Chapter 1 Who Is It

Louisa's POV

I was on my knees, and sitting across from me in the rowdy clubhouse was the wealthiest, most powerful Alpha in the whole realm.

But he was also my husband.

At least in my previous life he was.

Before I caught him cheating with my best friend's sister and they connived to kill me. Now, he was my ruthless boss.

And the strangest part?

He looked exactly the same. Same face I'd recognize anywhere. Same eyes and same fucking name.

But this Eric Breeze was a werewolf.

Up until today, I didn't even know such a world existed. Werewolves were a myth, and I lived in the real world, with real people. But things changed for me in the blink of an eye.

Now, I lived among them. I was still human, but everyone I thought I knew from my past life was a werewolf now.

How did I end up here?

~~~~
I burst out of the house in a rush. I didn't even notice I was wearing two completely different pairs of slippers as I jumped straight into the car and drove out of the compound.
My head was in turmoil, my heart beating so fast, it felt like it would jump out any minute now, and my hands were shaking badly as I gripped the steering tighter.
It couldn't be.
Eric would never do something like that to me. Not after everything I sacrificed for him. But the video was still sitting completely still in my phone, my husband's arm around a strange woman.
Unmistakable.
The message had been short, precise: Come to Luxmen hotel immediately and see for yourself.
I had been getting such messages for weeks now, from an anonymous source, all crafted to paint my loving husband as nothing but a shameless cheat. I always ignored it and deleted every one because I completely trusted Eric and would never believe any ill talk about him.
Except tonight, there was evidence, and it had looked too real to be photoshopped. I didn't want to believe it.
Eric loved me. He would never.
Not after I gave him everything. My trust, my company, my family's legacy, my entire future.
He wouldn't.
Whoever was slandering my husband was surely going to pay if it turned out they were wrong and I was being misled. The car seemed to be flying on air and it didn't take long for me to reach the five-star hotel.
I jumped out of the car and practically sprinted into the building.
I stopped in front of the reception desk and tapped hastily on it. The receptionist was a tall, lanky young guy with glasses perched on his nose.
He lifted his head up and slowly ran his eyes over my face, questioningly. Probably wondering what the trophy wife of billionaire businessman Eric Breeze was doing looking restless and desperate in front of him.
"How may I help you, ma'am?"
I still remembered the room that accompanied the text and I didn't waste time in asking for it.
"Room 209, I'm here for my husband." I said breathlessly.
The receptionist turned to his computer, typing for a few agonizing seconds before looking back up.
"Ah, yes. Mr Breeze is currently occupying room 209, but it doesn't say here that he's expecting a visitor. His status says he's actually quite busy right now."
I bit the inside of my cheek till it stung.
I hated to do this, but desperate times called for desperate measures and I needed to make sure my husband was really just busy with work, or else I would run mad any minute now.
"I am his wife." I said, forcing my voice to sound firm. "And Eric called me here himself. You can call his suite to confirm."
I didn't know why I said that last part, maybe to sound more convincing.
What were the chances he would actually call?
The receptionist gave me another curious look, his eyes narrowing like he didn't quite believe me before he drew back and nodded.
"If you say so,"
To my utmost dismay, he picked up the landline phone on his desk and my breath hitched. "I'll confirm from Mr Breeze. Give me a minute."
I nodded, holding my breath as I watched him closely.
Oh, dear!
This could go really bad and blow up in my face if Eric picked up that call and denied sending for me, I would look like a crazy, insecure wife stalking her husband.
And if Eric did come to realize why I lied, he would be so devastated that I couldn't even have faith in him.
I opened my mouth to tell the receptionist to forget it, but before I could speak, he set the receiver back down himself.
"That's weird, he isn't answering. I suppose it's fine for you to go up. Here,"
He handed me the key card for the room and I took it with a rushed 'thank you', then bolted down the hallway leading to the elevator.
The hotel was a long-term corporate partner of our company and since it wasn't very far, Eric usually frequented the place whenever he was too busy to come home.
I reached room 209. My fingers trembled as I swiped the key card in place. The door clicked open and I was met with silence.
"Eric?" I called out slowly, walking in.
Nothing. Just more silence.
Where was he?
I stepped deeper into the suite and nearly stumbled when my feet caught something carelessly placed on the ground near the kitchen island. I looked down to see it was a plain, brown takeaway bag crumbled on the floor.
Since when did Eric eat takeaway?
Especially while staying at a luxury hotel with five-star room service?
I bent down to pick it up and everything became even more confusing because it didn't look like something from a food brand.
It didn't have a commercial logo.
It looked... homemade.
That was when my eyes caught the dinning table. Two glasses, and two plates with leftover food in them.
My breath caught and I took another step. A woman's handbag sat near the sofa. My stomach twisted, but I kept walking.
Then I heard it,
Chapter 2 Her
Louisa's POV
It was very faint at first, coming from deeper inside the suite and I froze in place. I pushed the thoughts away and resumed walking, my ears perked up on high alert.
I turned the corner when I heard it again, louder and clearer. The sound didn't come from the study where I was going in the hope of finding Eric. It came from the bedroom just a few steps away from where I was standing.
Was Eric perhaps in there?
With his guest?
I walked swiftly forward till I was standing right in front of the bedroom door then I pressed my ears against the wood. I heard the sound again. It was my husband's voice and it sounded like a groan.
My hand reached for the door and I hesitated. Some foolish part of me was still in denial. Actively praying that the man I loved wasn't betraying me.
I took a deep breath and twisted the knob.
Big mistake.
Or
Best decision ever.
Really, it depended on how you looked at it, but based on the scene in front of me, I didn't even know what to think or believe or even understand.
I couldn't breathe.
Couldn't move.
For several seconds, I just stared, trying to make sense of what was happening.
Why was Eric on the bed with a woman, both of them naked?
And what was she doing on his lap with both their eyes closed, and his hands on her waist?
Why was he kissing her with the lips meant for me? Touching her with the hands meant for me?
Was I dreaming?
They were too immersed in whatever it seemed they were doing to notice me.
What was really going on?
Surely, I'd walked into the wrong room. Or maybe my mind was playing a nasty, not-funny trick on me.
There was no way Eric, my Eric whom I loved with everything in me, cherished more than I did myself, was doing something so horribly wrong to me.
No!
I refused to believe my husband would hurt me as deeply as this by sleeping with another woman.
I was his wife, right!
He shouldn't be with someone else.
But what was happening before my very eyes was as real as it got. I noticed their clothes discarded on the ground and my eyes stayed fixed on the red dress that I knew belonged to the woman.
It was the same dress from the video which meant she was the same woman with Eric in that video. The video had shown both of them coming out of his car, his arms around her and her body pressed tightly against his.
I had clearly seen my husband's face but the woman's had been a mystery I was hoping to uncover by coming here.
But now, maybe coming here wasn't the best idea.
I couldn't explain the searing pain that tore through my chest as the sounds from them reached me. Deafeningly loud and undeniably real.
Would I be pathetic to admit that I had suspected this exact scene when I first heard the sounds? Heck, when I first saw the video?
I badly didn't want to believe it and deceiving myself just felt like the easiest choice.
Tears rolled down my face as I slowly opened my mouth.
"E...ric,"
The single word escaped my lips, so low I almost didn't hear myself say it. My throat was all dry and parched, my eyes stinging, and I really needed to sit down to fully digest what was happening.
They didn't hear my call, too lost in each other to care about anything else.
I spoke again, louder this time, letting my anger and hurt bleed through.
"Eric!"
They jolted and jerked away from each other so fast that their close contact pulled them back and they slammed their foreheads together.
"Ow," The woman winced, rubbing her forehead as they scrambled apart and dragged the duvet over their bare bodies.
"What are you doing here? Y-you're supposed to be..."
Eric scrambled for words and my heart broke even louder in my ears as I just stared at him.
I handed this man an empire.
And this was what I got?
"Baby, please calm down." He looked like a deer caught in headlight.
Baby.
The word should have comforted me. It used to make me giggle but instead, it made my stomach twist.
"What is going on?" My voice shook. "Tell me this is a nightmare, Eric!"
"I can explain." Eric reached toward me but before he could get any closer, the woman caught his wrist and pulled him back.
She'd been quiet all through and hiding her face like she didn't want me to know who she was just yet.
My eyes narrowed as she turned around to lie back against the bed. Her face became completely visible to me and a sharp, bitter chuckle tore from my throat at who it was. I looked from her to Eric and back in disbelief.
You have got to be kidding me.
She just smiled at me.
I turned my glazed, widened eyes to Eric again, who was looking everywhere but directly at me like he had just been caught doing something he shouldn't be doing by the very person who was never supposed to find out.
"Her? Are you kidding me?!" My heart sank.
This was too much. I didn't deserve it. I know I wasn't the best person in the world but I've also never done anything remotely bad to deserve this kind of treatment from these two.
I really did love Eric. Genuinely and with all my heart, I've never made him question choosing me, so why?
My hurt slowly transformed into raw anger. I needed answers and I needed them now or else I was going to burn this entire room to the ground with all of us in it.
And no, this wasn't me bluffing.
I meant every single word.
Chapter 3 How Could You
Louisa's POV
Petunia's lips curled into a wicked smirk and there was a twinkle in her eyes that told just how much she was enjoying this and was anything but remorseful after being caught.
"You, calm down baby. I'll do the talking." She said to Eric then placed a brief, deep kiss to his lips.
Right in front of me.
I watched in sheer horror and disbelief as Eric laid back, smiling like a fool and forgetting all about me in an instant.
"You..."
Petunia folded her arms. "Me, what? Are you seriously surprised?"
"You're sleeping with my husband? How evil could you possibly be, Petunia? How could you?" She just laughed in my face.
I turned my attention back on Eric who looked as if none of this concerned him and I was merely throwing a tantrum.
"How could you stoop so low, Eric? What did I do to deserve this from you? What?"
"Oh, please. Don't act so pitiful now, no one has any fucks to give. What? You thought you were going to keep him forever?" Her eyes travelled over me.
"He's my husband!" I yelled.
"Quiet down, hag and spare me the crap." She glared. "It's story time. I'll keep this as brief as possible while breaking it down into bits so it gets through to your thick skull and hopefully, it reaches your dead brain."
Excuse me?
Did she just?...
"You see, Eric and I are deeply in love. We've been sneaking around for so long and I think it's just great that you finally found out after so many years."
What?
Did she just say years?
"Eric, how long has this been going on? How long have you been sleeping with this...this girl?" I turned back to him swiftly but he didn't reply.
"How long, you bastard!!" I screamed.
"She said to quiet down, Louisa." Eric's voice was laced with warning when he finally met my eyes and my already broken heart throbbed painfully in my chest.
He just called me Louisa.
Not love, not baby, not wifey.
Louisa.
Petunia rose from the bed slowly, the duvet draped over their naked bodies fell from her as she walked forward, completely shameless. She picked up a green robe and slipped into it in one move.
"You're disgusting. Both of you. I can't believe you would do such a thing, Petunia. I know you never liked me but this? It's very low, even for you. Karen would be so disappointed to have a shameless, home-wrecking bitch for a sister." I spat and her smug look disappeared.
The next thing she did, I barely saw it coming.
Her hand flew and connected straight, clean with my cheek in a loud crack.
"Don't you dare mention my sister! You couldn't keep your man and I took him, what's so wrong with that? He gets better sex from me, he gets all the love and care he could ever want. All the things you can't give because you're an ugly, barren, old witch. Don't think mentioning my sister will make me scared and cower Louisa, Karen won't do shit and neither will you." She spat bitterly.
I staggered back from the slap but immediately gathered myself and returned it.
I sent two more in quick succession and she let out a loud, dramatic cry of pain, falling to the ground.
"Never raise your smelly hands against me ever again, slut." I glared down at her. "Heaven knows what I would have done to you if your sister wasn't my best friend."
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Eric pushed me away from her before I could even track his movement and his hand connected with my cheek, right over where she'd struck as he returned the slaps I just gave her.
My back hit the wall as I stumbled from the force of it. My neck snapped to the side from his slap, severe pain that had nothing to do with the slap, coursing through my whole body.
I touched my cheek slowly and looked back at Eric in disbelief, hurt swimming in my eyes.
He'd never hit me before.
Not once. The betrayal stung. The pain reached places I didn't even know could feel such excruciating pain.
"Y...ou, you slapped me? For her? You just slapped me for a slut, Eric! A lowly mistress, are you kidding me?!"
I looked around frantically for anything, and when my eyes found the bedside lamb, I crossed over immediately and grabbed it, raising it up threateningly.
"Put that down, Louisa. Stop making a scene." Eric sounded too unbothered like he wasn't threatened by me in the least.
I hurled it at him in anger, mostly to prove that I could do it, and more.
Unfortunately, they both ducked right on time and the lamb crashed against the wall. Gritting my teeth in disappointment, I lunged at them again and jumped on Eric, clawing his face with my nails.
"You bitch!"
I was able to draw blood before he shoved me away but I rushed him again. This time with a blow to his nose.
Eric grabbed me by the hair aggressively, and hurled me across the room, sending me crashing against the thick walls right beside the lamb.
"Aah!" I screamed when the shattered glass pierced my skin, drawing blood.
"Have you lost your goddamn mind?" He shouted and I flinched, like I was still the docile wife who hated when he raised his voice.
I was no longer that woman and Eric was no longer that loving husband.
"Stop acting like an animal, Louisa. Have some dignity." Eric spat like I was the problem.
I ignored his hypocritical comment and attacked them again. Pushing the pain away, I refocused my attention to the man-snatcher.
I flew across the room with strength and agility I had no idea I possessed, until now. I delivered a hard kick to Petunia and it caught her right in the gut, she doubled over with a loud scream.
Eric gasped in horror and rushed to her side. He cradled her face lovingly, looking nothing like the man that just called his own wife a bitch.
Petunia's face squeezed in agony as she clutched her tummy tighter. "T...the baby, Eric." A strangled cry tore from her lips as she whimpered, clinging tightly to him.
My eyes widened.
Baby?
