One Night With Blaze

He walked gracefully with such confidence as if he owned the pathwalk towards the entrance of the medical faculty main building, wearing the usual official school uniform but his distinct elegance is undeniably overflowing even in just an ordinary outfit that everyone in the faculty were all wearing.

Several eyes are also following his every move as if he is a very famous superstar everyone is fervently waiting for what he will do next. The subtle attention from everyone around as they diligently watched the every sway of his body as he walks, the moment his prominently long and thick lashes touches his pale skin when he blinks, the wind that gently blows his raven black hair and the every step he makes at the rough pavement captured everyone's earnest eyes.

His two hands are inside his pocket while he casually walks under the bright light of the day.

His pale and flawless skin seemed to glisten under the sun, making him look like an apparition with his ethereal beauty.

His handsome face is devoid of any expression... unreadable & very calm. Everyone seemed to gasp when he squinted from the bright light of the sun, making him wear his signature sunglasses and causing a swooning shriek from his silent admirers .

His clean cut black hair is perfectly styled which compliments his very neat and well ironed long sleeve shirt.

His silver watch sparkled like a gem around his wrist everytime it would be out from his pocket.

He walked like he owned the world... so unconcerned of the curious and admiring glances towards him.

No one had dared to approach him even if everyone in the university seemed to admire his perfection, even if everyone is eager to get close to him, even if every girl and even boys wanted to confess their admiration towards him, even just for a mere greetings, and even for the simplest reason of being friends with him.

It may all sound simple to greet him, to approach him, to have a casual talk, or to even just smile at him, but his cold gaze could make anyone forget their intention the moment he stares.

He actually has a very amicable personality and everyone could clearly see how charming and pleasant he could be to the people around him but his unspoken words and his obvious cold aura could make everyone think twice to randomly approach him and to even talk to him.

Even his classmates are cautious around him and his schoolmates seemed to fear him. He hasn't done anything violent towards anyone that could cause to fear him but they are simply anxious and cautious around him.

He simply doesn't have other friends aside from his two best friends and he seemed to not mind at all. He seemed to not care if his world would just revolve around his books, his busy class schedule, his school work, his hospital case studies, his very small circle of friends composed of only his two best friends, his parents, and his dorm to university point to point schedule.

He was the envy of all, an ace student, perfectly handsome, and an heir of a business tycoon whose insane richness is not only within the country but around the world.

"I will give my whole life just to have a meal with him" one of the girls whispered while they were all staring at that particular person.

"How could such a person be that perfect..." the other one frustratedly mumbled.

"I could even worship the ground that he had stepped on"

"He is beyond perfect, he is too precious...no one deserves him..."

"His skin is so clear white and very flawless like a very precious pearl...he is freaking perfect"

"He is a modern day prince, he won't even glance at anyone of us, we are just commoners" one girl spoke matter of factly before everyone heaved a sigh.

It's always been like that everyday at the university. Everyone would really take a glimpse at whom they called a prince.

Everyday, students would wait for his arrival at the school grounds and from where he parked his car until he could enter the building of his class, everyone would secretly watch him while daydreaming for the university's unreachable dream, everyone's prince charming.

"Good morning Blaze" Paul instantly greeted him the moment he entered the classroom while their other classmates became eerily quiet as they stole cautious glances at him.

He is Blaze Brieyden Vaughn, the so-called ice prince and an heir to his family's empire. He is known for his beauty and perfection but no one could ever get close without being bitten by the frost that surrounds him.

"Good morning Paul" Blaze greeted back with his usual calculated smile.

He didn't even spare a glance to his other classmates who hurriedly settled on their respective chairs after they spotted Beam entering the classroom.

"Good morning Blaze" Kit greeted when he entered right after Blaze.

"Good morning Kit" Blaze responded with the same calculated smile he gave to Paul before he took his seat.

Kit settled on his own seat while Blaze took out his book and notes to read which was followed by the rest of their classmates.

Everyone was at awe with the kind of diligence Blaze has with his studies, making them feel guilty just by simply looking at Blaze reading his book. An heir to an empire, diligently reading and continuously learning despite his very secured financial status.

There was never a time that Blaze was not reading a book especially during their vacant time. Most of the time he is glued with his books and notes while his other classmates would prefer to enjoy their free time without the thick medical books and the complicated medical cases.

Everyone detest studying while Blaze is enjoying every second of it. He has even read the entire book which is supposed to be intended for the whole term. He is the exact epitome of a very handsome bookworm and a modern day nerd.

His love for books and hunger for new learnings added to his already perfect image among his peers and university professors.

Being a professor to a class where Blaze belongs is also a great challenge. No professor would dare to come to Blaze's class unprepared, they will either read a few chapters ahead of their lesson and master it or not attend the class at all.

Blaze is so keen on details that even his professors are nervous around him. He would usually point out things nicely but Blaze's standard of 'nice' is definitely not nice for everyone's standard.

Everytime the class would end, their professor together with the rest of the class would subtly heave a sigh of relief.

"Our discussion today was very interesting, professor. It would be best if we will have an evaluation at the next meeting, maybe an oral examination or a written one" Beam casually said to their professor who gaped at him. Even all his classmates gape in disbelief,they all despised exams but Blaze is asking for it.

"That's a great suggestion Mr. Vaughn, let's see about that next meeting. Class study the whole chapters we had discussed today, as I might give an examination at the next meeting" the professor announced, making everyone groan their frustration silently, afraid that Blaze would hear them.

"Thank you professor, I'm looking forward to it" Blaze gladly exclaimed before he closed his book with a contented smile on his face. Their professor had left but no one from Blaze's classmates moved an inch.

"Let's have lunch?" Blaze casually asked without turning to his friends while fixing his bag.

"Yes...let's go" Paul responded casually before the three left the classroom leaving everyone behind who was still frustratedly slumping on their seats.

"An oral or written examination next week!" someone exclaimed frustratedly when the three had totally left.

"We also have a written examination before this subject which Blaze had also asked. We have two exams on the same day, the next meeting" another classmate exclaimed hopelessly.

"This will be a suicide, two major subjects in one day, composing of three to four chapters each" another girl tearfully exclaimed while she facepalmed herself.

"We still have another subject this afternoon, who would stop Blaze in asking another examination at the next meeting? We will all be dead if another exam will be added to this day" a frustrated tone muttered, making everyone gape before they all heaved a frustrated sigh.

Who is brave enough to stop Blaze Vaughn? His hunger for knowledge has affected all his classmates' who are not as eager as he is.

"Could you stop him later, Mr. Class President?" a girl asked their class president who just gaped at her before he looked around his classmates with his serious but calm expression.

"I'd rather step down from my position" the class president announced seriously, leaving the situation of their next subject, futile.

"Well, let's all eat our lunch so we could start studying the three subjects. We don't have that much time to cover all the chapters" someone exclaimed loudly after he stood up from his seat and walked towards the door, making everyone scramble on their feet to hurriedly follow.

After his long day at school, Blaze will be meeting his parents for dinner at one of the five star restaurants in the city and he has the haunch of what it is all about.

Blaze's brow furrowed when he saw his parents at one of the exclusive and private tables with another couple and a girl of his age.

"Blaze..." his mom smiled sweetly before Blaze bent down to kiss her cheek while he casually patted his father's shoulder.

"We have guests" Blaze said but did not turn to look at the three persons at the table who had ready smiles for him.

"This is the Mendez family, I have invited them to join us tonight so you could get to know their daughter, Lisa" Bella cheerfully explained but her eyes are cautiously staring at Blaze's unreadable face.

Blaze just stared at his mother with his one raised eyebrow but did not say anything. Everyone was waiting for his response but they got none, so silence ruled the table while Blaze just continued to stare at his parents, alternately.

The girl beside is trying her best to get Blaze's attention by smiling cutely at him but he remains unconcerned of what she is doing.

"I don't need new friends..." Blaze just spoke uninterestedly and dismissively before he picked up the menu book beside his plate.

His parents instantly became speechless and utterly embarrassed as they turned to the couple across them with their apologetic smiles.

"Hello Blaze...I'm Lisa Mendez..." the girl turned her whole body towards Blaze's side and sweetly started a conversation with him.

"I'll have a beef wagyu steak..." Blaze turned and talked to his mother instead of responding to the girl who never stopped smiling even if Blaze obviously ignored her.

Blaze scanned the wines section of the menu while still ignoring the overly excited girl beside him.

"I also dreamed of becoming a doctor, I think doctors are really awesome" the girl exclaimed sweetly which earned Blaze's attention.

Blaze paused and suddenly turned to the girl who was startled by the way Blaze was staring at her.

"So you are a medical student too?" Blaze asked intently with a slight interest.

The girl was taken aback that she did nothing but gape at Blaze who was earnestly staring at her while waiting for her to answer.

"Ahm...no I'm not... I'm..." the girl stuttered and suddenly stopped what she was saying when Blaze suddenly became uninterested and turned away to get back to the menu book.

"I'll have the usual wine..." Blaze turned to his mother and slowly placed the menu book beside his plate.

"Your son is very handsome Ara" the woman across from Blaze exclaimed with her overly familiar smile towards Blaze's mother.

"Thank you" Bella responded and smiled at the woman before she turned to Blaze who was just quietly sitting with his calm and unconcerned expression.

"You are so beautiful Lisa, isn't she Blaze?" Bella turned to ask her son who just stared back at her with his calm gaze, making Bella to just turn to the girl who has an effortless sweet smile towards her.

"You two look great together...a very handsome doctor for my beautiful Lisa. You simply compliment each other" the woman exclaimed happily.

"She might not be beautiful at all though..." everyone around the table turned to gape at Blaze when he suddenly spoke with his calm tone and unconvinced look.

"Blaze?" Bella subtly warned and glared at her son who just stared calmly at her while the three guests instantly tensed upon hearing what he said.

"She had undergone plastic surgery, she obviously did her eyes, nose and lips..." Blaze explained matters of factly with his usual calm and casual tone.

The girl turned to gape at her parents while looking so helpless.

Lander pinched the bridge of his nose while Bella continued to gape in embarrassment and disbelief because of what her son had shamelessly said.

The other couple become awkward and so quiet while being torn between their daughter and their thoughts of what would be their proper reaction to what the Vaughn heir has pointed out.

"Blaze apologize" Bella glared sharply at Blaze as she softly ordered with her gritted teeth, but he just stared at his mother before he turned to the girl beside him.

"Am I wrong?" Blaze just casually asked the girl who was already on the verge of tears because of embarrassment.

"No..." the girl whispered her response and a tear escaped from her one eye.

"Blaze..." Bella exasperatedly glared at Blaze who remained so composed despite the rising tension around the table.

"She said it herself, I'm not wrong" Blaze just casually replied to his mother's warning.

Bella prayed for patience as she closed her eyes tight and inhaled deeply to loosen the constriction in her chest with Blaze's shameless and unusual behavior.

"It's okay, he is right..." the girl whispered timidly before she smiled sadly and another tear fell from her eyes.

Blaze intently stared at the girl with his calm gaze while both of their parents were all tensed on their seats.

"If you will stop poking your eyes with your nails then maybe you won't tear up so much..." Blaze suddenly spoke with his soft tone when he figured out what was unusual with the girl who kept on poking her eyes to shed a tear. Despite Blaze's soft tone, everyone around the table heard what he said, making Bella and Lander abruptly turn to the girl with their earnest gazes.

The girl abruptly looked up to Blaze in total surprise when she was unexpectedly caught in the act while Blaze just stared at her with his expressionless face.

Bella gaped at the girl and intently stared at her with her suspicious look, while Lander straightened from his seat and looked at the couple across them who instantly looked away and avoided his eyes.

"I'm sorry if it offended you, pointing out your facial enhancement..I don't mean to be rude... But it's just too obvious not to be noticed..." Blaze apologized but not a hint of remorse was seen on his face.

"I know it's ungentleman of me but I'm just not a gentleman at all. Additionally, you are practicing your acting on me and what I hate most is to be fooled..." Blaze continued with his usual calm facade while the girl nervously gaped at him together with her parents.

"I want to eat in peace, so pardon me if I can't entertain you during this dinner. I prefer a quiet and relaxed ambiance while eating" Blaze added while staring at the three people across from him, subtly telling them that he doesn't want to engage in any conversation anymore.

If Blaze is indeed sincere and apologetic or just being sarcastic, no one could tell with the way he looked. Blaze simply looked calm and casual...unless you will look closer into his seeming calm eyes...it's too calm...almost cold and freezing.

"Blaze we will be the medical team for the Freshmen Initiation activity of the engineering faculty starting today" Kit informed, the instant Blaze gets inside the classroom.

Blaze just stared at Kit and slightly tilted his head without saying anything.

"Paul is already there, we will just catch up if you are ready" Kit continued while waiting for Blaze's response.

"Sure" Blaze casually responded with a shrug and with his usual raising of one brow before he turned around towards the door again.

Kit just quietly followed while Blaze just leisurely took a stroll towards the parking area.

"You can just hitch with me..." Blaze abruptly stopped on his tracks and turned around to Kit who was startled and almost stumbled against him.

"You sure?" Kit cautiously asked and tried to gauge Blaze's mood. Blaze seldom offers his car to anyone, even to him and Paul, he values his privacy so much that he doesn't want anyone inside his car.

"I offered" Blaze briefly responded with his stoic face.

"Okay" Kit just shrugged and rounded towards the passenger seat of Blaze's white suv.

They drove away towards the engineering faculty in a comfortable silence just like they would usually do during the very few times that they are together in one car.

"Do we have to deal with these sweaty bulls?" Blaze mumbled softly when they parked and watched the field full of sweaty engineering students doing their activities.

Kit just chuckled and shook his head in amusement seeing Blaze's disgusted look. It's seldom that Blaze would show such expression in the public and Kit would always be amused if Blaze would sometimes forget to be prim and proper and be human just like all of them.

Blaze is a neat freak and easily grossed out with messy things. He can't stand the foul smell and the smell of sweat on someone's body. A very unusual trait for a future doctor.

"There are face masks and gloves" Kit just exclaimed with clear amusement in his voice.

Blaze turned to Kit before he sarcastically rolled his eyeballs which made Kit more amused.

"You will be a future doctor...you will deal with more messy things... " Kit reminded again while he smiled sympathetically at Blaze who just heaved a sigh before they went out of the vehicle.

Some of the engineering students who had a glimpse of the two medical students paused and gaped openly.

Blaze walked as if he was seeing no one along the way while Kit tried to look around the field, looking for the medical tent.

"There's our medical team" Kit pointed at the tent beside the stage and walked ahead of Blaze who just leisurely took his time to walk towards where Kit had headed.

Blaze just unceremoniously went inside the tent to relieve himself of the hot sun that seemed to burn his very pale skin.

"It's so hot in here..." Blaze instantly whispered the moment he arrived at Paul's side who turned to Blaze and just heaved a sigh but did not say anything.

Blaze looked around the field and watched the on-going activities and his eyes caught a figure that made him stare a little longer than necessary. His eyes were intently focused on a certain student who seemed to lead the whole activity.

The guy is all sweaty and his exposed tan skin glistened under the bright sun. He also looked pissed that his face is so grim and his look is so dark. Very fierce and scary.

Blaze is unaware that he has been staring at the guy for a long time and that he flinched when his eyes suddenly met the piercing eyes of the guy he has been staring at.

The guy's hot gaze seemed to penetrate the sunglasses that Blaze was wearing that he could almost feel its burning effect even if it's just a fleeting moment before the guy turned away and continued with their activity.

Blaze continued to watch the guy with pure curiosity behind his expensive sunglasses, unconcerned of the people around him. The guy is all sweaty and a little burned under the hot sun but Blaze seemed to be entertained by the mere sight.

His sight seeing was just cut short when the medical team became quite busy when students started to faint and weakened because of the strenuous activities and from the heat of the sun.

Blaze would attend mostly to girls with his face mask and gloves. His sweat would also form on his forehead which made him very uncomfortable and pissed.

Blaze heaved a sigh of relief when the morning activity ended and students were dismissed for lunch.

"Do we have to continue this later?" Blaze turned to Paul and seriously asked.

"We are on duty for the whole week" Paul replied briefly which made Blaze groan in frustration while he wiped his sweaty face.

"Let's have lunch, I'm hungry" Kit exclaimed and the three went out of the tent leaving the other medical team.

Eyes are on the three who are all unconcerned of the curious and admiring stares on them but were interrupted when a group of engineering seniors approached them.

"Paul..." the leader called Paul's name as greetings.

"Ace..." Paul responded with a nod.

Blaze intently stared at the guy who called Paul, the same guy he watched earlier in the field.

"Thank you for your assistance" the guy, named Ace, seriously thanked while his piercing eyes were only directed to Paul.

"No problem, it's our responsibility, by the way these are my friends, Kit and Blaze" Paul introduced them to the other group which made Blaze raise his one brow again.

The guy turned to Kit and nodded before his eyes focused on Blaze whose intent gaze is met with another intent gaze.

Their eyes locked and no one wanted to back down from the staring battle, each one trying to intimidate the other.

The air around them suddenly tensed when Blaze just continued to stare at the engineering guy with his calm yet intent gaze while the engineering guy is also trying to intimidate Blaze but failing along the way.

Their respective groups are just quietly and anxiously watching the silent battle between the two intimidating figures.

Ace was the one to blink first but before he looked away he saw the very subtle smirk of Blaze, making him so triggered but cannot do anything about it. He cleared his throat before he stared at Blaze again whose expression hadn't changed at all while Blaze is still staring at him with the same calmness.

There is an unusual glint in the pale guy's eyes and Ace has no idea if it's only his imagination clouding his perception towards the peculiar look in Blaze's eyes or it is but Blaze's usual way to look at strangers. After a while, Ace was surprised when he was suddenly cut from Blaze's intense stare and he just saw coldness in those previously calm eyes.

Blaze continued to stare at Ace with his raised brow before he walked past all of them with his straight face and without a single word uttered to anyone.

Both groups unintentionally followed Blaze with their gaping and confused look, trying to discern what happened between the two.

"What happened?" one of Ace's friends asked him the moment he noticed Ace's confused look while his other friends together with Paul and Kit were also staring at him.

Ace clenched his jaw before he facepalmed himself when he realized that he didn't understand any of it either, he just felt peculiar and he didn't know how to explain it to everyone.

Ace turned to look at Paul who was also staring back at him with his calm expression. He wanted to ask something but he didn't know what words to say and Paul could clearly see it.

"We'll go ahead..." Paul said instead of responding to Ace's silent inquiry as he walked past the group with Kit following him.

The engineering students were left in silence while Ace continued to clench and grit his teeth because of something that he, himself cannot understand.

The ice prince deliberately haunted him and it awakened something deep within but he was suddenly cast aside, shutting him out of wherever the ice prince had brought him with just his mere gaze.

Ace unceremoniously stomped away opposite from the direction where the medical students went with all his confused friends followed behind in silence.

Ace's group was so confused of what happened between the two most intimidating persons in the university but whatever it was, it obviously affected their head hazer. They meaningfully looked at each other as they walked in silence, following Ace.
