Fourteen years have passed but I'm yet to regain my freedom. A slave Omega I will remain....one that is maltreated and abused by the evil Alpha. My only shot at redemption is finding my right mate.

Chapter 1 The Massacre

It was written in the ancient text; an eye for an eye, an ear for an ear and life for life. That was the type of Justice I seek ever since my father was killed in cold blood, and my mother was beaten and abused right before my eyes. I was only a child and could do nothing but watch and cry as the gloomy night unfolded with evil.

The heavy rainfall, thunder and harsh lightning marred the horrible scene of that unforgettable night.

Yes, such it was that every time it rains heavily with thunder and lightning, I will be reminded of the horrors of that fateful night.

I could go on and on and tell you all the pain in my heart. But that wouldn't be appropriate without telling you my name and who I am.

My name is Elena and this is my story. I'm 22 years old and the only surviving member of my pack. Life has never been kind to me ever since I arrived in my new pack where I was abused, cursed and beaten almost daily.

Of course, it has never always been like this, it all started the night Alpha Khan's pack invaded ours and massacred everyone who stood on their path.

I was only 8 years old at that time and had no idea my pack had a rival who was bent on wiping them off the face of the earth. All of that happened just because Alpha Khan was obsessed with to posess an item that has always been in our pack's custody.

That night was as peaceful as always. Not long ago, mother had given me butter pie which I munched with pleasure and happiness.

It was raining heavily which means that every member of my pack was inside, fantasizing and wishing the rain could stop soon.

I did not think that the rain should stop. I like it but I hate the sound of thunder and indiscriminate flash of lightning. Nothing makes my heart leap in fear like hearing those harsh sounds. Nevertheless, I endured the whole show.

I had just finished eating my butter pie and was heading straight to the kitchen to demand more from mother when I heard her scream.

I was terrified. I have never heard my mother scream that way before.

I stood still in shock and await what happens next.

Father ran past me on his way to the kitchen to find out what happened to mother.

About half a minute after my mother screamed, and more screams were heard across the members of my pack. It could only mean that there was trouble in paradise. It was only when I heard the sound of a battle cry did I realize that we were under an attack.

Terrified by what was happening, I could have fled. Nevertheless, I inched closer to the kitchen door. I saw my father being brutalized by some men with scary faces. Mother was not left alone either, she was pushed and beaten until she stopped moving.

Father tried to defend her by fighting back but he was outnumbered and could barely save himself let alone save my mother.

At the slightest opportunity he got, he turned towards me and told me to run.

"Run, Elena! Run my dear daughter.... save yourself!" shouted father. That was the voice of a desperate dying man.

I was only a child, and lacked the will to flee. I was weeping loudly and so were the other members of our pack who were being killed one after another.

He repeated his words this time with a fading voice yet, I couldn't obey him.

How can I part from my loving father and mother in the face of death?

I watched as the scary men beat father before one of them stabbed him in the belly right in front of me and said. "This one is for you poor little girl!"

"You are next!" said the second man.

I needed no more explanation about what he meant. It was at that juncture, I took to my heels. It was an escape to no defined destination.

I ran through the forest barefooted on my tiny legs while it was still raining. The lightning and thunder have not stopped but only intensified.

There I was, in the middle of the wood terrified. I had no clue about what to do. I only kept running as long as my strength could sustain me.

I did not rule out that the men who killed my father and mother and massacred all the members of my pack will not come after me.

I knew I was next in line to die. Whoever the enemy was, they were bent on wiping us all out.

Having exhausted all my strength while running away to save my life, I paused, to catch some breath.

I assumed it was safe to take some breath under the heavy rain with flashes of lightning and the rumbling sounds of the thunder.

I never knew I was making a big mistake.

Suddenly, I began hearing strange footsteps approaching my location from all corners.

It must be them, I thought. They must have come after me.

l took to my heels again but I was unaware of another danger waiting for me.

As I was running, I slipped my foot down a sloppy ground in the woods. I fell into a pit. It was pretty big, I landed very hard on the ground and passed out.

The only thing I remembered next was waking up with a tiny stream of water running down my head.

Strange men were surrounding the pit which I had fallen into. With them, were fire torches in their left hands

I was only recalling my memory and so could not ascertain who they were until one of the men spoke.

"Daddy's Little girl has awoken!" scorned one of the men. The rest of the men began to laugh.

It dawned on me that they were the barbarians.....Yes, the barbarians who have taken my pack out.

I knew I was next to kiss the edge of their swords.

Left with no options, I began crying in great fear. It was obvious I was going to be killed. It was one of the tensest moments of my life.

"Take her out of the pit, and I will have the honour of plunging my sword through her belly myself," continued the man who had scorned me earlier.

They picked me out from the pit like a little ant. One of the men grabbed my hair with great force. They cared less about my young age....they were simply inhumane monsters, who were out to kill.

Chapter 2 Mother-Ring-Of-Power

The executor raised his sword and was about to thrust it through my belly when someone intervened.

"Hold on...not yet time!" said a voice not far from the scene. I looked in the direction of the stranger to see who he was.

"We will keep her!" continued the voice.

I did not take my eyes off the figure that had intervened to save my poor life. But who was he?

He walked slowly in our direction the whole time he was speaking. Soon, I was able to see his face. It was not something good to talk about. I could see the evil look and horrible scars on his face.

The other men gave way as he approached me with a stern face. He was no doubt, the leader of the evil pack. He made a stop right in front of me. He pulled my tiny hands and held them for a few minutes.

My heart was beating fast. I was more than terrified.

Was he going to kill me now or will he keep to his words to spare my life? I could not understand the purpose of holding my hands.

"Come, little one...come to me... don't be afraid," he said with a low evil voice.

"Please don't, don't kill me!" I cried at last.

My tears never stopped flowing as I begged for my life

He let go of one of my hands and moved back while keeping his eyes on me. Then he stopped and said, "I will not kill you but you will wish you are dead by the time I'm done with you...poor little girl!"

There came a flash of lightning and thunder immediately after he was done speaking.

I was further terrified.

"You will regret this Alpha Khan if you keep her alive," came a voice. It was one of the men with Alpha Khan. "She will come back for revenge! She will hunt us day and night until she avenges the blood of the people we murdered. Seize this opportunity and finish what we have started!" continued the man.

Alpha Khan turned in the direction of the man. "We must keep her alive, Marion! That's my order!" he told them with a harsh voice.

"Why Khan...why keep her alive?...the girl is a danger!" complained another one of his men.

"Because her father is alive!" shouted Khan at his men.

There was absolute silence among his men as they stare at their leader in disbelief. Perhaps, Khan was not being sincere with them.

"You saw when we gave him the beating of his life before I plunged my sword down his belly, how could you then allege that the girl's father is alive?" queried Marion.

"Let me have the Mother-ring of powers!" Khan stretched out one of his hands towards Marion amid the latter's query. Khan was in anticipation of the ring he requested for.

Marion was also known as the executor. He appeared to be elevated above others within the pack expect of course, Alpha Khan.

He dropped a ring on Khan's palm.

It made Alpha Khan temporarily satisfied until he took a closer look at the ring on his palm. Suddenly, the exciting look on his face changed drastically.

"You have been cheated, fools!" he hurled, "this is not the mother-ring of powers!"

Khan got very furious. He approached the Marion who had given him the fake ring and pulled him from below. The victim's legs were no longer touching the ground, he was simply suspended in the air by the almighty strength of Alpha Khan.

It was an intense moment nevertheless, he let go of his victim. The Marion's back landed hard on the ground. He groaned in pain.

Alpha Khan turned to the other men furiously. He has been provoked bitterly. His anger seemed untamed.

"Do any one of you still have something to say!" he asked.

None of his men replied to him lest they encounter the same fate as Marion whom Alpha Khan had decimated.

No one dared say a word. They all gazed at him in awe.

"Very good... that's what I thought," continued Alpha Khan, "Now, listen good, the man we fought tonight appeared to be dead but he wasn't! He escaped after you injured him...It's a shame that none of you could get a clean cut!"

"No, Khan!" interrupted Marion expressing shock, "I killed him!"

"You did... indeed, you did an unfinished task!" Khan smirked. "While we kill other members of his pack, I turned around and his supposedly dead body was nowhere to be found!" he paused and glanced at the face of his men and continued, "can anyone of you tell me what happened to him?"

"Alpha Milo, ( that was my father's name--Milo) was probably taken away by a member of his pack who survived to be buried," replied one of Khan's men.

The expression on Alpha Khan's face tells it all...he was not happy at the answer that was given to him. He turned angrily to stare at the man who had given him the possible answer to his question. "He is not dead, fool!" cursed Alpha Khan. "Alpha Milo, just like a cockroach has seven lives and you have just let his seventh life slipped away!" he shouted at the man.

All his men lowered their faces in fear, no one dared to look at him or tell him he was wrong. Such a careless attempt is sure to come with severe repercussions if anyone dares.

Afraid of the traumatic scene I was witnessing as a little girl, I squeaked into tears and was in great fear. I quickly reminded the savages that I was still in their tormenting custody. "Let me go home!" I cried with a shaky tearful voice.

It was then that Khan's attention was turned to me again. He turned towards my direction and take a brief walk. He stopped only a meter away from me.

"But, daddy's little girl, there is no home for you...It has been wonderfully and beautifully destroyed by me...So now, there is no more home for you," said Alpha Khan, mimicking the voice of a little girl. He was throwing a jab at me.

"I Just wanna go home...let me go!..let me go!" I never stopped protesting amid my endless tears. I was only a helpless little girl, left with no option of how to defend myself. Every passing second becomes gloomy. My fate was undecided.

"What do we do with the girl now?" asked one of his men.

"We keep her... stupid!" answered Khan. "As long as we have her with us, Alpha Milo will come back for her. In that way, we get a second chance to kill him and retrieve the mother-ring -of-powers!"

It was obvious I was never gonna go home again. I have become an orphan, a prisoner and a bet for my father if indeed he was still alive as claimed by Alpha Khan. Yet somehow, my hope stayed alive, my father was never gonna give up on me. I believe he will return for vengeance and to set me free. It was probably going to take days or so but not so long. I was taken to their pack.

Chapter 3 Terror On Every Side!

It has been more than 14 years ever since I was brought to Alpha Khan's pack. I was treated like a slave right from my arrival but, I never complained... I dare not lest my punishment will be increased. Two individuals will see to that even if the other members of the pack decline to lay their hands on me. These two individuals were Faran and Allan.

Faran and Allan are Alpha Khan's two sons. Under them, life turned bitter and very ugly. There was nothing absolutely good to talk about my life under them. Although Allan was less evil than his elder brother, I still believed that his little fit of kindness to me in mostly in secret was not genuine. Nevertheless, he was better than Faran who would expect me to do all the house chores on an empty stomach, abuses, physical assault and pain.

Sometimes I thought about escaping but, then the repercussions of such an attempt will be swift and severe if I ever get caught. I was living in a constant state of fear.

Each time, I remember my life under my previous pack, my heart melts and my eyes filled with tears. The love and peace I enjoyed during those good days reminds me how bad my misery had become under Khan's pack. However, since I can not help myself, the only option left was to let fate decide.

The words spoken by Alpha Khan that night my pack was invaded have always kept my hope alive... a hope of freedom. Alpha Khan believed my father was not dead and that he will return to fight for me. In that way, Alpha Khan will get another chance to fight my father and gain the Mother-ring of power.

It is believed that whoever controls the Mother-ring of power, controls the world of the Lycans. Father never used the Mother-ring of power because of the evil that comes with it. Instead, he has been guiding it for many years and prevented it from falling into wrong hands until Khan and his pack attacked.

Father will rather die than let the Mother-ring of power fall into the hands of power-drunk Alpha Khan. The world will never remain the same again if Khan gets hold of the Mother-ring of power.

Well, it's been more than 14 years now and father was still nowhere to be found.

It was painful and heartbreaking that I was at the receiving end of this whole mess.

Just like every other day for the past 14 years today, I found myself cleaning the hallway of the building. I was scrubbing the floor for more than 3 hours none stop. Having felt some fatigue under my muscles, I decided to take a few minutes of rest before resuming but, that rest was short-lived. Nevertheless, I found a glass cup containing clean water and began drinking it to quench my thirst.

All of a sudden, I heard someone whispered my name. I paused at once to see who was calling.

"Elena! Elena... hurry up... get up, they are coming!" whispered the voice.

The whisperer was no one else but Sarah. She was abducted from her pack, just like me at a tender age. We have been friends ever since she arrived...that was because the two of us were subjected to almost the same harsh treatment.

"Who is coming?" I asked with a low still voice to avoid being detected by whoever was coming.

"They!" she said, "they coming this way," she continued.

"Who are they?" I asked, slightly confused.

I thought Sarah was referring to Alpha Khan. "Is it Alpha Khan?"

"Nooo! isn't! but his sons!... Faran and Allan... they are coming this way. I just spotted them on their way down here from the garden," explained Sarah with tension and panic in her voice.

"Whaaat!" I exclaimed and dropped the glass cup in my left hand onto the hard floor. It splashed violently sending different parts of it in several directions of the mobbed floor, with brittle sounds.

I was sure that the careless mistake will land me in serious trouble with Faran and his brother when they arrive.

"Why didn't you inform me earlier... why didn't you tell me on time?" I shivered while asking. The fear in me was overwhelming.

"But, I just told!" whispered Sarah with a worried look on her face, as if I did not heed her warning on time.

"Yeah, you just told me... you did! But that was not enough to save me from this mess!" I cried out to her while pointing at the shattered pieces of the glass cup on the already mobbed floor.

"Are you saying it was my fault?" she asked with a low aggressive voice.

It was as if we were arguing.

"I never said that but you should have done better!" I countered.

"How am I supposed to do it better when I informed you on time?"

By mere judgment, Sarah was right, she has committed no offence whatsoever. If anyone was to be blamed for my shortcomings, it was me. I had failed to live up to my task of mobbing the whole floor before Faran and Allan comes for inspection. Perhaps, I was not one hundred per cent of myself because of the hard chores I did the day before. I must have been exhausted. I have no choice but to keep working to keep punishment away from me. But did I, especially now that a broken cup is conspicuously on the floor?

"Why don't you give me a helping hand instead of standing there and claiming your innocence!" I lashed at her.

"Oh, that's true... that was what you should have asked for and not whining the whole time!" she replied and quickly joined me to begin picking the broken pieces of the glass cup on the floor.

My heart was greatly troubled. Even though Sarah was giving me a helping hand, I strongly believed that we were in no chance of cleaning my whole mess before Allan and Faran arrives.

I panicked as we packed them. My hands trembled while my heart beat faster.

The last time, Faran found me in a related mess, he made going to hell look like child's play. And now I'm at it again...only God knows my obscure fate ahead when they arrived. It was going to be a terror on every side.
