A strong hand with visible veins gently stroked the thigh of a girl in a red dress sitting on his lap, his other hand touching her red, sensually toned lips.
The handsome man known as a symbol of masculinity among upper-class women was currently playing with a girl accompanying him tonight.
The girl's face was partially covered by a party mask, but he could see the beauty of her illuminated eyes, her blue eyes glistening like sapphires.
"Beautiful eyes," the man's lips unconsciously murmured, praising the beauty he had never seen before from any woman, despite traveling the world and seeing the same sapphire color.
"Thank you," the girl replied softly.
She tried to be polite and calm as much as possible... even though she felt pressured, being close to him felt like sensing an impending danger. Behind her mask, she knew that the man with the perfect face sculpture would not let her go once he knew who she really was.
The girl's hands were stiff as she resisted the warm touch of the man. She had never been in such close proximity before. Not even with the man she loved. She wanted to jump from his lap, but she realized she had to keep composed as she was working on a task.
The man's dark, heavy gaze focused on the alluring lips clung to his mind. The dark and intense aura dominated, captivating the girl into the sensations the man created.
As the darkness felt closer, the man's face neared her, causing the girl to clench his arm, her heart beating faster. She could sense the man's breath, the scent of wine mixed with his unique masculine fragrance.
"May I remove your mask?" he whispered right in front of the girl's face, his hand even raised to take off the object. Selena widened her eyes in surprise, then quickly shook her head.
**
A few moments before that,
"Sorry, isn't there any other job available? I'm willing to work at this bar and even do overtime every night, but give me a job that doesn't require me to do that," a girl with her hair tied back said to Madame Madeline, the woman she had just met in the bar that evening. The woman had just made her a job offer with an enticing but intimidating salary.
Selena Elisabeth Cartwright, a 21-year-old girl, came with a worn-out look and a pleading gaze. She urgently needed a hundred million to replace the pendant she had lost; the owner of the pendant accused her of theft when she was asked to bring a bag containing the newly purchased pendant. Unfortunately, when the owner-her cousin-opened the bag, the pendant was missing without a trace.
The accusing glare filled with curses from her sister was immediately directed at Selena, even though she had spoken honestly, nothing could make Claire's anger and hatred disappear. Since her father had taken in the unfortunate girl, Claire had deeply despised Selena.
Her self-worth seemed to plummet in Jonathan Thompson's eyes-Claire's father, the man who had raised her since she was 10 years old. He gazed with a hesitant sparkle, as if he couldn't believe that the innocent and kind girl he knew could do all this.
Therefore, Selena was determined to get the one hundred million worth of that pendant tonight as well. Even though she was not guilty, she wanted to show her sense of responsibility. And show Jonathan, so that his trust in her would return.
"Can you clean up?" Madame Madeline's voice broke the silence.
She continued to inspect the girl's appearance from head to toe, looking at the girl in a dingy t-shirt with a pungent smell of dust, as if her well-kept figure was hidden behind that t-shirt, to others, she did not look attractive at all.
Madame Madeline smirked thinly because anyone who wanted to work here must have an attractive appearance. According to Madame Madeline, Selena wasn't much more attractive than the bar cashier, who was worn-out and sexy. So what did Selena need to do to get that much money?
Selena looked at the woman's doubt towards her, then smiled sincerely, a smile that was so genuine, then nodded. In her heart, she cheered, 'yes, I can! I have to be able!'
Her determination was firm. Moreover, before coming here, she had just finished work somewhere else and hadn't had time to clean up. Then she hurriedly went to this place.
The corners of Madame Madeline's lips were drawn into a smile again. Selena's courage and determination earned her extra appreciation.
"I'll wait for you tonight at Dandelion Night Bar. You will be a waitress for one night," the woman whispered.
"There will be a new guest arriving in the city who will stop by here. Make sure you serve all his wishes well. You won't be doing it for him, but be friendly and polite because the young man is known to be cruel, merciless, and he won't hesitate to kill anyone who makes a mistake for him. He needs a woman to accompany him for the night. Seeing your polite demeanor, I believe you can do it."
"He will give you a hundred million after you successfully accompany him."
Selena was startled, her sapphire blue eyes widened. Working in this place was apparently not as easy as she had imagined. Was the man as ruthless as Madame Madeline described? She thought there were many young women far more beautiful and sexy than her in this place, so why did Madame Madeline ask her to serve the man? Did that mean there were no other women meeting Madame Madeline's criteria?
So, she had to risk her life to do this job. And she was not even sure if she could handle all of this.
If she made a mistake deemed fatal by the man, it would mean she would receive nothing in return, and even her own life would be threatened.
Selena took a deep breath, reciting a prayer and firming her resolve.
Remembering the cheers of ridicule and all the insults she had received in the past, her spirit was fueled. Although she was cared for by the Thompson family who were not ordinary people, she never relied on their kindness. Selena always tried to stand on her own, working all day as a waitress at the restaurant, and on weekends, she usually helped as a servant at the Davidson family's home. Her delicate hands were trained to hold a wide copper tray to host the Davidson family's esteemed guests.
So how ruthless was this guest? She had endured bitterness in her life since childhood.
Lost in thought for a while, Selena nodded again. "I am willing to be a waitress for one night for that guest."
"Good job!"
"You should feel lucky, Selena, because many women are clamoring to serve him. But I choose you because I don't believe they will act as professionally as you will. If they make the guest uncomfortable, it will only tarnish Dandelion Night Bar's reputation."
To be considered lucky? What made them proud to serve him? Was he a famous artist? A wealthy entrepreneur?
Ah, but it seemed all of that was true, or why else would they be eager to approach such a terrifying man?
Selena could only guess that the man was very demanding and everything had to be according to his wishes. But she didn't need to think further; what mattered now was that she could earn that much money and keep it from everyone.
"It's an honor to receive all of this from Madame," the girl said with a sweet smile.
Madame Madeline smiled even wider than before, her slender fingers with long, red-painted nails reaching for a glass of wine.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a man had just stepped out of his private jet. That evening, Mexico welcomed him with a dim light as the sky was almost dark. The lights around the airport shone like stars twinkling on earth.
A group of men dressed in all black greeted him as they escorted their Master into a car.
He had just returned to his homeland after several years of missions and work overseas.
Moreover, he returned upon hearing there would be a meeting at his family's home to discuss important matters.
Her father had asked her to come home, but she was reluctant to set foot in that house again. For it would only bring about anger and resentment every time she looked at the corners of the house-a childhood home that didn't feel like home.
"Do not inform my father that I have arrived yet!" Leonardo commanded his driver.
"Yes, Sir!"
The man beside him nodded obediently, as if knowing where they needed to go. The car immediately made its way down the highway without further questioning.
Leonardo was his name. He was born and raised in the wealthy Davidson family, although there was a well-known scandal that had become public consumption when his father returned with another son from a woman who was his mother's assistant.
A thin smile crept from his lips as he remembered the bleakness of his past, but after the car stopped in front of a bar, he forgot everything once again. Because tonight was a time for enjoyment.
Samuel opened the car door for him, as he wore his sunglasses.
He walked to the front of his entourage, entering the four-story building. Anyone who saw them was stunned, especially the leader who captured all the attention; the atmosphere of the place immediately felt different, quiet and eerie.
While the man's handsome appearance was the most compelling, the dark aura he exuded made everyone lower their heads again.
He headed straight to the reception desk, showing his membership card after making an online reservation the previous night.
"Show me where my room is tonight!"
"Alright, Sir. Please follow me, I will escort you to your room."
The young woman guided Leonardo to his VIP room.
**
That same evening, after getting her dress, Selena returned to the famous Dandelion Night Bar in the heart of the city.
She stared at the door with the sign "open" and entered, for the first time not as a visitor but directly as a 'one-night waitress' for a guest staying there.
'You have to be able to do this, Selena! Remember what you need to buy, there is trust you need to regain.' her spirit whispered within.
The long red evening gown she wore swayed as it split with her steps, the high-slit gown wrapping her long legs, exuding an air of elegance and luxury that had never been seen on her before.
Selena received this evening gown from her friend, as she had never owned one. There was a slight nervousness she felt, gripping her own dress. She was scared as she imagined her guest later, she was also afraid that her work would not meet his expectations.
But the fear unknowingly made her arrive in front of the VIP room corridor she needed to visit. The anxiety intensified as she heard music and chatter from the open rooms.
As she was about to continue her steps, she saw several women approaching from the other direction, entering the corridor. Her beautiful eyes widened.
"That's Claire! I must not let her see me," Selena hurriedly looked for a hiding place, to avoid being recognized by her sister.
Selena crept along the wall, observing the situation to make sure her sister had left.
"Thank goodness!"
She sighed in relief after the woman vanished from her sight, but now she felt anxious, worrying that there might be people who could recognize her seeing her there.
As she shook her head to dispel those terrifying thoughts from her mind, she turned and accidentally saw a mask from a past party lying on the table. Quickly, Selena picked it up and put it on her face.
Now her beautiful face was not fully visible, she breathed a sigh of relief, hoping that no one would recognize her with this disguise.
She continued her steps, her fingers intertwined to calm her nerves.
She opened the VIP door and saw a group of men sitting in a circle in front of a table facing the dance floor below.
As the room was high-class and only accessible to certain people, its facilities were top-notch. There was a bar table providing various drinks, a billiards table, as well as music entertainment led by a top-class DJ on the dance floor below. From the second floor, there was a glass railing, the sofas arranged towards the glass railing, and a staircase next to it leading down there.
The atmosphere was complemented by dim lighting, adding an intimate touch typical of a night bar.
Selena walked to the bar table, looking at the notes that were already written there. She quickly mixed several drinks, pouring them into glasses and opening a few bottles.
Peeking behind the bottle rack in front of her, she observed her guests dressed all in black at the end.
After finishing the mix, she left the bar table and walked towards their seats.
The smell of tobacco smoke and others mingled heavily that night with the surrounding air as she squatted politely, placing their drinks in front of the table.
"Is there anything else you would like to order, Sir?" she asked, holding the tray in her hand.
The men remained silent, as if waiting for someone authorized to respond.
After a moment of silence, Selena understood that a pair of eyes had been watching her the whole time.
Sitting on the end of the sofa, he seemed to be the main leader of the night party. The person who would pay.
"Come here!" the voice was commanding, heavy, and full of emphasis as he ordered Selena to approach.
Leonardo waved his hand, signaling for Selena to come closer. However, the one called remained staring at the floor.
"Hey, do you not have ears?" his voice sounded louder.
Whispers from the other men began to be heard, anticipating their boss's anger towards the woman in front of him.
"Hey, sweet miss, listen to his orders; he's not in the mood tonight!" Samuel, who sat on the sofa closest to Selena, whispered.
The girl froze, recalling Madame Madeline's warning from earlier, that the man was cruel and merciless.
Selena, who was initially frozen as the man's voice was so familiar, now dared to step forward.
Her slender body glided gracefully in front of them, each curve fitting perfectly to enhance her beauty.
"I like your innocent demeanor! You are quite challenging," Leonardo grinned, observing her long legs with their smooth white skin.
But as the man's voice rang out again, Selena felt even more familiar. The man's voice seemed like it was recorded in her head.
She felt she had heard this voice before, but who was it?
Finally, Selena dared to look at him, and at that moment, her feet stopped in their tracks.
Her body trembled as if rooted to the floor. She met the sharp gaze of the man again, the epitome of perfection in this world.
Leonardo!
The name echoed in her mind, and at that moment, her heart felt like it was about to collapse. The man was staring at her intently, his penetrating gaze capable of making anyone submit, while his lips sucked on the cigar between his fingers.
Questions immediately flooded her mind. How could she serve him, the son of her own employer?
How could they meet here? The man had been away for quite some time, granting her peace in her life, but it seemed that tonight would mark the beginning of her misfortune again. Selena wanted to run, but seeing the man waving his hand, she felt like she couldn't leave.
"Do you want me to force you?" the man's tone was no longer calm as he sipped a glass of dark yellow liquid in front of him.
It seemed that he was starting to ignite with anger.
Selena hesitated further, afraid that he might recognize her.
"Alright! I like it; coercion and roughness are my two favorite things," the man grinned, taking off his jacket.
At the same time, the man's associates moved away. They seemed to understand the signal being sent by their boss.
The six subordinates rose, leaving Selena standing in fear in front of their boss.
The eerie atmosphere made her feel even more pressured.
She could not afford to die at this moment. After recalling her goal, she tried to push aside her fear. Selena did not want to fail tonight; she had to have a hold of the one hundred million. Finally, she took a step forward and ignored the tension.
She smiled, so sweetly, trying not to appear stiff so as not to arouse suspicion.
"And I will not make you do either of those things, Sir. Because tonight, I will not disappoint you." Her voice sounded gentle, although the tremor of nervousness could be felt by the man. She then poured a drink into his empty glass, trying to be as warm as possible. Then she handed the glass to Leonardo.
"Let's have fun!" she added, managing to say it somehow, sounding like an experienced seductress.
Leo accepted it with a cold gaze. The girl was about to take a seat on another sofa, but Leo's hand quickly pulled Selena's waist, causing her to sit on his lap. Startled, Selena let out a surprised yelp, unprepared.
Their faces were now even closer, their eyes locking, staring deeply into each other's. The pounding in the girl's chest intensified as their bodies touched.
The gaze from the man had successfully weakened her. His undying handsomeness remained unchanged-it was no wonder Madame Madeline had mentioned the numerous women who offered themselves to him, even though they had to endure his torture first.
But what they wanted was not the same as Selena; Leonardo was a dangerous man for her. She always felt fear whenever she was near him.
Leonardo sipped the drink given by Selena, and the corners of his lips were now drawn up, observing the woman whom he could not see fully due to the mask covering part of her face. Despite this, he could guess that she was quite beautiful from the sparkle in her blue eyes.
His hand then stretched to caress the girl's thigh, tracing the petite body with its beautiful curves, incredibly enticing.
Selena was taken aback by someone else's actions. She shuddered; the touch sent an electrifying shock through her. The man's gaze also made her wary.
"Beautiful eyes," the man praised the beauty of the woman before him.
"Thank you," the girl replied softly.
She tried to maintain composure as much as possible, even though she felt so pressured; being near him felt like sensing a lurking danger. Behind her mask, she knew that the man with the perfect face sculpture would not let her go once he knew who she really was at that moment.
The girl's hands tightened as she restrained herself from the man's warm touch. She had never been this close in an intense manner before, not even with the man she loved. She wanted to jump out of his lap but realized she had to endure as she was working.
The intense black eyes of the man in front of her focused on the alluring fold of her lips. The dark and heavy aura dominated, mesmerizing the girl into the sensations the man created.
The darkness felt even closer as the man's face closed the distance between them, causing the girl to grip the man's arms. She could smell the scent of his breath, a blend of wine and his unique masculine fragrance.
"May I remove your mask?" he whispered right in front of the girl's face, his hand even raised to pull the object. Selena widened her eyes in surprise, then quickly shook her head.
The man was rejected!
Leo fell silent for a moment, no one had ever dared to reject him before, he would not accept any reason, not even this girl rejecting him without giving an explanation first.
A thin smile appeared on the man's lips before finally capturing the lips that had been the object of beauty before his eyes. His lifted hand held her neck. This was a fitting response to her rejection.
Immediately, Selena's chest burned, the warmth spreading throughout her body. She held her breath, feeling stifled.
The thick, wet lips of the man felt like they were devouring her, lapping at her lips. It was the first time her kiss had been taken like this. Her hand gripping Leo's arm, she could do nothing but stay silent and pretend to enjoy it.
Leo continued to kiss the girl's lips, nibbling gently, sucking on them, waiting for a response. His other hand rubbed and caressed the girl's thigh sensually.
But minutes passed without any response from her; the girl seemed stiff as if she had never experienced it before.
"Your lips are sweet, baby," Leo whispered as he released the kiss, touching her lips with his finger, wiping away the traces of his saliva left there.
"Ugh!"
Suddenly, the man's kisses moved to her neck, surprising and causing Selena to stiffen. Her face lifted with almost white eyes, her mouth unable to contain a groan as the man's tongue swept her neck from bottom to top. Not a single spot was left untouched by his caresses. The motion was repeated until Selena could only blink while gripping the man's arm. It would be a lie if she didn't feel anything; this kiss had managed to awaken another side of her, although she didn't want to show it.
One of Leonardo's free hands stroked Selena's waist, moving up from her stomach to end up on her chest, gently squeezing the perfectly sized object in his hand. The girl tensed, feeling the improper touch, his touches sent tingles spreading throughout her body, evoking indescribable sensations.
Leo briefly held the girl's neck before kissing her lips again.
"Your lips so sensual, baby!" he whispered amidst the passionate kiss without releasing his grip.
The night had passed, Selena left the room when her job was done. She walked through the hallway towards the exit, immediately removing the mask she had been wearing, and took a deep breath.
Her eyes closed, feeling a slight regret. She squeezed the one hundred million in her grasp, having just received the payment. Despite her determination and good intentions, she still felt cheap now because she had sold her first kiss to that man.
But as she realized it was already late at night, she quickly continued her steps, trying to forget all the events of this night.
She quickly put the money in her worn crossbody bag. Walking to find the nearest restroom to change her clothes.
Suddenly, a sound made her stop in her tracks.
Srrrk!
She heard a rustling sound and cries of pain not far from her. The atmosphere immediately felt tense, horror enveloped her, the place was very quiet, the night activities had decreased, but the loud sound she heard was alarming.
Her hair stood on end as she turned aside and was shocked to see someone lying in a pool of blood, with a crushed face and stab wounds in the abdomen.
"Aaa..." she screamed spontaneously, her eyes widened, quickly covering her open mouth with her hand. She was very scared at this moment; even moving her feet was so difficult.
"Boss, someone saw us!" one of the perpetrators of the stabbing said, and the boss called out immediately turned around.
His gaze directly landed on the girl in a red dress standing at the end of the hallway.
"Leonardo!" Selena whispered in her heart upon seeing the man who had done all of this.
She quickly pulled her trembling feet and ran swiftly away from this place, away from the man who might be chasing her.
Leo narrowed his eyes, looking at the girl in the red dress who looked familiar.
"She seems like the woman who just served you, Sir," one of the man's henchmen said.
Leo stood up immediately and ran towards the end of the hallway to chase after the girl.
Leo lost track of Selena, when he arrived at the end of the hallway, the girl had turned in a different direction.
"Should I chase after her, Sir?" the henchman who had helped Leo before now approached.
Leo remained still, a thin smile appearing on his lips, whatever he was thinking was unknown, but Leo shook his head, "No need!"
He let her go, which made the henchman look puzzled, as Leo usually wouldn't allow anyone to interfere in his affairs; he would eliminate anyone who witnessed this horrific incident because he could not afford to have witnesses to the murder he had committed, and the woman had seen everything. It could be dangerous if she spread this news to the media.
Leo's henchman seemed to question with his gaze, why are you letting her go?
"She won't be a threat, especially daring to spread this news to the media."
"How can you be sure, Sir?"
"Don't worry, I will take care of it," he said casually, as if his mind was forming a plan that others should not know about.
You are grown up now, little rabbit? He muttered with a mysterious smile.
"Very well."
"Now, take care of the body, place her in front of the Olympus headquarters gate."
"It's too easy to get rid of her," he added.
The one given the order then carried out his task, covering the man's face with his hoodie and carrying him as if nothing had happened to him. Leonardo briefly ensured this before stepping away towards his car.
Before this incident occurred, someone had been following him from behind. Unbeknownst to his enemy, who was walking alone, another one of Leo's henchmen was following him.
The stalker intended to stab Leonardo with a knife, but another one of Leo's henchmen was alerted, so his daring act resulted in a fatal turn of events.
Leo was furious; his sudden return, not known to anyone, had been sniffed out by his enemy. He knew the mastermind behind all of this; for a long time, his clan had been at odds with another powerful mafia clan in North America.
"Olympus, do you think you can attack Hades!" Leo muttered to himself as he arrived and entered his car.
He wiped his blood-drenched hands with a tissue, then removed his shirt that had been splattered with blood and replaced it with a new one. Another one of his henchmen had prepared new clothes for him; there were always spare clothes in the car to anticipate situations like this.
Being anywhere always carries risks. Approaching his 30s, many people desired his life. Known as a dangerous leader, he not only ruled the underworld but his name was also famous in high-level business circles. Many wanted to bring him down, but it was not as easy as most people thought; on average, those who threatened him were first delivered to hell by Leo.
"Let's go to the nearest hotel, tomorrow night we'll head to the Davidson mansion," Leo said to his driver beside him.
"Alright, Sir."
Leo's driven car moved through the darkness of the night.
Meanwhile, Selena ran as fast as she could to avoid the pursuit of the man earlier, carrying her shoes in her hand along with the bag she clutched.
She looked back; Leo was no longer following her. Even though she was now safe, her heart palpitations had yet to calm down. Her legs felt shaky, weak, and if she didn't have a purpose in life anymore, she might have collapsed on the road and given up.
Unfortunately, she had to return immediately and fulfill her goal.
She breathed heavily, then chose to lean against a closed shop wall to rest, straighten her legs, and regulate her breathing.
With her eyes closed, she continued to protect the bag. To her, nothing was more important than that money. For if she lost that money, her life would surely become even more painful.
"Calm down, Selena, you are safe now," she muttered, taking in the night air deeply.
She opened her eyes and shook her head.
"It's best to go home now and make sure Claire doesn't come home first," she continued on her way.
The distance between the bar and Uncle Jonathan's house was only 2 km, so she only needed to walk.
But as she glanced at the road, she accidentally saw a pair of sharp eyes watching her from inside a car, making her heart beat very fast again. Her body almost lost control, but she kept walking to maintain her balance.
"Hahh, I mustn't let him recognize me. This is dangerous!"
Selena immediately turned her face away and ran back, using up the remaining energy she had. Passing through dark narrow alleyways, she eventually arrived at the back gate of Uncle Jonathan's large house.
She looked around, making sure no one else would see her, including Claire.
As she scanned the garage, she didn't see Claire's car parked there, which meant the woman had not returned yet.
"Thank goodness."
Selena quickly threw her shoes inside and climbed the not-so-high fence. Then she jumped.
Srrrk!
However, after landing, her eyes widened as her dress got caught on the iron fence.
Selena quickly pulled it, oh why was her luck this bad. She cursed in her heart, wondering why there always seemed to be trials for those facing difficulties.
"I hope Edward won't be angry, I'll sew it later. Huh," wiping the sweat from her forehead, Selena walked towards her room at the back. Her room was separate from the main building, but still parallel; it was just located behind and connected to the warehouse.
She unlocked the iron bar on her door and entered right away.
Lying down for a moment to replay the recent experience she had just gone through. The incident was truly terrifying, the man was so cruel and dangerous.
"I haven't heard from him in a long time, he's becoming more and more disturbing. Huh,"
But the horrific memory was instantly erased by his handsome face suddenly appearing in her mind; she remembered again when he touched and kissed her earlier.
Unconsciously, her hand touched her own lips; remembering made her hate herself. She shuddered at the thought of the kiss.
Selena got up, first changing her dress before heading to the bathroom to wash her entire face, removing the lipstick from her lips. She stared at herself in the mirror, touching her lips again, wanting to erase the imprint of the man's kiss. Leaning against the sink, one hand kept rubbing her lips vigorously until they felt numb, but the more she tried, the clearer her memories of the man became.
She felt frustrated, angry, and wanted to cry; it was too difficult to forget this incident. Even her lips seemed reluctant to let go of the mark of the kiss. Feeling too overwhelmed, Selena decided to return to her room and curl up under the pillow, muttering curses to herself.
But not long after, a knock startled her.
She fell silent when the knocking stopped.
"Selena! It's me, Uncle," the voice echoed from outside, accompanied by the sound of knocking resuming.
Her almond-shaped eyes widened in an instant, why was her uncle calling her?
The man's attitude had at least slightly changed since he was accused of stealing his daughter's locket. But even so, he still tried to remain calm and be kind to her.
"Yes, Uncle," she said as she walked over to open the door and saw the man standing in front of her.
"W-what is it, Uncle?"
"Did you just come out? I heard a sound like a gate opening. I just worry if it's someone else trying to enter here," Uncle Jonathan said anxiously.
Selena squeezed her hand to calm her nerves; she didn't expect that the sound of the iron bar she opened would be heard all the way to Uncle Jonathan's ears-whose room was in the front building.
"Um, yes, I just came out to the bathroom, Uncle," she replied, not entirely lying as she had just gone to the bathroom in front of her room.
"Don't stay up late, Selena. It's not good," he reprimanded, noting that it was already one in the morning.
"Yes, Uncle," the girl just bowed her head, hoping Uncle Jonathan wouldn't suspect that she had secretly left and just returned.
In the midst of the tension, she heard the sound of a car engine quite loudly entering the house yard.
"Is Claire just coming back?" Uncle Jonathan looked surprised.
Selena was startled, but it was indeed the sound of Claire's car.
"In that case, go to sleep, Selena. It's late. The sound of Claire opening the gate earlier was sure. Forgive me for disturbing your rest," Uncle Jonathan quickly left.
Selena just sighed and entered her room. She lay back down on her floor bed, taking out a photo of her parents when they were young.
She truly missed their presence; if only the tragedy hadn't befallen them, her fate might not have been as unfortunate. Living alone with all the pain. In the past, her parents were trusted individuals in the Davidson family and part of their security team. But when she was still in school, shocking news came when a tragedy struck them, the news was so surprising, as if it shattered her once colorful world. Even to this day, she still did not know the motive behind the accident, the government closed the case, and the Davidson family did not even reveal the location of her parents' graves.
Since her parents' departure, Uncle Jonathan had taken care of Selena; Jonathan Thompson still had a relationship with Selena's mother.
He took Selena, who at the time was going to be taken care of by Albert Davidson, the patriarch of the Davidson family who was their boss at the time.
Uncle Jonathan felt it was his responsibility to care for what was left by his brother.
But the reality was just the opposite, Emilia Thompson-her aunt-did not like her; she was always considered a nuisance. Uncle Jonathan himself could not do anything; every time he defended her, his wife and daughter would attack him if he showed favoritism.
Now Selena could only be patient, waiting for her time to be happy, even though she didn't know when.
She could only fantasize like the fairytale life of Cinderella who would be happy after meeting her prince charming.
As her daydreams soared, she heard the commotion between Uncle Jonathan and Claire outside.
They seemed to be arguing, her uncle was strict about discipline and wanted his daughter not to get involved in free mingling, but Claire was a rebellious child who never obeyed her father.
Selena shuddered at the thought of being scolded by her uncle; she suddenly felt guilty and afraid that Uncle Jonathan would find out that she had just returned from the night club.
At this moment, she could only hope that the man wouldn't find out about this.
Meanwhile, Leo was standing on the edge of his balcony. As he gazed at the sky with the city view below, he kissed his hand.
The warm touch he had given to the girl earlier still lingered on his fingers.
The vanilla scent emanating from her body was so tempting.
"Mmm, sweet," he murmured while taking a deep breath, smelling his hand.
He had never been so lost in thought like this before. Admiring his one-night partner, and even considering visiting her again.
In his opinion, there was no pleasant impression in that encounter because he did not engage in lovemaking.
Usually, he only used his partner once after getting satisfaction from them and did not want to visit them again. But strangely, after tonight, he had the desire to see her again.
Perhaps it was due to an unsatisfied curiosity, after what he had seen last night convinced him that the woman resembled someone he had seen before.
