"Cheers To A lovely New Year"
The clicking sound of whiskey shot glasses rang in the dimly lit atmosphere, four muscular hands moved the shots each to their lips and downed the hot drinks, then a round of deep merry laughter commenced.
Four young men sat around a table by the corner of a classy night club, ladies in thongs and bras mischievously circled round their table amidst the loud music, eyes flicking sexíly at the men who stared at them with interest.
Well, all the men ogled at the half naked women except one, Harrison Daniels.
"Cheers to a new year man" Jace, one of the men reluctantly moved his eyes from the fat ass lady infront of him towards Harrison and lightly clicked his glass with his.
It was the first of January, the beginning of the year. Just about 02:00 am, very early in the morning, the place was filled with people who stayed up partying all night to see the new year.
Smokes from hookahs and cigarettes blurred the atmosphere, strippers mounted poles professionally at the front stage while haggard looking men with hungry eyes struggled to touch them meanwhile the more responsible men like Harrison and his friends only stared from a distance.
" I'll head home now, first flight to Paris tomorrow" one of the men stood up and bade goodbye.
"Yeah, me too... First flight to South Africa. It's the beginning of the year and business is already calling. Alright... See ya"
The two found their way out, leaving the other two as their table became quiet once again.
"Cheers man" Harrison took a sip from his drink before returning the glass to the table, his face held no hint of happiness, just cold distant eyes with cheeks that have been starved of smiling.
While both men sat in silence, a lady walked down to Jace and started touching him, rubbing his head and chest seductively. Jace seemed to be enjoying what the lady was doing, his hand moved up and grabbed the lady's ass.
Harrison only stared with a disgusted look. Ignoring them, he took a sip from his Martel.
Once the lady was gone, Jace gave a long stare at Harrison, thinking how on earth a man could harden himself towards women.
And not just that, for such a long time. The issue of Tricia, his ex happened a long time ago, over six to seven months now and Harrison was still not going to move on?
"You know... It's a new year" Jace spoke up.
"So?" Harrison's voice was dry and held no emotions.
"So cheer up, you gotta let go of the past, let go of last year "
" yesterday... "Harrison sounded sarcastic.
" Come on Harry, cool off! and move on"
" I am cool" Harrison took his glass and sipped his wine, his jaws clenched as he carefully placed the glass on the table.
" You are not cool Harry, just take a look at you..."
" I guess I'm hot then" Harry fished out his phone and started operating it. Not even the lightest smile stained his lips meanwhile Jace chuckled at his little joke.
" What ever man, you need to get a life, and forget about Tricia" Jace emptied his wine.
The mention of Tricia brought an irritated expression to Harry's face.
"She's in the past, she's in last year, you cannot punish yourself because of some undeserving bitch, get a smile back on your face and get another girl!"
Jace stood up, extending his arm as both shook hands before Jace departed.
"I don't need another one" Harry spoke in a low stern voice.
He emptied his wine, picked up his car keys and the expensive bottle of wine before exiting the club, thankfully he did not drink too much to get drunk.
Harrison's previous relationship did not really go as he wanted. Tricia had successfully gotten Harry wrapped around her fingers, he was insanely in love with her to the extent of doing absolutely anything for her.
Harrison thought he had seen his soul mate, being with her made him see no reason to look at other girls because she was enough.
Was it pretty face?, She was so pretty. Boobs and ass?...Check!
Whenever he was around her, he would feel like time had stopped, he always had a bright uncontrollable smile on his face, it was obvious that he really loved her.
Harry visited Tricia unannounced one fateful Saturday. The memories were still fresh in his mind, like it just happened yesterday.
Upon entering into her apartment, Harrison's eyes saw his own woman bent over and screwed mercilessly from behind just in the living room.
He felt so devastated, disregarded, played, disrespected, in general, he felt like a foolish idiot.
That whole experience was able to completely wipe out happiness and smiles from his life.
Driving through the night, his eyes stared straight ahead of him as he moved slowly. It was a new year, he looked around and saw people rejoicing and displaying all sorts of fireworks and fire crackers.
Couples standing together with hands connected, smiling into each other's eyes.
Some held tightly unto their partners, eating up each other's lips shamelessly by the road side. Harrison moved his eyes off the displays and stepped harder on the accelerator not wanting to see any more of it.
He saw the looks on those men's faces and he recognized the looks because he once used to have same look when he was with Tricia. If only he could warn those innocent men before they ended up like him.
Women were not to be trusted, they were cunning and heartless humans who only want your money.
Harrison got home that morning and went straight to bed.
••.
Tricia sat opposite her date for the night with distant eyes, swirling her champagne flute in her hand while the date of a guy kept talking on and on, not caring if she listened to him or not.
Both sat at a secluded area in a five star restaurant where they earlier booked for the night.
Tricia was not really listening to the man at all, she was rather uninterested in him as she would rather have Harrison her ex in front of her because he was better than all other guys she had been with.
He was wealthier than them but unfortunately she couldn't have him anymore, he broke up with her and that was about six to seven months ago.
But why did he even break up? Because she cheated?, People cheat, so what?
He had no right to dump her. Anger seethed through her veins. Not only did he dump her, he humiliated her in front of the general public, she wanted to get back at him and she would make sure she did so.
She already had everything planned out, all she needed now was a little minion, a pawn who would play the game.
Tricia suddenly stood up, causing the man to stop speaking in surprise.
"Are you leaving?" He asked with a confused expression.
Tricia kept her glass on the table, the sound echoing in the atmosphere.
"Happy new year, Mr colour"
"Um... It's Grey" he corrected but it seemed she did not care.
" I do not care what colour you are, bye!"
she brushed passed him and cat walked out of the restaurant. Mr Grey only stared back at her retreating figure for a while before returning his gaze to his front.
Tricia was a pretty lady but her character was 'Zero', no wonder she was dumped. He shook his head in disapproval as he emptied his glass before leaving.
In a small apartment, there lived a family of four. A middle aged couple with their two daughters, Liliana the first child, twenty two years old and a bit naive, Emma the last child, twelve years old.
The four of them gathered in the small living area as they celebrated the new year together. Beautiful smiles plastered on their faces as they celebrated with a little feast.
Time went by and it was almost dawn, Liliana took her little sister inside so that she could sleep. Her eyes were already heavy though.
"Alright Emma, let's go in" Holding her hand, she led her into their small room and helped her into the bed.
"Go to bed now... You need to rest" she placed a loving peck on her cheeks before tucking her in, she too prepared to go to bed too as she had a big day ahead but a sudden ring from her phone caught her attention.
She stared at her phone with curiosity, what could it be?
Stretching her hand, she quickly picked it up from the small dressing table and scrolled to check, having hope within her that it was her little salary that had hit her account as the month of December had ended.
Unfortunately it was not her salary alert but something different and heartbreaking. It was a break up text from her boyfriend.
Well, the message did not really get to her because she had always had it in mind that he did not love her.
It was a new year, people were letting go of the past and obviously she was his past that he was letting go of.
There was no need to reply the text, she mindlessly tossed the phone on the table and lay beside her sister. Her initial plan was to go to bed and await the new dawn, forgetting all her past.
And also letting go of her boyfriend that was now her ex, he did not matter to her, or so she thought as she now found her self feeling sad.
So, he really broke up with her?, On a new year dawn? How heartless of him to do so. Though she had it in mind that he did not really love her but it still hurt.
She found herself sobbing into her pillow, many thoughts running through her mind. Her head was slowly trying to process a reason why her boyfriend left her.
What really happened though?, What did she do?, Where did she go wrong?, He said he loved her... And she too loved him so what then happened?
...
Just like a flick of a light switch, the morning came.
Liliana slowly opened her eyes as they adjusted to the light coming in from the window.
A short yawn ripped out of her mouth as she stretched, realizing that she actually cried herself to sleep last night.
Laying for a while, she had a mental rundown of the activities that happened yesterday, from the morning to the night, her eyes hurting a little, probably because of crying.
So she actually cried?, She released a mocking scoff obviously mocking herself for crying over an undeserving bastard.
Casting a glance at her sister who was still sleeping, she dragged her feet towards the bathroom, undressed and got under the shower.
As the water fell on her head and rushed down her body, it felt as though all her burdens were being washed away too.
Coming out from the shower, she had a lighter spirit. Liliana got dressed, all ready to leave for work with a cheerful heart, after all, it was a new year.
There was no use crying and sulking over some one who clearly felt nothing towards her. Grabbing her bag, she headed downstairs.
"Honey?... You are ready to leave? "
"Yes, bye mom!"
She dashed put because she was running late already, she wanted to start the new year with a clean sheet so she had to be early.
Getting to the classy restaurant where she worked as a waitress, things did not go quite smoothly as she envisaged.
She was choked with so much work as it was the beginning of the year and so many people came in to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Her manager too did not help the matter as she (manager) kept yelling and scolding her for one thing or the other. Liliana was fed up but she was only an employee, there was nothing she could do.
Just to obey and say "yes ma'am" to every order given to her.
As if all that was not enough, just when she was about to head home after work, feeling very tired and worn out, a mean looking lady called her to a corner and said to her-
"I have a deal for you"
Harrison stood infront of the large mirror, his hands sleekly fixed up the buttons of his white shirt, leaving the top three undone as he prepared to leave for work.
The bright morning sun filtered into the dark room, reflecting on his white shirt and the mirror because those were the only reflective objects, other objects plus the rest of the room were painted in dark colours, mostly black.
He looked quite breathtaking that morning in his crisp white shirt and straightened jett black trouser. His broad muscular shoulders and broad chest stood out perfectly under the body fitted shirt. Quite a gorgeous look for a Billionaire CEO.
Harrison took his phone from the beautifully chiseled dressing table before heading out. He stayed alone in his exquisite mansion, only accompanied by the little workers.
The security men who's station was the gates, bodyguards, cooks and few cleaners.
His car was already set, he entered in and the door was shut, in less than thirty minutes he arrived at his enterprise.
The moment he stepped in, every incessant movement and chatters ceased instantly as his employees immediately went quiet, finding one thing or another to busy themselves with.
The only sound that could be heard was the sound his shoes made as they came in contact with the ground.
Everyone mindfully avoided contact with those dark, void and uncompassionate eyes.
Harrison took his time as he strode carefully inside the large hall full of workers with lowered heads waiting for him to move in completely out of sight, fear coursed through their bodies.
Their breaths got stuck in their chests, trying not to make even the lightest sound as they worked carefully amidst the tension that built up in the atmosphere.
These part of the mornings were always dreaded because if anything wasn't in order and he walks in and sights it, who ever is responsible would bid good bye to his job that instant.
His eyes scanned every corner, searching for anything or anyone that was out of line and he found none, he moved on gradually into his private elevator, his finger gently tapped on one of the buttons.
His hands carefully found their way back into his pockets as the elevator doors slowly slid shut.
The workers all released breaths of relief as Harry was gone. That was how they spent their mornings. Their boss really had the tendency to make a person cower in fear with just a glance.
He was not like that, he just suddenly turned cold one fateful day and since then, he remained that way.
On the tenth floor, Harrison stepped out of the elevator as soon as it came to a stop and the doors slid open.
Harrison moved down the spacious hallway till he got to a beautiful brown metal door with the initials CEO engraved at the mid top.
He unlocked it by placing his palm on the handprint sensor, pushed the door open and walked in while his personal assistant came in after him.
"Good morning sir" the thin nerdy looking man with big round glasses greeted but Harry gave no response which was the usual.
Harry sat down on his swivel chairs and flipped open his laptop, his fingers danced on the keys for few seconds before his expression changed from a cold one to one with a glint of danger, it only turned darker.
"Saint,.... where is my schedule?" His voice came out with a mixture of warning and impending danger.
"Oh... Sir.... I... "
"You what?, ...You're fired " Harry spoke softly, shooting a deadly glare at Saint.
" Oh... Please sir, I... " Saint's heart skipped beats as he tried to explain. He was one jittery and fearful person, trying to avoid problems at all cost.
"I could not send it to your system sir .. I... I have the hard copy with me, printed out sir" he swallowed the knot that had formed at the base of his mouth. His whole body shaking, he was just about to loose his job.
Harrison's hard eyes lingered a bit on the Saint's unstable scared ones before he looked away, continuing with the laptop.
"Read it" he commanded and immediately, Saint read away.
Saint was his personal assistant, he was not huge and muscular, just a thin, jittery, nerd-looking young man.
Harrison liked the man because he was loyal and humble.
"... and lastly sir, meeting with Natureline enterprise" Saint concluded.
"Natureline?" Harry asked though his eyes did not leave his system.
"Yes sir at the grande Lux event center, ... Mr Lincoln, the CEO has put forth an invitation to you sir, asking you to join him celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of his brand"
" He wishes to have a meeting with you during the event" Saint added.

•LEGENDARY LUCA'S RESTAURANT•
It was soon evening, Tricia sat alone at a corner of the restaurant with eyes dancing around her surrounding. Her eyes did not fail to miss any event that happened, people coming in and people going out.
Every little thing that happened, her eyes took vivid record of them. Those eyes of hers also did not fail to notice a little waitress who was being scolded by a senior colleague, probably the manager.
She watched with a piqued interest, noticing how humble and obedient the girl was to the manager, bending to every will and wish of the woman.
Tricia smirked as she sipped her drink. That waitress was exactly the kind of person she needed for her plan. Someone she would be able to control, someone she would be able to use with ease.
Tricia stayed quietly, waiting till Liliana closed for the day and that was about 08:00pm.
The moment Liliana left the restaurant, Tricia immediately moved out, catching up with her outside.
"Hey!" Liliana heard someone yell from behind her but she did not bother to turn around, she was so tired and all she wanted was to go hone and have some sleep.
"Hey! ...You there! " The authoritative female voice rang again, somehow it felt like she was the one being called so she decided to turn around to find out if truly she was the one being called.
Indeed she was the one.
She came to a stop on seeing the lady who was calling her, powerfully striding down to her, her hips swaying and hair flying in the wind.
For a second, Liliana became confused as to why someone like Tricia would be calling her, what did she want from her? or perhaps she had done something that offended her?
"Good day ma'am" Liliana greeted her with a shaky voice, fear threatening to overpower her as she looked around and saw two men in bodyguards attire, holding firmly unto huge guns.
Obviously the lady who stood few meters away from her, giving her a head over glance was not a commoner.
"G... good day ma-" She greeted again as the other one was unanswered but Tricia cut her in.
"I have a deal for you,... A huge deal that would definitely change your life"
Liliana stared at the lady with widened eyes, thinking what kind of deal she was talking about.
"I want you to carry out a very simple task worth hundreds of dollars, I know you are interested, here is my card"
Tricia fished out a card containing little information and handed it to her.
"Call me" Tricia walked away, her little entourage followed behind her, leaving Liliana to herself. She could not understand what just happened.
She held unto the black and red card in her hand as she took slow steps, walking away from the restaurant, the words of Tricia replaying vividly in her head.
What exactly did she mean by a deal worth hundreds of dollars? Thinking about the situation of her family, hundreds of dollars would really do so much for her.
Pushing the door to the back of her mind she continue to walk down the dark quiet streets leading to her home.
"Lilly!" Her little sister jumped into her arms the moment she stepped into the house.
"Hey... Babygirl... How are you?" Liliana crouched down to the girls height and placed a kiss on her cheek, she noticed that Emma wasn't so happy.
"What happened Emma?, What's the problem?"
" It's daddy" she muttered in her little voice.
Liliana's heart skipped a beat on hearing her sister's response and the next question that came into her mind was 'what happened to her father?'
" Emma,... What happened to dad?" She asked the little girl but got no response.
Liliana got more worried, what had happened to her father?. She moved towards the kitchen and found her mother preparing dinner.
" Honey, you're back-"
" Mom, what happened to dad?"
She questioned with worried eyes and the expression she saw on her mother's face did nothing in helping the situation.
"He um..., he had an attack but don't worry.. he's- "
Liliana did not wait for her mother to complete her statement as she hurriedly left to go and check up on her father.
"Dad?" She called softly as she approached his room, he lay on the bed with a duvet covering half his body.
"Are you okay dad?"
"Lilly... " He muttered her name as he tried to sit up.
"No.... Don't bother to sit, just stay... Are you comfortable?, Do you need anything? "
" No.. . I'm okay, don't stress yourself"
Liliana only stared with dampened eyes, she felt so devastated as she did not know what to do to help her father. He was sick and he needed treatment but where would she get the money from?.
Her salary would only take them halfway in the treatment thereby stacking up bills that she would pay.
"Don't worry Lily, I am fine" he released a dry smile.
"Oh... Father" she hugged him comfortingly.
**
After dinner that day, they all retied to bed. All except Lily who could not sleep, so many things ran through her mind.
Her father's health, the lady who offered her a deal, she thought hard about accepting the deal as she really needed the money.
For many nights, she kept pondering, since after that day, she had not seen the lady again. The only thing she had was the card that she gave her.
Turning the card in her hand, she scrutinized it with her eyes and saw a contact number. It should be the lady's own.
Liliana though about accepting the deal because the money was greatly needed, she would literally do anything to gather the money her father needed.
Speaking of doing anything, she then remembered that she did not even know what the deal was all about.
¶
The sun was up, Tricia sat on her swivel chair with furious eyes as she scolded a woman who was obviously twice her age.
She was the owner of Tris's Beauty and Fashion Enterprise.
"I have made it clear to you to always clean my office every evening before you leave, why are you only doing it this morning??"
"Forgive me ma'am, It was really late last night and I had to leave because of my kids"
" I don't care if it's 12 AM, always make sure my office is cleaned properly before leaving, is that clear?)"
"Yes ma'am" the lady bowed, holding her broom and dustpan firmly.
"Now get out! "
The lady scurried away, leaving Tricia alone.
Tricia relaxed into her chair with a pissed expression on her pretty face, she really hated it when her orders were not taken seriously.
She kept a sour look which only brightened when she noticed her phone ringing.
She took it and saw that it was an unknown number, she swiped green and answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello ma'am, it's the girl you offered a deal."
On hearing the girl's response, a smirk formed on her lips.
"Um... I've been thinking about what you said ma'am, can I know more about this deal...?"
Indeed the girl really needed the money, and she herself needed a minion to carry out her master plan, so it's was going to be a win-win situation.
"Meet me at ENZO'S DELIGHT by 9pm" Tricia cut the call and tossed her phone carelessly on the table, still having that smile on her face.
She could literally see her plan coming to life and she couldn't help but to feel sorry for Harrison because of all that she had in stock for him.
Truth be told, she still loved him but what was the use of loving someone who did not feel same way towards you? She knew that Harrison will never love her again.
So instead of begging and crawling back to him for his love, why not pay him back in his own coins, make him feel what she felt and pass through what she too passed through when he left. At least she could get even with him.
Releasing a chuckle from her throat, she pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind and went back to work.

•LEGENDARY LUCA'S RESTAURANT•
Liliana just finished with the call inside the workers' locker room, she stood up straight, staring at her reflection in the mirror.
Dark circles were very visible around her eyes, indicating that she hadn't had enough sleep for the past few days.
After much thinking, she finally concluded that she would at least get to know more about the deal. If it was something she could do or worth doing for hundreds of dollars then she would definitely accept it.
But what if it was something that she could not do?, What if it was to take out someone? Chills engulfed her as the thought lingered in her mind... Would she be able to take out someone for money?
Would she be able to... Kíll?
Her train of thoughts were interrupted by the persistent call by her manager.
"Liliana!?... Liliana!? Where is she?... Liliana? "
" Yes ma'am!... Coming ma'am! " She organized herself and hurried out of the locker room to answer the call.
"There you are, Liliana!, Where have you been? There are so many people out there. Go now... Go and take their orders... "
"Right away ma'am "
Liliana hurriedly returned back to the hall and saw a lot of people.
"Oh wow, Just a little break and so many people have already come in " she muttered as she made her way to a random person to take orders.
While going about her work, her eyes caught a figure casually sitting at the corner of the hall, his eyes solely fixed on his phone.
Liliana stared for just a split second before taking her eyes off the man.
'wow' she said inwardly, her hands moving smoothly as she arranged the table for a guest.
She thought the man was good looking, but a smile on his face would really enhance his charming look and does he not look familiar?.
Out of her own accord, her eyes moved again to look at the man one last time before leaving with the empty tray.
She knew she just stared and ogled at a man and she did not really feel bad for doing it because she was a woman and women are naturally attracted to the opposite gender so, yeah.
Liliana was only trying to defend her earlier action of ogling and admiring a stranger.
In realization of her actions, a guilty smile broke out on her lips, but it wasn't really her fault, he was handsome.
An idea popped up in her head and she did not think twice about it, she rushed out to go and take his order at least so that she could get a closer view of him but unfortunately he wasn't there anymore.
"Oh ... hard luck Lily" She felt a bit disappointed but she smiled to herself as she headed to another customer.
**
The evening soon came and she was getting ready to close for the day, rounding up with her own duties and getting set to leave. When the clock struck 08:00 pm, she took her bag and walked out of the restaurant.
Her next destination now was Enzo's delight eatery. Without bothering to stop by her home, she immediately flagged down a cab.
"Good evening sir..."
"Evening my dear... Where to?"
" Enzo's delight"
" Alright, hop in"
Liliana got in and shut the door just before the driver stepped on the accelerator. She knew that the meeting time was by 09:00 but there was no harm in getting there a bit early.
In twenty minutes time, they arrived at Enzo's delight.
•ENZO'S DELIGHT RESTAURANT•
Liliana went into the eatery, heading to the counter to get a bottle of water before locating a seat where she settled and waited.
Seconds turned into minutes and minutes into an hour, still Tricia had not arrived, it was already twenty minutes past nine.
Liliana began to have a rethink. Maybe she shouldn't have come here, maybe she never should have called the lady ..
While having a rethink, she casually moved her eyes and they settled on a pretty lady with this bossy aura powerfully striding into the restaurant.
"She's here" she muttered to herself as the lady approached her table and sat down on the opposite chair while her bodyguards took their stance just behind her.
"Good evening ma'am" Liliana greeted with shaky voice, somehow this lady always made her feel so scared and powerless, well... course she was powerless.
"I um ... I have come to know more about the deal ma'am " Liliana gulped as she stared timidly at Tricia who remained quiet, only staring at her with piercing eyes.
"I... I want to know... What I am expected to -"
" I want you..." Tricia cut her in. " To make someone fall deeply in love with you, then you break his heart in the most cruel and painful way ever" Tricia stated with one breath.
Liliana stared with wide eyes, did she just hear what she thought she heard?
"Ma'am?... You... You want me to..."
"Exactly!..um....."
" Liliana... "
" Exactly, Liliana " Tricia kept a poker face as she relaxed into the chair while Liliana's eyes fluttered as she tried to soak in what she just heard.
So the deal was to make someone fall in love with her then break the person's heart? How possible was it going to be? And all these for how much?
"Um... I'm sorry ma'am, for how much? "
"Eight. Hundred. Fuvking. Dollars. " Tricia stated nonchalantly as she picked on her pretty nicely done nails.
"Oh my gawd..." Eight hundred dollars? For breaking someone's heart? The money was huge but, would she be able to break someone's heart?
She recalled how she felt when her heart was broken, it was not a good feeling at all and now she was to make someone feel that way? Hell no.
She was already feeling guilty for even thinking about it.
"Um... Ma'am... I don't think I -"
"Think about the money and all it would do for you" Tricia added.
'oh... She's right' lily thought. She needed the money but the task was not an easy one.
"It is a very simple task and mind you, keep your heart out of this. It is purely business! "
" I ... I understand ma'am but... I will have to think about it... Please "
Tricia stared at lily for a while, her face void of any emotion. "I can see you do not want the money, I will find someone else"
" Oh no... Ma'am, please... Just give me time to think properly, just a little more time"
" You see little girl, time is what I do not have, better you make your thoughts now and fast"
On cue, Liliana started thinking about it, she needed the money, but the task was not something she would want to do.
Making someone love her then breaking the person's heart?, That wasn't fair, or maybe she was only overthinking the whole thing.
At least she wasn't going to kill someone, just breaking his heart right?
But what if the plan doesn't go well?, What I'd she ended up falling-
"So ... What is going to be?"
"I .. I need to know who I'm dealing with-"
" Don't bother about who he is, just get the job done.... So?"
"I accept then" she gulped nervously.
On hearing her response, Tricia smirked sinisterly. Exactly what she thought.
"Your first task starts right away... This is your guy" Tricia gave a signal with her hand and one of her bodyguards came forward with a tablet showing a picture of Harrison.
"Oh... You might know him"
"I think I.. " He looked familiar but she could not place a finger on where she knew him.
"That is who you are dealing with. Look here Liliana, you double cross me, I will have you kílled"
Chills ran down lily's spine on hearing Tricia's words.
"Go home and prepare yourself, you will receive a mail containing what you have to do"
Immediately, Lilly stood up with shaky legs. " Alright -"
"Boss"
"A... Alright Boss" she bowed a little before hurrying out if the restaurant, her heart pounding inside of her.
She just agreed on a life changing deal, indeed it was going to be life changing for her.
Liliana returned home that night with a suspicious look mixed with guilt feeling. Though she did not realize but she turned into a quiet person ever since she accepted the deal.
She was mostly quiet because she was always thinking about what she was going to do.
Both her parents and colleagues had asked her what the problem was but she would always reply them that everything was fine, giving them a smile that did not come from her heart.
Every now and then, she would check her mail for any new text but she would find nothing.
To her colleagues at work, she was acting strange but they just thought it was nothing, so she always said.
One time when they were on a lunch break, Liliana and her close colleagues got engaged in a discussion among themselves.
Each of them made contribution except one person. Lily. She scrolled through her phone with much attention that the forgot about the discussion.
She couldn't even hear that one of them was calling her name.
"Lily... Lilly!".
"Yes!" Her eyes widened as she held the phone tightly to her chest.
"What's up with you... You've been acting strange"
" Oh ... It's nothing... Trust me" she smiled.
That was the way things were until one fateful day, or night as the case was. Just when she was getting ready for bed, she heard a ding from her phone.
Immediately, she grabbed it from the dressing table and opened her mail. Behold, her first task.
