Chapter 1 I Won't Marry Him

Jennifer Lu was called back to the Lu's mansion on an emergency.

When she stepped into the living room, the TV was airing a report on the Gu Group. Jennifer Lu stopped and looked at the giant LCD screen.

"The elections for the current CEO of the Gu Group is about to begin. At present, Jason Gu, the head of the Gu Family, has not said much about the candidates. It is reported that the eldest grandson of the Gu Family, Ryan Gu, is expected to win. The results will be known after the Gu Group's board meeting."

The mention of Ryan Gu made Jennifer Lu's heart tremble.

'He...'

"Miss Jennifer, why have you returned?" The servant's words interrupted Jennifer Lu's thoughts.

She usually would be on duty at the office at this time.

Jennifer Lu shook her head and smiled at the servant. "Where is my father?"

"Mr. Elliot and Mr. Gu are in the study now."

Jennifer Lu frowned slightly. "Which Mr. Gu?"

There were not that many people who had the surname Gu in the F City, let alone get near her father. There could only be one person...

"It is Mr. Jacob," the servant answered.

'Ah! I thought so.'

Jacob Gu was Ryan Gu's second uncle.

A sense of uneasiness suddenly rose up in Jennifer Lu's heart. Her father, Elliot Mo, must had called her back for a reason.

"I'll go up to my room and freshen up first," Jennifer Lu went upstairs after saying this.

When she passed through the study, Jennifer Lu stopped in front of the door and listened carefully.

"I can assure you that as long as you join hands with me, we will definitely be able to defeat Ryan and pull him out of the company. Even if Ryan is capable, it will be impossible for him to fight against the Gu Family and the Lu Family at the same time. If necessary, we can even make him disappear. It will be just like he's never existed."

It was Jacob Gu who said this.

Jennifer Lu's eyes widened. She was shocked. Jacob Gu was determined to get the Gu Family all to himself and even want to kill Ryan in the process.

She couldn't just stand by and watch Ryan Gu in danger.

Jennifer Lu tiptoed back to her room. When she got there, she took out her phone and dialed a number. "Can you help me contact Ryan? Okay, I'll wait for your news."

After changing her clothes, Jennifer Lu waited anxiously in her bedroom.

After a while, her phone rang.

"How is it going?" she asked.

An embarrassed voice came from the other end of the phone. "Mr. Ryan, he... He doesn't want to see you."

Jennifer Lu didn't feel disappointed at this. She had expected it, but she still wanted to give it a shot.

Nevertheless, she had to see Ryan Gu today.

Jennifer Lu would never forget the bloody scene that greeted her eyes when she walked into the Gu's mansion. She didn't want it to happen to Ryan Gu.

Standing up suddenly, she rushed out of the bedroom. She had decided to go to the Gu Group to find Ryan Gu to talk to him about what was happening.

However, to Jennifer Lu's surprise, she happened to meet Elliot Mo and Jacob Gu when she rushed downstairs. They were sitting on the sofa and talking.

"Jen, you're back." Elliot Mo waved his hand, gesturing for Jennifer Lu to come to him.

Jennifer Lu hid all her emotions and obediently came to Elliot Mo's side. "Dad, Uncle Jacob."

"Elliot, you are so lucky to have such a beautiful daughter." Jacob Gu studied Jennifer Lu up and down and smiled at her.

Elliot Mo nodded his head. "Jacob, you are the one who is lucky. Your son, Francis, is wanted by many women. If my memory serves me right, Francis and Jen graduated from the same university. You were friends, right, Jen?"

When Jennifer Lu heard that the topic had something to do with Francis Gu, she just smiled and did not answer Elliot Mo's question.

Although she and Francis Gu studied in the same university, they didn't know each other well at all.

Elliot Mo's reference to Francis Gu at this time was probably to lay the groundwork for the next thing they wanted to say.

As she expected, after Jacob Gu heard what Elliot Mo said, he added, "It seems to be the case. That's good. Jennifer is quite familiar with Fran. The good relationship they built before will provide the foundation and save a lot of unnecessary trouble, when the two children will be together and live with each other in the future."

"Yes, of course," Elliot Mo echoed.

Jennifer Lu suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable. "Dad, what are you talking about?"

She had a disturbing thought. 'Do they want to make a match between me and Francis?'

Elliot smiled, "Oh, here is the thing. Uncle Jacob came here today to propose a marriage. Jen, you are already at the marrying age. I think you have a good relationship with Francis. This marriage will be a win-win solution."

Jennifer stared at them as if they were crazy.

She barely even spoke to Francis Gu!

Of course, she knew better than anyone else that the real reason why her father wanted her to marry into the Gu Family was because he wanted to use the shares her mother left her to help Jacob Gu deal with Ryan Gu.

She had been playing dumb for so many years, but did he really think she was that stupid?

Jennifer smiled faintly, "I won't marry him."

Her voice was quiet and firm.

Elliot and Jacob didn't expect that she would refuse them. Their faces darkened in an instant.

Elliot frowned and scolded his daughter loudly, "Do you know what you are saying, Jennifer? It should be your honor to marry Francis and enter the Gu Family. Who else would dare to marry you with your current reputation in the F City? Learn your place!"

Elliot's words dripped with disgust.

Jennifer laughed sarcastically. "Dad, as you said, I have a bad reputation. Will the Gu Family allow me to become one of them?"

She then shot Jacob a meaningful gaze. "Uncle Jacob, I don't think Francis would want a woman like me. Please don't hurt your son for your own selfish gain."

Jacob's face darkened at her words.

'She...'

"Jennifer." Elliot didn't expect his daughter to be so disrespectful to him. He glared at her angrily. "How dare you? You will marry Francis, whether or not you want to."

Jennifer looked her father in the eye. "I have said that I won't marry him. If you asked me to come back today just because of this matter, then we have nothing else to talk about."

She then turned around and left quickly, ignoring her father's curses at her.

Looking at Jennifer's receding figure, Elliot could still feel anger boiling in his chest. At the thought that she embarrassed him in front of Jacob, he did want nothing but tear his daughter apart.

He shouldn't have given birth to such an evil creature!

Jacob glanced over at Elliot. "Elliot, I think you know how important it is that they get married. I hope I can hear good news before the board meeting comes."

Shocked, Elliot looked at him to say something, but Jacob had already turned around and left.

Elliot was left alone in the living room. He stared up to the ceiling, eyes filled with anger. His daughter would pay for her insolence!

Chapter 2 Marry Me, Ryan

After leaving the Lu Family, Jennifer was very tense. She needed to find Ryan immediately. His life was in danger.

Jennifer took out her cell phone and looked for his number.

Jennifer had Ryan's number, but she had never contacted him voluntarily. She knew that he would just put the phone down on her.

After thinking for a while, Jennifer finally decided to go to see Ryan by herself.

After finding out where Ryan was, Jennifer went to him.

Ryan was having dinner with his client at the JJ hotel. She sat in another table and waited for him to finish.

It took two hours before the client left.

When Ryan stood up and prepared to leave, Jennifer stood up and strode towards him, blocking his way.

Ryan frowned upon seeing her.

She could tell the annoyance in his eyes.

But she didn't care about it. First things first.

"What can I do for you?" Ryan asked coldly.

Jennifer raised her eyebrows slightly. "Ryan, we need to talk."

She knew he wanted to have nothing to do with her, but what she had to say was important. It was a matter of life and death.

No matter how hard it would take, she had to give it a try. There was no way that she could just stand by and watch Ryan fall to his demise.

"We have nothing to talk about," Ryan said indifferently.

Jennifer heaved a deep sigh. Then, she looked at him straight in the eye. "Ryan, let's get married."

She said it to him straight, without any hesitation.

Ryan was a little stunned. "What's wrong? Can't your little boy toys satisfy you?"

Mockery was obvious in his tone.

In the F City, everyone knew that the private life of Miss Jennifer from the Lu Family was one of hedonism and opulence. She had all the money she could ever need and all the men she could ever want.

Jennifer's face turned pale in an instant. Then, shaking her head, she gave him a charming smile. "I have tried too many boring guys. I'm looking for the taste of something new. Ryan, I want you!"

She approached Ryan and ran her delicate fingers through his hair. Poising her red lips next to his ear, she landed a soft kiss on his earlobe.

Her heart beat wildly in her chest as she got close to the man she had a crush on, a hint of obsession flashing in her eyes.

However, there was nothing but disgust in Ryan's deep eyes.

As he tried to peel her off of him, the smile on Jennifer's face became more coquettish. She whispered, "Oh, by the way, I know something about you. I heard that your mother and..."

Meanwhile, her little hands moved along Ryan's neck down to his chest. She tried to seduce him with her eyes. Little did he know that she had her heart in her mouth right now.

Jennifer knew that she was pushing Ryan's limits, but she had no choice. She needed to marry him at all costs.

Her words successfully provoked Ryan.

His eyes were full of shock and anger, his cold gaze like a knife shooting straight at her.

"Jennifer Lu!" Gritted his teeth, Ryan grasped her hands. "If you need a man, just go and find someone else. Don't touch me. It makes me sick!"

Jennifer felt a pang in her heart. Those words stung. However, she forced the smile on her face to grow even brighter. "What? Did I say anything wrong? Ryan, as long as you marry me, no one is ever going to know your secret!

And..."

After a pause, Jennifer continued. "If you marry me, I can help you take back control of the Gu Family. My request is very simple. I just want to become your wife. You don't have anything to lose."

Ryan grimaced at her words.

'My wife?'

Ryan sneered, "Didn't anyone ever tell you that I hate it when people try to manipulate me? There is nothing I despise more than people who do that. Who do you think you are? Huh?

Marrying a slut like you will not only ruin me, but also my family. You can leak this secret, Jennifer. I'd like to see just how much trouble you can make in the F City for me."

His tall body exuded a cold aura. He then shook off her hands fiercely. Jennifer staggered back several steps.

After steadying herself, she raised her head and looked into Ryan's eyes.

His words were like sharp blades, piercing right into her heart.

"Ryan, I'm going to marry you anyway. You are mine." Jennifer took a deep breath, determination glinting in her eyes.

Ryan's gaze seemed to get even colder. "Then perhaps you have a hearing problem. I will never marry you. Now, get out of my sight.

For the sake of the Lu Family, I will forgive your antics this time. However, if I see you again, I guarantee you will be sorry."

The resolution in his tone showed that he was not joking.

Ryan unbuttoned his suit jacket, took off his tie and threw them into the trash can. His eyes were full of disgust.

His clothes had been touched by Jennifer, which meant that they had been contaminated by her. How could he stand wearing them anymore?

Jennifer's face paled, and a cold smile appeared on Ryan's lips. He turned around and left without saying another word.

She just stood still, clenching her fists tightly. Her eyes was filling with sadness as she watched his retreating figure.

After she calmed herself down, Jennifer took out her phone and dialed a number. "Have you finished what I asked you to do?"

The person on the other end replied, and a smirk appeared on her lips. She hung up the phone with satisfaction.

'Ryan, I'm definitely going to marry you!'

Chapter 3 I Like Ryan

The next morning, after dressing herself up, Jennifer came to the old Gu mansion.

After growing up, Ryan had moved out. He would only go back to the old mansion to accompany Jason every weekend. The only other people who lived in the old mansion were Shemar Gu and Jacob.

Jennifer sat up straight in front of Jason, a faint smile on her face.

The old man stared at the woman in front of him. Finally, he spoke loudly, "Miss Jennifer, since you came to visit me in person and asked me to meet you, let's cut to the chase. What do you want to talk about?"

Without hesitation, Jennifer took out a stack of photos from her bag and gently laid them out in front of Jason. "Mr. Jason, since you have asked, I will get right to it. I want you to make a decision. Make Ryan marry me."

Jason was dumbfounded.

His face scrunched up a little, but it went back to normal. His eyes fell on the stack of photos. He raised his head and looked at Jennifer. "What do you mean?"

Jennifer and Ryan could be seen in the photos. It was when they met up the previous day, but it looked like they were kissing each other.

"Mr. Jason, don't be angry. I didn't expect that someone would catch the photo. I came to Ryan yesterday to discuss us getting married, but he refused," Jennifer said with a smile.

She didn't hide what had really happened.

However, Jason was well aware of what she was trying to do.

Sure enough, after hearing what Jennifer said, Jason scrutinized her even more. "Get married? If my memory serves me right, it seems that you two don't know each other at all, and now suddenly you want to get married? Miss Jennifer, as a girl, you should be more proper. People who don't know you might get the wrong impression about you.

Besides..." Jason paused and looked at Jennifer meaningfully. "Not everyone can become a part of the Gu Family."

What he really meant to say was that Jennifer was not good enough to marry into the Gu family.

"Mr. Jason, before I came to you with the photos today, I already knew what I was in for. My request is very simple. I want to marry Ryan. Even if you think I am not qualified to marry him and become a member of the Gu Family, I have to marry him," Jennifer said indifferently, a smile on her face all throughout.

"Of course, if you still insist on your own opinion, Mr. Jason, I will have to ask the public to judge this matter for me. I think there will be a lot of people who will be very interested in these photos in my hands. I'm used to being exposed to the public, but I don't know if the Gu Family would be able to handle it."

Jennifer knew that she was threatening him, but she had already gone too far to back down.

It didn't matter what the whole world would think of her. All that mattered to her was marrying Ryan.

"What? Miss. Jennifer, your self-confidence is amusing. Do you really think you can threaten the Gu Family just by leaking these photos? Little girl, I have been through worse things than you can imagine. Do you really think I will be afraid of your threats?"

Jason was a bit red in the face, and Jennifer knew she had made him upset.

She then smiled, "Mr. Jason, I know you won't buckle under my threats. I just want to marry Ryan. I hope you can help me."

Jennifer paused for a moment before continuing to speak, "Well, I know you want to hand over the reins of the Gu Family to Ryan, but there are so many things standing in his way. How about I make a deal with you?"

Jason tried to keep his expression as neutral as possible. "A deal? What sort of deal could you offer me? Even in your own family, you have no power or influence whatsoever. How can you possibly help Ryan?"

Jennifer chose to tell him the truth. "Mr. Jason, as far as I know, Mr. Jacob is very interested in fostering a marriage between our two families. Yesterday, he came to visit my father in person and he asked for me to marry his son. But, I..."

Jennifer paused, remembering what happened yesterday. She shook her head and continued speaking, "I am far more interested in Ryan than in Francis. Although I have no power or influence in the Lu Family, I'm confident that I can help Ryan get what he wants. I will do whatever it takes.

All I care about is Ryan marrying me. As his wife, it will be my duty to support him, won't it?"

When he heard the news that Jacob had proposed marriage to the Lu Family, Jason was stunned. He felt a pang in his heart.

After all this time, Jacob still had it in him to be so conniving.

"Jennifer, if you want me to believe you, you would have to give me a reason to believe you, right?" Jason's expression was still cold, but his tone had softened a little.

He was moved by the determination in Jennifer's eyes.

For a moment, he seemed to think highly of her.

After everything he had been through in his life, Jason knew how to accurately judge people. The woman in front of him might not be as bad as the rumors said she was.

Hearing Jason's words, the smile on Jennifer's face got brighter and brighter.

Without saying anything, she fished out another document from her bag and silently handed it to Jason.

Jason picked up the document and read its contents for a few minutes. He was shocked when he finished reading it.

Raising his head, Jason stared at Jennifer in disbelief. "You... Do you really have to marry Ryan? Little girl, tell me honestly. Why do you keep insisting on getting together with Ryan?

You even handed me your last bargaining chip!"

Looking firmly into Jason's eyes, Jennifer spoke slowly, "I like Ryan."

Yes, she liked Ryan.

Jennifer's words shocked Jason.

He felt the sincerity of her words. She was not lying about her feelings for Ryan.

Seconds later, Jason smiled with relief.
