Chapter 1 Rebirth

The sea breeze brushed against her face, and the sound of birds chirped in the distance.

"Just dump her here. What a stroke of bad luck."

"Dying on this ship is going to cause me so much trouble. We need to get rid of her now".

Tatiana struggled to open her eyes. Suddenly, she was thrown out by a force, and she began to plummet rapidly.

Thud!

Her body crashed into the deep blue sea!

Her consciousness began to fade...

Suddenly-

The woman floating in the water snapped her eyes open.

Tatiana smirked, her eyes glinting with cold light and murderous intent.

She quickly absorbed the memories flooding into her mind.

She had been reborn in a parallel world, where the original owner shared her name and even her appearance.

The original Tatiana had been arranged by her stepmother to be thrown onto a boat headed for another city.

She had developed peritonitis and, when she was about to die the captain decided to toss her into the sea at just 18 years old.

As the world's number one assassin, now that she has taken over ths body, she was determined to take revenge!

She must find who tried to kill her in her previous life and so find out who killed the previous owner's mother.

From the memories she received it seems that her mother's death was orchestrated.

Tatiana narrowed her eyes and noticed something unusual in the water nearby-a gray dorsal fin was appearing and disappearing.

It was a tiger shark!

Tiger sharks were swimming fast towards Tatiana from all directions.

She remembered suddenly that the original had secretly carried a dagger with her.

Drawing it out, she aimed for the nearest shark's eye and plunged the blade in without hesitation...

After a while, the sea was littered with the bodies of the tiger sharks.

"Splash-" was the sound of a dagger hitting the water.

This body was too weak; if it were her original body, she wouldn't feel so exhausted.

Just then, a small boat finally appeared on the endless sea.

Tatiana swam with all her might toward it.

On the boat lay a man in his twenties, completely still, his fate unknown.

She climbed onto the inflatable boat and checked his breathing-he was still alive.

As she examined his face more closely, she noticed his smooth, fair skin and perfectly sculpted features.

This face was definitely to her liking.

However, his lips had an unusual bluish tint.

Tatiana checked his pulse; it was weak, indicating he had been poisoned for a long time.

An injury on his arm had caused the poison to flare up.

She glanced around and jumped back into the sea, quickly diving to the bottom. She gathered a few plants and climbed back onto the boat.

She selected some leaves, crushed them together, and applied the mixture to his wound.

Ten minutes later, his injury suddenly swelled alarmingly.

Without hesitation, she took her dagger and gently cut open the swollen skin. Dark blood oozed out, and she leaned down to suck the blood from his wrist, spitting out the tainted blood afterward.

She tore off some of his clothing and quickly bandaged him up.

She wasn't some kind-hearted healer; she just thought it would be a shame for someone so handsome to die.

After a while, she checked his pulse again, and it was noticeably stronger.

In her previous life, although she was an assassin, she was also a skilled healer. This poison was potent, but to her, it was nothing she couldn't handle.

At that moment, the man coughed a few times and slowly opened his eyes.

His gaze instantly turned icy, and he swiftly pulled out a dagger, pointing it at her with decisive and fierce movements.

Tatiana frowned. Was he serious? This guy wanted to kill his savior the moment he woke up?

Maxim squinted slightly, his voice hoarse. "Who are you?"

"Watch your knife."

Her voice was soft, but there was an underlying chill that could be felt through it.

Only then did Maxim get a good look at the girl's face. Her features were striking, with delicate brows and captivating eyes that sparkled like an endless galaxy, mysterious and alluring, making one instinctively want to draw closer.

Maxim was momentarily taken aback, a flicker of surprise crossing his eyes. "Why does she look so familiar, she-".

Before he could think further, she spoke again, "I'm your savior."

"Savior?" Maxim frowned in response.

Tatiana remained calm. "You have a condition. Don't you know? Or do you want me to spell it out for you".

Maxim's expression turned cold in an instant. "Are you looking for trouble?"

"I guess you often suffer from amnesia at night, and no one can help you with it," Tatiana said, raising an eyebrow as she tended to the wound on her leg.

Maxim remained silent, but the slight widening of his pupils betrayed his emotions.

"That poison is called Heart Eater, and I've already neutralized it for you," Tatiana said cryptically.

Maxim's voice was icy as he asked, "How do you know all this?"

Tatiana feigned mystery, replying, "Some secrets are not meant to be revealed."

Maxim's expression remained cautious.

Suddenly, Tatiana frowned, a sharp pain gripping her abdomen in waves. Damn it, this body is too weak; the appendicitis was flaring up.

Seeing her distress, Maxim noticed shedidn't seem to be pretending. "What's wrong with you?" he asked.

Before she could respond, she fainted.

Immediately, he pressed the button attached to his bracelet to give signals to his crew.

"Sir, are you okay?. We are coming in now. His secretary's sounded from afar.

Tatiana's opened, staring at her environment but before she could utter a word, she fainted again.

Someone was approaching.

Tatiana suddenly opened her eyes and grabbed the arm of the person coming near her.

"Ouch! That hurts! You need to calm down ma'am" exclaimed a middle-aged man in a white coat.

From the doctor, she learned that after she had passed out, her bodyguard found Maxim and brought both of them onto the ship. Maxim had asked the doctor to help her recover.

"You're awake," a deep voice said.

Chapter 2 Think Carefully

Tatiana turned to see a man walking in from the doorway.

He had changed into a white shirt andblack pants, his tall figure exuding an impressive presence that made it clear he was no ordinary man.

The middle-aged doctor quietly slipped out of the room.

Maxim stepped closer to her, his voice sharp and clear, "Why were you out at sea?"

He hadn't missed the sight of the tiger shark carcasses floating on the water.

That area of the ocean had only contained the two of them, and here was an eighteen-year-old girl who somehow managed to take down so many tiger sharks on her own.

She was no ordinary person!

Tatiana raised an eyebrow. "My stepmother wanted me dead and tossed me onto a ship bound for another country. I developed peritonitis and was thrown overboard. I happened to see your ship, climbed aboard, and saved you. The rest is none of your business."

Maxim furrowed his brow. He had learned from the doctor that the poison in his system had indeed been neutralized. She had really saved him.

Maxim's dark eyes were fixed on her, as if he were weighing the truth of her words.

Tatiana met his gaze head-on.

"Don't worry, I've cured your poison, and you helped treat my peritonitis. We're even now, and I won't bother youanymore."

But Maxim shook his head, holding up two fingers. "You owe me two lives."

"What? You're joking right? I only have one life, how can I be owing you two lives?"

A smirk appeared on Maxim's handsome face as he leaned closer to her, patiently explaining, "If it weren't for my kayak, you would have drowned in the sea long ago."

His striking features suddenly loomed large before her.

Tatiana couldn't help but take a step back, her luscious lips forming the words, "That's a stretch. Fine, what do you want?"

But somehow, he did have a point?

"I can protect you," Maxim said, handsin his pockets, his peachy lips slowly uttering, "You could become mine. We just have to get married."

Tatiana was furious. As he turned away, she kicked him hard, cursing, "Pervert! Gosh I just saved you and you're ready to perform?"

To her surprise, he was quicker than he looked.

Maxim sidestepped her kick, trying to grab her ankle, but Tatiana seized the moment, using her other leg to strike at his elbow.

Her movements tugged at the wound in her abdomen, causing pain that distracted her momentarily.

In that instant, she found herself pinned to the hospital bed by Maxim.

The distance between them was minimal, and they could feel each other's breath.

Tatiana, however, seemed oblivious to the situation, still angrily shouting, "Pervert! Pervert! Pervert! How can a man be so shameless"

"..."

Maxim tightened his grip on her slender ankle, taking a deep breath to suppress his anger, trying not to snap her delicate leg in two.

"You little bean sprout, do you have too much confidence in yourself?" he said, deliberately glancing at her with his narrow eyes.

At his words, Tatiana instinctively glanced down at herself. This body was a bit malnourished, which made her shorter than usual...

But in her past life, she had been a stunning beauty with a killer figure. With a cold huff,

Tatiana looked at the hand gripping her ankle and gritted her teeth, "I'm just speaking the truth."

Maxim was taken aback, releasing her ankle as if burned, straightening up and adjusting his white shirt.

"What I mean is, you could become my subordinate, and I would protect you. As for your stepmother... I can help you bring her down without any effort" His eyes narrowed slightly, radiating danger.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Tatiana replied, "No thanks. I can handle it myself I don't need a green branch to deal with my stepmother."

While she was unconscious, she overheard some secrets.

She would return his life, but it would never be used for his benefit. In her past life, her fate was controlled by others, and she died without ever tasting freedom. In this life, her destiny was in her own hands!

Maxim raised an eyebrow, leisurely fastening his cufflinks. "Think it over carefully."

After he left, Tatiana rolled out of bed,

leaving behind a note before she slowly exited the hospital room.

Walking aimlessly in an unknown path, Tatiana sits by the side of the road hoping to get a miracle some how.

As night fell, Maxim stepped into the hospital room once again, only to find it completely empty.

On the bed lay a note that read: "I'll give you back a life.

One of your bodyguards has a dragon tattoo on his neck; he's here to kill you."

Maxim clenched the note tightly in his hand, scanning the room full of bodyguards without revealing any emotion.

Turned his head towards his secretary "Fine her. Search everywhere. I want her back to this hospital safe and sound".

Then, he kicked one of the burly men in the leg!

The man felt a jolt of pain and collapsed to the ground."Young Master, you-"

Maxim didn't spare him a glance, his voice cold as ice. "Check him."

Maxim couldn't let go of such an information. He must fine out how Tatiana got this information and also know if she is connected to the underworld.

Since someone had issued a warning, whether true or false, it needed to be investigated thoroughly. He signaled to his bodyguard to hold the man.

The man knew there was no way out; he quickly pulled a weapon from his waist-

But before he could aim it at Maxim's back, a dagger pierced his heart.

Maxim walked away without looking back. He needs find Tatiana cause she's the only one who can cure him completely "I need you find the whereabouts of that woman. I need the details".

"Sir, we couldn't get any information about her. It's like she disappeared completely".

Chapter 3 Thorough investigation

In New York, at the Lexington Crown Hotel.

The union of the Konstantine family and the Gold family had sent shockwaves throughout New York.

As the most prominent family in New York, the Konstantine family attracted countless people eager to get close to them.

Dominic Gold, dressed in a sharp suit, stood in the banquet hall, basking in the compliments and flattery from the crowd. He chuckled continuously, his aged face lighting up with smiles.

"Thank you, thank you all for coming to my daughter's engagement ceremony."

"The ceremony will begin shortly, please take your seats."In high society, the Gold family held a lowly status.

But so what!?

His daughter was marrying Maxim Constantine, and those who had never even glanced at him before were now scrambling to curry favor with him.

Thinking this, Dominic's smirk grew even more pronounced.

...

In the banquet hall, as a soothing piano melody

filled the air, all eyes were fixed on the large, closed doors at the far end.

The auspicious moment had arrived.

With a loud crash, the doors were pushed open forcefully.

But stepping out was not Anna Gold and Maxim Constantine

Instead, it was...

A girl.

Dressed in a knee-length white gown, she looked even more radiant, her flawless skin glowing like a celestial being who had wandered into the mortal realm, captivating everyone's gaze.

However, the beautiful eyes of hers held a chilling frost that seemed to pierce through the air.

Upon seeing her, Dominic's smile vanished instantly. He stared in disbelief, his eyes wide as he staggered backward. "Y-You... Tatiana!?"

At his words, the entire room erupted in shock.

The eldest daughter of the Gold family?

Wasn't she supposed to have died two years ago?

Everyone present knew that Dominic was the son-in-law of the Blackwell family, who had climbed to his current position by leveraging the Blackwell family's reputation and status in New York.

After Isabelle Knight passed away from illness, Ralph's career took off, and he no longer regarded the Blackwell family with any respect.

Within a month, he married his mistress, Camile Hale, and his illegitimate daughter, Wendy Hold, quickly became the legitimate heiress of the Price family.

But what about the original heiress, Tatiana Gold?

She had perished in a kidnapping incident two years ago!

Since then, Dominic had officially taken over the Knight family's assets, rebranding the Knight company as the Gold family Group, which led to the current success of the Gold family.

To everyone's shock, Tatiana was still alive!

As she walked step by step toward Dominic, meeting the astonished gazes of the guests, a cold smile crept onto her lips. "Father, I see you still remember me."

After escaping her perilous situation, she initially planned to return to this family to seek revenge on the previous owner.

However, the previous Tatiana was frail and lacked any powerful backing, making it difficult to carry out her plans for revenge.

So, she quietly spent two years strategizing.

Now, upon hearing that the Gold family was set to arrange a marriage with a prominent family, she decided it was time to stir the pot!

Everything they had done to the original owner was about to be repaid, and she was ready to make things right!

At that moment, Camile's face was as pale as a sheet of paper.

Damn it!

That little brat, Malcom Hale, what on earth was he doing? Didn't he say that Tatiana had already been fed to the sharks?

But soon, she regained her composure.

Before Dominic could say a word, Camille rushed onto the stage, eager to take the lead. "Tatiana, it's so good to see you alive! Do you know how much your father has missed you?

Why didn't you come back sooner so we could all be together?"

Dominic missed her?

He probably just wanted her to die sooner!

Tatiana later discovered that the day after her kidnapping, Dominic had announced her death, conveniently taking control of the entire Knight Family fortune.

If anyone believed that Dominic had nothing to do with her kidnapping, Tatiana certainly didn't!

"The reason I didn't come back immediately was to find out the whereabouts of my kidnappers," she replied coldly, her voice as sharp as ice.

Searching for the kidnappers?

"What do you mean kidnappers? I was told you had an accident". Dominic said nervously.

Having an accident without investigating? What a joke!.

Fortunately, when the previous owner was kidnapped, she had been clever enough to seize the opportunity amidst the chaos to rip a chain off the kidnapper's neck and hide it on her person.

Now, she pulled out a silver chain, about the thickness of her pinky finger, adorned with six sparkling diamonds.

Raising it high for everyone to see, her gaze was firmly locked on Dominic and Camile as she spoke slowly and deliberately, "This is something I tore off the kidnapper back then! With this, we can definitely find them!"

At the sight of the necklace, Camile's face instantly paled several shades.

She recognized the necklace immediately. She personally bought the necklace for Malcom in an auction.

How did Tatiana get it?.

If this got out, not only would Malcom be in trouble, but so would she and the entire Gold family!

"Tatiana, give me the chain! I promise I'll help you find the kidnapper!" Camille reached out, trying to snatch the chain from Tatiana's hands.

Was she trying to destroy the evidence?

"Dream on!"

Tatiana raised an eyebrow and took two steps back, causing Camille to lunge forward and nearly crash into the table.

"No thanks, I'm planning to hand the necklace over to the police. I'm sure they can bring the kidnappers to justice!"

She stared at Camille with a half-smile, a clear threat in her eyes.

Hand it over to the police!?Hand it over to the police!?

No way! Absolutely not! Camille gritted her teeth.

Camille tried snatching the necklace but Tatiana moved back immediately causing her to hit the table.

At that moment, Dominic also realized the seriousness of the situation. Without hesitation, he rushed in front of Tatiana and whispered fiercely, "Give me the necklace! Hurry up!"

"Dad, if you value this necklace so much, anyone would think it's yours!" Tatiana said, bending slightly and smirking.

"You... what are you talking about? I'm just trying to help you!" Dominic was furious, his teeth grinding in frustration.

Suddenly, a cold voice echoed from a distance.

"Causing a scene at my engagement ceremony? Do you want to get yourself killed?"
