Aurora's POV
I hugged myself, resisting the cold and bites from the insects that crawled on the walls. I let the tears flow from my eyes while my stomach grumbled.
I haven't had anything to eat for the past three days. My dress was tacky, dirty, and sticky.
I raised my head immediately when I heard a sound coming from the dungeon gates.
Hoping it was for my release, I stood on my feet, shivering.
"You! The guard spoke in an authoritative voice. The alpha requests to see you.".
I lifted my feet and took my first step, staggering as I walked. My body felt so weak to carry my legs.
"Walk fast! The guard pushed me. We don't have all day.".
He grabbed my right arms as soon as we got to the Alpha's chambers and pushed me, making me fall to my knees.
"That's enough!". The Alpha mocked.
"Yes Alpha". The guard bowed and took his leave.
The room fell silent as I waited for him to make my life more sorrowful, like he always did.
"Raise your head! Look at me! He demanded.
I raised my head slowly to face him. Gulits and disappointments filled me. I felt guilty that I let down my parents and was disappointed in the girl I turned out to be.
"Well. He said this, interrupting my thoughts. I wasn't the person who asked about you; Iza was. So find your way to her chambers." He instructed.
I sighed silently and walked towards Iza's chambers. She was the Alpha's fiance and a witch who hated me more than anything.
I knocked softly and consciously because I was too weak to get into her troubles.
"Come in!". I heard her yell.
"Good morning". I told her, shutting the door behind me.
You devil! I wish you were dead by now. She hissed. Take out my laundry and do a clean job with it.
I darted my eyes towards her laundry basket, and I saw a heap of dirty clothes and bedding. I knew she purposely heaped them on me to punish me. I mean, they were laundry servants at the park.
"Did you hear me?". She yelled.
Not answering that, I walked towards the dirty clothes and made my way to the laundry room.
"Aurora!". Annie hugged me immediately when she saw me.
'Annie". I smiled and hugged her too.
"What did they do to you?". She sobbed.
"It's fine, Anni; please don't worry about me." I smiled.
Annie had been my true and only friend since the incident. She was an omega and had been treated like a stranger.
I came to know Annie after the incident. I never knew omega's were treated so badly because they were known to be the weakest of the park, which was unfortunate for them.
Two years ago
I lived as a princess at the park. My father was the Alpha, and my mother was the Luna. I was the only child of my parents, and that made me fortunate.
On my seventeenth birthday, my parents organized an expensive birthday party, just like the other years.
My day was going well; both children and adults were present. My parents went as far as inviting the Alpha and Luna of Moon West Park.
I never knew that was the last day I was going to see my parents. Our park got attacked immediately, and my knife diced down my cake. My parents got killed in my presence.
I watched my father struggle with the arrows that matched his heart while she ran towards him. She got shot before she could reach him.
I let out a loud scream while my maids ran towards me. My nightmares began, and I couldn't just wipe off the memories.
Before my parents deaths, I had a deep connection with Alfred; every member of the park knew how bonded we were, including my late parents.
My father was against our relationship because of Alfred's old lifestyle, but I stood in for him despite my father's warning.
The park member waited for my recovery, as I was the heir apparent. Deep down, I knew I wasn't ready to be an Alpha yet.
And that was how I messed my life up. I gave the title to Alfred while I became his Luna. Little did I know I was digging my brave.
"I, the new appointed alpha, reject you, Aurora, as my Luna, and even if we are mated, I still reject you." He announced, his voice bearing no emotion.
"Hey you!". Stella yelled, interrupting the thoughts of my past.
She was the senior house staff member who was responsible for ordering the younger staff members around.
"Yes ma'am". I answered.
"Clean the barn once you're done, and do it alone.".
Most times, I wonder if they forgot who I was. It was just two years ago, and I was like a goddess to them. Now I obey orders from them.
"Yes". I replied.
"I could help." Annie suggested immediately that the senior staff leave.
"That wouldn't be necessary, Annie; you heard her, and I wouldn't want to get you into trouble.".
"How about food? Have you had any?". She became bothered.
"I will".
I heard my stomach grumble, and immediately I said, "I will." I held it with my left hand while I drained out the clothes from the washing machine.
"How do you intend to?" She asked and dashed out of the laundry room.
I watched her run out of my sight in suspense. I had no idea where she was heading but hoped she wouldn't get into trouble.
I drained out the piece of cloth and was about to leave to spread under the sun when Annie dashed into the laundry room, breathing heavily.
"What have you done?". I asked while surveying the environment.
"Made use of some little tactics." She smiled and brought out two packs of cookies and a bottle of orange juice.
"Annie, where did you get these from?". I whispered and grabbed them from her hands.
I haven't had anything to eat for three days, and my stomach couldn't bear it any longer.
I hid behind the washing machines and devoured the food while Annie watched to see if anyone was coming.
"Iza! Iza!". Annie screamed upon seeing her from afar. I quickly gulped down the last bite and dusted my mouth with the cookie particles. Of course, I knew she was coming for me.
Aurora's POV
"You lazy fool. Why aren't you done?". She scoffed, taking a position beside the door.
"I am". I said, while pointing at the bucket of clean clothes.
"What! You have no right to talk back to me!". She yells, emptying the bucket on me.
"And you have no right to do such a thing to me!". My voice bore anger as I flung the wet cloth that wrapped my neck.
A thunderous slap clinged to my face before I could finish my statement.
"Guards!". She yelled.
"Yes Luna". A guard from behind came running.
"Make her kneel before the alpha this instant.".
The guard grabbed my left arm and pulled me to Alfred's chambers.
"Long live Alpha." He bowed and pushed me to the ground.
"What did she do this time?".
"Alpha! Alpha". Iza cried as she ran towards him.
"What's the problem, my Luna?". He held her hands.
"She!". Iza pointed her fingers toward me. Her eyes bore hatred.
"Have you suddenly gone dump? Will you speak up this instant?". He said it in an authoritative voice.
"If she refuses to speak up, I think we should do away with her." Iza quickly interrupted.
I held back my tears as I felt my heart breaking a hundred and one times. Iza and I were the most adorable cousins. She lost her parents at a young age, and since then we've been sisters and done everything together.
Little did I know she had a relationship with Alfred, my first love. I loved them both so much that I couldn't think of anything else.
Iza developed the habit of wanting everything I owned, but my parents and I didn't see it as something wrong since we were wealthy until Alfred came into my life.
Alfred and I were so bonded that we didn't care if we weren't each other's mates. We loved ourselves and promised each other not to attend the mating ceremony on our eighteenth birthday and get married after that.
"Iza, that wouldn't be necessary; a little punishment will do." Alfred opposed me and drafted me out of my thoughts.
"A little punishment? This brat here doesn't deserve to be alive!". Iza yelled.
I raised my eyes to meet hers. She didn't feel any guilt, and I had to believe all of it was planned. My parents' deaths! Overthroning me, it had to be someone's doing.
"Guard!". Alfred called.
"Yes Alpha".
"Send a message to every member of the park this instant. We will be having a very special occasion.".
"Right away, Alpha.".
"Thank you, my Alpha." Iza smiled as she took her leave and left me alone with Alfred.
"How does it feel?". He mocked, leaving a smirk on his face.
"Speak up!". He demanded, a groan appearing on his face.
"I've got nothing to say to you." I blurted out.
"Oh! Really?". He scoffed while walking towards me.
"You've got nothing to say? Or a lot to say? He mocked me, rolling down his fingers beside my chest.
"Don't you dare touch me!". I spat, throwing his hands from my face.
He grabbed my neck and pushed me against the wall.
"You've been mine and always will be!". He pressed his lips against mine.
I wanted to push him, but my heart was opposed. His scent filled my nose and reminded me of our good old days.
He darted his eyes at mine. His gold-almond eyes left a shiver in my throat. I was once in love with those eyes, if not still in love.
"You didn't even change a bit." He spoke in a deep, calm tone.
"Why did you do it?". Tears rolled down my cheeks. Despite everything, we went together.".
I wanted all my questions answered, my heart asked questions my head couldn't answer and I've lived with that for two years now.
"You should know the answer to that. I mean, you had the best teachers." He pressed his lips on mine again, grabbed my neck, and slid his hands beneath my gown.
I stood still, pouring my eyes out. I couldn't move an inch. I still loved him, and I still wanted him. He made his way into my thighs with his left hand and grabbed my waist closer to him with his right hand.
He deepened the kiss and lifted me to the king-sized chair he had previously sat on. Stripping off my gown, he placed his mouth on my nipples and raised his eyes to meet mine.
I let out a voiceless moan, and he smiled upon seeing that. His fingers traveled from my chest to my virgina. He was the only man that I had an interaction with, and he knew all my sensitive parts.
He played with it for a while before kneeling in between my legs and keeping them apart. I closed my eyes as I fought with my emotions and mind.
I couldn't just bring myself to lay with him after everything he did to me.
"Get off me!" I yelled, kicking him off with my feet.
He fumed in range and anger as he buckled his pants. "You'll pay dearly for this." He banged the door against me.
I wore my dress immediately and tried to tie the ripped-off part. I was lucky it wasn't torn so badly.
The door swung open immediately, and he stepped out.
"You! Come here. The guard yelled as he walked closer to me. Today might be your last day in this park, Alpha!". He mocked me as he grabbed my hands towards the door.
As the evening grew older, I heard the voices of people chattering. At that moment, I didn't care about what was befalling me. I just hugged myself and waited for the rude guard to display himself as always.
"Come out". He ordered as expected.
We walked to the park hall. A large bonfire crackled and danced, casting eerie shadows.
across the assembled pack. Some enjoyed the evening, while others were eager to know why the sudden meeting occurred.
Aurora's POV
Aman stood out in the crowd and tinkled a glass with a fork. He was the beta of the park.
"Attention everyone".
The hall fell quiet in eagerness to hear what was to be said.
"We have been summoned here this evening for an occasion; we wait to hear from our Alpha." He spoke and left the stage for Alfred.
"Mmm Mmm. He cleared his throat. As you all know, we've had a pest for two years, and it's high time to get rid of her. Bring her forth.".
My face was drawn and pale as betrayal and humiliation weighed me down. My eyes were filled with a look of utter despair as the guards grabbed my arms and pushed me towards the stage.
"I'm suggesting a death sentence." His voice bore no emotion.
"Aaah". The park member gasped.
"She's pregnant!". A feminine voice yelled from the crowd.
Everyone turned their gaze in search of who the voice belonged to.
"Annie". I whispered, sobbing.
Annie emerged from the crowd with her eyes facing the ground.
"Repeat what you said!". Alfred yelled.
"She's pregnant, Alpha. And it's against the rules of this park to labor a pregnant woman.".
The park members began to whisper and murmur immediately after Annie made the speech.
"She's right; we can't enforce labor or a sentence on a pregnant woman. We should look out to see if she's really pregnant and who the father is." A park elder spoke.
"Mmm! Alfred sighed as he ranged in anger. Throw her back into the dungeon, and a confirmation will be made. Including her!. He pointed at Annie.
*Five minutes later*
"Aurora, are you okay?". Annie ran towards me as I sprained my arms due to the push from the guard.
"I'm okay. I smiled. You shouldn't have done it.".
"Done what? I only told the truth. She paused. Don't tell me you weren't going to say.".
"It wasn't necessary; it's not like the father cares. I threw my face. And you don't deserve to be here.".
"He's so cruel; how can he turn his back on you and forget how you stood by him when no one did?".
"We shouldn't be thinking about that, but how to get you out of here.".
"You, little brat. Come out". The guard in charge pointed at Annie.
***
It was the third day I've lived in the dungeon alone without food or water. My stomach grumbled and growled, begging for food. My eyes were heavily lidded, and my limbs were weak and shaky.
I sorely regretted everything. I wished I had listened to my father and Camel and not my emotions. Alfred was a rogue wolf, and I believed he changed but was wrong.
"Are you okay?". I heard a voice.
I turned around but saw no one. "Camel!". I called in shock.
"It's me; I'm back.".
"Oh my goodness!". I cried; it's been two years since I heard and felt her last. My wolf is back. I smiled.
"I warned you." She said,
The dungeon door creaked from outside as the sound of the key turning into its lock was heard, which kept me alert.
A guard walked into the dungeon and lifted me to his back. He carried me till we got out of the park. I couldn't scream or struggle because I was too weak.
He walked further into the forest and got to a path where there was no trace of lights.
"You, scumbag! He threw me to the ground. You've drained me of energy.".
He brought out a sharp blade from his side pockets. "Finally, you've got a chance to reunite with your parents." He scoffed as he pierced the blade straight into my heart.
I gasped for breath as I felt the knife in me. My life flashed through my eyes. "Maybe the goddess also wanted this' '. I told myself as I gave up on my own life.
The skies became blurry, and I waited to bleed to death, but it didn't come. I felt a strong aura from within. It was a mixture of dry wood and orchids.
My eyes were blurry and weak, but I felt a presence beside me. I slowly opened my eyes; I couldn't see properly, but I saw a muscular figure who kneeled before me.
He lifted me into his arms and transformed me into a wolf. His fur was silk and gave me comfort as I lay on it. He ran with speed deep into the forest.
***Next Morning***
The ray of the sun showed on my face and woke me up. I slowly opened my eyes and found myself in a different and strange environment.
It was an old, dilapidated house. The walls were cracked and covered in cobwebs, including the windows. The ceiling was covered in moss and lichen.
I suddenly heard footsteps approaching towards the room I was in. My eyes popped open upon seeing him. He was tall, broad, and light-skinned. His hair was oily and curly, and his face was well carved. His eyes were golden, like they were made with fire.
"How do you feel now?". His voice shook me off my thoughts.
"Yes, I feel better now." I answered with my eyes still on him.
"I made soup." He pointed to a bowl that was beside me.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"I think I like him." Camel teased.
"shhhh. I said, shutting her up. He's a total stranger.".
"No, I'm not." He smiled.
I darted my eyes towards him in shock. "Did he just read my mind?". I immediately suppressed my thought after being aware he might have heard me.
"Your soup is getting cold.".
My stomach began to mumble aloud before he finished the sentence. I darted my gaze towards him and caught him scoffing.
"You can go ahead and punish yourself, but not me." Camel sobbed.
"Who are you?". I asked in a polite and eager voice.
"I am the cursed Lycan king.".
"Oh! No". I took a step back and pushed the bowl of soup, causing it to fall on the floor.
