Chapter 1 Bitter Amos

The entire event hall, where Zelda's wedding reception was hosted, was filled with the clinking of cutlery and glasses. The bride and her husband later made contact with each other's lips.

In that scene, Amos had a sour smile on his lips. The red wine was immediately sipped, and the wine glass was carefully set on the table.

That should be me...

Zelda's spouse caught the man's attention. He ought to be in that Race's place. He was too relaxed in his prior connection with Zelda, and as a result, he was unaware of her change of heart toward Race. He cherished the girl. Amos didn't weep, even though he knew he was harmed. Maybe it was only his ego as a guy that was wounded. Why is he petty and resentful at his ex-girlfriend's wedding now? That is because he found it difficult to comprehend that the woman he had once considered proposing to had already married another man.

"Amos, let's go," his friend Barney invited him.

"Look at yourself. Your face is red. I know you're drunk."

"Just wait, Barney. The cake that I baked myself is not yet there."

When Barney heard what Amos said, he only shook his head. How could a friend avoid feeling let down? In place of the vanilla flavor, Amos simply added ampalaya flavor to the cake. Although it's a bitter thing, Amos just wants to say that he wasn't happy with how the wedding was handled.

When a woman walked through the door of the event hall, the man's interest was piqued. Her light pink dress with an off-shoulder design showed off the lovely contour of her body. It was possible to see her straight, ash gray hair. She stood tall, with a snow-white complexion. Her black lips only served to detract from her attractiveness despite having a petite face and gorgeous features. The lipstick appears to have been purposefully darkened by pressing down on it. She had a gorgeous witch's appearance.

Amos didn't understand why he couldn't take his eyes off the woman. When he noticed her approaching him, he slightly leapt out of his chair. The man was puzzled as to why the woman had such an impact on him. She abruptly came to a stop in front of him, which astounded him.

"Is someone sitting next to you? Can I sit beside you?" asked the woman while lazily chewing the gum.

Amos knew to himself that he was not yet drunk but it was as if he was drunk in her presence. He could smell the woman's feminine perfume and he really didn't want that scent to leave.

So addicting...

"Boy, I'm asking you," the woman said angrily to Amos, but the man didn't even budge. He continued staring... and admiring her.

"You can... sit there. No one is sitting." Barney was the only one to talk to the woman because Amos seemed to be losing his mind at that moment.

"Thank you," she answered. He followed her gaze until she sat down. A few moments later, Amos returned to his right consciousness.

He smirked to get her attention. The woman faced him with an eyebrow raised. "Amostacio Reolonda but you can call me Amos." He held out his hand but she didn't accept it, so he just put it down. He gave her a sweet smile but her face soured.

"Zein," she simply answered.

The corner of Amos' lips turned up. "So, are you related to the newlyweds? I assumed you were in the part of the groom. I just saw you now."

The woman rolled her eyes. "The bride is my older sister." Amos was shocked by what the woman said. He didn't think that the Zein he was facing now was actually Zeinab, Zelda's younger sister.

He used to get stories from Zelda about her younger sister in Japan when they were still dating. Maybe Zein didn't know Amos was Zelda's ex-boyfriend because he had just turned to face her.

"So, your Zeinab Agiw?" the man asked in shock.

"Can you please stop that? Don't call me Zeinab. Are we close? How did you know my whole name?"

"I am your sister's boyfriend."

Zein inflated the chewing gum and when it popped, she put it back in her mouth with her lips. "Boy, are you fooling me? I think your head is broken. Are you the groom of my sister, Zelda?"

Amos scratched his eyebrow. "Okay, I am sorry. What I mean is... your sister's ex-boyfriend."

The woman laughed softly. "Boy, make it clear."

The man didn't want it when she repeatedly called him "Boy". He already told his name. Irritation arosed in him. He couldn't help but confront her. "Don't call me that kind of endearment. I already told my name."

Zein smirked. "Go ahead, Mang Tasyo."

The irritation was replaced by annoyance because of what Zein said to him. His name was from his grandfathers and thought carefully for his handsome face then an Agiw just called him Mang Tasyo?

How dare she call me Mang Tasyo?

He was about to answer the woman but he stopped when he heard the applause of the people. He lost his attention on Zein and followed the four layers wedding cake cut by the newlyweds. A smile of victory appeared on Amos' lips.

"Finally!" he exclaimed. A soft laugh escaped from his mouth when they tasted the wedding cake. It was obvious from the looks of these people that they didn't like the taste of the cake. Race seemed to want to spit out the cake but couldn't because there was a camera focused on them. Meanwhile, Amos couldn't stop laughing when the two faced the camera and both grimaced.

"I think this is a bad idea. Let's go, Amos," Barney whispered to him.

"I am not yet done, Barney." Amos stood up and went to the sound system where the wedding band was playing. The microphone made a deafening noise as he violently grabbed it. Everyone looked at him, even the newlyweds.

He looked at Zelda and her face showed concern. "Congratulations, newlyweds. Did you like the wedding cake that I baked?" Race glared at him but Amos just laughed loudly. "Oh, come on! I know that tastes really... really good.

"Before this day ends, I would like to give my present to this couple. If they did not hurt me, there's no wedding between Zelda and Race." Only Amos laughed at that joke. Race wanted to punch him but his wife stopped him.

Over the keyboard, Amos muttered to the female user. When she heard the man's chosen music, she shook her head, but when he glared at him, she gave in and played the song. He is proficient in piano playing, but he won't use it for something he doesn't like.

Spoil the just woken, not the inebriated guy. That proverb is incorrect in reference to Amos. Who has the intelligence to perform an incredible song at a wedding? It was just Amos.

The intro of the song soared. He heard the guests' sighs but he didn't care. He wanted to convey that he was hurt by the couple. He just closed his eyes. He was about to sing the first verse when an angelic voice interrupted his plan.

"I keep staring at my silent phone..."

The faint guitar strumming that accompanied the lyric was also present. When he opened them, he saw Zein standing next to him. Despite how pleasant her voice was, he didn't care that her eyes were so piercing when they were on him. He seems to be under that woman's hypnotic spell once more, just as previously.

"Now, I guess this is the sign of my love..."

Until the song ended, Amos still couldn't stop staring at Zein's face. Her thick eyebrows seemed to be attracted to his passage by his finger there. Her dark eyes filled with emotion seemed to dig up feelings he had never felt before. Her cheek rose when she smiled, encouraging him to squeeze it.

So beautiful...

"I composed that song. Congratulations, Ate Zelda. Be happy with Race."

So when Zein pulled him out, he just stood there. "You went to my sister's wedding just to ruin it? You shouldn't have come if you were still bitter."

Only then did Amos come back to his senses. He grinned goofily. "Can you blame me? They hurt me."

The woman folded her arms. "Do you think I care?"

"You know..." Amos pointed at Zein but she laughed softly.

"You know what?"

"Such a bad woman!" He held back his snort at Zein.

"Excuse me?" The woman pointed to herself. "Who among us has almost sung a killer song at a wedding?"

"You called me Mang Tasyo!"

"You really are Mang Tasyo, Mr. Amostacio Reolonda," she said with irritation.

"Why do you care?"

She put the tip of her tongue inside the cheek and looked at Amos irritated. "What do you want? You have already ruined Ate Zelda's reception."

"Yes and you ruined my plan!"

"Because you ruined my sister's wedding! I couldn't help but to be angry with you now that you're a hindrance to my sister's happiness." Zein took a coin from her purse and handed it to him.

"Two pesos! What's this for?" Amos's eyes widened.

"Buy sugar. That's fine as long as you only buy retail. You're such a bitter man, so you need to take a little sweet on your body." The woman managed to smile.

Amos' mouth just dropped. He couldn't believe what Zein had done. "I have a lot of sugar, many sacks!" he shouted even though it was impossible for Zein to hear because she had already walked back to the reception.

Just now, Amos was panting. Zein's actions, in his opinion, were not what he expected. He didn't believe Zelda's younger sister realized he was a well-known pastry chef in the nation. To Reolonda's Group of Companies, he is the only heir.

Using recipes passed down from their ancestors, Reo's Bakeshop creates delectable sweets. He is undoubtedly well-known in the business world because he has numerous branches not only inside the Philippines but also outside. At the age of twenty-eight, he is not simply a pastry chef; he is also a prosperous businessman.

Amos did nothing but stare at the two pesos in his hand. He was giggling loudly. Only then did he encounter the woman who, sensing his resentment, offered him a penny to purchase sugar. As a result of the abundance of materials found in bakeries, he didn't need to buy anything. The woman's actions deeply offended him.

"Dude, you are embarrassing!" It turned out that his friend Barney had already left the event hall.

Amos' eyebrows met. "It didn't work out. She rains on my parade."

"Just be thankful, Amos. He saved you from shame."

"No!" he shouted. "I will not be thankful for what she did. She's a witch."

Barney laughed softly at his reaction. "A beautiful witch."

What his friend said was right. Zein was really beautiful but annoyance overshadowed all his praises for that woman who rained on his parade.

Chapter 2 Kiss Stealer

When she got to Kiki village, Zein exhaled a sigh of relief. She was quite exhausted after attending her sister Zelda's wedding just moments earlier. She immediately headed to her sister's happiest day when she returned from her trip to Japan.

Zein is still without a break. The only time she took a break was when she drove over to their house before the ceremony to change. That bitter man, Mang Tasyo, compounded her issue, but will she turn down the opportunity to see her sister dressed in a traje de boda? Since they were the only two in their lives who were together, she couldn't bear to miss her walking down the aisle.

Zelda has supported her as her mother and father ever since their parents perished in an ambush. Their parents just left them the house on Mapski Street. It turns out that their family was already heavily in debt at the time.

Zelda, Zein's sister, assumed full responsibility as a result. Her sister assisted her as she studied. She successfully finished the BA Film and Audio Visual Communication programme. She just hasn't utilized it yet. She still doesn't have a career that fits the school she graduated from at the age of twenty-four. She observed her fellow classmates as they achieved success in that area, but she was still without plans.

Zein will actually find employment without much difficulty because her sister has numerous contacts, but she picked music. Zelda supported her in following her passion, which was joining the band, which is why she adores her so much. Everything was done by her sister to make her happy.

Zein then caught sight of Yvette strolling along the path. She was a friend from her early years who she hadn't seen in a while. The woman turned abruptly to her car in response to her immediate honk at her. Zein simply chuckled at her friend's response. She hasn't really changed at all.

Zein immediately lowered the window of her car. "Bengut!"

She reflected Zein's face and suddenly her mouth fell open when she recognized the person in front of her. "Agiw?"

Yvette even managed to scream when she approached her. Zein just hit her friend when she almost pulled her out of the window because of her hug.

"Yvette!"

Her friend let her go immediately. "I missed you. Sorry. You've been gone for two years."

"And in those two years, you still walk into the village," Zein teased her friend. Her friend's job as an accountant was good, but Yvette didn't want to take a taxi when she's in Kiki village because she always says that riding a taxi cab is a poor thing.

"Yuck! So cheap."

Zein laughed.

Yvette rolled her eyes. "You know this place. Everywhere I turn, there is discrimination. It's a shame for the people from Gamski and Mapski street who have their own cars."

"You are the only one who thinks of that discrimination."

"Duh?"

Zein still remembered what Yvette told her about Kiki village. The founders of the village were the twins Kian and Kianna, so the names of the streets in the area only have "ki" at the end. The place was not just casual because the residences of the successors of some wealthy families in the country were located at the village.

Even though Zein's family was not wealthy, they did own a home in the village. Because of the residences' location, other locals had the opinion that there was discrimination. The residences of the successors, who were, as far as she knows, not simply heirs but also gorgeous ones, can only be found on Gamski Street. There were people on Papski and Mapski Street who could only assert that they were capable of living better lives.

It's just sad that people have that mindset including her friend. They could not see what they already have. After all, it was a privilege to have land in the village even if it was small because not all people could afford land in that area.

"Get in. I will take you to Papski Street."

Yvette closed her eyes and shook her head. "Oh my gosh! Don't you ever mention that street again!"

Zein laughed again. She did not like sassy people but she did not know how she reconciled with Yvette. Maybe she only found a good friend in Yvette. Besides the woman and her bandmates, she had no friends. For her, it's hard to trust someone.

"Why? That's where you live," Zein said teasingly to Yvette.

Yvette just sighed and got into her car. Zein immediately started the car. It's at the end of the street and her house was the first to pass, but that's fine with her.

"Really annoying! Do you know that? Why is it that Gamski is at the opening and we are at the end? What are we, dregs? They are the ones with the fancy cars, they are the ones who are close," Yvette complained.

Zein grinned. "Who told you to walk? You should have just taken a tricycle." She laughed again when Yvette suddenly gasped.

"I don't want a taxi in this place, what more in riding a cheap tricycle?"

Zein shook her head.

For a while, Yvette looked at her. "What does that look like? You're wearing a light pink infinity dress but your lips are tainted with black. Are you serious about that style of yours?"

"I came from Ate Zelda's wedding," she replied.

She covered her mouth. "Yes, by the way. She invited me but I couldn't go because my boss was taking care of something important."

"Okay..."

"So, how's the wedding?"

"My sister is very happy. She deserves to be happy. I hope Race will take care of her," she replied with a smile.

Yvette nodded but narrowed her eyes. "But you know, it's just a pity..."

"Pity? What do you mean?"

"Her relationship with Amos was a pity. Too bad, his house is in Gamski. That means he is a big catch. If I were Ate Zelda, I would not replace Amos."

Zein was shocked to hear. She couldn't believe that the man also lived in Kiki village. She knew her sister had an ex-boyfriend but she didn't want to meet him because she was in Japan. Also, when Amos was still courting Zelda, she showed no interest in getting to know him. She only recognized Race because the man is her sister's husband.

"Mang Tasyo?" she asked.

"Oh my gosh again! He's hot and so handsome and you're just calling him Mang Tasyo?"

Now Zein was the one who rolled her eyes. "How could it not be? He almost ruined the reception and sang a killer song. He even baked an ampalaya-flavored wedding cake."

Yvette laughed with another slap on her arm. "Really? What did he do? After all, we can't blame him if he becomes bitter because Race stole Zelda from him."

Zein frowned at what her friend said. She didn't know Race well yet, but her sister seemed to love him so much that she didn't object anymore. That means that Mang Tasyo really drew on something to become bitter. She simply did not comment.

"Thank you for the service, Agiw!" She pressed her cheek to her cheek.

"All right. Go to your house, Bengut. You are a perfect fit for Papski." She came down like a whining child.

Zein just laughed. She crossed the road home. She just left the living room light off and entered her room. Her sister already got married so she will be alone.

After she got dressed she felt hungry. She thought of eating the ampalaya-flavored cake she brought home earlier. Her sister didn't like it but she liked the taste. Maybe she just really likes pastries.

She was unsure of the cause of his addiction to sweets, especially breads. Reo's Bakeshop is the only place she regularly buys bread. She was thrifty, but even though these items were pricey, there was no reason to hold that against her in this case.

Zein went downstairs to retrieve a fork and plate from the kitchen but was startled to discover the size of a guy standing next to the liquor cabinet. She could still make out the man despite the darkness, but his turned-back prevented her from seeing his face.

Security is tight in this village, huh? How did the thief get in here?

Because of panic, Zein just took the broom-reed from her side. She slowly approached him and hit him hard on the back with her eyes closed.

"You're a thief"

"Oh!" moaned the man.

Zein just opened her eyes when she reached for the light switch so she could see the man in front of her now.

"You?!" They shouted in chorus.

Zein was the first to recover from the shock. "What are you doing in my house, Mang Tasyo?"

"Your house?" he asked. Zein moved slightly away from the man when she smelled the alcohol on his breath. "This is my girlfriend's house." He laughed even more.

This man is really drunk!

Zein had been annoyed with the man for some time, but she was unable to dispute what her friend had stated. He was a gorgeous man. Despite having unkempt hair, he still looked good. Compared to him, he was shorter. She didn't even reach the man's neck.

If you take into account his muscular arms touching his white polo shirt, he was hot. Zein could see the man's big chest through the man's elegant polo shirt, which had three open buttons at the top. She didn't like dark men, yet she couldn't look away from the man in front of him.

"Enjoying what you see?" Amos asked him comfortingly. He still has the urge to annoy her even when he's drunk.

Zein didn't realize that she was staring at the man. She placed the tip of her tongue on the inside of her cheek before speaking. "Thick of your face!"

"But you... liked it."

Zein just changed the subject. "What are you doing in my house, Mang Tasyo?" he asked again. "How did you get in here?"

"Because my girlfriend is here." He grinned even more, causing her to get annoyed.

It feels like Zein just wants to slap the wedding cake in his face that he himself baked. From the moment she tasted it, she loved the taste. She wondered to herself because she knew that she only wanted bread and cakes from Reo's Bakeshop.

"My sister married Race! Stop!" Zein snorted at the man but the shameless one passed her and actually planned to go up to the second floor.

"Zelda? Zelda!" Her mouth just fell open. Amos wanted to climb the stairs but he staggered. His forehead hit the railing. He laughed even though he was already hurt.

"Zelda? Your boyfriend is here. Sweetheart, come on. Come to Amos." It's like a father raising his hand on the opposite side of the stairs and waiting for his baby to come down.

"Hey, Mang Tasyo, get out of my house." Zein approached him and pulled him by the arm but he became heavy. "What? I'll call the police if you don't leave. You are trespassing!"

He turned to her with wide eyes. Even in the dark, she could see his grin. She suddenly became nervous for no reason.

"Zelda!" She just held her breath when he hugged her. Amos is very heavy. He almost made her bed.

"You quit. I'm not my sister!" Zein pushed Amos away but his soft giggle on the side of her neck gave her a strange feeling. It was as if electricity flowed through her entire body. It was only at that moment that she felt that kind of feeling. It's scary but it's good to feel it again.

Amos sighed and touched both of her cheeks. She looks like a fish because her lips have been pinched by his palms.

"Sweetheart, I love you," the man said with his eyes narrowed. He still smiled and it was obvious from that smile that he was really drunk. "I should be the one you married."

Zein's heart felt compassion at what the man said. She did not know what happened between her sister and Amos. She had no right to judge but she couldn't help feeling sorry for the man's situation. Amos seems to love her sister very much. Her sister was lucky because someone loves her dearly.

"I should be your groom. Why did you let Race steal you away from me?" Amos scolded like a child in front of her, no tears but sad eyes.

But all the pity she felt for the man suddenly disappeared when he quickly put his lips to hers. She couldn't stop it because it was too fast.

My first kiss!

She immediately pushed him and punched him in the face. Amos just laid on the floor and laughed. He didn't care if it hurt. Zein held both of his feet. She pulled him as he lay out of her gate.

"This is the right place for a stealer like you!"

Zein let the inebriate to sleep on the highway. She rushed through and shut the gate. When she sensed her heart beating more quickly, she leaned over, grabbed her chest, and loosened her knees. A little while later, she made contact with her lips. She ruffled her hair when she closed her eyes.

Grumbling, she entered the house and shouted. "Kiss stealer!"

Chapter 3 The Accident

"Nanny, ah!" Amos couldn't stop complaining as his Nanny Tasing put ointment on his back wounds. It's just scratches after all but it still really hurts.

"Where did you get these wounds? What are you doing with your life?" his nanny asked in a disappointing tone.

"I don't know. Ouch! Take it easy."

The old woman handed him the ice pack and he touched it to the bump on his forehead. Not only that, when he looked in the mirror earlier, he saw the wound on the side of his lip.

Where did I get these wounds?

Amos tried to remember what happened to him but the last thing he remembered was when Barney took him to Zelda's house. He knew at that time that he had had enough of alcohol so his friend just let him do what he wanted to do, after all it was safe in the village.

"Why did you get drunk, Amos?"

"Just to escape..."

The elderly lady sighed. "I know you can't accept that you and Zelda split up, but I hope you move on from your ex. She is wed to another person. Simply be joyful for her."

Amos put on his white shirt after taking it off. He still has to visit the bakery. He is only concerned with managing one of Reo's bakeshop's Pasay locations and baking. Though his father is still in good health, he will inherit all of their enterprises. He is therefore extremely fortunate that his parents did not put any pressure on him to run the business.

Because he desired to purchase a home of his own, Amos departed their mansion. Savings from his early days as a pastry chef were used to purchase the land and build his home in the community. When he started his own business, his income only rose.

"Nanny, how can I be happy if they cheated on me?"

The old woman shook his head. "You won't really be happy because you don't want to accept everything."

Amos simply did not respond. His nanny was correct. He was unable to accept their lie. They were content, whereas he was not. Is there a man who is content to be duped by the woman with whom he is in a relationship? Not only were his feelings crushed, but so was his manhood.

A few moments later, his driver, Kuya Nelson arrived. "Sir Amos, I got your car at the Saranico Hotel." He took the key from the man and thanked him.

He faced his nanny again with something in mind. "How did I get home?"

"You were taken by the village guards who patrol every night. They said that they saw you in front of Zelda's house. You actually slept there."

Amos' eyes widened in shock. "What?"

Amos scratched his nose. He couldn't recall what happened, but it had to have happened close or within Zelda's house, because he had cuts and bruises. He must recall what happened to him in order for his thinking to be clear.

"I thought you might have been robbed but that's impossible. Security is tight here, isn't it?"

He nodded and let out a deep breath. "Yaya, I have to go."

"Eat your breakfast, Amos. Your mommy doesn't want you to skip meals," the old woman reminded him.

Amos only winced. His mother still considered him a baby, which is why when he was separated from them, she grieved all over. Amos' mother wishes to have five caregivers in their home since she claims there is no one to care for him. He refused to accept it, but his mother pushed. Fortunately, she agreed that Yaya Tasing, two assistants, and the driver Kuya Nelson would be the only ones accompanying him. The house was too big for him, and he would struggle if he was the only one there.

While driving to Reo's bakeshop, Zelda came back to his memory. They have been in a relationship for two years. He knew he didn't miss it. He always gave her enough time even though they were both busy so he couldn't understand why she cheated on him and just left him.

Amos told them that while he accepted everything, he was not numb enough to not experience agony. He couldn't stop tampering with their reception because he was filled with uncontrollable rage. His ex-girlfriend assumed everything was good with him, but it wasn't. He knew it was wrong, but as long as his desire for the woman lasted, he had the determination to reclaim her from Race. He didn't mind that she was married. He would accept Zelda no matter how many times she trod on his dignity if given the chance.

A few moments later, his mother called him over the phone. "Baby!"

"Mommy, why did you call?"

"I just want to know if you're okay. I missed you, Amos." He could hear the sadness in his mother's tone.

"Your tone makes me feel like I don't want to visit you there," he said with a laugh.

Amos heard her grumbling. Sometimes, his mommy was really childish so his conscience eats him everytime he rejects his mother.

"You should live here again. I only have maids with me. When will you give us a grandchild? I want a baby girl but if not, at least a baby boy," she said excitedly.

Amos smiled. Even him, he really wanted to have children and build a family but he didn't expect that all his plans would be ruined.

"We'll get there too, Mommy. You know Zelda and I just broke up, right?"

"Hey, find a new girl. Get married already. I want a grandchild."

That was one of the reasons why he wanted to start a family. He did not receive pressure at work but his parents pressured him to have a wife and children. Zelda was perfect to be a wife and to be the mother of his children. She's beautiful, loving and caring-ideal enough to be a mother.

Amos was about to park in the bakeshop's parking lot when a car suddenly backed up in front of him. "What the-" He just blurted out.

"What happened, son?" his mother asked worriedly.

"Mommy, I'll just call you later. Bye." He immediately hung up. He got down and looked at his car. The front left side of his car flattened. He just looked up when he saw the black boots of a woman.

"Big brother, sorry. I am really sorry. I didn't-" She stopped what she was going to say when the woman saw his face.

"Do you really want to ruin my day, Zeinab?" Amos asked the woman annoyingly.

As Zein always did, she once again placed the tip of her tongue inside the cheek before speaking. The woman looked at him arrogantly. "Do you think I meant it? I'm sorry for the damage. Let's have a deal 'cause I don't want to see you anymore, Mang Tasyo. You are unlucky in my life."

Amos was irritated by Zein's appearance. Her loose hair yesterday was now in a ponytail. She was wearing ripped jeans with black and white underwear topped with a denim jacket. She was wearing ankle boots on her feet. She also had a lot of accessories on hand. Only now did he notice that her ear piercings were not just one pair because of the number of earrings in her ears. Her lips, dyed black, were still there.

Amos didn't like her clothes because they were filthy. He preferred people who were humble and those who dressed glamorously, such as Zein's sister, but he couldn't stop himself from staring at the woman. It was as if a magnet attracted him to her. Perhaps the only time she dressed appropriately was for Zelda's wedding.

I don't like this woman!

"Are you fed up?" Zein sneered. That's him again. He lost himself in front of the woman. He didn't like the feeling she caused him.

"What did you say?"

"You stare at me too much. I'll melt, you know."

"Excuse me?" Amos was amazed at what the woman said. She had a very high self-confidence that came to the point that it was irritating. Zein was really proud because she caught him staring but he won't admit it-never.

I will never admit it even when I die.

A memory came back to Amos. It was as if a video flashed through his mind and he realized what had happened to him that night.

"You!" Amos suddenly shouted.

The woman just answered. "Yes, me."

"I remember now. You dragged me out of my girlfriend's house!"

That made Zein laugh. "Let's do a reality check, huh? You're an ex-boyfriend." She really emphasized the word ex. "One more thing, that's my house so I have the right to dispose of you."

Amos ran out of patience with the woman. This was the only woman who showed the evil of her behavior. Maybe Zein was just adopted because she has a different attitude to Zelda. "What do you think of me? A trash that needs to be disposed of immediately?"

Zein inhaled and narrowed his eyes. "Yes? You are trash, aren't you?" She even managed to smile while he was as if his nose was smokey from being so annoyed.

"You are biodegradable..." she repeated. "Rotting!"

"You are so mean!"

"Because I'm annoyed with you! You bastard! You stole my first kiss and I really hate you for that!"

Amos remembered. He mistook her for Zelda so he kissed her. If he was in his right mind at that time, he wouldn't have kissed the damn woman.

Oh, really?

Amos simply wrinkled his nose. Whether he admits it or not, he was drawn to Zein. He couldn't understand himself. He didn't like what he did, so why did he experience a tinge of pleasure when he discovered he was the woman's first kiss?

"Give me your phone number," Amos commanded.

"Why?"

"So, my secretary can talk to you so we can settle what happened to my car."

Even though Zein was surprised, she still gave the phone number. It would be nice if she just talked to his secretary so that his car could be fixed. Also, they will definitely only argue again when they meet or talk again.

"Is it okay now? I'm leaving. I'm going to go somewhere else," she said goodbye. Zein was about to turn away but he didn't know why he grabbed her arm to stop her.

Why are you doing this, Amostacio?

"Again?"

"Ah..." He didn't know what to say. Why did he stop her?

"What? I'm in a hurry," Zein's expression was irritated.

He removed his hold on her arm. Amos just clenched his hand and put it down. "I just want to..."

The woman looked at him with an eyebrow raised. He didn't know what to say, all he knew was that he didn't want her to leave.

"I just want to... bring you to the police station. Yes, that's right. I'll take you to the police station!" he convinced himself.

He just closed his eyes when he saw the shock on Zein's face. "You're out of your mind!"

I'm sh*t!

"Why are you taking me to the police station, Mang Tasyo?" Zein asked in disbelief. "I thought, is that okay? You even took my number."

"I will report you..."

"For?"

Amos suddenly thought of retaliating against the woman. It looks like she did not want to be taken to the police station. He will just scare her. He won't bring her to that station.

"You have many sins against me."

"And so what?"

Amos was the one who looked at Zein arrogantly. He raised his face so that she looked up at him. He smiled secretly.

"I received physical abuse from you when you dragged me out of your house." Zein just blinked and folded her arms. "Earlier, what you did was verbal abuse. You called me trash."

"You are trespassing. Have you been hospitalized? Have you been in the ICU? More importantly, did you die? Not really, huh? You're unbelievable," Zein said, shaking her head and emphasizing the pronunciation of the word dead as if she wanted it to happen to him.

"I'm bad for you because you have a bad attitude." He pointed to his lump. "Do you see this? This is a lump."

Zein laughed softly. "I am not sorry for that. That's your fault, okay?"

Amos straightened up because of embarrassment and he pointed to the wound on the side of his lip. "How do you explain this?"

He took a step back when Zein's eyes narrowed slightly at him. "You deserved that. You kissed me!"

Amos grabbed the hem of his shirt to lift it up. He wanted to show his wounds. "What about this wound of mine in-"

"Rape! Rape! Help me! This man is a rapist!" Zein shouted suddenly.

He immediately reached for her mouth to stop her from screaming. People were already looking at them. "This is my girlfriend. We had a misunderstanding. Sorry, people."

People have lost their attention. He turned to Zein. "Isn't it, Honey?" He didn't know what was going through his mind and he kissed her quickly on the cheek making her eyes widen.

Zein suddenly stepped on his foot causing him to release her mouth. The heel of her ankle boots was pointed. Amos jumped in great pain as his foot hurt. "Why did you do that, witch? You're a scandalous woman. I'll report to you!"

"I should be the one reporting you to a policeman. That is your punishment for kissing my cheek... and my lips!" He sat down on the road with Zein's every blow. When she was satisfied, she got into her car.

The woman peeked out of the window. "Get your car out of there!"

Amos instantly got into his car and reversed it. When he took a deep breath, the woman had already disappeared. He has never been called a rapist in his life. He didn't even know how to flirt or womanize before being labeled a rapist. He kissed her, but not so much that he became horny.

"It hasn't been twenty-four hours but Zeinab has already caused too much pain."
