Chapter 1 If wishes were horses...

Chapter one

If wishes were horses beggars would ride.

Alya and her parents set up early to Han International Bank to borrow the sum of eight hundred million dollars.

Han International Bank got its name after The Han River Bridge.

All documents were signed and the money was given to the Sid's family. Mr Sid is a renowned contractor in the whole town. He was given a contract that would turn his life around but the deal was he would use his money to do the work. After the work, he will be paid. This was a big opportunity for Sid's family as they would become one of the most influential people in the whole town.

Collecting the money from the bank manager, the Sid's family headed home.

On getting to the Han River bridge, a black Camry crossed its way and started firing into the thin air.

The unknown gunmen started firing. No other cars were either coming or going. This was strange as the Han River Bridge was one of the busiest roads in town.

Mr sid quickly winds up the car windows. Mrs sid locked the back door and his Alya under the car seat. A rifle was used to break the car window and the unknown gang leader pulled Mr Sid out of the car roughly. He pointed his rifle to Mr. Sid.

"Where is the money?" He demanded.

He was a heavily built young man, in his late thirties. He has a round face and a beard covered his jaw. He is bald and from his look one will know he is ready to do anything for money. He wore an orange shirt with a jeans. He tied a black bandana on his head. A drawing of a cobra was on the bandana.

"Th- there is no mo- money with me," Mr Sid said stuttering.

"Do you think we are here to play?" Another member of the gang thundered firing into the thin air. Mrs. Sid screamed and Alya whimpered.

"I understand bu- but there is no money with me," Mr. Sud said stuttering.

One of the gunmen opened the car's back door and pulled Mrs. Sid out of the car.

"I do not have much time to waste," the leader of the unknown gunmen said and shot Mr. Sid in his head.

Alya's heart pounded as she watched her father get shot. The car window was down, and she could hear the sound of the gunshot. She screamed and covered her ears but it was too late. Her father's body hit the ground, and she felt the wind rushing towards her. The world was spinning around her, and she felt like she was going to be sick. She could not move, could not talk, could not do anything but stare at the place where her father had been. Her father was dead and he is in the pool of his own blood.

Mrs. Sid was crying profusely. Her heart dropped and fear gripped her. Her body shook as she stared at her dead husband's body lying on the floor.

"He is not dead," she told herself but deep down her heart she knew he was gone. Gone forever.

One of the gunmen pulled Alya out and dragged her roughly to her mother. Alya wrapped her hand around her mother but she was pulled away from Tue warmth of her mother. A gun was pointed at Alya.

"Where is the money?" Another member of the armed gang asked. His gun pointed at Alya.

"Answer or your daughter will be killed?" The gang leader said.

Alya stared at her mother with tears on her face. Tears streaming down her face like a rain. Her body shook. Her hand tightened is gripped on her dress, her breath haggard.

She shook and head and said whimpering," Mother do not,"

"Please do not kill her," Mrs. Sid said tugging the feet of the gang leader. He hits her with the rifle he was holding.

The gang leader points his gun at Alya. His hand is on the trigger.

"Check the booth," Mrs sid shouted.

"Go check it," The gang leader said to the young boy among them. He is of seventeen age. The same age as Alya. The boy went to the car's front door and clicked on a button beside the car door. He headed back to the car booth, opened the car booth, and carried the bang to the black Camry car.

That moment, Alya noticed it was five men that carried out the operations including their driver and the gang leader. And all of them were wearing a black bandana with the drawings of cobras on their forehead except the young boy of about Alya's age whose cobra drawing was on his hand. Seventeen years old.

"Everything is set," the boy said to their leader. And at that moment his eyes and Alya's eyes met and held for the longest moments. He was surprised to see a young girl, so beautiful and richly dressed. For some reason, he wishes to save her but he cannot. Everything was just a wish. If wishes were horses beggars would ride.

"Am sorry," the gang leader said to Mrs. Sid and shot her.

Alya's heart skipped a beat.

"Why will he say he is sorry and still kill her?" Alya thought. Looking at the seventeen-year-old boy, anger and hatred filled her heart up. She became angrier at the way the boy was looking at her. She saw arrogance in him yet in his face, she found a tint of sorrow.

Tears trickled down her face like a dew dropping on the little plant. But this dew was a sad tears. She mustered all the strength and courage left with in her to face what was coming towards her next. She closed her eyes as she awaited the painful death approaching her slowly. The armed robber pointing a gun at her head uses the edge of the gun to hit her on her head.

All the gang members returned to the black Camry car they had brought except the young boy and the armed man hitting her. The armed man pointed his gun at Alya, his hand on the trigger, and was about to release it when the young boy talked.

"I will do it," the young boy said. Alya despite being in deep pain could hear arrogance in the boy's voice.

"Give it to him," the gang leader commanded, have been looking forward to this type of day."

The man gave the gun to the young boy. He collected the gun and pointed it at Alya. He pulled the trigger. The last thing Alya heard was the sound of the gun.

Chapter 2 Opportunity

Chapter two

Opportunity

Many years later

Alya sat on a chair in her office. Swirling from one position to another. Sarah, Alya's personal secretary and friend burst into the room.

"Ma'am, someone requests to see you. I told him we are not accepting orders but he will not listen to me," Sarah said, and before Alya could reply a young man in his early thirties entered the room.

He was a young handsome man. He was tall and lean. His dark hair was tousled, and his eyes were piercing blue. He had a charming smile, and his features were both striking and kind. He had the kind of look that made people turn their heads when they walked by, but there was something about him that was more than physical beauty. There was an aura of confidence and charisma that drew people in and made them want to be near him. His presence filled the room and his scent filled Alya and Sarah's nostrils.

From the moment he walked into the office, Alya's eyes were fixed on him. He looks familiar. Her brain clicked and she knew who he was. He is the popular Cade pecker. The eldest son of the Pecker family.

Pecker's family is one of the most influential Families in the whole town. Their picture is always on the town billboard and everyone in the town knows the Pecker family as they seem to be ruling the whole town. Pecker's family had been a prominent in the town for generations, and their influence was felt in every aspect of life. They were wealthy and powerful, but they also used their influence for good. They were generous with their time and money, and they were always working to make the town a better place. They respected and admired, and everyone knew that if you have the support of the family, you are set for life. But they also had their share of secrets and scandals, and there was always something simmering just below the surface.

"What can I do for you?" Alya asked Cade.

"My name is Cade Peckers. No need for further introduction as am sure you have heard of the Peckers family," Cade said a bit of arrogance in his voice.

"So what should I do with your name?" Alya asked looking at Cade in his eyes.

This is the first time someone has said that to him. His family is one of the most influential families In the whole town and by the mention of the name, every succumbed. Girls flock around him and he always has things according to his way and dictates because of his family but this lady seems not to care about his family.

He swept a good look over her. She sat on a chair, her long, dark hair framing her face. Her skin was smooth and unblemished, and her eyes were the color of the sea. She was graceful and poised, and yet there was a hint of vulnerability in her expression. She sat with the perfect posture, and her hands rested in her lap as if she were a queen on her throne. Cade could not help but feel a stirring of admiration, a desire to know more about this young lady.

He took a seat in front of her and said, "My name is Cade Pecker, and am in need of your service," Cade said. For the first time in his life, he became humble. He is always someone who stands tall and proud but some how in front of this unknown lady he felt humble.

"Am not sure what service I can offer to you. Am just a lowly person living in this country," Alya said starring at Cade. From the moment he had entered her office, she had known who he his, and to her, this was a perfect opportunity to make sure of Cade for her revenge purpose.

"He will not mind, will he?" She asked herself.

Ever since her parents were killed, she had vowed to take revenge on any person who knew about her parents' death. This she had been able to accomplish small out of it. She and been able to identify four of the killers and it remains the young boy among them. And for her to be able to identified the boy she needed the help of a very influential person in the town and Cade happened to arrive at the time.

"Do not say that," Cade said and continued, " I need you to help me design a particular cloth."

Alya smiled to herself. A perfect chance and a perfect opportunity to hook Cade and use his power for her Revenge.

"I do not think that will be possible," Alya replied.

"Why? No, please, I need this design," Cade pleaded. The very first time he had done something like that.

Alya saw desperation in his eyes. She knew he would go to any length to get what he wants so will she.

"As you know we have closed the accounts for this year and getting this design is hard," Alya replied looking into his eyes. She tried to make her words look hopeless as much as possible and she smiled to herself as she realized he was falling into her trap. She will make him think she is helping him.

Sadness clouds his face as he hears Alya's words. His shoulder had fallen, and his elbow rested on the table.

"Can you not do anything? I mean you are the CEO of this company and you are among one of the best fashion designers in the town. My friend has been anticipating for this dress?" Cade asked.

"I would have loved to help you but you gave me no choice. The material is one of the scarce materials in the town and the time frame for me to make this cloth is short," Alya replied.

Cade released a sigh.

"But... I will accept the order since you are Cade and seeing the way you are downcast hurt me to my deepest bone," Alya said with a smile. A smile appeared on Cade too.

Deep down, Alya knew Cade had become her puppet and she would use his power to find the last killer of her parents.

Chapter 3 The hard task at hand

Chapter three

The hard task at hand

"We are accepting the order," Alya said to Sarah as Sarah entered Alya's office.

"What!" Sarah exclaimed.

"I said are accepting the order," Alya said again.

"Of course, I heard you the first time. I am just confused," Sarah said.

"Confused. Why? How?" Alya asked.

"We are closed for the year. So it's unusual for you to accept any more orders. This is unlike you Alya," Sarah replied.

" There is always a first time isn't it?" Alya asked.

"Of course but still it's unlike you," Sarah said.

"Well then, I guess it's not all of me you knew then," Alya said.

"Wait, hope it's not what am thinking?" Sarah asked.

"When do I turn to a mind reader? How am I supposed to know what you are thinking?" Alya asked swiveling on her chair.

Sarah took a step forward, her hand resting on the table in front of Alya. Her eyes stared at Alya's intensely.

"Are you still on your revenge mission?" Sarah asked.

"Am I supposed to give up on it?" Alya asked.

"So you are planning on using Cade Pecker's. That outrageous," Sarah said bewildered.

"Stop making it sound like it's all bad. Am not using him. Am just borrowing his family name to seek justice. And if that is outrageous, killing my parents is now what?" Alya said, her voice raising at every word.

"I understand Alya but using Cade for your revenge is not a very good idea. Yes, I know. His family is one of the most influential families in the town..."

"Of course, that is the main reason. His family is the most influential family in the town and he came at the right time. Am just borrowing his family name and power for a while," Alya said cutting Sarah short in her words.

"Alya, it's OK. But can you not give up on this? These armed robbers have been arrested and most of them have rotted in our jail. Can you not give up now?" Sarah asked.

"Not all," Alya replied.

"Of course, you kept saying that..." Sarah could not finish her sentence as Alya stood up from her seat. Alya's eyeball fixed on Sarah's eyes. At once she understood what Alya meant and she shut up.

"Go look for the company that has the material we are looking for," Alya said to Sarah. Sarah left Alya's office without saying a dime.

Alya watched as Sarah left her office.

The armed robbers who killed her parents were found but not all. Alya could remember clearly they were five and not the four that were arrested by the cops. She had told the police they were five and not four but her words were shoved away and the case was closed.

After some time she realized that the police intentionally closed the case as influential people were backing the robbers. And the only way for her to find the last one is for her to become influential. This she had tried doing and that was the main reason she has become the best fashion designer but that was not enough. At the same time, Cade happened to arrive.

Alya was so lost in her thoughts that she did not realize the moment Sarah entered the room.

"Ma'am" Sarah called.

" What is the matter?" Alya asked.

"I tried placing an order for the amount of material we needed from Exquisite Material company but unfortunately they can not be of help to us," Sarah said.

Accepting the order was the simplest thing Alya had to do. With her yes the order has been accepted but the task after it was a nut job. But she had to for her to look for the last armed robber. She had not envisioned the work to be easier when she accepted it.

"What about Dammy fashion hub?" Alya asked.

"Of course, they were the first person I contacted but unfortunately too, they did not have the exact material," Sarah replied.

"When sisthey say the material will be ready?" Alya asked.

"In a week or more," Sarah replied.

Alya looked at Sarah and smiled to herself. She picked up her car keys and headed to the garage.

"I will not be late," She said to Sarah.

Reaching the car garage, she opened her car door and drove to Dammy fashion hub store.

Alya parked her car directly opposite the Dammy fashion hub store. She got down from her black Venza car and crossed over to the Dammy fashion hub store. She wore a long flower pattern red gown with a gold glass heel. Her hair was flowing backward due to the gentle breeze blowing and a hat was in her head. She put on her sun speck and walked into Dammy fashion hub store. She met Tue owner's secretary and the personal assistant led her to the owner's office.

"Hey Dammy, it's been a long time isn't it?" Alya asked making herself comfortable on the chair while Dammy's personal assistant went over to the coffee machine to make some coffee. After a while, she returned with two cups of coffee. Each she put in front of Alya and Dammy.

"Of course, it's been a long time. And am sure you are not here to while away your time, are you?" Dammy asked.

"That is the main reason I like you. You picked things up quickly. Actually am here for your help. There are these scarce materials that I need to get and am sure you are the only one who can help me. My secretary called over a few minutes ago but she got the reply that you are closed for the year. Please help me out," Alya pleaded.

Dammy heaved a sigh. "Alya you know I do not decline orders except it is out of my control," Dammy said.

"And am sure this is not out of your control. For old times' sake, help me out," Alya said.

"Alright," Dammy replied. " Of course, I have to help you out. Do not worry, the order will be delivered this evening."

"Alright. Thanks, dear. Am sure you will help me out," Alya said as she made her way out.

"Alya, why do you take this pressing order? Am sure you do not tale this time of order?" Dammy asked.

"There is always a first time for something," Alya Replied as she headed out of Dammy's office. The hard task had been solved.
