Chapter 1 Don't Hide In Silence

"Brian Bian! Brian! Open the door! Stop hiding in silence. I know you're in there!" Layton Li stood outside the presidential suite and banged his fist on the door. The door was almost broken, but he couldn't head a sound coming from the room.

"Mr. Layton... I don't think this is a good idea. Why don't we ask Miss Kylie for the room card?" the assistant followed Layton Li and said obsequiously, with his eyes wide open.

"I feel uncomfortable when I stepped into her hotel. How could you ask me to go to her voluntarily? It's better for me to die as soon as possible." Layton Li frowned and a burst of anger rose from his heart.

As if he heard their conversation, the manager of the hotel appeared just in time to save them. He handed a key card to Layton Li with his hands, and said with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Layton. Miss Kylie sent this room card to you. She said that you needed it."

"What? Ok. Thank her for me. You can leave now," Layton Li said in a serious tone. He could feel his blood boiling deep inside. 'Brian Bian, you're screwed. How could you make me owe that woman a favor? I curse you!'

"Beep!" The door made a sound as it opened. As expected, the living room was a mess. As soon as he entered the main bedroom, Layton Li felt so angry that he could almost pass out.

He thought Brian Bian was drunk and slept all day and night in bed, but he didn't expect him to play so high last night.

Layton Li's head was aching. He thought, 'That's enough! Brian, you're troubling me every day, but here you are having fun.'

"Brian, get up! Your father is about to kill you!" Just as he was about to lift the bed sheet, Layton Li glanced at the bed and felt like something was wrong. There was only a woman sleeping soundly on the bed. As his eyes scanned the room, there was no other person in sight. Was Brian Bian under the quilt? He was not afraid of suffocating to death!

The woman sleeping on the bed was awakened by Layton Li's roar. She quickly got up in surprise. It seemed that she drank a lot last night and her face looked exhausted and worn out. Layton Li couldn't bear to look at her red and swollen face.

The woman's eyes were blurred. After a long time, her gaze finally focused on the strange man in the room. She didn't know him. A few seconds later, her scream penetrated across the hotel.

"You, you, you... Who are you?" the woman shouted, covering her fair-skinned thighs with the quilt. Depressed, she rubbed her long hair and became valiant. She picked up a pillow and threw it at Layton. "How did you come in? Get out!"

"Are you crazy? I'll give you one minute to put on your clothes and get out of here. If you don't, I'll throw you out myself!" Layton had always been a lady's man. This was the first time a woman despised him. When he heard what she said, Layton got angry. He could even feel the blue veins popping out on his forehead as he yelled at her.

The women looked at Layton and obediently shut up. She didn't want to offend him. Why was he so excited? Was he the "boyfriend" of that man from last night?

Unable to wait any longer, she immediately got up to get dressed.

As expected, Layton still didn't see Brian Bian. He quickly grabbed the woman after she got dressed and asked, "Hey, I want to ask you something. Where is the man who was with you last night?"

'Did he leave? It was only ten o'clock in the morning. This wasn't his style.'

The woman was a little shocked at his straightforward words. She calmly put on her coat and said, "You should go under the bed and look for him. If I remember correctly, he slept under the bed last night." Taking out a rose-red lipstick from her bag, she smeared it as looking at the mirror from a distance. "He was so drunk last night and said that the bed was too crowded. He wanted to sleep under it."

Under the bed?! Layton shook his head and thought he had misheard her. He bent over and looked under the bed, only to find that she was correct. Brian was there, sleeping under the bed. He seemed completely oblivious to everything that was happening in the room.

Layton was at s loss for words. Out of rage, he threw a pair of hotel slippers at the sleeping man.

One of the slippers hit his cheek and Brian felt a hard slap on his face. With a sudden groan, he woke up from his dream.

A while ago, he overheard noise coming from outside. It disturbed his peaceful slumber. Last night, he challenged six women, but he was too tired to care about it at all. When he felt the slipper hit him, Brian thought the woman on the bed threw it at him. He suddenly stood up with the intention to scold her, but forgot that he was under the bed. He bumped his head against a hard surface and felt a throbbing pain all over.

"Damn it! Which bastard threw it, huh?" Brian crawled out of the bed with one hand caressing his face and the other rubbing his head. Seeing the dark circles under his eyes, Layton wanted to kick him back to where he came from.

Chapter 2 The Diamond Necklace

When Brian crawled out from under the bed, he looked up and found Layton sitting on the sofa nearby. He had a look of anger and crossed his arms as he silently glared at Brian.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you staring at me like that way?" When he saw that it was only Layton, Brian immediately put on a teasing smile.

He scanned the room and found that the woman he was with last night hadn't left yet. With a dry chuckle, she smirked. "Look, I know that you two are a couple."

Instead of getting angry at what she said, Brian shouted, "Hey, hurry up. My baby kills people whenever he gets angry. I don't want you to die in my friend's hotel. It'll be troublesome to deal with."

"Brian Bian! Enough!" Layton immediately jumped up from the sofa. He really wanted to rush up and kill the bastard who was only giving him more trouble. He shouted in his heart, 'Damn it! I'm totally straight! You should see how many girls I have dated!'

When the woman finally left them alone in the presidential suite, Brian gave Layton a smug grin. "Wait for me. I'll just get a glass of water to sober up. I think I drank too much last night."

Brian was celebrating a friend's birthday last night. His friend had just arrived back from America. Unknowingly, he accidentally drank too much and took several girls back to Kylie's hotel. Barely conscious due to the alcohol, he forgot about everything that happened and somehow fell asleep under the bed.

Layton rolled his eyes. He was already used to the kind of antics his friend pulled. "Why didn't you just drink yourself to death?"

After wiping his mouth, Brian smirked at him. Suddenly, he remembered that he wanted to ask something. "By the way, why did you arrive so early in the morning?"

"Morning? It's already half past ten. The lunch time in your father's company will start in half an hour." Ever since he was a child, Layton had always been the apple of his family's eye. He often got into trouble whenever he was around his friend, Brian.

Brian was twenty years old, while Layton was two years older. Ten years ago, they met at a boring banquet. During the event, they snuck out of the event, but were caught by the security guard who assumed that they were thieves. After the two families explained to the security guard that they were just naughty children, the two boys left a deep impression on one another. Later on, the two families established a good friendship and became familiar with each other.

They were both straight men who liked women. However, regardless of the occasion, Brian enjoyed teasing Layton, a fool that was two years older than him.

He remembered that the last time Brian surprisingly called him 'baby' in an ambiguous tone, was at a dinner party between the two families. This scared both of their parents, who refused that they contacted with each other. After almost half a year of trying to explain to them, they finally believed that Brian was just kidding.

"Something in your father's company got stolen. He got really anxious and angry while he was at the office. He tried to call you, but you turned your phone off. He woke me up early this morning and asked if I could look for you." Layton felt very unlucky. For the entirety of last night, he had been doing work. He wanted to sleep in, but was woken up early by Brian's father to look for him. Of course, Layton first went to the D8 Bar, the place that Brian frequently went to. After inquiring about his friend's actions, he found out that he left with some women while he was drunk. Where else would he go? Luckily, Layton knew that every time Brian went home with a woman, he would take her to the presidential suite of the Gorgeous Hotel.

"What on earth was stolen? Why is he so anxious?" Brian put on his shirt and slowly buttoned it.

"It's not a big deal. A few days ago, your father bought a diamond necklace at auction. I heard that it was locked in the safe in his office, but when he checked, it was somehow stolen and gone." Seeing that his friend was not in a hurry, Layton lit a cigarette and leaned against the window to smoke.

"He deserve it." Brian contorted his face into a mocking frown.

Layton thought for a while and suddenly felt that something was off. "Well, did you steal it? I remember you said you were going to steal it last time."

Brian didn't say anything more. He honestly hoped that the invaluable thing would get stolen. However, he didn't have the spare time to do it himself. He knew what passwords his father usually used. No matter how many times his father changed it, he could easily open the safe and take away the necklace. The reason why Brian hated it so much was because of his father, Theodore Bian, the chairman of the Bian Group. Ever since Brian's mother passed away, Theodore Bian had a woman clinging onto him. He even bought the necklace for her. She was a popular superstar and Theodore Bian had been fond of her for many years. Recently, she went to Sanya to shoot for an advertisement for the upcoming season. Theodore Bian bought the necklace and planned to surprise her with it when she got back.

When he found out that his father bought the expensive diamond necklace just to please his lover, Brian scoffed. Afterwards, he complained to Layton and jokingly said that he would steal it tomorrow. He didn't think that Layton would take it so seriously.

"All right, all right. Whether it was you or not, you should head over to your father's company immediately. My girl thought I was having an affair with someone when your father woke me up earlier this morning."

"An affair? Are you kidding me?" Brian put on a charming smile again and grinned at his friend. "Layton Li, you are notorious for playing around with women in this city. Are you finally going to settle down this time? Which girl has charmed you?"

"Don't take it serious. Maybe I'll get tired of her tomorrow."

Sure enough.

"I knew it." Brian nonchalantly got dressed without caring for the time and smoothed his hair twice in front of the mirror. His father was really stupid. If the necklace got stolen, then he should call the police. What was the use of looking for him? Could he help catch the thief?

Chapter 3 The Bullshit Heir

When Layton and Brian walked out of the presidential suite, they ran into Kylie Ke in the hallway.

Layton quickly jumped behind Brian and whispered to his friend in a low voice, "Hurry up, cover me."

"Are you serious? I'm pretty sure that Kylie can spot your appearance within three hundred meters. Even if I cover you, her gaze can penetrate through me. You should see for yourself if you don't believe me." As he spoke, Brian raised his hand to greet Kylie Ke. She had already been staring at them for a while.

Layton awkwardly coughed and emerged behind Brian. He gave Kylie Ke a perfunctory smile. Even if he greeted her, his smile looked uglier than when he cried.

"Wait for me in the conference room. I'll be back for the afternoon meeting." Kylie Ke handed over some documents to her assistant standing beside her. She then walked up to Layton and Brian with a bright smile. Knowing that Layton would be embarrassed, Kylie Ke decided to fix her attention on Brian and said, "You were drunk when you came to the hotel last night. Are you satisfied with the room I booked for you?"

Brian was impressed at Kylie Ke's ability to fill the awkward silence. He cleared his throat and calmly replied, "Miss Kylie, of course the presidential suite of the Gorgeous Hotel is perfect. I have something else to do, so I have to go now. Perhaps we should drink together next time."

"Okay." Kylie Ke nodded her head with a small chuckle.

Layton immediately tugged at the sleeve of Brian beside him. "Then what... Aren't you in a hurry?" He slowly glanced at Kylie Ke and politely informed her, "We're leaving now. See you later."

After running away, Brian began to gloat in the car.

"It has already been ten years, but you still run away whenever you see her. I think you two are a good match. Why don't you just give in? Every time I see the infatuated look on her face, I feel that you are not a good man."

Layton didn't even bother to look at him while he was driving. He silently gnashed his teeth and frowned. "If only you didn't go to that hotel every time when you got drunk, then I would never have to step into her hotel."

In fact, Kylie Ke was not Layton's real girlfriend. He came to the hotel not because he was afraid of being caught. Kylie Ke had chased him for almost ten years. As a master of love affairs, Layton never refused a beautiful woman, except for Kylie. She was the daughter of the chairman of the Gorgeous Hotel. Everyone called her Miss Kylie. Since she and Layton were from the same background, if Layton agreed, then their families would not oppose their relationship.

Layton knew her before he knew Brian. He didn't hate her, but his feelings for her were very complicated. He didn't want to accept it or hurt her. He couldn't promise to be with her. According to Layton's romantic personality, he was bound to hurt Kylie.

When Brian got out of the car, Layton rolled down the window and said, "If you are still alive after this, call me. My friend's bar is hosting a party tonight. Let's go together."

With his back facing Layton, Brian made an OK gesture and immediately walked inside the building of the Bian Group.

"Brian! How long do you want to play? Something in the company was stolen, but you couldn't be contacted! I've told you many times that you should learn to work in here. When did you ever take my words seriously?" Sitting behind his desk in the corner of the room, Theodore furiously scolded his useless son.

"Dad, I'm very busy. If you want to catch the thief, then you should call the police. I majored in international finance. I didn't attend the police academy. I go to school during the day and attend various social activities in the evening. Your son is very busy, alright? Also, stop bothering Layton with such personal things that don't even concern him. Remember, he's the successor of the Li family." Brian rolled his eyes impatiently and leaned against the sofa. He placed his hands on the edge of the furniture.

"Don't tell me that! Think about your brother's problems! The only person I can count on is you! You should learn to work in the company when you don't have classes!" Theodore ordered.

The calm expression on Brain's faced changed instantly, as if he was a cat whose owner stepped on its tail. "Don't speak ill of my brother in front of me! He is your heir. You should spend more time on my brother than wasting your time on me! Or you can have a baby with that superstar. It's a popular trend nowadays for young women to get pregnant with an old man."

"You!" Theodore was so angry that he stood up from his chair at once. He wished he could rush over and slap his bastard son.

Of course, Brian knew how dangerous it was when his father became angry. With an evil smile, he picked up his coat beside the sofa and quickly rushed out of his father's office. "I'm going to class. I won't come back this week."

After the door closed behind him, Theodore helplessly sank in his chair and groaned.

'Alas, what did I do wrong in my previous life? Why would God punish me this way?' His eldest son was a depressed patient in a clinic and wanted to commit suicide. On the other hand, his younger son was a cynical playboy. Neither of his children were suitable to inherit the growing family business.

On top of his desk were the results of Brian's financial exams for the semester. They were horrible. He forced him to go to the school, but this turned out to be the results.

There were also a large pile of documents on his desk that were waiting for his approval. Theodore couldn't find anyone he trusted completely among his subordinates, and both of his sons offered no help. The Bian Group was the result he had worked hard for almost half of his life. However, he didn't knew who he should hand over its future to.
