Obsession: A Hidden Love

We can see a girl around 23 sitting on a couch looking at her hands which was holding a ring of engagement.

The smile on her face was unable to explain, the air pods were plugged in her ears as she was talking to someone

"I can't explain the feeling Dan. I am feeling so many things at a moment. Happy, nervous, sad" she said.

"I know my love and this happens I am also nervous but I am not sad like you." he said from the other side.

"But after the wedding we will move to America so obviously I will miss my mom and dad that is why I am sad." She said while he chuckled.

"I know Alana but if you want we can take them with us they can live with us here." he said while her eyes sparkled.

"Really?."

"Off course I can't see you sad you know that right."

"But they will not agree." she said making a sad face.

"Now this is on you if you can manage to convince them."

"Alana, come on go to your room and sleep it's quite late and tomorrow is the big day, go and have some rest." Mom said coming down the stairs.

"Ya ya I was just going." Alana said.

"God you kids, can't you wait for a day after tomorrow you can talk how much you want right?." Dan chuckles from the other side.

"I think we should sleep now or else your mom will kill me." Dan said from the other side.

"Yeah you are right" She said.

"Good night my love"

"Good night" Saying so they hung up.

"Now go to your room and sleep tomorrow is a big day." she said sitting beside Alana

"I am gonna miss you both." Alana said putting her head on her lap.

"We will also miss you as you are the only child of us." she said.

"Mom, why don't you both settle with us in America?." She asked with a hope

"Are you mad Alana this can't happen."

"Why not Dan also want you to stay with us." She said getting up.

"Alana We can't do this, it's impossible we will stay here only, your dad has a business to look after." she explained while Alana Sighed.

"Ufff you are so stubborn"

"Yes Yes I am now go and sleep." She got up kissrd her mother's cheek and left to her room.

Meanwhile In America

"Mom, what is this behaviour? You know I have an office to handle here and you want me to come with you just to attend a wedding? Are you serious?." The boy on a call said in anger.

"But Chris she is my best friend's daughter and also you used to play with her in childhood have you forgotten?." Her mother replied calmly.

"Mom it's 15 years old thing, I was a kid, I don't even remember her properly and I am sorry I can't come." He said sitting on couch loosing his tie.

"Chris please I promised her she wants to meet you and its just a matter of a day."

"Mom-" he stopped as the girl standing besides him snatched the phone from his hand.

"Hello aunty, how are you?." The girl asked.

"Oh Jannie I am fine, how are you doing?."

"Great! Aunty don't worry he will come I will make sure to send him." Chris shows her eyes and tried to snatch the phone but she stopped him showing hand.

"Are you sure?." His mom asked

"You know me right?." She said winking at Chirs while he sighed.

"Off course I know you well, thanks Jannie."

"The pleasure is all mine." she said and hung up.

"Jannie What is this behaviour? You know I can't go, I have so many meetings to handle." He said being frustrated. She held him by his neck pecking his lips.

"I am here to handle everything Chris, you don't have to worry, you go and enjoy, it's been so long since you were away from your parents they must be missing you." she said, trying to make him understand.

"You are right but you know I can't stay away from you." he said pulling her close.

"I also can't but You should go Please for me Look , I promised her." She said, showing her pleading look to melt him.

"Ok fine just for you." he said She smiled giving him a kiss of a few seconds.

Alana's POV

I am sitting in front of a mirror looking at myself. Today is the day finally, the 5 year Relationship of ours is going to get a name.

"Alana!" I turned around listening to mom's voice. She was in tears.

"Mom what happened? Why are you crying?." I asked to get up, panicked.

"You are looking so beautiful dear!." she said I sighed releasing a breath.

"Mom, you scared me." I said taking her in a hug.

"Anna, where are you-" Dad stopped as he looked at me.

"Alana?" He asked, not able to believe his eyes.

"Look, our daughter is looking so beautiful." mom said to dad. My cheeks were getting red.

"I am looking the same, my beautiful daughter." he too hugged me.

"She has grown so fast!" They were talking to each other and I was getting all emotional.

"Yes I can't believe this is my Alana, god bless you my child" dad said side hugging me again. I was in tears by now as I realised I am going far away from them.

"You made me emotional" I said, wiping my tears.

"Aww don't cry or else your makeup will ruin and Dan will get scare" mom said with a tease while I chuckled

"Mom!" I said and she laughed.

"Anna let's go down guests have arrive we should be there" he said while they both left.

In the hall everyone was present there enjoying themselves while waiting for the groom.

"Anna?" She turned around listening the voice

"Oh Mary, finally you are here." she said, hugging her.

"Yes finally I am sorry for being late as you know Chris he takes time to get ready so..." Mary said.

"Chris? Is he really here?." Anna asked, looking around.

"Yes there he is, Chris!" Mary called out while he came near them.

"Hello Aunty, how are you?" He asked while she hugged him.

"I am fine Chris, how are you? It's been so long since I have seen you." Anna said.

"Yeah you know first I was busy with studies then business." he said trying to end the conversation as soon as possible.

"Yes yes my son has become very hardworking" Ronnie, Chris's dad spoke with a tease.

"Dad!"

"Ok ok you go and enjoy." He wanted to say something but just nodded and left.

"He has grown, A mature man." Anna said.

"Yes, Alana as well. I can't believe we came to her wedding, And you know what I always thought I would make her my daughter in law but as I got to know that she is in love with someone else I dropped the plan" Mary said expressing her feelings.

"I thought the same but as It was Alana's choice so I had to accept." This time it was Mart Alana's dad.

"Yeah" The conversation continued.

Back to Alana's pov

It's been an hour I am sitting here waiting for them. I was calling him but he wasn't replying maybe on the way.

"Alana!" I turned around to see Stella. She is my cousin as well as friend.

"They here?." I asked for the 20th time.

"No! Alana mom is calling you she said maybe they are stuck in traffic and you know everyone is asking about you and him so better you come down." She said While I nodded. I came down taking slow steps as Stella was walking beside me.

"See the bride is here!" I listened to the voices all over. I met everyone one by one!

"Aww Alana my dear child you are looking so beautiful" I turned around listening to the voice.

"Mary aunty I am so glad you came I was waiting for you." I said, hugging her.

"Of course How can I miss this, My daughter's wedding?" she said while I smiled.

I turned around searching for mom, I looked at them as dad was also there, but the expressions on their face tensed me. I went towards them as they were reading some kind of a paper.

"Mom, Dad?." They hide the paper instantly.

"Alana dear what happened?." They asked acting normal but I know something is fishy.

"What are you hiding?."

"Nothing to worry about it's just-" I snatched the paper from her hand. It was a letter.

To Alana,

I am sorry to say but I can't do this, yes I know I was the one who proposed you to marry me but as today is the day I lost all my strength, I just can't do this I am still not ready. I hope you will understand me. I can't face you, I just can't. I am sorry...

I was shocked, I lost my balance but someone held me.

"Watch out!" He said I looked at him, he was a stranger.

"Chris, please take her to her room." mom said while he nodded.

Alana's POV

He made me sit on bed

"Are you okay?." He asked.

"Hmm" he gave me a glass of water. I drink it in one go.

"Alana!" I listened to Stella's voice.

She came near me. I hugged her tightly, crying hard.

"I should go, take care." saying so that guy left.

"Why did he do this to me? He was the one who proposed to me then why?." I was sobbing.

"Alana, he was never ready; he proposed to you because your mom wanted you both to get married." she said.

"But still he could have shared it with me?" The conversation continued...

It's been an hour since I have been sitting alone. Dad is still trying to contact him.

"Alana he is here." I looked at Stella shockingly as she came running to me.

"What? Are you serious?" I was not able to believe it. How did this happen suddenly?

"Yes he is here, he apologised to everyone as he pranked us." She said and I ran out "Slow down" she added. How can he prank on such a big day and such a cheap prank.

I came down to see him sitting on the chair with a mask on his head? Mask? I sat beside him.

"Have you lost your mind what you mean by prank? Is this a joke? And why are you wearing this mask?." I asked but he didn't reply. I'm not getting a good vibe. He handed me the paper I held it to read.

'I am sorry I am not well, I have an infection. I Couldn't tell your parents so I lied.'

"It's ok" I said but still I wasn't feeling right but maybe I'm nervous.

The marriage was over. I was smiling all the time. I am now officially Mrs. Dan Richard.

"Alana We are gonna miss you." Mom said and I smiled as we are directly going to America because Dan wasn't able to take a long leave.

"Me too mom and you too dad." I hugged them tightly.

"Alana dear We will miss you." This time it was Mary aunty.

"Me too." I hugged them as well.

We are sitting in his private plane about which I was unaware. I never knew he has a private plane

"Dan why are you not saying anything?." He was still wearing a mask.

"Shhh" he said, putting his finger on my lips. It was weird but I stayed quiet.

The journey went quite as well. I left the room, the room in the plane. I slept as I was tired.

I opened my eyes to see myself in an unknown place, we reached?

"Dan?" I called out standing up. I looked here and there but there was no one I know he lives alone but-

Some voices caught my attention. I went towards the direction. I opened the door to see the worst. It was the same guy who helped me back there. He was hovering over a girl kissing her neck but what are they doing here? Oh wait, she is Jannie Dan's sister but she doesn't live with him then what is she doing here? And the second thing that caught my attention was the pics on the wall of this guy.

This all is so confusing, I slowly closed the door and went out. I came down looking here and there. Is it strange where he left at this hour? It's our wedding night. How can he leave me alone today? I went towards the room back where I was. I looked around but there was nothing which I can say belongs to Dan.

This room looks like a guest room. It was enough that I went back to Jannie's room.

I knocked on the door but there was no reply. I entered inside to see no one.

"Jannie?" I called out but there was no reply.

"What are you doing here?." I turned around to see him coming out from the washroom. He was just wearing a towel around his waist.

"I am sorry to disturb you but can you tell me where Dan is?." I asked.

"Sorry who?" He asked, making a bad face.

"Dan" I said.

"Dan Who?."

"My...My husband." I said I was stammering. I don't know why.

"Hahahaha, your husband huh?." He was acting weird But My heart started beating fast.

"Yes my husband, why are you laughing?."

"Because He is not your husband, you forgot he sent you the letter saying he can't come." What does he mean by that?

"But it was a prank because I got married to him." I tried to explain but I was scared by now.

"Yes you are right it was a prank but not by Dan, by your family." he said wearing his shirt. I was all confused.

"What are you even saying? Can you please for god sake stop talking in code words?" I almost shouted.

"Keep your voice low, this is not your fucking house. It's my house and I am your husband."

"So what if this is your hou-." I stopped as I again rewind his words. "What you just said?"

"You heard right, your so called family pranked you by throwing you on my shoulders for the fucking sake of their respect." he almost shouted on my face. I was so shocked to reply. I was just trying to digest his words.

"You are lying." I said.

"Oh yes I am lying. At this hour I am lying right. Ok wait" he said going towards the wardrobe. He took out the pent coat and the mask and I was shocked.

"See, isn't this the same?" He asked. I lost my balance. I fell on the bed.

"How can they do this to me? How can they?" I was blabbering.

"Listen, I am already very tired. I need to rest you please get out." he said. I looked at him.

"Who are you?"

"What?"

"Who are you? Why did they replace you? How do they know you?" I asked all in one.

"I am Chris, Chris Salvatore Son of Ronnie And Mary Salvatore" It was another bomb.

Mom dad always wanted me to marry Him because they love him very much. Was this all planned?

"If your inquiry session is done then go"

"Not yet! I don't know you and I guess you also don't know me so why did you agree to marry me?" I asked. He stayed quite

"Fucking speak up" I shouted.

"Don't raise your voice"

"I will tell you why you married me? Because a few minutes ago I saw you kissing a girl." I said.

"I had reasons but yes listen to me straight and clear I married you because I was forced but that doesn't mean you are my wife you will never be the one because I love someone else, there can't be any relationship between us. We will stay in one house but like strangers is that clear?" He said. Another bomb

"You shouldn't have married me then." I said.

"I am not interested in you as I said I had reasons"

"So for your fucking reasons you ruined my life?" I shouted again. He held my hand pulling me harshly towards himself.

"I said don't raise your voice in front of me" he said digging his nails in my arms.

"Leave me, its hurting"

"As if I care" saying so he pushed me away. I fell down on the bed again. The tears flow down my eyes.

"Now out" he said. I left without saying a word. I am never gonna forgive you mom dad I will never forgive you

Alana's POV

I woke up with a heavy headache as last night was full of tears. I still can't believe I am Mrs. Salvatore not Richard. All my dreams and everything I thought about us is being ruined. I picked up my phone dialling Dan's number but it was switched off. I was going towards the washroom to change my dress but...

"Where is my suitcase?" I looked around everywhere but there was nothing. I am still in a bridal dress.

I came out going towards his room as I was going to enter. He suddenly opened the door. I collided with him and lost my balance. He held me before I could fall. He looked at me for a few seconds.

"Can't you see?" He asked, irritated. Am I going to live like this only?

"I am sorry." he made me stand in my place.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"I am not able to find my suitcase. Do you know where it is?" I asked.

"I forgot to pick it up from the plane I will tell my guard till then-" he stopped his sentence and went inside his room, after a few seconds he came back. "Wear this till then" He said.

I looked at the shirt and the trouser as it was of his size. I didn't complain as this is better than the dress I am wearing.

"Thanks" I left

I came out of the washroom . As soon as I was out I saw him. He turned around immediately as I was in a towel.

"I am sorry." he said

"It's ok."

"Actually I wanted to say I am going to the office. You can tell The maid about your breakfast and dinner. She will make whatever you want to eat and yeah your suitcase will be here by evening." he said.

"Ok."

He was going out but stopped. He turned towards me and took fast steps. I was shocked. I started taking steps backward. He bent down picking up the frame which was on the floor

"I know this room is yours but that doesn't mean you can throw away my things." He said. I remember last night I was angry so I threw everything away.

"I am sorry." I said in a low voice as I was scared. He left along with the frame.

I released the breath I was holding from a long time. I came out down I was wearing his shirt only which was till my half thigh as the trouser was very long. I came down.

Fuck! He was still here before I could run back. He caught me and he ignored focusing on his food. I sighed and went towards the table.

"What would you like to eat, mam?" The maid asked

"Just an omelette with bread." I said

I was going to sit but he again looked at me this time from head to toe. He coughed suddenly and I gave him the glass of water while he drank. As he was back to normal he again started eating. I sat back waiting for the food. I was again and again looking at him

"Why aren't you wearing trousers?" He asked.

"Uhm, it was very long." I said. He rolled his eyes

"Fine." he said. I start eating my food quietly. I thought the first lunch I will do with Dan will be full of talks, romance and laughs but here everything is completely opposite. Fuck my life!

"Here is the credit card. You can go shopping if you need anything." he said, giving me the card.

"But I don't know any place here."

"The driver will go with you and he knows everything here." he said and I nodded. I hesitantly took the card from his hand while he stood up to leave.

"Kindly change your clothes before I come back." he said and left. I eat the rest of my food.

At night time I am watching a movie as there is nothing else to do in this empty house. Today I got to know the value of a small house. You have a lot of people to talk to in that small house rather than having a big mansion with almost no one. I listened to the sound of a car. I stood up and went towards the hall. As he entered inside he saw me.

Shit I was still in his shirt! I forgot to change. He looked at me from head to toe rolling his eyes.

"I told you to change!" He said putting the bag on the table.

"I forgotten."

"Yeah I can guess." he said, taking off his tie.

"Are you hungry? Should I serve dinner?" I asked.

He was opening the first button of his shirt but listening to my words he stopped. He looked at me for a while.

"What you just said?"

"Are you hungry should I serve you-"

"What do you think is going on? You are no one to serve me remember and about dinner I will eat whenever I want." he said leaving the place.

An hour later I knocked on his door. "Come in." I entered inside. He didn't look at me, his eyes were plastered on the laptop screen.

"What do you want?"

"I want to talk about something important." he looked at me. He sighs. I looked at myself.

Not again! I'm still in his shirt.

"Uhmm I...." I was short of words.

"Whatever, say." he said. I went towards him. I was playing with my fingers.

"I want divorce." I finally said. He looked at me with shock.

"What?"

"Yeah, I mean neither you want this relationship nor I better end this and don't worry I won't let anyone know about the divorce." I tried to make him understand. He closed the laptop and got up. He came near me.

"You think marriage is a game?" He asked.

"I know it is not but still I can't live with you not after knowing that you love someone else I just can't ruin anyone's life." I said.

"Seriously and whom do you think will be ruined?"

"Jannie." I said.

"How do you know her?" He asked, shocked.

"She is Dan's sister." he was shocked, he didn't know?

"This can't be the truth." he said, taking a step backward.
