WENDY'S POV I knocked gently on the door but got no response. The second knock was louder and this time, a gruff, 'Come in,' sounded from the inside. I opened the door and stepped in. "This package-" Before the words could leave my mouth fully, I felt him pounce on me, dragging me towards the bed and trying to tear my clothes off at the same time. "What are you doing?! Let me go!" I struggled to pull myself free from him, but it was all in vain. His grip was too tight, holding me against him strongly. "Help!" I screamed, hoping, wishing, that anyone would hear me and come to my rescue.
"Hel-!" He suddenly pressed his palm against my mouth, cutting the word shut. "Come on now, baby," he said, breathing against my mouth as he shoved me to the bed. "Be calm and I promise to be gentle." "Let me go! Get your hands off me! Let me go!" I yelled, pushing against him furiously, but instead of releasing me, he slobbered kisses all over my face and I felt as if a worm was crawling on my skin. Suddenly, the door flew open, and facing me, looking at us was my mate - his face a cross between murderous rage and crippling shock. I quickly pushed Rick away from me and rushed towards my mate. Before I could get to him, however, he stepped backward. "So it's true? So this is really who you are?! You've been cheating on me all this while?" "No, George, listen-" "How dare you defile our relationship and the position you have as Luna of this pack?!" "No-" "I should have listened to my family from the beginning. Should have listened when they told me you were nothing but filth, nothing but a gold digger out for what she can get from anyone!" "George, what are you saying?! I was being assaulted! He tried to rape me! Why can't you see that?!" "You filthy liar," he growled. yeah "STOP!" Rick suddenly yelled, and then he asked me. "Who the hell is he?!" Without waiting for a response, he turned to George. "Who the hell are you? And how dare you break into my fun time with my girlfriend?!" "What?!" I asked, stunned. "What the hell are you saying?! Don't listen to him, George! Don't listen to him! I swear to you on the Moon Goddess's name that he was trying to assault me! I swear to you!" Before he could respond, the door opened again and Queen Rosina, George's stepmother, and Brittany, my half-sister, came in. "What's going on here?" asked Queen Rosina. Without taking his eyes off me, George replied, "You were right, Mother. She is nothing but a traitor and a liar. I caught them both on the bed." The Queen took one long look at Rick's half-naked form and my flushed face and shared a look with my sister. "Oh, I'm sorry that you're going through this, Alpha George," spoke Brittany, her voice pitiful and sympathetic. "We've been trying to tell you for a while now, but you just wouldn't listen to us." "That's right, George," added Queen Rosina, "It's a pain you couldn't see through her charade, but I'm glad that it's over now." "I am not a cheat!" I repeated. The Queen smirked. "You can tell yourself as much lies as you want, dear. If you weren't a cheat, what were you doing here, hmm? A stranger you barely know." I stared at her, stunned beyond words. "Wh-what are you talking about?" I turned to the queen and picked up the box on the floor - the box I had come to drop off for Rick - and extended it to her. "But you were the one who asked me to drop this off to him. You sent me." She flared up immediately. "Why trying to pull me into your web of lies?! How dare you make up stories against me, just so you can get yourself free from your treachery and deceit?!" "I am not lying!" I threw it back at her just as Brittany pulled the box away from my hand and tore it open. With a malicious and devilish smile, she raised the content for all to see. My heart dropped into my stomach as I saw it. It was a two-piece lingerie set. The bra cups were barely there, and the panties were utterly see-through. At the look on Queen Rosina's face, I immediately knew this was all planned. It was a set-up. I knew that Queen Rosina didn't approve of my union with George, but I didn't know it could get to this extent. "George, I swear to you. I didn't put that there." Rick spoke up, "Come off it, babe. The secret is out. No need to pretend. You did good though. You bought the exact thing I told you to buy." "Shut up!" I yelled through the tears streaming down my face and turned to George, ignoring the others. I wanted George to believe me. He was all that mattered. "George, please, believe me. I-" "Oh, shut up, girl," cut in the Queen. "Believe you? Do you want him to believe you? If you weren't having an affair, why would you come into another man's room with something so indecent?" She asked. I turned to my sister, my heart squeezed with pain but I knew she could help me out. "Brittany, you were there, right? You were there when the queen sent me to give the package to Rick, right?" I asked, hopefully, knowing her words would put everything straight, but to my utter horror, she shook her head, a sad and depressed look on her face. "No. No, Wendy, I can't do this anymore. I can't keep lying and covering up for you. I'm tired of supporting your lies." "What?" I barked like a mad woman, not wanting to believe my ears. "Brittany, what are you saying?!" "That you've been a cheat all this while," said my stepsister with a tone of finality. "What were you planning to do, Wendy?" the queen asked callously. "Were you planning to perform a strip-tease for him while your mate was a few feet away in another room?" "George, please don't listen to them!" I reached for my mate's hands tearfully but he jerked them away from them. Without another word, he turned his back to me and left the room.
WENDY'S POV As the door shut behind me, I immediately turned to Queen Rosina, tears streaming out of my eyes. "You have to go after him! You have to tell him the truth! Tell him what really happened, please! I beg you!" She only smirked. "Come off it, girl. You're not fooling anybody with your drama and antics. Everyone knows who you are now. You can't hide anymore." Desperate, I turned to Brittany. "Brittany, don't do this, please. You were there-" "Nope," my step-sister said, shaking her head. "Keep me out of your dramas, Wendy." "My drama?! Brittany, please.
You have to tell the truth! Why are you doing this? Why?! What have I ever done to you?!" "Done to me? Oh, please, shut up! Don't try and pretend as if you're a saint. Your time is up here." I clutched at the end of her skirt. "Brittany, stop this madness!" "I have no idea what you're talking about! Let go of me!" With that, she jerked herself free and left the room with the queen. Rick sneered at me. "Aren't you a pathetic sight to behold? If you had just lie low, maybe you wouldn'thave gotten in the bad books of the queen. Anyways, enjoy your broken marriage." With that, he grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt and left the room. I sank to the floor - disbelief, shock, and fear racing for dominance within me. Was I really going to lose George? Was I really going to let my marriage end like this? No, I wouldn't. I couldn't. He was my everything and I would be ruined if I lost him. I got up from the floor and headed out of the room. I heard voices downstairs and I went for the stairs, to the living room. They were all there. George, Brittany and Queen Rosina, then I saw my suitcases by the side of the door. "Wha - what are my bags doing there? Why did you bring my bags there? What's going on?" Queen Rosina sneered. "What? Oh, so you think an ordinary whore like you gets to stay here? You think a cheap good-for-nothing prostitute like you gets to stay here and lead the pack with George?!" she smirked. "You must be delusional!" I ignored her tirade and turned to the only person that mattered. "George, I swear to you that I never went into that man's room to cheat on you. I have never slept with him or anyone else in my life! I was framed! It was the queen who sent me to drop off the package to him! I didn't know what was inside! I swear to you!" He sneered at me coldly. "You will really say anything to get yourself out of this, won't you? Tell me. Did he fuck you good?" I felt myself burn from the roots of my hair to the soles of my feet. "George!" I said, appalled. "I'm telling you that I was set up!" "Why don't you spare us the angelic act, Wendy?!" Brittany suddenly caught in. "This is really who you are! Stop pretending!" "And what would the queen gain from setting you up, Wendy?" I shook my head, tears glistening in my eyes. "I don't know. I swear I don't know. But you have to believe me!" "Believe you? Believe a woman who threw away everything we've built together for years just for a few minutes of pleasure?" "No, George, please-!" "You can save your tears and your lies. It's over." "What? What do you mean? What-what do you mean it's over?!" I asked, my voice trembling. For an answer, he threw a set of papers at my feet and I bent and took them with trembling fingers. "Wh-what is it?" I asked, fear gripping me. "Divorce papers," replied George calmly as if he was talking about the weather as if the world wasn't spinning on its axis and falling apart around me. My breath hitched and as I spoke, my voice sounded different to me; as if it wasn't mine. "What do you mean divorce papers? How did you - When did you-?" "I called my lawyer immediately I left that room," he said then slammed the papers in front of me with a pen. "Sign them." "Yes," echoed the Queen triumphantly, "Sign the papers pack your rags, and leave this house!" But no, I wasn't about to give him up. I wasn't about to give up years of marriage with him because two people hated me. George and I had come a long way for that to happen. No, I wouldn't let them win. "I won't sign it. I won't. I haven't done anything wrong. I will not sign it." "You shameless good for nothing," he growled, his face a mass of pure anger and fury. "I am giving you a chance to go freely, a chance to cover up your shame, and yet you still defy me?!" "I'm not defying you, George! I have not done anything wrong!" "So you won't sign it?! Do you think this is all a joke?! It's funny to you?!" "What?! No! George -" "Since you won't sign it, then I have no choice but to reject you. Perhaps you will see the severity of your situation," he said, his voice calm and cold. The look in his eyes made me shiver in fear and I tried my best to ignore it. I wouldn't let fear win; I wouldn't let them win. "You- you won't do that to me. You can't," I stammered. "Oh, won't I? Why not try me and see?" I shook my head, not believing. This, this was not my husband. This was not the man that had captured my heart; this was not the man I had fallen irrevocably in love with. This was somebody else entirely. "I, George, the Alpha of Shadow Fangs reject you Wendy Ashton as my-" Seeing how serious he was, I shouted, "I'm pregnant!"
WENDY'S POV He stopped mid-sentence and the silence in the room seemed to swallow us both. "What did you just say?" He asked. I repeated the words, this time, a little bit firmer. "I'm pregnant with your child." The silence stretched on for a minute more, before, "Lies!" erupted the Queen. "Don't believe her, George! This is another one of her lies to sway things in her favor! Don't listen to her! She's not pregnant!" "It's true, Alpha George," said my devil of a half-sister. "She isn't pregnant. She's just trying to sway you.
Please don't believe her." "And even if you were pregnant," added the queen. "We all know it couldn't possibly be for George, you whore." Her words swung deep, but I gave my husband instead, gazing into his eyes for a glimpse of the man I once knew. I whispered again, gently and with tears this time, "I'm carrying your child, George. I'm pregnant. For you." For a minute, it seemed it was just George and I in the room, until Queen Rosina broke the silence. "Don't be swayed by her deceptive eyes, George," she barked harshly. "She's trying to fool you. I suggest you bring in the doctor now to have her tested and check if she's really pregnant!" Without taking his eyes off me, George agreed with his stepmother and ordered, "Summon the royal doctor." One of the guards did as told and we all waited for his return with the doctor. As I took my seat on the couch, tears flowed down my eyes as I remembered everything I had been through before I could get married to George. We had been lovers since our teenage years and George had been my number one supporter with everything. We had been really inseparable and we had only eyes for each other and it was clear that it would remainder so. When our peers came of age and started getting their wolves, I was the only one left out. I kept getting older, but yet, no wolf. That led to a lot of people trying to bully and shun me, but George stuck fast, always going out of his way to make sure I felt among and even going as far as fighting anyone who bothered me. It was a match made by the Goddess herself and I could remember thinking that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. At first, I had been worried too, because any werewolf without a wolf was more of a human than anything else and humans weren't really our cup of tea. George had noticed my fear and had assured me that he wanted me - with or without my wolf. When everyone saw that the relationship between us would lead to marriage and I still did not have my wolf, my hell on earth started. The elders of the pack, George's family and my aunt and uncle had stood vehemently against the union, saying I was not worthy to be called the mate of an Alpha. Instead, they had told George to marry Brittany, saying she would make a perfect Luna and bear him healthy pups - something a wolfless thing like me would find impossible to do. George had refused because he believed that our love was stronger than their pettiness, so we had gotten married, amidst grumbling and ill will. But even after the marriage, they had continued, pointing fingers at me, blaming me of things I didn't do, but George never believed them. Until now. I looked up, jolted from my reverie when I heard Queen Rosina welcome the royal doctor. "The doctor is here now, you wench. It's time to prove you wrong and put an end to your lies." "Please, come with me, Luna. I'll need to the your blood and urine samples," said the doctor. Tearily, I went with him and soon came back. Entering into the living room seemed like entering into an enemy's battleground. Hostile faces that wanted an end to me. Even my husband's. We all waited with bated breathe for the doctor to come back out. When he did, I swallowed, my palms wet and clammy. "Well," demanded Queen Rosina harshly. "What's your verdict, Doctor? Is she pregnant or not?" The doctor bowed his head with a little shake of his head, something like regret etched unto his face. "Sorry to say this, your majesty. The Luna is not pregnant." My heart jumped in my chest. "A-are you sure?" "I knew it," hissed the queen, cutting in before the doctor could get in a reply. "What do you mean is he sure?! Of course, he's sure. You're nothing but a cheap, lying pathetic whore. I rue the day George got married to you. I knew you were a bad person ever since I heard you came of age an didn't get your wolf. He would have been better getting married to a human!" Brittany also spoke. " Why did you have to go this length, Wendy? You'll do anything to keep up your lies and facade, won't you?" I shook my head, not allowing myself to believe to the doctor's words. They couldn't be true; he couldn't be serious. "No, no, that's not true. This is not true,George. I'm pregnant with your child," This was a nightmare - a nightmare threatening to engulf me and swallow me whole. I turned to my husband, quivering, "Goerge, please. You have to believe me. I'm pregnant." His face was stone cold, his eyes hardened against me as he said, "So what happened to the child? Did it mysteriously disappear from your belly?" He was waiting for a response so I shook my head silently with tears and whispered hoarsely, "I don't know. He could also-" "I presume the doctor is also lying, hmm?" he asked. "This is also a set up on the part of the doctor against you, right?" I fell from my chair and knelt at his feet. "George, please." I reached out to touch him but he yanked my hands away from him. "Don't you dare touch me with your filthy hands." "Please, George, don't do this to me. I could never betray you," I wept. "Please, George. You know I could never do this. It's all planned! I swear to you! It's all a set up!" He turned to me with disgust in his eyes. "Would you listen to yourself?! A set up?! Then tell me how they set your child up to disappear in your womb?!" I was unable to respond, the tears rolling down my cheeks without a pause. "You have twenty four hours to sign those papers and leave my house." With that, he kicked me away from his path and headed out the door. I sprang up and follow him, running behind him as he entered into his car. "George, please! Wait!" I rushed after his car, unaware of the coming truck behind me. A sudden screeching noise filled the air, and I found myself falling and then I saw blackness. **** I woke up to the sound of beeping. I opened my bleary eyes and looked around. I was in a hospital room, hooked to a monitor and an IV drip. What was going on? I wondered. Then I remembered the events of the past few hours. The royal doctor saying I was not pregnant; George demanding I sign the divorce papers and storming off; me rushing after him, and then finally that sudden horrible noise. I had been hit. Tears rolled down my eyes and unto the pillow as I thought of all that had happened. Was I really going to lose George? Were my enemies going to win at the end? The door opened and a nurse come in. She was taken aback as she saw my eyes wide open. "Oh, you're awake. How are you feeling now?" "What of my child?" Was my first sentence to her, because I knew I was pregnant, despite what the royal doctor had said. "Is my baby alright?" I saw the answer in her eyes before she opened her mouth. "I'm sorry, ma'am. We did the best we could but it was too late. You lost the baby."
