Possessed By An Octopus

Author: : Landslide
Genre: Modern
After breaking up with the movie king, I went diving and ended up getting sprayed with ink by a giant octopus. In that moment, I was invaded by the octopus's genes. This creature has nine brains, eight tentacles, and three hearts. My IQ skyrocketed instantly, and the romantic mindset that had troubled me for years was replaced by a new career-focused mindset. This time, I could finally distinguish who truly cared for me and who was just putting on a facade. I fired my angelic bitch of a manager and took control of everything myself. When I argued with netizens, I could take on a hundred of them at once. Later, the movie king called me again: "You respond to netizens pretty quickly, but why can't you see my messages?" I sincerely replied: "Sorry, but my IQ is too high now; you're a bit beneath me."

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

[1]

After breaking up with the famous actor, I decided to go diving and ended up being sprayed with ink by a giant octopus. In that instant, something extraordinary happened-the octopus's genes somehow merged with mine.

This creature has nine brains, eight tentacles, and three hearts. Suddenly, my intelligence soared, and the part of me that had been obsessed with love for years was replaced by a new, career-focused mindset. For the first time, I could clearly see who genuinely cared for me and who was just pretending.

I fired my two-faced manager and took control of everything myself. When arguing with online commenters, I could handle a hundred trolls on my own. Later, the famous actor called me again:

"You reply to online commenters quickly, but why can't you see my messages?"

I sincerely replied:

"Sorry, I've outgrown you intellectually."

1. My relationship with Blaine, the movie star, ended as soon as it went public.

The tabloids made it sound so sweet:

"Blaine gently caressed Izabella's back as he helped her into the car. So romantic!"

In reality, Blaine was forcefully shoving me into the car.

"They said Izabella looked at Blaine with such pitiful eyes, her big eyes filled with admiration for the movie star."

In reality, I was crying because Blaine had made me so angry.

"Look at this picture, everyone! The movie star is saying something to Izabella. Could it be a confession?"

Me: "..."

Actually, in that photo, Blaine was yelling at me, telling me to get lost.

I couldn't stand it anymore.

The trending topic stayed at the top of social media for an entire day.

Seeing the nonsense from the tabloids and various gossip sites made me so angry that I didn't eat for a whole day.

But in truth, I was a complete doormat. A whole day passed, and I didn't dare to clarify anything.

However, while I was soft, Blaine was the complete opposite.

The next morning, just as the buzz was starting to die down, Blaine suddenly posted on Twitter:

Blaine: "Not familiar with Izabella. Stop clinging."

In an instant, social media seemed to explode.

My comment section and private messages were flooded with Blaine's fans attacking me.

"Seriously, girl, what do you mean by staying silent?"

"He's got the looks, the talent, and the fame. Hilarious."

"Blaine already said it, stop clinging. Never seen someone so shameless."

"..."

Seeing the abusive comments in the comment section and the filthy language in my private messages, I mustered up the courage to call Blaine.

It took five calls before he answered, sounding impatient:

"What do you want?"

My voice was choked with tears:

"Can you delete the tweet? We were together after all. Saying that, what am I supposed to do?"

Blaine was silent for a moment, then he let out a low chuckle, his voice deep:

"Crying?"

I felt utterly humiliated and helpless.

I was a complete coward and a hopeless romantic.

Facing Blaine, I always felt inferior.

He was a movie star, with far superior acting skills and commercial value compared to me.

Being with him was me reaching for the stars.

I sniffled, mustering all my courage.

This time, I had to be brave.

After a long pause, I tightly gripped my phone and slowly said:

"Please, I'm begging you, take it down."

Chapter 2

Blaine, of course, wasn't going to delete it.

Not only did he not delete it, but he also said, "I'm so tired of this pathetic attitude of yours."

At first, he found it quite amusing, but now it was increasingly annoying.

Actually, it's not just him; I find it annoying too.

I've been like this since I was a child. Because of my personality, I was often bullied in school for being timid.

After graduating from college, despite being untrained, I was discovered by a talent scout because of my looks and signed with a company.

At that time, I was very scared. I couldn't act, didn't understand contracts, and was clueless about social interactions.

But the talent scout told me:

"The entertainment industry, at its core, is just entertainment, you understand?"

"Who told you that you need to be a good actor? Your face is your greatest asset!"

"As for contracts, you don't need to worry about them. I'll arrange a manager and assistant for you."

And just like that, I entered the entertainment industry.

With the company's strong support, I quickly stood out.

Without acting in a single drama, I successfully gained twenty million fans by playing the role of a naive and clueless character on reality shows.

It was around that time that I met Blaine.

He didn't often appear on reality shows, but every drama he starred in had high ratings.

I was a fan of his too.

We started dating during the filming of The Capture of Truth, which had three episodes.

He liked my personality, thought I was very innocent, and it triggered his protective instincts.

I, on the other hand, liked his intelligence and seriousness.

In The Capture of Truth, each episode had a case to solve.

Blaine always accurately guessed the culprit.

When everyone else was too scared to open their eyes because of the creepy sound effects, he would hold my hand in a corner where the cameras couldn't see.

Then he would softly comfort me, "It's all fake, don't be scared."

At that time, having never been in a relationship, I was deeply captivated by his charm.

But less than three months later, he wanted to break up with me.

It turned out that when he said I was innocent and triggered his protective instincts, he just meant I was easy to control.

Once the novelty wore off, he dumped me without hesitation.

The night the paparazzi caught me, I shamelessly went to the restaurant where he was having dinner.

I begged him, "Please, don't break up with me."

He said, "What do you have besides your looks?"

"Such an obvious answer, everyone else could see it, but you couldn't."

"Izabella, everyone else is pretending to be dumb, but you're genuinely dumb."

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

My relationship with Blaine was my first ever romance. He made me realize that not only was I a coward, but I was also hopelessly in love.

Just the day after he hung up on me, I went to see him again.

This time, I bundled up tightly. In the middle of summer, I wore a hat, sunglasses, a mask, and even a scarf.

Blaine was filming, and I watched him from a distance. Only when he took a break did I send him a message:

"I'm at the set. Can you come out for a moment? I'm waiting at the alley entrance."

He glanced at his phone, then looked in my direction. Our eyes met, and his gaze was dark and unfathomable, carrying an intense allure. My heart skipped a beat involuntarily.

Even though I was bundled up tightly, he still recognized me. He seemed to sigh, then walked over to the director to say something before heading my way.

I quickly moved into the alley, and after a moment, Blaine's cold voice sounded behind me:

"Stop."

I halted and turned to look at him. He slowly furrowed his brows. "What are you doing here?"

I pushed up my sunglasses. "Can you post a clarification on Twitter? Your fans are tearing me apart."

"They're calling me an angelic bitch, two-faced. If this keeps up, it will affect my reputation. I..."

"Aren't you?"

Before I could finish, Blaine cut me off. His slightly icy voice left me stunned. His brows were tightly knit, and his long, cold eyes showed detachment and annoyance.

"We only dated for three months. Is this necessary? I'm filming, and you keep coming to find me. What do you want?"

"When we first got together, didn't you pretend to be pitiful?"

"Don't forget, I'm an award-winning actor. You've never studied acting, and your poor performance was obvious to me."

Listening to his merciless words, I felt my blood run cold, and my heart ached with every beat.

"How can you say that? We were together, after all. I just want you to clear things up. Is that so hard?"

Blaine's eyes turned cold, showing none of the warmth and patience he had when we were together. He looked at me like I was the enemy.

"What's there to clarify? My Twitter is managed by the studio. I can't be bothered to post."

"You should leave. If someone takes a picture, it'll be even harder to explain."

Before I could respond, another voice suddenly called out from behind him:

"Blaine, the director wants you back for the scene!"

Hearing this voice, I shivered and quickly looked over Blaine's shoulder. Seeing who it was, I froze.

The girl's face turned pale when she saw me, and she didn't say another word.

It was my personal assistant, Melody, who had taken leave.
