I couldn't believe my ears when my dad said I was going to the village to continue my education, it was unlike my dad.

"Chief!!!! For God sake, why will Jake go to the village to continue his education" my mum exclaimed.

"dad why will I go to the village, check it out I have no class in the village" I said firmly.

"you all know that I am a titled man, Omeluora one of Itolu Kingdom and I really love my tradition and culture. With the kind of lifestyle Jake is living he doesn't know anything about tradition and culture and I will like him to belong, understand and know his tradition who knows he may end up being a titled man like his father" chief Omeluora said as he laughed in an elderly manner.

"dad what you are saying is meaningless, I don't f-–g wanna belong to any tradition" Jake fired.

"you must be stupid" chief said angrily.

"chief how do you expect him to cope with things there? You know he isn't used to local and unpleasant environments" my mum said trying to convince Chief.

"woman you don't have anything to worry about, he is staying with my mother, I will get him a driver and all that he needs, with the best school"

"well if you say so, I just hope he copes"

"so I will now be left alone" my younger sister cut in.

"not at all my angel, here is lively beside I promise to take you to see him once in two weeks" my dad said.

"OK am OK with that" Cindy my younger sister replied as she continued with her phone.

I looked at every one in the living room as they all succumbed to my dad's decision, I hissed and headed for my room.

As soon as I got to my room, I connected my head phone to my iPhone 6 and started playing my favorite song by LHF benzo to cool off my anger....

The next day was a Thursday, I woke up from my soft bed, muttered some prayers that I never forget to do every morning even though am an arrogant person, and headed to the restroom.

I washed my face and brushed my teeth before relaxing on my bed to play music (am a music lover).

I was still listening to my cool music when a knock landed on my door...

"come in" I said removing my head set

"food is ready" Carole our cook informed

"I will be there shortly" I muttered.

I was about living the bed when a call came into my phone oh it was Hannah my one and only girlfriend. Her family and mine are really close

"good morning sunshine"

"good morning Jake, how was your night" an angelic voice asked

"went well and yours?"

"splendid"

"that's good"

"Jake are you coming to school tomorrow, we were asked to come copy our scheme"

I sighed before answering her

"I don't think am resuming with you guys"

"Jake are you leaving the school for real"

"yea, my dad wants me to school in the village"

*what village??? Jake stop kidding, this isn't April 1st" Hannah said laughing loud

"am serious, you can come over today so we would discuss things"

"sure I will by noon"

"bye angel"

"bye love"

The line went off. I left my room straight to the dining

"where the hell is Jake" I over heard my dad..

"am here" I said as I sat on my chair, they were almost done with theirs

"where have you been" my mum asked

"I was busy upstairs sorting something"

"eat your food" my mum said

My dad was fully dressed in his native attire ,an ogbu agu top, a black trouser with a red cap and his breeds, he was ready for work (that's his normal way of dressing to work or he wears a senator attire)

"Jake I want to inform you that you are living for Enugu tomorrow morning, so you could know your new school and collect your necessary materials to resume school on Monday"

"OK" I said in a low tone "dad by the way what's the name of this new school"

"when you get there, you will know" he took his briefcase and left the dining

I looked at him but was just silent as many things were running in my mind. Minutes later I was the only one left in the dining as I quickly rushed my tea, bread and sandwich.

FEW HOURS LATER===??

"ding dong" the door bell alarmed

I went to check who it was and it was no other person than Hannah

"Hannah!!"

"Jake"

"you look gorgeous"

"thanks dear"

She was putting on a dark blue gown at her knee level with a silver shoe, silver Michael kors Bag and a silver head band and the enchanting perfume she was putting on.

"how is Cindy"

"oh she is not at home, she went out with mum"

"so you are home alone"

"that's it"

"welcome aunty Hannah, what would you like to take??" labake our maid asked

"oh nothing, am OK"

"are you sure" I asked

"yea"

," OK let's go to my room"

"so you are no longer coming to Lambert International School"

"No as a matter of fact things are beyond me, am even living for Enugu tomorrow morning and today will be the last day I will see you till further notice"

"why is your dad doing this??"

"I don't know"

The room was silent for some minutes as I saw tears rolling down her cheek, I held her wiped off her tears and kissed her on her forehead

"I will really miss you" she said

"same here, I will over miss you"

"I want to ask you for a favour" she said suddenly

"what Favour?"

"What?? Favour" I asked

"Promise me you won't leave me for any village girl" Hannah said looking into my eyes

"(Smiling) why would I, am I mad. Hannah you are the only girl I love"

"that's why I love you Jake"

We kept looking at each other, before I knew it we were already kissing, in less than few minutes we were unclad as we made love like never before.

NEXT DAY

Time check ==== 10:43am

I hugged my mum tightly as she was already missing me..

"Jake I miss you so much, I promise to see you soon" she said pecking me

I hugged my sister as tears were forming in her eyes..

"stop crying Cindy, we would see soon"

I bade them good bye as I was already missing home. Sanusi our driver helped me park my luggage into the car while we left for the domestic airport.

Thirty minutes later we arrived the airport after so much questioning from the check desk we finally boarded and about an hour later I was at enugu...

I called my dad and informed him that I was already at Enugu and he said that my unknown cousin is coming to take me. I was still waiting patiently sipping my coke when a call came in

"hello who is this" I asked

"am emeka your cousin am already at the airport, where are you??" he asked in a bass voice

I thought I had bass oo but this one pass me

"are you the one coming to take me"

"yes, your dad sent me"

"OK am inside the airport arrival"

""OK" he said and hanged up

Minutes later I saw a guy, he was not that huge, he was a bit taller than I am and dark in complexion

"are you Jake??" The person asked

"yea Emeka"

"yea.. Wow this is you, I never knew you were this big"

"yea, you are my only cousin I haven't seen tho my dad told me something about you"

"nice Jake, welcome to Enugu the rocking town"

I was a bit pissed off but I already liked the guy, he was jovial, handsome, good looking and smart he didn't look like all this village guys,

"thanks" I said looking around the airport

He helped me with some of my luggage as we left the airport, he stopped a cab

"itolu Christ the savior road" emeka said

"the two of you"

"yes"

"3000"

We parked the luggage into the cab and zoomed off

45 minutes later

"this itolu is far oo" I said while he smiled

"it's just an hour and forty five minutes from here"

"you enjoy long distance journey"

"not really"

"OK.. Are you still in secondary school" I asked him

"yea ss2"

Wow he was in the same class with me I thought

"wow same class"

"yea chief told me"

"did he tell you the name of my school??" I asked furious as he looked at me.

"didn't he tell you??"

"No not at all"

"we are now in same school, almond school of Science (a-s)

"wow... That's your school, hope the school is very conducive"

"you will like it, trust me"

"(looking at him) if you say so"

"tomorrow we would go there"

Some minutes after, we arrived at my grandma compound, I could remember it vividly because I stayed here for a Christmas holiday seven years ago.

We alighted as I brought out all the luggage while Emeka went inside to call grandma..

"neto chukwu, Neto chukwu" my grandmother shouted as she came out to hug me.

I can't remember when last I was called with that name or use the name, I think junior waec though it's my native name.

"good afternoon grandma" I greeted as I hugged her

"how are you my son"

"am fine mama"

"welcome to your house"

Two girls who looked like maid came and carried my bags inside..

"Jake this is your driver, his name is kimkom he will be in charge of taking you anywhere, he is my guy" emeka said

"that's good welcome kimkom"

"welcome sir" kimkom said

"remove the sir and call me Jake"

"OK Jake"

"funny guys"

"but how will I have a driver without car??"

"You don't need to worry the three of us will be going to a near by village to get your car then from there we head to school"

"hmm OK"

"you people should come inside, food is ready" granny said while we all went inside.

Her chef prepared egusi soup with fufu but I opted for eba since that's what am use to. We had eaten half way when I received an alert of one fifty thousand transfer, I knew it was my dad but I just continued with my food....

*From the last scene*

"good afternoon" they both greeted

"Jake are you alright"

"oh yeah am OK" I came back to my senses

"these are my daughters Anita and Jane, Anita here is your class mate and Jane is in SS1 anything you need to understand or know, you can count on Anita"

"oh no problem" I said stretching out my hand for a handshake

"you are welcome" she said collecting my hand after which I shook her sister too

"I hope you are not like your cousin" the principal said referring to me

"(smile) you can count on me" I said still using my evil microscopic eyes to peruse if I could see their internal anatomy

"ma we will be on our way now," emeka said tapping me

"no problem"

"see you on monday" Anita said waving at me

We left the office and joined kimkom as we kept the bags in the booth

"car starting"

"guy so you didn't tell me angels attend this school"

"meaning??" Emeka asked pretending as if he didn't understand what I was saying

"you didn't see the principals' daughter Anita and Jane"

, "see guy better dey ooo, just comot your eyes from those bae oo, them be my girls" Emeka fired angrily.

, " wait emeka I thought you don't do girls stuff"

"for where? Who says that see you can face other girls but stay off those one and mind you, forget all those things principal dey talk if you do anyhow then wait for my rot "

Jesus, I was stunned by his words I thought this was my cousin...

"guy why you dey talk like this na so na because of girl you wan fight me" I did not even know when I spoke pidgin English

"oh City boy so you dey speak pidgin, see ehn I can kill and die for a girl"

"guys it's enough OK stop all this argument. Jake I think you should respect the fact that Emeka knew those girls before you, you can find another girl"

"no be because your papa get money ooo you won come do anyhow"

"it's OK am not interested anymore" I said as things ran through my mind..

We were mute till we arrived at my grandma compound, alighted and went inside after taking my bags while Kimkom parked the vehicle.

Mama wasn't at home, I went inside Emeka and I room where I laid on the bed and started thinking. Later that da, I spoke with Hannah for over one hour before the line went off. That night I couldn't sleep as I was just thinking of Anita and Jane, I really need one of them and it would be nice having Anita who was already matured....

Monday morning

Almond school of Science{A-S}

Kimkom pulled up at the front of the school while Emeka and I alighted, we were not still in talking term as I walked majestically with my white shirt, deep blue trousers and tie, my black blazer, my polo power bag and an Italian black shoe.

As I stepped into the school, almost all eyes were on me. I walked passed a garden and I saw Anita with some other Angels as she was telling them something and they all kept gaze at me.

They waved at me and I waved back. I got to a point and it was as if I was wandering around the school, the school was quite big and beautiful. Suddenly I heard the school alarm ringing I guessed it was for Assembly

"hi" I said to a passing angel, she was fair, and had good body chemistry

"hi " she said and passed me

"ermm ermmm hey I need your help" I stammered

She turned around and looked at me.

"how?" She asked

"pls am a new student of ss2 and I don't really understand myself, what's that alarm for??"

"oh Assembly"

"ohhh can you show me the way"

"sure come with me"

I joined her and we started walking, at a point she started working fast

"why walking fast"

"we would be punished if we get there late"

"wow...."

Finally, we arrived at the hall but the entrance was too crowded, before we could get inside some prefect told us to kneel down for not entering on time

"I told you" she muttered as she bent low.

Over twenty students were kneeling except me...

"hey handsome why aren't you kneeling" one foolish female prefect asked, I looked close and saw her barge "a-s labour prefect"

"I never see this boy oo be like say na fresher"

"tell me three good reasons why I should kneel down" I asked lion heatedly.

"see this idiot ooo" a guy made to slap me but I dodged.

I felt someone tapping, I looked down and saw the girl whom I came with telling me to kneel down.

"like seriously you are the a-s head boy" I said pointing to a fair dude " today is the first day of resumption, and you are already punishing, come to think of it should i grow wings and fly can't you see that here was crowded"

"obey before complaining" I heard some people shouting.

"come who you dey form for, because said you barb style come relax your hair, you dey blow grammar"

They brought cane to flog me thank God for the intervention of the principal

"what's happening here" she asked removing her glasses

"ma this boy refused to kneel down, rather he insulted us" the assistant head boy said.

"from now henceforth, no body should punish or penalize him for anything. Jake go inside".

"thanks but ma, she was with me" I said pointing at the girl I came with.

The principal looked at me for some seconds

"you can all go,"

"thank you ma" they all shouted

I could see the evil look on those silly prefect while I smiled.

"thanks, thanks, thanks, thank you, thank you Jake, thanks, good guy, savior" this was what I was hearing from many students as we all walked into the hall

"thanks Jake" she said

"you are welcome"

"that's the boys line, this is for the girls"

"oh thanks" as I went to the boys line

The Assembly was really boring and dry unlike my former school. Finally, the assembly was over, we all matched out. From no where Emeka approached me

"nice move bro you can have that one, I think she should be good for you" Emeka said smiling as he walked away while I folded my fist in anger..

Almond school of science{A-S}

I kept following those I met in the line where I was standing till we got to the second floor with two big classes. Tagged on each classes were "health Sciences 02" and "engineering Science 02".

I used my brain to understand the information they were trying to pass as I stormed into health science because I want to study medicine..

"hey class this is Jake our new student" Anita shouted from a distance

"hi Jake" about more than half of them came to welcome me by shaking hands

"welcome to almond school of Science, feel free to relate with me" a tall dark guy said

"class we are having biology now let's get down to the lab" someone who looked like their class prefect announced.

I followed three boys who were already talking to me as we went down stairs to the other Aaablock..

Carolus Linnaeus's BIOLOGY LAB ===

"good morning sir" they greeted the teacher politely unlike some school that will all shout in accordance in the name of greeting the teacher..

"good morning" he responded and climbed the podium "how was your holiday" he asked

Some responded well the others kind of still need holiday

"who is that handsome boy over there" the biology teacher said pointing at me (I looked back) we were over 45 students, how did this man sight me

"He is our new student Jake" Anita said.

Hmm when did Anita become my spokesman I thought.

"wow stand up young man"

I stood up feeling pissed off

"what's your name"

"am Jake"

"wow what a nice name, hope you like our school"

"a sort of, today is just my first day"

"good, what do you want to become??"

"a doctor"

"nice career hope you know biology and chemistry very well"

"yes sir"

"can I test you???"

What sort wizard is this man, so you want to fall my hand... I thought

"ermm yea"

"mention the four stages involved in the light phase reaction of photosynthesis"

I smiled within me, I thought the man was going to ask a very hard question

"the first stage involves the activation of chlorophyll, followed by the photolysis of water, formation of nadph and formation of ATP"

"wow" he said

I could hear the whole class clapping for me, I was feeling on top of the world.

We wrote our scheme of work before the period was over. We had other classes till it was break time.

I could see people running to the canteen to purchase different things. I wasn't really in the mood to eat as I stood in the entrance of my class scanning the school. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder..

"oh Anita what's up"

"am cool, you are not looking good why are you alone"

"just felt like being alone"

"no no that's not allowed, see most of the class are talking about you, they liked your charisma and intelligence so try to be friendly"

"(I smiled) I will"

"good so what would you like to eat"

"am not really hungry"

"cmon ok I will buy you yogurt"

"huh"

"it's just a friendly gift" Anita said and walked away

This girl is really kind hearted and d–n beautiful, I will make her my girl weather Emeka likes it or not but come to think of it I also met an angel this morning.

I was still contemplating when I remembered the promise I gave Hannah

"Promise me you won't leave me for any village girl" Hannah said looking into my eyes.

"(Smiling) why would I, am I mad. Hannah you are the only girl I love"

"that's why I love you Jake"

"hey city boy" I heard some voices at my back. I turned and saw Emeka with two other boys

"can we talk" one of them asked

"what do you want" I asked firmly

"just kindly follow us to avoid any scene" the other dude said. Emeka was giving me signs with his head to follow.

I looked around, after some seconds I followed them. They took me to a building that was still under construction in the school as we climbed the stairs leading up..

ANITA'S SIDE OF THE STORY

Ever since the first day I met Jake at my mums office, I really felt something for him. He is handsome, good height, pink lips and a rare kind of iris.

I wish I could date him, he is from a rich family according what my mum told me about his dad but that seems somehow impossible because my present good for nothing boyfriend is his cousin.

I walked to the snacks canteen and ordered for two cups of Supreme vanilla ice cream, after my orders were satisfied I went back to our class to meet Jake. I got to where he was standing but I couldn't find him there again.

"where the hell is this guy"

"excuse me nneka did you see Jake"

"thought I saw him here some minutes ago"

"yes"

"pls I demand an answer now, why did you guys bring me here"??

"calm down bro, this place is one of guys hang out so no fears you are save we just want to talk"

I glanced at Emeka in an evil manner

"so guy what's with you and Anita" one of the guys asked me as he sat in the window of the uncompleted building

"(stammering) Anita is just a friend and also my classmate "

"friend and classmate you say"

"yea"

"good, you may not know us, maybe in a general class you will. We are engineering science students, we have heard from you let Anita only be your class mate and nothing more" he patted me on the back while they left...

"So Emeka is this mean about girls? I really need to fear and stay away from this guy because he is capable of anything" I thought to myself before leaving the uncompleted building to my Class.

I went to my class as the break was already over and they were having mathematics at the general class hall

"Jake I have been looking for you" I heard from behind as I was bringing out a book for maths. I turned and saw Anita.

"what!!!" I sparked "leave me alone and don't disturb me ever again nonsense"

She wore a confused and questioning face....

"Jake"!!!
