Omega's Secret: The Cruel Alpha King's Hidden Luna

Author: : Lila
Genre: Werewolf
Juliet Austin was an Omega meant to be used and discarded. For years, she was drained to keep her sister alive. When her sister vanished before a political mating meant to save the Frostfang Pack, Juliet was chosen as the replacement. A bride was required. And no one would miss an Omega. Forced into the bed of Alpha Kaius Blair, the most feared Lycan King alive, Juliet expected death. Instead, she became the woman he could never forget. Then she disappeared. To survive, Juliet erased her past and was reborn as Austin Voss. She was no longer weak, no longer obedient, and no longer willing to be sacrificed. But fate is relentless. When Alpha Kaius finds her again, he does not recognize the woman standing before him. She is calm, unbowed, and powerful in her own right. Once an Omega offered as a replacement bride, Juliet must now decide whether to keep running from her past or turn back and claim the destiny they tried to steal from her. A story of rebirth, identity, and a mate bond that refuses to be forgotten.

Chapter 1 Hunted by the Alpha

SLAP!

The sound exploded through the grand hall like a rifle shot.

Juliet staggered backward as Alpha Walton's palm cracked against her cheek with brutal force, the impact snapping her head to the side. For a moment that stretched like eternity, she saw nothing but blazing white. The polished marble floor rushed up to meet her vision, slick and cold, as her knees threatened to give out completely.

She barely managed to keep herself upright.

Blood flooded her mouth, thick and copper-bitter. She swallowed it down instinctively, terrified that if she opened her lips, she might let slip a sound-one that would give him satisfaction.

Agony spread across her face like wildfire.

But she did not cry.

She never cried.

"Where the fuck is Sofia?" Alpha Walton bellowed like a rabid animal.

His golden eyes burned with unhinged fury. "Answer me, Juliet!"

She couldn't stop herself from flinching. Inside her chest, her wolf Rosie curled into herself, trembling. A broken whimper echoed through Juliet's very soul, the sound of a creature too shattered to fight back.

Today was supposed to be a celebration.

The grand union.

The day Frostfang Pack would finally secure its survival by offering Sofia Walton as mate to the most dangerous Alpha in North America-Kaius Blair of the Blackwood Pack.

Everyone knew his name.

Everyone trembled at the mention of it.

Alpha Blair had built his empire not on diplomacy, but on blood and terror. Ruthless. Strategic. Absolutely untouchable. A man who ruled both corporate empires and werewolf territories with equal precision.

The rumors alone were enough to make grown werewolves break out in cold sweats.

They said his bloodline was so overwhelmingly dominant that it literally drained weaker wolves to death. That females who were not his true mate often withered away... or died screaming.

And by all accounts, he still hadn't found his fated mate.

But pack succession depended on bloodlines. He had chosen Sofia as his breeding stock-as an Alpha's daughter, she possessed the genetic strength to survive his brutal mating and bear him powerful heirs.

He had paid a king's ransom for a surrogate wife. But now, Sofia Walton had vanished into thin air. Right under the Frostfang Pack's supposedly watchful eyes.

"I...I don't know where she is," Juliet said quietly, dropping her gaze in the submissive posture an Omega was expected to maintain. Her voice shook despite her desperate attempt to steady it. "I haven't seen Sofia since yesterday."

Behind Alpha Walton, the guards looked like they wanted to disappear into the walls.

One of them stepped forward reluctantly, clearing his throat. "Alpha... according to our tracking teams, Sofia left the territory last night. She was with Jasper Reed. Their scent trail leads straight to the eastern border."

The name hit Juliet like a silver bullet to the heart.

Jasper.

Her breath caught in her throat.

Her destined mate.

The warrior who once whispered forever into her hair when no one was watching. The only person who had ever looked at her like she was worth something.

Juliet had been taken in by Alpha Walton when she was still a child-an act the pack once praised as mercy.

Years later, that mercy had a price.

The Waltons used her as a living blood bank, siphoning her life force drop by drop to keep Sofia healthy and strong.

Every feeding left her colder, weaker.

Sofia grew healthier by the day, while Juliet learned how to hide the dizziness, the bruises, the way her wolf grew quieter each time they took from her.

Jasper had been the only one who noticed.

He had smuggled her food when she was too weak to hunt.

The one who caught her when her legs gave out.

The one who brushed sweat-soaked hair from her burning forehead and whispered, "One day, you'll be free of this hell."

And now he had run away with Sofia.

Juliet's stomach dropped like a stone. She stumbled back, pressing her palm against the wall to keep from collapsing.

Alpha Walton was still screaming orders. Guards scattered like startled birds, their boots thundering against the marble.

But the sounds became distant white noise.

All Juliet could hear was the blood rushing in her ears.

Her hands trembled violently as she pulled out her phone.

She wasn't thinking clearly.

She just desperately needed to hear his voice.

Each ring felt like a countdown to her execution.

He answered.

"What do you want?"

His voice was arctic. Emotionless. Stripped of every trace of the warmth she'd once treasured.

"Jasper..." Juliet whispered. "They're saying you left with Sofia."

There was a pause that lasted forever.

Then he exhaled, slow and deliberate, like she was nothing more than an annoying interruption.

"Listen very carefully, Juliet," he said. "Whatever fantasy you thought existed between us-it was all in your head."

Her heart began to crack.

"You're an Omega. Bottom of the food chain. No power. No influence." He continued with clinical coldness. "Sofia is an Alpha's daughter. She's powerful. Respected. She belongs with someone like me."

Each word was a calculated strike designed to destroy her.

"She's my future," Jasper said. "You were just... convenient. A warm body when I was bored."

Juliet felt something vital shatter inside her chest.

"I, Jasper Reed," he said with the finality of a judge passing sentence, "reject you, Juliet Austin, as my mate."

The agony was immediate.

Catastrophic.

It tore through her like a chainsaw, ripping apart everything that made her whole. She doubled over, clutching her chest as if she could physically hold her disintegrating heart together.

Her breath came in ragged, desperate gasps. The world spun violently.

Rosie howled inside her mind, a sound of pure anguish that seemed to go on forever.

But Juliet did not beg.

She would rather die first.

She forced herself upright, her entire body shaking as she spoke.

"I, Juliet Austin," she said through gritted teeth, "accept your rejection."

Each word felt like swallowing molten metal.

The mate bond snapped like a rubber band stretched too far.

The silence that followed was absolutely deafening.

At that exact moment, the doors exploded open.

Luna Cara Walton stormed into the hall like an avenging fury, her usually immaculate appearance finally cracking under pressure. Her hair was disheveled, her designer suit wrinkled from hours of panicked pacing.

Linda, Sofia's younger sister, followed close behind, her face frozen like she'd walked into a nightmare.

Vicious. Sadistic. Always smiling her prettiest when Juliet bled the most.

"Any fucking news?" Cara snarled, panic cutting through her voice like broken glass. "The Blackwood delegation arrives in twenty minutes. Do you have any concept of what happens if we don't deliver a bride?"

Alpha Walton dragged both hands through his graying hair. "Blair will consider it a personal insult."

"He'll annihilate us," Cara whispered. "Piece by bloody piece."

"We'll lose everything!" Linda shrieked like a banshee. "Our businesses. Our territory. Our lives! All because Sofia couldn't keep her legs closed for one fucking night!"

Juliet stood frozen in the corner, watching them completely fall apart.

A dark, vindictive part of her found it deeply satisfying.

They had treated her like livestock for years.

She owed them less than nothing.

"Someone has to take her place," Cara said suddenly, her tone shifting to something dangerously calculating. "The contract only specifies 'a bride from the Walton bloodline.' It doesn't say it has to be Sofia specifically."

The room went dead silent.

Then Linda's gaze slowly slid toward Juliet.

Her smile was predatory. Absolutely vicious.

"Why not her?" Linda said with fake sweetness that made Juliet's skin crawl. "After all, no one will miss a worthless Omega."

Juliet's blood turned to ice water.

They were going to sacrifice her.

Like a lamb to slaughter.

Rosie snarled with primal terror.

Juliet ran.

She didn't make it ten feet.

Agony exploded at the base of her skull.

The world went black.

Her final thought wasn't panic or rage.

It was a desperate prayer.

Moon Goddess... please.

Don't let this nightmare be how my story ends.

Chapter 2 Marked by Fate

Kaius

"Alpha, the breeding female has been delivered to the Presidential Suite at The Cardinal, exactly as arranged."

Kaius severed the mindlink connection, pinching the bridge of his nose as tension coiled through his body like barbed wire.

The raw fury that had been festering all day sharpened to a razor's edge.

This entire arrangement reeked of the dark ages, the barbaric traditions he'd fought tooth and nail to modernize since taking control of the Blackwood Pack.

As the Alpha who commanded the largest werewolf empire across North America, with tens of thousands of wolves under his iron fist, he'd built his reputation on strength balanced with intelligence.

And this?

This was pure savagery.

"You look ready to murder someone, Kai," Ethan drawled from the leather chair across from his desk, sprawled out like he didn't have a care in the world.

Kaius's younger brother and second-in-command, Beta in name but often the only voice of reason he'd listen to.

His casual attitude only fed the fire already eating away at Kaius's control.

"This whole fucking situation is beneath us," Kaius muttered, reaching for the crystal tumbler of whiskey.

The burn sliding down his throat was the only honest thing about this night.

"Trading territory and resources for a breeding female like we're haggling over livestock."

Ethan's eyebrow shot up. "Then why the hell did you agree to it? You've told half a dozen families to go fuck themselves with similar proposals this year."

Kaius's wolf, Alex, stirred with a low, dangerous growl, pacing like a caged predator just beneath the surface.

They both knew the real answer, even if neither wanted to voice it.

She came to him from a hospital bed, eyes still blazing with defiance despite months of her body betraying her.

His mother. The only woman whose disappointment could bring him to his knees.

"I want to see grandchildren before I die, Kai. Just one. Is that really too much to ask?"

Kaius slammed the glass down harder than necessary, the crystal ringing against wood like a death knell.

"At least Walton knew how to make it worth my while," he said with ice in his voice. "Territory expansion, exclusive shipping routes, prime hunting grounds. All for putting a pup in his precious daughter."

"Alpha females are built to survive," Ethan said, ever the cold strategist. "She should make it through the birth. Once the heir arrives, you compensate her generously and everyone walks away happy."

Kaius shot up from his desk, rolling his shoulders to shake off the crushing weight pressing down on him.

The air felt suffocating. The room like a cage.

"Let's get this nightmare over with."

The Cardinal Hotel.

Every staff member in the opulent marble lobby bowed their heads as Kaius passed, their movements precise as clockwork.

"The suite has been prepared exactly as requested, Alpha," his head of security murmured, falling into step with military precision.

"No surveillance. No staff access without your direct authorization."

Kaius gave a sharp nod, his attention already consumed by tomorrow's power plays-board meetings, quarterly projections, the endless machinery of empire that demanded his constant focus.

Until the world tilted off its axis.

Then it slammed into him like a physical assault.

A scent. Wild and intoxicating. Honeysuckle blooming under summer lightning. Rain-soaked pine after a violent storm.

His nostrils flared involuntarily. His pulse exploded, blood roaring in his ears like thunder.

Alex went rigid beneath his skin, every instinct screaming alarm.

Something's wrong, the wolf snarled, pacing frantically. Something's completely wrong.

Kaius shook it off, jaw clenching with irritation. It had to be residual traces of heat suppressants. Maybe the hotel's expensive aromatherapy bullshit playing tricks on his enhanced senses.

He wasn't here to feel. Wasn't here to be distracted by phantom scents or his wolf's sudden paranoia.

He was here to fulfill a contract. Nothing more.

To breed Sofia Walton and sign a treaty.

The elevator chimed softly. He stepped out onto the top floor, his footsteps swallowed by luxury carpeting.

And then it hit him again-stronger this time. Closer. Absolutely devastating.

The scent wrapped around him like invisible chains, pulling him forward against every rational thought. He followed it like a man possessed, heart pounding with an urgency that defied explanation, every instinct screaming that everything had just changed.

The key card clicked. The door whispered open.

Moonlight flooded through floor-to-ceiling windows, painting everything in silver and shadow.

And then he saw her.

A small figure lay curled on the massive bed, golden hair fanned across silk pillows like spilled starlight. Even from the doorway, he could see she was shaking.

Her skin glowed pale and ethereal in the moonlight, a sheen of perspiration catching in the delicate hollows of her throat. She was smaller than he'd expected, more breakable, like something precious that might shatter with the wrong breath.

Her body was flushed with fever heat. Trembling with desperate need. Her breath came in shallow, tortured pants.

In heat.

But not naturally. Not the gradual, cyclic heat of a healthy she-wolf.

This was artificial. Chemical. Forced.

Kaius growled, the sound tearing from deep in his chest like the rumble of an earthquake.

Someone had drugged her. Pumped her full of industrial-grade heat inducers. Left her here like a gift-wrapped sacrifice or an elaborate trap.

And then the scent hit him again with the force of divine revelation.

Not Sofia Walton.

An Omega.

Alex exploded against his consciousness like a nuclear bomb. [MATE. MATE. MATE.]

The word thundered through every atom of his being, undeniable as the pull of gravity.

Kaius's pulse went supernova. His mate. His destined other half. Drugged. Vulnerable. Laid out like prey for his consumption.

[KILL THEM ALL,] Alex roared, bloodlust rising like a tsunami. [RIP THEM APART WITH OUR BARE HANDS.]

He staggered forward, fists clenched so tight his knuckles went bone-white, rage pulsing through him like molten lava.

Everything about this situation was an abomination.

[She belongs to us,] Alex growled with primitive satisfaction. [The Moon Goddess has spoken.]

Kaius reached for his phone with trembling hands, preparing to mindlink his Beta and launch an immediate war against Walton's treachery, when a broken moan from the bed stopped his heart cold.

She reached for him blindly, slender fingers brushing against his chest with devastating need.

"Help me," she whispered, her voice cracked and raw like broken glass. "It burns... please..."

Her voice shattered on the last word. Her body arched involuntarily, a puppet dancing to the strings of synthetic hormones flooding her system.

Most of the moonlight was filtered by heavy curtains, leaving the room draped in intimate darkness. Only the sound of their ragged breathing and the whisper of silk against fevered skin broke the silence.

Kaius's hand moved without permission, gripping her delicate wrist. He could feel her pulse hammering frantically beneath the thin skin.

Her entire body was burning, frighteningly hot with artificial fever. That sweet, intoxicating scent mixed with the salt of desperation on her skin created a cocktail that made his head spin.

Damn, it was like mainlining pure addiction.

"What's your name?" he managed to ask, his voice rougher than sandpaper.

"Jul... Please," she sobbed, her other hand clawing weakly at his chest. "It's so empty inside... fill me..."

The last thread of Kaius's sanity snapped like a rubber band.

The moment those words left her lips, he was lost.

He tore that damned dress off her body like it had personally offended him.

Chapter 3 A night of passion

Her breasts sprang free, soft and perfect, the tips already hard and trembling with need.

He lowered his head and took the right one into his mouth, sucking hard, his teeth grazing the sensitive peak.

"Ah!" she arched her back like a bow, her fingers tangling desperately in his hair. "Harder... rougher..."

He released her with a wet pop and moved his hand down her trembling stomach.

She was absolutely soaking-so wet that two of his fingers slid in effortlessly the second he touched her.

Inside, she was scorching hot and impossibly tight, clenching around him like she was trying to pull him deeper into her soul.

"Who the fuck drugged you?" he growled, adding a third finger and stretching her deliberately.

She just shook her head frantically, hair spilling across the pillow as she let out broken, desperate sounds. "I don't... know... please... just take me..."

"Answer me," he pulled his fingers out and smeared her wetness across her inner thigh. "If you don't talk, this stops right here."

"I want you!" she practically screamed, her legs wrapping around his waist like a vice. "Just you! Right now!"

Good enough. He spread her legs wider, the head of his cock pressing against her drenched entrance, not pushing in yet. "What do you call me?"

Her eyes were completely glazed, but the word that rolled off her tongue was like molten fire: "Mate..."

That single word destroyed him. He slammed his hips forward and buried himself inside her in one brutal thrust.

She was so tight it made his vision blur, gripping him deep and desperate.

He grabbed her hips and started moving, each thrust hitting her deepest spots, his balls slapping against her skin with obscene, wet sounds.

The room filled with the symphony of their bodies-slick, rhythmic pounding and her shattered moans.

"Fuck..." he panted, leaning down to bite her shoulder. "Squeezing me like a goddamn vice... you just want to be completely ruined, don't you?"

"Yes... yes..." she babbled, her nails clawing into his back. "Deeper... Mate... deeper..."

He flipped them over so she was on top.

When she lowered herself onto him, she threw her head back, a satisfied, guttural sound escaping her throat.

A sliver of moonlight finally broke through, glistening on her breasts as they bounced with her frantic movements, sweat tracing a path down the valley between them.

He reached up and kneaded them roughly, twisting her nipples between his fingers.

"Do it yourself," his voice was hoarse and barely human. "Take everything you fucking need."

She rocked her hips in a desperate, uneven rhythm, her ass slapping against his thighs with wet, heavy sounds.

Her wetness dripped down his shaft, soaking a dark stain into the expensive sheets.

Watching the pure ecstasy destroying her face, he suddenly flipped her onto her back again, hooking one of her legs over his shoulder.

This angle went deeper than ever before. She screamed, her toes curling, her walls clenching around him in intense, rhythmic pulses.

"I'm close..." she cried out. "Mate... together..."

He crushed his mouth against hers, swallowing every desperate moan.

The moment he came, he bit down on her lower lip until it bled-the taste of iron and sweat exploding in his mouth.

She spasmed around him, milking him dry as her own release crashed over his still-throbbing cock.

Their mate bond trembled deep in their souls from the intensity.

Her whole body went rigid, her fingers clawing at the sheets, her throat making choked, gasping sounds like she was hanging on by a thread.

When he finally pulled out, she was still trembling, a complete mess between her legs.

His cum mixed with her wetness, slowly leaking out.

He scooped some up with his fingers and smeared it back across her stomach.

"Don't forget this feeling," he growled against her ear, sliding two fingers back into her still-fluttering entrance, moving them slowly in and out. "From now on, only I get to be here."

She lay limp on the bed, eyes half-closed, chest rising and falling rapidly.

The moonlight had finally shifted to her face, but he still couldn't get a clear look.

He pulled the blanket over them, his arm draped possessively across her waist.

In the darkness, only their bond glowed faintly, warm and alive.

What power did destiny hold, that it could destroy a man in a single night?

Kaius had mocked the stories. Laughed at them, even. The tales whispered in pack houses about mates who found each other across impossible odds. About bonds that broke logic and rewrote hearts with a single touch.

He'd built his empire on ice-cold calculation. Strategic alliances. Ruthless efficiency.

Love was a luxury he couldn't afford. A weakness other Alphas exploited.

Now he understood why grown men abandoned kingdoms for a woman's smile.

This drugged, trembling stranger, an Omega whose name he didn't even know, had completely annihilated him. In the span of hours, she'd torn down walls he'd spent decades building and made him feel things he'd sworn were beneath him.

The mate bond pulsed between them like a living thing. Raw. Undeniable.

It should have terrified him.

Instead, it felt like coming home.

Keep her, Alex murmured, satisfied and smug in a way that made Kaius's chest tight. Even if she's just an Omega. She belongs to us.

For once, Kaius didn't argue. Didn't analyze the political ramifications or calculate the cost.

He just pulled her against him, tucking her beneath his chin like she belonged there. Like she'd always belonged there.

Her scent still clung to his skin. Her name remained unknown, a mystery wrapped in moonlight and heat. Her face, hidden in shadows.

But his world had already changed forever.

Morning hit like a sledgehammer to the skull.

Kaius jolted awake, hand reaching instinctively for the space beside him. Expecting warmth. Expecting her.

Cold sheets. No warmth. No body. Just emptiness that felt like a physical wound.

Like she'd never been there at all.

She was gone.

The realization hit him like a freight train. A surge of panic punched through him, raw and unfamiliar and completely fucking unacceptable for an Alpha of his standing.

He hadn't felt like this in decades. Not since he was a pup and his world still had the capacity to fall apart. Not since before he learned to armor his heart against disappointment.

But this? This was different. This was his mate.

He threw off the sheets and stalked through the suite like a man possessed.

Bathroom. Empty. Her scent fainter here, just a whisper of what had been.

Closet. Empty. No clothes. No sign she'd ever existed.

Living room. Empty. The silence mocking him.

No sign of her anywhere. Not even a fucking note. Not a single clue about where she'd gone or why.

Had someone taken her? Had she run?

The questions circled in his mind like vultures, each one more maddening than the last.

Alex paced restlessly beneath his skin, agitated and searching. [Find her. Bring her back. She belongs with us.]

Kaius tried desperately to conjure her face, needing to remember every detail, but all he could see were shadows and fragments. The curve of her throat in moonlight. The way she'd arched beneath him. The sound of his name on her lips.

The drug. The darkness. The overwhelming intensity of their mating-it had all blurred together, stealing the details he now craved.

It made him want to put his fist through a wall.

She was his. That hadn't changed. That would never change. The mate bond didn't lie, didn't make mistakes. The Moon Goddess had chosen her for him, and he'd be damned if he let anyone take that away.

He dressed quickly, his movements sharp and mechanical. Each button fastened with military precision.

[Ethan,] he reached out through the mindlink to his Beta.

[Yes, Alpha,] Ethan responded immediately.

[Investigate the Omega who was in my bed last night. She wasn't Sofia Walton.] Kaius's fury began to rise with each word. [Find her and bring her to me.]

[She wasn't? How dare Frostfang Pack-are they trying to declare war on us?] Ethan's disbelief was palpable through their mental connection. The audacity of anyone challenging the Wolf King was unthinkable. [Describe the Omega to me, Kai. I'll track her down immediately.]

[I don't know.] Kaius's frustration was eating him alive, Alex pacing like a caged beast beneath his skin. [It was too dark. I didn't pay attention. What about the hotel surveillance?]

[Everything was shut down yesterday, you-] Ethan clearly wanted to say more, but for the sake of his own survival, he swallowed his words. [I'll prepare to head to Frostfang Pack immediately. Since they sent the breeder over yesterday without authorization, they must know something. In half an hour I'll-]

[I want answers now,] Kaius cut him off, his Alpha authority bleeding through the mindlink like poison. [I'm going to Frostfang Pack myself to find her.]

Without waiting for Ethan's response, Kaius severed the mental connection.

The hunt was on.
