you master ?'' asked Arthur.

'' Me? I am well a magician along with giants ability '' replied the master. '' She's the strongest here '' said Noir. '' Yes I haven't been able to beat her yet '' said Adam.

'' Anyway, Arthur can't use anything so you guys will have to train him '' the master said. '' He will go to the valley of death to search for the legendary alchemist Alexandrite '' the master said

'' But no one has come out alive from the valley of death I heard '' said Adam. '' YES, but he has the determination so you have to help him '' said the manchester '' We will be glad to help '' said Celia welcome to the team.

'' I will teach you like a spartan '' said Noir '' I will be glad to you all '' Arthur said. '' Let's find a place for you to stay Arthur '' said Celia' You can stay with us '' said Noir.

'' can I? asked Arthur. '' Yes welcome abroad '' said Stella.
