"Emily, you should go from here now, please listen to me, please run Emily... I am begging you",

Emily could hear her brother shouting, but her body was numb, she didn't know how long it had passed, the only thing she could see was her father was dead. He was lying in front of her eyes.

Jack, Emily's brother held her tightly and shook her, to bring her back to her senses:

"Emily, we can't do anything now, there are many of them, they want to kill us too, we have to rush out.

Tears welled in her eyes, She didn't want to leave without her father, Jack pushed her : "Take mom and go now". he yelled.

Emily held her mom's hand, because of the shock, clearly her mother, Rosie Roger was not in her right frame of mind. Emily pulled her mother with her and ran towards the bushes.

Emily turned and tried to see why her brother Jack was not following them, he had got injured while protecting his mother and sister, Jack was no where to be seen.

Emily grew worried about her brother. She wanted to hurry back and see what was wrong with her brother, but she couldn't leave her mother alone here.

It started to rain cats and dog, Emily's eyes were red, she hugged her mother, who still was not in her senses, and started crying crazily: Why god why ? How do I live without my father.

Emily was father's princess. For everything in her life she would involve her father.

"How am I going to live without you dad? How?" Emily sobbed.

Suddenly Emily stopped crying and something crossed her mind, she couldn't figure out, who was trying to kill her family and why?

"Why will anyone want to kill my father?" Emily tried to rack her brain to remember, did her father have any enemy? Emily thought.

When Emily was busy thinking about the murderers, she noticed there was a car a little away. She tried to see who was inside the car... but it was not very clear because of the heavy rain.

Suddenly she saw a mark on the car, " I have seen this mark somewhere... where????Emily thought.

"Oh yeah I remember now, it is the trade mark of XZ company... the CEO's car"

Emily was shocked by thought.

That was a rare mark, Emily had seen that mark on James car, she had asked her father about the mark once. So she remembered very clearly about that mark.

"Was Mr. James, the CEO of XZ company behind all this? But why? Why did he do that? My father has been working under him for year . How can he do this to my father. "

Emily's eyes turned fierce in anger... no other thoughts crossed her head , except for one ... "REVENGE".

Emily wanted to avenge her father and brother who was missing from that place.

" What did they do to him? Where did they take him?" So many thoughts came to Emily's mind. How she wished , What happened today was a bad dream.

Emily did not dare to move from that place... she didn't know how long they had been hiding there.

Once the rains stopped, Emily slowly got up and went towards the place her father had being lying. But there was no one to be seen.

Emily felt frustrated. Even her father's body was not there. "Where did they take my father and brother?" She thought.

She turned towards her mother, she wanted comfort from her mother: "Mom, mom" Emily touched her mother. But there was no response from her mother.

Her mother was looking fine, but why wasn't she responding, rather she was just looking here and there.

Emily was very worried: " within a day how my life is changed." She cursed James... " James, it's because of you, I don't have my father and brother. I'll surely take revenge one day. I'll become stronger and make you pay back for what you have done today".

Emily was wondering where she should go, if she goes home, it can be dangerous, because she couldn't think of a reason, why they killed her father. 'May be they wanted to kill her also.' Emily thought.

After thinking for a while she decided to go to her bestie's house. Josie, in all happiness and sadness it was only Josie, with whom Emily could share all her secrets.

Josie too cared a lot about Emily, They were friends for years. When Emily was six years old, they had shifted to Josie's neighborhood, since then Emily and Josie were best friends.

Before two years Josie's father got transferred to another city. It was a two hours journey to reach Josie's house. But she didn't have any money with her, she neither had a phone with her to contact anyone.

That morning a lots of black dressed men had rushed in to Emily's house with weapons in their hands.

The men tied Emily's hands and mouth, same they did to Emily's father, brother and mother.

Emily had been struggling to get free from them with all her strength.

She clearly remembers one of the men shouting: "tie her up properly, if she runs away we all will be in trouble."

Then they took the whole family and pushed them inside a car.

The cars sped off the roads, after sometime the cars stopped. The men asked them to get off from the car.

As they got down one of the men hit hard on Emily's fathers head.

Roger fell on the ground hard... Emily could see her father's head bleeding , she screamed... who are you? What the hell do you need?

Jack, Emily's brother was calm at that moment, he had been thinking the way of protecting everyone. He had managed to untie his hands...

Jack counted the men around him, they were more than six. Jack was a strong man, he had learnt Karate too.

Jack held the man's neck behind him, and with all his force he pulled him in front of him.

All who were present there were shocked at this scene.

Emily, too had learnt a little bit fighting from her brother, she too reached the man behind her, and gave a punch with all her strength on his face.

The man growled in pain.. his nose was bleeding... 'you bitch' he shouted in pain "see what I do now"

Before his hand could reach Emily's hair, Jack had twisted man's hand and thrown him on the ground.

Another man came running with a knife, Jack didn't notice him , but he was quick to dodge the man, he moved his hand in front protecting his body, this was the reason he got injured his hand was bleeding badly.

Jack noticed more men entering... before he went to protect his father, a man took his knife and stabbed Roger... Emily and Jack shouted together.... Dad.

Emily was shocked, she couldn't move from her place... and her mom lost her senses.

Jack was strong and calm... he instructed Emily to take mom and run from there, while he was still fighting back protecting his family.

While thinking these, Emily's eyes were red again, Emily was lost in her thought... she saw her mother, "mom must be hungry I have to do something" she thought.

she decided to sneak into her house at night to take some money and food.

At night ...

Emily standing outside her house, 'It's my house, still why am I scared to go inside.'

Someone had locked her house... 'who might have locked , when they left in the morning it was all open.

Collecting all her courage she entered her house from the back door. The memories of morning flashed in her mind.

She went to her room took some dresses and then her mom's room to take some of her dresses. She took everyone's phone, where ever she could find money and every bank card she could find.

The house was given to them from the company, so Emily thought she won't be able to come back to this house, in which she had lived for years.

Emily felt heartbroken... the more she thought about it she felt sad...

She put all in one bag and went out, she had seated her mom on a bench near the house. There was no one on the streets. Emily checked the time, it was past two o' clock.

She had some money now, she ordered some food for her and her mom. she hailed a taxi to go to Josie's house.

On the way, she couldn't help but crying remembering her father, brother and her mother's situation.

She had never dreamt that her life would take such a U turn in which she will have to live without her father.

Emily called Josie to tell her that she was coming. But there was no response at the other end... weird thoughts running wild in Emily's mind. ' May be she isn't at home? Where will I go if Josie was not at home? '

Emily tried again, this time she heard Josie speaking from the other end.

Emily felt relieved when she heard Josie's voice, she felt a sense of strength. There was Josie for her. She could tell Josie all her worries. She was thankful that she had a friend.

" Emily, I hope you have a good reason to wake me up from my beauty sleep, or else you will get from me." Josie was angry. There was no one who could wake her up very easily. But today by chance , she had woken up.

Suddenly Josie stopped scolding Emily. " Emily are you crying? Why are you crying? Tell me ... oh girl don't cry.. tell me what happened? You are worrying me to death. What's wrong? "

"Josie, I am coming to your house now... I will tell you everything after I come... don't worry I am fine... I will be there in an hour..." Emily said to Josie, and all Josie could hear afterwards was the sound of beep.

Josie was still very worried about Emily. She couldn't help but think of weird thoughts.

' Did she do something stupid that her parents kicked her out of the house.'

' Oh my god, did she elope from her house with a boy ? .... No no that's not possible... up to where I know she doesn't have a boyfriend.. then how can she run with one?'

Josie was a person who couldn't handle her curiosity. Most of the time she falls into trouble because of her curiosity?

The time went on very slowly for Josie, it was not yet an hour, but for Josie it was like years.

More than an hour had passed, Josie still was waiting for Emily, suddenly she heard the sound of a car... she ran out of the house... it was Emily and her mother.

Josie had never seen Emily's mom in such a state.. her face was so pale... and worse her dress also was very untidy...

Josie looked at Emily and bombard a lots of questions...

"Emily what happened? Who did this to you? Why are you both like this ? What's wrong? "

Emily who was standing suddenly burst into tears... " Josie my father is dead."

It was like a bomb blast for Josie... What ? Uncle is dead? How?

Emily hugged Josie and sobbed. Josie's parents who were sleeping came out hearing the sound.

' Emily what's wrong?' Josie's mother asked in concern. ' and what's wrong with Elizabeth?'

'Mom let's go inside first.' Josie suggested.

All sat in the hall. Emily narrated everything that happened, but she missed the part that she saw Mr. James and doubted that it was him who killed her father. Tears welled In Emily's eyes. Emily felt her chest tightening when she was narrating the incident to them.

Josie and her parents were so shocked when they heard what had happened? For a while there was pin drop silent in the hall.

'Who were those men? and why did they do all these ? Micheal, Josie's father felt sad thinking his friend was no more. He decided to investigate what had happened and who did it.

Roger and Micheal were good friends, They had even involved in some business together . They were quite close to each other.

'Oh dear, what happened is really very sad, we have to further investigate and find out where is Jack. And first thing tomorrow morning, Elizabeth should be taken to hospital. I can't see her like this.' Chris said feeling heartbroken.

' Josie take Emily inside, Emily you should take good rest now, you have gone through a lot to be strong you should have rest.' Micheal suggested.

Josie took Emily and her mother to the guest room,

'Emily take good rest, and don't worry, my dad will investigate everything and we will surely get justice' Josie patted Emily.

Emily nodded her head and took her mother to the bathroom, changed her dress.

"Mom sleep now, I'll take you to hospital tomorrow." She sat next to her mother and tapped her until she could hear her breath being steady.

Emily felt now she was the mother , and she was putting her daughter to sleep.

Emily didn't feel sleepy at all. She sat near the window lost in thoughts.

Emily came back to herself when she heard her mother's sound. Emily ran to her mother, she heard; "water , water".

Her mom was asking for water. Emily's eyes filled with tears, this was the first word her mom had said after the incident.

Emily hoped her mother is fine . But after she drank water without saying any word, her mom went to sleep. Emily felt heartbroken and sad.

'Can't mom remember anything that happened today? ' Emily thought.

Emily lost in her thoughts again, couldn't sleep the whole night... she wanted answers for all her questions.. whom is she suppose to ask for the answers ? The more she thought about it, the more questions popped up her mind.

She checked the time it was six in the morning. She got up and went to the washroom. She changed and was ready to start a new day.

Emily felt like she was going to start a new journey of her life.
