Adrianna hummed softly to herself as she brushed her long, dark hair, a smile illuminating her face. The reflection in the mirror revealed a dark, ugly scar that marred her face, extending from her nose to her lips. Despite this, her smile remained radiant, her cheeks blushing like a ripe tomato as she reminisced about the passionate kiss she shared with her boyfriend, Gray, just moments before he hurriedly left her house, claiming to attend to something important.
Adrianna cleared her throat, pinching her right cheek and pouting playfully at her reflection. "Anna! What's gotten into you? Get a grip!" she scolded herself, dropping the brush onto her makeup table.
But then, she remembered that Gray hadn't eaten since the night before. Exhaustion and hunger surely plagued him now. "Oh, Adrianna, why are you so thoughtless? You claim to love him, yet you can't even take care of him," she chastised herself, slapping her face with her palms and sporting a small pout.
Sitting down on her chair, she placed her fingers under her jaw, lost in thought as she pondered on what to do. She couldn't help but worry for Gray. She knew him well enough to understand that he disliked surprise visits. In fact, they had previously argued about this matter. The woman next door, who overheard their argument, speculated that Gray might be cheating on Adrianna, hence his aversion to her unexpected visits.
Adrianna couldn't bring herself to believe it. She knew Gray would never betray her, regardless of the circumstances. He had even professed his love for her when she believed herself to be ugly. Her appearance was so repulsive that it could make an eye socket pop out or fall off, yet he still loved her.
After mulling it over for a few minutes, Adrianna decided to visit Gray with some food. Perhaps seeing his favorite delicacy, lovingly prepared by her, would soften his heart and make him forget their disagreement. She knew Gray to be a kind and gentle person, not only towards her but to others as well.
With a half-smile plastered on her face, she entered her small kitchen to prepare Gray's favorite meal.
*
Adrianna inhaled deeply, reveling in the delicious aroma that filled her nostrils and revived her senses. But no matter how much she yearned to partake in the meal, she had made it solely for Gray.
Humming her tune once again, she placed the food safely in a bag before making her way to the door with determined steps. After unlocking it, she stepped outside and closed the door behind her.
Adrianna bit her lower lip, placing her hand on her chest. Restlessness washed over her, her bones tingling with a sense of foreboding. Never before had she felt such unease, even in the face of people's disapproving gazes, as if she were a demon.
She took a deep breath, followed by a slow exhale, attempting to calm her racing heart. "You can do this, Adrianna. I believe in you," she muttered, bolstering her confidence.
Perhaps she was scared of how Gray would react when he saw her in his mansion today. Thankfully, his mansion was only a short eight-minute walk from her own. Approaching the massive dark gate, she tapped her knuckles against it, patiently waiting for John, the security guard, to open it for her.
Tapping her feet nervously on the floor, she felt a mixture of nervousness and something else she couldn't quite place-fear. The gate creaked open, snapping her out of her thoughts. She turned to face John, dressed in his blue security uniform, who greeted her with a smile before allowing her entry.
"Is your boss here?" Adrianna asked, taking in the beautiful and well-kept surroundings.
"Yes, he is, Miss Adrianna," John replied politely, and Adrianna gave a small bow before stepping into the mansion.

Adrianna ascended the elegant glass staircase leading to Gray's room. Standing before his door, she prepared to knock when something froze her in place. Her eyes widened in shock, her ears assaulted by loud, harsh moans echoing from within his room.
As she stood there, immobilized, the cacophony only grew louder. But what pierced her heart and sliced into her chest was the realization that the source of the moans was her beloved boyfriend, Gray. Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision like a fountain of despair.
Adrianna couldn't contain herself any longer. She burst into the room, shocking Gray and the woman he was intimate with, halting their activities. "No... No, please continue. Go on, f**k her. Why did you stop?" she said mockingly yet painfully, her hurt impossible to conceal. Clasping her hands together, she stared at them.
How could she have been so blind? It wasn't the fact that he slept with someone that pained her, but rather the realization that the woman he had been with was her stepsister. This was the same woman who had driven a wedge between Adrianna and her own mother, causing their separation.
"Adrianna?" Gray asked in shock as his eyes widened. Adrianna was here! How? Was he dreaming? Is this all a dream?
"Yes, unlucky bastard! I'm here, standing right before you! Shocked, right? Well, you don't need to be so shocked because I'll be leaving... as a matter of fact, I'm leaving right now!" Adrianna muttered with a forced smirk on her face as she turned to leave. But she paused and turned to look at them again.
"And please continue what you two were doing. If there's going to be a baby naming ceremony, invite me so that I can bless your happy union," Adrianna muttered, watching as Gray's once gentle eyes hardened before her.
"Yes, I cheated. So what? For the past seven months, I dated you despite how ugly you are. Who would love an ugly, chubby girl like you? What did you do? You showed not even an atom of gratitude. You didn't even let me touch you. And by the way, it's not like I would want to f**k that wide p*ssy of yours. What..." Gray's words got caught in his throat as the loud sound of Adrianna's palm connecting with his cheek echoed around the room. But that wasn't enough.
After her brutal hit, Gray tilted his head to the side in pain. But Adrianna didn't let him calm down from the first slap as she gave another resounding slap straight to his other cheek.
Adrianna was about to give him another slap, but he grabbed her arm, stopping her from achieving her purpose. She watched as his once gentle, loving, and soft eyes hardened before her. He glared dangerously and darkly at her, making the hairs on her body stand as she stared at him with a terrified expression.
"Who do you think you are, you damned b**ch? I think I've been playing with you. That's the reason you dared to raise your dirty hands to slap me?!" Gray yelled as he reached to grab her hair.
His fist tightly wrapped around her dark hair, dragging her towards the door while she struggled on the floor.
"Stay still, damned b**ch!" Gray yelled again, pulling her hair harder. Adrianna felt her scalp burn as she yelped, tears staining her cheeks.
"Who would love an ugly and chubby b**ch like you?!"
His harsh words felt like daggers being stabbed continuously into her chest.
When Gray was close enough to the door, he opened it and pushed her. Adrianna had expected him to leave her after that, but to her shock, he continued to drag her like a piece of rag until they reached the stairs.
Adrianna's eyes widened in horror as harsh reality slapped her hard across the face.
Before Adrianna could open her mouth to plead with him, he pushed her off the stairs like a dirty piece of paper being disposed of.
She felt her bones cracking, her whole body burning, as she fell and rolled down until she was on the bare floor.
Her eyes felt hazy and blurry, her mouth tasting the sourness of her own blood.
Before her eyes could blink closed, she stared at Gray's eyes filled with an evil glint. She swore to avenge what he did to her!
Not only him, but she would also make all the people who looked down on her pay a very big price!
Adrianna fluttered her eyelids open and let out a soft yelp as an indescribable pain formed in her head.
"Ouch," she said, wincing. As she looked around, harsh reality slapped her hard. Everything wasn't a dream.
Everything that had happened was reality.
A sob escaped her lips as she sat on her bed, despite the pain. At that moment, the pain didn't matter because what she went through just a few hours ago was more painful than this temporary pain.
She had been such a fool, thinking that Gray loved her. That was the reason why he forbade her from visiting him without notice. The woman next door had told her about it, but she ignored it. She chose to believe Gray.
Adrianna couldn't stop the tears, even with the headache and pain she felt. She hugged her knees and let the tears flow like a fountain.
After a few minutes of releasing the pain like a volcano eruption, she wiped her tears with her palm and stood up from the bed. She walked over to the mirror, her eyes red and puffy, her scar now bruised and uglier than ever. Unzipping her gown, she let it fall to the floor, revealing even more cuts and bruises on her body.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she grabbed her hoodie from the bed and put it on. No, staying in America, especially in this same home, would only bring back bad memories.
She turned and walked back to the bed, bending down to reach under it. Her hands emerged with a huge brown box, unopened until now.
These were her savings, accumulated over many years. She had never dared to open it or use it because she was waiting for the best time. And now, this was the best time she could think of.
She would leave, but when she returned, she would be stronger than ever. Her enemies would beg for mercy as she stepped on them with her heels!
~FIVE YEARS LATER~
As soon as the airplane touched down at the airport, the long white door of the jet swung open and the passengers began to disembark one after another.
Among the passengers, nine individuals dressed in black emerged from the plane, with the exception of one woman who stood out in a beautiful white gown that stopped just below her knees. She commanded attention as she stood in the center of her eight bodyguards, exiting the aircraft with an air of grace.
"Ma'am Adrianna, as per your request, the mansion has been prepared," one of the bodyguards whispered professionally with a slight bow.
Adrianna remained silent as she adjusted her shoulder-length dark tresses. Her flawless fair skin, sharp nose, rosy lips, and graceful figure made her a stunning sight that captivated the onlookers at the airport.
Adrianna's flawless appearance was truly enchanting.
"Very well," Adrianna muttered, her voice transformed over the course of five years into a melodious tone that could enthrall anyone.
"Miss Adrianna, I've recently discovered that your stepsister, Jenni, and Gray are set to marry tomorrow," Gideon, one of her guards, announced.
"Oh, is that so?" Adrianna muttered, a devilish smile curling onto her gorgeous face. "Then they will have no choice but to invite me to grant them my blessing on their special day," she thought inwardly, her smile slowly transforming into an evil smirk.
Suddenly, three sleek, upgraded white cars pulled up at the airport, attracting the attention of everyone around. The vehicles came to a stop a few meters away from Adrianna, and two more bodyguards stepped out, bowing to her and creating a path for her to enter one of the cars.
Once inside the car, Adrianna settled comfortably into her seat, enjoying the cool air wafting from the air conditioner. Her phone began to ring, and she picked it up, only to see the initials "EX-DAD" boldly displayed on the screen.
Adrianna chuckled darkly at the sight. She hadn't informed her dad, or rather, her ex-dad, about her return or her plans to confront Gray and their now-engaged stepsister, Jenni. She relished the thrill of surprising them all.
For the past five years, she had been ignoring her father's calls, yet she hadn't broken her SIM card. She found amusement in reading the occasional messages he sent.
As she thought about it, her phone beeped, displaying a new message at the top of the screen.
"ADRIANNA, YOU BITCH! WHERE HAVE YOU RUN OFF TO? ARE YOU TOO SCARED TO SHOW YOUR FACE TO GRAY OR ANY OF US BECAUSE HE LEFT YOU!"
Normally, the Adrianna of five years ago would have hung her head and cried. But not this time. She burst into a round of laughter, mocking the message.
No, that trashy message wouldn't affect her in the least. After all, she was the queen of kicking ass, and that's exactly what she planned to do to her foolish stepsister and Gray.
Adrianna pressed the power button on her phone, switching it off. She knew he wouldn't stop sending her messages that would only drain her battery.
"Please drive faster. I have some old enemies to visit," Adrianna muttered, leaning back in her seat as Gideon nodded and increased the speed.
***
The car screeched to a halt in front of a grand mansion, beloning to Gray. Through thorough investigation, Adrianna had discovered that her ex-dad, her mother, and Jenni had all moved into Gray's mansion.
It was the largest mansion Gray owned. As Adrianna stared at the building, memories flooded back of the first time she laid eyes on it, years ago. At that time, she had been astounded and awestruck by the colossal mansion. But now...
She could confidently say that her own mansion, which she deemed as the ugliest, surpassed this one in grandeur.
Adrianna, who had once been the best hacker in both countries and was known as V, began walking towards the security keypad. With her flawless slender fingers, she tapped each button while her other hand furiously tapped on her phone. Soon enough, she hacked into the security system, causing the gate to open before her.
"Stay back," Adrianna sternly instructed her men before approaching the mansion like the goddess she was. To add to the thrill, she put on a pair of dark sunglasses before reaching the door. However, just as she was about to hack the security system, the door clicked open...
There he was, Gray, her ex-boyfriend, standing face to face with her. She couldn't deny that he had changed a lot over the years. To her, he was becoming even more unattractive with each passing second, perhaps due to the profound hatred she held for him.
Gray's vision was slightly blurred after a long nap, but he blinked a few more times until his eyes focused. And when they did, they lit up with excitement!
The stunning woman standing before him was breathtakingly beautiful. It was as if the whole mansion had brightened a few shades the moment she appeared. Seeing her approach the entrance, Gray straightened his back and adjusted his luxury white shirt. Then, with confidence, he smiled and asked,
"Hi beautiful, may I have the pleasure of knowing your name?"
He resembled a male peacock displaying its magnificent feathers. Adrianna paused and looked at him coldly.
"Adrianna Valeria."
