Chapter 1 LILITH’S POV.

Chapter one: Lilith's POV "Get the fuck away from my expensive furniture!" Roxanne yelled at me as I crawled around the expanse of her sitting room, crying from the intense pain in my stomach. My entire life flashed before my eyes like a broken stereo tape while fragments of my past glitched over and over like that of a spoilt tv. I closed my eyes, ground my teeth as surges of intense pain ran through my body, but before I could react to it, I felt one of them kick hard against my back, thus making me double over as a new type of pain spread through my entire body.

I couldn't even feel my wolf anymore! "What did you do to me?" I cried, coughing and chortling as drops of blood sputtered out of my mouth to leave a trail of a scarlet colored liquid on the white tiled floor. "You forced poison into my mouth?" I managed to look up at the both of them, my husband Tyler and my best friend Roxanne who both stared down at me with intense loathing in their eyes. They felt no remorse for what they had just done, even the tiniest bit of remorse was not on their steely gazes; my heart broke. "Just shut up and stop playing the victim here!" Roxanne snapped angrily. But I was the victim here! I was shocked at the tone of voice she had used for it sounded vile, she was vile. "Why are you doing this to me? I asked again when they wouldn't say a word. Betrayal was such a light word to use to explain how I felt, but at the same time I was petrified, extremely terrified of what they would do to me. My husband was the Alpha of Blackwood pack; Became Alpha shortly after we became married only a few weeks ago. He had been the best thing that has ever happened to me, more like the sibling I never had until today. Today, I had walked into my best friend's house only to find his car already there. At first I never thought much about it until I stepped into the main house only to find both of them tangled up on the couch, while he pounded into her like an enraged bull. The same expensive couch Roxanne had just told me to get away from... a couch I had gotten with my own money. I literally made her who she was, bought everything she had in her name as well as Tyler's; I couldn't believe this! "We poisoned you." Roxanne answered me with a smug smile tugging at the corner of her thin lips. "We poisoned you because we know you'd want a divorce after catching us red handed and we do not want that." I stared up at her, confused as to why she wouldn't want me to divorce my husband even though she clearly wanted him to herself, until she finally said; "If you divorce him, we're not going to have the throne we've always wanted anymore, and that would be like a total waste of time because it's the reason we're all in this mess in the very first place." Her statement confused me, and in my premium gullibility, I had to silently begin piecing bits and bits of her words together until it finally made sense to me. I gasped. "Yo-you did this ju-just be-cause you wanted my th-throne!" I out; coughing as a new fresh set of blood sputtered out of my mouth like rain. "Of course baby girl!" She screeched, and then bending over to pat my head gently like I had just said the most reasonable thing in the world, she added; "why else would I do stuff like this?" I stared at her in incredulity. Words had failed me. Nothing else mattered aside from the pounding in my chest that I could hear even in my ears. "I brought Tyler into your life for this main reason... to get married to you, kill you off and then remarry me, his mate." She snapped, making my eyes go wide in shock. They were mates! Tears sprung into my eyes at the realization. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that I had allowed them to play with my intelligence since all these while; and to think that they even had a daughter together broke my heart even more. As if to spite me, Tyler drew Roxanne to himself and then began trailing feverish kisses down the length of her neck and chin. Her soft moans filled the air; and I closed my eyes, willing all of it to stop as tears began to slowly seep out of my eyes. This had to be a dream, a terrible nightmare that I would wake up and see no more. I laid there, struggling and writhing, trying to will the pain away but it just wouldn't. Tyler landed a fatal blow to my midriff as soon as he broke off his kiss with Roxanne, I doubled up in pain, coughed so loudly until tons of blood sputtered out of my mouth to the floor. "I have one last confession." Roxanne muttered which made me look up at her from my place on the floor. I willed myself for the worst. I already knew that what she had to say was something terrible and so I wasn't so shocked when she said; "My daughter Oriana is Tyler's daughter." Okay.. wait what? For how long has this relationship of theirs been going on because from what I could remember, Oriana was about six years old. I felt angry tears spring into my eyes almost immediately. I was pissed beyond measure and silently cursed myself for giving myself fully to people as unfeeling as these ones. I was still lost in my reverie when I felt myself get lifted into the air, felt movements and the next thing I felt was wild air in my hair. Panic immediately struck me at the thought of what they were about to do to me. As soon as Tyler took me outside very close to the cliff, I gasped because I already knew what was coming to me. Roxanne lived in an expensive condo situated at the edge of a cliff and it was crystal clear now that they were about to throw me off it. Just as I had predicted, I heard Tyler mumble something incoherent but then laughed when Roxanne began laughing, and as soon as they were done, he immediately flung my body into the air, down the cliff like I weighed nothing until all I could feel was the rush of air as I fell down the cliff. Soon after, everything began to feel different; I felt calmer and at peace. I was angry too but at this point, there was nothing else I could do. I closed my eyes waiting for death to take me. ...and just as expected, it did soon after. It pulled me into its abyss, dragging me down with it until all I could feel was myself sinking into the deep dark water. *** A sweet savory smell hit my nostrils with so much force that it had me wondering where this lovely goodness was coming from. I heard the loud rumbling of thunder in the sky a few meters away from where I was and could also hear the splashes of rain as it hit my window pane; and that of the wind, as it whooshed there the air. I sat up slowly, thinking I was in my afterlife but gasped when the scene in front of me beheld itself.

Chapter 2 LILITH’S POV.

Chapter two

"What kind of afterlife is this?" I asked myself as I took in the scattered books everywhere and the heaps of clothes that stood on the couch close to the bed I just awoke on. My eyes widened in surprise when I looked down at myself expecting to see the blue blood stained dress I had worn earlier but instead saw myself clad in a black tank top and a green biker's shorts. "What the hell was happening here?" I questioned, looking around me and slapping at my body in order to feel some sort of pain but I felt nothing. A splitting headache struck the back of my head as I tried remembering what must've happened to me, but no matter how hard I tried to think about it, I just couldn't. I felt lightheaded and it almost seemed like I was going to pass out. Pass out after death? I had flashes of the moment I had walked in on Tyler and Roxanne practically eating each other up; and also the time when Tyler was crowned Alpha shortly after our marriage ceremony and I visibly cringed. The motherfucker had used time to climb up the social ladder; had planned it all out with Roxanne because they already knew of how vulnerable I was. I shook out thoughts of Tyler from my head and turned around to take in the room I had woken up in. This room...it looked familiar. A little too familiar, and just as I was still trying to recall where I must've seen it from, the door clinked open and I literally had to jump between the thick bed sheets as thoughts of Tyler and Roxanne bringing me in here to continue with their torturing struck my mind. "You are awake," a calm and soothing voice called out and I looked up only to find a young lad of about my age walking into the room with a cup of coffee in his hand. I couldn't make out his face because my vision still felt slightly dizzy, I couldn't even say a word to him as my body ached slightly probably from the way I had fallen right off the cliff moments ago but as soon as he was close enough, I sat up. "Hey!" He said but I paid no attention to him and quickly flung the bedsheets off my body as I rolled off the bed. As soon as my feet touched the floor, I was met with a sudden chillness that made me stagger, almost falling back onto the bed. The boy rushed towards me, placed the cup of steaming coffee on the table beside my bed before coming over to stop me from toppling to the cold floor. "You aren't supposed to stress yourself yet, Sis. The doctor said that you are still not feeling too good to be moving around." "Sis?" My mind drifted away for a few seconds and something struck my mind. "Derek?!" I called out and spun around to really look at him with a shocked expression on my face. How the hell? He looked just the way he did about two years ago, shortly before the automobile accident that had led to his and father's demise. What the hell was happening? He's supposed to be dead... "Is everything okay, Sis? you look like you've just seen a ghost?" He said with a small smile. If only he knew that he was the ghost and not me... His series of questions threw me off balance and I slightly staggered as my lips began to mutter words which even I couldn't get a grasp of. I shook my head vigorously. "I'm fine. I just need to ...," I started muttering but stopped when my head began spinning. I sat up quickly, paying no attention to my weak legs and began prancing around the room frantically. Something definitely didn't feel right and I still could not wrap my fingers around what it was. I staggered across the room, feeling my way through and flinging away everything I could lay my hands on. As if possessed by something, I pulled out my drawers and began throwing out everything in it, even my wardrobe too until the room was nothing but a disheveled mess. "Is something wrong with you?!" Derek shouted, "What's wrong, are you going nuts?" He quickly rushed at me and tried pulling me together but in a haze, I pushed him off me with so much force that he staggered backwards a little. I couldn't understand why I was suddenly back in my old room, living a life I had lived before just a few minutes after getting killed by my best friend and husband. It didn't make any sense to me. None of these made sense. "I should speak to Dr Rodger... and then probably tell father that you're awake right...or not because I do not understand what has come over you." Derek lamented with panic clear in his voice. I could hear him immediately leave the room after saying those words but I said nothing, because I had nothing to say to him. I couldn't even remember who doctor Rodger was. My hands surfed through the entire length of the room and as soon as it landed on that thing I had been looking for, a phone, my hands tightened around it. My shaky hands slid through the power button, I squinted into its brightness and as soon as I saw today's date and time my eyes widened. The phone slid through my hands to the floor with a loud thump, and I stood unmoving, unsure of what had happened to me. Had everything been a dream and I was still 19 years old? No, that's not possible. "February 23, 2017? I mumbled to myself. Everything that was happening suddenly made sense to me now; this is my afterlife! and my family members are here because they were dead too. ...or Maybe I had successfully traveled back in time... "There's no such thing as an afterlife, Lily... and I know you know that. All these things happening right now are definitely things you've lived in your past," a voice whispered from the back of my head and I spun around, wondering who it was. Derek was no longer here and no one was here either. So who the hell was-? "Do I have to introduce myself to you again? Are we gonna be doing this every time you're resurrected?" she said sassily. From the way she talked I already knew who it was. It was Ariel, my inner wolf. "Ariel?" "she remembers now!" She beamed with a smile. Her comment rang through my head like an echo, making it quite impossible to pay attention to something else. I slowly walked over to the vanity mirror at a corner of the room, took in my overly young appearance and gasped. I had been really taken back in time again. Ariel talked non stop in my head but I ignored her ramblings in my head this time though, for I was preoccupied with something else. Something which bugged me intensely, something that life force had probably brought me back for. They probably brought me back to right my wrongs, to get revenge for the way I had been unjustly killed and just so that I do not repeat my past mistakes. I slowly stepped away from the mirror, whilst plotting new different ways to get my revenge but as soon as I walked away from the mirror, the phone close to my bed began ringing so loudly that I had to hold my head to keep it from falling. "Arrgh!" I groaned but smiled immediately I saw the name on the screen, for it was Roxanne, my self acclaimed best friend.

Chapter 3 LILITH’S POV.

Chapter Three

I glared at my reflection in the mirror, taking in my general look and noting how vulnerable I really Was. No wonder Tyler and Roxanne saw me as gullible, gullible enough that they decided to use me. But now I was different, it was different. I was no longer that puppet they tagged along everywhere like a third wheel, while I used to think that Roxanne was the third wheel. I had been awake since midnight, thinking about a lot of things, especially about things I had to do now that I have been reborn. Even if I had been sleeping, the footsteps moving walking towards my door would have startled me. The bright red lipstick on my hand moved smoothly on my thin lips as I prepared for unseen events. The door clicked open and my eyes moved quickly from the mirror to the person standing in front of my door with a look of confusion on his face. "Your father wants to meet with you. He is waiting in the throne room right now," the servant announced and I tapped my fingers against the table in front of me. I titled my head, examined him from his head to his toes and asked, " did he say why he sent for me?" "That I don't know, but it's something relating to a meeting he wants you to accompany him to," he bowed slightly and wanted to turn to leave when I stopped him. "Tell him I would come to see him later," I ordered him and he looked at me as if his eyes wanted to fall out from its socket. "But...your father...," he stuttered, trying to make me see reasons with him. I raised my left hand and hushed him. "No, buts. I will see him later. There's a place I need to be at," I raised my voice at him and he put up his hand, surrendering to my command. The servant nodded and left to deliver my message. My eyes looked at him in pity as he walked away, dragging his feet on the floor. I knew what my father wanted to tell me. This event had happened in my previous life and nothing could catch me unaware now. It was also on this day that he had met with an accident. The accident that took his life and that of Derek but I would make sure that it doesn't repeat itself in this new life. I would delay that meeting regardless of what anyone tries to say or do. I wasn't sure if stopping it was going to alter the entire plan but I didn't care, couldn't care. My phone suddenly rang and I jolted in surprise. As I was about to pick up the call, the door of my room flung open and I raised my eyes from my phone. My father stood in front of my door looking so pissed that his anger radiated off him in waves. He looked at me with those green eyes that I got from him. Those dangerous eyes. "Why would you ignore my order, Child?" he growled and a rush of fear crawled through my body. "I need to be somewhere father, and I'll be back before you know it." I said bluntly. I need to protect you! My phone lit up again and I saw a message from Roxanne.. She had already given me about five missed calls in a short period of time. "Let's meet at the park. I have someone you should meet. -Roxanne." I got up from where I was, kissed my father on both cheeks, grabbed my bag and checked my dress, making sure I didn't look anything short of pretty. I heard him grumble under his breath about something relating to me but I ignored it and instead refocused my attention to the beeping phone in my hands while I strode out of the room. This was exactly how Roxanne made me meet Tyler two years ago, or sorry on this day but the last time I lived it. At first, my body froze; I hesitated for a while as I didn't want any mistake to repeat itself but I quickly shook it off by deciding to go with the flow just so that I do not mess things up this time. *** Tyler was beaming with all smiles when I arrived at the park. His smile had been what had drawn me to him in the first place, but right now it irked me to no end. Roxanne was sitting opposite him and she urged me to sit beside Tyler, which I did like the puppet I used to be. "Emm...what is this for? Who is he?" I asked, trying to avoid any eye contact with Tyler. "My cousin. Feel free. I will go get some ice cream for all of us," Roxanne disclosed and walked off. Cousin... who got you pregnant. "He kinda looks like Oriana, your daughter." I said sweetly and noticed how they both froze for a millisecond. "That's because he's my cousin!" Roxanne snapped, but then finished with a small giggle. "Wow, y'all family bonds must be so strong." I muttered under my breath but I knew that they heard me. Tyler shifted his gaze from Roxanne to me, he looked quite uneasy and I couldn't stop clinging onto my bag as I was beginning to feel uneasy myself. I watched Roxanne walk off quickly, looking as though she was being pursued and I smiled to myself because I knew that my words had gotten to her. I also knew that she wasn't coming back beca that was exactly how she had left me with Tyler the first time I lived this scene. "Roxanne told me everything about you. I must say, her words didn't do justice to how beautiful you are in person," he whispered sweetly. The old me would've fallen for his sweet words but I was different now, and proudly unmoved by him. I visibly cringed at his choice of words because it was the exact same thing he had said all those years ago; the same words that my young mind had found delicious, but now I knew better. "Thank you." I said dryly, not wanting to drag this conversation any further. He moved his finger and ran them over the skin of my chin. I flinched at his action and I felt a clutch of panic in the pit of my stomach. I didn't bother looking out for Laura. I already knew she won't be back. She had left me under the care of a monster that would devour me. It was their plan, to make me fall helplessly in love. "Can you please keep your fingers to yourself?" I gritted at him, but instead of keeping his distance, he gave me a captivating smile. "You know what? I would love to give you a call. I'd like to get to know you better." he winked at me. Two years ago my heart had melted at this gesture, but now I only felt tense and numb. "Sure, why not?" I shrugged and was about to hand my phone to him with my phone number displayed when a sudden strong scent assaulted my nostrils. It was so intoxicating that it almost had me springing out of my chair; even my wolf was suddenly restless and prancing around in my head. My nose sniffed from one place to another, trying to find where that sweet smelling scent was coming from, but I just couldn't find it. "Mate!" Ariel howled, jumping with so much excitement and I sprung to my feet. "Are you okay? You look confused," Tyler pointed out but I couldn't answer. There was something else that bugged me more than his Shenanigans. "Mate! Mate!" Ariel continued yelling and I quickly rose to my feet to go find the mate whom the moon goddess had decided to give me this time.
