Chapter 1 THE REJECTION

ROSELINE'S POV

When I recovered consciousness, I found myself on the bed, my eyes staring at the white ceiling, my entire body sour, and Cassie beside me. As I laid there, recollections of the previous day's events flooded back. I remembered the uneasiness that had crept in after eating the cake Scarlett had offered me, and how I felt like puking.

It dawned on me that Scarlett might have poisoned the cake, driven by her clear dislike of my presence, especially around Logan. I remembered the time Logan visited me, and Scarlett lied about my absence, only to fall silent when I appeared. Her actions now seemed sinister, and I wondered what she was capable of.

As I continued to ponder Scarlett's intentions, I couldn't shake off the feeling that she was hiding something. Her actions appeared driven by a desire to keep Logan and I apart. She had always desired to be with Logan and was envious when he fell for me instead.

Cassie's worried voice pierced through my foggy thoughts. "Finally, you're awake."

I groaned, slowly regaining consciousness. As I struggled to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over me. My head spun like a merry-go-round, making it hard to focus. Gritting my teeth, I squinted at the wall clock, desperate for a clear view. The numbers blurred together, but eventually, they came into focus.

My eyes widened in horror. "What?!" I shrieked, my heart skipping a beat. "How long have I been out?" I demanded, fearing the worst.

My birthday, the day of my transformation, was supposed to be a public spectacle. Had I missed it? The thought sent a chill down my spine.

Cassie's soothing voice calmed me down. "Just take it easy, you've been asleep throughout the day." she advised, gently patting my back to comfort my throbbing headache.

I couldn't miss my transformation ceremony, the most important day of my life. The thought of facing my pack's disappointment at me missing the event, the shame was unbearable, knowing everyone was waiting for me.

I leapt out of bed, despite my pounding headache, and stumbled towards the window. Throwing it open, I gazed out at the moon, feeling a deep connection to its power. But something felt off.

I rushed to the gathering, anxious to join the ceremony. To my relief, I arrived just in time, it wasn't my turn yet.

As I took my place in line, my gaze swept across the crowd. My eyes met Logan's, and his warm smile filled me with encouragement.

Nearby, Mr. Tristan and Mrs. Linda stood together, accompanied by Scarlett, whose expression seemed guarded.

What's going on, it was my turn to transform into my werewolf form, but when I closed and opened my eyes everything still seemed the same way it was, it was already a full moon and it was exactly 12am.

I was supposed to have transformed into my wolf by now, and the mating ceremony with Alpha Logan was supposed to have started.

My heart began to race by the intimidating faces of the members of the pack, like I had just gone on a battle. My heart plummeted to my stomach, and I couldn't hear my heartbeat because it was thumping so fast out of fear.

"Roseline is without a wolf " I can hear the whispers in the crowd, "Oh, moon goddess, this can't be happening. I really didn't want to go back to that hell of a house", I cried.

As my eyes searched the crowd and there fell on Cassie, it was then the gravity of what was happening registered with me.

I recalled that my father was an alpha king, so I was supposed to be a beta female. It was already past midnight and everyone had transformed. I was the only one left behind.

I was meant to be the Luna of the pack, after these transformations.

"This can't be true, nooo, wait one more try" I said with my eyes closed focusing my mind on the lessons coach Felix had taught us, but nothing was working.

I could see the evil smile on Scarlett's face. It was then I realised, they were right, I was actually wolf less, the crowd began leaving and some were filled with discouragement, I fell to the ground as my whole life flashed before me, my eyes filled with tears.

"Hey, this is not the time to cry" I felt Cassie hand around me. "Cass, tell me it's a lie? Just tell me all this is a dream" I sober with tears all over my face."Tell me I can still become Alpha Logan's Luna right?" I yelled at Cassie.

The Blood Moon Pack had a long-standing custom that by the age of 20, every pack member was expected to have changed into their wolf form for the first time. Those who did not do so by 20 would be in limbo, known as "wolf-less," until they were 25. However, it was unusual for a pack member's wolf to appear at 25. Typically, only the strongest and most powerful wolves appeared at this age. The bulk of the Blood Moon Pack's wolves emerged on time, at the age of 20.

Cassie knelt forward giving me a tight hug of reassurance."I need to speak to Logan" I stood up only to see Scarlett standing close beside him,

"Logan, I know you will understand right? You can be patient with me right? Let's wait together so that I can finally become your Luna" I uttered with the sense of fear sounding in my tone.

"What?!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling with shock. "Wait another five years? I'm sorry, I just can't," Logan said, his voice icy and detached.

My heart was racing like a jackrabbit, pounding in my chest like I'd just sprinted a marathon. Logan's words felt like a physical blow, a sharp stab to the heart that left me breathless and reeling.

"I need a Luna and not just any Luna but a Luna who has her complete wolf, and I don't think you fit in that space" he said as his gaze lingered on me for a moment, before he turned away, his voice dripping with disdain. "Roseline, I reject you as my mate. You do not possess the qualities I seek in a Luna." The crowd gasped, and I felt a stinging sensation, as if I'd been slapped. Logan's voice continued, his words slicing through my heart. "By the power vested in me as Alpha, I hereby announce Scarlett Tristan as my new marked Luna."

The gathering grounds erupted into chaos, with the pack's members buzzing with excitement and shock. Logan's voice rose above the din, his words sealing my fate. "The Luna ceremony will take place in three days' time. Let the preparations begin!"

I felt like I'd been smashed into a million pieces, and my entire world was falling around me. My life had been a never-ending cycle of pain since I was a youngster, and I had hoped that being the Luna of the pack would help me escape it all. But now that dream has been ruthlessly dashed. Logan's rejection was terrible, but what made it much worse was that he had chosen my own sister, Scarlett, as his mate. The anguish of being replaced with my sister.

I stood there, paralyzed in disbelief, unable to move or absorb the emotional upheaval that was raging in my heart. I felt devastated, shattered into a thousand pieces, and my heart lay in shreds on the ground. The weight of my sadness was crushing me, and I didn't know how I'd ever pick up the pieces and move forward.

Chapter 2 MY FATED MATE

ROSELINE'S POV

I stood frozen, watching as Logan and Scarlett walked away, while Mr. Tristan and Linda beamed with excitement, like they'd won a prize. I felt like my world had come crashing down.

I was still in shock and couldn't say anything. Cassie gently took me to Cassius' house, where I sought the wise old sage's advice. Cassius was the council's oldest living member and was well-known for his healing talents. For two days, I lay in a room, unable to get over the horrible occurrence. Cassie attempted to rouse me with words of consolation, but her voice was a faraway drone. Cassius comforted her, "She's fine, just shocked."

But as Cassie urged me to return home, I whispered, "I don't want to go back to that house." Cassie's expression turned stern.

"Roseline, you can't stay here forever. You'll become a burden to Sir Cassius. I need to leave soon to care for Grandma. Please, get yourself together."

I whispered again "I want to remain here"

"Ok it's fine she can stay, I will watch over her till she recovers fully, just go get her dress to change up" Sir Cassius instructed Cassie who held my hand and reassured me that she will be right back.As I struggled to stand, Sir Cassius rose from his chair and sat beside me, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding.

"You, young one, possess a strength that belies your years," he said, gently taking my hand in his.

"You've faced countless trials and emerged resilient, a true testament to your character."

With a gentle smile, he began to speak, his words weaving a soothing balm around my battered heart.

As Alpha Logan's destined mate, you have been selected by the wise Moon Goddess for a higher purpose. Logan had no idea that his mother had placed a protection spell on him before her death.

Logan was cursed to be unable to impregnate anyone other than his true Luna, making him impotent with everyone else. It appears that you are the chosen one, destined to break the curse and bear Logan's offspring. However, the route ahead will be long and tough.

Cassius, the elderly sage, delivered those words, causing me to experience a chaotic range of emotions. On the one hand, I felt a wave of encouragement, knowing that I was meant for something more. On the other side, worry crept in, whispering questions and uncertainty about the next obstacles. The weight of the sage's words fell hard on me, leaving me to contemplate the riddles of my fate.

The following day, Cassie arrived with my clothes, and I swiftly got ready. As I prepared to depart, Cassie proposed an idea: "Consider visiting the council and sharing your story. They hold authority over the alpha." Her words struck a chord, filling me with resolve. Emboldened, I decided to confront the council, hoping to find justice on my side.

With determination guiding me, I approached the council chambers, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But as I arrived, I found the halls eerily empty. A sinking feeling crept over me. Could it be that everyone had gathered for Alpha Logan's mating ceremony with Scarlett, my own sister?

My heart dropped at the thought. Summoning all my strength, I sprinted towards the ceremony, my human form fueled by adrenaline and desperation. I didn't have my wolf's power, but my rigorous training kicked in, propelling me forward. I burst into the ceremony, ready to put a stop to the event. The scene before me was chaotic. Logan and Scarlett stood at the altar, surrounded by the pack. Logan's eyes locked onto mine, a mix of shock and confusion etched on his face.

I sprinted forward, my voice echoing through the hall. "Stop this! It can't happen!" But it was too late. The mating bond was sealed, and Logan's eyes had transformed, linked to Scarlett's.

In an attempt to break the bond, I shoved past the guards and pushed Scarlett to the ground. The audience gasped in terror at my startling performance. Logan's face hardened with hatred, and his eyes blazed with fury.

Scarlett was on the fall, sobbing out of pain for the impact to the ground.

"How dare you!" he exclaimed, his voice low and intimidating. The air was charged with tension as the pack's gaze concentrated on me, their expressions filled with amazement, revulsion, and rage.

Logan's face was full of rage, and devoid of emotions. He had never been one who smiled nor one who expressed emotion, but I had never seen his eyes this cold before. I began to shiver as Logan closed in toward me, fear ran down my spine.

"Take her out! you have been banished form this pack" he commanded with his Alpha voice,

A deafening silence fell over the gathering, as I struggled to comprehend the weight of his words.

Then, the guards seized me by the arms, lifting me off the ground. "Take her to the pack's border and ensure she never sets foot in this villa again."

My heart felt like it had been pierced by a sharp blade, the pain searing through me like a raging fire. Every beat of my heart felt like a fresh wave of torment, each pulse a painful reminder of the anguish that threatened to devour me.

Chapter 3 THE BANISHMENT

ROSELINE'S POV

"Let go of me, you fool." I struggled with men who, on average, I could overpower.

"No, Roseline!" Cassie wailed and ran towards me as they dragged me out, but she was stopped by Logan, voice. "Hey, come back or you'll join her; because of our previous connection, I wasn't meant to spare her life; she was fortunate, I only banished her.

"Let go of me, Logan you can't do this to me" I yelled angrily at the men who dropped me into a waiting van that was already prepared for the board that was between the blood moon villa and the evil woods.

I cried my eyes out like a baby who was been separated from it mother, I tried again to get out and run, but i was pushed back, realising I was trapped and couldn't get out i hurriedly rush to the window as i saw Cassie being held back by some of the Alpha's men.

My eyes were crimson, with tears flowing down them, and as we reached the pack's border, I began to breathe rapidly out of terror.

I was pulled out of the vehicle in the same manner they violently dragged me with contempt; just a few days before, they all showed me respect by bowing at the sight of me, but now watch how they treat me.

I was already getting cold, they didn't even let me pack my things before sending me away. They brought me here directly from the Alpha's house without any of my belongings to die in the woods.

As they drove off fresh tears came streaming down my face, at the sight of the lonely path,

I didn't have my wolf. How am I going to survive? I began strategies for survival, as I sat there alone by the lonely path, leading to the deep forest.

My heart skipped as I noticed someone approaching me, fear gripped me it wasn't even close to an hour of arriving here I was already getting attacked, as the figure approach I realised it was an old man's figure,"who are you, don't come anymore closer" I shouted trying to stand my guide.

"It was the old sage Cassius," a glimmer of hope appeared in my head. "Master Cassius, thank goodness it's you!" I shouted out in terror. "Take me back with you please, maybe you can talk to the alpha, I am not sure I can survive this, I didn't have my wolf, I can't" I looked miserable.

"Fate chose this part for you, I am very certain that you will come out strong." His remarks made me feel even worse.

"Have this, I figured out that you have a long journey ahead so I decided to pack you some luggage which your friend left at my place, here is also a map that leads to the human world, may the moon goddess guide and protect you" the bold sage words echoed in my head as he disappeared into the dark.

I really wish he could take me with him as he leaves but I don't want to cause anymore trouble. I have already accepted my fate, and I have concluded on going this part, but where do I start from, thanks to the old sage I had a map with me.

As I began navigating my paths, it was already getting dark. I tried not to think about how my life had devolved into a complete mess, from me not having my wolf to my mate rejecting me and choosing my sister as his luna, and now here I am in the deep forests with giant trees and wild animals.

It was very early in the morning, and I continued my journey, using the map as a guide; even though the forest was much larger than I expected, there was no place safe for a wolf, let alone me, as there had been numerous rumors in the pack of rogues leaving and killing people in the woods.

My body screamed for rest, my mind begged for respite, and my heart pleaded for mercy, as the woods stretched out before me, a seemingly endless, merciless expanse. Exhaustion took over me, and I was on the verge of collapse. Five terrible days of travel with no food, not even water. My energy was dwindling, and my body had reached a breaking point.

I slumped on the dry, rustling leaves, my chest heaving as I battled to breathe. My limbs felt like lead, and I couldn't move an inch. The world around me became blurry, and my eyes drooped, blinking slowly as darkness closed in.

Just as I was ready to give up, I felt the presence of others. Footsteps came, and I felt hands grab for me and lift me off the ground. My mind became jumbled, and I lost all feeling of control, sinking into the depths of oblivion.

"Was it all just a dream?" I wondered, my mind racing with disjointed recollections. "Please, let it be a dream." But the feelings were too real: rough hands, unknown voices, and the sense of being utterly at their mercy.

Panic came in as I attempted to recover control, but my body refused to respond. I was caught in a living nightmare, unable to move or flee. All I could do was lie there, powerless and defenseless, while these strangers did whatever they were doing to me.
