Rebirth: Ice Queen

"Her heart is not beating any more doctor," a lady in a short white dress said anxiously

"check her pulse" the doctor yelled Even after checking her pulse, he realized that there was no sign of movement from the girl lying on the bed. He had no idea what to do right now because the girl lying on the bed is not just anyone but the great 'Liliana Anderson' the 'ice Queen' as she was popularly known by. A woman that's always see expressionless, never see smiling and all now been killed by food poisoning was another thing, who had the gut to do such a thing like this. Her family is just standing outside, what will tell them and how? This was the first time in history he does know how to announce the death of a patient, to the patient's family. When he stepped out of the room her family immediately got up and walked up to the doctor as well "What happened to my sister? A girl that looks the same age as Lilianna asked anxiously

"How is my daughter " both her parent asked.

"Well am mm am sorry ......

"I said what happened to me daughter" he yelled when he couldn't tolerate his attitude anymore.

"She dead" he finally announced "Oh hh " that was the only sound he heard from a man who just loses his daughter, not just any daughter but the one known by everyone in New York and beyond. Doctor Dave Pov Earlier I was scared of announcing her death to her family but right now seeing how they reacted I was lost for words. I in no mood for their family drama right now.

This was never the reaction he was expecting, he thought they would be sad, cry, and all not just sat 'oh' it quite obvious they wanted him dead, he just left them there to attend to another patient. Meanwhile, in another hospital, a woman in her late 40's was on her knees pleading with the doctors to treat her daughter.

"Please doctor I beg of you, perform the surgery, I promise to pay the bills once the treatment is done" she pleaded with tears running down her cheeks.

"Ma'am you need to pay the bills before we start treatment," said the doctor.

"Please, I will pay, please," said the woman. While they were talking a nurse came out of one of the rooms and whispered something to the doctor's ear. Then the doctor turned to the woman and said

"Ma'am am sorry to inform you that your daughter is dead".

"No no no no, this can't happen, my Lily, my lily is fine, yes she is fine" the woman cried, she kept on trying to confuse herself while the doctor left her there to attend to other patients.

# Back at city Hospital #

Doctor dave was about to enter his office when he saw nurse Bella running towards him.

"What happened Bella," asked Doctor dave.

"She's alive" she announced breathing hard.

"Who is alive," asked the doctor has "Lillianna Anderson". Answered Bella.

" Impossible" he shouted and ran along with her to the room. Whereas inside the room, Lilianna was laying down on the bed holding her head while trying to process the memories that just gushed into her head, she believes that she died and was reborn into another, does such a thing even exist? And funny enough this body feels nothing, after all, those are some of the memories she reconds but is it even possible not to feel anything, not even pain, only time could tell, she can't wait to venture into this new life.

Lilly POV

I knew I died after all my mom won't pay the bills and I am glad that finally am free from pain because it has become intractable for me and glad that death has finally come. I feel my soul leaving my body I know it's real why will I feel such when am already dead another but

Tired

It felt like an eternity through a dark and desolate tunnel.

I wanted to stop,

but for some reason,

I kept on walking towards the speck of light far away in a distance.

My throat felt dry and rough, burning with extreme thirst

Water I need water,

maybe I could drink when I reach the end of the tunnel.

And so I kept on walking and walking and walking.

The thought of water relieving my parched throat kept me going. I don't know how long I walked, for days, months, years, maybe even decades, perhaps even centuries. I didn't know, I just wanted water, finally, the light grew larger and brighter Almost there. Then I was bathed in pure, white light. Finally

* * * City Hospital

I opened my eyes and felt almost blinded by a soft, dim light. It took a few moments before my eyes and just then, I knew I was in the hospital before I felt my soul leaving my body, but where am I now. This place looks more luxurious than the one I was in earlier. So did the room suddenly change into another, not just any room but it looks so big, I was trying to gather my thoughts, suddenly some strange thoughts gushed into my head These memories aren't mine, but whose, until the face of a girl, starts to show at every memory, before I realized what had happened. The only thing I couldn't conclude was REBIRTH.

Lilly POV My thoughts were interrupted with the sudden bang on the door, I looked up and saw the doctor walking towards me.

"Are you ok, Miss Anderson?" He asked with a shaking voice. Is he scared of me? Why was he scared? Then again, the previous owner of this body was a scary being who does feel pain, but now that I am here, thereof will be some changes. Back to the present.

"I'm fine?" I told him blankly, I wanted to smile, but it seems this body doesn't express any emotion whatsoever, I don't even feel anything when the nurse injected me.

It's weird. How can someone feel nothing, not even pain or anger nor happiness

"Where are they?" I asked the doctor eventually

"Who?" Why was he acting dumb? Doesn't he know that I was asking about Lillianna annoying family members.

"You know who?" I answered him blankly.

"Oh, I am so sorry, I may have informed them that you were dead. They went home to organize a press conference to announce your death to the world," he answered nervously.

"So soon," 'I will call to inform them immediately that.............."

"Don't bother, you may leave." I told him to leave because I need to be alone right now. Immediately he left with the nurse, I laid down to process the memories I got from the previous owner of this body. i had always thought rebirth and reincarnation happen in the movies and books, but I was reborn into the body of an emotionless being that considers emotional people as fools and pathetic people.

James POV

I need to announce my daughter's death to the world, although I do pity her a little. I guess she deserves it. She is just like her annoying mother. She may have been a money-making machine for me when she was alive, but that didn't change the fact that she had been the one stopping my dream of taking over Anderson empire due to a stupid will my late wife wrote now that she was finally dead, I need to announce it to the world and peaceful, graciously take over what was rightfully mine.

"I'm sorry for inviting you all here within short notice. I am grieving right now."

"Why are you grieving, sir?" One of the reporters interrupted me. They won't even let me finish but I really need to act like a father who just lost his whole world if not the international investor will definitely pull out and the shares I have been trying to protect will fall rapidly but I could even know what was happening.

"I'm a Father who just lost his daughter; I paused dramatically and allowed tears to fall from my eyes, I know and being melodramatic right, but this melodrama was needed.

"What!

"Who?"

"Which of your daughters?"

" Mr Anderson, please do answer our questions Different questions at the same time, just what I wanted, Their sympathy

"My daughter Lillianna is dead," I finally announce with more tears coming out. "What happened," a female reporter asked. The shock was evident in her shaky voice.

"Was she sick?"

"Did she get into an accident?"

"According to the news yesterday, she was in a business gathering. What suddenly happened?

All the reporters were just asking me different questions at the same time. I'm sure the internet is in an uproar right now after Lillianna is not an ordinary woman, She was the Queen of the business world and she never hesitates to crush her opponent and a lot of people fear her that was how ruthless she is was. I can't imagine what was going on in the business world right now, am sure they found it unbelievable that the girl nicknamed 'ice queen' who came into the business world when she was 18 and made a falling company becomes one of the biggest company in New York City, suddenly dead, they we are definitely not going to take the news well. The reporters are still harbouring me with questions until my wife Jane takes over from me.

"Our daughter died of food poisoning, I did not know what happened or who tried to kill my baby," She said in between sopping, I think she is a better actor than me. No one will even know that she was lying or making things up. Lucky me, right?

Helena POV

Even at death, that bitch won't let us rest. Who the hell does she think is, she always stole my limelight now she was finally dead and I still need to cry for her. I spent so much time doing my makeup, now because of that bitch, I allowed tears to ruin my beautiful makeup, but I knew I need to keep on acting like Dad and Mom.

Lily POV

I kept staring at my reflection on the mirror inside the hospital bathroom, I was amazed by my new look, although I was beautiful before the reborn, but not this much the girl in the mirror was flawless and perfect.

According to what the doctor told me, I know by now that the Anderson's must have declared me dead, The Anderson family is filled with actors and pretenders. How were they even able to fool Lilianna for such a long time. Well, a girl with no emotion may not understand it as well.

Lilianna's father was just as cruel as mine they body has no empathy for mankind, I can't imagine what she went through as a child, according to the memories obtained from the previous owner of this body.

Lilianna's mother, Evelyn, married James (Mr. Anderson) when he had nothing. Anderson Empire was previously known as Altee group of company.

Evelyn was the only child of her parent which makes her the heiress to her father's empire, she took over when she graduated college with first class topper in her department and she managed to take altee empire to the next level but her biggest mistake was that she fell in love with James the who practically came into her life out of greed.

He tasted wealth and realized that he wanted more so he decided to kill his wife in the process he started poisoning her and it later took effect when she became pregnant and the doctor insisted on a bed rest so Evelyn entrusted her company to the love of her life unknowingly to her that he was a sheep in wolf clothing. The poisoning later killed her, but it damaged Lilianna beyond repair. She was left empty, she couldn't feel anything thing like a normal human, she was left emotionless and she also lost her mother the moment she stepped foot into the world.

I believe she went through a lot more than i did, at list i had my mother with me and am not emotionally useless like poor Lilianna. I couldn't help but feel a sense of sympathy for Lilianna, the previous owner of this body. She had gone through so much, and yet, she had still managed to build a successful career and a life for herself. I, on the other hand, had been given a second chance at life, and I was determined to make the most of it.

As I continued to stare at my reflection, I noticed something strange. My eyes seemed to be gazing back at me, as if they were trying to tell me something. And then, I saw it. A faint glimmer of emotion, deep in my eyes. It was a spark of sadness, of loss, of longing. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that I was feeling something.

It was a small thing, a tiny spark, but it was something. And it gave me hope. I took a deep breath and made a decision. I would embrace this new life and all the emotions that came with it. I would learn to feel, to love, to live. As I walked out of the bathroom, I felt a sense of determination. I would make the most of this second chance, and I would make Lilianna proud.
