Author: : A_T Alkei
Genre: Werewolf
"Are you sure you want to let a mere bodyguard have the upper hand?" "Surely there's more than that," Rosaline moved closer to her guard and whispered, "Isn't there?" "Indeed, much more." That was the last whisper from 'him' before her pleasing existence shattered in one fateful night as she lost everything and fell into the clutches of the 'Phantom Reaper'. "The fatal beauty that anyone ever dared to touch, is now the submissive hostage with neither any power nor lineage left. A mere human with a name only." His venomous whisper rang in her ear. A smirk played on Rosaline's lips as she shook her head to remind her captor, "A wounded leopard in a cage still possesses its claws, don't they?" Her ruthlessness provoked the enemy even further as he went down on her claiming every part of her, giving her no chance to defy. To survive that hell and to escape from 'Him', she gained the alliance of a Sigma wolf, not knowing she was getting into another endless pit with no escape.

Chapter 1 Unwanted Presence

Beneath the dim light of the moon, two omega's sat, enjoying the cool air of the serene surroundings. Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a fierce growl, and a group of wolves burst out of the

shadows, their eyes glowing with hunger and aggression. They circled the two omega sisters, their teeth bared and their claws unsheathed.

They tore into their body, ripping them apart piece by piece until they were nothing but a lifeless heap on the ground, getting devoured by the wolves.

The group fell silent as the air crackled with tension when their leader -the Alpha stepped into the clearing with a deep, rumbling growl. His immense presence filled the space, his powerful flame bulged beneath his black fur and his eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity as he commanded them to return.

It was the fearsome clan of the Phantom Reaper, known for their relentless hunt of anything that stood in their way.

"So, why did you want to meet?"

Rosaline questioned the man sitting across her in her soft and melodic voice. Her posture was erect and commanding.

The man shifted nervously in his seat, his eyes darting around the room. "I'm sorry, but can we get back together again?" He said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Hah!" She exclaimed.

"Don't call me for ridiculous reasons." She stood up as that man mumbled, "Don't blame me for what happens next."

Rosaline walked out of the room with the sound of her boots clicking on the polished floor. She was used to dealing with men like him.

The ruthless spoiled one and only daughter of the Alpha Mafia boss, Rosaline Forte, a woman with deadly beauty and pride. Her shiny silver hair slid down her back in waves, and her hazel eyes were enchanting.

No human or werewolf could resist Rosaline's deadly beauty. She had a way of capturing their attention with just a glance, and they would find themselves falling under her spell. But Rosaline was not a woman who could be easily satisfied. She had high standards and expected nothing but the best from those around her.

However, that didn't mean she was one with no enemies.

"Please ring all of these up and send them to XXX"

The cashier nodded as Rosaline walked out with a pair of sunglasses covering her eyes.

As she was about to get inside her car, a large hand blocked her vision. But before he could make a move, Rosaline lifted her foot and stomped down on his foot with all her force, grinding the heel of her boots into his toes. The man yelped in pain and stumbled backwards, his grip on her loosening.

"Another day, another fucker," Rosaline muttered to herself as she glanced around to see four more hooded people posing to pounce on her.

Rosaline fixed her posture, removing the sunglasses from her eyes as she smirked. "You have a death wish, don't you?" she asked, her voice cold and threatening.

Within a minute, she had pulled out a dagger with its cover on and jabbed the person's neck before her. Her red coat swirled in the air as she spun to land a kick on the second person standing on the left.

"Stop! Or I'll shoot!" The third one bluffed, pointing a gun at her shakily.

"You'll miss that way," Rosaline scoffed, spraying pepper on his face from the tip of the dagger.

Rosaline brushed back her hair strands from her face and sighed while glaring at the three people lying on the ground.

Abruptly, a sound of clap broke her attention as she turned around to see a man in black standing there, leaning against the pole. His deep blue eyes were as captivating as he walked closer to her, flashing a smirk on his lips.

"I thought the lady needed help but," he halted in front of Rosaline and glanced at those groaning men, "Seems like I was wrong."

His neat suit and earpieces gave off his identity- one of her Alpha father's bodyguards. But she couldn't recall someone with that cocky personality.

"And you are? " She asked.

"It's Shaan, Princess. It hurts to know that you couldn't remember me though I've been your father's guard for 3 years."

"Get them!" Benjamin-another one of her father's people, yelled, and he and his team moved in to capture the other two attackers.

"Mam! Are you okay?" a bodyguard in his 30s asked her, his gaze full of concern.

"Isn't that obvious?" Rosaline replied coldly as she looked back to see Shaan gone.

"Ah, he's gone..." She mumbled as she stepped towards one of the hooded people and grabbed him by the collar to remove the hood that covered his sceptical face.

"I'm not someone you should cross paths with," she warned, her voice filled with menace.

"Mam! Boss wants to talk to you,"

She tilted her head to look at the bodyguard, who was holding out the phone.

"I'll talk to Father when I get home."

She turned around, heading towards her car, "Don't you dare follow me." she warned, her tone leaving no room for argument.

"But Mam!" The bodyguard protested, but Rosaline already drove off with her Rolls-Royce spraying sand into the air. The bodyguards stumbled back, shielding their faces from the flying debris.

Rosaline smirked to herself as she drove off, her silver hair whipping in the wind.

Two massive stone lions guarding the front entrance with their jaws open wide in a silent roar that seemed to warn intruders to stay away.

As soon as Rosaline stepped inside the mansion's grand hall, she was greeted by a sweeping staircase that led up to the upper levels of the house.

"You're finally home,"

A man spoke from the shadows in his cold, low voice.

Rosaline halted as she rolled her eyes to look behind,

"Can't you make a normal appearance, Dad?"

Maverik Forte, Rosaline's father stepped in the light revealing his rugged, masculine charm in black-grey hair, with a commanding presence and an air of authority that demanded respect.

"You were in trouble again today?" His cold gaze swapped into a gentle and concerning gaze.

"It's nothing, Dad. You lost to me in sparring, don't forget."

Rosaline winked with a smirk on her lips as she sat down on the sofa, breathing in the air.

He walked over to the sofa and sat down next to Rosaline, his presence filling the room.

Maverick put his arm around Rosaline's shoulders, pulling her close.

"You know I worry about you, Rose," he said, his voice softening. "You're the most important thing in the world to me."

She squinted her eyes and glanced at her father knowing where that was going.

"Step inside," He ordered in a commanding voice.

As the door opened, Shaan with two other tall and strikingly handsome men walked into the room.

"You...?" Rosaline was surprised to see him there as he pretended not to hear her.

Rosaline was stunned to see such perfectly featured men. However, her expression was cold and unfazed as she felt the three of their stares locked on her as if she was a target.

Something didn't sit right with their vibe. Even though she knew her father wasn't someone to act on impulse and keep some people if they weren't trustworthy. But She had a hunch that something was about to shake up her ordinary life.

Chapter 2 An Unfair Contest

Rosaline, a lady with an uncanny ability to read people's expressions and their hidden motives like an open book since she lived a fierce life, daily training herself through onsets.

But as she scanned those three men standing in front of her, she couldn't figure out what they were thinking. Even though she had watched them countless times before, working under her Alpha father. But she had never spared another glance for them until now.

"Dad, what is this?" she asked, her eyes flickering between the three men and her father.

"They'll be your personal bodyguards from now on," he replied calmly.

Rosaline rolled her eyes with a scoff and stood up to leave, but Maverick held her hand gently.

"Dear, listen," he said.

Rosaline looked at him sceptically but remained silent.

"I'm doing this to protect you. The Phantom Reaper is out there," Maverick continued.

Rosaline crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice.

"Dad, are you underestimating me? That I'm a fragile girl who needs babysitting?"

"I know my girl is strong, but the 'Phantom Reaper' isn't someone to be taken lightly," her father replied, standing up and placing his hands on her shoulders.

Rosaline frowned and fell deep in thought. She knew her father meant well, but she didn't want to be looked down on.

"Fine! I'll accept them," her gaze switched on them,

"If they can win in a spar with me," she said, her eyes glinting with challenge.

Shaan locked his blue eyes with Rosaline and flashed a smirk on his lips.

"We accept your challenge," he stepped forward, "Ms Rosaline."

A small smile tugged at the corner of Rosaline's lips, feeling a thrill of excitement. She was always up for a good fight,

"Don't beg for mercy."

She swiftly walked away after whispering those words.

Rosaline stood in the centre of the training room in her black outfit that hugged her curves perfectly. Her silver hair was pulled back, leaving her sharp features and flawless skin on display. Shaan's eyes checked out every part of it from afar, hiding the coy smile of his face beneath his fingers.

"So, you are telling us to attack you in a group?"

Ryder raised his brows, revealing his light green eyes that looked at Rosaline with concern.

"Did I say otherwise?" She said coldly.

He shrugged at her words, his face surprised in amusement, seeing her boldness.

"You know the rules. You'll be eliminated if the color comes in touch with your body or clothes," said the guard, his voice stern and commanding.

He was wearing a black suit and glasses, standing stiff as he watched over the contest as a referee.

"Now begin!"

With the signal they launched at her in group as ordered, their muscles rippling under their shirts.

However, Rosaline was faster than they anticipated. She ducked easily, avoiding their attacks due to her height. She made her way behind Ace, and her eyes met with his grey eyes when he looked back, but it was futile since she already shot him with the color inserted in her gun.

Even in the middle of the fight, she could see the smirk on Shaan's face as his blue eyes followed her every movement with calm composure. She felt irritated and aimed at him, but Shaan grabbed Ryder and put him before her to block the shot.

"C'mon, man!" Ryder complained as he walked away from the ground.

The training ground went silent as Rosaline and Shaan faced each other, getting ready to attack. Shaan threw his gun away, squashing the color ball in his hand and Rosaline approached him to finish him off in one hit.

However, something made her trip in a blink of an eye, and Shaan moved closer to her faster than the wind, grabbing her by the waist as she lost her balance.

"Hey-"

His face was inches away from Rosaline as he smudged the colour red on her lips with his thumb and leaned in to whisper,

"I win, Princess."

Rosaline froze in his arms, staring at his deep blue eyes. "Are you really a Beta?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Shaan smirked, "I hear that a lot," he said, his voice low and husky.

She tried to move away, but he held her waist firmly, his grip strong and unyielding.

"Fine! You win. Now, do something about that grip of yours,"

Rosaline glared at him, hissing with a threatening tone.

"Sure," Shaan chuckled, his breath warm against her skin. "Then we'll be with you from now on," he said, before releasing her and walking away, leaving Rosaline standing there, her heart racing from frustration.

Maverick, who had been watching the fight in silence, came down to have a talk with them. His expression was serious as he approached them.

"You lost on purpose, didn't you?" His gaze locked on Ace.

After all those times, that was the first time Ace smirked, flashing the dimple on his left cheek. "Was I being obvious?"

Maverick stared at him in silence, his eyes narrowing.

"Don't get me wrong. Her speed is nothing to underestimate. That did catch me off guard, but I didn't avoid it."

"I could've done something, but this damn Shaan used me as bait." Ryder scowled, his fists clenched.

The two of them glanced at Shaan, who stood there with an unfazed cold expression.

"You three are incredibly strong despite being Betas." Maverick sighed as he stood up and turned around to glance outside.

"Then I'll entrust my only daughter to you. Please take care of her."

"You can count on us, Alpha," Shaan said, his voice low and steady.

Maverick turned around, his eyes narrowed as his expression grew grim,

"And dig out more info on 'Phantom Reaper'. How dare he set foot in my territory."

Chapter 3 A Riddle

Rosaline awakened from a stressful sleep, the first rays of sunlight filtering through her window.

She stretched, her silver hair falling in soft waves around her face. She rubbed her eyes and blinked, her gaze shifting towards the mirror.

In the soft light of dawn, her hazel eyes shone like gold. Her silver hair was tousled from sleep, but it only added to her beauty, making her look wild and untamed just as she was.

After slipping into her usual training wear, she plotted to escape the three glue-packs waiting outside her door. With one last glance in the mirror, she slipped out of her room through the window, and successfully made her way down the courtyard without anyone's notice- was what she thought until she heard a voice creeping behind her,

"Where are you going?"

She flinched back to see Ace looking down at her.

"Agh great!" She mumbled to herself with irritation tingling in her voice.

"She's over here!"

Hearing Ace's voice Ryder and Shaan stepped near Rosaline.

"That was sneaky. I remember you said you'll let us guide you if we won." Ryder said.

Without saying any words, Rosaline started walking out as they followed her. She didn't feel the need to argue more with them. Well, not until she was about to step inside a bar filled with dangerous people.

"I don't think this is a better place for you, princess."

"I don't think dad pays you for your opinion. So keep that mouth shut or leave."

"Sure, Princess." Shaan shrugged and followed her, observing her every move. All the people around seemed to feast their eyes as Rosalina walked amidst them towards her group. However she ordered them to keep their distance and they did so, seeing her in the middle of girls.

"I need to hunt down this Phantom Reaper." She confessed and the girls gasped at her words.

"What are you saying? They're the most lethal clan and didn't you hear what they do?" Liza whispered and explained what she knew about the Phantom Reaper.

Apparently, no one was aware of his face or his whereabouts. He already had a sinister reputation as a powerful Alpha who devoured Omegas, humans, Beta or whatever came his way. Now he entered Maverick's territory recently and two Omega's were hunted down.

Just as she was in deep concentration, one of the girls screamed out and she whipped her face to see a middle aged man grabbing her chest in front of everyone. Before she could think, her hands took action, taking on the blue martini glass and smashing on his hand. The broken glasses pierced through his flesh, making him yelp in pain.

"Hope you can never use those hands again, motherfucker!" She hissed.

Shaan and the others rushed over and sighed at the sight. He had expected that scenery but not that soon.

"Shall we leave now, Princess?" He offered his hand but Rosaline simply nodded and walked past his hand. He watched her walk out and cracked his neck, squatting down to whisper in that man's ear,

"You're lucky these hands didn't touch her."

With that he walked away from that place, catching up to Ace and Ryder.

Rosaline strode down the dimly lit street, feeling annoyed while thinking about the Phantom Reaper. She sighed, her breath forming puffs of mist in the chilly night air. This was supposed to be her one night of freedom, yet here they were again, hovering like vultures waiting for their next meal.

"Must you walk so close? I can barely breathe without inhaling your cologne," she snapped.

Shaan's raspy chuckle grated on her nerves. "Don't be like that, princess. We're just doing our jobs."

"And must you call me that ridiculous nickname?"

"I'll call you whatever I like," he said dismissively. Rosaline's hands clenched into fists, her knuckles turning white.

Up ahead, a group of drunk youths loitered outside a bar, catcalling as she walked past. One grabbed her arm as she strode by, reeking of alcohol.

"Hands off!" she demanded and prepared her fists to land a punch.

But before that, Ryder grasped the man's wrist, bending it back to force him to release Rosaline.

"The lady said get your hands off," he growled, shoving the man away. The group scrambled off, tripping over themselves.

Rosaline blinked up at Ryder as her annoyance deepened, "You didn't need to guard me in a needless situation."

"Really now?" scepticism dripped from Ryder's deep voice. "I saved the man, not you."

Over the course of the winding road through the city, she began to realise she was drawing closer to the seedier parts of town. She strode resolutely onward, showing no fear and finally halted.

Rosaline turned around to face them and calmly uttered,

"I'm going to meet a friend and I have private business here. So leave and don't follow me anymore for the night."

"That makes more reasons for us to stay." Ace objected as he scanned the area.

Rosaline greeted her teeth as she exclaimed, her voice flashing with anger, "I fucking said to leave! I have privacy! Do my words sound like a joke to you? You lowborn Shit!"

The three of them stood there frozen as they stole glances at each other, keeping silent.

Rosaline expected them to get angry, but Shaan just shrugged, his expression unchanged. "Suit yourself," he said, before walking away.

Rosaline blinked in surprise as Ryder and Ace followed Shaan without another word. For a moment, she almost felt disappointed at their easy acquiescence. But she shook it off, turning to head into the alley where her friend was waiting.

However, she was unable to find the correct location. She searched for the sign as she turned a corner and bumped into a tall man.

"Ahh..Sorry," She stumbled back and watched as a card fell from his pocket.

As she picked up the card, she saw the name "President Matthew" and couldn't help but wonder why a president would be in such a place. When she looked up, her eyes met with those pair of blazing red eyes that seemed to pierce through her. Suddenly, she felt a crushing sensation in her chest that made it difficult to breathe.

"Are you okay, little lady?" The man spoke in a deep voice as he reached out to steady her. She stumbled slightly, feeling weak in the knees.

The man's immense presence and the intensity of his gaze made Rosaline feel both intimidated and intrigued. She couldn't help but feel like escaping as she struggled to catch her breath.

She was confused why she felt that way, meeting that stranger but she was in a hurry to think about that.

"Thank you. I'm fine." She fixed her posture and asked, handing a notelet, "Can you tell me which side is this?"

Eventually, with his help, she reached her destination and made her way through the crowded room, scanning the faces of those around her until she spotted her friend. Erica, a Beta woman with short hair and a tattooed arm, and they embraced. They exchanged a few words, and then Rosaline got down to business, erasing that man temporarily from her mind.

"Did you find what I asked for?"

Erica gave a nod and handed her a document,

"Seems like your mom had a connection with the 'Phantom Reaper'.

"Mother..?"

Erica looked at her with confusion before glancing at the document. Rosaline's heart raced as she read the document,

"Are you saying my mom didn't have a normal death but was murdered?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she looked at her with her widened eyes. Her mind reeled as she tried to process the unexpected information.
