Olivia's POV
I fixed my eyes on the man I was going to marry tonight, and as soon as I met his enigmatic and soulless gaze, I found myself suddenly unable to breathe normally. I was so anxious right now. I inhaled softly and tried to quiet down, but I couldn't even bring my knees together because they were trembling so much. I feel like I'm going to pass away tonight.
The man in a white suit walked towards me, and my eyes sparked when I finally had the moment to be alone with him. My heart beat so fast that I couldn't contain my excitement after seeing my crush for the first time. I've always seen him on the television, and in magazines, and now he's really standing right in front of me!
He said, "Olivia, right?"
I nodded and shyly extended my hand for a handshake, but he ignored my hand and he just distanced himself with a dark expression. I stopped smiling when I realized he hated me from the moment he first saw me.
He whispered clearly in his husky voice, "If this is not about the company and my dying father, I won't settle for a marriage like this."
I scowled at him and clenched my teeth in anger. I thought he might be a gentleman, but he's too honest. So I put my head up and smiled at him. "Don't worry, you're not my kind of person. I won't care about you or your life, even if we get married tonight. Nothing will change in our lives."
He glanced at me, and his gorgeous lips suddenly curled up for a smile, "Indeed."
I gave him a dirty look and rolled my eyes. Who does he think he is, anyway? Then he called my name again, and I turned to look at his hand, which was reaching out to take mine because the ceremony was about to start. I gave him a puzzled look and walked past him. He insulted me before, so why is he acting like nothing happened in the last few minutes?
I won't ever take his hand, even if he looks like a Greek god.
Walking down the aisle, I saw him waiting for me at the altar. Everyone stared at me because I wore a white wedding dress and looked like a princess. I'm holding my mom and dad's hands as they walk me to the aisle, and I'm crying not because I'm happy but because I'm scared of what's coming next in my life. Living in the same house as this man must be a living misery for anyone.
Then, all of a sudden, when I got to the altar, my parents left me for this man. When I looked over at Matthew, who was looking at me, he sighed. We both looked at each other for a long time after he touched my hand.
We both exchanging fake vows, and everyone clapped their hands as the priest said, "You may now kiss the bride,"
He leaned in close and caressed the side of my face, then whispered, "Can I kiss you?"
I didn't know what to say because I was too scared to feel his lips on mine, so I just closed my eyes. Suddenly, his lips brushed against mine, and it was a tender, soft, and quick kiss. Then, when I heard everyone clapping their hands, I opened my eyes again, and Matthew was staring at my wet lips.
People were happy that night, but they had no idea...I know nothing at all about the guy I married.
*************
At 11 PM at Paradise Hotel, we arrived there like we were not a couple because I was walking in the hallway all by myself because I felt awkward to be with him. He was not speaking to me, and I don't like it. I felt like a statue waiting for someone to talk to me.
The staff hotel opened the door for me, and I got the key card, and closed the door.
"Oh, shit. I can't unzip this fucking gown!" I yelled in frustration.
"You need help?"
I jumped in my feet as I heard his voice, and I didn't know that he was already inside the room before I came in. I turned around to look at him in a puzzled look, "I thought we need to live like normal people. You should not be in my room."
He stood up, and put his hand in his pocket. He unzipped my clothes so easily, making me tremble in shock. I stepped backward, and said, "D-Don't come near me."
"Olivia, I can't look for a room right now. They will be confused if the groom didn't sleep with his bride tonight. I mean, husband and wife should have the same bed."
I nodded my head, and sighed, "Oh, right. We are both strangers to each other, so it's better you're not going to sleep with me tonight because that's really awkward and not acceptable for me."
He laughed, "You're so pious, aren't you? You preserved your virginity until you found the love of your life. But too late, you are married to me now."
"If I said no, no." I sighed as I put my hand on his chest stopping him from getting too close to me.
He laughed at me, making me feel so insulted. "It's alright. I can get any woman I want, you can stay a virgin wife as long as you can."
I ignored him, and I tried to look for my clothes inside my black suitcase, and he continued saying, "You know sex is good. Do you want to try?"
I pursed my lips, and glared at him. "I-I don't want to."
I bit my lower lip when I realized that all of my clothes were lingerie for a honeymoon, and he was actually looking at it. I mumbled softly, "Why did they pack such a thing like this?"
Matthew's lips turned up, and he said, "Oh," making an O with his mouth, and rolled down on the bed like he owned it.
I sighed nervously, "What should I do now?"
Olivia's POV
After I showered, I quickly put a soft carpet on the floor and sighed as I looked at the man sleeping peacefully on the big, soft bed. "Why don't you sleep on the bed?" he asked as he slowly moved and opened his sleepy eyes.
My heart skipped a beat when I heard his magnetic voice, and I turned around to glare at him.
I bit my bottom lip, then spoke. "No problem. I can sleep well in this room." I tapped the carpet and picked up a piece of blanket and a pillow. Then he laid down like I don't care about him tonight.
I heard him grumble, "I don't know why women are so hard to understand. You could sleep in the same bed as me and nothing would happen between us. You understand? Because I'm not attracted to you. I like wild women who are wild in bed---"
I cut him off, "Shut up! I don't want to hear about the crazy things you do with the people you sleep with! You don't have to say that to me. I'm a normal person, and a normal person like me shouldn't have conversations about sex with you. Good night."
He chuckled like a maniac in the corner, and he said, "Good night."
***********
I woke up with a heavy thing on my arm, and when I opened my eyes, I saw his arm tightly wrapped on my shoulder, and I couldn't even breathe better. I pushed him away, and frowned at him. "What are you doing?"
"Good morning." He said as he lifted his arm, and stretched it calmly. He looked at me, and said, "Oh, sorry, I forgot that you slept down here."
I mimic him, "Oh, sorry, I forgot that you sleep down here." Then I rolled my eyes, and checked my phone. My eyes widened as I saw the time, it was already noon!
"Oh, gosh! We will have lunch today with my parents, and we are still in pyjamas. Come on, get up! They don't like to wait!" I said as I tried to get up, but he grabbed my feet causing me to flip, and he caught my fragile body.
"Uhh, you are so heavy." he smiled like a psycho.
"Don't do that ever again!" I hate him for doing this to me, it looked like he likes to play with me.
"Don't worry, they'll understand why you're late. They must be thinking we did something dirty last night." He winked at me, trying to tease me.
I hit him in the chest, and he got up. "You are so annoying, you know?"
"You were the only girl who left me a bone." He spoke quietly.
"What did you say?" I gave him an angry look, but he just shut the door to the bathroom and left me mad. I wanted to scream in his ears because he made me feel this way. If marriage looks like this, I don't want it anymore.
After I finished putting makeup on my face, Matthew opened the door with an impatient look on his face, "Are you done?"
"Not yet, five minutes." I said.
He grabbed my hand, and grabbed my purse, "Let's go."
"What are you doing?!" I pushed him away but he locked the door already, and we walked to the elevator in a rush, and he was still holding my hand. We both looked at each other's hand, and suddenly I let go of his hand and sighed, "I hate you."
Matthew glanced at me, "The feeling is mutual. So we need to endure each other forever ...."
I walked past him, and walked as much as I could. He was left behind but he was walking calmly, and everyone stared at him when he walked to the lobby. Damn, this man likes to be everyone's attention. I waited for him at the entrance, and I was startled when he held my hand.
"Just hold my hand." He whispered.
When I looked around, I saw that everyone was looking at us. I gave him a sweet smile and a kiss on his mouth. "Anyway, the driver hasn't shown up yet. So why must you hurry me?"
"Well, it's better to be on time than late, and there he is! He got there on time." He gave me a wink, and the car in front of us stopped. He helped me get into the car like a real gentleman.
But inside the car, I flinched away from him. I was disgusted to hold his hand, and his expression darkened. He said to the driver, "Drive."
When we arrived at my parent's house, I saw my half-sister, Madeline. She swayed her hips sophisticatedly while she was walking towards us. She smiled at me, and said, "There you are, Dad has been waiting for you."
I smiled back, "I know."
She stared at the man behind me, and she said, "Hi, I'm Madeline. Olivia's half-sister."
Matthew just nodded his head, and went inside without glancing back at her.
I winked at Madeline, "Sorry, I married a douchebag." Then followed Matthew inside, I saw him shaking hands with my parents, and they were both sitting on the eight sitters table. Madeline came in and asked the butler to serve the food already.
"Make sure it's hot before you serve it." Madeline told the butler.
I sat beside Matthew, and pulled the table napkin on my lap, and he watched me doing that. He smirked, "Hungry?"
I nodded my head as I replied to him.
Mom asked, "Liv! Darling, how were you last night?" She smiled at me.
I bit my lower lip, and glanced at Madeline who was staring at me. "I'm fine, I slept on the floor last night.
Everyone was silenced as they heard that from me and I continued, "I married a stranger man, so what would you expect me to do? Love him immediately like I've known him for years?"
Matthew sighed, "Yeah, she's right."
Mom glared at me, "But you know, you have to be a wife."
I chewed my food, and nodded, "Yeah, but not too fast, mom."
Madeline chuckled softly, "Well maybe Olivia still adjusting of her new life-"
My mom cut Madeline off, "Madeline, I'm not talking to you. Eat your food because this conversation is about Olivia."
Madeline inhaled a deep breath and raised her eyebrow, "Oh, yeah?"
My father said, "Madeline is right, maybe your daughter is still adjusting to her new life. Let's give her time to get used to her new life. If two separate rooms can help them to get to know each other better, that would be okay."
Mom didn't like it, so she slammed her hand on the table and said, "No, you can't do that. Well, my daughter just got married, and she has a husband. What would people say about marriage if they know this? It was worthless and shameful. I'm just protecting the family's name."
Matthew cleared his throat and used a napkin to wipe the edge of his lips. "I think I've had enough of this kind of talk." He stood and gave me a quick look before saying, "Stand up, we're leaving."
Olivia's POV
As we left lunch, all I could think about was how upset my parents would be if I had left for the first time in the middle of a family meal. I moved away from Matthew and asked, "So, what's next?"
"Your parents have every right to tell you what to do, and you don't even have a word for that. They even invade your marital privacy."
The driver looked at us, and Matthew said, "You can take your day off, Mr. Rusco. I'll be the one driving."
The driver smiled and nodded its head. Then Matthew pushed me toward the front seat, so I asked in annoyance, "What are you doing?"
"I'm saving you. If they don't like me for you tomorrow, they might ask you to marry someone else. It could hurt my family's image, and of course, my father is dying! I can't let my brother take over the business if you ever divorce me," he said as he slammed the door.
Then he turned around and went to the front seat to drive the car away from my parents' house.
I sighed as I let every word he said sink in. "Wait...what? No, of course not. I'm not going to get a divorce from you today or tomorrow. It's funny that you think that. And, of course, the person who asked for the divorce has to pay a lot of money. No, I won't do that."
He smirked and said, "Well, I'm glad to hear that. Wanna come with me?"
I rolled my eyes. "Where?"
"Night club."
*************
7 p.m. Paradise Club
Dark lights, and lots of people inside the fancy club in Metropolitan City. I met a few of his friends there and now I'm in the corner drinking my margarita while staring at Matthew who dance on the dance floor with a curvy and flirtatious woman.
I rolled my eyes and thought that if marriage was like this, living like this forever would be very miserable for me. I don't want this kind of marriage because I want love and respect. But the man that I married was kissing another woman in front of me.
I gasped and bit my lower lip, and when I stood up, I bumped into someone, he was nice to me because he said, "Oh, sorry, are you okay?"
"Yeah, It's okay, no worries," I said as I headed to the comfort room but he chased me. So I stopped walking and smiled at him. He extended his hand to me, and said, "Hi, I'm Arthur."
I was about to shake his hands but someone grabbed my arm, and it was Matthew. "Sorry, my wife is taken and she doesn't want to entertain any men in this club."
I was speechless. This man is getting on my nerves, I was about to have fun but he cut it off. Matthew dragged me out of the crowd, and as we arrived at the parking lot, I slapped his chest. "You stay away from my business, and I won't touch yours."
I pursed my lips when he didn't say anything, he just opened the car's front seat, and said, "Get in."
"I'm not gonna get in! You kissed another girl, and when I want to entertain another man, you get in my way? What's wrong with you?"
He replied, "Because I can, and you can't. You're a woman, and that guy out there can take advantage of you....and of course, you are still a virgin,"
"Oh my god, Matthew. Shut your mouth, are we really talking about my virginity? Omg, I can't....I can't face you right now." I walked away from him and looked for a taxi outside the club's parking lot.
I'm waiting for a cab in the waiting shed, and a group of guys in the area keep staring at me. After putting on a jacket, I saw they were approaching me.
"Isn't she Olivia Martin? What is Olivia Martin doing in this empty shed? Want to take a taxi? I can drive you home, baby." they all laugh at me.
I turned his offer down and walked slowly trying to look left and right. But they followed me, they were three guys with a lot of tattoos on their arms. They cornered me in the street, and it's making me feel scared!
"Stay away from me, or else I'm calling the police!" I threatened them.
"Really? Call them if you want, but before you do that, you have to come with us." the man said and he grabbed my arm.
"Let go of my arm!" I screamed at him, and in an instant, someone grabbed his collar, and punched his face and it was Matthew who saved me from these people. Matthew pulled out his gun, and said, "One more move, or I'll shoot each and every one of you!"
"That's Matthew Huxley, right?!" The man asked in a panic to his friends.
One of his friends replied, "Yes, that's him."
"Oh, shit! Run!" He said, and they ran away from him in fear.
I took a deep breath and was still scared because I thought they would hurt me. Then, all of a sudden, he was there, saving me from hell. Upon meeting his gaze, my entire world slowed down. "Are you okay?" he asked, holding both of my arms.
He was so much taller than me that I had to crane my neck to make eye contact. "I'm good, please....take me home."
"It's all right, no worries, okay?" He tapped my shoulder and took me with him.
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, all our things were already packed outside, and I asked in confusion, "Where are we going?"
"Home." He replied.
Then guards helped us take our belongings and put them inside. I went to another car again, and it was kind of exhausting for me since I don't like traveling a lot, especially at night.
"But where?" I asked again.
Matthew replied sarcastically, "Since you are married to me, we are going to our home and we can't just stay in the hotel for a lot of days. It's boring you know? We sleep in a hotel and we don't do exciting things like married couples do?"
"I'm not going to sleep with you, Matthew."
"But you will soon."
Then there's a woman who keeps calling him all the time, and it bothers me a lot because I can't concentrate on sleeping.
I grumpily said, "Matthew, your woman is calling you all the time, do you have a plan to talk to her or not? If not, then off your phone because I'm trying to sleep here."
Without uttering a word, he rolled down his window and threw his phone out of his window. My mouth dropped in shock, "What the....are you serious right now?"
"Sleep." he sighed and closed the privacy window between the driver and the passenger. Then he looked at me intently, "Don't say a word...or else I'll kiss you to shut your mouth."
"Shut up!" I said while rolling my eyes, and leaning to my side.
Then he abruptly grabbed my arm and pulled me for a kiss, my eyes kept blinking as I watched him closing his eyes, and enjoying kissing me. It was a rough kiss, he opened my mouth and demanded, "Kiss me back, you should learn how to kiss."
I pushed him away, and wiped my lips, "You have no right to kiss me! I...I don't like it." even though I feel like I'm about to melt in his arms.
"Yeah, sure you don't like it." He said with sarcasm and laughed at me, and deep inside my blood was boiling for him in annoyance.
He continued, "And also you don't know how to kiss."
"Shut up."
"You should ask for my help. I can really help you, Olivia."
"Oh my god, shut up!" I screamed at him in shame, damn this man is having fun of me.
He cupped my face, and I pouted at him, but he asked one question that made my heart beat so fast, "Can I kiss you again?"
