I sat on my bed, my eyes locked on the two shaking sticks in my hand, both telling me I was pregnant, I thought about my mother, my useless mate... I thought about how it happened

Flashback

"Are you coming to my house for the party tonight?" My best friend, Lily, asks. It was the last day of our senior year and Lily decided to throw a big party at her house. Especially since her parents are away, so it's going to be a pretty crazy and wild party. I really much prefer staying home watching my favorite movie. I open my mouth to turn her down but She cut me off short.

"Bree please come." She begged, using my nickname. "I already asked your mom, plus my cousin's coming to visit and I want you to meet him." She added. I stared at her observing her short brown hair, her big brown eyes and her pointed nose and full lips, her pale complexion similar to mine looked so smooth. To say Lily is a beauty is an understatement. She the most beautiful girl I've ever met before and trust me I've met a lot of girls including the school slut.

."Fine, Lil' I'll come but only because you asked my mom though." I said. She smile excitedly, I roll my eyes and link my arm with hers.

"Come on then, let's go and get ready." She said dragging me to her house. Heaven help me.

The party was in full swing, kids were dancing to the music while others were making out all over the place. I wouldn't have been surprised if I saw anyone having sex, what with hormonal teen werewolves all over the place.

I looked around the room trying to find Lily with no such luck and I couldn't single out her scent properly with all these wolves here.

I hadn't met her cousin yet and I was getting annoyed at guys touching my butt. I was getting two much attention in this outfit, Lily actually made me wear a short black pleated skirt with a white linen top with white pumps. Although I actually liked the outfit when I looked myself in the mirror, now though, I just want to tear the clothing off and put on something different, that's why I wanted to find Lily.

Sighing I gave up and went into the kitchen to get something to drink. I didn't know why, but I felt my wolf getting excited and anxious as I felt someone's presence behind me.

''Hey beautiful, could you help me find my cousin?''

A deep voice asks behind me, I then felt his hand on my butt. I spun around already tired of people grabbing my butt, I look up to tell the jerk off but I found myself staring into the most beautiful hazel eyes.

My wolf kept shouting ''Mate, mate!'' in my head as his hazel eyes glistened when he too realized what was happening. A smile crept onto my face as I took in the way he look, his husky blonde hair made him look like a bad boy, he was wearing a black jeans and a white fitted t-shirt, which made me drool. I love guys in white t shirt and he looked just so damn yummy. I can't believe I actually found my mate.

After staring at his chest I found my way back to his gorgeous face and blushed when I saw him smirking knowingly at me. We stood there staring at each other like there was no tomorrow. After a while he asked me to dance which I said yes all too willingly.

''Hmm you smell so good, babe.'' He said breathing down my neck making me shiver in anticipation, my wolf was going crazy with want. I took a deep breath and his scent was toxic to me "Hmm it's getting hot in here let's go upstairs for a while.'' I said and in less than ten minutes we were upstairs in one of the guest room, making out like crazy. That night we made love exploring each other bodies and getting to know each other. I woke up the next morning to find no mate. Jumping out of bed I wasn't worry, I figure he probably left to use the bathroom or maybe get breakfast until saw a letter on the pillow and I picked it up. What I read in the letter broke my heart into pieces.

'' I'm sorry but I don't want you as my mate. What we did was a mistake.......

My hands trembles as I felt my heart breaking with every word written on the paper. I don't know what hurt the most the fact that he said he don't want me or when he said what we did was a mistake. I left Lily house after finally gather myself. I haven't talk to her since last week. I was too a shame to tell her anything even though she was my best friend.

I heard a soft knock on my door breaking me from my thoughts. I look up to find my mother head poking through my door she look a little concern. '' Is everything ok honey, you been up here for a while and I thought I smell something fun-. '' My mom was cut short as her eyes landed on the two pregnancy tests. Shit!! I was so caught up in my thoughts I forget to put them away. My mom pushed the door open more widely as she take a sniff of the air, her face change from concern to realization. The funny smell was coming from me now that I'm pregnant

''Brella is there something you should tell me?'' She asks eyeing me suspiciously. I knew she already figured it out but just wanted to hear the words from out my mouth. I looked at my mom she was smaller than me, I got my height from my father and also his green eyes while my mother has brown eyes. The only thing I got from her was her midnight black hair. My big brother Max looks more like my mother.

'' Mom I can explain.'' I started before she starts freaking out. Her eyes turn to slits as she looks at me in my eyes. I know this was going to be hard telling her what happen, but I know I had to do it, taking a deep breath.'' I met my mate a few nights ago.'' I quickly said. I saw her eyes register with understanding. When you met your mate it's almost impossible to resist the urge to mate.

There was a long pause and the air felt thin.

'' Does he know about the pregnancy?'' My mom eventually asks. I looked at her with sad eyes and shook my head. '' And why is that? He needs to take responsibility." She added. A tear slipped from my eyes as I answer her question.

'' He... he doesn't know because he rejected me the next day after we mated.'' The tears were flowing freely down my face now. My mom rushed to my side comforting me like when I was a child and I happily lean into her. "I don't know his name or which pack he's from. Mom I don't know what to do." I said between sobs.

''It's ok honey, everything will be alright.'' She said. I was glad I told my mother everything but I know I could stay and bring shame on my father name as Alpha. After a while listening to my mother smoothing words I fall asleep in her arms.

It's been three weeks since I left home. I was now staying in New York at my aunt Mandy and her mate apartment until I get my own. They helped me get a job as a secretary at a fashion magazine so I help her pay the rent I haven't contact my parents yet, the work had me busy most times that I reach home late and I'm always tired so I use my free time to rest.

Today was no different than the other days it was 11 o'clock pm, I had just finish work and heading home.

'' Hey Brella, do you need a ride home?'' James one of my coworker asked. We became friends on the first day of work he help me get accustom to my job.

''I'm ok James I only live two blocks from here, thanks for the offer thou'' I said offering him a smile. "Plus I was going to grab something to eat first." I added.

'' Well I can come with you.'' He said looking hopeful. Even thou we're friends I suspects James wanted more than to just be friends. He's been trying to get the chance to be alone with me.

I quickly said no and saw his face fell and I immediately felt bad for him. James is cute with his dark hair and brown eyes but I'm just not ready for a relationship. I'm not even sure if I can date with my mate on my mind. Even thou he rejected me I still long for him. I blame the mate bond.

'' Well next time, Bree.'' He said quickly turning his cast fallen face into a smile, then speeds off. I just stand there watching his car disappear into the night. Shaking my head I went into my favorite dinner. I was craving chocolate cake and bugger, so I order those along with a box of chine food. This baby was making me eat like crazy but I always try to watch myself well except for tonight work had me so busy that the only thing I really ate was breakfast and a chocolate bar for lunch just to keep me going.

After receiving and paying for my stuff I headed in the direction for home. My senses was on high alert because I couldn't help but feel like someone is watching, as I walk down the lonely street normally it would be pack with people but tonight it's deserted. I didn't like this one bit, it reminded me of those movies when the person is alone and then out of no were the bad guy came out. I quicken my pace wanting to hurry and reach home.

"Why so in a hurry, princess?" A voice from in an alley suddenly asks making me freeze in my tracks. I then saw a guy emerge from out of the shadow of the alley he look well build and had a scar under his left eye. I felt the hair on my back stands up as he eyed me closely, this guy felt dangerous." Don't you know it's dangerous to walk the streets alone at night?" he asks his eyes scanning me.

Taking a deep breath I realize he's a werewolf and I quickly let out a growl. My wolf was screaming must protect pup, I agree with her if anything happen to my baby I would never forgive myself and this guy felt way too dangerous. If he was a human it would be easy to shake him but unfortunately he's a wolf also. This is really bad.

"Now there's no reason to be rude, let's have a little fun." he said not even affected by my growl. I know I couldn't fight him he's too big and I didn't want to risk harming my baby so I did the most noble thing any girl would do. I ran for my freaking life and most importantly for the life of my child. The apartment was only a block now. If I can just make it there I would be safe.

All hopes of making it there vanish when I felt my left hand being yanked back making me stumble. I almost fell but I manages to keep standing.

"If you don't let me go, I'll scream." I threaten trying to break loose from his grip but it was too tight.

In one swift move we were in the alley and my head was lashed against a wall, my head starts spinning as blood slowly drips down my neck." If you as so much scream, I'll break your little neck." he threatens and I felt the fear crept in me as a chill ran down my spine. His voice sound so menacing and lace with threat, I dare not scream.

His hand pinned me against the wall while his other starts to roam my body from my breast to my most sensitive spot. My heart pick up speed as it then register to me what he intended to do. A new fear crept in me as I start struggling to get free only to have him tighten his grip.

"Please don't, I'm pregnant." I begged tears starting to come.

"Don't worry; this won't hurt your baby." He said raising my skirt. I then heard the sound of a zipper being pulled down and I felt all the blood drained from my face.

I close my eyes blaming myself for this. I would have never been in this mess if I had stayed home and not go that damn party, or if I hadn't left home.

Suddenly I felt the grip on my hands no longer there. I open my eyes to see the guy on the ground knock out and a guy standing beside him. Everything happens so fast I couldn't gasp it. My legs were shaking and my head was spinning. I could feel myself going weak and weaker from the blood I lost. My legs suddenly give out before I could reach the ground a pair of strong arms catches me.

"Hey are you alright." A male voice asks me.

"Hmmm mm" I mutter then everything went black.

"Dude do you think she's alright, she hasn't wake up for 10 hours now." A voice said

"Mr. Reid said she going to be alright, and getting enough sleep will be good for her baby." A male voice said. At the mention of my baby my eyes snapped open and I looked around frantically. Wondering where I am. I saw two pairs of blue eyes looking at me curiously. Quickly I rise up and I felt a sharp pain in my head then everything from last night start flashing back. I gasp and quickly put my arms around my stomach.

"Don't worry your baby will be just find." The familiar voice said. Relief washed over me as I look at him. He's really cute with blond hair piercing blue eyes and his pointed nose. So he was my knight and shinning armored awesome. I looked to my left and saw another version of him only younger he had brown shaggy hair and his nose's not pointed. "As for that bastard you won't ever see him again." He said and his voice was hard.

I looked at both of them glad that they came along and help me in the neck of time. The thought of what could have happen sent a shiver down my spine. I decide to forget about that and thank my two heroes.

"I'm Brella and thank you both so much for saving me." I said with a smile on my face.

"No problem Brella it's all in a day's work." The brown hair one said flexing his mussel. I let out a chuckle.

"I'm Ryan and that's my crazy little brother Jace." The blond one said holding in a chuckle.

"Hey I'm not little, you're only two years older than me." Jace pouted.

"Exactly, what I mean." Ryan reply. It's amusing to watch these two like this, they relationship seems so strong kind of like what I use to had with my brother. The thought of him made me miss my family, I know I have to call them sooner or later.

"So Brella are you hungry? We were about to order lunch." Ryan asks breaking me out of my thoughts. At the mention of lunch made my stomach growl and we all starts laughing.

Getting out of bed, I realize that I wasn't in any of my clothes. Instead I was wearing a huge white t-jersey and a pair of boxer. "Did you change me?" I ask looking at Ryan, his face suddenly heating up as he smile shyly at me.

"Yes but I didn't look." He quickly answer looking anywhere but me. I chuckle at him.

"It's ok, it feels comfortable thanks." I wave off at him. I saw my phone vibrating and pick it up. "Hello."

"Oh, my gosh! Brella, where the hell are you?" Mandy shouted into the phone." Do you have any idea how worry I was, your parents would kill me if anything ever happen to you." She continued.

"Mandy clam down please, I'll explain to you later." I said and hung up the phone. ''Uhm where can I find the bathroom?'' I ask looking at them.

'' It's down the hall and through the left.'' Jace said.

"Thanks." I said and grab my stuff and went to the bathroom. There's no way I'm staying dirty. I feel all sticky and needed a bath quickly.

After I finish freshen up I follow the smell of a fresh pizza into a huge kitchen. This place is pretty big, even the bathroom was huge. They must be rich people I thought.

"We just order pizza, for lunch would you like to have some before you leave.'' Ryan said as soon as he notice I've enter. The pizza look really mouthwatering and I was starving, so what the heck.

"Thanks.'' I said taking a pizza and sitting down at the table. We ate in silence enjoying our pizza.

"Who's Mr. Reid?" I asked. "I overheard you saying something he told you." I wonder who he was and how he knows my baby is fine.

"He's our pack doctor I let him check you after you fainted." Ryan answers my question.

"So how you guys manage to have a pack in New York?" I ask kind of surprise. In a city full with human shouldn't it be really hard to hide what we are. I thought.

"Well it's only me, Jace, Kristy our cousin she's not here now and of course Dr. Reid. With just a few of us it's quite easy to hide ourselves among humans. My father was an Alpha we lived here for quite a while our family was a pack Dr. Reid was a close friend of the family so he join our pack. After our parents die I took over." He explains. I knew I sense power coming off of him but it wasn't strong to affect me in any way maybe because I have Alpha blood in me also.

"I'm sorry about your parent's death, they would be proud of you now." I stated looking at both of them with a small smile. We sat there talking for the remainder of the day. I found it easy talking to them. I told them my reason for coming here and what my mate did in which they comfort me. Time passed and we were still talking. I saw Jace staring at me with a cheeky grin on his face. "What?" I ask staring back at him.

"You have nice eyes..." He said blushing.

I smirked at him he's so sweet I thought to myself. "I know." I said cockily and start giggling as he blushed more deeply. I pick up my phone to check what time it is and was surprise to find it pass 6 o'clock. Shit Mandy is going to kill me.

"Sorry guys but I have to go now, thanks again for saving me. You guys are my heroes." I said getting up to leave.

"Wait, we'll escort you home Brella." Ryan suddenly said jumping up and coming over to my side.

"Yeah we get to see where you live." Jace started jumping up singing. I let out a giggle and accept their offer. There's no way I'm walking alone after what happen.
