Kaiden's Pov

" Kaiden can't you do anything right you worthless excuse of a man" his mother's in-laws shrill voice rang from downstairs. He sighed as he stood up from scrubbing the bathroom floors and walked down into the foyer to see what was wrong.

As he descended the staircase he saw his mother-in-law standing at the bottom of the stairs with her arms crossed a haughty and furious expression on her face while tapping her heels against the tiled floor. " Mom what's wrong?" he asked hesitantly.

She fumed "Don't you mom me you know very well what's wrong, why hasn't the kitchen been cleaned and the trash been taken out," she said. Kaiden opened up his mouth to say something but she raised her hand cutting him off.

" Look I don't want to hear it, just do your duty because Mr.Knight will be over here soon," she said before she turned around and walked away. Kaiden sighed as he walked into the kitchen and after rolling up his shirt sleeve and began doing the dishes.

As he scrubbed the dishes he began thinking of his life, he's been in an arranged marriage with Clara for three years at the request of his grandfather. His grandfather made his final wish on his death bed that wished his grandson to learn how to be a good husband before he took over the family.

At the beginning of the marriage, both he and Clara were both happy, but a year later she became cold and distant towards him. She would always be on her phone and would always accuse him of being a controlling husband if he tried to speak to her about it.

He knew it was her families doing. Her family was rich and they had objected to her marrying a poor useless man that had nothing but his pretty face instead of a rich and influential man but the head of the family shut down their protests saying that Kaiden would marry Clara no matter their objections.

At first, his wife's family treated him well, But after the old head of the family died and his gold digger wife took over as the head of the family the abuse started. They forced him to work along with the maids and butlers, they abused him both mentally and physically.

But despite that, he's kept his head down and trudged forward because of his blind love for Isabel. As their family fortune grew so did their disdain for him and they redoubled their efforts to chase him away.

Even going as far as encouraging Clara to have an affair with Xavier Knight. The Knight family was one of the richest families in the country with a net worth of over 30 billion and despite their bests efforts Clara refused to divorce Kaiden.

This infuriated her family but pleased Kaiden who thought despite his wife's apparent coldness of late towards him she still loved him and perhaps there was hope for their marriage after all. As he finished washing the dishes and was cleaning the kitchen he heard a commotion at the gate and saw the security guards letting in a green Porsche.

Kaiden scowled as he looked at Xavier's car as it drove up the driveway towards the Mason family mansion. He watched as Xavier stepped out of the car wearing a custom grey suit before he closed the door and then strode towards the mansion.

He could hear both his in-laws as well as his sister-in-law greeting Xavier at the front door. Since they had to pass the kitchen on their way towards the living room. They lead Xavier through the kitchen right past Kaiden.

He smirked at Kaiden as he strode through the kitchen his mother-in-law hooked her arms through his while explaining how pleased she was that he was there. She then noticed Kaiden watching and her mood soured. " What are you just standing around for go and wake up Xavier and inform her that Mr Knight was here," she said.

Giving Kaiden one last glare she leads Xavier out of the kitchen as he shoots Kaiden a shit-eating grin accompanied by a wink. Kaiden clenched his fists in anger before he took a deep breath.

Regaining his composure he packed up a quick lunch for his wife and a tray and then walked towards her room. Knocking on her room door he opened the door and saw that Clara was still asleep in bed.

She was an incredibly beautiful woman with long black hair, long lashes, and ruby red plump lips with a curvaceous figure. As she opened her eyes she saw her husband closing the door while holding a tray of food for her. " What are you doing here?" she asked.

He walked down the hallway passing by his old room for the final time as he walked towards the foyer to leave. All the maids and butlers moved out of his way seeing the stormy and cold expression. He thought he would have left without incident that was until he heard his mother-in-law's shrill voice.

" Kaiden how dare you make my daughter cry, who do you think you are you, you ungrateful bastard, if it wasn't for us taking you in you would be homeless now apologise and go upstairs and clean the mess you made at once," she said.

" As I told my soon-to-be ex-wife to go clean it your fucking self I'm not one of your servants". She gasped as she looked at him. In all the years she's known Kaiden she's never heard him curse one so it surprised her to hear him curse.

" Y..you can't speak to me this way!" she said. " Well, I just did," he said before stepping out the door and closing the door in her face. He could hear her chasing him out and having a temper tantrum but he didn't care anymore.

Taking out his phone he dialed a number that he hadn't dialed in years. After his call was answered he finally spoke.

Kaiden's Pov

Kaiden stares out the window blankly as he toyed with the signet ring of his finger that was returned to him as soon as he stepped into his vehicle.

After his call with his sister Kaiden quickly found himself in the back of the black Mercedes Benz as he was being driven toward one of his family's villas in the city. Instead of his usual shabby clothing, he was now dressed in a custom leather suit with a golden watch on his right wrist.

But the most significant change was that he removed his blue contact lenses. After so many years he was finally able to show the true color of his eyes which were a beautiful violet. His family has always claimed that they descended from gods and their unusual eye colors proved this.

" Mr Reign's we'll arrive at the family compound soon," his driver said looking up at him in the rearview mirror. Kaiden nods not saying and as he leaned back into his seat with a sigh. It's been three years since he last saw anyone from his family.

He stepped away from the flustered maid and then turned towards Thomas who waited patiently. " Shall we continue Sir?" he asked. Kaiden nods " Lead the way," he said simply. Thomas nods and leads him into the beautiful and luxurious villa that screamed both power and prestige.

Just a few days ago he was dreaming of showing her this view but now the only thing that he wishes to do was make her family suffer. He clenched his jaw in anger he make everyone who looked down at him suffer.

He continued staring coldly out at the villa's hedge maze until he heard a knock on his door. " Who is it?" he called out. " Mr. Reign's I'm here to tell you that breakfast is ready also I'm here to clean your room," the maid said.

Instead of driving towards his meeting with the chairman of the EDM group a global cooperation that a family friend owned. He drove towards the bank so he could check to see how much money was on the card his sister gave him. As he drove down platinum boulevard one of the most lavish and exclusive parts of the city.

She scowls as she looked at him. " I'll have to call my manager to verify this," she said. Kaiden waved his hand nonchalantly. " Go right ahead," he said. Giving him one final scowl she went to her computer and then went to her cell phone telling them about the situation.

Soon an elegant-looking middle-aged man wearing a blue woman's blazer pantsuit. She looked excited coming out of the elevator thinking that one of their largest shareholders where visiting the bank today. But as she got closer she just saw Kaiden standing there dressed like a poor man.

Her smile was instantly replaced by a frown. " What's the meaning of this and who is this?" she addressed the secretary. The secretary clasped both her hands in front of her. The manager frowned " It's obvious he's lying and stole this card, to get one of these cards you have to be a shareholder and our stokes go for hundreds of billions of dollars does this bum look like a billionaire to you" she said.

The secretary looks at Kaiden and then shook her head " No ma'am but I was afraid that he was disguised to look poor" she explained. " Oh please I'm the manager of this branch of the Emerald Bank one of the largest and most powerful financial institutions in the world, and your just a lying thief now I'll give you one chance to admit your wrongdoing," she said.

Thomas picked up on the first ring. " Yes, Mr Raines?". " Thomas I'm here at the Emerald Bank on the platinum boulevard is the CEO present?" he asked. " Yes Sir Mr Cameron is there for a business meeting," he said. Kaiden continued looking at the manager blankly.

" Good patch me through to him," he said. " Right away Sir" He was then connected to the CEO. " Mr Reign's it's good to hear from you again how may I help you?" he asked.

" I'm in the downstairs lobby you have two minutes," he said simply. The man yelped" Right away Sir I'll be there right away" he said. " Good," Kaiden said simply before he hung up. The manager had a teasing and convincing smile on her face as she watched Kaiden.

" Oh this is hilarious your a fantastic actor and liar I'll give you that much, do you honestly think any believes that you just spoke to Mr. Cameron this is priceless," she said causing everyone to laugh.

Kaiden just looked at her simply "You'll find out the truth in a minute" he said. She laughed again " Ok I'll humor you I'll wait and if Mr Cameron doesn't come down in a minute ill have my guards beat you and then turn you over to the police" Kaiden only hummed in response and that annoyed her that he wasn't bothered in the slightest.

She opened her mouth to say something more but before she could the CEO elevator opened and Mr Cameron came sprinting out looking worried. Everyone had looks of shock on their faces as he hurried towards the gathered crowd.

The manager's face went white as she saw the Ceo marching towards them. She then took a step back and then looked at Kaiden.
